Thank you for joining.
My name is Angela Men.
And today I'm going to be talking to you.
Whoever you may be about a couple of different questions that I would like to speak on.
So this is my home version of around the horn.
I am the only one speaking, so we're just gonna go to me every time.
Okay? Question number one.
Should fans be able to say a courtside or are they too much of a distraction to the game now for this one? I definitely think that fans bring another aspect to the game.
And then being courtside definitely makes the game more exciting.
Um, I don't know that they're too much of a distraction personally, but I do think that the fans being courtside, it just makes the game more fun.
And I don't think that the game will be the same without fans being courtside.
So I do like the fact that fans were able to sit courtside.
The only thing I do think could be an issue at times is when the video or photographers, or rather, things like that make it don't hurt.
But even that, like they know what they signed up for when they sign up for that job.
So that's a lot of eggs eels.
Any question Number two, should there be a maximum or minimum contract? So I definitely think that depending on the player, there's definitely be some type of standard or God mine more uniform, that rookies could be guaranteed a certain amount of money like I know the signed contracts my contract guarantees in.
But I think that looking should definitely get minimum contract, and I should not be disrupted.
Should not be argued with.
And the rookies, they're good like they deserve their money.
Thio Um, I think maximum contracts are difficult because, I mean, sometimes the franchise organization just doesn't want to pay that amount of money.
Um, and knowing that that player comes at that cost like that's not kind of Hartford.
So that's that Number three.
Our tournament brackets composed fairly.
Um, I think that's hard, too, because depending on where your school falls in a certain region, it is said that, um, there's some teams who have a lighter schedule given the Pac 12 Mountain West, the Big 10 like they're all in different places.
So when the bracket gives when it comes time to compose the bracket, I can definitely see how the Kansas Duke North Carolina's, um, the Kentucky's like those teams.
They seem to have worked to get to their spots all year, where some of the other smaller school teams they had a lighter schedule.
So maybe they could do a little bit better with switching up, Um, the games that take out towards regular season so that you see some of these same competitors you're going to see in the tournament but may not quite be in your division during regular season.
Um, my next question.
She colleges be allowed to cut injured players from the team roster, jeopardizing scholarships? Absolutely not.
That should not be allowed.
Now there's there's no life.
Um, I feel that waiting coaches or the organization and the team, whoever is when they cut athletes who got injured, they don't care about the athlete.
They care about the money, which I understand that it's a business of the day.
But that athlete is a student first, and their education should always be the most important, regardless of their injured or not just being an athlete myself, and I couldn't even imagine.
I told my advice.
I see your bicycle.
It happens like things happen.
And I just don't think that I don't think it serves the athlete to have this, like like clouding your head.
Kind of like I can't get hurt My Scotch maybe jump back in again.
Hurricane afforded her like obviously, no team wants their players to be her.
But to cut the athlete because they got her That's not fair, especially when their scholarship is in jeopardy because it's a very well, true, very well possible that the athlete is at that individual school because of the scholarship.
I mean that I have not been going to school at all, which again, but goes back to student athletes.
They were student before they were your mathlete, and that's just not fair to me.
Um, next question.
How will call seniors game back eligibility due to cope in 19.
So for this one, I think that just because we're independent, it currently it's definitely hard to say how this is gonna play out.
No one really knows, Um, but I do think that seniors who are in spring sports so tennis players, baseball player, softball players.
Um, who else is spring? That's all I can think of right now.
All spring football, Just about to start.
Um, they should definitely be able to get a read short season, I think, because they didn't get to start their season good.
So I think they should get this year of eligibility back and specifically for seniors.
They should be able to have a redshirt season.
And that's just it vexes.
All that is, um, because I know that if I were playing cop in college, I would definitely be upset with having to leave my school or university on.
The pretense is that they had to leave.
Therefore, um, I just I think they should.
They deserve to end the season correctly, just like everybody else did.
And, um, it this knowing medicine, this virus coming, and if you did more power to you.
But that doesn't get my season back. If I were that Lee.
So I would definitely fight for or talk to, um, coaches like a ticket to the higher ups about getting seniors a redshirt season that they'd be able to play next year to finish the sport that they love correctly.
Um, my next question is, should overseas athletes be allowed to play in the N. C A.
A tournament? So for this one, what I mean by this is that, um if you were a student athlete, you are not allowed to make any type of compensation become of money from any other outlet other than for your school.
So, um, and the rules are so outdated, and they're so unfair.
Um, there's There's a large majority of athletes who have to provide for themselves, and I think that is quite it's It's quite ridiculous that athletes cannot make compensation, but you can make money off of me for playing for this school.
I don't think that there should be anything wrong with the athletes who decided to go make real money, since they can't make money and they're at school.
Um, coming back for, like a little surprise edition are if the coach is just stuff that to work something out with the coaches.
So, um, if I am a college sop****re, let's stick and I decide so on a roll from college completely go play overseas.
I think that during the time that I would have been in school, I should be able to come back to my home school, that I played for only that school and play in the tournament if my coach and I allow and he or she agrees, so I don't think that any other old player from out of Caesar oversee Shield to come back to any old team.
But I do think that for the athletes who decided to go overseas and pursue their professional careers, they didn't get a chance to partake in the tournament.
And if it was due to financial reasons, they would have a valid reason.
Um, if they really needed to make their own money and they decided to make their own money overseas, they should have a limited to come back and play for the school that I went.
Maybe that sounded better in my head, But I think that during the time here that they would have been at the university.
They should be able to come back and play four their school, maybe, maybe you okay? Next question.
Um, how will future endor*****ts effect athletes moving forward? So don't quote me on this, but I did see Reid.
I'm not sure where it was, so have to act.
The comments, in fact, check later.
But I didn't read that.
I believe it's 2021 again.
Please don't hold me, because I could be saying completely wrong that athletes will be able to make money from endor*****ts while still in school.
So let's bring back to my other point the ridiculousness that athletes cannot be making compensation from anywhere other than for their university.
So I do think these endor*****ts should have nothing to do with the school.
The school should have no say so many, and it's just like a scholarship.
But for the individual themselves, I don't think anything wrong with that personally, Um, Girl scouts say they get sponsored all the time and they have a sponsoring pays their dues or whatever they had to pay for that time.
And I think that college athlete should definitely able to get endor*****ts.
And I definitely think that when this new world gets implemented that we will see how ridiculous it is that athletes cannot make their own money.
Aside from, if there are a athlete at university, that's crazy.
Um, let's see really up.
Should athletes rescued be more straight at the professional level? I think that if there were any more regulations or stipulations, it would.
It would be hard to convince the athletes of such because a lot of them have shoe contracts with 90 Jordan, Adidas under armour so and so forth.
So that would definitely effect, um, they're stream of income in that way.
That would be negative towards me in their lifestyle, obviously, because they're used to wearing their shoes, promoting their shoes when they're on the court.
Um, having ideal of deafness.
But I do think on the other hand, sometimes the jewelry that athletes wear during games.
It's, I think, some professional personally, and this is just my opinion.
But I think it's a little unprofessional.
Um, because Little League all went to high school.
You can't wear any jewelry in a game.
This is a game, Um, and I think this is more so. Football and basketball.
But they're allowed.
Our players are allowed, so we're jewelry and their lives were whatever.
Whatever socks, shoes kind of like under protection.
They want, um, and I think that it could become too much at some point for now, Uh, paralyse its okay, But I think jewelry should definitely be a little more tight because I do like the fact that athletes sometimes they have uhm pink out games and they support breast cancers of the liver.
Pink socks, pink shoes, pink under armour, whatever.
Especially in the month of October.
I definitely think that that's, um I look forward to the October just disperse of the uniform a little bit when I was a Nath leet.
So that's how I feel about that.
What would professional games without fans look like? Who? Let me just say guys, at this point, if we're on lock down for another 30 days, however much longer it's gonna be, I think that that the g m's, the owners, they should definitely consider games without fans.
And I know the only comment that I can recall right now is LeBron's and how he said that there's no fans.
I'm not playing, which I completely respect his opinion.
However, I didn't realize how much I'd miss sports until there were no sports, so I do think that games without fans would not.
It would just feel like a scrimmage like I just feel like a scrimmage.
And as long as it was broadcasted, I think that it would be, it wouldn't be as entertaining for the athletes percent.
But to the fans who are stuck at home, I'm willing to watch it.
I would because of this point we're watching.
Um, what is it? Okay, Yes, Sorry, it was possible accident.
So at this point, if we're watching two K tournaments through ESPN and SportsCenter and networks like that, I would definitely consider games without fans.
At least then we get to see really live entertainment.
And we're not watching the players playing video game or then asked her driver's play simulation.
No disrespect to the players making their money that way.
The NASCAR drivers in the simulation because at this point, we're all bored at home and whatever type of sports we could get.
I've been mourning willinto watch, but I do think that cames without fans would be it would still be fine.
The game must will be interactive.
The rest would still be there, and maybe close family members should be allowed, or depending on how our country opens back up.
I think games without Sands would definitely be interesting to watch.
Be more interesting than watching us play them.
Watching professional happens play video games, in my opinion, So that is my at home around the horn.
Um, I definitely appreciate all the viewers for watching layouts up to 15 at one time.
That's crazy because I don't expect anyone to washes it all.
And I'm sorry if you got misled by the title saying around the horn, because it's just me.
But this is a school project that we would be doing around Lord in class.
So thank you for watching, and I will be back with more a SportsCastr broadcast soon Bye.
