00:07:10

00:07:12
But again, you, uh you viewers means so much to us here on the S sports talk show.
00:07:17
So we love to have you on as a guest.
00:07:19
So let's get right into this.
00:07:21
Ladies and gentlemen, we're gonna start with our first topic, and hey, it's a pretty big topic for all three of us.
00:07:33
it's gonna be on the screen.
00:07:34
So the energy Joe playoff for men is confirmed and other things woken from we're going to get right to that.
00:07:43
And yet so, I mean, that's just pull the image up, and I'm gonna share my screen.
00:07:47
So here is the image of the of the new NHL player for man.
00:07:53
Well, let's Sam talk about it once I get on to once I get it on.
00:08:00
Okay, we go.
00:08:02
OK, Sam, you want to talk about it? Go ahead.
00:08:06
Yeah, sure.
00:08:07
I mean, I'm excited that, you know, the NHL has ah, has been the first, you know, us sports league.
00:08:14
Teoh, you know, officially come out and say Here is our proposal and, of course, for the playoffs.
00:08:19
Now that they announced they're doing away with the rest of the regular season.
00:08:23
And to be honest with you, you know, I'm just happy they have this plan set in place because there wasn't there wasn't gonna be, you know, a perfect plan that would make everyone happy.
00:08:32
Let's be real.
00:08:33
But I think overall maybe, you know, allowing 24 teams that it is a little silly, but I thought 20 was more reasonable.
00:08:41
But, hey, I'm fine with it.
00:08:43
Overall, I mean, unfortunately for seven teams, their season came to an end.
00:08:48
But I don't think you know those those seven teams are are really too mad about it because they knew that they'd be playing if they had finished the regular season, they'd be playing those games for practically nothing because they pretty much had no chance of making the playoffs.
00:09:01
But, yeah, for overall, you know, they're still some specifics that have to be sorted out like we don't know if there's gonna be receding after the playing around between the five through 12 seeds or if it's gonna be bracketed like it is in the in this proposal, so that still has to be sorted out.
00:09:16
The one thing I will say is, the top four in each conference under this proposal are gonna play a round robin.
00:09:22
So each plate the, uh, each team will play each other once out of the top four in each conference for a total of three games to determine that the top four seeds.
00:09:33
So I I'm not just saying this because I'm a Bruins fan with the Boston Bruins were clearly the best team in the league throughout the NHL season.
00:09:40
They let in points winds, ah, regulation and putting it in the, um and they could possibly end up being the four seed in the East if if they if they really, you know, screw up in this In this round robin against the Lightning Capitals and Flyers, they do have the tiebreaker over all the other teams.
00:09:59
If they were, if they were tied on points after that round robin to determine who would get the higher seed.
00:10:04
So you know it's a little unfortunate that it has to.
00:10:07
After all, the all of what the, you know Bruins did the whole season that all the hard work they put into, you know, clearly established themselves as the best team in the NHL.
00:10:16
It will come down to three games to determine whether the 123 or four seed, when I think it's obvious that they should at least be you know the top one will pop two seeds, probably the one seed, because they were gonna have they finished the regular season.
00:10:30
I think they were eat points above the Lightning, but you know it is what it is.
00:10:33
As long as the Bruins take care of business, there should be no issue.
00:10:36
And let's be honest here.
00:10:37
There is no home ice advantage, and, you know, year after year, the in the NHL playoffs, you know, it doesn't really matter what seed you are.
00:10:45
So and so you know, even if the Bruins were they end up being the three suit or something, I don't think it would, you know, really, really be.
00:10:52
That's, you know, a few people would be upset about because you're you're gonna have to play some good teams no matter what, if you want to win the Stanley Cup and you know whoever they face, whoever every team put faces after the plane around, but in particular the Bruins, if they lose in that first round, then you don't deserve to be a Stanley Cup champion.
00:11:11
So, you know, I don't think there's a real complaint to be had There.
00:11:16
It is, kind of, you know, disappointing that the Bruins could end up being the four seed, but overall I'm for it.
00:11:21
I mean, it's, you know, there were quite a few teams.
00:11:25
Yeah, you know, it's it's kind of weird how you know they're lying.
00:11:28
Montreal Canadians and the likes of the Chicago Blackhawks and who weren't even close to getting in the playoffs and don't deserve it, quite frankly.
00:11:35
But, hey, you know, now we won't have these teams, you know, outside the playoffs, outside of the playoff spots that.
00:11:43
But when the season stopped, you know, complaining and saying, Hey, we didn't get a chance to get in So I think overall that they did the right thing, they're given those teams that were right outside the bubble a chance to get in.
00:11:54
As I said, I think 20 You know what? I would have been fine with that.
00:11:58
24 is, you know, a little a little too much.
00:12:02
Maybe letting too many teams in.
00:12:04
But you know, overall, I'm just excited that the NHL has a has a plan set and I'm looking forward to some playoff hockey and we get an extra round two with that best of five playing around, too.
00:12:16
So, yeah, I'm looking forward to it a lot.
00:12:18
Hopefully this ah, you know, gets going sooner rather than later.
00:12:22
And the July early August will see Yeah, and before you get the grant.
00:12:28
I'm just gonna tell you the details of it again.
00:12:31
Sam is partially correct.
00:12:33
There technically is the home ice advantage, but not an advantage.
00:12:37
I mean, the biggest go, Tonto, do have no possibility.
00:12:42
I'm actually gonna say, tell you guys again. Two.
00:12:45
There's only be two stadiums and use for this any show, playoffs and, uh, one stadium for the Eastern Conference, one for the Western Conference.
00:12:55
They're gonna be in the Hope City the NHL is gonna decide, based on, you know, transportation, hotels, playoff facilities.
00:13:04
And yeah, so I'm just gonna have the names.
00:13:07
I'm gonna get the names right now, But what is weird is energy will actually had three Canada locations, which is well, but in order for that to happen, the Canada would have to lift the 14 day, uh, the 14 day a Corona virus. Whatever.
00:13:26
Yes, The 14 day, uh, quarantine ice.
00:13:31
If I could just chime in quickly.
00:13:33
Sorry.
00:13:34
Yeah, Basically, my point was like, Yeah, ruins i e.
00:13:38
That.
00:13:39
The Bruins end up being the two seed after that round Robin.
00:13:40
It's not like they're battling for that one seat toe.
00:13:42
Have home ice advantage over the Lightning if it went Teoh if they met in the Eastern Conference finals, because in a normal cir***stance, you know that one seed is very important. Toe.
00:13:53
Have Game seven at home with the Stanley Cup final berth on the line.
00:13:57
And so, yeah, that was just my overall point about the home I even for the two teams that will be hosting, it's not really home ice advantage with no fans do.
00:14:06
Because, you know, like in the German Bundesliga, which I've been commentating, they've played four match eat.
00:14:10
Every team has played four matches so far, and the the away team has won like 75% of the game.
00:14:16
So it's kind of crazy how big the fans are when it comes to home field advantage.
00:14:21
So I'm joking.
00:14:23
But I'll tell you, an MLB home viewing without fans is still gonna make a difference for the dimensions.
00:14:29
That's true.
00:14:30
Yeah, MLB's I don't for sure.
00:14:32
Yeah, this did any until the same dimensions, but I was joking with you.
00:14:35
I was Yeah, but yes.
00:14:39
So we're gonna get to grab, but anyway, I'm Panthers fan on Happy patterns were making the playoffs and the Panthers actually have nine Panthers.
00:14:48
Sanzo hopes to the Panthers, and many people think the Panthers could make it far.
00:14:54
You know, based on Barbara Skis.
00:14:56
Look, Ross, he had a bad year this year.
00:14:57
He had a lot of time off because look any Joe.
00:15:00
But he's all healthy now.
00:15:01
He had injuries all season, and again, he has. Great.
00:15:06
He was great in the playoffs last year, upsetting the Lightning, not just upsetting them, sweeping the Lightning in the first round.
00:15:13
So Bobrovsky is finally good.
00:15:15
The Panthers weren't for a ride.
00:15:17
Their offense is already good.
00:15:18
So if you grow on, bark up, just do what they do.
00:15:21
In the regular season, the Panthers will be fine.
00:15:23
And again, Joe Cornered Bill, one of the best coaches currently in the NHL, and that's gonna be a good coaching matchup.
00:15:29
Cornyn.
00:15:30
Bill Almost the Islanders baby trots.
00:15:31
That's one of the best coaching matchups you can get and you're the island goes, Hey, I mean, they're an experienced team, and this is a rematch of the 2016 playoff.
00:15:40
So what many people are also saying is that the pictures have more confidence to win because they don't want the same result as last time.
00:15:48
So as a Panthers fan, I'm happy Grants.
00:15:51
Not after that late.
00:15:52
King's didn't make the playoffs, but he's good.
00:15:54
He's going to root for the Bruins for the booth because the Bruins would have made the playoffs.
00:16:01
In some, There were rumors that the any Joe would go straight to the Stanley Cup.
00:16:05
And if that happened, while the Bruins would be in that, so any possibility besides the NHL just ending the season, the Bruins would have been in the playoffs.
00:16:17
Yeah, well, I mean, I think I think Sam basically nailed it on the head.
00:16:21
I think Gary Bettman and the rest of an eggshell crew, I mean, I really think they did a nice job forming this pretty well planned out.
00:16:28
If you ask me a new think 2014 is a bit too much.
00:16:31
I do think 20 would have been better, but I mean, overall, you can't complain more Hakim or teams who might win the Stanley Cup.
00:16:39
I mean, it's gotta come.
00:16:41
Let's give you very interesting.
00:16:43
It's gonna be weird without having any fans, really no home ice advantage.
00:16:47
It should really be interesting.
00:16:48
I'm looking forward to seeing it and contain some games as well.
00:16:52
But I'm Yeah, I mean it every game to pretty much be entertaining, you know, there is going to be.
00:16:57
Of course there's gonna be no like, oh, crowds, you know, affecting an outcome of a game or whatever.
00:17:02
You know, I am ***ually an article the other day about because of no fans.
00:17:06
Referees might make more blown calls.
00:17:09
A. Sure that's not the case.
00:17:11
But that was read an article about that the other day, so that concerns me a little bit.
00:17:15
But overall, I think very chilled in a very good job.
00:17:19
Formatting this out now.
00:17:20
Yeah, let's get to it.
00:17:22
Hopefully, thank God mid July.
00:17:27
You know, I like what Grant just said.
00:17:29
He said, No fans cause the Panthers fan base is the one of the smallest in the league, So the Islanders fans won't be annoying us.
00:17:37
Even.
00:17:38
Look, believe me, they don't look in Florida.
00:17:40
Has tons of New Yorkers, right.
00:17:44
Panthers home game more and understands and Panthers fan.
00:17:47
I'm calling it so I think every game the Panthers playing the playoffs, the away team is always gonna have more fans.
00:17:54
That's have to say it as a Panthers fan.
00:17:57
So maybe it's playing in a favor for the Panthers.
00:18:01
Who knows? But, yeah, again, we've planned.
00:18:04
Maybe next talk show, maybe in a few talk shows you plan on doing obviously before the NHL playoff star.
00:18:10
We plan on doing playoff predictions.
00:18:13
And again, there was no talking date for when this is gonna happen.
00:18:18
And yet it's hard to have reported Gate date again.
00:18:21
They still didn't pick the stadiums.
00:18:23
They're gonna play out and again.
00:18:26
NHL's giving teams time for some training and again in some cities.
00:18:30
Um, you know, only a few players can practice read each other at a time, But let me just tell you one last thing, Okay? No, no.
00:18:40
Any Joe fans expected, right? We were projecting year.
00:18:44
Gary Bettman is going to resume the NHL season, but who thought that they wouldn't extend the teams to 2014? You know what I'm saying? Who thought we no one thought of that? You know what I'm saying? I love you.
00:18:54
See, Gary that way did kind of think they would do that because there was so quite a lot of teams, you know, in the hunt to.
00:19:02
I felt like were playoff worthy or teams like Chicago in Montreal.
00:19:06
I wouldn't put them as one of them.
00:19:08
But then you have teams like the Rangers and I'll pay it.
00:19:10
There's in the Islanders and the Coyote like to use you like we're almost there.
00:19:15
Just couldn't make it in.
00:19:16
So, you know, I kind of you know, I didn't think 24 teams I thought 20 when I first heard it, but I definitely saw the H.
00:19:24
L expect the playoffs a little bit if I could just say one more thing to like going off of what? Grant said.
00:19:31
I understand why they, you know, expanded the playoffs since they put it into the regular season.
00:19:35
Because, like, you know, you got to give the teams on the bubble chance because, especially in the NHL, like we've seen, the eight seed were at the L A Kings a few years back to eat sea.
00:19:44
They ended up winning the Stanley Cup, so it doesn't matter what seed you are.
00:19:48
You know those teams, you know, that barely squeak into the playoffs.
00:19:51
They could still make a run because that's just what makes the the NHL playoffs.
00:19:55
So fun in the n b A.
00:19:56
It doesn't matter so much about those bubble teams because most likely they see is going to get smacked by the one seed are in each conference.
00:20:03
And then the other thing I wanted to point out to is like I hear Bruins fans.
00:20:07
You know what, What? Whining.
00:20:09
So first when they heard this proposal before the four teams playing in the round Robin, I heard Bruins.
00:20:15
You know why? No.
00:20:17
Hey, the Bruins will be at a disadvantage because, you know, whichever one is the plain around, we'll have already played.
00:20:23
You know, if the Syrians goes to the full five games already played, you know, five games that mean a lot and they'll have that one rusty and have the momentum going in.
00:20:32
And the Bruins won't have played any meaningful games yet.
00:20:35
But then, when this round Robin came out, there's the I feel like those same fans are saying, but now the Bruins can be the four seed.
00:20:41
That's unfair, so you can't really have it both ways.
00:20:44
I mean, cause they're making the games means something for for the, you know, top four seeds with those round robin games. It's not.
00:20:50
It's not like you're gonna be eliminated.
00:20:51
Even if you go on three in the round robin, you'll still be the four seed.
00:20:54
You'll still be in the plan.
00:20:55
At least they're making it, you know, means something.
00:20:58
And the last point I just want to say, Hey, I heard that.
00:21:01
I heard that for the plan round actually do their, you know contraction will abu obligations for the regional networks for every team they have toe, you know, they sign a contract before the season where they have to get a certain amount of regular season games in the for the regional networks to show.
00:21:18
Like for the Bruins, that's Ah, that's Nessen.
00:21:20
And so, uh, they hadn't reached that mark yet.
00:21:23
So I said, I heard that all the playing around Siri's we'll just be on the regional networks and not nationally televised on NBC Sports, Which is unfortunate.
00:21:33
But, uh, you know, so like, for example, that Toronto, Columbus, Siri's, you'll only be able you'll only be able to watch.
00:21:39
If you're in the Toronto or Columbus areas, you'll only be able to see your local team and that playing around.
00:21:43
And that's why they're not officially calling the plate.
00:21:45
You know, calling the plane around part of the playoffs.
00:21:48
Even a lot of people are, you know, calling that a playoff any.
00:21:52
The NHL is not officially gonna call it the playoffs till the first round, and that's why they're calling it the playing around.
00:21:57
So it it's still, you know, sort of, you know, under the NHL, they're basically saying, It's okay.
00:22:03
We're pounding at the regular season game to get those to get that certain amount of games that the regional networks need to get in because of those contracts.
00:22:11
So that's a little bit of a bummer.
00:22:13
You know, even even, you know, I I love the NHL playoffs, and NBC Sports does a great job showing it, you know, even the first round.
00:22:20
They put games on, not just nbcsn, but since there select four games and one night they'll put it on the USA Network, CNBC and all of that.
00:22:28
So it's unfortunate that the plane around as it looks like ah, will be on the regional networks, but you know, it is what it is.
00:22:36
Yeah, I just want you actually have also read today is that you know these, you know these will actually count as playoff games, but the points that get will count towards their playoff stats.
00:22:50
That's kind of interesting.
00:22:56
Yeah, it's mounts or the justices.
00:22:59
By the way.
00:23:00
Everyone watching Sam was one of the people whining about the Bruins recovers again, and this is what's gonna make our predictions hard next week again.
00:23:08
Like you said, the MBA is hard.
00:23:10
Like they the first seed over smacks 80.
00:23:12
But again, last year of Rafi, you know, upset can sweat the Lightning.
00:23:17
So again, this is what's gonna make our predictions hard, right? The Bruins had Bruins Ward Shrub met the best in right going in when the until the Kobe 19 stopped playing.
00:23:29
So maybe they're gonna be bad in the Panthers, you know, had such a great stretch the last game.
00:23:34
They beat the Blues and they won't like a four game win streak.
00:23:37
And now who knows what's gonna happen? So every team is at a different spot.
00:23:41
Maybe some players are out of shape.
00:23:43
Who knows? I think the Bruins they have tons of veteran players on their team, the odor players.
00:23:48
I mean who knows how they're in shape.
00:23:50
So this is what's gonna make our predictions much tougher.
00:23:53
But, hey, we're definitely gonna try our best here.
00:23:57
So any last doubts about this 2014 pledge and it says proposed, It's now official.
00:24:02
Ladies and gentlemen, Hey, I'm just looking forward to playoff hockey.
00:24:07
That same.
00:24:09
Take it.
00:24:10
What about the Ml? Baby? Won't talk about guys the next you talk shows.
00:24:14
We're not talking about MLB because there's nothing to talk about.
00:24:18
It show players and owners arguing over money, and that's that's a look that big.
00:24:25
Who knows what's gonna happen to them? So I mean, look, they think their target dates July 4th.
00:24:32
NHL did have, like, target dates of, like stage one, Stage two staged.
00:24:36
But I'm not even to say the target dates because they're never reliable.
00:24:39
You know, exactly when my screw got cancer, they said, Oh, yeah, we'll be back in two weeks.
00:24:46
So anyway, we're gonna move on to the next topic.
00:24:49
This this was a big thing to talk about.
00:24:51
And so I guys, this happened a few days ago.
00:24:55
We don't do talk shows every day, so we, uh, you know, Sorry, We're a few days late on this, but we knew about it.
00:25:03
So let's get to the next topic.
00:25:06
Carlos High.
00:25:07
So he went to Seattle again.
00:25:09
Carlos Hyde coming off his best year last year on the Houston Texans, 1000 plus rushing yards.
00:25:14
Now he's going to a young Seahawks team, so I will protect my whole article about this.
00:25:20
I'm not sure, but guys are suggestions.
00:25:23
Check this out anyway.
00:25:25
Call aside.
00:25:26
Coming off his best year, right, the Seahawks Marshall Lynch is not going back to the Seahawks.
00:25:30
What? We now know this because of that, But they have Chris Carson, who, coming up off season ending injuries.
00:25:39
Rashaad Penny, who was coming off season ending injuries.
00:25:42
And he's probably gonna miss the 1st 6 games of the season.
00:25:46
He's going to start off on that injury list and forget about Carson and pain.
00:25:51
They have Travis Homer, who was a young running back who was their draft pick in the 2019 draft.
00:25:57
So the Seahawks have a young team.
00:26:00
Even Rashawn Penny is young.
00:26:01
I think so.
00:26:02
Chris Carson, their injuries acceptable.
00:26:06
So getting Carlos Hyde, that's great.
00:26:08
He again Carlos hard and Chris Carson are gonna be leading the backfield week one.
00:26:14
So I don't know who is gonna be a starting running back, but again, Carlos Hyde has momentum coming off.
00:26:19
You know, his best season.
00:26:21
So called besides, a good running back.
00:26:23
And, yeah, I think this was a great move by the Seahawks again.
00:26:26
They needed a running back.
00:26:28
Marshall Lynch is not gonna walk anymore.
00:26:30
He said, I doubt guys, I wrote this in my article.
00:26:33
How does this, you know, free agency free agent signing affect the other running backs available.
00:26:38
LaShawn McCoy, Lamar Miller who was asked on the Texans last year? Marshawn Lynch.
00:26:43
I said, Marshawn Lynch is not coming out of retirement for the third time.
00:26:47
That's what I said.
00:26:48
So that's gonna be That would be amazing if he comes out of her time in from the third time.
00:26:54
So, yeah, I Grant, when you think about this free agent signing, Yeah, he was one of the best offensive players still available on the free agent market.
00:27:02
Yeah, I definitely waas and you know, I think you know, I personally will vote with Developed a Freeman, but the way of Freeman just been winding over the past.
00:27:10
Few reach how he's not gonna want take a reasonable contract.
00:27:13
Why not get Carlos I? Because you know, Carl said he was pretty good all the way back in use with 40 Niners, which you know is very good that, you know, coming off this year with the Texans know basically had a bad back form 1st 2016 year were the mayor may not meet the Pro Bowl out entirely, but still overall.
00:27:30
Karsay impressed me a lot, I would imagine, especially for shop.
00:27:34
Any is going to start out the season on the injury with reserve Lis.
00:27:38
I would say it.
00:27:40
Chris Carson is fully healthy.
00:27:42
Goa Carson as your number one guy Because Carl aside, is Maura good.
00:27:46
Want your country? Francisco? Yeah, Macarena Last year.
00:27:49
You see Andrew Johnson? You know, when he was on the Jack Large for, like, three weeks? Yeah, plan for net.
00:27:55
Like he's a good 12 punch guy.
00:27:58
And that's why I think Seattle really needs, you know, put him up with a shop ending.
00:28:02
Travis, Homer and Rubber termed the fees in selling the team.
00:28:06
I mean, like, okay, lets you get a step receipt get a second running back or so you know, you'll have to rely on Wilson DK Metcalf.
00:28:14
Entire Alakay.
00:28:15
Offensively, Will Diz Lee.
00:28:17
So you know, I think this was a very smart move by Seattle for sure.
00:28:21
And Philip Door set Could Angra Golson? Yeah, Yeah, they know they've been active.
00:28:29
I'll tell you that.
00:28:30
And before Sam goes the NFC West, one of the toughest divisions, I think the two tubs divisions in NFL both in the NFC, NFC South with because people besides of buccaneers and saying they're gonna fight out for that division.
00:28:42
Some people say that Falcons could be a wire corn team.
00:28:44
I don't believe that, but it is possible.
00:28:46
I'm saying it's possible.
00:28:48
But the NFC West, the Cardinals were gonna be drug master, you know, they're definitely gonna be improved this year.
00:28:55
You got the reigning NFC champs, 40 Niners and the Seahawks, who also made the playoffs last year as a wild card team.
00:29:00
So this isn't good for helping them win this NFC West.
00:29:05
Yeah, for sure.
00:29:06
I agree with both of you.
00:29:07
This this makes sense from the Seahawks perspective.
00:29:10
You know, I I really like Carlos Hyde last year on the Texans.
00:29:14
I thought it was by far, you know, his most solid year.
00:29:17
He was very consistent throughout as well.
00:29:19
And yet he just seems like a guy that you know, goes to work. Doesn't complain.
00:29:23
You know, Unlike Devante Freeman, on the other hand, like like Grant was saying, I think it makes sense for the Seahawks or just to just go with him.
00:29:31
You know, Carlos Hyde, you know, is is ah, he has a He has a little bit of experience.
00:29:37
I believe he's like, 29 years old or something like that.
00:29:40
And yeah, you know, he why not stack up at the running back position if you're Seattle? Because, as you guys mentioned, they have had plenty of injuries.
00:29:48
So he's a great backup plan to have, if you know, if need be.
00:29:51
So from a Seahawks perspective, Yeah, it definitely makes sense.
00:29:55
And as you said, Isaac, there they've been making.
00:29:58
They've been making, They've been very active.
00:30:00
They've been making moves in this off season and what is a very stacked NFC West, I think the best division still in football, So yeah, I think it makes sense from from Seattle perspective and the thing to see.
00:30:12
You know what kind of role Carlos Hyde plays in it.
00:30:16
But yeah, if you know, if you know Carson is is Injure is still injured for the start of the season, isn't available.
00:30:23
And if, if more, you know running backs get injured for the Seahawks that are in front of hide, he's a pretty good backup option.
00:30:30
Tohave, if you ask me.
00:30:31
So, yeah, I like the move from Seattle's Yeah, let's move on to Eli.
00:30:36
Apple was now on the Carolina Panthers again quarterback who started off his career on the Giants last year on the same side now on the Panthers with Teddy Bridgewater.
00:30:45
So hey, who wants to solve with this first Sam going? Yeah, sure.
00:30:50
Um, I mean, it's interesting how you lie.
00:30:52
Apples kind of bounced around lately.
00:30:54
As he said, I I remember him.
00:30:56
You know.
00:30:57
He was with the Giants for a few years, I believe.
00:30:59
And then, yeah, he was He was okay with the Saints.
00:31:02
I think, um I mean, I think maybe you'll apple's a little overrated.
00:31:09
Not not too much, but I think I think, you know, maybe he can make an impact for the Panthers.
00:31:16
I just don't know.
00:31:17
For whatever reason, I'm not too high on July Apple.
00:31:20
So I don't know how big of an impact he's gonna make for this Carolina defense, but yet find out.
00:31:26
I mean, hell, I Apple, like you say, is very interesting because he has been best around.
00:31:30
A lot of that is a good depth piece, but can't last cover using him as is not number 2/4 printer.
00:31:35
And you know, when the Giants tried to use the alarm on plus their number two corner Oh, dear.
00:31:41
So I don't really know what Caroline's game plan is, you know, wherever they target another corner, I mean, but I doubt that Mimi ally apples, pretty serviceable.
00:31:51
I was a huge police.
00:31:52
Should be 1/3 string corner on the majority of the League of Carolina would fit someone to talk to, which is definitely where kind of lines got playing the least week one.
00:32:00
It's kind of interesting.
00:32:01
I mean, you like Applebee's fence around, He said, okay, ish years had Cem like a couple of good years, I have had some really battling as well, so he was just a flip of a calling.
00:32:11
You really don't know what you're gonna get and we still relatively young and leave you drop in 2016.
00:32:17
So the guys like, plainly for 45 years, so no.
00:32:20
So play time to develop.
00:32:22
But I'd say if he doesn't work out Carolina, his career may may start to hit a wall and might be seen the end of it.
00:32:30
Yeah.
00:32:31
Look, we know the Panthers are gonna be the last in Activision, but look, I'm a big believer on Teddy Bridgewater.
00:32:37
Um, he's I'm a big fan of him.
00:32:39
I really like him again.
00:32:41
Here's the But I think he was the best backup Q B last year in the NFL, yet he had the best man and raining, but that means nothing.
00:32:49
But no, he again, he's a mobile. Q b.
00:32:52
Kristen make capture is gonna help him, but let's look at the killing.
00:32:55
Apparently receiving corps New wide receiver Robby Anderson, D J.
00:32:59
Moore was good.
00:33:00
Curtis Samuel even Seth Roberts from the Ravens.
00:33:05
Well, the Caroline appeared this out.
00:33:06
No hope in this NFC self.
00:33:09
Well, let's say they were in a division like the A F C East you know, if you replace them with the Jets, I feel that the Carolina Panthers could be that second spot in the A F C East better than the Dolphins and patrons says here.
00:33:20
But they were in a bad division.
00:33:22
So Eli Apple again, you know, maybe you're gonna get a few interceptions off Tom Brady because he's not that good anymore.
00:33:28
But no, I mean, look, this is not really helping the Carolina Panthers in any way.
00:33:33
I mean, maybe when they play these teams outside of the NFC cell, But look, let's be realistic.
00:33:38
They can't let a pantos with Teddy Bridgewater could actually be good, but they're gonna look bad when you see them forth.
00:33:44
And that's NFC South standing.
00:33:46
So and he thoughts about, you know, Bridgewater on the Panthers.
00:33:50
And if they want a F c East what their standings will be because I think that's interesting.
00:33:55
I'm a big fan of Bridgewater.
00:33:56
McCaffrey is a beast, and they have a pretty good wide receiving corps again.
00:34:00
Anderson, who's coming off his best year, 1000 plus receiving yards, D.
00:34:04
J.
00:34:05
Moore is great card of Samuel and set the rival.
00:34:07
See what I mean, yes, he's not that good, but he's good.
00:34:11
Depth run over.
00:34:14
Yeah.
00:34:15
So, Grant, we want any thoughts about, you know, a F C East with the Panthers or anything about the Panthers? Yeah.
00:34:20
I mean, definitely is interesting in that court for a lot of teams, you know, that is which reactions every of the year, you know, see how they do.
00:34:28
Like like, for example, like, I think if you switch like the pant, there's like the Rand for, like, the Dolphins and like the Jets and the A f C.
00:34:36
Still acting the Rams and Panthers, when you know, probably end up being the top two teams.
00:34:40
Activision unless, you know, stupid turns into a, you know, freaky tour back locked away match.
00:34:47
Well, I think they would, you know, probably finish over Buffalo because since already pretty stacked divisions, that kind of, you know, that exactly a bad team.
00:34:56
But they're gonna be finishing fourth in that division, which is gonna sting.
00:35:00
Although they may have a record of, like, seven and nine, which in reality is that that Saturday more well, is that ****? That's exactly horrible.
00:35:08
Release you in the playoff picture until like week 16 are so so seven Design movement, 79 per be stricken and then a feast, actually, so exactly.
00:35:18
I mean, yeah.
00:35:19
I mean, you could say that for a lot.
00:35:21
Teams, you switch up the vision every other year.
00:35:23
I mean, you really you can really say that about any team.
00:35:27
I think a lot seems to do back.
00:35:28
They work in the divisions that they were in, but and it's true news.
00:35:34
It's where that I'm holding saying this with Teddy Bridgewater. But let's be realistic.
00:35:37
If Cam Newton and it wasn't a troublemaker when he was like, still good, like anyone, even a little wolf someone, he was MPP.
00:35:44
I feel like I should be saying that the Carolina Panthers would be good team, but I guess now Robby Anderson adds funds of uh, that makes 13 better.
00:35:53
But look, they can't run a Panthers for good team.
00:35:57
Please do not look at their record.
00:35:58
You know, that's something that you have toe look this year I mean, and I'm gonna say, Look at Christian McCaffrey statistics because let's look at the Carolina Panthers record.
00:36:08
Last year wasn't that good, But look, the Carolina Panthers are solid team.
00:36:13
They don't have a backup of a defense and Eli Apple again, he could be overrated.
00:36:17
I I definitely agree with you, Sam.
00:36:19
So who knows what this Carolina Panthers teams doing because they have no hope, right? I mean, I guess.
00:36:26
What are they saying? Come on, Christian.
00:36:28
McCaffrey.
00:36:29
Get 2000 rushing owns.
00:36:30
That's what we're trying to get this year.
00:36:31
But, I mean, the Carolina Panthers fan base, I would say, Oh, like the Patriots, Right? Let's see Stadium grow.
00:36:39
But Bridgewater is already a veteran.
00:36:41
You know what? You gonna wait for him to grow? I mean, the hairline appearances were running out of time to make the playoffs.
00:36:46
So that's one thing.
00:36:49
Yeah.
00:36:50
I mean, it's it's a really good point.
00:36:51
You know? It stinks that they're in the division.
00:36:54
They are in for the for the Carolina Panthers, you know, it could be I could be a whole different outlook on their season if they were in, you know, the A F C East or something, Even though their record, you know, it would be similar.
00:37:06
Maybe a slightly better since you know, be playing two times a year.
00:37:09
Teams that are worse than the teams in the NFC South.
00:37:13
But, you know, uh, I mean, for the Panthers, I went flat out.
00:37:17
Just go ahead and say they're gonna be in fourth.
00:37:19
I I still think they could possibly be in third.
00:37:23
I don't know why people are, like, super high on the Falcons.
00:37:25
I just Yeah, I don't know.
00:37:28
Yeah, I'm really going to do that.
00:37:29
That's gonna is not more James carries a team, Really? I mean, look, you do have Julio Jones and cabin with you.
00:37:37
Grant on Madden's dream said was a good do.
00:37:39
Oh, yeah, I got it all set that.
00:37:42
But look what's in the Falcon like, not Ryan.
00:37:44
I hate like absolution.
00:37:46
Hey, I don't know that you let the pants the Patriots come back, but I don't know what a very great, but he is not going to carry that offense.
00:37:55
Their site Titan is Jake Graham.
00:37:57
So yes, it was.
00:37:59
You know what? I I think it's hated Merced this year.
00:38:05
Oh, right.
00:38:06
You got him.
00:38:07
Wear another one.
00:38:09
That's overrated too.
00:38:10
He's just like you like apple.
00:38:12
You know, I think you didn't.
00:38:14
Hearst is going to be one of the most underrated tight ends this year, Many ESPN ****yst it.
00:38:19
He's gonna have a great year this year, and I actually believe in that.
00:38:24
But when you look at the Falcons, I mean, other than the additional girly, it's pretty much the same team in.
00:38:29
They've disappointed you're up for a year now, and let's be really you know, no matter how good a running back is, he can't really change a team all that much.
00:38:38
Panthers.
00:38:39
They made a move at quarterback, and I'm high on Teddy Bridgewater as well, so I'm more optimistic about the Panthers.
00:38:44
You know, we'll see how Teddy Bridgewater does now that he's a starter in a new organization.
00:38:48
But I think you know there's more reason to be optimistic for Carolina because obviously a quarterback can completely change the team, you know, in a season compared to the year before, so that's just my over.
00:39:01
I'll look between the between the Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Falcons, so I wouldn't rule out, you know, the Carolina Panthers possibly finishing and there, although I think them in the Falcons will be right near each other in the standings, but and this is the thing.
00:39:15
Yeah, a side of science, Grant.
00:39:17
But many ESPN ****yst actually think hate enough.
00:39:20
You know, I was gonna have a great year.
00:39:22
And they say it could be one of the most underrated tight ends in the NFL.
00:39:26
More than Kosecki.
00:39:27
And, you know, be a sleeper in fantasy football.
00:39:31
Well, look, there's also Austin Group was now the highest paid tighter, and Austin Hooper was a big part of their offense.
00:39:36
Again, Hayden hopes Swampy has gonna toss the trooper, but hated North's.
00:39:40
Doesn't you know, again, he was a backup tight end behind Mark Andrews on the Ravens.
00:39:45
It may be a throw in string, tight and behind Nick Boyle.
00:39:48
Yeah, he actually could have been 1/3 string tight.
00:39:50
And now he's gonna be the starting tighter.
00:39:51
And I expect big things from him and many other people do, too.
00:39:55
But falcons, I don't know why people are high on them, but again, I am.
00:39:59
Actually, I'm actually excited talking about this.
00:40:02
I'm excited to watch Teddy Bridgewater this year.
00:40:04
I really am Christian McCaffrey and Robbie.
00:40:07
I actually am.
00:40:08
I mean, this could be it.
00:40:14
I mean, hey, this It could be exciting watching them.
00:40:17
Obviously, the Buccaneers is gonna you know, you're watching Godwin and Evans and don't see what ground does.
00:40:22
And of course, the Ravens.
00:40:24
What? Come on, Jackson do when he scrambles.
00:40:26
How ****in got, you know, home saw the ball, But for the Carolina Panthers, you know Bridgewater? He's a mobile kidney. He's veteran.
00:40:34
I think he's gonna be great again.
00:40:36
Are you high on him, Grant? I think Bridge OIR.
00:40:39
Yeah, I appreciate parents wire.
00:40:40
If you could say healthy, I would imagine you would put up, you know, slightly better numbers and what he did in Minnesota.
00:40:46
And, you know, it was pretty go breaking, so oh, definitely say Bridgewater stays healthy place full 16 game season.
00:40:52
I can't really see him pulling.
00:40:54
Not maybe 25 touchdowns.
00:40:56
I wouldn't see that many interceptions, you know, maybe like most of 500 rushing yards.
00:41:01
Couple rushing.
00:41:02
Jeez, I can't really see him doing very well, Especially with Matt Rule.
00:41:05
Now.
00:41:06
Is that new coach? I think you might develop them well more than run.
00:41:08
Romero would.
00:41:09
So I have high hopes for Tay Bridge where I think you'll do pretty good this year.
00:41:14
And I think Christian McCaffrey helps him.
00:41:16
Right? Maybe that rushing yards going to go down for Bridgewater because you're McCaffrey.
00:41:21
But Makassar is gonna get those touchdowns and help the Panthers went.
00:41:26
You know what I'm saying? So yes, you I mean, look, Bridgewater, to be honest, if Ryan Fitzpatrick led the dolphins and rushing yards, why can't McAfee Why can't Bridgewater get more washing up some McCaffrey home? Okay, what a Bridgewater.
00:41:43
I You know he did You see how much touched up? There was something last year.
00:41:49
Like if he got a touchdown, he would get a contract, Not a contract extension would get more money.
00:41:54
You? Yeah, a bonus.
00:41:57
And because Jewish was injured for a few weeks and when birth water came in, he did great.
00:42:04
Yes, you have Michael Thomas.
00:42:05
But that's really it.
00:42:07
No, I'm saying be he beat the Seahawks in Seattle.
00:42:12
I okay? Yeah.
00:42:16
Like who? Like who does that letter Them? I'm very original.
00:42:21
Impressed me a lot less year.
00:42:22
Told me all the states are loaded. All you walk.
00:42:25
But a good quarterback doesn't win those games, so exactly.
00:42:29
I mean, you're one in Seattle, you know? Look, they have James Winston now.
00:42:35
me maybe called a better backup, then Bridgewater.
00:42:39
But again? Oh, I don't think so.
00:42:42
Again.
00:42:43
Look, James Winston just does the right.
00:42:45
You have a manual sandals and Michael Thomas, but he may just show two merchant exceptions that you might as well have birds.
00:42:51
One right? You know, you just think of James Winston has a better back up just cause he was a starting Q B, and I understand he was an average starting to be right.
00:42:58
Terrible, because there's so much interceptions.
00:43:00
But he didn't lead the league in passing yards, saying They say he's average, So you would think he's a, you know, about way above average backup.
00:43:07
But Bridgewater could be better than James once said.
00:43:10
As a backup, you don't know. Yeah.
00:43:12
Award.
00:43:14
Yeah.
00:43:15
Listen, Grant rightly says that said that, uh, Bridgewater was great at Minnesota, but yeah, you guys touched on even last year with New Orleans.
00:43:22
I mean, obviously he had great weapons, but listen, he was that six games that he had that he had to start because of Breeze because of the injury to Drew Brees, and he Romina like That's no easy task to fill in the shoes of Drew Brees, One of the best quarterbacks in the league.
00:43:37
I think he went, like, five and one or five or something.
00:43:40
You don't have any losses? Yeah. Yeah, I think it was five.
00:43:43
And Oh, yeah, exactly.
00:43:44
So I remember because after that troopers injury, You know, everyone was like, Oh, no, this the things are gonna are gonna probably have, like, an even record while breezes out there, seating in the playoffs is going to go down.
00:43:56
But no, that was not the case at all.
00:43:59
And Teddy Bridgewater definitely impressed.
00:44:01
And, you know, ultimately, ah, gave them.
00:44:04
Ah, high seeding, the good record.
00:44:05
And then we all know what happened in the playoffs eventually.
00:44:08
But, you know, I was impressed.
00:44:09
I was impressed with Bridgewater even last year in New Orleans, so Yeah, I'm definitely up on him for sure.
00:44:15
And then, uh, look, Bridgewater gets injured, then you have ah, where his name is P J.
00:44:20
Walker from.
00:44:21
I want that he's gonna play again.
00:44:24
We're getting way.
00:44:27
Move Teoh again.
00:44:29
He's on the Carolina Panthers.
00:44:30
But then we moved to Teddy Bridgewater.
00:44:31
Okay, This is the old sports Taxol, or sports or topics This is what we do.
00:44:36
So we want to entertain your viewers that let you guys hear our opinions.
00:44:40
So this is good.
00:44:41
I mean, for, you know, we may be talking about P.
00:44:43
J.
00:44:44
Walker now, but no Bridgewater.
00:44:45
I feel like and hopefully starts or six or ah, 16 games.
00:44:49
I mean, look.
00:44:51
Yeah, Look, uh, Carolina Panthers said their new coach, so I don't know if shot unpaid in Maine, Bridgewater.
00:44:58
Good. But again, I'm high on Bridgewater.
00:45:00
So it doesn't matter who the coaches Bridgewater is gonna do.
00:45:03
Good.
00:45:04
Yeah.
00:45:05
Also, just quick. Side note. P.
00:45:07
J.
00:45:08
Walker went to Temple and was coached by Matt Rule at Temple.
00:45:10
So that's what the connection was there.
00:45:13
Yeah, that was just Ah, a little a little bridge.
00:45:16
What is going to be the starter? But, you know, that's how Walker ended up in Carolina ultimately, because his that was his head coach in college.
00:45:24
But I should have seen P.
00:45:25
J.
00:45:26
Walker like, you know, I wonder if you'll go in if, like the Saints and the Buccaneers are crushing the Carolina Panthers.
00:45:33
But hopefully you know, on and I say, hopefully I bet he won't get in the way of Bridgewater.
00:45:37
You know who is playing time? I don't think he will.
00:45:41
Yeah.
00:45:42
I mean, look, I'm not XFL guy. No.
00:45:44
One of you commentating extra folk game.
00:45:46
Was that use? Um, I think both of us commenters.
00:45:49
Yeah, good amount of XFL Guide.
00:45:53
But if you could give the viewers, you know, stop starting with Sam ****ysis of a p. J. Walker.
00:46:02
He was the best quarterback in the league.
00:46:04
I mean, it only lasted five weeks, but still a new record leading that Houston rough.
00:46:10
Next team.
00:46:11
I think they were five.
00:46:12
I know the rough next.
00:46:13
When the season came, Yeah, P. J.
00:46:16
Walker was the main reason why.
00:46:17
I mean, he was just impressive game in game out, use putting up incredible numbers.
00:46:22
I know it's the XFL, not the level of the NFL, obviously, but, you know, he he can throw it dp's From what I saw, he he's very common.
00:46:31
The pocket, and I was impressed by what I what I saw.
00:46:34
And ultimately, when I heard that he got signed by an NFL team, I wasn't that surprised because he was definitely, I think, the best player in the XFL from the from the five weeks it lasted.
00:46:45
So, yeah, I definitely think it's deserving for sure.
00:46:49
Yeah, I thought it was Well, I mean, I notice you know what Big your locker was on the cult's I mean, you just playing pre season games? No.
00:46:56
No one really knew who this guy was going when he went over to the XFL.
00:47:00
Really? Lead that Houston Roughnecks team toe where they were and ultimately, season.
00:47:05
Then, you know, and I think they would have probably end up going the XFL a championship? Yes, maybe, but yeah, I mean, he was very elusive, very common.
00:47:13
The pocket, you know, we throw in their section of the next driving through, like an 80 yard touchdown.
00:47:19
You know, he quickly redeemed himself whenever he made mistakes.
00:47:23
And that's why else is the NFL coaches look at when you're trying to pick, you know, these unknown stars? Hopefully.
00:47:29
So I think that was my reason board as well, because, I mean, you show flashes of potential for your very elusive, you know, he has a cannon of an arm and yeah, maybe.
00:47:39
Well, the XFL, you know? Hey, maybe you know, being a backup, learning from tape bridge war for a couple years and maybe this Bridgewater.
00:47:46
You know, contractors work out at least the last couple years behind him.
00:47:50
May be the year to Walker. Could be the starter.
00:47:52
I'm getting way off the rails, but a We could get crazy.
00:47:54
You maybe Walker, you know, hairs round of playoffs in a walker.
00:47:58
Could start the week 17 gamer.
00:48:00
They could use him in the Wildcats.
00:48:02
You concerned that you may be at Bridgewater.
00:48:05
Goes to the Patriots.
00:48:06
You have? Ah, Walker has the okay.
00:48:10
You're crazy.
00:48:12
Got check it.
00:48:13
Bluebell checks the culture brewed water Bridge.
00:48:15
What? I have high expectations.
00:48:17
I have.
00:48:18
I have a top five in the league and, uh, passing years.
00:48:23
They hate the reporters while you're at it.
00:48:25
Hey, Gina.
00:48:27
Heuristic.
00:48:28
I mean, Bridgewater couldn't be top five.
00:48:30
Know he could be top 10 in NFL in total touchdowns.
00:48:33
You have something that maybe two or three rushing touchdowns for himself and, uh, you know, passing touchdowns through Robby Anderson is a big addition like he's coming on again.
00:48:45
Carlos Hyde, Robby Anderson.
00:48:46
They're having confidence coming off their best years, and Anderson is coming off his best year on A that offense were Sam.
00:48:54
Donald, you know, you know, you should do better on the Carolina Panthers that you think about it.
00:49:01
Okay, let's get on your next topic.
00:49:07
Emmy Award.
00:49:08
So this has been, you know, some, you know, ESPN, you, Stephen a. Smith.
00:49:13
While it's going be a while, we're running for the FDA to decided now.
00:49:17
Playoff format.
00:49:19
We Oh, good night.
00:49:22
Talk about, You know, I want nd award predictions.
00:49:24
But speaking of that, while we do that, we're going to get a special guest on our show to help us.
00:49:30
He's just gonna be on just for telling us about the N B A awards, but we're gonna go through NDP Coach of the Year Rookie of the year, Most improved player and defensive Player of the Year.
00:49:41
So, again, Special Guest is on the show, and his name is Brad Smith again.
00:49:48
You can follow him on SportsCastr at Brad Smith.
00:49:50
We're gonna get amount in just a second.
00:49:54
Okay, So Brad Smith again is gonna help us.
00:49:56
Me, Grant, Sam and Brad are gonna give our opinions On who, Uh, our envy award predictions again that he is going straight to the playoffs.
00:50:07
So again, these awards will already be, you know, decided.
00:50:12
So here is Brad Smith.
00:50:19
Uh, ago.
00:50:21
Let's work of Rat Smith in here. Let's go. Come on.
00:50:23
Your right. Your bread.
00:50:24
Hey, thanks for many years.
00:50:27
Yes, of course.
00:50:29
So just like that, we're gonna get right into en before prediction.
00:50:35
So we're gonna start with the NDP again.
00:50:37
The best award, the you know, the best thing you can get, right? You obviously want to be an N b A Finals champion.
00:50:43
So you want to call the N B A Finals champion? But many people have called that right.
00:50:47
All the players on the team.
00:50:48
But there's only one NT deeper season.
00:50:51
Not in the end.
00:50:52
They'll be a l M v p in Anil BP.
00:50:54
Now it's just NDP.
00:50:56
So look this This is mainly between the LeBron James and Johannes.
00:51:00
I think you guys could agree with that.
00:51:03
So we're just gonna go around, We're gonna go toe me that Brad, then sat and friend, I'm gonna go with the honest again.
00:51:09
Yannis LeBron, I'm just gonna go with you, honest, Because look, Yonas have LeBron or both leading their teams, but the Bucks surprisingly have the best record in the n B A Onley eight losses.
00:51:21
I, you know when season ended or something like that.
00:51:25
And yes, they do have Chris Middleton.
00:51:27
And again the Lakers have a D.
00:51:28
So I feel like people say, Oh, well, Chris Middleton is also helping the Bucks.
00:51:32
But then you say, Well, eighties, also helping the books, Also hoping the Laker.
00:51:36
But the Lakers have better players than the Bucks do.
00:51:39
So I feel like Johannes has just right.
00:51:41
If the Lakers have better players, that you should have the better record.
00:51:45
But you know, I feel like again Yannis is, you know, again, I think he's a nominee for another award, will talk about.
00:51:55
But be honest.
00:51:56
I think it's not an easy decision again.
00:51:59
People who love the bronze, they can pick him.
00:52:01
This can be close, like really close, you know, and I'm just gonna go theon it.
00:52:06
Brett, what do you say? Probably just LeBron James.
00:52:10
I mean, just keeping it short and simple. If you guys.
00:52:14
His player efficiency rating is 26 that's top five in the N B.
00:52:18
A 25.
00:52:19
7 points per game.
00:52:21
It's 10.
00:52:22
6 assists per game and then 7.
00:52:23
9 rebounds per game.
00:52:25
He's putting up triple doubles left and right.
00:52:28
He's really lead the Lakers to a great record, 49 14.
00:52:33
You know, he's really got Anthony Davis, his full potential.
00:52:36
Um, and I mean, he's probably the Lakers to another title, so we'll see.
00:52:41
But I definitely think he's the M v p.
00:52:44
No.
00:52:45
Let me ask you, Brad.
00:52:46
What's insurance will resemble? What makes Because lucky here your statistics, right? That's tremendous statistics, but a d uh, the honest is kind of in the same boat.
00:52:55
So what makes LeBron went and BP Verse? Yes, it's just his impact on the floor, right? We see.
00:53:03
Whenever he comes off and goes on to the bench, the Lakers start to come a worse team.
00:53:08
They don't have that great leader on the floor against quality teams.
00:53:12
Like when he comes off on the floor, that's the Clippers or the Bucks, or even teams like the Heat.
00:53:18
You kind of become the team becomes worse overall, and I start to, you know, become a worst team.
00:53:24
Um and I mean he's just a very valuable player for the Lakers, and I mean, be honest is as well.
00:53:30
But I just think LeBron's popularity, I guess, might help your interest trip.
00:53:37
And that's what I said.
00:53:38
You know, LeBron, you know, could get all the voters the you know, the FDA voters to vote.
00:53:44
NDP could pick LeBron, you know, but Sam and BP Yeah, I think it's easily honest.
00:53:52
Angela Combo, actually, just because, as you mentioned Isaac, you know there is less talent on the Bucks, and I think it's way more surprising.
00:54:00
You know, the way he's led that Milwaukee team to the record they currently have, with just still single digit losses this deep into the regular season.
00:54:10
Because for me personally, just I I could predict, you know, before the season, I would have never thought the Bucks would be this stacked on.
00:54:19
The season would have gone this well for them so far.
00:54:21
And, of course, the honest is the main.
00:54:23
The main reason why, obviously, you know, it's a solid Milwaukee team, but they don't have as much talent as the Lakers.
00:54:29
As he said, You know, I envision the Lakers, you know, have it having the record they currently have, especially after they got Anthony Davis.
00:54:35
So LeBron James definitely has a lot more help in my mind and just watching you honest night in, night out.
00:54:41
He is just a beast.
00:54:42
He's just the best player in the league.
00:54:44
When I watch him every single game, I mean, you can't stop him went 20 when he drives to the lane and you just have to get out of the way.
00:54:53
You know he has.
00:54:54
He has incredible dunks.
00:54:56
His athleticism is insane.
00:54:58
He can also hit some some outside shots.
00:55:01
Aziz well, and I think the key thing that gives the honest the M V p is his work defensively.
00:55:07
I think like every minute he honest is on the four, he's gonna everything you got.
00:55:10
That's not a knock on LeBron James.
00:55:12
I know he's getting up there in age and stuff like that in Sam defensive player, so I kind of gave a hint at the Yeah, I know we're gonna get, But ultimately, like, I think that's what you know, really, really, you know, solidifies my statement and that he he should be the MVP quite easily because he's just incredible defensively as well.
00:55:34
He has so many blocks, Um, and he's just tremendous on on the other end of the floor to not just on the offensive side of things.
00:55:42
And I think that's really crucial because, you know, the NBA's kind of become a league where we're seeing more points than ever.
00:55:47
And there's just offense, offense, offense.
00:55:50
But, you know, you honest, I think part of it is well, coming from Europe, where you know he had he had to earn it and stuff like that.
00:55:59
I feel like you know, some people.
00:56:02
It's not a knock on LeBron James once again because, you know, even high school.
00:56:05
He was projected to be, you know, Ah, great player.
00:56:08
But Yonas had so had to work his way up.
00:56:10
No one really knew about him.
00:56:11
And until he became the star, he became, you know, just a couple years back.
00:56:16
And, you know, I think I think a lot of those you know, foreign players from Europe and and even Africa.
00:56:24
I think you know, they they just have to earn it more than you know.
00:56:27
The kids do coming up here through the ranks in the US I mean he had to.
00:56:33
He had to earn his place in the N b A.
00:56:35
And that hard work definitely paid off for him, and he just gives it everything he's got when he's on the floor and he's an absolute beast.
00:56:41
I think is easily the best player in the league this year, and maybe part of my decision factors into that.
00:56:48
LeBron James is my most hated player in the league just because I am a Celtics.
00:56:51
And but, you know, we're gonna leave that aside, I even even if I love LeBron James, I I would still go with the honest.
00:56:58
He's been the best player in the league to me the whole season and the most valuable player, most importantly, because that's what the award ultimately is.
00:57:06
And he's been very valuable for that Bucks team without LeBron James and the Lakers, obviously, you know, obviously they wouldn't be as good, but they still have the likes of Anthony Davis and stuff like that, whereas if you take the honest out of that Bucks team, I don't know where those endings really.
00:57:24
So yeah, that's why I go with you on this.
00:57:26
Ultimately, I mean what's funny.
00:57:28
You know, I'm drying out to get ahead to the other awards by Brook Lopez.
00:57:32
Wait, He's somehow a nominee for the defensive player of the year.
00:57:36
Yeah, I wrote he's a great defensive player, but he is not that good on offense of side of things.
00:57:41
So it's really Middleton.
00:57:42
I mean, yeah, Eric Bledsoe is, you know, just okay, you know, and they're not gonna make your team good.
00:57:49
But of course, you know, good to get some points for you.
00:57:52
You know, you could win a game for you, but you know, not gonna kill you, so yeah, you're absolutely corrupt, Sam.
00:57:58
You get the kid, you hit the cat on the nail that, uh um getting that right So great Yanis or Librato, do you have someone else? Ever. Whatever.
00:58:10
I was gonna talk about Johannes, because I do have the honest winning every p.
00:58:14
Whatever point, I was gonna make sense.
00:58:16
This kept on just nailing a nail it nail in every fantastic player.
00:58:21
We'll get to that a little bit.
00:58:22
I think you will probably end appoint the defensive player of the year as well.
00:58:25
But I think overall I mean, yeah, you race Yana scented in Group A with them.
00:58:30
You just have first Milton, like maybe Brook Lopez Wells.
00:58:35
Nobody, really.
00:58:36
I mean, I think the bucks as something you know, they'd be a playoff.
00:58:39
Do you know where your best humanly your racial playing? You no longer playoff.
00:58:42
But I still say the Bucks would be about the 67 seed and set the first.
00:58:47
And yeah, overall, I could see LeBron James being conversation may be quiet, Leonard, but yeah, overall, I would definitely say, uh, be honest with you this year.
00:58:59
Getting in the difference.
00:59:00
My bad Brook Lopez was like the top five for best defensive, but not my bed.
00:59:07
It wasn't really good.
00:59:09
Um, let's let's now talk about defensive player of the year since we got into that boat again.
00:59:17
It's between the Lakers and Bucks player, but not LeBron.
00:59:20
But yes, you honest Yannis.
00:59:22
And now 80 82nd and eyes the nominee with, uh, there's a few nominees, but these are based.
00:59:29
I'm just gonna be telling in the top two again you guys could have, although than the top two right.
00:59:35
But for the defense, it's really returning to players 80 and Johannes.
00:59:38
I'm gonna go off.
00:59:39
The honest I'm not going to have any reasoning is basically the same as MPP.
00:59:43
Just a great defensive player again.
00:59:45
His defensive skills or helping the Bucks had that good record, but we'll let up Brad Explain and Sam and Grant, why 80 should truly one defensive player of you.
00:59:56
Yeah, I just think that Johannes I mean, there's not really too much that's to go into here.
01:00:01
It's just that great of a defensive player.
01:00:03
He's really changed the culture of the Bucks defensively.
01:00:06
He's made his teammates.
01:00:08
He's made Malcolm Brogden, Chris Middleton.
01:00:10
He's made them each better defensive players on that side of the ball on, and that's really helped.
01:00:17
You know, the Bucks have one of the best records get 53 12.
01:00:20
It's just their stifling defense.
01:00:22
That's what we gonna get them far in the playoffs.
01:00:25
But just like Isaac, there's not a lot of reason to go around.
01:00:28
But you honest wins defensive player of the year in my book.
01:00:34
Yeah, I I agree.
01:00:36
Ultimately, although I will say, you know, I think the honestly the defensive player of the year between A D and Yonas I think it's I think it's closer than the gap between the honest and LeBron for M v P.
01:00:48
Yeah, I dio because anything ethnic Davis I mean, he's one heck of a defensive player.
01:00:53
I truly believe that.
01:00:54
I mean, he really is every time I see it is phenomenal.
01:00:58
But as as I mentioned for, you know what I was saying for why you on it should be the M v P.
01:01:03
It's because of his his defense of efforts.
01:01:05
I mean, he just he just phenomenal and yeah, as Brad kind of mentioned there.
01:01:10
I feel like every time you honest picks it up defensively and he always seems, seems to do just that when he's on the floor.
01:01:16
It really Ah, it really seems to get the rest of his team motivated and, you know, you know, sparks up sparks of flame for the whole Bucks team, and I think that shows you what kind of what kind of leader you honest is.
01:01:29
And, uh, yeah, he's just phenomenal defensively.
01:01:31
Every game I see him and he's coming up with spectacular blocks steals, you know, hustling back after making a bucket.
01:01:38
You know, unlike some other players, too are just like SingTel the crowd not even paying attention to get back on defense like front.
01:01:47
Now.
01:01:48
I was kidding, but anyway, but yeah, I I have to go with the honest ultimately for defensive player of the Year two.
01:01:52
He's one heck of a season, that's for sure.
01:01:55
Yeah.
01:01:57
Yeah.
01:01:58
Now going yelling this for defensive player of the year.
01:02:01
But Marcus Smart needs to be up there for consideration because the Celtics is the most team I watched, you know, in the end, be am He is pretty good defensively I heard you actually made.
01:02:15
And I mean, he surprised me quite.
01:02:17
But I know offensive site is not really that great, but I think he really makes it up on defense on you guys with me on that.
01:02:24
But I'm gonna be honest.
01:02:28
You put America smart on their there was gonna be touched, like I understand we're trying to say I think part of that is saying that this dropping, But do you actually think Marcus Smart could be like top five? Because he has Ben Simmons to be butler Rudy Gobert on Nicole Yokich.
01:02:42
I can name tons of people over markers guessing several.
01:02:48
I mean, I understand.
01:02:50
Marcus Merz.
01:02:51
Winner.
01:02:53
I don't really watch a whole lot of the MBA course your phone, your sports.
01:02:56
Yes.
01:02:57
You know, more NFL, NHL, MLB type of guy.
01:03:00
Based on what I seen off, you know, the Celtics were Yeah.
01:03:05
Is the team I watch more because they live in the Massachusetts area.
01:03:08
I mean, I see Marcus Smart.
01:03:09
You know, he does really good.
01:03:11
I mean, I know that may have been, you know, a couple of years ago by silly is so pretty strong defensively.
01:03:17
So I like what I've seen from him this year.
01:03:19
Maybe not I would climb up their consideration.
01:03:21
I know most people probably won't, but yeah, I mean, I can talk about it, but look, Marcus Smart.
01:03:28
Yeah, he's a good defense department.
01:03:29
I'm saying there was much more.
01:03:31
Definitely better on defense spurs than him.
01:03:33
I mean, even Jimmy, but he and I have no bias there, but I understand you're saying he's a great defense of playoff, but if you put him up there, there's gonna be, like, 20 other players Donovan, mitral, and leave Kawada.
01:03:45
Yeah, Yeah, more.
01:03:49
You have no.
01:03:51
Well, that's what Sam says about Marcus.
01:03:53
Ron means the Celtics, man.
01:03:55
Who is that Celtics inside or here on the horse court snatcher? Well, yeah.
01:03:59
I mean, yeah.
01:04:00
Grants, right? Like Marcus Smart.
01:04:02
I mean, for the most part, Yeah, I I watched him, you know, pretty much every Celtics game as well.
01:04:09
Uh, being from Massachusetts of being a huge Boston Celtics fan.
01:04:13
Yeah, I'd say mainly Marcus Smart.
01:04:15
He's that he has one of the best work ethics in the league.
01:04:19
Like he he hustles so much, He's diving at every ball, you know, trying to keep it in play and, you know, night and night out.
01:04:26
He's easily he's were through leader for the Celtics team, but yeah, there.
01:04:30
Ultimately, there's a number of players who just have better skill than him defensively when it all comes down to it.
01:04:36
But yeah, no, Great. Makes a good point.
01:04:38
Like, you know, obviously we're smart.
01:04:39
Not as as much of a well known name as you know, other players that rightly so you could in front of him for, ah, defensive Player of the year nominee.
01:04:49
But But yeah, I I think I think it's right to at least mention him because his woodwork, I think game in game out is truly incredible.
01:04:56
He's a leader of this time, for sure.
01:04:58
And you know, I got frustrated with him on offense sometimes cause once he hits the through, you'll start chucking up 15 more and hit and shooting bricks like 3/4 of the time.
01:05:08
But on defense? Yeah, his horse ethics incredible, for sure.
01:05:12
So I think, I think, even put him There is an honorable mention, but nothing mentioned.
01:05:16
But there's obviously like you said, Good.
01:05:19
You know, the great mentioned but those way more players, I'm saying, Yeah, I don't want your E I guess that's what was kind of going for boards. Like an honorable mention.
01:05:29
Yeah, because obviously, yeah, there's a lot of players I would probably put over start as well, now that really thinking about it.
01:05:35
But yeah, no use.
01:05:36
He's pretty good.
01:05:37
Overall, Janet do is a work ethic award.
01:05:39
I mean, Marcus, my would be up there, Obviously, Jimmy Butler.
01:05:42
He's strong Walker, but they're being players that we don't know who just have a right.
01:05:47
These players that are like the sit on the bench have the strongest, both ethic right, because they're trying to get in the starting lineup, so and that is true.
01:05:58
But Marcus Smart does sometimes go on the bench.
01:06:02
Yeah, it s usually, I mean, most of the time he start, but sometimes that seed he does come off the bench.
01:06:11
I'm surprised Gordon Hayward's been on eventual out this year.
01:06:14
I mean, I think he would be a star, you know, It's been injuries for Hayward that have really haunted, Really? I mean, he broke his hand earlier in the season against the Spurs.
01:06:25
He was out for a while.
01:06:26
Then he was back, and then he was getting on a roll once again.
01:06:29
And then, yeah, he injured his ankle.
01:06:32
Once again.
01:06:33
It's unfortunate.
01:06:34
I really feel bad for him.
01:06:35
It all started with her tragic injury against the Cavaliers.
01:06:39
I remember I was watching that game live and oh, man, it was awful, like you didn't know how long are from that.
01:06:47
And it just thinks because once he was finally back, he's now dealing with injury after injury, which is unfortunate to see.
01:06:53
And it seems like you know he's more conservative when he's playing to cause he he doesn't you know, wanna want to drive, You know he doesn't want to drive to the hoop because he's used.
01:07:03
He seems kind of, you know, a little frightened that, you know, just because of the experiences he's had, that he's gonna he's gonna get fouled.
01:07:10
And just because of his Luckett injured again, I feel like he's having trouble gaining confidence because you get he's just, you know, you just had bad luck, Really.
01:07:19
It's It's injury after injury for him.
01:07:21
So it's it's to better.
01:07:23
Yeah, great.
01:07:24
You are you aware from San, Um I like the Wizards a little bit, but I don't know.
01:07:30
I'm saying ready.
01:07:31
Bill grabbed the bills and go toe.
01:07:33
Tremendous player with high.
01:07:34
He wouldn't be up for any award.
01:07:36
I mean, most improved player, maybe, but he's not a nominee for that, But he's definitely improved a lot this year.
01:07:43
Hey, he win the award for the biggest All Star snow.
01:07:48
Yeah, that's true.
01:07:50
And let's we want to Rookie of the year.
01:07:52
Now this I think drama around for me.
01:07:56
But Zain just came too late.
01:07:58
Yeah, and yet when Brian came on, Zion was better than camera.
01:08:03
But obviously John Wrana I don't know if you look at yes, you try to look at high statistics.
01:08:09
But when you think of Zion obviously as low a statistics because he came the second half deal.
01:08:13
But for me, right, Kendrick Nunn's a nominee for the Heat.
01:08:17
Kendrick.
01:08:18
None would be the second if it wasn't for Zion and Stephen A.
01:08:21
Smith and other people said, Come on, Cyan.
01:08:23
Just sit out this whole year and start from day one, you know, saying sort from Game one instead of coming at the second half of the season.
01:08:32
But he came in.
01:08:33
I just I don't you know.
01:08:36
Yes, I have to say that Zion is, you know, more likely toe.
01:08:40
Yeah, I think. Drama.
01:08:42
Hands winning.
01:08:43
But if you have it between Zion and Kendrick Nunn on the heat, it would be Zion, which is crazy because Kendrick Nunn has played more get You know what I'm saying? So it's just that you know, Zions, even ahead of Kendrick, known when Kendrick Nunn's has been so good Anzai on hasn't played, you know he's playing less than half the games that can you're Gon has but Brad Zion or ah John said that I can't say Zion, Jumron or Kendrick non butch badly.
01:09:15
You know, Zion is just better than none.
01:09:18
You know, right? I mean, it has to be John Moran.
01:09:21
I mean, Zion was amazing the watching this 19 games that he played in, but it's just too little too late.
01:09:27
Uh, John Moran has led maybe one of the most exciting teams in the n B.
01:09:33
A Memphis Grizzlies, and he's just been dynamic, whether that, with his poster dunks were scribbling shooting.
01:09:39
He's just been a great great point guard for the Grizzlies, and you could also consider Brandon Clarke, his teammate on the Grizzlies.
01:09:48
I mean, he's probably not gonna get any votes, but he's definitely than another great work on that young team.
01:09:55
Yeah, Sam.
01:09:57
Yeah, I got to go with John Marin, who? I mean, yeah, to go along with what Brad said.
01:10:01
I mean, what? Any time John Moran has the ball in his hands, you feel like he's going to do something special.
01:10:07
I mean, his ball handling skills as well are incredible, and I just like, I just love watching John Moran overall.
01:10:14
I mean, uh, yeah, he's really lead this Grizzlies team this young Grizzlies team into, ah, playoff spot.
01:10:21
I believe Memphis are the eat seed right now in the West and ah, yeah, he's been awful.
01:10:26
Ah, lot of fun to watch.
01:10:27
And I mean, I just like Moran story, too.
01:10:30
I mean, he went to a small school in western Kentucky, Murray State, and then last year, he led them to I believe it was the round of 32 in March Madness, and that's when he caught the eyes of people because he literally carried that Murray State team.
01:10:43
I can't name another guy who was on that team, and but then, you know, people were like, All right, let's see how he doesn't MBI And he's just exploded in his rookie year.
01:10:50
And, yes, Zion Williamson.
01:10:52
Obviously, he's hyped up, rightly so.
01:10:55
I mean, he's been incredible in this few games back, But you said Isaac, he just hasn't played enough, and it would be really, really, really disrespectful toe to not give the award to John Moran because he's been playing since the beginning of the season.
01:11:08
And, yeah, as Brad said as well, he, whether it's his poster dunks, is is ah, you know, fancy moves three point shots.
01:11:17
He's been incredible all season long and unfortunately, resigned Williamson.
01:11:21
He just didn't get enough games under his belt to get this award.
01:11:24
And I think you've got no other option but to give it to John Marin as well, because it would just be disrespectful if you didn't.
01:11:31
He's been incredible for the Grizzlies team has put them in a playoff position.
01:11:35
So, yeah, I got I got to go with Marantz.
01:11:37
Yeah, that's that's definitely fax.
01:11:41
Great.
01:11:43
Yeah, it doesn't go with Moran as well.
01:11:45
I mean that there's really no explanation.
01:11:47
You guys basically said Desire Williams and he really hasn't played.
01:11:52
You know enough games yet.
01:11:54
And you know, I'm pretty familiar with stocks is while I like what Carson that were just dumb.
01:11:58
But he's just simply nowhere near Moran doors Ion or any of the other rookies you really mentioned for that matter self, you know, mea that quite a big rookies this year definitely give it to Miranda.
01:12:10
I think you know he has gone injured.
01:12:12
You know, we started the season since day one.
01:12:14
He's used, worked hard up to get to the point he's in.
01:12:18
I think It would definitely be a shame.
01:12:19
Feet in one this year.
01:12:23
Yeah, yes.
01:12:24
So let's go on to what? See, Uh oh, yeah.
01:12:30
Most improved player.
01:12:32
I'm not to go off my mind.
01:12:33
Heat Man.
01:12:34
Bam! Out of oil.
01:12:35
There's a bias.
01:12:36
And hey, Stephen A.
01:12:37
Smith.
01:12:38
Don't say the ban Maada Bio should win it.
01:12:39
So let's listen to Stephen A.
01:12:40
Smith.
01:12:41
No, I also I Look, I'm not that I probably Congo like, even if I had no bias, it's kind of hard to think if I had no bias, but I would say **** auto by.
01:12:51
I mean, don't just think Jimmy Butler let the team because he doesn't leave the team right.
01:12:57
He's good on defense and offense, but he doesn't shoot threes.
01:12:59
He can't carry the team and put them up 20 points.
01:13:02
It's been on a bio who we never had a triple double this season again.
01:13:06
He was a backup central behind Hassan Whiteside.
01:13:10
So now Whiteside gone.
01:13:11
He's been the starting power forward and center has been switching, and he's been tremendous, getting three triple doubles, and he had zero before this season, and he's just been great again.
01:13:20
Another nominee just So you guys know it's Brandon Ingram's.
01:13:24
So just say no Grab.
01:13:26
What do you think? Six.
01:13:28
Most improved player? Yeah, I think it's got to go to Band out of bio.
01:13:31
I mean, just literally from being a bench bench role player for the Heat.
01:13:36
Last season, this was became a one time All Star is averaging 16 points, 10 rebounds per game.
01:13:43
It's pretty impressive, I'll say.
01:13:45
And I mean, you could make a strong case for Brandon Ingram with this time with the Pelicans.
01:13:49
But I get banned from the Lakers.
01:13:52
Yeah, I think bam out of I was just on so much on the heat this year that it's just impossible, but not giving the award.
01:13:59
Yep, he but it could.
01:14:02
We have some, uh, something that waste into your decision.
01:14:05
He won the Taco Bell skill top challenge.
01:14:08
Oh, put that Put that toe way into your decision that he won the Taco Bell skills challenge and also get.
01:14:15
And what was amazing about that? Guys, if you don't know, Bam out of bio doesn't shoot threes, right? 80.
01:14:20
Who's taller than the bamboo shoots? Threes? Chris, stop supporting and shoot streets, but bandana Well, doesn't and part of the shot.
01:14:28
Part of the things that you have to do in the skills challenge was Shooter three, and he makes is the threes on the three.
01:14:35
The three rounds he was in.
01:14:37
So hope they got weighing your decision.
01:14:42
You with your most improved player.
01:14:44
Yeah, I mean, this one's tough.
01:14:45
In my opinion, there's been quite a number of players in the MBA who have improved significantly this season.
01:14:50
My opinion, as much as I want to go with my guy Jayson Tatum from the Celtics, because here's another Romney another way.
01:14:57
Yep, he was a nominee.
01:14:59
Yeah, make no mistake about it.
01:15:00
I mean, Jayson Tatum has had a breakout season.
01:15:03
I think he's improved significantly, and I think he's really the leader of the Celtics team.
01:15:07
And that says a lot when you have, you know, Amore Amore, veteran player in Kemba Walker on the team, and the Celtics reportedly are going to give him the Max contract.
01:15:16
Rightly so.
01:15:17
I think he's captain to be a superstar down the road in the next couple of years to come in the n b A, but ultimately I give it to look a Dawn Church because Dawn chit dentist, he's impressed me so much.
01:15:30
Luca Dawn Church.
01:15:32
This is then you know he's improved so much.
01:15:34
And for this Mavericks team, I mean, he's putting up incredible numbers, you know? You know the the matchups against the best players in the league with Dawn Church.
01:15:43
Whether it's against LeBron James Kawai Leonard, it's must see TV because it's always so fun to watch and don't achieve his numbers.
01:15:52
As I said, I've been so incredible, and I think he's just taken his game to a whole another level.
01:15:58
And I think he's playing, you know, a lot better than I would have ever thought that he would have performed the season.
01:16:05
He's been truly fun to watch for that Mavericks team.
01:16:09
So ultimately, I give Don Church, Uh, my vote for most Improved Player.
01:16:15
Actually, yeah, there was.
01:16:16
There was four nominees on the CBS list I had and we listen to, but yeah, Jayson Tatum Luca.
01:16:23
But this is why I don't think we don't.
01:16:25
I'm just giving my reasoning.
01:16:26
He is a tremendous player again, but he won rookie of the year last year, so he was great last year.
01:16:32
He's even better this year.
01:16:34
But he was a star last year also.
01:16:37
So how can you make him that improved if he's also announced or you know what I'm saying? So, yes, he definitely improved.
01:16:43
But I think of someone that dramatically improved like bam out of my own Jason Gram out of idle Tatum an ingram, right? Oh, yeah.
01:16:52
I'm not even saying I'm not even just seeing them on a bile Tatum more than Yeah, because, Luke Donald, you definitely improved.
01:16:59
But he was an All star last year, so I just don't think I'm seeing that much, much improvement.
01:17:04
You know what I'm saying? He definitely improved, but listen to what I will award.
01:17:09
And, like, I feel like I am out of bio Jayson Tatum deserve that award more.
01:17:14
You know what I'm saying? I mean, yeah, it's a fair point, but, I mean, just because look, a Dodgers won rookie of the year, I I still think, you know, the guy who's Rookie of the Year could be most improved player the next year.
01:17:25
I mean, don't get me wrong.
01:17:26
Don Church was great last year, but she was just a rookie and I think there were still plenty of improvements to be made in this game.
01:17:34
I I just ultimately think that Don Church has taken his game to a whole.
01:17:38
Another level.
01:17:39
He's one of the best players in the league, in my opinion, and it's just his ah history year in the season.
01:17:44
So that's why I go with dawn.
01:17:45
Church is a tough decision. My mind.
01:17:47
I mean bam at a bio, Jason 10 wicket, Dawn church, even Ingram.
01:17:50
They're all right there.
01:17:51
But I just have to give dawn church the edge.
01:17:53
Ultimately, when it comes to the most improved player, right, This might be a very unpopular opinion, but Carmelo Anthony plates pain with the rocks here.
01:18:11
Where way? I Okay, did him good.
01:18:22
I made everyone laugh.
01:18:23
You wanted? I don't know.
01:18:27
I mean, look, he me might be pretty played way More games.
01:18:32
I mean, used doing a good world, but I mean, Carmela and he basically took a year off of basketball after he was cut by the Rockets and literally became one of the premier forwards for the trouble.
01:18:48
Exorcist. Yes.
01:18:49
Alright, guys, this clips not gonna be in a coma, but for can you guys follow Instagram account that all sports talk show for different streams.
01:18:56
I'm gonna get highlights and screen record.
01:18:59
So for this one, I'm gonna put that highlight on our instagram.
01:19:01
Is that fund grant? Sure, sure, Yeah.
01:19:06
I try to get highlights for minds.
01:19:09
I know other people do that.
01:19:10
Obviously each show We're not gonna get highlights.
01:19:12
Like when I got air agreed.
01:19:14
You know, if we get someone on the show, we're gonna get some good highlights.
01:19:17
Like something really good.
01:19:19
Someone said so.
01:19:20
You know, it's too late now.
01:19:22
But when we had John Alba on our show last week, you know, he you know, he said that, you know, he was so close to that NASCAR crash.
01:19:31
So something like that, we would put us a pilot.
01:19:33
So that's the highlight of our show.
01:19:35
Ladies and gentlemen today, Grant, but but no boys grant a heat that improved.
01:19:39
He didn't prove get get back half way.
01:19:44
Technically speaking, Ugo, you know everyone putting the comments You are most improved, player.
01:19:53
And please don't put Carmelo Anthony.
01:19:55
Yes, it was a joke, but well, that's that's good for good.
01:19:59
I mean, you go.
01:20:00
I know, like my next assist a game.
01:20:03
Okay, that's terrible.
01:20:04
Okay, look, that sets before he sent him.
01:20:06
But yeah, I'm just looking at, uh but Sam was your What was your reaction? You were like, You like your you impressed that.
01:20:17
He said that too.
01:20:19
Hey, I mean, you will never doubt anything.
01:20:21
What went one Grant speaking.
01:20:23
I'll just put out that be ableto rises up the sleeves.
01:20:27
I like it hot.
01:20:29
I mean, to be honest, when you said unpopular decision, I would have said before I said it.
01:20:36
I'm like a big until I was thinking I was thinking Jayson Tatum, because I definitely he is the nominee.
01:20:44
But he is an unpopular decision.
01:20:46
Still.
01:20:47
Right there, remember? Probably you need a warning, so yeah.
01:20:55
Yeah, but great job you gave us. Warning.
01:20:58
So are you.
01:21:00
The year I'm gonna go with Nick North's head coach of the Toronto Raptors, I do not care.
01:21:05
They won the championship last year.
01:21:07
Who would have thought they would have been good this year with that for him again? What letter was the face of that team? You know, Carl, Larry has been stepping up.
01:21:14
Carry lottery is over.
01:21:16
You know 30 years old.
01:21:17
He's order Fred Van Fleet's been good being undrafted.
01:21:21
Um, hello again.
01:21:22
Pascoe Siaca, who was the most improved player last year? I mean, these players are stepping up.
01:21:27
And Nick Nurse? Yes, he was the You know they were the champions last year, right? But who would have thought that would be good this year? The second in the East, just ahead of your self exam? So, Brad, who would? Who was your coach of the year? I mean, I want to say, exposed right.
01:21:43
He is just He's a hell of a coach.
01:21:46
How exposed toe every year he is.
01:21:48
So he's one of the best coaches, you know.
01:21:50
Besides Gregg Popovich, he's so consistent.
01:21:53
But Nick Nurse is the best coach again, having no bias here, I think a little bit of an unpopular opinion not going to use what Billy Donovan, Um, I you lost Russell Westbrook and trade to the Thunder.
01:22:11
You know what's worse? The Clippers, You get Chris Paul very over age.
01:22:16
There was not a lot of hype going into the season for him.
01:22:19
Um, you just didn't have a lot to look forward to do with this team I mean, they had more first round picks, and they did this quality starters, so it was really impressive to see how he did.
01:22:30
I mean, the thunder are right there in the playoffs for five seed, maybe even six seeded something that happens in the playoffs.
01:22:39
But, I mean, it's pretty crazy.
01:22:41
How he took that teeming, motivated them and made them a great playoff team when nobody thought they would have been that.
01:22:47
That's a great point by you.
01:22:49
I don't see him.
01:22:50
I see anything.
01:22:51
The second best coach this year.
01:22:56
Why? I mean thunder have really improved.
01:22:58
I mean, not that that they improved but unexpected again.
01:23:02
Another unexpected team, right? The Miami is unexpected.
01:23:06
You want to think they would be the fourth seed in the East, But I guess you I knew they would make the playoffs.
01:23:10
I was like, they'll be like 1/7 or eighth seed or eight seed, and I weren't in the right.
01:23:15
Everyone knew that he would make the playoffs, but not is the fourth seat.
01:23:17
But with the thunder, we didn't think they would make the playoffs.
01:23:20
Even so, you make a great point again.
01:23:24
Yeah, so that more.
01:23:26
Do you think that your best coach of the year award would be for sure? Yeah, that's no, that's a great point by Brad.
01:23:31
Actually, I didn't even consider that.
01:23:33
But yeah, Billy Donovan has done incredible with the thunder.
01:23:35
I didn't see them making the playoffs, either.
01:23:37
But I e agree with you.
01:23:40
Isaac.
01:23:41
I'm going with Nick Nurse, and it doesn't matter that you want championship last year.
01:23:45
Fact of the matter is, they lost co eyeliner and everyone was like, Oh, just forget about the Raptors now and Nick Nurses done an incredible job with the team he has.
01:23:53
Pascal Siachen has been impressive leading that Toronto team, but when you look at the Milwaukee box Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 70 Sixers, even I'd say the Miami Heat and with the healthy, uh, Kevin Durant, Kyrie, Irving, Ah, the the Brooklyn Nets.
01:24:08
I think they all have more talent right now than the Raptors.
01:24:11
But Toronto are the two seed in the East.
01:24:13
Three Celtics.
01:24:15
Who would have saw that coming? I know I sure didn't.
01:24:17
So I think Nick has done an incredible job leading Toronto, and I know it's no disrespect.
01:24:23
Teoh coaches in the N B A.
01:24:25
But the NBA's a player driven league where you know a superstar is really what you needed to win a championship.
01:24:31
The coaches, you know, don't have as much of an influence compared to, you know, the N F l or R Stocker and even the NHL.
01:24:40
But ultimately, I think you got to give credit to Nick Nurse here because he's done incredible job with this to our team.
01:24:47
Considering how many other teams in the East I think have more talent than the Raptors, because woman Coli letter went out the door after winning the championship last year.
01:24:55
You know I'm guilty of it as well.
01:24:57
I was like, and we don't really have to keep an eye on Toronto anymore.
01:25:01
But there's in the East and have been very impressive.
01:25:04
So you got a good many people, you know, thought that the Raptors would even make the playoffs, To be honest.
01:25:14
Yeah, it's got the rap.
01:25:17
That's what everyone thought.
01:25:18
Yeah, just one last thing I saw.
01:25:21
I still saw the Raptors being a playoff team, but more like the six or seven c, definitely not the three and just yet, just because, like I ultimately go with Nick Nurse because before last year's championship run, nobody really knew who this guy was.
01:25:33
He coached in the G League for a long time.
01:25:35
He just not a well.
01:25:36
He wasn't a well known coach in the league, but he's done an incredible job with them, especially this year, even though they won the championship last year without Kawai.
01:25:44
Leonard, I'm I'm almost even Mawr impressed or definitely just as impressed with the job he's done at the home.
01:25:51
Yeah, absolutely.
01:25:52
Grant was your coach of the year.
01:25:56
All right, this one.
01:25:58
I want to convert the grief with because, you know, I think that I had where I get this time.
01:26:06
We're right off seeds.
01:26:08
And but I think overall he has done a solid job as coach.
01:26:11
I'm and give my coach of the year to Doc Rivers of the Clippers.
01:26:16
I think overall, you know I like I said, I know I got quiet learn and Paul George and creativity, of course, making that team way better.
01:26:23
I think overall, you know, even with adding in quiet poet nor got, I didn't really think the Clippers would have been the second best team in the West.
01:26:31
I thought they'd be up there, but, you know, I wouldn't think they'd only be y'all few games back in the Lakers.
01:26:36
So I use that for your job.
01:26:38
Or course you got Kawhi Leonard and Paul George and a couple other pre gets players on the Clippers team.
01:26:44
I think overall, he's done pretty solid and he is definitely, I would say, definitely bounce back Coach of the Year as well, if you ask me, You know, Not that many people will say Doc Rivers so abstractly and unpopular opinion.
01:26:57
But everyone knows the doctor versus if you're a big MBA families, so it's no, it's not exactly.
01:27:04
It's like, kind of like an unpopular decision because no one would pick him.
01:27:07
But it's not horrible because it does make sense.
01:27:09
But obviously there's better.
01:27:11
You know? I mean, for you, you could sell.
01:27:13
You want it for me? Yeah.
01:27:14
Better coaches that better jobs.
01:27:15
But Doc Rivers is a great coach.
01:27:17
So top five, maybe so.
01:27:19
Yeah, it is unpopular because no one would really say that.
01:27:22
But it's not crazy.
01:27:23
You know what I'm saying? So it I'll always love Doc Rivers.
01:27:27
You want a championship with Boston.
01:27:29
So true.
01:27:33
So let's get to our last last award.
01:27:37
A year ahead of me.
01:27:39
I would remiss in defensive.
01:27:40
Put up six minutes, and that's the last one.
01:27:43
I want to see Goran Dragic, would it? But it's not gonna happen.
01:27:47
You on Project for the Heat has been a tremendous sixth man, and again, he was a used to be a starter on the heat.
01:27:54
He go on jobs was good enough to be a star, right to take over Kendrick Nunn, right? But he's not.
01:28:01
Even when Jimmy but was injured, go on drugs on the bench.
01:28:05
Why you say that? Because Erik Spoelstra wants him to continue playing good anything since because he's on the bench.
01:28:12
So even if Jimmy by those injured, which happened a few times this year, go on draft, it was still a bench player.
01:28:18
So I want in the wind six minute here, but I'm gonna go with shrewder on the Oklahoma City thunder, and I think the top two nominees here and it's not just me, but I'm reading a few articles.
01:28:30
CEO. It's between Trudeau and Montrose.
01:28:32
Hell on Doc Rivers Clippers.
01:28:34
So those other two main aims.
01:28:36
Of course you can say other, but again, it's really between Trudeau and Harrell.
01:28:40
Those are in the two people that are gonna win it.
01:28:42
But again, you could say Dragic or some random person for six Man of the year.
01:28:46
So I'm gonna go with grand first, because let's see what he says.
01:28:52
Oh, goodness gracious.
01:28:53
I think I don't think you guys got a career with the settle, but I'll go with another really unpopular pick me.
01:29:00
Here I'll go. Taco Fall.
01:29:06
No football hockey topics.
01:29:12
All right, there.
01:29:14
Listen time.
01:29:15
Well, I mean, he's obviously e.
01:29:18
I think he's only been on the floor for for the Celtics for, like all but 20 minutes.
01:29:23
Ah, over the course of the season, he's been with the Red Clause in the Jew League for the most part, snow and favorite.
01:29:31
But hey, i e actual decision.
01:29:36
Is that your actual decision? Sure.
01:29:43
Let's go to Sam.
01:29:44
Yeah, I'm gonna go mantra as Harrell, actually, because when you when it comes down to it, this Clippers team is stacked, it's it's not.
01:29:53
It's not just Paul George and Cool Islander.
01:29:55
When it comes to talent and I think Lou Williams could also be in contention for six Man of the Year award that tell that shows you how much talent is on this Clippers team.
01:30:04
They have two players that I think you could put into consideration for the sixth Man of the Year award.
01:30:08
I know Lou Williams has wanted, I think, multiple times.
01:30:11
But I when it comes down to it, I go with Montrose.
01:30:13
Harrell.
01:30:14
Ah, he's made a huge impact off the bench for this Clippers team, and when you look at it for, for most other teams in the league, he'd be a starter, really? So I think he's a really good player, and I think he's been the best player off the bench for this L A Clippers team and he's made a real impact.
01:30:32
He's a really good shooter.
01:30:33
I, uh I definitely I definitely I definitely like him a za player.
01:30:38
Well, I remember I remember him college at Louisville and I liked him there, so I think I think he's had a solid career so far and a great man coming off the bench for this Clippers team.
01:30:50
So yeah, I'll go with mantra barrel.
01:30:52
Yeah, so this is I was just looking at, you know, CBS Sports, you know? Oh, there.
01:30:57
You know who they pick.
01:30:58
And so most people did say, Dennis Rudo.
01:31:01
But two people did say, Lou Williams.
01:31:04
Two people out of 20.
01:31:05
Said Lou Williams, who is also from Montrose, hero of the Clippers, left Just I find that real, but yeah, Lou Williams also Good.
01:31:13
But how about your meal? It's close between Trudeau on here.
01:31:16
It? Yeah, it is.
01:31:17
It shows you how much death though the Clippers have on their bench.
01:31:21
Oh, yeah.
01:31:24
And Brad, what was your, ah, six man of the year award? Okay, so I'll go thin on popular opinion.
01:31:30
Maybe a sleeper, dark horse candidate.
01:31:33
That's gonna be Derrick Rose with the Pistons.
01:31:36
I mean, I don't know if he's coming off the bench now or if he started.
01:31:40
You see the starter? Well, I mean, regardless, I mean, he's averaging 18.
01:31:44
1 points per game and five assists per game, you know? Yeah, me.
01:31:49
He's Look, Dad, girls used to be godly.
01:31:52
You know what I'm saying? Used to be the top flight.
01:31:55
He used to be the top flight players in the n b a his rookie.
01:31:59
Now he's organ.
01:32:02
You do? Uh, you know he's hanging in there.
01:32:04
That's what I should say, not just hang in there.
01:32:07
Hang in the lineup.
01:32:08
He actually does have an effect on the bad boasteam, but, you know, he does.
01:32:14
Is he on the Bulls eye is on the piston, right? Yeah.
01:32:18
Yeah, that's what you you mean, my watchers herro Probably going to win the award.
01:32:25
Uh, it's gonna be hammered.
01:32:26
Will Williams, though.
01:32:27
So we'll see.
01:32:30
Yeah, let's move on to something that I was supposed to really do for breath.
01:32:35
So about this bed.
01:32:36
But the three breakout QB's this season Let's make this quick cause it's on.
01:32:39
It's over already and out on 1/2.
01:32:41
But the three breakout keep bees this coming season, I'm gonna do it quick. No reasoning.
01:32:46
Number one Carla Mori.
01:32:47
I think we can all agree with that.
01:32:49
Number two Teddy Bridgewater.
01:32:51
I have to say that we had a long top and I'm not just saying this cause we We will talk about Bridgewater earlier because that was totally unexpected.
01:32:59
But again, number two, Bridgewater and number three I'm gonna go with Carson once I feel like he's gonna have a good year.
01:33:06
They got Jalen Rego, the draft pick number UH, Marqise Goodwin from the 40 Niners.
01:33:11
They already have, uh, Alshon Jeffery Get now Sign up.
01:33:14
Nelson ago was gone and, yeah, again after it happened to be my thought.
01:33:19
Breakout Q B is Courson wins in my third break out.
01:33:23
Running back is Mayer Sanders on calls and once offense.
01:33:27
So those are my three breakout QB's again, Murray Bridgewater and once Sam, who are your three breakout QB's this season? Yeah, I also have to agree with the one Kyler Murray.
01:33:38
I think he's poised to have a break out season, especially now that he has DeAndre Hopkins.
01:33:42
I think there's a lot to look forward to.
01:33:44
Ah, fur collar Murray with that Arizona offense and just for the Cardinals team in general.
01:33:49
They are in a tough division, as we mentioned earlier in the show, but I think there's a lot, a lot of upside to look forward to.
01:33:56
If you're a Cardinals fan and then for the other two, I'm gonna go withdrew lock of the Broncos.
01:34:01
I mean, I saw I saw some good spells of him last year, and I really am optimistic about him.
01:34:07
So key.
01:34:08
I want to keep an eye on Drew lock.
01:34:09
This might be the season where I don't think Denver will ultimately make the playoffs.
01:34:14
What he can get them, e.
01:34:16
I think he could get them to a Nate Nate record.
01:34:19
Maybe get it.
01:34:20
Get that seventh seeded, you know, in the NFC.
01:34:23
We'll see.
01:34:24
But I think I think Drew lock and someone to keep an eye out for and then the other one.
01:34:30
It's tough to Teoh to decide, cause I don't really have any obvious candidate for another breakout Q B ah, this year.
01:34:37
But I'm gonna go with Josh Allen in the way, assigning between once and Alan.
01:34:44
Yeah, yeah, it's a tough one.
01:34:46
I'm gonna go in the A F C East, though.
01:34:47
I mean, I haven't been awfully impressed by Josh Allen, but I see why there's potential in him.
01:34:53
And I just think now that you know, they got a Stefon Diggs and I think ultimately, just Tom Brady leaving New England.
01:35:00
This division is now pretty much wide open, and I think it will just ultimately give the Buffalo Bills as a team, a lot of confidence, and I think this might be the year that Gosh, Allen really picks up his game because I don't even know like which quarterback is the best in the A F C East.
01:35:15
Now, Now that Tom Brady's out, it's really a huge question mark. We just don't know.
01:35:20
So I think Josh Allen might might take that opportunity and have a break out season for Buffalo.
01:35:27
Bratton.
01:35:28
I have a one notes on this one, so let's hear your three breakout Keep these are okay, So obviously column.
01:35:35
Murray.
01:35:36
That's a no brainer. DeAndre Hopkins.
01:35:38
They also did.
01:35:39
They re signed D J Humphries on the right side of the offensive line, and they drafted Josh Jones.
01:35:44
So Murray will have some more time for the ball this year.
01:35:48
Drew Lakas Well, just because of all the weapons.
01:35:51
Jerry, Judy, KJ handler, Noven Warden, Noah Fan.
01:35:54
Corbyn's sudden and the list goes on and on with the Broncos, but they could make the playoffs at nine and seven.
01:36:01
They even go at 79 I mean, I could from both then Baker Mayfield with the Browns.
01:36:08
That's my last.
01:36:09
I mean, it's it's gonna be.
01:36:12
It's a tossup because a lot of us thought that he'd have a breakout year last year.
01:36:16
Disappointed.
01:36:18
But Kevin Stefanski I think he knows what he's doing with the Browns on, and I think he can really turn their offense around.
01:36:23
Especially Mayfield.
01:36:29
Make a make your again.
01:36:30
He has now the highest pain tight end in NFL.
01:36:34
Austin Hooper on the half ends.
01:36:36
Hey, if jobs leave and you know that Beckham actually have a good year this year again, that's a good me and Grant.
01:36:43
We're talking about wide receiver duos the other day, and it's funny, not No.
01:36:47
One, says Jarvis, Landry and Odell Beckham.
01:36:50
They were good friends in high school, so that duo even makes more sense.
01:36:53
But I just haven't Joan it.
01:36:54
But they could very well be if you know.
01:36:56
Yeah, he hasn't been here.
01:36:59
May fume Lisbon.
01:37:00
I'll have more praise for Baker Mayfield once he throws more touchdowns than the number of commercial season.
01:37:07
I'll just say that Yes, it's that stuff like that.
01:37:11
We're like, I like that.
01:37:15
Okay, it is true.
01:37:16
It is absolutely true.
01:37:20
So who do we grant right when it gets good? Hi, grandma or your top 33 breakout. Keep businesses.
01:37:27
All right.
01:37:28
My top three.
01:37:29
Yep.
01:37:30
Kyla Murray Number one Hawkins, recite D J. Humphries.
01:37:34
Roussanne came and drink is well, they on offense around them.
01:37:38
I think I do pretty good next year.
01:37:40
By the way, you have an entire list of Armel mentions.
01:37:43
I'm gonna go with number two, send Arnold Another Jets have gotten worse a little bit, but I think if he stays healthy, he can show flashes of him being out pretty solid overall.
01:37:59
So I like what he's done so far.
01:38:02
And for my third, I'm gonna go withdrew lock because, I mean, the rockets have just a well rounded offense around him.
01:38:11
And unlike Sam, I actually think Denver can actually make the playoffs.
01:38:15
Asiatic factual speaking as a wild card team.
01:38:18
So it should be very interesting, but yeah, I've got knows.
01:38:23
We're gonna be my top three.
01:38:24
I got Murphy, Donald and walk.
01:38:27
Okay. Thank you, everyone.
01:38:29
Thank you, Brad Smith.
01:38:30
You know, special guys brought Smith tell everyone watching would have followed your sportscast on.

01:38:58
Yeah. Hey, Any time, No.
01:39:02

01:39:04

01:39:07

01:39:08

01:39:23
Speaking of her instagram, we're gonna posted a honor Instagram Uh, I'm gonna post the highlight of Grant from the stream.
01:39:31
He says it's from him.
01:39:33
Got rats, and then Okay, just a quick, You know which one was worse, Carmelo or Taco Fall? Which Which one was worse? We'll talk.
01:39:42
Oh, fall.
01:39:43
I thought you were like joking because that Carmelo Anthony, I actually believe like that you know what I'm saying? I mean right? Do you know what I'm saying, Sam? Yeah.
01:39:53
I mean, you choose.
01:39:55
Really? It was definitely a memorable night for Grant, that's for sure.
01:39:59
Hey, and he could do that every time we'll hear NHL awards.
01:40:05
And, you know, I bet you know that some of you walk the wall in that.
01:40:09
So yeah, I continue Teoh, gradually learn about the n b A similar and only comes.
01:40:16
It's more, I think, any guy again.
01:40:22
I follow the whole N b a, the whole, the whole NFL.
01:40:25
Of course, Ola MLB.
01:40:26
I'm a big MLB exports of linear.
01:40:29
When MLB starts, that's when we'll be talking about.
01:40:31
I'm gonna force us to do that.
01:40:33
I'm joking, but I don't follow the whole any job at all.
01:40:38
I only follow the Panthers, but I know it's I don't know the official name, but I know there's a Golden Dio coach of the year, but go lands former Panthers head coach.
01:40:46
I was so mad when he won coach of the year, I think two years ago, whenever on the Vegas go two nights when you know the Vegas go.
01:40:54
Tonight's first year they had Blanas a lot.
01:40:57
So bad Go.
01:40:58
Them was terrible on the Panthers and he told the biggest goal tonight.
01:41:01
So tremendous team their first year.
01:41:03
So that's what yet? Stop Shopzilla! Great idea.
01:41:08
Just one last word.
01:41:10

01:38:30

01:38:58

01:39:02

01:39:04

01:41:10
I would I would want to see what silly things both of you would have to say if we ever talked about a soccer topic way.
01:41:19

01:41:27

01:41:36

01:42:07
I mean, so Yeah, that's just a little so I don't know more than that.
01:42:11
But hey, what are you gonna be a problem? Once the WWF found Teddy was coming back to the NFL, they belt away from him somehow.
01:42:21
Yeah.
01:42:22
Yeah.
01:42:23
Hey, I'm surprised you don't know, but that's fine.
