gentlemen, boys and girls.
Welcome back to another episode of Sports Tuck.
I am your host, Matthew Talk.
Now, I know I haven't been consistently making it more episodes, but I'm here now live with you guys on SportsCastr.
Um So basically, what we're gonna be talking about are some crazy stuff going on as you see in my top right corner of my screen or your and your screen.
I will be talking about the NFL.
Why are we talking about the NFL? Because there's some crazy stuff I want to talk to you guys about my perspective on sir items and topics.
Let's get into it.
I'm excited. I don't know about you guys, but I am.
All right, So here is what we're gonna be talking about.
We're gonna be talking about my Logan.
Ryan would make sense for Miami.
All right, so we're gonna talk about that.
We're gonna talk about Cooper Cups jurors.
You change all right? Yes.
He did change his number.
So we will get into that bears offense.
Are they better? Then last year, we'll talk about that as well.
Don't count out.
Don't count him.
Now. We're gonna be talking about that.
We're talking about new contract for James Connor and couple more.
We're gonna talk about Dan Quinn embracing about virtual offseason workouts.
Okay, we're gonna get into that.
And lastly, we're gonna be talking about Jason Peters drawing interests.
We're gonna talk about that as well.
So we have a lot to talk about, and I'm excited.
Let's talk about this. All right.
So let's start with the 1st 1 that we have here, okay? And let me just pull up my notes here because it's very crucial that I say word for word situations for you guys.
So you guys could be better informed and understand where I come from as well, So here we go.
We're gonna We're gonna We're gonna talk about why, Logan Ryan, we make the best.
All right, let's talk about it.
Let's get into it. Okay.
For those who do not know, Logan Ryan, please played for the tights, right? And he is an extraordinary place front.
His time is, unfortunately, almost coming to an end with Tennessee now also.
Ah, a lot of people don't understand.
Is that Tennessee Titans? We're gonna actually be called Tennessee Party news.
Imagine them being called a pioneer.
That's just not a team out group.
But they saved them from being having the worst name.
You know, they already have Nashville Predators.
Apparently, that's one of the worst names in sports history.
Um, but we're not talking about that.
We're talking about Logan right now.
Why is the Miami focused or should be focused on Logan? Run now? He's a veteran cornerback.
He could help out the team in defense.
You know, past coverage was covered.
Cover one man a man.
Okay, cover three.
He knows how to do it.
You know the position Very well in the dolphins need somebody in the back field so they can help with the defense and stop the passion.
Okay? And heres something by, ah, very famous person.
Um, in the sports industry.
Might Garafalo, he tweeted can go as far as ah, And why d n did you say the jets are expected to land him as they have yet to submit a formal offer, but they're firmly in the mix.
Dolphins air nosing around, too.
So this also means that that Logan Ryan could also go to the Jets or he could go to the Dolphins.
Okay, so this time actually is coming up in Tennessee.
But what does you have to offer when it comes to the Dolphins? And when it comes to the Jets, the Jets are better than the Dolphins.
Okay, if you want, compare them to, they really are, Um, maybe not when we see them on TV.
But on paper, the Jets is better than adults.
So but can we get the Dolphins defense better if you add Logan Ryan? Or can we get the Jets defense better and actually end their drug? Because, let's not forget, even though, all right, the Dolphins have you failed and failed many times to go to the playoffs? They've gone to the playoffs more times than the Jets.
And when the Jets do go to the playoffs, they choke, okay, and same with the Dolphins.
In the past, the only time they have been successful and beating the postseason was with Dan Marino.
Those two Super Bowl wins.
How's Logan Ryan comes? I guarantee you they could go somewhere.
They have something.
But again, you know he's played seven seasons in the NFL.
Cornerback all right.
When will he slow down or is he going to slow down? You know, how long does he have till he is going to slow down? And yet also put that in? You can't just think short term right, unless you sign a one year deal with them.
But if you don't sign a one year deal, you can't think short term.
You got to think long term.
Is he a great fit for our system in the long term events And we don't know until the season actually plates, and I think he could go to the Dolphins.
But if he goes to the Jets, that's not surprising to me. They also need defense.
They also need better corner.
And as I said, he's a veteran.
So he could help out those rookie cornerbacks where the SEC or Year two quarterbacks and make them better and make them actually want play in the NFL, though, and actually want to defend their team.
And when gains, that's all they need.
But if he goes to the Dolphins, you could help out, too, and actually make toe.
No, we won't know.
Um, so he was in that playoff run and here is what they wrote Well, then ride Tennessee.
$10 million salary in 2019.
Ryan is a versatile the Thunder and the second area could line up on the about boundary or in the nickel.
Like I was saying earlier.
He's also got some history of Brian floors from their time together in New England.
The Dolphins already have signed Brian Jones of free agency and took no in the first round of the draft, but who can never have enough quarterbacks.
Okay, so I 100% agree.
But if he goes into the route with the Dolphins, that's a great addition.
Okay, that's a great move by Miami.
What? Who will pick him up? You won't know.
All right, until it actually happens.
All right, So, like I said, we talked about Logan Ryan and why he would be a great cornerback for the Dolphins and why he's a great fit.
Okay, No, the next one, maybe you guys can ah chime in if you guys want Is cooper cups jersey change.
Is this the right move? Okay, so he's originally on the Rams with number 80.
Okay? And he changed his number 2 10 back in his old dates, right? He's he's reprise praising from his older days and actually using that.
Another 10 10 is from his old dates, so Oh, no, Um because what I think is pretty messed up is Ah, I mean, is your decision I'm not? No, but what I feel about it is Ah, Nike has a ready made the jerseys and stands have already bought jerseys of Cooper Cup.
And then you decide to change your number from 18 to 10.
That's kind of messed up cause they already made your jersey and any change it and I mean, I get it.
You know, it's kind of like the LeBron and ah Anthony Davis situation, but still like, Oh, no, I just hate when players changed their seized their jersey when they're ready made jerseys for you off that number that you're gonna play and then you change is just only just doesn't make sense.
All right, So if you're a Bears fan, you might like what I'm about to set.
We're going to Chicago.
Windy City, Chicago will noise.
Can Chicago Bears offense reverse misfortunes, and Zorn is warning.
Can they be a better offense with who they have in last season? All right, let's get into it.
I don't know about you guys, but I am.
So let's start off with this.
So as everyone is aware and knows that the Chicago Bears and not do their fifth year option, Mitchell tribute on it's still true.
Okay? And they're gonna rely on Nick Foles or are now the reason why they did not exercise their fifth year option on natural trip issues because they want competition for quarterback because now they have a veteran.
Nick Foles, who won a Super Bowl with the Eagles, is gonna be on the Bears and hopefully make the Bears better.
So I just hit my finger on my hand.
So Mitchell's Robiskie is gonna have some competition at quarterback with Nick Foles, and it'll be Nick Foles versus Mitchell.
I think Nick Foles is going to do it.
He's definitely that type of quarterbacks that is able to run a franchise and actually make it something.
And I honestly think Nick Flows is a better quarterback.
Smarter as a better football like you have been in the league longer on.
So I think that is another way.
Also your offensive line coach.
Uh, Juan Castillo, offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, Quarterbacks coach John De Filippo.
Tight end coach Glancy Bar Own. All right.
Those are the new coaches that came in to help the Bears and their better coaches than they had in the previous years.
Okay, And this might be the most important move came out quarterback position where they brought in Nick fools like I was telling me.
Okay, Nick Foles is probably gonna win over that are in a position in Chicago and make them go into the playoffs.
Might be the new Jay Cutler.
Okay? And I just see the Bears actually doing something if they start next force.
Now, if they start with Mitchell, I think they're gonna go downhill because Mitchell is gonna be all set up that Oh, I didn't get most of your optional.
You know, he's gonna have all that kind of child this behaviors.
So I think that if you have Nick Foles, he's a system player.
He knows how to play out of pocket.
He's a precision passer.
He knows how to mess with the defense.
It is a perfect fit for the quarterback position in Chicago.
But again, we'll see now for the next one.
James Connor of your a Steeler sand.
I think you're gonna be happy with this one.
So everyone has known there's a show called Let's Make a Deal and Let's make a Deal because get to just, uh, Victim's Connor from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
That's who got a new contract.
Okay, they're gonna sort of predict the possibility of a contractor, James Carter, with Steelers.
So I think this is what's gonna happen.
All right, So was so since, you know, uh, your collective bargaining every minute places steers were able to reconstruct contracts.
Ah, Pretenders used franchise tax free age, all right? And they're gonna be able to do this.
So if a player were to sign a three year contract for $10 million per year, which I might I have ah, hunts that it might be James Corner.
The first year would have a $1,000,000 base salary and a nine million signing bumps.
I wish I had that, um uh, and therefore the bonus would be spread out to three million over each season, where the player would count $4 million for 2020 and $30 million for the other two years.
So this is kind of, well, we're at James.
Connor just turned 25 last week.
He's been in the pros for three years.
He was the third round 100.
Fists will roll.
Previous contract was a rookie dear deal, so his rookie deals up.
He has to renew, regardless, with the Steelers are a different team regards.
Okay, the 2020 salary cap for the Bears is a $1,000,000 572.
Okay, so a $1,000,000.
1005 $172 is what they have for the salary cap, so they could make a couple moves before where is, like All right, we gotta chill out for a little bit.
Here is what other contracts have gone throughout the NFL so far.
So we got Christian McCaffrey.
There's no there's just no judging now, and he's just a great he's a God.
He's a great running back, you know.
He has $16 million that he signed.
That's his contract.
No, we get to Ezekiel Elliott.
He has $15 million with Billy's 13 mil.
David Johnson, 30 mil.
There Can't RETURN milky A Kenyan break 88 No, and Melvin Gordon is eight mil.
Okay, and so we don't know what the contract will be for James Connor, but we do know there is gonna be a new contract for that Steelers running back.
Yeah, if he does join the Stewarts for one more year, or even if it's a long term deal Kenny break Levy on Bell's records or even a previous running backs of the steals.
I generally do, and I really think that he could break records.
She's that versatile player.
He's strong, He's fast.
He knows how to read the before he knows how to read field.
You know how to read the defense.
He knows which holds to go into, and that's great.
That's what we eat.
So let's hope that the Steelers give him a contract that he is going to need.
All right, now, if you're an Eagle stand, you may know who Jason Peters is.
So here are the team's ah are interested in Jason Peters, kneels, Browns, Jets and Broncos.
I'll say it again.
Eagles, Browns, Jets in Broncos.
So the Eagles could get him again.
Or you could go to Cleveland or New York or Denver.
So it was a Cleveland.
Is that a bad thing, or is that a good thing? If he goes to New York, is that a good thing? Or is that a bad thing? If he goes to Denver, is that a good thing or a bad thing? If he stays with the Eagles, is that a smart decision on the Eagles for on office? All right, now he's 38 years old.
He has recently told friends If Tom Brady could play into his forties, so can heat.
The US has remained in contact with them as other teams.
Gun was not forgetting a 38 year old player at is so plain.
Can he still productive produce where he used to? Dio.
He's 38 He's still he's still trucking.
But is he still the same guy? Can you still be that force to be reckoned with? Okay, He's likely a whole Famer footballer, which is insane.
So he's got was insane, all right, This guy is just beating all the expectations for a left tackle.
Now, if he goes to the Eagles if he stays with the Eagles.
Is that a great decision? Do they need to have him his age to produce the same way or get risen? Bring someone new? And now also so is this Is can he also go to New York and be that guy that we need? Can you be that guy that G that it's way need.
Okay? Core? Can he be productive on the Broncos in Denver And he d that guy that they could look for and to have them just finished office.
And we won't know buying interest.
Those are the teams that are drawing interest on Jason Peters.
If you guys are interested.
Okay? Those are the teams you got the Eagles, Browns, Jets and Broncos.
Four teams all looking out for Jason Peters.
Don't count out Duke Dawson, So I'm going to say not gonna get into it.
I don't want to speak for him.
I want to speak about him.
I want you guys to understand.
Austin, He's gonna He's gonna turn up when the season starts, and then I'll start talking.
But I don't wanna say something, and and it's just like I thought I got it right.
Okay, You know what? Just because you guys were the best, I'm just gonna I'm gonna talk about it.
Don't count out.
Do Dawson, who he is.
He is a Broncos player who played on the Patriots.
Okay? He was basically in an injury red shirt and his rookie season with the Patriots.
But Broncos liked him a lot as a prospect had their eyes on.
Okay, It could have been right be viewed as insurance for Bryce Callahan and whose foot injury wound up costing him the entire 2019 season.
So Dawson hasn't really played many minutes in the NFL, and he hasn't really produced anything yet because he keeps getting injured.
That's why I say Don't count out, out on, He's gonna produce baby.
He's going to, uh, produce.
He has not played a full season in the NFL yet, and he's ready.
The last thing I want to talk about before we close, um, is and quit the head coach.
The Atlanta Falcons is embracing virtual off skis in, um, practices, training drills.
So basically what he's doing and I know high school coaches air doing this.
I just didn't know it was gonna go to the NFL.
So basically this we're going.
So you guys are college student or a high school student? You guys would know this.
Um, so your ah, all in a group.
Me, Right, You're on zoom and basically what it is.
Basically, this is how they run it.
So you have the coach, the head coach, and then after the head coach, you have the other coaches, and they're all gonna be talking about each play, that they're gonna be in the playbook and they're gonna talk about each play on how is going to be executed and especially with the rookies, they're gonna be talking on a group meeting and just be in my head since you're a quarterback, right? So let's talk about Matt Ryan, right? He's gonna be there.
Bill. Hey, Matt.
This is what I want for this season.
And this is the place.
This is that this Is that you some trains that you could do.
Here's something I you could possibly utilize when the season comes.
So I really appreciate the Falcon is doing that that they're not wasting any second.
They're talking to each other.
They're building that chemistry, that family, that foundation that you needed on a team.
And they're doing that on a zoom meeting.
I think that's just amazing.
They're not losing any time during this pandemic crazy again.
Their season does start in August, but, you know, things do happen.
So they got to watching resident Great or really great.
Um, I'm gonna be trying to be more consistent as my schooling is, actually.
Ah, coming down, dialing down, I'm gonna be doing more episodes.
We're gonna do do it even longer for some some of the situations.
We're gonna have some breaking news topics.
Some could soon I'm gonna be done with school.
We'll be done with college for the for the semester.
And then I could do more of this.
Ah, streaming with you guys have some engagement.
Um, and I'll learn to figure out how to produce by that.
That stop to you guys.
I can show you guys certain things.
Um, but yeah, You guys agree.
Um, this is sports Tuck.
I am your host, Matthew talking and, you know, hit that follow button to get notifications when I stream.
All right, Peace guys
