You could have seen the one fly.
It's a massive celebration.
It helps us cash release.
And it helps so many fish.
And it helps the trout have attack.
You know, it keeps it, keeps the areas that should be wild, wild, and it keeps him.
Keeps great car.
My dad has it on in his on the living room.
So I hear myself talk.
I can't do that.
Like I every time I hear myself park, it's really weird, but ladies and gentlemen, Hello.
How you doing? How you doing? Good.
Are you good? How are you? You remember meeting a few years ago? Kind of.
Yes, It's been a while.
But we saw you at the ranch with my daughters.
It's been a long time.
You you look like a grown just a little bit.
Mom and Dad there.
Um uh, yeah, my mom and dad are there, but we're going to jump into this interview.
Uh, okay, so let's see.
First question, Um what hat? What made you want to go into fly fishing? Uh, when I grew up, when I was growing up, I was a young boy about your age.
I like to just go fishing with, you know, worms and lures and things like that with a spinning rides.
I always like to fish.
And when I went to college, I went to college in Colorado.
I got out there.
I realized someone introduced in a fly.
Fishing was more popular to the West, to the East Coast.
Where and I just fell in love with it from the beginning.
So basically, someone took me black fishing, and it really, uh it spoke to me.
Um, at what age did you go into fly fishing? I was I was probably about splitting.
Um, have you ever competed? I have to fly fishing a couple of times.
There's an event called the Jackson Hole One fly? Yes.
I talked about that when I introduced you.
But you can You elaborate more on that? So the jobs a whole one fly it say it's a non profit organization, meaning they put on an event once a year in Jackson Hole to try to raise money for streaming proven projects.
So it's all donator.
It's all money that they try to raise to help trout the river and help build boat launches and access points and make sure that we have a wiki.
It's a two day fishing event that you basically have one fly this the whole day.
Did you lose it or it falls apart and you're out of competition today.
So that's why I call, Yeah, um, what's your favorite fish to catch? So that's a great question.
I I probably like catching Snake River cut through the most.
That's the specific kind of trout that you have in the Snake River by by your ranch in Wyoming, and it is only found in that river.
And the reason I like catching him so much is because they're very hard, either.
They can let you know they really goes to a cuff, cold, long winner.
And when they start beating in the spring and summer, they the very voraciously meaning they they eat as much as they can so you can get us much underneath the store.
The next winner, on what's really unique about the snake of recut, wrote.
The e tries lives more a lot of other things, so they come up to the surface to the grab slash German sets off the top of the water when your fly fishing.
For that, you get to see the action.
It's pretty fun.
Yeah, I did a report on trout when I was in third grade, and I you know, I obviously made it about pretty much 50% in the report was about, you know, snake for her Cutthroat.
But what is the biggest fish you ever call? So biggest fish I ever hide was actually while I was sal****er.
Fishing isn't just for catching trout.
You can actually fish with a fly ride applies in salt water.
An ocular place to do that.
It's in Central America where the water's really warm like the Caribbean Ocean.
So I was lucky enough to go to police the Houston sal****er fly fishing, and I caught my constant baby tarpon baby sergeant that I caught.
Some of them are close to £40 which is enormous aspires Target Go.
There's still considered babies at that if that weight level target can grow to be over £200.
Uh, but as far as my own experiences catching baby target on the flies 30 of £40 that's probably the biggest ambition actually required fire on.
Okay, um uh, what's your favorite spot to fish? So one of my favorite rivers and fishes in Montana, and it's called the Missouri River.
And it's a really well known trout stream that is between Helena and Great Falls and in the national Missouri River Headwaters in mock flows all the way of Mississippi.
But in terms of my favorite area, efficient for trout, there's a well known area.
It's got about 30 or 40 miles of world class trout fishing.
Um, did you ever help my great grandmother? We've we called her Banky, I have to tell my years because, you know, they probably were gonna ask me why I said that.
But, you know, we called her Pinky.
Did you ever help her out with one fly? You know, I never helped make in the one fly, but I do.
I guided being seen many times, which was, uh, wish was the thrill I love spending time with your on the water was it was always a great date of you with your, uh, on the water.
And I'll tell you, the reason is that She always had a really, really positive attitude.
So I heard it was necessarily about catching fish or landing fish.
Although when she did catch a fish, Aranda fish was always a joy council.
But the bigger messages that she just enjoy seeing out there every single day.
So you know what? Fishing was great.
It was It was awesome.
Fishing was tough, it was still awesome.
And she, you know, she would get my vote in the morning and we would start flowing down wherever it's past.
All days got out and that's that's one key to being a successful angler with the fly ride.
Is that the more time your flies in the water and we're passing? You're doing better stance. You're going.
She really held true to that.
You take a rate would really you don't get bored or tired.
She stopped with it.
Stand up each day.
I always buy that better.
Okay, I I really I hope that I can you know, you can eventually guide my sister and I or even teach us flock how to fly because you know, of course, I've only gone fishing ones.
But I have an idea what fly fishing is, but I don't know how toe have it cast, you know, throw back in cast.
Yeah, well, maybe what we should try to plan to do one of these years, uh, assumes to get done with this pandemic is maybe we need in Wyoming, and I'll have my girl's family with me.
Just take a couple of days of apologies fishing, and, um, it could be a lot of fun, so I look forward to that.
Yeah, I look forward to that to eso.
I'm probably keeping you from your afternoon bike ride, but have a great bike ride.
Have a great day.
