Who? Hi friends.
It's the freaking weekend, even though all the day seemed the same.
Now all right, here we go.
All right, So we are going to break this baby down from round one.
It's action last night.
We're going, Teoh, try to preview a few things to look out for.
Tonight's maybe some key names that are still available, those types of things.
And then we will move along, sign off and let you guys enjoy the draft.
The second round starts at seven Eastern, which is less than an hour away.
So gonna try to get out of here by 6 30 and enjoy the second round and the third round this evening.
So for those of you that do not know me, my name is Jesse Clark.
I write in the stream on behalf of the Unwrap Sports Network.
Go ahead and give us a follow on Twitter and then check me out at Twitter at Jake Rocket 24 if you are not already.
That being said, let's get right into this thing.
Last night was a mixed bag.
We had on one side of things, a lot of Chalky expected picks And then we really had some interesting mix ups here.
I'd say, probably starting around the 12th pick.
Probably if we're being honest.
So just to catch you guys up on what's going on? I know this a graphics kind of small, but it was honestly pretty difficult for me to fit this all into the same window.
And I didn't want to keep producing window after window.
So gonna fly through this list here and maybe point out a few crazy, unexpected things that happened that we might not have foreseen.
Foreshadowing Adam Trotman.
Pick tonight with the U T shirt. Yeah.
Nice little tight end action.
Small school coming in clutch.
Hopefully, you never know, Wes.
So number one pick no brainer.
Joe Borough number two Pick No brainer.
Chase Young number three, Pick Detroit Lions.
Pretty self explanatory there.
Those were all kind of expected, and I tweeted this out last night.
But great night for Urban Meyer, ex Ohio State coach, because all three of these top three picks were recruited by him to Ohio State in all three war the scarlet and gray at some point in their college career.
So pretty exciting time for Ohio State fans and Urban Meyer specifically.
Then we move on to the number four pick New York Giants Andrew Thomas.
Some of these offense alignment are just so interchangeable that it's not a real surprise that he went first.
And then here we g o Yep, Jeremy Cipher, my friend.
A few others I was actually on live right after this pic with Steve Pin Tato at the coaches fantasy coaches.
He actually joined me on my stream last week, and I joined him during the draft last night for quite a few picks.
Actually, I was on for a while, and he's a huge Dolphins fan as well, so he was pretty happy about that pick he really wanted to all along.
He was kind of worried that they were going to take Herbert instead of to us, so that made him happy as well.
And obviously, it looks like in the chat.
Jeremy is pretty pleased by that as well.
Gosh, Corona times who? Sorry about that.
The number six pick Chargers chose Herbert, so we have three quarterbacks picked in the top six, which is my exact prediction before the draft happened last night.
If you caught me alive, number seven, pick This kind of surprised me.
But I really thought that Isaiah Simmons was gonna be a great fit for them losing key Klay and losing some of that leadership in Bradbury that they also had in the secondary and a few other pieces they lost.
Their defense was already horrendous last year.
I really thought Isaiah Simmons was easily the third best defensive prospect in this draft, and I love his athleticism in his abilities there.
So I was a bit surprised that they didn't take him.
But Derek Brown, still pretty good pick and with how much they have struggled in the run game last year in the past couple years.
Even, you know, maybe they just wanted Teoh bring that rush defense and tighten that up a little bit in taking that Derek Brown pick with Auburn.
So then the number eight pick Isaiah Simmons fell.
Man, has anybody had a better off season and Arizona Cardinals thus far? I don't know, be hard pressed to find one, in my opinion.
So at it, tons of great pieces on the offensive side and then one of the best defensive players in this draft on a defense, that much, you know, definitely, definitely needed that improvement.
You could say they maybe could have gone offensive line there as well.
So I was kind of wondering what that pick was going to be, whether it was gonna be Simmons or an offense alignment.
But it ended up being on the defensive side of things.
And then Jags took C J.
Henderson cornerback out of Florida.
Then the Browns took Jed Rick Willis, another great fit for need.
They really needed offense to tackle help, any anything to boost the offense.
A line from their horrendous year last year would be an improvement, and that was exactly what Cleveland did.
Then 11 New York Jets took, uh, Beckton out of Louisville, which I thought that could be the first slot where a wide receiver was taken.
But it didn't happen.
And here was the biggest surprise of the night to begin with.
So everything was kind of normalized to begin the night.
But then, when this Las Vegas Raiders pick happened, that's what really started shaking things up.
They took Henry rugs, the third as the first wide receiver off the board.
And while I do think he is a fantastic talent and you know speed for days, a lot of people were saying a lot of negative things about Tyreek Hill as well, being a gadget player, only speed.
So I don't necessarily feel that way about rugs.
I think he really could make a huge impact.
But what I don't love is this fit.
You know, we talked about this going into the draft last night.
Everything in the NFL depends on where these players go and that fit for Las Vegas.
Unless they're getting rid of car very soon and going toe, get another quarterback that can really push the ball down the field.
I just don't love that fit there.
So again, Maybe it's too early to tell you you Hato Naka pick too much because the coaching staff in front office must have ah, an agenda in mind when going this route.
But I did not love that fit.
They're not necessarily the player just the fit with the personnel that they had.
Yeah, ghost of Al Davis made that pitch.
Yeah, speed for days.
Then we move on to the 13 picked Tampa Bay.
Traded up, actually one pick to take Tristan worths.
Tom Brady is getting everything you want.
So far, he's living the luxury life.
He's even getting toe use.
Other people's houses in Tampa Bay at this point in is early in this Tampa Bay career.
So he's got to be loving it down there in Florida right now, bringing an offensive line.
Men who some thought where that was the best overall offense, align prospect in the draft, falling all the way to the 13th pick to protect him and then 14.
This is where things started getting interesting as well.
I really, really wanted the 40 Niners to take Jared Judy with this 14th pick.
I gosh, I would have salivated over that.
But instead they decided to hold off when wide receiver this early and take one later.
I don't wanna spoil anything, but you can kind of see obviously this graphic you'll you'll see what happened anyways.
Then they took a defensive tackle kin law, to kind of replace Buckner, which I don't know.
It just seems odd to me that they would take a guy.
They're basically just trading off a younger guy.
But Buckner is obviously better in his career at this point.
So it just seemed kind of an odd fit that they would basically trade this exact pick to fill this exact need that they just got rid of.
It just seemed kind of like a non fit there.
But ah, you know, John Lynch has done a great job with Shana and there to build a pretty good team.
So who am I to judge, then? Denver Broncos here, here. Here we go.
Jerry, Judy not in love with this fit.
To be honest with you, I didn't mind it at first when it happened.
But now that I'm thinking back on it, I don't know.
True locks gonna have to make some big improvements for this to pay off.
They already have.
Sudden, they have no offense.
Now they have Judy tons and tons of weapons around lock for him to succeed.
But man, he's got to make a lot of improvements heading heading into year two to make all of this worth it.
And if you don't have the quarterback prospect than all these weapons.
We're gonna get wasted.
I do not like that.
So I hope he makes that big leap that the Broncos are obviously expecting.
And we can see some of these offensive weapons payoff than the Falcons took a J Terrel out of, ah, constant cornerback out of Clemson.
They needed cornerback help. Big time.
They were actually rumored.
Toe. Want to take C.
Henderson earlier, but he honestly got taken by the Jags than Dallas got a CD.
Lamb just fell into their lap somewhere, projecting him to be a top 10 pick.
Probably consensus top to wide receiver, for sure in most mock drafts.
And I don't think that's where they wanted to go.
But I think he kind of just fell into their lap and they felt forced to take him.
You just got to take a talent like that when they fall in your lap like that.
All the way down to 17 was pretty unexpected than the Dolphins, with their second pick of the first round, took an offensive tackle gonna help out to a use that offense a line a little bit.
Then you then we're moving down.
Teoh number 19 and another surprise. The Raiders.
They took David Arnett.
If you guys tuned into my stream early in the week for Round two are Day two Studs.
I mentioned Damon our Nets name in there. I thought he could be a sleeper.
Was it a lot of talk around him? But I watched him there for a few years at Ohio State.
I didn't love him early in his career.
I'll be honest with you.
He was not on my favorite list as an Ohio State Buckeye, but he really did improve this past year.
I think the defensive coordinator and defensive coaching changes that Ohio State had Jeff Half Lee cornerbacks, coach and co defensive coordinator secondary coach really, really helps to develop his game to the next level, and I think he could be a solid pick.
But it did seem kind of like a reach to me for the Raiders to take him because many expected him to be a day to prospect round to, probably.
But you know what? If you got your guy and you like him, you gotta take you got to take him that That's just the nature of the business.
you can't wait around and hope so.
They took their guy at 19.
Then 20 Jaguars had another pick here, Chase on edge rusher out of L s U.
Philadelphia took Jalen Rigor at a TCU, which is an elite skill slash talent guy.
They desperately need some offensive weapons for once there.
So that's a pretty good fit, I would imagine.
There in Philadelphia, some people thought that this next guy was going to be the Eagles pick.
And that is that Vikings at 22 taking Justin Jefferson.
A lot of people projected him to go to the Eagles at 21 actually so back to back wide receivers.
And then the Chargers selected Kenneth Murray, linebacker out of Oklahoma.
Then the Saints took Ruiz center out of Michigan, and then the 40 Niners, like we mentioned earlier, traded this, traded their earlier pick, uh, passed on the wide receiver early to get their guy I uke out of Arizona State wide receiver.
He is, ah, yards after catch monster, very electric with the ball in his hands.
So I think Kyle Shanahan just wants to build a bunch of elite talent guys that can make some noise in the open field and break tackles and just, you know, catch the ball and go and make these big plays because that's the majority of their offense of weapons.
I don't think he trusts Jimmy Garoppolo at all.
We discussed this on Stephen Ta Does Stream last night.
I don't think you trust him, and I think he really wants to put a lot of skill pieces around him to be able to make big plays after the catch.
They have George Kiddo.
He's great after the catch.
They have Deebo, Samuel.
He's great after the catching now that they added, I UGA's well, great after the catch.
They are very creative in the screen game with running backs that are great after the catch as well.
So, ah, lot of game breakers that.
I think they're trying to stack this roster with to potentially take that offense to the next level.
Then this is probably the most surprising pick of the first round.
Jordan Love goes to the Green Bay Packers, the guy in waiting, apparently right behind Rogers.
I can just see Rogers fuming at this pick.
He's got a pretty big ego and I just know he was not a fan of this, but I have been saying for the last week or so I've said on multiple streams that I love to.
Jordan love going to the right team.
He has to go to the right system and maybe the Packers air that team gives them a year or two to develop behind Rogers and potentially learned some things and and has a good offense of mind.
And with LaFleur running the show there in Green Bay, so maybe this will work out for them.
Maybe this is their plan, just like they had with Bret Farve and Aaron Rodgers 15 16 years ago.
They're hoping for the same thing in Jordan.
So again, we'll see what happens.
But if you like your guy, you got to go get him.
And this is ah, think for the future mentality from the Green Bay coaching staff.
I like it mixed things up.
I don't mind it at all.
And then to round out the first round, we had the Seahawks taking, uh, Brooks, and then we had out of Texas Tech than we had.
I'm tryingto look at this small print here on the screen.
I'm trying to remember everybody but the Ravens took Patrick clean A lot of L s U guys in this first round as you can.
It was pretty obvious was going to happen.
A lot of L S u guys three or higher state guys.
And then what do we have next? 29? We have the Titans.
They took Isaiah Wilson offense alignment on a Georgia.
I actually took him in a mock draft with the Bangles in another draft when I traded back in the first round with the Bangles, added another pick in my trade with the Dolphins.
And I took Isaiah Wilson as well.
Just a massive guy.
What he's like 673 65 or something crazy like that.
So big body there that they're trying to protect Mr Tannehill with and then to round out the first round.
We have the Dolphins taking a cornerback out of Auburn, and then we have the Vikings taking Jeff Gladney cornerback out, uh, quarterback, Uh and then big fantasy impact news 30 to the Chiefs taking Clyde Edwards Hilaire crazy that he was the first running back off the board.
Nobody really predicted that, but he was definitely in the top five.
Very, very interesting stuff there On a fantasy perspective, The Chiefs are known for an Andy Reid specifically known for really, really maximizing that production out of the running back position and especially him being such a capable past.
Catcher in the Mahomes.
Let offense perfect fit for Clyde Edger Edwards Hilaire.
They're very, very interesting, picked around out round one.
So have quite a bit of names that were projected round one starters.
You know, round one guys that didn't make the cut.
A lot of defense guys fell.
All those running backs that we discussed earlier in the weaker still there J.
Dobbins, who I did my film study on early in the week.
If you didn't catch that stream, go ahead and check that out.
That was a lot of fun.
And then we have Jonathan Taylor.
We have DeAndre facelift and then can makers.
I expect all those guys to go tonight second and third round for sure.
And then all these defensive guys like McKinney out of Alabama Delp it, I believe out of l s u A few other guys that we're just secondary guys specifically that weren't taken, that could easily make impacts right away.
And we're projected around one guys that just did not to go where we thought.
So A lot of talent left out open on the board tonight just to give you guys a heads up as to what to expect here for draft order in Round two tonight we have the Bangles with the first pick culture with the second pick, Lions than the Giants than the Patriots and the Panthers than the Dolphins than the Texans than the Browns than the Jaguars.
Bears Colts again.
Tampa Bay Broncos, Falcons, Jets, Steelers.
Bears again Cowboys.
Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles, Bills, Ravens, Dolphins again.
Los Angeles Rams again.
Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, Ravens, Tennessee Titans, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks to round out round to I'm not gonna go through around three.
You guys will catch on to it.
If you're that dedicated, that big of an NFL fan, you'll just be falling along.
You probably know what their order is for around two and through anyways, so I'm not gonna board with any more details.
But that being said, that is you know, those were some of the big headlines and round one, and I'm fascinated to see how round two and three are going to go tonight with so much, uh, talents still out there open on the board.
Dobbins, one of the more interesting names I'm fascinated by these running backs and some wide receivers like Denzel Memes did not know in round one, the way some projected.
You know, some other names, like I believe, what Tyler Johnson trying to think of some of the other wide receiver names that I'm forgetting.
Oh, Michael Pittman.
Very interested to see where he goes.
So from the fantasy perspective, I'm definitely going to be paying close attention to where the skill position players go.
I'm not necessarily after the top and defense of guys.
I'm not necessarily going to profess to be a defense of guru where I'm going to be tracking all these defense it picks constantly.
At this point, my fantasy mind is really paying close attention to where some of these skill position players will dough.
Maybe some of the quarterbacks see if any more quarterbacks go in Day two.
So very, very interesting stuff I kind of started off slow expected, but then really started kicking up when the Raiders made the surprise pick with wide receiver there early in round one in the are in the middle of around one.
And then it really went crazy when the Packers decided to think Jordan love.
So those are probably the biggest moves and surprises of around one some winners.
I think Phil position needs. Definitely.
The Dolphins had a good day.
I believe the Browns filled a desperate need, I believe, obviously, the Bangles anytime you can get the number one overall prospect in the draft in a franchise changer.
Potentially big addition for them.
The Lions, obviously one taking Jeff a Cuda trying to think of some of the other teams.
Cardinals getting Isaiah Simmons at number eight.
Big big win there and then Tampa Bay end up getting worths, falling all the way down to 13 Broncos getting Jerry Judy Even.
I don't love the fit ce lamb falling all the way that the Cowboys Dak Prescott has got to be a somewhat happy man.
For those of you that do not know Dak Prescott is brother actually just passed away yesterday.
So some tragic news there for him.
But he will be happy on the football side of things that they were ableto land another weapon.
They have a ton of weapons there in Dallas.
Amari Cooper, Zeke Elliot, Michael Gallup.
Just a lot of weapons there, a good offense aligned to surround him.
So Daq will be pretty happy.
I would imagine in the 2020 season and then just toe point out some other key.
I like that Justin Jefferson pick to Minnesota Vikings at 22 losing Stefon Diggs.
That really needed to fill that void.
And I think Justin Jefferson will be a pretty good piece to fit in there.
And then Jalen Reagor act for the Eagles, TCU wide receiver, Big pickup for them as well.
And then, you know, the Ravens somehow finding a way toe land.
Another stud defensive guy, Patrick Queen falls all the way to them at 28.
So those are my big winners in round one, and I'm very, very intrigued to see how this plays out tonight again.
For those of you that Teoh remind you, round two starts at seven o'clock and I want oh, promo something before I sign off here.
Josh at Josh USN Josh Maher Log is actually doing.
He's a huge Bears fan, and the Bears have a couple picks in Round two, so he's actually doing alive stream throughout the entire round two.
And I'm gonna try to call in their here right after the draft starts, I believe probably pretty pretty early on.
So if you guys can't get enough a draft talking, you want to hear some, ah, guys just, you know, mixing it up and and chatting and catching up with each other.
And it would enjoy that.
Go ahead and check out Josh, a stream that will start at seven Eastern 30 minutes from now.
So that's all I have for tonight.
I don't know if I'll do a stream tomorrow.
I might do a quick one, but that will be just about it.
And then Sunday Just keep in mind.
Remember that part two of the do***entary Siris for MJ's Last Dance on ESPN Sunday night? I'll be streaming on that on Monday, doing a recap kind of like I did for part one as well.
So just some fun little things that look out for.
We finally have sports back in her life.
Kind of don't get to see live action.
But at least we get the have the draft, entertain us for a few days here and feel like we're going back to somewhat normalcy.
So pretty exciting weekend ahead of us.
Thank you guys for tuning in.
Let me know if you guys have any other tidbits or anything I missed or anything you guys want to add to feel free to drop me a message in the chat or feel free toe.
Look me up on Twitter at Jake Rocket 24 or shoot me a text and maybe I can discuss that one tomorrow stream.
So that being said, thank you guys for joining me.
I appreciate it.
