I'm Matt Williamson with yard Barker, and I want to discuss three defensive draft prospects that really have me excited and have gotten my attention of late.
They have some similarities.
And let's start with Zach Bond, the linebacker edge player from Wisconsin.
He really projects well to how the Patriots have employed Kyle Vanoy, Rob Ninkovich amongst others over the years.
On and off the ball, he can rush the passer 12.
Last year, you play uptight on the line of scrimmage, often over a tight end.
He did more than hold his own and coverage in the short zones, but also shows a very good burst and bend coming after the quarterback and Bonds.
A relentless bond is a really good football player, but its size of concern if he's asked a plea exclusively on the edge and tangle with offensive tackles all day.
But fortunately he does so much well that you could do an awful lot with Zach Bond from Wisconsin.
Another really intriguing guys.
A meek Robinson from Louisiana Tech.
He's very small and certainly projects to a slot corner role, but he might be the most fun cornerback tow watch on film in this entire class.
I mean, to say Robinson is nasty and feisty is a massive understatement.
He plays with an extreme edge to his game.
He's highly instinctual, has outstanding ball skills, 14 career interceptions and gets the hand gets his hands on the football regularly.
Really, no work out for him.
We know he's small, but it would have been nice to have some numbers to go off of.
But the film is outstanding.
And remember, a slot corner is really a starter in today's NFL.
A name you might remember Antoine Winfield Junior and they might sound familiar, and he plays the game a lot like his father.
He's my favorite and top safety in this draft, and he isn't the biggest.
Isn't the fastest, but as great football like you.
I mean, he can play.
Safety could play deep.
He can play up near the line of scrimmage and a strong safety role.
He can come down and play nickel against tight ends or slot corner slot receivers.
He plays the run with a lot of emotion and ***al vigor.
He's a really good tackler, A lot of similarities.
He's a corner is the hair.
He's a safety and his dad was a corner.
But Winfield the, uh, the apple didn't fall too far from the tree there.
