What down? Bullet music is still loud.
I'm tryingto I hate my Internet.
All right, all right.
No, not touching a dang thing.
Not doing a dang thing.
I can turn off the music if you hate it. Just let me know.
I just want to listen to something nice.
While we're doing this, I'll let people come in, Say, what's up and, uh, get into some questions.
Get into Kenny Atkinson.
Get into D'Angelo.
Russell will do whatever we want to do. All right.
Got the Yankees hat on because on the fake assed Yankees had he spent in the business a man.
My first album took a shower.
Um alright, CEO, the crowd is today.
We'll see. We'll see Way.
You know, if you like the sound and pop into the chat, say what's up? If you're here, bash my mama.
Oh, I look crazier.
And I'm looking back at this playback.
I hate this part.
Waiting for people to come in or not.
What's up, BB? Mark was going on like make this with Bush a que Barcelona.
I don't know who this is.
Feel bad, but what's up, man? Appreciate the poppin bottles thing.
Um, all right, let's get into my little narrative thing, and, uh and then we'll make this happen.
If you If you hate the music, let me know.
I can turn it off if it just, like, is not a don't move.
Um, so let me pull up that quote today because I thought it was pretty interesting.
And I kind of brings me back to last year, which I was happy about with the D'Angelo Russell thing, but, uh, yeah, give me just one second.
All right, So? So there was article by John Chris Zin ski.
I'm really sorry.
I really like his writing.
What? Some work muddies good, bro.
I actually went into Give me Let me read this quote and then I'll let you know how my day was.
So so basically So John Krasinski at the athletic.
He wrote this big article kind of profiling D'Angelo.
Russell John's really good, Like I've been reading him for a while.
He's one of those guys that I just like to keep up with, really, since, like, the athletic kind of started so Uh, yes.
So he did this really big, nice long article, and they had a little bit about Brooklyn.
And he I'm just gonna read the excerpt, which my guy Brandon put up on Twitter and he said, Looking back at it, DeAngelo isn't ready to give Atkinson all the credit in his eyes.
Atkinson on Lee went to him as a last resort when Caris, Levert and Spencer Dinwiddie were injured.
I'm not going to give it to Kenny, he said.
Uh, I still don't think he knew what he had.
Honestly, I don't think he knew it.
I was capable of in the fourth quarter.
So, man, those were like some pretty pointed words.
Hung D'Angelo, Russell.
And it was, like, kind of interesting to see that, Like, I guess, Um, a like, a full year after everything happened, that happened.
So yeah, man, I thought it was pretty interesting to see that from just a perspective of somebody that watched them all of last year and watched them kind of work together and grow together and succeed together.
It waas it was It was just a really, like, interesting.
Like, I wonder what was going on behind the scenes type of thing.
Uh, I will say, Like when he was pulling him, Russell was not playing out of his mind.
I don't think that the bench ings were do cause I don't know if I really believe in the whole nature of like benching a player.
If he isn't playing well, if he's somebody that you are obviously like, your organization is going to invest a lot of time in.
But, um, it it was I will say, like if you were to make the case for Kenny Atkinson, it's that Russell really wasn't playing that well, and he really didn't get going until like that mid December.
I would say so, Yeah, you know it.
There was a little bit of a crossover, though, as as marchers pointed out in the uh in that.
And I guess that period when De Lo was getting benched was he was he really was getting benched all the way till January.
Now that mark mentions it, so I don't know.
I mean, it's it's the big blemish with Kenny, I think is that he's stuck in his ways.
It's like a part of It's like a different style of adjustments, but, um, it is like it all kind of is like the same sort of web of things.
Like he just doesn't like to adjust how he does his rotation.
He doesn't like to adjust things, game the game.
So this is just a grilled clear example of that that he felt deep in his heart that, hey, I should bench this guy, you know, even though he's got a lot of pedigree to him, he could be really important for us.
You know, this is this is what we're gonna do with the Andrew Russell.
We're gonna be putting him on this, like program almost on and just like effectively, no venture and fourth quarters.
I don't know. I don't agree that.
I mean, here's the thing is like, you want to have your best players in at the end of games and with what they were working with at that point, he was going to be one of their best players slump or not.
So that's my big takes on.
I can get into it a little bit more if you guys like if there's other questions about it, but I want to spend a little bit of shots.
That was the point of this mark.
My day is good, man.
It was It was strength.
So I wanted I did my first shift at work, which was super weird to Dio.
If you guys don't know, I worked at a sports bar to make extra money, and, uh, it was weird to go back in like I'm doing to go order stuff.
So that's like a different style of work, I guess.
Not really as much of, like surfing like bartending people in your face type of thing.
But it is like going back in there and it's like it was is definitely strange, like I spent the entire time, like, you know, sanitizing things and doing stuff like that.
So it's a very different scope of work.
It's just kind of weird being back at work in general.
I mean, this is probably about as close as I've come to doing sports stuff full time, so that's a little bit of an adjustment.
This is not something I have to go put into my schedule.
I mean, you know, a sign I signed up for this.
So yeah, that was that's my big thing today? No.
Otherwise I got a phone.
So? So hopefully that takes care of a Honestly, I really haven't needed the phone until today.
This is the first day where I was, like, if I get called in or whatever, like now that I'm back toe, like having a riel.
Uh, it's like work life, a normal life.
So that's that's That's what my day is.
The big highlights.
So, yeah, that's That's it.
It's It seems like nothing.
But this was actually compared to what we're living in.
This is a pretty big, big day for going teen outside of, like, creating stuff.
Um, Andrew, what's going on? Been watching some 2016 Olympic highlights on YouTube.
Olympic Melo to the Nets.
Uh, **** Olympic melons of the Nets, huh? You know, I could get into a little bit of ah Melo on the nets.
Buddha. My strangers crash.
Yeah, Olympic dude.
So Melo was interesting for, like, two weeks.
I could get into it if they need, like, a spark plug like, type of wing score.
I think that would be pretty interesting for them, but yeah, I send me that, Actually DME that or dropped it in the comments.
And for those Melo highlights, I'd like to watch him.
I love the whole Melo, The playoff Melo thing.
People would just hypothesize like, Hey, do you think Melo can? Yeah, can can play like this Olympic player next, Teoh a bunch of like Hall of Fame players, a tely sta at that time, coming to O K. C.
A superstar player like you think he's willing to do that.
And people are like, Yeah, it seems reasonable, like it's a lot different when you're playing next.
I don't know Andre Roberson and Steven Adams versus playing next to you know LeBron James and players like that.
So I always thought that was kind of funny to think that he would adjust to that exact Olympic Melo version of himself, but a man Melo proved that he had a place in the league, at least for a little bit during that, you know when he first got back.
So if that's something that the Nets need, like a little bit of bench scoring right now, actually think their bench pretty stack with scoring.
I don't know if they need him.
They really just need somebody that can defend the three and four.
But I could get into it.
Why not throw it in there? What's up, Bruce? Do you like my Kenny Atkinson here? I look like any tonight.
That quote you were mind you reminded me of in Mike Malone's quote of last year's on Harris.
Murray Yokich basically saying he had to leave guys in when they're playing bad to show that he believed him.
Yeah, like so. That's a good point.
Uh, wow, that's That's a really good point.
Like when you saw him turn this music off, It's actually driving me nuts.
Um, the the thing with Denver last year was that Murray was really, really bad like that.
First, I think was the first game where he missed that floater against the Spurs.
There were, like, real questions about like, Can you play this guy like, Is this is this guy just like a You know, a guy regular season, like, you know, whatever is this Is this a guy that you can count on deep into the playoffs, and then ah, and then, like, yeah, he kind of rode with him, and Jamal Murray was weirdly like, kind of reliable by the end of it after coming in Super Rocky and that first serious.
So I think I totally believe in that man, like the idea of just trusting your guys and believing in your players.
I think that is really important, especially when you have younger guys like D.
Russell is still really young's with 23 now, so you gotta let him play through his mistakes.
I don't think that's the way you handle that.
And we saw that this year to with Cool Brooks, who was obviously like a lower tier player, I guess.
But I think that's important, even keep.
It might even with like, no Wahba like, I just I don't know.
It's really tough to manage a rotation.
I think a lot of time is fans.
We, uh we kind of overlooked that, but it's really easy.
I think it's really it's it's tough because you have guys, especially this Nets team, that there's so many vets this year that you felt like should be playing and like there were points where all of us were arguing for Moussa getting minutes that really were.
It looks crazy now.
I wrote about Moussa this week, and people were talking about this guy like he's like.
It's even silly that I penned anything about it, so but I think that it's easier said than done.
But I do think that that was a big issue for him.
And it's one of those things that maybe not as jarring is like the actual game to game adjustments thing, cause I think that really would have hurt them in the long run with Kenny Atkinson and in the controls, I guess.
But But I do think that it was something to keep in mind, and I think it's something that Marks probably looked at.
That was a nice, long answer.
I'll tryto I got a couple of these.
So, um, I will be trying to speed up on get through a couple of these.
Um, in the 2016 Olympics, the lineup used most often was Katie Kyrie, DeMarcus Clay and Melo.
That's interesting that Clay was playing that much.
Uh, **** really was clip like the other thing that stands out to me from that.
Is that DaMarcus man? This was the second time to Marcus.
His name has come up. I did.
I've been doing another project for this sports caster company that I've mentioned a bunch on my twitter.
I mentioned actually them today.
Ah, and I was doing a little thing on like, but he healed this week.
And, um, I was just remembering like the the sheer amounts of anger and just the way these guys were getting dragged The, uh, the king's at least for dealing, um, DeMarcus cousins for buddy healed.
I just remember like those guys just gotten tracked for dealing, but he healed in some pics for DeMarcus cousins.
So yeah, it's funny how much DeMarcus cousins and, like, I t also like Isaiah Thomas.
All these guys that were really way, way up there in our ranks, you know, top two word or 2 to 4, even five against.
With I t at their position, they've just completely dissipated from the n B.
A landscape. Now they're like fighting for jobs.
It's really weird.
I mean, I guess that's the end before you, but it's funny to look back even just a couple of years, and there's certain guys here like, man.
Remember when he was on top of it? Bruce, appreciate that.
This is actually the This is the grossest.
I've looked at a minute, though.
Funny part is, I'm really clean right now, So, uh, I think this is a big, big miracle right here, but shower and everything.
Uh, BK Nets tweets.
Who is your goat? Uh, Moussa nominally my goat is looking at I didn't catch enough of MJ, to be honest with you, to have a really educated opinion on that, but from everything that I've read and heard, I'm probably gonna say NJ Though the best player I've watched in my life is LeBron I'm 26 So I didn't really catch m.
To be honest with you, I was like what? Like, like, 45 when he before.
So, yeah, didn't have, like, the fondest MJ memories outside of his wizards tenure.
So I mean, I didn't see it real time.
I think if you're a certain age and like, you can feel how you want to feel.
But if you're a certain age and you haven't seen a guy play live than, uh, then I just I don't know.
I don't know, I wouldn't feel like I haven't educated opinion on it, you know? I mean, because you don't know what type of, like fear and will and just all these emotions that he strikes in you from game to game because I can't imagine, Like, imagine you're whatever a fan of whichever team in the in the nineties and you're going against Michael Jordan night after night after night.
I don't know what that's like.
I just don't you know, there's just a certain level of in the moment that I think you miss with, you know, trying toe watch something retroactively, whether it's like an old game or something of that.
Because at the end of the day, you kind of know who he is and what his career shapes out to be.
What you don't have is that in the moment experience, and I think that that is really important to think about when you're doing this goat stuff.
So I try to stay away from it.
But yeah, I I guess I would put Jordan, But it's not the most educated opinion.
Um, what a deal.
Oh, say about Kenny? I don't know.
Yeah, I did that pretty early.
I probably should have chilled out for a couple minutes.
But de lo and appreciate you for hopping on Kevin.
Oh, basically said that, Can he didn't realize what he had in the fourth quarter.
Which, to be fair, I don't think any of us realize.
I'll tell you one thing.
Like he he certainly had a level of charisma and Votto.
But, man, I don't think anybody saw that coming.
I mean, really, like, really, really saw that coming.
I don't think so.
So, um yeah, man, I I'll give Kenny that, you know, to have a guy I mean the game that I think of and it's not the win.
It's not like the Kings game or anything like that.
But there is a game against the Cavs right before the All Star break where the energy was garbage.
Those guys want to go into All star break so badly, and he would not let them lose.
He just refused to let them loose.
And he didn't even start that game off that well.
So I think that that is something that you know, he just the confidence that he built within himself and four himself was, you know that it's kind of hard to even measure.
It really is like, How do you measure confidence outside of Like, I guess, looking at a guy stats It's not something that you can look at retroactively.
I'm using that word a lot today, Uh, and you know and basically understand comprehend.
It's it's just hard to see that from So BK Nets tweets I read your mousse article is good.
I appreciate that.
That was a fun article to write.
I've been in a very good place to writing.
Um, I've just the time off was weird at first, but I've adjusted, and it's kind of nice.
I've been taking my time on things and not like in a rush to, like, try to get things in before the next game.
It's obviously not gonna remain fingers crossed long term, but yet, and I it was fun to write.
I appreciate that, man.
I That means a lot, really does, um, do I know I'm all over the place on streaming stuff? But the writing suffers Were my heart is I'll tell you that much.
Uh, let's see what we got here to be fair.
To be fair, it's hard to justify playing someone who passed up open threes to travel.
What's that? In response to Mark, let me know, because I would like to do because I would love to know.
Let me know what that's in response to.
I'm, like, trying to keep up, but I'm really long winded so I can go on questions for, uh, for, like, hours.
It's more about the timing they treated.
They traded him literally during the All Star weekend.
Oh, this is also boogie on and healed.
Yeah, it was weird like that.
Like that pelicans team went from like this Underachievers in response to I'm trying, like, over 96 just out of nowhere, controlling questions for I thought pretty unusual the least, like well, they were.
I'm trying to think about that.
I guess I gotta think back to that season with So they traded healed for Boogie, and then I think they wrote it out.
I have to think about when he got injured.
Knows the next year when they started off pretty strong, right? I'm getting my wires crossed here.
This is how I've been like I've been messing around.
I feel like the award and watching the Jordan Doc where I can't keep track of what year it is, what day it is that's going on here.
So my wires across from, um, let me know what? How? All this work.
When did they trade for him? And how long were they playing together? Let me know that, Mark.
I know you'll be on this, um, BK Net says once a bro, I believe I am I following you.
We just started falling each other. I'm Sarah.
It's if I'm not following somebody or if I'm not following you, I guess I should say let me know, because I'm I need to work on that.
I dio It's not because I don't want to or I'm too good for it. I just don't.
I get a follower and I don't hit the fall back.
We call it It's a bad habit.
I'm working on it.
I'm trying to be more responsive to just about everything.
So let me know in the comments.
If I'm not following you, I will make that happen right now.
Ah, Roadie benching.
Brody was not good for that first month, and I think it's for reasons, uh, that we don't need to get into a leave it at that.
But, uh, yeah, that was Ah, that was a tough little period.
I would say, Well, it was weird because of that.
We talked about this the other day, Mark, like the it like rookie roadie, just played so freely and so in his element.
And then this year, it was like the complete opposite.
It was like, OK, here's what roadie would look like if he didn't.
It was like we got two different sides of the coin.
So this is last year was, like, the best possible version of rodeo, and this year is like, the worst possible version.
I know the threes were up.
He wasn't really taken that many, but the it was the level of confidence And just like f u mentality.
I mean, I was like, their guy, like, you know, we all talk about Dudley at Davis, will stop Wall Street.
What's up, bro? Uh, good to see you in here.
Uh was saying, Oh, you with Roadie last year.
He was like one of their guys.
The guys that you felt like would get in there and scrap and fight with other dudes.
You throw elbows that people this year is like the complete office.
It this guy was, you know, timid.
He looked like he didn't want to make mistakes.
I think it might have been.
He might have been one of the many Nets players that was.
I have been trying to pick my words carefully because I don't want this to get spun the wrong way that I think treaded lightly because of the expectations with this title team.
So it's a lot easier to be on the 40 to win Nets and not have any expectations at all.
And you know, every time you win a game, it's worthy of celebration.
It's like you want a championship.
Um, and I'm really referring to him and Jared Allen in particular.
That seems a lot easier to play for than the team that's you know now has Kyrie and Katie.
You're wanting to set a good precedent for these guys because these guys join you because of the death, because of the core that you've got because of the level of stability in case something happens whether that's an injury.
Or if you you feel like you need a day off.
That's one of the big reasons that those guys join on every count that I've seen.
So, uh, so I think that that was one of the effects of that is that you're not going to get You're not gonna get guys.
Playing is freely just because of those expectations.
And, uh yeah, what? What? Mark just said zero confidence because the Kate Well, because, yeah, the thing that happened this this this summer and, uh, and the thing, Yeah, the Kenny thing was weird because I think the Draymond remark it it came off is like Kenny was, you know, throwing his roadie under the bus.
But he really said it.
Maurin passing like it was more of like, a laughing matter. Ha.
You know, this guy, um, called himself a, you know, a Draymond green type of player.
When in reality, you know, I don't think that that's what they wanted him to do.
They wanted him to just do what he did the a year ago and and grab steals from mid court.
Uh, shoot threes. Cut.
Just do kind of what he was doing a year ago, and there seemed to be a disconnect.
A cognitive dissonance, to paraphrase my guy DB and I think that carried over.
So it was tricky.
Mark also informed me on Cousins was traded in 27.
Seen injured 2018 left. Pelicans 2018.
OK, so I So I was I even on the right was on the right path with that one.
Um, they started out like 500 ish in that 2018 year, right? That's what I remember.
They were sort of like middling Lee successful.
And then cousins went down with injury, and they actually started playing really well.
Their defense of ratings shot up, and they upset Portland in that Siri's.
From what I remember and who knows, this memory is is shot as I get older and older.
Um, what's wreak a say, he says.
I think the offseason distracts him.
Okay, yeah, in, in regards to Rohde, I do, too.
Yeah, I think it's It's I mean, it's sort of I think everybody knows it now, and we all kind of knew it at the time, but, uh, I think that was a pretty common understanding.
He was in There are a lot like and those were like, those were I was at one of the one of the cases in October, and it was just he was relaxed there for sure.
I don't think he was like, you know, he didn't appear, at least outwardly to be, you know, I guess, like whatever its it seemed like it wasn't I, you know, it wasn't like something that he was.
He just seemed shook about, But he just the fact of having to go do that pretty much every single month was I'm assuming really distracting and really hard, like just 100% focused on your craft.
So yeah, I don't know.
I don't want to, like, know if that's even good information, but it was It was It was interesting to like, be around for that.
Wanting to emulate dreamin isn't exactly a bad thing, though, So I don't get why he was so upset.
Dude, if dreamin was, like, a little bit less appreciate this comment.
Mark, I appreciate you hopping in here.
You put me on the spot helping me out, giving me the alley. Oops.
My getting me on my history today.
So the thing about Draymond and I, he's I think he's declined quite a bit in the last year, and I've just seen that from other warriors.
Guys like a little bit less confident in his abilities.
But if this was like Draymond from a year and 1/2 ago, dude, he would be a great fit.
I know that's not possible with him and Katie, but like, man, that is a great fit.
I would love that, and I voted against Dreamin is like pretty much since the second.
They were good and he was a contributing piece for them.
I just His personality is not something that I find myself gravitating to, but a man if he was somebody that I was around more often and, you know, kind of got to know him on whatever.
I mean, you only get to know people so much.
But if there was at least something where I felt like we were in the same sort of general location and on a team that uncovering that yeah, I think I could definitely I would totally become a dream.
I flipped the script instantly so I could totally get into some dream on here, but, uh, you never know.
Um, all right, I'm gonna go see what we got here.
So what? I'm thinking his shooting is trash, but when he's locked in in the defense is elite, as the passing skills is a plus.
Yeah, in the passing, Like the short roll stuff would be great.
God, they could use a short roll guy.
I want them to do that with Draymond.
But I also can't see Dream Huts biggest going down the lane and and and doing short roll stuff.
So on the flip side, maybe I'm being a little too optimistic that me crazy, though.
You see, like a freight train. DeAndre Jordan.
Coming at you is a usually undersized defender, and he's dishing out passes of the corners.
I'm all for that.
Let's make that happen.
It's like a It's like a refrigerator that confessed to the T corner shooters.
All right, I'm checking and see my Twitter notifications.
See if there's anything going on and then otherwise will probably close the cell.
It sucks that I might So I didn't have my my Ethernet cable plugged been.
And that's why I had to restart this.
I saw my wife fire like the picture was coming in.
I was like, This looks terrible.
This looks like it's ah, like the original iPhone quality photo right now.
Um, all right, working closes out.
I might be doing something in 20 minutes.
I believe it at that.
I have somebody who's gonna come on, and we may or may not be watching this heat net nets game, but I need to check a couple of things.
The guy I want to bring on you need.
I need to make sure he's his attack is all good. I'll leave it at that.
I won't docks him like that.
But I might be hopping on in, like, five minutes.
So we're just doing that impromptu just for fun.
I'm just, you know, this is a light till night.
I just want to throw some catch up with people, answer questions, but, um, yeah, I appreciate you guys.
I want to try to do this more often.
Do this every week.
Obviously, I don't always have a news item to talk about, but in general, I don't really even want to be coming on here doing new stuff.
I want to just answer questions shot with you guys.
Hear about what? Your days air like, talk about whatever.
Uh, what what? WiFi.
You have, Uh, how long your walk was with your dog. Whatever.
So we'll just talk about whatever.
I want to try to make this more of a consistent thing.
Get some one on one time with everybody here.
And with that, I'll see you guys piece.
