Walker Buehler will be on the bump for Game two of the Siri's.
What do you have for us on him, Danny? This guy's a pretty good picture, and I was looking through the stats, and one thing jumped out of a sub 1.
20 with coming into this start.
That tells me a couple of things. One.
He's not afraid to throw strikes and to when he does throw strikes, he throws quality and he still gets people out.
It'll be fun to watch this guy working this one today and in steps Scott Kingery and there's a look at his home and road splits so far this year.
Now the one in one pic who right now and the skies are clear.
But that's not helping the temperature much.
45 degrees here at first pitch and it was motion.
Here comes the three in one slow roller left side throws in time Number one.
There's Andrew McCutchen, now carrying a batting average of just over 300 so clearly he's been a productive player with the bat in his hands so far.
One and two now had to be sitting something hard right there because He gave up on that pitch, but it was right down the chute line to the right side.
But that's a foul ball.
One out, nobody on now.
A swing and a fly ball.
Right fielder giving chase.
But this a land on just here it comes again, 12 I don't blame the picture one bit for trying to get to chase right there.
He's been fouling everything off.
He still got the entire ****nal open to him, so we'll see what pitch he comes with next.
And there's ball three on a breaking ball that Mrs Away.
These are the kind of babies, regardless of the outcome, you go back to the dugout as the offensive player and your teammates are loving on you for making that picture work and battling it out.
Pulls this one in the air out to left.
Bets has a read on it.
There are two down now.
Next to dig in will be blessed.
Harper just hold on for something to go his way in this one.
As you can see, it's not been the case of late two out.
Nobody on swung on and missed, and that's the final out of the inning.
Phillies down in order and now the Dodgers get a crack at it.
Vince Velasquez, California born right hander is on the mound.
What's your take on a band? One of the things that jumps out.
If you look at that stat sheet, a very high whip coming into the start, one of the things he's gonna have to do a much better job.
Keep traffic off the bases, keep the walks down.
Try to limit the amount of hits.
He's had a rough go that so far this year.
Let's see if he can turn it around in this one.
So that'll bring in Mookie Betts.
It lead things off here in the bottom half of the first here.
Now the to to hard on the ground towards second and a base hit.
So the leadoff man is on to begin the inning.
I want to be the team on the attack without question in the bottom of the first.
Start it off with lead.
Our single gets everyone in your now Justin Turner turned a slider here.
Just misses to one.
Now, these Phillies is they interplay here tonight, fellas.
coming, playing well, six and three over the last nine ball games, including a victory last time out.
They started this road trip off right yesterday.
There was one common theme.
There was great starting pitching.
Guy went out absolutely executed.
Hopefully, he can pick it up cleanly after that.
Get right there.
Zero That expenses hitting streak to six.
No doubt about it.
Six days in a row with not help you sleep better at night.
So now to the plate Met Beatty, now about a 58 foot breaking pitch that he wisely lays off here.
Now here's the 21 looks at a fastball inside, so he's in the driver's seat.
Three and one time for a look at our umpires in this one.
Working the plate is Carl Dixon.
A zero one of the things you have to be aware of as a hitter from Carl Dixon.
Call the high strike.
So you better be on top of your game with two strikes, because if they elevate good chance called it since punching your ticket and he turns on this one and yanks it fouling back out of play.
Fly ball right down the line.
In left, tension moves over near the line as he puts it away for the first out of the Ballenger at the plate, now looking for better results than last night when he went over four in that one events over its second.
Turner is over at first with one away slider clocked in the mid eighties.
There it's a ball and two strikes.
Well, he's in a bit of hot water in this first inning, but if he can start throwing his slider effectively like that, he has a lot better chance of settling into this game.
And they come inside with a fastball.
But it misses here, and it's back to, too, and two open a send him packing pitch on its way.
JOC Pederson waits on deck Now the 32 pitch is a swing into this.
That's strike three.
I really like that.
He gave up nibbling out of the zone, trying to get a chase that wasn't working, so I just read back and fired a good old country hardball fastball under right time.
No better feeling in the world when you're a pitcher throwing a fastball right by stepping in now.
Jaak Peterson, maybe trying to back him up a bit there with the fastball, his lifetime line against Velasquez.
He's gone three for 11.
He also has one home run.
Here's the 21 even count.
Two balls and two strikes, two down runners at first and second and another foul ball, the 22 pitch lifted in the air out to center field.
Williams will get there, and he puts it away to retire the side Dodgers strand a couple, and this is still a nothing. Nothing bogging.
So now to the plate d d Gregorius.
He's heading in the two seventies on the season coming into this one, even in a ball and a strike.
Here's the *****.
Look like a fastball got away from in there and I can't catch the corner here.
So he's behind three and one J.
T real Muto waits on deck 31 and that misses for Ball four.
So it's a leadoff walk here to start the second.
Now batting J T.
First chance for him here with a man on following the leadoff walk No.
11 And there it goes towards second, and the throw to first is in time.
One done no So runner aboard its second here with one away and digging into a plate that Texas native Nick Williams 11 home on the ground of the right side.
And that's the second out coming to the plate now.
David Rio find a cash in here in his first at bat with a runner at third and two gone ready with the 11 ground ball sent back up the middle.
Reined in, throwing the but a good scoop.
It first saves an error as the side is retired.
One left for Philadelphia.
We'll go to the bottom of the second.
No score stepping into the box.
Corey Seager will lead it off against Vince Velasquez.
No offer on that 12 balls and a strike 21 now is swinging.
The ball popped in the air.
Back behind short.
Stay with it is he backs up and puts it away. One gone.
So striding forward now.
Gavin Lux, bottom of the second here with no score.
Now Velasquez offers up perhaps one of the nastiest sliders around, and it won't be uncommon to see a lot of off balance swings against it, and it will be easy to see why.
Once you see it come out of his hand, he's got a huge break on it.
That's in there, above the belt.
So it's even now two and two line drive.
The left that gets down and he's got himself a base hit after that base. Not right.
They're easy to double digits. Zero.
That's a 10 game hitting streak.
Are you talking about double digits? Then? Now it's getting firm.
We're seeing the batting average go up.
We're seeing the homers go up.
We're seeing the RV eyes go up.
Everything is moving north at the plate.
Will Smith, a fastball called strike one and two working for the punch out and the offering runner at first year.
One man out in the dirt here.
But it won't skip away far enough for the runner to advance here.
Now the to to gets the outside corner.
That's what you call clipping the outside corner great movement on that slider, and it completely locked up.
The hitter didn't pull the umpire, though.
You standing in now, Walker Buehler down the first base line and it's fouled away to out with demanded.
Hard to the right.
Slow little roller to third.
Second for the force.
Out on the side is retired.
One left for L. A.
Look to the third with no score that will bring up Josh Harrison was back in the starting lineup for this one after sitting out last night's game.
This is high in the air, out toward left center.
On the move is Peterson.
He gets to it and makes the catch for the first out.
One gone here in the Philadelphia third and that will bring up the pitcher Vince Velasquez.
Third inning. No score to this point.
And he found this one off.
12 Got to take advantage of that pitch right there.
Oh, to breaker, hanging over the heart of the plate.
Not going to see too many of those today.
Got him swinging.
Chased it well out of the zone.
And there are two gone.
Really good late.
Bite on that slider right there.
Now the best ones have that late action that just starts at the last minute there.
So tough to get the bad on.
And when you've got that good slider going.
It's a great strikeout pitch into the box now.
Scott Kingery back up the middle and in for a base hit, and that gives Andrew McCutchen an opportunity this inning with two outs.
Now that now Andrew McCutchen.
This is on the ground over way to get dirty and give it up on a phenomenal play to retire the side.
Thumbs up here in the boot following this gorgeous play at second base.
Don't go anywhere more.
Tuesday night Baseball after this bottom of the third now striding into the box.
Mookie Betts, second at bat here, he reached via a single lead off the home first.
Not an easy thing to do when you're in the leadoff spot, but that was a good piece of hitting in his first at bat and opposite field base hit.
Which leads me to believe that this guy's gonna cover both sides of the plate.
Now that fastball right by get no chance to get the barrel of that one and sliders in the dirt is he lays off it for a ball.
That pitch was way down on two on two, but give the hitter.
Some credit there, sometimes with two strikes or more off that expand the strike zone.
But he didn't and held off on that one.
That wasn't even close.
And don't forget he lost his last time out, so he wants to get off on the right foot here.
The last thing he wanted us to walk the leadoff man.
Now with the play Justin Turner, 12 mrs for the second bowl.
And here's a ball in the air now, carrying a bit out toward right center, Harper will settle under it to make the play for the first out is the runner will have to head back first.
Riding in, baby for one here in the early going, runners on first with one down.
Now with Grover, here comes the pay off pitch misses with that one for ball four.
So that'll put runners on first and second with one away, and that's two free passes from the third inning alone.
So you have to wonder if maybe it's something mechanical or if it's just psychological, I gotta get back on track here.
So here's Cody Bellenger, just a bit high with fastball, but didn't get the call has to be a challenge coming up here.
He probably doesn't want to flirt with loading the bases.
21 home swung on and missed in that strike, two to to.
That was kind of a gift to the hitter.
He's up there probably thinking of protecting on to two, but when you launch a ball that high out of the strike zone, it's obviously easy to take that.
And a fastball swung on and missed A Z just reared back there to away.
Well, this pitching staff has done a pretty good job right there.
That's a four train struck out.
We're only in the second game of the series at the plate now.
John Peterson, 21 and two now bottom of ending number three.
Our store and a breaking ball in the dirt that time for a bowl has already walked to in this inning already.
I just can't seem to find Strike zone stays alive.
Still two to Lucky.
He got a piece right there.
He was definitely laid on that pitch after seeing a previous off speed pitch.
The 22 hold high in the air out to right field on the move is Harper.
He's there to track it down, and that'll end the inning.
A couple of walks, but no damage.
Three endings in the books.
Still no score on the show now to the plate.
Bryce Harper over one form here in this one, one and one.
Here it comes, weights on it, one out.
So one away here with bases empty and that will bring up D d Gregorius pitching as the upper hand early is were scoreless in inning number four.
Found off 12 And there's ball three on a breaking ball that Mrs away into the wind up ready with the pay off pitch.
Hold high in the year, out to right field.
Bell injures under it.
Two down, two gone in Philly fourth, and that brings up J T Realmuto.
Just one hit and no errors on the ledger for the Phillies, to this point.
Did a good job to shorten up and protect the plate, and he'll have another shot at it here.
Another one to delivery swung on, and he went fishing in the dirt.
Smith on that ends the inning.
Three up, three down for Philadelphia onto the bottom of the fourth.
Now, still, with no score.
Here's Corey Seager, 11 home yanked high and deep down the line in right, and it's a foul ball high in the year.
Down the right field line on the move is Harper, and he makes the catch in the corner that so stepping in heaven. Lux.
He reached on a single in his first try.
No runs, three hits, no errors for the Dodgers thus far.
Right side hit hard, and that is gonna sneak on through into right.
It's a one out single.
You don't see that too much in today's game.
Most guys, it doesn't matter what the government is.
They're looking lithe case here.
Good to strike adjustment, able ground ball.
Dive back and now Will Smith.
Here's a fly ball well hit chasing after it is Williams.
He gets there, makes the play for the second out of the inning.
Heidi Watney Standing by as we get set for the top of the fifth.
Matt I talked with Philadelphia's manager during the break about the Phillies offensive production to this point on.
One thing he mentioned me was the lack of discipline he's seeing out of their at bats right now, he said.
Their pitch selection has been the main reason for their struggles today.
As far too often, they've been swinging at pitches outside the strike zone.
That's leading to a lot of soft contacted easy outs.
So the focus going forward is on shrinking the zone and forcing the opposing pitching to throw more strikes.
Okay, thank you, honey.
One finds the target on the outer half, its one and two.
They really punch him up on that.
Quincy swings and misses for the first out just tied him up with that last pitch pretty evident by the swing.
Sometimes guys getting that protect mode so much that they're swinging at everything that they see in the end of offering at pitches that they can't possibly do anything with into the box.
They haven't looking awfully confused up there.
Right now. It's one and two.
I know we want to focus on the offense and how bad they've been so far.
But can we give some love to the picture? He has had these guys in the rocking chair all day, lying the second where it's caught there for out. Number two.
Bases are empty here with two gone, and the ever versatile Josh Harrison digs in the 12 Here's a blooper out toward left center, and that'll get down for a base hit.
Throw in the second tag and they'll get him a second.
And with that, the side is retired.
So no runs on one base hits no errors, and no one left on last half of the fifth coming up, and we still have no score.
Welcome back to Dodger Stadium.
Let's send it down to the field in Heidi Watney, Matt.
During the break, I caught up with Dave Roberts, the Dodgers skipper, about his lineups performance so far and flat out.
He was very pleased with the quality of their at bats, despite the fact that they've yet to push a run across.
The game is still tied, and the pitch count for their opposition is really getting up there.
They think that making him work as hard as he has is going to pay off later in the game and that they just need to stick to the process.
All right, how do thank you.
Christopher Sanchez, six foot five inch left hander takes over on the mound now at the plate.
Mookie Betts line but speared on a hot proto first is in time for the first.
So the base is your empty with one man gun, and digging in the place will be Justin Turner.
Set to deal on a ball into strength well down the left field line.
But back into the crowd.
Now another one, too.
This is a fun guy. Watch.
Really Battles doesn't take any pitches off.
Always seems to make it difficult on the opposing pitcher here.
Now the to to slung on and lifted in the air to left center.
McCutchen is after it.
He gets there, and that's the second out.
Now play Met, Baby.
It was a walk in his last trip.
Faces your empty here with two men fouled away, another two to offering.
You could definitely tell with that foul off right there that he's picking up spin on this pictures off speed stuff.
Maybe expect a fastball on this next month, and it's fouled away and he found this one off.
Here comes the 22 pitch this is pulled into right and that ball gets down out here the wall and should be extra bases.
Well, lefty on Lefty.
This is a tough matchup, but he stays in there, keeps that front shoulder closed, just ripped a bench or a two bagger job.
Find the odds there.
So now with play Cody Ballenger and he lays off pitch outside as they grow even at two and two runner in scoring position at second with two down.
Full count of Ballenger.
Three balls, two strikes for the guy on the mound.
This is one of those innings where nothing comes easy.
He's throwing a bunch of pitches, and this A B hasn't been any different, definitely laboring at the moment.
Rounded up the first base line, and nothing will come with two out double as the inning is over.
Following the two out double back with more here on a Tuesday night after this cigarette.
Grab a bat and lead things off here in the top of the sixth, and the sliders in the dirt is He lays off it for a ball swing and he pops him up.
That's coming on, but he's not going to be able to make a play on it is it finds the outfield grass for a base hit.
A pinch hitter does his job to set the table.
Now the top of the order goes to work.
Standing in now Scott Kingery it looks a full strike.
Three as the cut fastball in there, that's number one next hitter to dig in will be Andrew McCutchen was retired via ground ball last time up.
Yeah, we expect this picture to try and get the same result.
That's his last at bat right hair.
Double play is in order, anything on the ground the way this defense is, they could certainly role to To To looked at an account moves for.
We could see the runner in motion here on a 32 count.
There's a pretty good chance he's going to get a pitch to swing it.
And if not, it's all for anyways, on a great knuckle curve just buckled in their and their two guns.
That's back to back strikeouts now is they've been unable to advance that leadoff single into scoring position.
Clearly no problems working out Stretch right now, Matt, he's taking control this inning after giving up that hit.
Now we'll see if he can finish it off strong as well.
Bryce Harper and he pulled up in time, but it's a cold strike.
Two 3 to 2 out. Run run first.
Lots of possible outcomes on this pitch inside Mrs Ball. Four.
I think this walk is gonna grind it him for a bit.
And now the inning continues with the man in scoring position.
Big spot here first and 2nd 2 men gun on.
Here's the left handed hitting shortstop Didi Gregorius, now ready with 11 too much for their one and two with fillies Have been looking person offense all game long.
They've yet to find it.
Let's hope they find it pretty soon.
Two balls and two strikes now fouled off aumentaron with two men out, fouled away and to to be struck him out.
Seventh of the ballgame, and that ends the inning.
Billy's leave a couple way are still scoreless.
It was a Alvarez runners to do the pitching in the bottom of the sixth number 50 so next to battle the left handed hitting John Peterson.
He's over to the ball game so far.
Payoff pitch home.
Re own is there for it.
Makes the play one away.
It's been a whole for two effort for him to this point.
Faces are empty.
One man pulled toward right center field.
Williams is under it.
That's the second out of the inning reporting.
Stepping in Gavin Lux Last time through was a base it 11 pitch and it's fouled away.
Alvarez, 30 years of age, is in the midst of his eighth major league season.
12 swung on and missed strike.
Three 123 Go to Dodgers.
Digging in J T real Muto.
He started at the evening over two.
So far Not sure if this is a powerhouse pitching performance by both teams or bad hitting.
But as we're moving late into this one, it's about time somebody put something together to try to score runs, two balls and two strikes to the Phillies catcher.
So good either, is he works the count back full.
One of the things you want to do with a starter.
Get that pitch count up here's another productive at that is this count now gets to three balls and two strikes.
Crowd gets up for the 32 and he struck him out.
And that's eight strikeouts Thus far.
He didn't like to call there on the outside Part of the plate was probably too good to take.
And he's down on strikes for the second time.
Yeah, that pitch was right on the black, beautiful pitch, and even if we had robot ups still be out.
But the only difference would be he wouldn't be able to complain about at the plate.
Now Nick Williams swinging a little blooper center, and that's in their base.
It into the box now, David.
Way outside, nearly with backstop to one.
I'm seeing all the signs of fatigue right now.
This is when you really have to bear down mentally as a pitcher.
Now the 21 this is lying left pretty much right at the left fielder is he takes it in for the second out.
No, so too, were gone now in the Philadelphia seventh, and that will bring up Josh Harrison to out with possible go ahead, running for well above the letters with the fastball that time, and he's got himself another one.
He picks up strikeout number nine.
Here in the side is retired Billy Strand one, and this is still nothing. Nothing.
It's the call from the pen to take over on the mound and start the Helen 74 last half of the seventh year, digging in now Will Smith.
It was a fly out for him in his last trip, starting to run out of time.
They haven't been able to score any runs as we're moving late into this one, a perfect time for this lead up guy to try to get on base and ignite around two and two to the Dodgers catcher.
They'd like to see a little bit more discipline in that.
You get a count your favorite swing at a pitch that bad.
Seven years to to hit out toward second and thats out Number one.
Move into the on deck circle now to try to get something started here with one gun in the inning, it on the ground to short Loved by.
Harrison gets him working on a one game so far, two out.
Nobody on locked him up.
Gregorius shading to is right.
He makes the play and that'll end the inning.
Dodgers down in order Way, are still scoreless.
Dylan Floro has been summoned from the bullpen.
Is you'll do so to start the eighth number.
Adam Heasley was gonna be asked to get things going.
Here is the lead off the top of the line.
Drive to center field into a slide, and he makes a great catch for the first.
That's a slick play out there as we take a look at it on show emotion.
He was charging in quickly, and he slides to get under the ball just before it reaches the ground and gets the out well done.
So the Phillies banning order turns over and sent to go.
He was sent packing on strikes in his last trip.
Yeah, Maddie and hopefully got it out of his system.
Especially now he's got a bear down.
He gets two strikes in this spot.
What it has to put the ball in play.
Now Dodgers get a right hander up and throwing in the bullpen, set to deal on a ball into strikes.
When you're playing close games like this base.
Runners mean everything so he can ill afford to start giving away free passes.
Hit out toward second on That will find its way into center field for one out.
And this guy's on fire.
Used to say all the time, about 150 ABC 200 babies.
But when you start figuring out what type of season you're gonna, he's obviously in May, and he's on 50 He's been locked in from Day one of the season.
It's continuing right now.
Anything that is around the strike zone.
He feels he could get the barrel to it, and he continues to hit line drives on.
McCutchen has himself a base hit, and with that, the go ahead runs up the second.
Now with only one away.
That's one of the guest advantage hitting with that hole between first and second base zero.
First baseman has toe hold that runner on.
That leaves that right side wide over credit to battle right there.
Nice piece of hitting, right.
They're not trying to do too much.
He took a look at the defense, and so where was aligned tried to be.
One is taken for bill, too bullpen needs to step up in this situation.
I gotta believe the manager was hoping for way more than this.
He sent on to one.
Now my, this ball is crushed.
Go out of here into the visitors bullpen.
Three run home run down the line in right as they jumped ahead by three.
Boy, When this guy gets in a groove, he can hit him.
And when he hits me, handsome in Bunches hit a home run in last night's game, and if they continue to pitch him on the outer part, the plate look out.
This guy's going to do some major damage.
So they go to the bullpen now, and it will be the left hander here to face the upcoming left handed batter into the box D D Gregorius smoked on the ground up the middle, and that's through for a hit.
I can't imagine that's a pitch he was looking for right there, but he did our best to keep his nose in it and drive that changeup for a base hit.
So now the plate J t real Muto on this ball runs away for ball 22 and one, Alexander is adjusting to the new normal.
His MLB now mandates that relievers reached the end of an inning or face three or more batters before being replaced For one time.
Lefty specialist like this, that's a big change, and this one's low here.
So the count swells to three and one.
No reason to sit on anything are the hard stuff in a location you like and drive it right now.
Hard hit ball the second.
And there's his first base it in this one and that runner will go no further than second is there are two aboard now.
I think the whole ballpark knew he was gonna go with the sinker right there to induce the double play.
The only problem is, he can't guarantee it's gonna be hit right at one of his in Fields.
Now, Williams sinker misses that time, and it's two on one from the belt. *****.
Well, he's behind in the count now.
He's probably gonna have to turn to something hard and straight right here.
On 31 This is pulled into right.
He lays out for it, but he can't pull it in now.
This is thrown wildly just getting it into the infield.
They're not going to get him Aziz in there to score on those air plays that cost you ballgames.
You're already losing that.
You make in here like that to compound things.
That's how things snowball on you, and you start to feel like you can't do anything right.
Now Davey re own a bouncer up the middle field it cleanly will be the first for the second out.
But meanwhile, another run is in to score.
Josh Harrison stands in, struck out swinging in his last trip to the plate.
Sometimes you just got a tip, your cap to the guy on the mound.
He's getting paid to try and get you out as well.
Any time it gets up there north of 78 pitch babies, sometimes it just comes down to pure execution.
Let's see if he makes the adjustment right here.
Soup itch two out here in a runner at second is put in play to the right side of the infield.
In time they stopped.
The bleeding is decided retired, but not before five crossed the plate with big blow being this three run home run bottom of the eighth.
It's the Phillies five and the Dodgers nothing.
Adam Morgan genius on the pitch out of the bullpen in the bottom half of the aid number.
40 at the plate.
He's got a hit in three at bats.
To this point, it doesn't look very promising so far in this one.
As we move into the later innings down by a Bodo, it's time to get some base runners and hopefully, a long ball to get them back into this one.
Looked like he tried to pull it there, but he swings right through the fastball, and here's a ball hit in the air.
Harper coming on.
But this a land untouched once again.
5 swing that time.
But it's a full swing in the eyes of the umpire, and that will be the first out of the inning.
A lot of indecision there on that check swing, and that's something you see a lot of live on three and two.
When the difference between striking out and drawing the walk and could be an inch or two, it's pretty understandable.
White guys aren't always aggressive with their swings.
1/2 nobody on maybe too much brake on the slider to on one.
Hasn't seen a heater yet.
One might be coming right here.
Hold high in the year after right field.
Harper giving Chase.
He gets there, and that's the second out.
Two away for the Dodgers here in the eighth.
And that brings in the former National League rookie of the year, Cody Bellenger, to to It doesn't get the zone count full now.
John Peterson would be next if they keep this Jenning alive.
Faces your empty here with two men out, and he found this one off.
Fouled off the next three to got him.
And that's the third time we've written a K next to his name in this one.
123 Go to Dodger.
I need to get it going Soon.
Pedro Bryant enters from depend to start the ninth inning is trying to keep the school right where it is heading to the bottom of the ninth.
Roman Quinn will try to get his blood a little ninth inning insurance, so grab back to pinch hit, leaving things off here.
Fouled away ready with the one and two shot to third.
But this will be spirited third, and that was self defense.
All the Whale one gun.
So the lineup flips over and digging in Scott Kingery on the night East, two for four with a pair of singles one and two.
Now is that one's fouled off bias.
A native of the Dominican Republic, he's a veteran of seven years at the major league level.
12 There's a swing and I drive into left center field.
Back those bets at the track.
He can't get there in time, and now it hops over the wall for a ground rule double.
There's a deep fly.
Ball doesn't quite get out of the ballpark, but it hits in the right spot as it bounces off that hard warning track and over the wall for a ground rule double.
Not sure if he had triple on his mind, but I doubt he'll complain too much about getting the coast in the second base at the plate.
Now Andrew McCutchen one ball and two strikes the count action in the bullpen now, as the right hander begins to throw out there 12 and it's fouled away and he chased it in the dirt.
Smith goes to get it, and he makes the throw to first.
McCutchen is retired, two down now.
Good pitch there.
That was a nice job, guys.
Battery mate to complete the plate first after the ball hits the dirt, Here's Bryce Harper now.
He went deep to the tune of a three run job his last time up, and he found this one off 12 runner in scoring position, its second with two down fastball.
Didn't miss by much in It's a full count now. Three.
And to Didi Gregorius would be next if they can keep this ending alive.
32 pitch fouled off the next three to back up the middle that'll get buy into center field for a base hit on one more.
This is now with six.
Those are the ones you remember right there.
That's his fourth R B I of the night.
That doesn't happen often throughout the course indices, and, you know, as a pitcher, you see what this guy's been doing.
You know he's having a good night.
He's a tough guy.
He's a tough guy to pitch around some nights, you just have to tip your cap.
Pretty good night.
Four ribbies in this one here at the plate.
Devi Gregorius in front of the change up, and you can't keep it fair.
Two strikes on it Now.
What checked his swing there? And did he go? No, he did not, says the third base umpire to not where we wanted that fastball to be.
And it's three and two now.
Good spot for an R B.
I put the ball in play with the runner in motion.
He could score all the way from first runner on first with two away.
He pulls this one into right in their base hit, and they won't even attempt to run on that arm in Right.
So despite the runner moving on the pitch and lined up first and second here, no mistake when he was sitting on a fastball middle of the plate, kept his hands back, stayed through the baseball and delivers a hard hit line, drives standing in now J T real Muto, braying to full count.
What are the most frustrating things for me to watch in this game? Is guys getting count leverage and not pull the trigger on a fastball middle in.
That's why you play to get no situations where you can try and do damage.
What do you want? The nasty slider, he said.
Here's the three to fouled away the next three to this one's down to third.
Turner has it on the first.
That'll do it as they managed to not let this in and get out of hand, Billy's will have to be content with just 156 and seven a lead things off in the bottom of the ninth.
It's the Philly six and the Dodgers. Nothing.
Robert Stock, six foot one inch right hander will be the one to get the call from the booth here. John Peterson.
He's gonna lead things off in their half of the ninth as they try to avoid the dreaded shut out.
It's never a good feeling to get shut out, and over the course of the season it's bound to happen a few times.
They've just been overmatched by good pitching now the 21 pitch swinging of all line down in the left field corner.
But this is foul near the seats.
Fastball just missed above zone.
Corey Seager will be next.
Too close for comfort.
And he did a good job just to make contact.
Lined hard toward right center.
Harper is there, and that's not the start.
To the bottom of the ninth, this crowd was open for one away.
Good contact to start out the inning.
Thought he might be on base with some sort of ahead, but it hung up there too long.
Just unlucky that time now with Blake.
It was a fly out for him in his last trip, the 11 home Mrs Ball to right now, some action in the Phillies bullpen as a right hander begins to crank it up out there.
Two balls and two strikes to Cory Seager.
I'm going to need to see a better game plan out of the hitter right here.
That ball was at his eyes, three and two.
Now Gavin Lux waits on deck 32 pits fly ball right down the line, in left.
After it is McCutchen, he makes the play really had to hustle to get to that 12 gone Now, stepping in and ready for another shot.
He went down on strikes.
Last time up, two balls and a strike.
Here it comes, and they'll back him off of it with a fastball in.
But it's three and one now lifted the other way out to left center.
McCutchen on the moon makes the catch, and that's the ball game.
Well, the skipper has to be pleased they go on the road.
And when the 1st 2 of this three game series playing for the Sweet Tomorrow, a six nothing shut out to finish off tonight's game.
