Welcome back, friends.
Do we got Nets? Live on SportsCastr as we continue to highlight the battle is the horse challenge on ESPN has moved right along here We're down Thio, our final quarterfinal competition between Chris Paul and Allie Quigley.
So you have the horse competition going on there.
You have the couch competition going on here.
We had ah dessert battle earlier, where lemon bars triumphed over actually a three way competition between raspberry dipping sauce and then also ah, flourless chocolate cake.
And then, in our second very interesting matchup, although I think it came out the way most people would have suspected, it was in fact, the gin and ginger beer coming out over top of cider on ice with a twist of lemon.
Unfortunately for cider just could not keep its cool over the length of the competition.
And it was a resounding couch to just see 04 gin and ginger beer.
So we're having a bit of our own competition here.
I don't know which is more riveting, which is more exciting and certainly which is more impactful.
Just from a sports standpoint, I tend to think it's probably the horse competition, but I don't know for sure.
We're going to take a minute Here is behind with the 10 time, eh? NBA All Star and 77 time.
Ah, I don't know.
That's that was all right.
But I'm just the last time they called about Chris Paul there.
10 time All Star, though.
How about that for him and then on the other side, it's going to the alley quickly.
So this represents our second female competitors.
Unfortunately, Tameka Catchings came up short in her competition against my Connolly.
So now we'll dive into it again, highlighting outdoor courts going on here.
For the most part, I think Mike Conley made a smart move, staying with his indoor facility, allowing him to control the elements a little bit and give him an opportunity to dictate the tempo towards Tunica Catchings.
In that competition, Tunica had, ah, the safety of a house on the far side, away from the basket.
But unfortunately, I think creative and Allie for herself.
So we will, of course, dive in on this competition as it comes up.
And then we're gonna try to find ourselves another competition here on the couch, setting to see if we can continue to flush out.
Some of this is just riveting content on a Sunday evening.
No sports, no problem.
That's what I'm here for.
We take a brief step away before we dive in on the horse competition.
Then what is it going to be that starts the battle here on the couch back in just a second? Is everything more riveting than seeing a commentator just dive towards the screen aggressively? That's because, as a ah, looks like a left elbow shock and be coming up here for Allie Quigley.
I'm telling you, Allie Quigley is my dark horse candidate here.
I think a lot of people are gonna We're just gonna see Chris Paul's name flash across the screen and assume that it's lock stock.
I do not think so.
Friends Chris Paul does connect, so this competition will be a tight when I think this could be possibly one of the more exciting match ups now on the couch competition.
As I said, we had a little dessert battle.
Lemon bars came out on top.
There, the difference between cider on ice versus gin and ginger beer course.
Gin and ginger beer comes out on top there.
Now we move into a another food related battle here, and this is gonna be a hard one.
This is where again you want to talk about a dark horse candidate.
We are asking the question.
Is it going to be chips and salsa, or will it be a crisp pickle? This is not This is a competition that you don't typically find across most platforms.
Certainly not on a platform that is specifically supposed to be highlighting sports, as opposed to food products that we find in the fridge.
This bracket is what we're affectionately calling the random things we found in the refrigerator.
So we're gonna start to dive in on this.
One is Allie quickly continues to show a little bit of prowess. They're on the outside.
Looks like Chris Paul get the chance to take advantage of this.
Competition is underneath the basket right now.
The up and over from behind cannot accomplish it, however, So bit of a swinging and miss there for Chris Paul and kind of set a high bar over here.
This unlike the last time, we're not gonna highlight the brand of cider or the brand of gin that we were using their because we don't get sponsorship by this particular products on this particular occasion, I feel like it's worth noting that we're working with the complimentary elements off as a right side behind the backboard.
Shot goes down for Allie quickly, so she's looking pretty sharp here right now.
Chris Paul, Look to mimic that one.
We'll be featuring Tostitos chips along with Tostitos Salsa, and in this particular instance, we're going with chunky salsa mild and then they'll be squaring off against a Clausen classic Kosher dill hole pickle.
We're going to dive right in here as it looks like.
Chris Paul was, in fact, able to connect on that.
Yes, see, So this is what I talked about blow for blow here in terms of the competition that we're seeing in the horse.
Ah, competition again, raising money for those in need during these difficult times, As I just get a little get my pickle set up here.
We're going to start with the Tostitos and salsa because this is gonna be difficult in terms of cleansing the palette in between each Well, let's just go.
The traditional look, by the way, when you talk about finding random things in your fridge, it's also worth noting that supplies are starting to run a little bit light here.
So not only working with to see those chips were also working with possibly the bottom of the bag of tuxedo strips.
Two seaters with salsa as Chris Paul, Mrs Fromthe Wing.
Obviously fantastic crunch on the chip.
So you love that saltiness in the chip as well.
Clint nicely with the salsa.
A little bit of ****e we're only working with mild.
Arguably, it could be a stiffer competition if we were talking about potentially a ****y right or a hot salsa that would bring in a different element instead.
Right now, what I'm liking is a little bit of the little bit of the crunch, an assault from the chip.
And then there's a balancing element there, obviously with the salsa.
So maybe this is a problem for the pickle, because pickles coming in here with just one option, just it's just standing by himself.
No complimentary piece sitting down Allie Quigley knocks down the shot from, and by the way, banks shot.
She's playing. Ah, on her backyard.
They're nice setup, but she's working on some papers.
So definitely not the traditional traditional Courtney maybe working with.
Whereas Chris Paul again outdoor but has a nice set of their asphalt with his home basket.
Bank shot is off the mark.
So for Oh, sorry second letter there, Chris Paul, now picking up his second letter in the competition, We now switch over to the pickle side of things. Let's see what we got here.
Fantastic, Chris Bite.
Not unlike the chip.
Get a good bit assault in there.
And while it doesn't have the complimentary salsa, the pickle does give you obviously just some of that juice from the container.
So what's satisfying You may be on both sides.
Here are the only curiosity is going to be with that salt to high right to hide a content, and it is also nice and cold.
Very cold, crisp, so little bit of a refreshing element there as well.
Alley and Chris continue to go at it here, having a little bit of a back and forth conversation.
So now we'll see where alley quickly goes in the first round between chips and salsa and the kosher dill.
We're gonna go dead even each picking up a letter as we move ourselves through, See a piece in the couch competition.
And now let's take a look at what Alley quickly has up next, ranging back what feels like about a three PLO three pointer, though off the side of the rim.
So now Chris Paul will take control of the board.
Ah, time and time again.
Here, as we say, this is all about raising funds for a relief for those in need during the Cove in 19 Pandemic, Chris Paul is the basic looks like just beyond the free throw line.
There may be a mid range shot.
So maybe he's just testing the waters and also knows down two letters.
You got to respect the fact that quickly has already gotten out to believe she rattles it off the mark.
This gets back into a bit more of a competition, and we go ahead after a bit of the palate, cleanse and dive in on round two here, looks like a step away and take a little of a break which will give us a great opportunity to really dive in on our trip and salsa versus pickled out.
Yeah, again, sauces nation cool and refreshing, on top of which I'm also getting with some of those chunks in there.
Right difference could also be here if I had gone with a completely with a smooth salsa.
Very well blended.
Could have been an element there as well.
Instead, nice and mild Got some peppers, some chunks of those diced up tomatoes and ingredients in there.
Still a good crunch.
I think one of the failures this competition could be that the amount of solar time consuming on both sides very well wash out this thing all together because I don't know if I'm gonna taste anything after a couple more rounds of this.
But nevertheless, we stand here at C apiece.
We go ahead and highlight some of our friends that have joined in with us.
We see bashing Brian.
Thank you for joining in along with the kitty cat in heels.
That's an interesting I.
I guess I want to know if you is there a cat at your home that that can walk around in heels would be my big question.
Uh, be interested.
Find out that's a competition all into itself.
But thank you for joining in and everyone else who's taking a little bit of a deep dive with me here on a on a Sunday evening as we watch the horse competition on ESPN, we dove back in for a second look active, Toasty O's chips complemented by and Tostitos Salsa.
We now go back in on the clawson Kosher dill.
Yeah, well, I'm telling you, Nice and Chris still got that grace crunch.
Get double texture by the way, too.
A little bit of a harder exterior, little bit softer on the inside.
There still is great juiciness to it.
Ah, full disclosure.
I'm a massive pickle fan.
That's kind of that's It's one of my go to little grab a snack out of the fridge scenarios.
Other element we're talking about here is, well, part of your social situations.
If I weren't in isolation, I had some friends over.
I might be more inclined to say chips and salsa is the go to move.
Everybody can get in there, have a little snack, you very rarely at a party see a dish of pickles get put out.
Uh, although I'm not saying people would enjoy it.
I just don't know if it's the most functional.
Ah, party hors d'oeuvres, so to speak.
Well, you do sometimes at a wedding, see a nice little a little mini pickle with the skewer on it.
A little sweet, little sweet kosher dough can sometimes be an option.
So I guess there is a place in time for everything of a rate.
Now, this is a pretty tight battle.
I'm gonna go ahead and throw a little throw a letter on each of them here.
We're sitting in a CEO and CEO for both.
This is neck and neck here.
I'm not really sure what the tie breaker is going to be.
And just to recap here and probably give you a little bit of a sense.
We started out in the desert battle where lemon bars came out on top over flourless chocolate cake.
We saw gin and ginger come out over top of cider on ice.
And now, in some type of a weird meal that I concocted for myself terribly out of order.
We've got pickles against chips and salsa.
The one thing we know for sure is that this is not gonna feel great afterwards.
And if I had thought this through on the front end, I more than likely would not have put myself in a position to be consuming and drinking these kind of products.
Ah, basically, simultaneously.
Nevertheless, though we press on, we're going to go with a little bit more.
Ah, let's say a rapid fire.
I'm gonna enjoy some of these trips and salsa and get involved in it on.
Then we're gonna see over on that pickle side of thing.
What holds up? Well, plus, I'm quite frankly, we're hungry, man.
And those other competitions, the way that you know is a quality product is that I'm still enjoying my gin and ginger beer was also had that little twist of lemon in there as well.
Chris Paul now get handing off a year, but to his son.
So now his sons gonna get opportunity, maybe to do a little bit of communication here.
Risky move from Chris Paul, because chances are if he misses one of these shots, you're not necessarily going to get a favorable reaction from the child Typically, it is through the eyes of the child.
The truth comes out.
So, Chris Paul taking a bit of a risk here, But we'll see what he goes with right now trailing by a letter.
As I said, my dark horse candidate was Allie Quigley.
Sweat like to see her advance out of this round.
We already saw Zach Levine move on.
We saw my Connolly advance as well.
Ah, and I'm gonna forget the first compa Trey Young fellow to Chauncey Billups.
So right now you're talking about the veteran Chauncey Billups being the lone standing, a man that has been maybe a retiree, little removed from the game, still able to pull it out.
And quite frankly, as I said, Trey Young has some, uh, some explaining to do.
We're gonna go ahead and once again welcome in our instrument.
Instagram Excuse me, viewers as they Ah, Chris, Paul Jr has a little conversation here right now, so we briefly just real quick.
Welcome in our instagram live viewers.
If you're joining us from home, hopefully surviving isolation with a little bit of humor as we continue to work our way, both the horse competition raising funds for relief of those in need during the Cove in 19 Pandemic and also having a little bit of couch competition right now between kosher dill pickles and chips and salsa.
It's also goes against one of the things you want to try to avoid, which is, of course, don't eat food while you're broadcasting.
It's a bad look, and you're also risking possible choking on something Not that almost happened to me here.
Chris Paul sets up that shot there not to throw balls himself, but see what Alley quickly is gonna go with here.
Plays for the Chicago Sky as we know 2018 All Star named three point champion with an all time record 29 points.
You want to tie this back in? If you're Brooklyn Nets fan, that's a Joe Harris esque kind of performance.
Joe Here's a course last year, winning that competition exiting in the first round of the All Star competition This season, However, Johnny four.
Thanks for joining in on yet another broadcast.
Good to see you back in with us here, rising up from the outside there.
That's just a smooth shot from Allie Quigley.
Chris, Paul, listen, this is about consistency, right? Well, you're asking what you're asking here right now is left handed Floater off the glass.
Smooth shot from Allie Quigley.
Chris Paul around the horn and out.
He picks up the r a.
Told you guys once.
I'll tell you 100 times this was about Allie Quigley and taking down a prohibitive favorite in this competition.
Now with a two letter advantage and control of the shot selection right now.
So let's see what she goes with here as she has, I believe both a sister, possibly and her dog looking on bank shot from the perimeter, smooth shooting.
I would suspect that that alley quickly maybe spending her isolation time at home with her family has that kind of look.
And there it is. Friends.
The fourth letter on the board for Chris Paul just ah, basic mid range jumper that he could not connect on.
Not unlike Trey Young.
Losing out the Chauncey Billups is in the same thing because you're talking about another professional level active athlete in alley quickly.
So it won't be the same type of razzing that's deserved as a tray Young did.
But here the running bank shot goes in.
Let's get the official one footed.
So looks like we're talking off the left foot runner Bang, shot.
And in I'm back in for more salsa.
Here could be the end of this one.
So right now we sit at Seo Yoo, a piece on both the pickle and the chips and salsa side of the bracket here.
So this is a tight battle right now.
Right wing bank off left foot.
Good for Chris, Paul.
You'd expect it, right? This isn't a guy that's gonna that's gonna go ahead and bail on competition.
Okay, So now I will say both of these snacks are interfering with one another.
The saltiness of the pickle is now kind of bringing out a little more tang in the salsa from the chip.
Now, if I was at a party in both of these were being served.
I might be that guy that was accurately switching between two snacks.
So people may be looking at me a little bit awkwardly and wondering why I've gone back in for a possible double deck.
But we gotta get to the bottom of this thing.
It's just as important, if not again.
slightly more important than what we've seen from this horse competition here.
I tell you, I've had a couple of beverages here to cleanse the palate, but that salsa is getting a little bit salty.
Combined with the saltiness of the chip, it's taking itself in a bad direction here.
Let's make it official friends.
See Oh, you see now for chips and salsa, C o U for the kosher dill pickle getting itself out to a somewhat of Ah, it's a bit of a lead here now, only one letter, Lee.
But now you're talking about needing to go bite for bite from surviving these shots.
Not unlike where Chris Paul sits right now, having just one letter left to go.
Ah, he trails four letters to one.
Ah, Allie Quigley rattling out there look like on that shot.
So now Chris Paul Country control the board and trying to get himself back in on this action.
For sake of argument, we're going to see the chips versus pickle.
That competition is gonna wrap up a little bit early because there's only so far down that road that I can go.
Let's see here now Chris Paul facing away from the basket.
He's so holding your left foot, facing away, holding your left foot.
You start facing away from the basket, pull it that leg, and then it's a turn and fire.
If you can connect on this one, he's got a real chance here to throw a letter up on the board for Allie and maybe get himself back in this competition.
Oh, very smooth shot.
There are very nice shot.
So little bit of desperation here from Chris.
Paul has to pull out all the stops and he's put himself in a spot and maybe get back to a four to deficit alley.
Setting up this.
And this is also this is an uncomfortable look, Right? Chris? Paul doesn't look terribly comfortable.
What CIA Valley has what it takes.
I don't know if she's gonna get around.
Oh, barely grazing the front of the rim.
So H o R s for Chris Paul now.
H o for Allie Quigley.
As he tries to claw his way back into this competition, we go back in for one more sample here.
Chickens also first.
Oh, looks like Chris Paul went over the backboard.
Is that correct here? Let's see.
Indeed, it was so over the backboard opportunity.
No, Allie Quigley knocks it down.
Very cool, calm and collected on that one for Allie.
Quick wit and Chris Paul was, you know there's only an opportunity came within one letter here.
Instead, he goes back to the drawing board.
It looks like a rim touch requirement cannot touch the rim.
That's what we're talking about here.
However she does so now H o r s to each o.
R Chris Paul Still trailing by 11 Final taste of the pickle.
Yeah, Good Lord, in terms of the brackets that we've run through now, the desert bracket Very tasty, Enjoyable on all fronts for the most part, the beverage bracket.
A lot of fun here.
We're going to see Chris Paul lining up his next shot.
That was really enjoyable, though.
Random things I found in the fridge.
This has not been a fantastic bracket.
I regret a little bit taking the advice of my girlfriend in terms of where this competition needed to go.
That being said, as alley quickly sets up over the backboard from the right side from behind the basket.
That one is good and through.
She loses it in the ivy for a minute afterwards, but does collect it back up.
So she's in good shape.
Pressure now turns over to Chris Paul Oh, cleaning through so both these both the shooters seem comfortable from beyond the rim.
Let's go ahead and tie a bow on the competition here on the couch chips and salsa falls.
Unfortunately, over the length of the competition, it's not just about the short term.
You got to be able to stretch this out for the full competition.
It got a little bit too sweet and salty on the back end.
Combination of salsa with the Tostitos chip just did not quite have what it took there on the pickle side of things.
Very consistent crunch saltiness that the juice, the pickle juice from the jar on there is, well, very consistent bike to bite and not unlike horse competitions.
It is about consistency round after round, as Chris Paul fires one from the right wing and does in fact connect, so this competition continues to battle as ah is cool.
Allie Quigley and Chris Paul are really a nice a nice back and forth one here.
Ah, Allie Quigley had a two letter leader one point, but it's basically them within one here for a while now.
Next shot up is going to selected by Alley quickly.
Now, you can see here to struggling to figure out what the next shot is going to be because this has been a tight competition.
Doesn't go so quickly, is gonna give up the control of the shot here and now, Chris Paul again.
You saw him go with that one legged turn.
They get gotten, actually didn't get him anything, though, because, uh oh, no, that's right.
Quickly missed that one off the front rim.
So he was able to get himself back within one letter with that.
Let's see what he goes with here.
One hand, one hand, right leg on Lee free.
Throw clean and threw for Chris Paul.
Let's see if Allie Quigley now it's also a test of endurance.
Can you withstand the repetitive attack of a man trailing from behind? She goes on one leg, one hand and that one's good.
Beautiful shot, by the way.
Very smooth stroke from Allie Quigley So if Chris Paul wants to get this thing back, not it up, he's going to do a little bit more than a one handed shot.
He's back at the basically free throw line area here, an underhand scoop he's going for.
Oh, didn't get it to go.
I was watching as well.
Allie Quigley questioning that.
That one got in a little underhand scoop from the foul line.
Just short for for Chris Paul.
So Allie quickly gets back control of the board, and, Ah, and we just go ahead and let you know that it is a course pickle taking that, taking the crown here in this competition.
Little bank shot for Allie Quigley, setting the table for Chris Paul.
Let's see if he's got what it takes.
Interestingly enough, if you think about in terms of the putting together a whole meal now we're talking about and we'll give you that right.
Let's do one more.
Let's do one more little mini competition as Chris Paul Mrs so that one wraps up full horse for Chris Paul.
As I suspected, Allie Quigley coming through there with the big shot, the big victory, my dark horse candidate to take this entire competition down and she's so far will be advancing beyond the quarter final round.
So we'll take a little brief, little brief check in here and see if they're picking up nine o'clock.
It looks like they will be okay, So that's gonna be replaying this competition again.
So just just so you're aware now that we figured out a bit of a rhythm on this, this is going to be a side by side competition between horse and couch.
I will be finding out some new things to test out here and see who's gonna win out between not just on the on the hardwood or on the pavement or on the papers, depending on where some of these athletes are coming together from also about on the cushion as well.
We bid a fond farewell to our face.
Excuse me to thank you for checking in with us and keep enjoying it as well.
We say thank you very much and we come right back into SportsCastr as we love to do, and we'll let you know.
Now the big battle is that we will close on out here before we get out the door and hopefully you have Ah, at the very least and laughing at my expense over the course of this.
Now, the big battle is between gin and ginger beer, pickle and lemon cake.
This is a disaster across the board, but it doesn't matter.
A quick bite of lemon cake.
Now, by the way, in that initial battle, everyone in that category was receiving the assist of the raspberry dipping sauce s o.
I will allow for it here.
Dipping sauce still moist, still sweet, Still delicious.
We moved next to the gin and ginger beer.
Cut with a little bit of lemon juice as well.
Now that ginger beer started overpower a little bit.
I've also lost the value of a nice cool beverages the ice cubes of old but left my glass.
And last but not least, it is the kosher dill pickle.
Strong kosher dill.
Still doing a good job, obviously the most recent competitors.
But I gotta be honest with you.
At the end of the day, it is going to be a lemon wedge taking ah first prize here.
Pickle coming up very close second and then unfortunately, and maybe even shockingly so.
It is the gin and ginger beer with a twist of lemon bringing up the rear in terms of the hierarchy.
This has been an absolute pleasure.
I hope you guys have enjoyed it reminding you that the horse competition was, of course, about raising relief money for those in need during the cove it 19 pandemic and the couch competition was about testing the mettle of my palate and also possibly my stomach.
Depending on how it all turns out at the end of the day, head over to social media.
Instagram is goingto have a very weird post about the rankings of these competitions.
So feel free to spread the word about it and let everybody know that I am gonna be coming right back in as this horse competition continues to to break down those challenges and also see what else comes my way here from the couch.
And if you are of following us on instagram Facebook Twitter, please send your suggestions.
I don't I don't want any gross out things, But if you have a ****tail you'd like me to mix into the competition, maybe a food selection if I have it on hand, if I can get it on hand, I will certainly bring that to the couch and see who reigns supreme on behalf of not only the we got Nets podcast but of course, SportsCastr.
Thank you so much for checking in with us.
I hope everyone is staying safe at home.
We will be checking back in with you very soon.
And I have always always been Adam are wrecked.
Many Thanks. We'll see you soon.
