Hey guys, Calvin here, here to talk to you about the five biggest news stories of today.
So I put together from 55 news stories in all sports that I'm gonna talk to you about, and I'll give my reactions and ****ysis.
And so the 1st 1 and definitely the biggest news off today, I would say so far is the NHL has announced their potential playoff format for a potential season return amid this current virus pandemic.
They have announced that if their season returns, possibly in early July, they will be transitioning to a 2014 playoff with a round robin format in the first round.
This is definitely unprecedented.
And while I'm not the biggest hockey fan, this is still something that is very unprecedented, hasn't been seen before, and I It's interesting as long as they keep the right regulations.
As we know, hockey is one of the most physical sports, so the any show has to make has to make sure that teams follow the correct regulations or else it's gonna be too unsafe.
In my opinion, toe restart another in big news story, one that I was really surprised about, according according to a source.
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys have not negotiated on a contract in months, which shocked me because I thought, and it seems, that reports from the organization we're showing that things were fairly positive between the sides.
I don't think press guys playing toe hold out, obviously, but I just think it's surprising to me that he hasn't been negotiating.
I mean, obviously hasn't been signed, but that he hasn't had a contract negotiations.
All was very shocking to me.
Another big piece of news.
Damian Lillard said he would not play in the N B a season if it returned, and the Blazers were not given a fair shot at the playoffs, meaning he said that if they returned and played a few exhibition games before the playoffs, or just a few games where the Blazers didn't have a shot to get into playoff contention, he would be with his team.
But he said he would be sitting on the bench.
This is really interested in and I feel like he shouldn't be sitting out games necessarily, although I can see his point of view that it's not completely fair that the team didn't get a full shot, but it's still not also not bear to sit out games in response and sitting out games just escalates the problem.
It's not really the best thing to do, and yes is he doesn't have a fair shot now.
But his team didn't play well enough early in the season and that's on him as well.
Another piece of news we've got.
The MLB owners are sending yet another plan to the MLB P A.
That includes July 4th start, obviously, and a sliding skate pay scale for players meaning that the higher up player is paid.
The more the less money is the that, the less of their salary is guaranteed and the lesser players paid the more of their salaries guaranteed.
This is an interesting move.
I feel like, although it's not one that, in my opinion, the MLB P A will be readily accepting just because obviously the MLB p A, the Players Association has to stand up for their players, they have to stand up for them getting their fair salary and even if it's a good move for it to get started.
The higher pay players might not be happy about this.
Although I think they should go along with it in the in, in the interest of getting sports started again.
The last piece of news is that Jalen Ramsey is that will attend training camp, even if he does not get a contract extension.
I guess there weren't very big talks about a holdout, but it's still good for the Rams to get satisfaction.
See, they're not in huge trouble right now, also the Rams.
But Ramsey said that his agent and the Rams are on the same page there.
So, um, I think that that's good for both sides.
Eso they seem to be mostly satisfied.
I'm so that's it for the news of the day.
Chris, I have to do my predictions.
I haven't I haven't really been following hockey, so I got to get back into it and see so I don't have a prediction for you right now, but I might have one sometime soon.
Thanks for watching the news of the day again.
This was the news for May 26 2020 which is today.
I'm Calvin once again signing off
