I got a few things to talk about tonight.
A rare night nowadays with it's actually news about the New York Knicks.
Actually, news about the Knicks, we're gonna talk about the Knicks stargazing once again.
We'll talk about that, and I'm gonna give You said I'm gonna give you that on you too, because I know that's a conversation starter.
Some to get out of you too.
Then I'm a log off when we're gonna talk about the next make us in front office news and some updates on R.
Barrett in those Sabbath things, ladies and gentlemen.
All right, so we're gonna go ahead and get this thing popping.
I got my man Nate in the chat, and I'm gonna Come on, we're getting Nate on the show right now so we could talk and, you know, we're gonna get things moving.
Nate, what's popping? Which my brother.
How you feeling? Good, man.
How you doing? Not bad myself, man.
I can't complain.
Can't complain at all.
Except every day.
The blood thing.
That's right. No doubt about it.
You know, um, look, we finally got a little bit of news to to our teeth into when it comes to the New York Knicks.
Obviously, there hasn't been a lot given this.
Oh, Corona virus pandemic.
But there's some news talk about now.
All right? We got some front office stuff to talk about.
We're gonna get to that.
But before we get to that well, I guess this kind of golds into the front office.
Obviously, it goes into the front office.
And I got text last night or this morning whenever it was the same man.
I don't like the way that this sounds talking about the knicks, but the next believe that they are in position to get a star.
That's what they believe, right? And so this right here brings everybody's fear to fruition or whatever.
Whatever word you want to use, everybody was scared.
Rose was gonna come in.
It's gonna start stargazing instead of China build from the bottom up.
It's gonna begin to stargaze and look for a start trying to get a star.
This is the article in this article.
It's by the one and only E. Bagley.
So it s and Y t v and s and y dot tv.
That is why the Knicks feel they are incredibly well positioned.
It trade for N B. A star.
And one front office members said this.
We don't know who the front office member is, but they said this.
It's the best path for us.
It's the best path they believe is the best path with the Knicks.
All right, So here, I'm gonna read the article to you about a week before the 2020 trade deadline.
Some within the next organization.
We're optimistic that they had found that they had the framework of a package in place that would land D'Angelo Russell from Golden State any moment.
Um, mo mentum in the talks with Golden State stalled when then President Steve Mills was removed from his position.
But the next pursuit of Russell the end when Mills was a sub, was reassigned.
So look, everybody thought that it was Mills who was aggressively going out there.
D'Angelo Russell, which it waas.
But it didn't stop when he was gone, it continued.
So it wasn't just mills other people in the front office.
I thought it was a good idea, all right.
Like they say, the Knicks remain engaged with Golden State on rustle up through the deadline.
Even at the reports of Leon, Rolls is higher serviced.
Obviously, we know that the Knicks didn't get Russell, okay.
Russell was dealt to Minnesota, but for what it's worth, one package that was out there that Mills had shot out there included Bobby Portis, Alonso, trader and, frankly, Latina rules.
You know, who knows what kind of draft picks would have been included or anything like that? Um, obviously, the only moves that the Knicks made at the deadline was for Marcus Morris, right? They traded Marcus Morris.
They brought back more Harkless and 20 21st round draft pick in the 2021 2nd round pick.
Okay, the trade leaves the Knicks with seven first round picks in the next four drafts.
Then they have a young core of R.
J. Barrett, Mitchell Robinson.
Kevin knocks Nell Akina, but they have significant cap flexibility.
So because of all of that, this people within the Knicks organization that feel they are, they are incredibly well positioned to trade for a disgruntled star.
If one becomes available, Who might that be? We do not know.
Live a lot of a lot of signs in rumors.
Let me say rumors, not signs.
A lot of rumors point to do well and bead, right, because of his relationship with the 76 is right now.
So there's a lot of stuff that points Did you well and be okay.
And then obviously you heard the rumors about Donovan Mitchell.
And I'm sure there'll be other names that leak out there as time goes on.
Thing's gonna leak out there, so you know who knows, man? Um, the feeling among many in the organization is that the Knicks have so many pics again, seven in the next four drafts that they can afford to send one or two out when they trade if it nets a star.
Okay, um, it seems like and this is according to Iain Begg Lee.
This is what Ian Begley feels, I guess, he says.
It seems like part of jump starting the next short term growth includes being aggressive and trading for stars when the opportunity presents itself.
Nate, talk to me, man.
How you feel about it? Well, my question would be in your and your definition.
What defines a star? Is it a franchise player? Is it a game changers and a transcendent player? What do you define is a star? You know, I It's hard to say nowadays with Starr is a lot of people could be determined.
I think there's a star.
Then there's a superstar than it's always transcended, right? So someone like Jimmy Butler is a star.
Okay, you got your superstars, Uh, you know, a whole year superstars in the league right now.
Uh, like Russell Westbrook.
You just getting windy, defining skill or e category.
There's a lot of categories, right? But you got you got you people like Ah, Damian Lillard. He's star.
Demi, Demi Little is a superstar.
Russell Westbrook's probably superstar James Harden.
I would James Harden might be transcendent, I don't know. Three.
Obviously, Johannes is transcendent.
Anthony Davis is transcended LeBron LeBron.
I mean, at this point of his career is not.
But obviously when he was younger, he was transcended.
You know, transcended is like people that are going to They're going to transform your organization.
Stars aren't going to transform your organization.
Superstars might transform your organization, or they might help, you know, But those transcendent players, they're gonna transform your organization.
How many trains said that players are there in the N B.
A and all. We're getting one.
You're probably not getting those transcendent players.
You know? They're hard to come by.
The only you only get him a few.
They only come on, you know, a couple of power generation or something.
What'd you say? I said, and they don't get let go.
They don't get it.
They get sick, stick with the team, you know, So there's only a few.
I mean, you know.
So you got your star players, you know, they make the playoffs every year.
Your superstars have stew.
You know, your superstars, they make the playoffs every year.
But they have this star power to him, right? They have this marketability tomb that's going to draw people to your, you know, draw people, tear the arena.
You know, people are gonna go out and buy jerseys and sneakers and showed you things like that.
Right? So those guys are superstars.
Well, the stars with this superstars, you know, they're a little bit better than your stars.
But they also had this marketability about him that just brings this energy to your franchise, then your transcendent players.
You know, um, they have it all.
They make the playoffs every year.
You know, they got the star power, you know, the marketability, and and they can transform your franchise.
So, you know, um, it's, uh, it I don't know, man.
I get it. I understand.
And I'm hoping that if they're going to, if they're looking at training for a start.
It they're gonna be smart.
They're not just gonna throw their money at any big name that comes by.
So, you know, um, so you know what I thought when I saw this? Ah, this title, uh, that you watch the last dance.
The part one yesterday? Yes, it it fantastic up.
I learned a lot about Jordan and the history behind it that I didn't even know.
So, uh, encourage anybody to watch it.
If they haven't watched, it's gonna be good.
They did a really good job with this.
Um, So when I watched it, they did a cursor about the bulls before Jordan and how bad the Bulls were.
They have no people go into the stands.
They had nothing, really.
But, I mean, they were the third best team in the Indus in the city.
So I think that, like the Knicks, the Knicks are kind of that way right now. Popularity.
The Knicks are are the most popular in New York's, no doubt, but just the fact is how bad the Knicks are right now.
It kind of made me think of the Bulls.
So what did the Bulls do.
They drafted Michael Jordan.
Now they didn't know how good.
What's gonna be? They just saw him from the tapes and all that.
Now they got lucky.
They draft for the guy who is transcended, returned that team around just by himself.
In the beginning, the Knicks don't have.
I don't think they're gonna have that opportunity to draft somebody that's transcendent like that.
I don't think anybody the draft is ever I mean, never gonna be treated, you know? You know, for a while you're probably right.
But you heard what you just said about Jordan.
They didn't know.
I mean, of course, I knew he was good.
And they knew he was the best player in the country.
They didn't know he was going to be Jordan like the joint.
Now we know Jordan, you know, I'm saying so.
But I understand what you're saying to the point.
The point that I'm trying to say is that the fact is, that more likely they're not going to find it in the draft.
Let's just be honest.
They're probably not gonna find the draft.
You're going to have to trade for somebody now.
The problem is like we talked about their transcendent.
They're superstars, their stars.
The only people I see out there right now, if you're talking Donovan Mitchell, if you're talking Embiid, I would say, you know, Star Mitchell and beat Superstar Are those eyes really going to take your teens? And next level probably Knox, if you put together multiple players, right.
So I think this is what you have to do and you can't expect.
You can't expect that you're going to get a star And you still got R J bad Mitchell Robinson Hopefully, right.
And you put those guys together and whoever the draft pick, it's coming in and then all of a sudden bam just skyrocket to the top.
That's not gonna happen.
That idea would be, you know, you get a star and you have some of these young guys around the star, and now you starting to bug your budding right and players are getting better.
And then you make a move, maybe for the guy that puts you over the top.
I think it has to be something like that, because all right, it's gonna be I mean, first of all those transcendent players don't come around very often.
Most teams that get him, they get lucky when they get him. You're right.
They get lucky when they get home because nobody just nobody knows, right.
They get lucky when they get him.
Um, FBI's, they have not, You know, everyone else is trying to put people together or if they don't get lucky, you know, they're either trade form or they sign him in free agency, you know? And right now the Knicks are in position.
We don't think they're in position to trade form.
We don't know what kind of effect that Leon Rolls is having on the Knicks perception around the league, though.
I will say that we can talk about everything in the news.
This not any other thing.
But we don't know the impact that he has with other players with players around the league because he just may have an impact with some of the players around the league.
And here's here's the Here's the point I want to make to you mentioned free agency.
Listen, Janex and Anthony Davis are going to be free agents now.
Whether they're gonna sign with their teams will know where they got him with somebody else, Who knows? But I think if the Knicks can keep their core and build upon their core, they might have a chance to maybe at least have a sit down with someone two of these guys.
And you're talking about two transcendent players that I would love to get my hands on you.
I love you handled David's or let him handle Johannes.
Don't say one of those dudes.
Yeah, the only thing I'll say is that maybe Leon rolls the respectfully on rolls, gets the next a sit down, but then they still gotta have the infrastructure and police and players coming here.
They don't have the infrastructure in place, you know that.
That's the way I have a one 100% true on that.
Probably they gotta have the infrastructure in place.
Gamma was popping, man.
Mark, how you feel about the reports coming out that the Knicks feel that they are in a good position to land a superstar? They didn't say win.
Then I saying this summer or next summer, they just said in Bagley that they feel like they're in good position.
They position themselves well, the land a star player.
I was just way have a boatload of just like unusual assets and picks, especially this year and potential next year that can entice a team.
Thio say Okay, next.
Have to, you know, lottery lottery picks.
And because they're not a winning team, it will have some impact on an excellent realization.
If we was a trade for any disgruntled start, so one that will be one, too, I think.
You, me, our Rose.
I think he has some some staying power with some of his Let's say, uh, people who use anybody I would say, E, I would just say Time will tell you You guys alive, you guys alive.
You guys be able I would just say Thomas Time will tell.
I won't see this year I was there were like 2021.
Things could get interesting for us, but I won't say I won't say now in next year 2021 2021.
I believe something will just come up dependent on our things.
Go next year with basketball and stuff like that.
But I just think we have lying because off, you know, the young players that we have and gonna understand that just teams is always going to take a willful and young players.
And, you know, we have decent young players decent, that seems, would just take a whiff est, especially if it's coming with, you know, lottery picks.
And they're trying to get their disgruntled stars.
So it's just like, you know, it could be a win win situation because we felt that our young guys aren't up to par before we have to pay them, you know, us us, you know, distributed them to get a disgruntled start that I feel that that can, we can put in place we can put in place just because you know where New Yorkers things are going right in the front office. Number one.
Things get, things can happen.
I think with Whitley all rose.
If he puts the right people together and it's running seemly with no is truth in the type of extra, extra, extra read all about it, you know what I mean? So So So So you think so? You do think that Leah Rolls you really have a positive effect in, um, at least at least getting the Knicks at the door.
at the doorstep Because of this personality, I think he's a guy that you can go in place running talkto.
You just look at the landscape of all the stars and teams that they're running to.
Just look at Brooklyn, for instance, extending it direct with the land in New York.
He will be in the news just off of nothing, period.
And what in Brooklyn is doing for those two? They are being protected in the media. Buy them.
They are being protected Tian extent, where they don't have to speak one iota one iota.
Kevin the Red hasn't spoken out in media since he left Cold and State.
Just sit down and think about it, and that's what.
And that's what some of these stars want.
Somebody saw it was just one of our then play basketball and don't want to have to deal with that.
I think I think it's too okay.
If lead on rose to get some of the stars in New York and protect them to a certain extent, I think that you'll be able to sit down.
But not the fact.
The fact that again, salary cap and came players a issue getting players to come here unless you get an established star to say, Okay, I think we all roads are gonna The star will tell other plants come along and the salary cap wouldn't be.
And going over the sauerkraut would not be an issue.
So if a team, if this instance just saying John is the evidence that you know what let's team up.
And then we other players surround him.
If to wait at least two or even one of those type of players that will give that will give that the instincts that other plans, like everything's are small the year.
And I trust Lee our lows to run it correctly and higher today.
I think I was a good move.
Barley are rose from a captain cop wise.
You gotta talk about talk about that in a little bit.
Let me get around, get to some other guys and see what they think real quick, and then they will get moving.
Gamma will come to use.
Test out that Mike.
How you feeling, man? You can hear me. Yeah.
Loud and clear. Sounds good, man.
Uh, no offense, Mark.
That was a whole lot of nothing, bro.
um, getting expense.
We don't learn how **** lesson we don't learn our lesson that we No one wants to come to the mix because of Leon Rose, right? You know what happens like is not like Leon Rose is the Godfather that if you don't sign with the Knicks, you and your family can end up dead.
They're just going pick another agent or another person unaffiliated with non affiliates in Leon Rose.
The Knicks are not going to attract major stars or the proper stars and without bring another fiasco.
And you weren't about these major free agents, they don't want to come.
These guys look, Everybody watched the last dance on self enjoying herself.
They're not you.
It's a It's a dearth of players who want to come to the Knicks and rebuild it from the ground up there.
Very few guys wanna build.
It, came on by themselves.
What they want to do our play with what they wanna do is play with guys who are talented.
They want to be surrounded by talent so it could be easier.
So winning a championship is that much more attainable.
And I'm talking about the stars and superstars, Whatever.
We're not gonna try anybody without us winning.
Instead of focusing on free agent, you know what's gonna happen? I'm gonna focus on the big creations, right? And they're gonna put out to the world just like they don't now.
Allegedly, we want this super.
So are we want to get these superstars, Bob lot, right.
We don't get that superstar and to make up for it, you know what they do.
They're gonna sign some second tier superstar or trade for some second so called star who individually ice and I say situation and a bunch of as a bug has a good stats but doesn't fit the team.
And we're not elevate the team.
That's what the Knicks have been doing for years, and it's like we do not learn our lesson.
Now we're trying to go around properly, drafting a properly draft.
You bring in the proper GM, the proper scouting team, the proper president.
But we're going down the road of trying again.
We're saying, Oh, yeah, I clean myself up, but I don't need I don't need no abusive man.
You go right back out and you get a number and it was open.
It's think differently about war before versus hey, let me start from the bottom that the path we got my Let me go for it.
Let me go for the right guys are seeing right now, Bill with that person.
But the family Bible block.
That's what we were Just like, these things cook the complaining checks.
We've learned that this just doesn't work, but this just doesn't work.
So please, let's stop thinking at least create the superstar freeze. Gonna come here.
They don't want to know You heard about was want Donovan, you chew And that might be a ah, contract or whatever.
And the future or get Garber are removed.
We got we got a lot of this. That's just how it is now.
It doesn't work for us, bro.
Build from the bottom up, man.
Okay, now, I mean, I feel you I really love building from the bottom up.
And I know we have a lot of draft picks and all that kind of stuff.
Save him for when you, for when the time is really, really right.
And I understand you collect draft picks so you could make a move right, saving for when the time is right.
That's how I feel about it.
I'm saying way not a buildup team.
I'm sorry, one with you.
When was the last time the one with the so called super stars are supposed to come to the Knicks? I just don't everybody.
There's something I don't understand what New York sports people say it and say, Oh, New York fans are impatient, Bob.
If New York fans were impatient, that means all the crappy New York teams will have literally zero fans because we would have moved on Newark friends, actually extremely loyal.
We just want a winning product or something that's trending towards ah, winning product.
You draft the proper way.
You signed it from the right free agents when they're available and you sign them.
If they fit the team and the team chemistry, you don't just put guys together because hey, average 17 and 10.
Hey, that looks good.
On paper, it doesn't work for New York, New York in the place where both your mentality and your production and your chemistry, all three things have to match and mess with the team We're not Indiana.
We're not a place where guys and come and play without the media, whatever the spotlight and provide you seen in 10 and get you to a second around in the playoffs.
We're not that type of team guys at that.
The problem in town.
And we've seen as you see what? I'm not getting juice around so much, but we've seen that choose random guess in isolation.
He's a guy like, yeah, that might work and it didn't And you think that's gonna work for somebody who wants to come to the Knicks and build from the ground up? I know what you know.
I mean, I feel I feel you.
I feel I we'll see.
We'll see what kind of impact Leon Rose as as we move forward.
I do want to say this to the chap.
We're gonna continue this conversation, but I want to say one thing to the check before I asked you to come on over the SportsCastr and continue the conversation on SportsCastr the last time we will live.
We brought up a scenario about the Knicks trading up to the first pick and everybody in the YouTube chat said you know, we was bugging out.
And with dreaming and all of this kind of stuff.
Why would Golden State do that? Dan? It ended, and it ended up right.
You remember that game? Oh, yet Ah, one for moving up in the draft.
So I'm gonna memory sometimes show something, everybody.
I'm gonna read something to everybody.
Hey, I want you to check this out.
It says, And you can go look for this.
Look it up for yourself.
Sports speculation continues to percolate, indicating the Warriors are more than willing to move down in the 2020 draft.
Even if they're holding the number one overall pick.
Why not? There are plenty of intriguing players not projected as high lottery picks.
One such prospect is Villanova Study Bay, who was a quip with many of the three Indy attributes the Warriors needed.
Wanna be's well coached, has a high I Q.
At both ends and during his sop****re season, played wiser than the typical 20 year old.
He shoots a Suite three.
He can guard multiple positions well, and his work ethic affirms its hunger and squelches any questions about the love of the game, Okay? Everybody looked at us and they said, Man, you tripping you're bugging is no.
You know, the worry is not trying to move down out of that number one spot that I'm not saying that this confirms it.
Obviously, there's something out there in the water that says, Hey, they might be willing to move down so that they can ac***ulate more assets If they were willing to move down so that they can ac***ulate assets.
Then, yes, that opens up the door for a team like the Knicks who could end up being in 1/6 7th 8th spot.
Ah, place where the Warriors may not mind drafting, study, bay or player like Siddique Bay.
So all I'm saying, everybody you know, people say, Oh, that's hogwash.
L just dented it.
But before we get to that conversation, ladies and gentlemen, just about time I bring this exclusively to SportsCastr and I want to hear all you guys.
I want to hear all you guys.
I want to hear what you got to say.
So come on over. The SportsCastr.
The link is in the description, and it's also right here in the video check, okay? And then the mute somebody out up here.
It's also right here in the video check.
I'm putting the Lincoln there so that you could come over the SportsCastr because this show is a SportsCastr show, ladies and gentlemen.
So I know that some people like, man, why is he leaving? Why's he going to SportsCastr bluff above a blind? All that good stuff? I get it.
You know, I'm saying I definitely understand, but still come over the SportsCastr and enjoy the rest of the show again delink us in the description.
All right? And I'm putting the link.
I just spammed the YouTube chat.
You can come on over the SportsCastr and join us on Nick's Weekly the rest of the show.
OK, we're gonna continue talking about this situation with the draft pick.
I know you want to talk about us and come on over and talk about it.
We're gonna talk about the New York Knicks making a higher, and we're gonna talk about Brock Island.
What he might mean to the front office.
We're gonna do some updates on R. J. Barrett.
We'll talk a little bit more about this Bernard King movie.
It's some other stuff that has to do with the New York Knicks, ladies and gentlemen.
All right, so I'm about to hit my transition to SportsCastr, Ladies and gentlemen.
All right, Please see me own SportsCastr, folks.

My friends, You to join me on, SportsCastr.
Want to see that right now? Right, Ladies and gentlemen, let's get this popping my friends over here on SportsCastr.
Thank you guys for staying here, being patient with transition, everybody over.
So we're gonna continue this conversation, man.
You know, any conversation that comes up, whether it's, you know, the knicks getting a star or if it's, you know, moving up in the draft game? Oh, you want to go ahead and, uh, just comment on that real quick person one more time.
I had to come back into the chapel there.
You said one more time.
Soon we were You know, you know, we were talking about the possibility and that the possibility.
But it just it be implausible that the Knicks could, you know, try to entice the Golden State Warriors on Ah, you know, trading down and they trade up.
They really want that first pick.
Um, depends on what we have to give up.
I don't feel I don't want to get fleeced for any of our premium picks and 19 premium.
Any of them that could possibly lottery picks.
Now they won't want the Mavericks picks fear enough.
They want the clickers picks pig.
They want to like, say, the Mavericks picking Knox.
I do that to trade.
I'm not gonna do that.
I'm just thinking, cause I just don't You don't need to mix any assets, right? But if you're talking about if it's not too much, we're not giving up.
Out first this year. Out first next year.
You know our premium first next year and and some of the accommodates the Mavericks pick and the Clippers speaking that a player.
No, I rather stay away from that because obviously warriors air.
Well, I'm not even talking about if you would do it.
We're not talking about If you would do it.
What we're talking about is is it something that could potentially be a conversation? Because, you know, people in the chat, we're like, Not That's not even in the conversation.
You guys are crazy because included Mitchell Robin the words in a weird position where they are trying to get someone fits a system now, but someone who could still be there for the future.
Because guys that play curry, they're getting up there in age and they also get a little hurt right there.
Little injury prone.
So they might be looking at this draft.
Like, you know, we could get a three D Wing or a guy who could kind of play what the Katie Harrison Barnes will like.
A floor space, the floor play good defense.
Um, it might be looking for that, and I absolutely have the number one pick.
You know, they could still get that player at a little pick and pick up more assets.
So, of course I mean, that's that's definitely a possibility.
And you're talking about what Leon Rose these guys to talk about.
It looks like this star shock over.
Let's get superstar talent, whatever and I'm not.
Look, I like that.
Well, they didn't say anything about moving up.
This was brought up in our check.
They didn't say anything about making a move to get to the top.
This was brought up in our check When I read was that the same war isn't willing to the free agent.
I'm just saying that when I think of that, they're probably thinking more.
So let's try to go after the guy that we think can be a super.
I'm just thinking that this could be their mentality right there, looking at freezes like that.
It must be looking at the drive for Hey, let's get a Our guy was really high school, which is not a bad thing.
But sometimes it could be that something is saying that that could be a mixture where you could see the Knicks possibly trying to move up for Edwards on the Warriors coming into his A.
We're gonna get a bunch of picks and because we have to retool for the upcoming year because our main guys getting hurt and we have to also replace production that we lost my cake from Katie.
So it is everything's possible by me as a probability that I'll probably give it 30 40%.
But again, the Warriors, they're not dumb.
They could be posturing.
I don't know what the hell they're doing.
They could really like somebody.
They'd be doing this.
Whereas I well, we really like saying the Edwards, but we want it where they have someone gives us this ridiculous offer and they know that we're a We're kind of open for business.
It will do that.
So this is smart posturing, bythe it could be.
But I can really see, you know, when you when you I guess they we go.
You have to see what the warriors feel about they.
You know, Steph Curry, Draymond green in Clay Thompson.
I don't feel about them coming back together.
And if they feel they need I don't see how.
I mean, I guess a big man, right? I don't see where Edwards kind of fits into that.
Just like Daniel Russel didn't fit into that.
No, that's why they moved them, in my opinion, you know, listen, they signed him is to teach words at words.
He wouldn't be say the perfect sit because of hot a play.
But if you look at how they kind of deploy Andrew Wiggins this year, right? Um, I would think they would want.
But that's what big eyes and hands a lot.
But it is a guy who doesn't have to shoot as much, uh, kind of spaced out the floor.
Play good defense and a slash to the basket.
Kind of take the car show off. Those two other guys remember.
That's what Katie and Harrison Barnes kind of date, right? They kind of They also had the responsibility.
I won't say it responsibly.
That the role of I guess so.
What off? Kind of slash to the basket once.
You know, the ball kind of got moved around from Katya Clay, right? He was kind of the kind of kind of played off those guys.
So could they move like that as, like a two guard? Maybe put clay of the three.
I feel like a e.
I feel like he needs to have the ball in his hands a little bit more than they probably want to.
We talk about Cady Cady could and he doesn't have a jump shot.
I'm saying that could be, Oh, what you mentioned you mentioned Harrison, Barnes and Cady both those guys could really shoot from the outside.
You know what I'm saying? And you know, they could be a guy that you boom, boom, boom dip kicked the ball to.
They really could play well, moving off the ball.
He doesn't play well, moving off the ball of lead that at this point in his career, someone likes a bay.
He fits what they want to do perfectly, and they're trying.
I'm telling you right now, the Golden State Warriors, if they get that number one pick, they gotta pay that guy $10 million a year, right? They are trying to keep their salary cap down so they could make a move for Yanni's.
I don't disagree with that.
That that surgeon maybe definitely could be changed foot down Pacific Bay.
Um, it's just interesting how the impostor, because you would think that you would hype up the the idea of bringing Edwards on and then have another team that really wants.
It was trying to throw you a king's ransom versus say, and we're open for business, and maybe that might drive down the premium you get for because now everyone knows you're open for business, you know? And it seems like they'll least presume that you really want to get down.
So get out of that prison and get down in the draft.
So if you offer you less because you just want to get out of the Pistons, just get assets versus Hey, we like Edwards and someone comes in.
Says they will give you Ah, whole bunch of stuff. It fits again.
So it's weird how that kind of posturing the I get it, I get it.
You know, that's how you create.
Ah, bidding war.
You know, I'm saying, um, Nate, I'm gonna come to you in a second.
Let me get around to some of these other guys who just joined us and other nicks news.
All right? And I'm gonna come in. Isaiah.
Next will be ready as they and other nicks news.
You heard Mark kind of loot to it earlier.
Um, for former clearly.
Former Cleveland Cavaliers executive Rock all er will be a high ranking basketball official and the chief strategist, but next president Leon rolls okay of the details off his title with the team are still being worked through.
And this is according to s. And why.
Ah, TV, this is Ah, and article by Ian Bagley, Of course.
The guy that I trust the most when you talk about New York Knicks news is in Bagley.
Okay, The deal is expected to be completed within the next week.
Oller? Oh, Taylor, I hope Hopefully I'm saying his name.
Right. Oller Kohler.
How? Where? I don't know. I'm not sure. I guess I gotta hear.
It will help Rose navigate many different aspects of the job.
Several league sources said Allah, um, Rose's first fun office higher will be one of the Knicks.
What will be one of the new Knicks presidents? Right hand men, Right.
So he's gonna be right there with the guy.
Is expected to help Rose navigate the waters to strategize on how to build out the front office Coaching staff and which player personnel moves to pursue his responsibilities will not be limited to salary cap strategy, which is his forte, But it's great to have a salary cap guy in there.
Alright, Braca summon.
Leon is going to lean on a source it.
Okay? Allah is, Ah, highly respected in league circles.
It was considered Dan Gilbert's close confidante.
It was instrumental in Cleveland's run to the 2016? NBA title.
He's known as a Cape. Apologised Ahlers.
Oller Ah is savvy in that field, his his savviness in that field.
Let's a key moves like Iman Shumpert and J.
Smith being traded from the next to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Hey, it was a senior director of basketball operations in Cleveland.
Gilbert Dan get what was his? Gave a lot of praise for Oller, right? Calling him a salary.
And that's exactly what you need here.
I'm telling you all.
It's probably one of the final apologised in the league, Gilbert told Cleveland dot com and 2017.
He knows more about the captain.
Probably PricewaterhouseCoopers knows about the IRS code.
He lives with the cap with the collective bargaining agreements.
So and currently, Obviously, Scott Perry is still the GM all right, and Allan Houston is a candidate to remain with the organization under rolls or some capacity.
So both of those guys Scott Perry, Allan Houston, you know, probably gonna remain with the Knicks.
So there you go, Ladies and gentlemen.
That's Ah, no, that's some news.
That's a fun office news.
And Isaiah coming to you may.
Well, what's going on? Soon.
All right. Brock Collar Oller aller.
However you say I'm not sure I'll find out shortly.
But what you heard from about him? How do you fit? Um, someone really mixed, man? Because something I sent you imagined you'd think that a man that really disturbing Cem, you know, seeing that whole like, you know, the Knicks position themselves to get a grunt.
Old star, man, I'm, like, always says that they feel like they're in position.
Now that they are positioning themselves, they feel like they're already in the position, you know, because if you think about it, they are right.
The dealers and really, really, really hope that they don't know.
Some I just want to boot it the right way, man.
And you know, I mean, if the opportunity to present itself.
But I just don't Don't go back to 2010 you know, I'm saying, don't do that.
Um, but, you know, with this other guy, that is.
I think he's a big ****ytics guy.
Something like that.
NYSE a cab capsule.
Okay, It was the best at what he does.
You know who's got to get some smart people in here that can mean it.
The cat, I mean, right now, Sam, I mean that our camp situation is really, really good.
It's probably one of the best in the league.
People will say we're dysfunctional, but we have one of the best cap structures right now in the league, you know? And we control a lot of these concepts, which is the most important part.
So hey, here's did you know that I think people miss and maybe Scott Perry didn't have this capacity.
Or maybe he just didn't have a care apologised there to have this capacity.
It's not just about setting up your contracts to expire at a certain time.
It's about finding those loopholes, how you could make moves within a cap structure, right and finding those little tricks of the trade in knowing those little tricks of the trade to set you up to do things now and in the future.
You get what I'm saying, just knowing all those little nooks and crannies and loopholes and things like that.
Ah, Thio progressive your team forward, you know.
And that's probably something that he could do. I don't know.
I do not ever remember the Knicks having a cop, biologist or someone who can.
You know, I never remember the Knicks having that, and I think that is great to have.
I'm gonna say this.
People can say what they want and I know how some people feel about Leon roles, and I'm not sure what to expect from him yet. We'll see.
But this is what I do like about him.
So far, he's quiet.
He's behind the scenes like they said.
He likes to be behind the scenes.
He's behind the scenes, It's quiet and he's just he's going about his business so far, right? And he's making a higher that, you know, everyone always says, You know, we don't want the next to hire these names.
Well, Leon Rolls wasn't a name until he was hired by the Knicks.
Nobody in here knew who Leon Rose was.
Maybe you heard him in passing.
Oh, yeah, Someone's those.
Agent Lee, I rolls.
But you never paid attention, right? You know, Brock Collar, everyone.
That chap, Who is this dude who was Brock Oller? These are the kind of guys we actually next to higher right, guys that don't bring the notoriety behind them, at least in the public circles.
But I had the respect around the league.
You know, me, uh, respective players, respective other managers, things like that.
I guess broad collar is going to be the kind of guy that you know, We all said that Leon Rose needs somebody t help him run the ins and outs of the business of running a basketball team.
That's what brought dollars there to do.
You know what? What's your take on it? What's it take on it? Um, yes.
I mean, listen, I'm always down for the quiet and knowledgeable people, man.
That's what the next big meeting we've been meeting.
We don't need the big name.
You don't need that.
You know, the only big names that I really, really want it was recite you, Jerry.
That's the probably biggest name I wanted on the next.
But But that's because his name holds weight, you know.
So you know when we are, Rose is doing? I respect that.
I just hope he's doing the right thing and he's doing this slow to steady way, and you're doing it by the draft and doing about getting these players and get developing getting more assets and everything like that.
That's what I'm really worried about.
Um, but if you keep doing this, man, if you keep doing it the right way with these people that we don't know but have the respect, I'm down for that again.
I don't care about that.
I just want the next to be great e state box sets, but, you know, But what I'm saying, you know, as soon as they always took the position, you had some people to sell.
He's not the guy for the position because he was an agent, this net.
And the other thing, I too thought that, you know, they should have hired somebody, had knowledge of running a basketball organization, you know? I'm saying, but, you know, he is a silent guy.
Seems like, and that broad collars kind of Ah, we heard about it weeks ago, but maybe a sneaky hiring.
Uh, Ernie Ernesto.
Oh, you know, said you know Rose was LeBron's ages.
So everybody knows.
But everybody the fans didn't really know who he was.
And the MBA everyone's gonna know who each other is.
But the fans didn't really know who Leon Rose was right after you heard Leon Rolls Leo.
He was the agent for that is he was the age for that.
He was the agent for that thing.
Like, Oh, wow, right.
But my side you, Jerry, everybody knows who he is, right? You know, names like that.
People know who those guys are.
Nobody outside the embassy circles.
I don't want to say nobody but most fans, Unless you really, really study these guys agents to stuff like that.
There are some fans that do that.
I didn't really know who Lee our roles Waas.
Um, so you won't see you know, we'll see what what he could do.
I like the higher I like the fact that he hired a guy like Mark was seen with the uncertain times with the salary cap right now.
And I was reading an article, and I think I'm gonna do a show on it on the possibilities of the way things could go with the cap.
The Knicks don't come back this season, or the embassy does not come back this season.
They could really take a hit on that salary cap.
Now, what I was reading is they may look to, you know, make that hit go over a couple of years, right? So each year, you know you don't you don't take the salary cap from $109 million down to $98 million right? Maybe you take it down a little bit lower this year than a little bit lower next year.
You know, the cat projected next year at 1 12 you say? Well, the cat's going to be 109 The year after that, the cat projection was gonna be 1 15 You know, you say it was gonna be 1 12 this year.
You know, that way it doesn't hit you.
It's hard, but nobody knows what it's gonna be like, what it's gonna be like.
Ah, And I think having a guy like Brock all are on the staff is gonna be a good thing, you know, saying I I think it's really gonna be a good thing for the Knicks.
My opinion, Frasier.
I'm coming to you, bro.
What do you think, man? You think you think that's a good thing? I think it's good.
What's up, man? I think it's a good thing you having a guy like Brzonkala who was a cat biologist.
Obviously, I don't think it's a good thing.
You don't think it's a good move.
I don't I don't think it's a good move, man.
No, because because it's the same dude that sign on Matthew DellaVedova to that long term contract.
It's the same dude that's on Tristin Thompson to albatross of a contract.
But you do Kevin love to the albatross of a contract.
All those dudes they signed, Cleveland was looking to move the contracts because it limited their flexible What we'll see.
But see, here's the thing.
I don't I'm just not a fan man, but see, I'm not such that I can't be won over.
But looking at the results as a poll showed, What the mike.
But see, I don't think that he was responsible for actually signing those players.
He made it work with the cat.
The GM was responsible for making those signings the GM said, This is the guy that we want to get.
Make it work on to the cat.
You see what I'm saying? Yeah, I guess.
And when I say it was instrumental in bringing in certain players No, I work with the cat.
You dare freezing, But But he was a part of the strategy team, though, right? I mean, I can't say how much.
So you don't want it started team his part of the strategy team, You know what I'm saying? But I just can't say how much like he made the decisions.
I know he did more than just running the cap with Cleveland, you know? But when you're part of a team, you know, sometimes it's like, Listen, here's the decision we made.
Your role is to make the numbers work.
Don't worry about, you know, don't give your opinion.
We just want you to make the numbers work.
It could have been something like that. I don't know.
You're freezing up on. It's freezing reason at Barnes.
I'm a common Ernesto do Ernesto thinks, and that's that was going on, man, I'm good.
Man is hard to hear you a little bit hard to hear you kind of far away from the mike about now. It's better.
Oh, what man The problem with the Knicks is for the last plus 20 years, they've always operated in service long crap on a wall, trying to figure out what sticks.
But that's how they operate in service.
They've never operated in a straight line, which is how you effectively reach of door in a straight line.
This is where I am now.
This is where I wanna be.
These are the steps that I need to take on how to get, you know, operated in certain, doing same crap over and over and over.
And you know what? Sometimes, sometimes it works.
Sometimes it works.
Like remember that 90 19 3? Well, l j I mean, they want they went.
They got into the playoffs and later wrong and got themselves in the fun.
We underachieved under the regular season.
They overachieved in the player.
Sometimes it works every once in a blue moon it works, but that's not the way to do it.
The way to do it is you gotta lay the foundation.
He developing all these young players people.
Quentin's have seven births round draft picks.
In the next four years, you're gonna get a lot of more young talent.
You gonna You gonna require a lot more young talent? You've got to keep developing, keep developing all these assets.
Then when you have a solid foundation, then you make the final move.
You get that queen, Get that.
Get that official we'll get you, get you get, you get, you get two extra.
Uh, well, you get two extra queens on the chess board in order to dominate.
That's how you do that.
So you probably do well this thing, of course.
What I don't want is trading for a guy like they were gonna trade for a star.
It needs to be us.
Ah Yung Yung star, for example.
Calm and determined.
This is a guy who's a star.
But he's a young star, a guy who hasn't even hated his crime.
Yet you haven't even begun to hit its front So you can acquire a guy this Runkle young star like that? Yes, but a guy like deal what? Which is I'm not saying he's old, but he's already over 25.
I don't want it has to be under 25.
That's under 25.
That that's a game changer.
You gotta look into that option. Absolutely.
Still keep building with.
But I like deal.
What you're gonna do is just gonna make us meeting over.
We're gonna probably get the 37 wins way do make.
The plan will be in a city that will be gone in the first round, and it's just and then we'll be stuck in that mediocrity.
I don't think they're looking to make a move for Bill.
Who knows what I mean? Who knows what they're going to be looking to do if if they're really you know, Listen, the article said that they they believe that they're in good position.
One member of the front office said that they believe is the best move to do.
We don't know who that member is.
Um I don't know, man.
See, it's a nose on this, um, news on Mitchell Roberts.
Yeah, well, about the apologies that behind? Yeah, Like I said before, the key is keep developing these young guys as many of these guys stick around.
But the Knicks are gonna own their bird bites.
You wouldn't believe the cap in those years when they turn when they're free agents.
I mean, they always go over the captain.
We sign their own guys.
But that's right.
But that's why you need a guy.
Can't biologist around to be able to, you know, to know the end, announcing making those kinds of moves.
I think that's I think I've never known the next Oh, have one, and I don't know, every team has won.
The thing is that it's the Knicks, and now we're talking about everything.
I mean, I'm pretty sure people have somebody e I don't know.
I mean, because you don't hear when you look at the Knicks, if you can go on their front office, you can go and look at their front office and see the titles of everyone that's in the front office, right? Yeah, but yeah, but you might have a guy whose title is assistant.
Yeah, I get that. I get that.
I get that, But I'm talking about somebody who has the reputation of being a very good care apologised in the league.
And you know, I don't I don't I just don't remember the Knicks ever having a guy like that.
Ah, and I could be wrong.
I just don't remember the Knicks ever having a guy that had that reputation of being a good cop apologised in the league.
You know, that's out.
Teams like San Antonio State, relevant for so many years.
Golden State is able to, uh, find a way to to move things around so that they can get Kevin Durant and take advantage of some things that happened in the league.
I was the article I was reading that talking about the salary, the salary cap going forward due to the Corona virus was talking about the way that Golden State took advantage of some things dealing with the cat.
We need people like that, you know? So I think it's a very good higher, but let's move on.
Let's talk about Mitchell Robinson them again.
We're gonna get to R. J.
Barrett and directly after this show, ladies and gentlemen, I'm gonna be back on YouTube.
I'll be on SportsCastr, too.
But I'll be back on YouTube and we're gonna talk about R.
Berger and Mitchell Robinson.
How you build around those two guys and this is gonna be a open call in show we're gonna have a conversation about I'm not having a whole bunch of fancy graphics and all this kind of stuff, which is gonna have a good heart, knows conversation about how you build the best way to go about building around these two guys.
Or do you believe they're not the guys to build a wall? Cause I've seen people believe it or not said to move our J better? No, have a good conversation about that.
But I do want to talk about Major Robinson real quick, and then we'll give some updates.
Barrett This agent Rich Paul laid out a vision for the New York Knicks with Mitchell Robson in the New York next.
Ladies and gentlemen, Okay, this is Mitchell.
Robinson's fifth agent was Ah, Rich.
Paul is his last agent, you know, there's a cool guy, and I thought he was having Mitchell Robinson do some good things.
And maybe Mitchell opposite just felt like in his team felt like I needed someone more high profile. I don't know.
Okay, but in February this February, that past Mitchell Robinson's signed with Rich Pole, this is the article you could find on The New York Post by Mark Berman.
Hey, is the super agents in the NBA today and a lot of super agents.
He's one of the super agents in the n B A.
Right. He manages LeBron James.
Or he's the agent for LeBron James for Anthony Davis.
Okay, um, Paul became Robinson's fifth agent, one of the perplexing sidelights of Robinson's fledgling career.
Fifth aging in only two years of playing professional basketball is crazy.
So far, so good as Robinson's game took off in the final weeks leading into the March 11th Shut down.
When you get the right representation and this is which Paul talking, when you get the right representation, there's an ease that comes to your mind that allows you to focus on other things.
It's hard to sleep with both eyes closed.
In this business, it's a lot more mental than people think, helping with his mental approaches.
One of Paul's Ames with Robinson, who decommitted from Western Kentucky to train for the 2018 and be a draft.
And you know, you remember the whole story with Mitchell Robinson coming into the N B A.
So since then he's had five different agents.
Now you start to wonder.
You know what's going on here now? What's going on with the decision making with Mitchell Robinson and his career? You know, it just it makes me wonder.
With his mysterious collars withdrawal, Robertson fell to the second round and the Knicks.
The Knicks got a great fortune, all right, Paul, which Paul said that Robinson over it is a shot blocking rebounding machine, which is true.
I don't know about a rebounding machine, but a shot blocking machine, all right, he said.
But this Maur to becoming a winning player.
The regular season is cancelled.
Robinson, despite lacking a jumper, will say a new MBA record or field goal percentage at 74.2%.
And I'll tell you what.
If you start shooting a jumper that's gonna drop, okay? His growth comes with understanding how to play the game at this level, Paul said.
That's what's misunderstood with young players at this level.
Talent will only get you so far.
You have to understand schemes defensively.
Very detailed things like the art of setting screens, are in decision making as a big man in how you're old, what passes to look for proper defensive assignments, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera, right? It's a lot of things to learn.
Once he's able to learn those things, he'll be in the position to showcase other talents.
You could take the outside shot.
He could put the ball on the floor.
You could post all right. You don't want to rush that.
You have to understand the details of the game first and listen.
It is very clear that Mitchell Robinson, you know, has to grasp some of those details at which Paul said he takes a deeper look.
Ah, at a person, especially someone like Mitchell.
Robson says he feels like he can help him.
Uh, he said, a lot of times, young players, they just don't know it.
As an agent, I don't like the world, You said.
I don't like the word, but you get the perception that it's all about money.
It's not all about money.
You have a unique opportunity to help someone build great habits on and off the basketball floor.
A lot of times in situations they can't control the economic environment they grew up in, etcetera, etcetera.
Okay, Um, which Ball says the Knicks have done a great job and getting him the things his knee he's he's needed during his time off in there.
You know, looking at video, you know, the accident next to get video so he can study video in those type of things.
And hopefully, which Paul's gonna break some of those things down.
I know, coach Mike Miller said.
He's in contact with all the guys, and he's getting all the guys video so that they could break now things during this time off Robinson's 1st 1 of its first Ages Raymond Brothers, Negotiator.
5 million contract, which instantly became seem friendly.
The third and fourth years.
Our team options, though it's possible the next can rework the terms after the 2020 21 season, so we'll see what Leon Rose has in store with that.
Listen, Paul, which partly our roles, they've known each other for a while, Um, and this is what which Paul had to say about Leon Rose, he said.
He'll shoot me straight when it comes to Mr Robinson and I shoot him straight.
The Knicks know what's best for him.
They see him as a future guy.
Leon knows the game and he'll handle that properly, so we'll see where that goes.
It does concern me a little bit that, you know, there's been so much upheaval in his young career, you know, I'm saying, um, you know, from college to the N.
There's just been a lot of upheaval with Mr Robinson.
I don't want, you know, Okay, we'll talk about it on the next show, but the decision making behind his career.
You know who's involved and maybe Rich Paul can get all of these other people out and say, Hey, let me in.
Mitch and maybe his mom make the decisions.
And all these other people, you know, sit down somewhere that could be the case.
And maybe because it listen, this last agent was a cool, too.
I know it's cool, guy.
Maybe Mitchell Robinson felt like he needed someone that could relate to his family a little bit better in this former agent could so that he could say, Hey, you sit now.
We don't need your voice.
We don't need your voice.
This is me Mitt in his mom because obviously there's been a lot of stuff going home with Mitchell Robinson since he's left high school.
We're gonna continue that conversation.
Ladies and gentlemen, some melts.
Came out about Leon rolls in, Kevin knocks And, you know, maybe the roles will be looking to move on from Kevin Knocks.
You wanted to have the chance that don't end of this season.
See, Kevin knocks and really get a chance to evaluate him.
But obviously, he's not gonna get that chance.
It's not gonna get that chance.
So, you know, there's some debate on, you know, maybe Leah Roses.
Kevin knocks From what I read, Kevin Knox is family or his team would.
They were kind of upset that Leon Rose did until Mike Miller to s****om.
They thought that Leon Rolls was going to say that kept Mike Miller.
You start Kevin, not because I want to see him.
No, he told Mike Miller, You put the people out there that you think I'm gonna help you win the game.
That did not include Kevin Knox.
At least not a lot of minutes.
So you know that's we'll see where that goes.
You know me a lot of questions about Kevin Knocks.
Already a lot of questions about Kevin knocks already, and it hasn't been good.
No, you We talked about moving up in the draft and the Knicks having a possibility to do ah lot of things in the drive.
Well, Kevin Knox's name could be brought up on a lot on a bunch of occasions.
Believe that before I get out of here and these guys gonna be the chat man, I want you to join us over there on YouTube.
We're gonna talk for by the hour and take a bunch of phone calls.
Well, I just wanna update you on R.
Barrett that he's that he's dead.
He's the crowd Jul Right now for the New York Knicks crowd last week.
This is an article for The New York Post.
Its kind of talks about are there bears bizarre Corona virus world, and it evolves.
Next, rookie R J.
Barrett went to pick up a package for his grandmother.
He didn't even get out the car, but someone recognizing from a phone and blew his mind.
Still a young kid.
He doesn't understand that he's a star man, you know, right now.
R J. Berries in.
He's in Orlando, Florida You know, chilling with this family.
That's what's family lives.
It's not where his family's from, but that's what's family lives in Orlando.
No telling what is French Bulldogs, says Kobe in Kingston and hanging out with his little brother.
It's a bizarre new world for the six foot seven shooting guard.
You know, he only knows the pace of playing basketball in the n b.
A oo in college or a you know.
Now he's kind of, you know, sitting down and chilling.
You know what I'm saying? Sitting down and relaxing and chilling.
But listen, his team, you know, that's what I wanted to get to R.
They reached out to Governor Cuomo to see where it could plug the most gaping holes right.
The answer is always the same.
New York hospitals was so desperate for personal protective equipment eso his team embarked on an odyssey to source face mask, disposable face, shields and Caden and 95 mass gowns and micro pores.
Disposable cover alls from distributors all around the world.
