00:04:13
Thin.
00:04:14
The cornerback for the Indianapolis called two second round pick from last year was a rookie.
00:04:18
He had up and down season.
00:04:20
A lot of people look at the Pittsburgh game as being one of his worst games of the year, was flagged for pass interference multiple times.
00:04:30
But it was said over and over throughout the season that you know he didn't change his style.
00:04:35
And yet, the second half of the year after the Pittsburgh game, he was rated as the highest rated corner rookie cornerback in the NFL by Pff.
00:04:50
So it could have just been, you know, a little bit of referees being a little tight because rock is a hands on cornerback and there's no no denying that he's that guy who loves to have his hands on the wide receiver so that he could feel with direction.
00:05:06
He goes what he's doing, so he could really kind of stick to him like glue.
00:05:13
Um, as I said earlier, Alex, the U.

00:06:23
Thanks for joining the Stream.
00:06:25
I appreciate you being here.
00:06:26
All right, so without any further ado, let's break it down.
00:06:31
A little bit of rocky ascent, shall we? This kid has had an outstanding first season.
00:06:38
I think it's only the beginning.
00:06:40
Rookie usually does not break out in their first year, normally, if their 2nd 3rd year to kind of like wide receivers, you know, usually it's their third year where they really kind of shine, but I think the second year will be a big improvement over rocky sins abilities.
00:06:58
So this 1st 1 this 1st 1 is going to really show a little bit of something that Rock really needs to work on.
00:07:08
All right, he does great in pass coverage, especially press Man does absolutely awesome, impress men, and he's a really good tackler.
00:07:20
But there's something that, as a rookie, he could only get better through experience.
00:07:26
Right, so this is what I want to break down.
00:07:31
Now let's do something here.
00:07:33
Let's look, let's get rid of my face because no one wants to see me all big and personal right up here in the in the middle of the screen.
00:07:43
Can't watch the stream when you're doing that right, Rocky said.
00:07:47
Our crew last question.
00:07:48
Who's Rocky? Said Rocky Sin was the second round pick of the Indianapolis Colts last season.
00:07:53
The cornerback he was the number two quarterback behind Pierre to sear.
00:07:57
Peers here was released, and now Rocky Sin is really gonna be the first corner could be saved.
00:08:06
Your roads number one corner, but rock could be also it just depends upon who ends up winning that matchup.
00:08:13
Um, are they? This is gonna be an interesting fight for cornerback one for the Indianapolis Colts.
00:08:20
Oh, yeah, absolutely.
00:08:21
I'm a Colts fan, but I covered the entire NFL, and I do this objectively, right? I tried to keep my Phantom out of it so that I could give an honest breakdown of a player.
00:08:36
So let's break this down, shall we? All right, so this 1st 1 it's a screenplay.
00:08:45
Well, go ahead and hit play here.
00:08:49
It's a screenplay.
00:08:51
You see Rockets down here at the bottom of the screen, okay? And he's got kind of off, man, definitely waiting. Wait.
00:09:03
Now here's the problem.
00:09:06
If you watch the wide receiver, see ya.
00:09:12
Lethargic is what coming out.
00:09:15
He's going all slow, and there's only two re two reasons that that could happen.
00:09:21
One the play's designed whether to run or a pass or a screen or something to the opposite side of the field.
00:09:28
Wide receivers not trying to extend energy because you know he's gonna need that energy later on for deep routes and things of that nature.
00:09:39
But the 2nd 1 is a screenplay, and the way you recognize a screenplay issue.
00:09:45
Look for an offensive lineman away fromthe lying, you know, going downfield that hasn't engaged yet, but is looking for a block and Rockets centers right here, staring down the receiver.
00:10:00
He sees that he's being lethargic in his little maneuvers.
00:10:04
He should be looking up and see.
00:10:05
Hey there, There's a guard already out, you know, getting ready to make a block.
00:10:12
He should recognize this as a screen and immediately begin to try to get around this white because of wide receiver.
00:10:18
He's out here, but he's waiting on him to come up so we could block him out.
00:10:22
He should already be moving forward, looking for who the screen's gonna go to.
00:10:27
The only person that that screen could go to is him.
00:10:30
He needs to close on the wide receiver, not abandon him, obviously, because if he abandoned in the Drew Brees, go see that immediately and throw it to him close really quickly.
00:10:42
And as soon as the ball is in the air, go towards the goal towards running back.
00:10:46
But because he's not doing that, he's leaving this five yard gap between the receiver and himself that gives the receiver of the opportunity to block him out on this screen plate.
00:10:59
Now that's just often because I got to go back to it to 42 in the first.
00:11:11
There it is.
00:11:13
You'll see him block him out.
00:11:19
He comes up being well.
00:11:21
Thought he should have already been up there at this point.
00:11:25
This is This is where I was showing.
00:11:26
Now, if you watch now, you got two guards coming out and he thought he's now breaking.
00:11:32
It's too late. All right.
00:11:34
He said he's 20 yards away from the play, 20 yards away from the plate.
00:11:41
Had this happen, he'd already be behind the wide receiver cause he's already thrown the ball, the running backs catching it.
00:11:47
He could already be behind the wide receiver and been able to make a play on this, but because he recognized it too late.
00:11:56
He's being blocked out.
00:11:58
The running back now gets around.
00:11:59
The guards are coming up to make these blocks.
00:12:04
Your sin is blocked completely out, unable to make a play on the running back.
00:12:08
This is something he absolutely needs.
00:12:12
Toe work on coming up any diesel.
00:12:15
That's what Thanks will follow.
00:12:16
I appreciate that.
00:12:18
Thanks a lot, man.
00:12:19
Um, yeah.
00:12:21
He absolutely needs to work on recognizing the screen pass.
00:12:28
He's an excellent tackle.
00:12:30
which will get to here in just a moment when it comes in to run support when he notices that the run has already happened.
00:12:36
But screenplays and such is just something that you have to recognize over time.
00:12:42
It takes experience, snaps, seeing these plays played on you multiple times over and over to keep your eye there, to be able to come up and make that play.
00:12:52
I'm sure it will happen at some point, but on this specific play, it didn't work out the way he needed you.
00:13:00
Let's go to the next play.
00:13:06
Which one of these days? There we are here.
00:13:18
Well, talking about earlier run support you're singing again is down here at the bottom.
00:13:27
Right now you're talking up close man coverage.
00:13:36
There's the handle.
00:13:38
He immediately notices that Thomas is coming up to try to block him out, which means this is a run or a screen.
00:13:49
And because he's up close and personal, it's not the same as when he's 10 yards away from him.
00:13:56
He's up close and personal.
00:13:57
He could feel the run coming.
00:14:00
Watch what he does.
00:14:02
Absolute beautiful.
00:14:03
He just shoved the receiver out wide.
00:14:06
Did you see that absolutely great play here.
00:14:10
He just you see how he's trying to block the receivers, trying to block him out so that the running back get around the linebacker and go behind him.
00:14:22
He uses his physical strength just to shut that corner out and make a tackle on Alvin Kamara close to the line of scrimmage.
00:14:37
This was absolutely great Run support play by you said it shows that he can do ah lot with the run game.
00:14:48
Hey, smiling Sally, Thanks for doing this stream here on SportsCastr.
00:14:51
I appreciate you being here, Um, so being that he was able to recognize the run and just out physical the corner to move him out of his way so he could move up and make the tackle on a very athletic running back.
00:15:12
Mind you, Alvin Kamara is not some little nobody running back.
00:15:17
He's very, very well known in the NFL of being an incredibly good utility back good, catching the ball out of the backfield like we saw earlier in the screen Pat screenplay.
00:15:28
And then, of course, on the stretch runs, Rocky san will be a very good, effective run stopper.
00:15:36
That's something that the Colts cornerbacks have had, Ah, lot of good success with the quarterbacks and is run support.
00:15:44
You notice, like up here at the top.
00:15:46
You got Pierre This here also very good at run support, Rocky said.
00:15:50
Very good at run support.
00:15:53
Hopefully, this will continue.
00:15:56
Let's go to the next play that I have on this list.
00:16:04
That way.
00:16:07
14 12.
00:16:09
Here we are, All right.
00:16:21
So who's where? Right.
00:16:29
Let's get a look here.
00:16:36
All right, So rocks down here.
00:16:38
The bottom and he's on man coverage.
00:16:42
As you see, this is kind of a bump and run.
00:16:46
Man.
00:16:50
Coverage follows the receiver immediately.
00:16:53
Kind of pushes him out.
00:16:54
Look how he's saying side by side with him, watching him, feeling him.
00:16:59
Got a hand on him, watching, knowing where this guy's going now.
00:17:06
As the receiver slows down, he looks back.
00:17:10
He looks back for the ball before the wide receiver looks back and notices the ball's been thrown to somebody else.
00:17:19
He breaks off, comes up Bam! Great support.
00:17:26
Helping his corners.
00:17:27
His safety's Stop him.
00:17:29
Had he not look back, this could have been This could have went for a touchdown.
00:17:36
How'd he not look back and seeing where the ball had went.
00:17:40
Now what's going on here? If he's side by side with him, he looks back, comes a fam.
00:17:55
See? Look at that stops him dead at the 15.
00:17:58
The other guys was near him but weren't getting the tackle.
00:18:05
But because rock turn and came up field to help support instead of getting, you know further down the line, he was able to stop him at the 15.
00:18:19
Rather than seeing that go further.
00:18:22
Great support great awareness on the field knowing that the play is already began, the ball has moved somewhere else, and he broke off from his guy in order to support his players around him.
00:18:37
His teammates.
00:18:39
This is an excellent play.
00:18:41
Do I have memorized place? Sometimes I go over the place, probably 789 times looking at the play, but and then I kind of got an idea.
00:18:57
But the problem is, is I go over so much film just to do these breakdowns because I'm just going over film so often, so much, just a pinpoint, specific plays that I want to highlight in these breakdowns that a lot of times they kind of mix up in my head, and I kind of lose track of which play I'm looking at.
00:19:21
Once I noticed the play and I see it.
00:19:22
I know exactly what I'm looking at, all right.
00:19:31
Next play.
00:19:33
This is an excellent play, by the way.
00:19:38
So we've seen that he does great support, whether it's supporting his players and stopping a reception, even if it's against somebody who he's not covering.
00:19:48
He's also very good at one support, obviously, still needs toe work on recognizing screenplays, diagnosing them a little bit quicker.
00:20:00
But, like I said, he was a rookie last year, something he probably didn't see a lot of.
00:20:07
So, you know another season under his belt with that would probably help out White a bit.
00:20:15
Now here's the play.
00:20:16
We're going to see any coverage and then move into a transition.
00:20:21
This is him transitioning from from covering one guy to another in a zone.
00:20:29
All right, now, this time he's up here at the top.
00:20:38
You've seen how close Iwas covering him Pretty close man coverage.
00:20:47
It's not necessarily bumping run, but this is what you're you want to do when you're when you're covering a guy one on one covers.
00:21:00
Now he's got him all the way back here.
00:21:11
All right, 15 yards down the line, he notices, if the guy covering this guy see if zone everybody's looking into the backfield at the quarterback.
00:21:22
So this is a zone coverage, right? He knows once this is his area.
00:21:29
What if he knows? Hey, there's someone getting ready to come into my area and this guy's getting ready to leave my area transitions from one player to the other, leaving this player to be covered by the safety.
00:21:45
Instead, stops moves forward up on this player and then see this.
00:21:55
This play isn't necessarily to him. The office.
00:21:58
This is just showing how good of a transition that transition from one player to the other was absolutely gorgeous.
00:22:10
Absolutely.
00:22:11
Go watch it.
00:22:12
What? Bam! He handed him off toe hooker Malik Hooker stop and moved up to him.
00:22:23
Now he sees the football being thrown so this ball could be going to him or to him.
00:22:29
So what's he do? He immediately goes to that receiver to make sure that ball was not to him.
00:22:35
The balls just caught.
00:22:37
Bam! He's on top of him like no bite have that ball been thrown to the receiver.
00:22:42
Rock had a good shot of breaking on that ball and getting an interception definitely would have got a pass defense.
00:22:50
This was a very good transition.
00:22:53
Bye, Rocky Sin and had.
00:22:55
So from here on out, when you see something like this, you know that if the ball is thrown in his direction on a transition in zone coverage, he's gonna make a play on that football.
00:23:14
Whoever's watching on YouTube, Thanks for the like.
00:23:17
I appreciate that.
00:23:18
If you're watching on SportsCastr, don't forget to give me Ah, like, give me a follow.
00:23:23
If you enjoy what what you're watching.
00:23:26
It is much, much appreciated on this next play.
00:23:31
We'll show you how he goes in his defense.
00:23:39
58.
00:23:46
This is absolutely gorgeous.
00:23:48
Coverage by rock here.
00:23:51
I mean gorgeous.
00:24:04
Top of the screen.
00:24:07
This is Tampa Bay.
00:24:08
They got two of the best wide receivers in the league, right? We got God one.
00:24:16
We got Evans, right? Great great wide receivers.
00:24:22
Some of it's just almost Some people say they're almost uncover herbal.
00:24:27
They're that good, Especially Evans.
00:24:29
Evans has been rated one of the top five wide receivers in the NFL for years.
00:24:36
Years? What? What happens as it starts off immediately.
00:24:48
The receiver gave him a little bit of shake, and if you watch, watch what happens when he leaves.
00:24:57
Watch him kind of give a little bit of a shimmy and rock.
00:25:02
Adjust his hips with the shimmy.
00:25:04
He doesn't actually move his feet.
00:25:07
Justus hips See kind of a stutter step.
00:25:12
Move his hips.
00:25:13
And once the receiver decided to break one way or the other, that's win.
00:25:20
Rock dedicated his feet to the direction he wanted to go.
00:25:27
At this point, he still got very tight coverage.
00:25:30
Looking back at the quarterback sees the quarterback looking in his direction.
00:25:35
Right nose.
00:25:36
Hey, I've got to stay with this receiver.
00:25:39
Stay.
00:25:40
Stay still looking.
00:25:43
The ball is now in the air.
00:25:45
Rock still like glue.
00:25:47
Now this is one on one.
00:25:50
This is one of this is whether wide receiver is expected to win.
00:25:54
White receivers are fully expected to win the 50 50 balls right, but they're supposed to attack the football rock.
00:26:03
You sitting, on the other hand, comes in and attacks the football himself, knocking it up.
00:26:09
You can't play cornerback better now.
00:26:12
You cannot play man coverage better than Rock just did right there.
00:26:18
That was absolutely great.
00:26:21
He is.
00:26:22
Mike Evans is a beast of a wide receiver, and you've just seen how, Rocky said handled him on an end zone throat.
00:26:29
That is outstanding.
00:26:35
Let's watch this again.
00:26:36
He glue once he sees he's looking back, looking back, looking back, looking back that ball is caught.
00:26:46
He sees him, thought he immediately.
00:26:48
He just pretty much just blankets.
00:26:51
The receiver gets point, the balls being thrown.
00:26:54
He knows what direction the receivers going.
00:26:56
He's gonna follow that, watches the ball in the air, cuts with them.
00:27:06
You notice how the receiver actually broke his broke off, kind of leveled out his route to try to get in front of Rock.
00:27:17
Yasin to get to the football.
00:27:20
And Rock didn't allow it because of how close he plays two receivers because he has a hand on him because he's a really touchy feely cornerback.
00:27:32
Now it gets Pittsburgh.
00:27:33
This would have been called pass interference just because of how close he was, but Rock had his eyes back at the quarterback the entire time he was following.
00:27:43
He was wanting to make a play on the football the entire time he levels out with the receiver reaches out, Bam, knocks the ball out or just play by Rocky Sin.
00:27:56
You can't play that any better.
00:27:58
I mean, come on, positively gorgeous.
00:28:04
We got one more play.
00:28:05
I want to go over.
00:28:07
And with that, we're gonna see how rock your sin breaks on a football.
00:28:15
Wallets in the air just like we saw here.
00:28:19
But this time slightly different.
00:28:22
Okay, just a little bit different.
00:28:28
Let's check this out now.
00:28:35
Had another connection error.
00:28:37
Let me fix this real quick.
00:28:44
There we go.
00:28:53
All right, Here's rock covering a wide receiver about five yards apart.
00:28:59
So this is this is good coverage.
00:29:02
He's not. He's not.
00:29:03
He's got respect for shark or chalk.
00:29:07
My bad d J.
00:29:09
He's got respect for the man speed, and any quarterback who actually cup knows.
00:29:15
Chart knows that.
00:29:16
He's got some quickness, all right, he's good.
00:29:20
Good wide receiver.
00:29:21
Morning promising players.
00:29:24
Jacksonville still has on their team again, covering still really close.
00:29:40
Look how he's looking, but he's not really looking.
00:29:43
He knows he's about five yards, six yards from the sideline.
00:29:50
He knows that the receiver, as long as he's looking back.
00:29:54
If the receiver cuts in front of him, he'll he'll see him.
00:29:59
And if the quarterback throws as you see right now, the quarterback is throwing this way.
00:30:06
He knows he's throwing this way, so he's watching.
00:30:10
If he throws at this receiver, he could make a break on the football.
00:30:14
He's got great positioning to cover this receiver right now, especially if it's downfield down here.
00:30:19
This is an interception, right? But that's not where the quarterback is throwing the football.
00:30:27
And because of this, he's throwing inside.
00:30:33
He is throwing to the receiver, but he's throwing more inside the receiver cuts in front rock, then adjusts not to the receiver, but to the football wallets in the air because his eyes was watching the quarterback the whole time.
00:30:50
At this point, you do not play the receiver.
00:30:53
Earlier, you saw that he was covering the receiver.
00:30:57
Man demands sticking with him, but because of the ark of the football, because he can't put as much off on the football as what Jamis Winston was able to do because he's gotta put an arc on it.
00:31:10
This is where you play the football.
00:31:12
Instead of the wide receiver.
00:31:17
He slows up, stopped at the last second.
00:31:21
He cuts right in front of the receiver to get this interception, rips it right out of his arms, grabs it, pulls it into him down.
00:31:32
The fact that he was able so able to just step in front is just beautiful.
00:31:44
Watch this, knowing that if he is all of the States behind him, then he knows you know he can adjust to go this way because it's behind him and he's in front of the receiver.
00:31:57
So he's got good positioning, great position.
00:32:03
And he's seen how the quarterback releases the football.
00:32:06
He's throwing it up.
00:32:07
He's throwing a 50 50.
00:32:09
Go get the ball to the high point.
00:32:15
Shark is good at that.
00:32:19
But who gets the ball? The high point? Look how high you said he just all the way. Look at that.
00:32:30
Here.
00:32:31
Got his bottom Feet is up.
00:32:32
Were around shark chest, his chest.
00:32:37
That is some ups for a for a player, that is some serious ups.
00:32:43
Oh, my Lord.
00:32:44
Wanna play? This is a great play by rockets in I mean absolutely.
00:32:53
He shows the athleticism.
00:32:55
Oh, my goodness.
00:32:57
Wow.
00:33:00
Getting them now.
00:33:01
The thing is, he showed a lot of that lady jumped just a hair early, just a hair.
00:33:07
So he called it as he was coming down from this jump.
00:33:10
He still had the positioning, though.
00:33:11
He jumped early because he wanted to have the positioning on the football.
00:33:17
But he's still just a herald, just 1/2 a second earlier and when he should have.
00:33:21
But again, he's a rookie.
00:33:24
He's gonna learn these things now.
00:33:31
What if my oh, what I have come down with from this absolutely, very good at man come? He's absolutely great man coverage.
00:33:44
Not that playing zone.
00:33:46
He's really good, as we've seen earlier at transitioning, handing off a receiver and moving on to the next, recognizing that one receiver that he's covering is leaving his own and noticing what another receivers entering his own.
00:34:02
Any transitions hands off in transitions.
00:34:05
Great at that.
00:34:07
But his absolute strength man coverage the way he's able to put his hands on a player and just follow him, follow him and blanket that receiver, and then on top of that, when he's covering a guy, and he knows that the receivers going deep like you just saw here with Shark.
00:34:28
He knows toe follow the quarterback's eyes and his body language on how that ball is going to be released.
00:34:36
That way he could make his own adjustments to the ball before it even gets to him.
00:34:43
You know, he can adjust himself so that he has positioning over the receiver rather than the receiver having positioning over him.
00:34:51
Absolutely great.
00:34:54
Great brain up here, actually, to be able to make these adjustments on the fly, which is what a quarterback has to do, right, because a wide receiver he makes these cuts.
00:35:04
He makes these moves on the fly.
00:35:09
Quarterback don't know where the wide receivers, No way quarterback has to be ableto follow that receiver and make those adjustments in.
00:35:17
He doesn't very, very good job.
00:35:19
I think him and Xavier Rhodes are gonna have a dog fight.
00:35:24
A dogfight with a quarterback, one position for the Indianapolis Colts.
00:35:29
Okay, I think it's absolutely great plays here.
00:35:33
I think the Colts defense in free agency has just went **** with the addition of the fourth Butner Sheldon Day, then your roads.
00:35:43
Yeah, we lost.
00:35:45
We lost Pierre this year, but that's okay here to see her.
00:35:48
Had a problem with speedy fast receivers.
00:35:51
He wasn't able to keep up with them.
00:35:53
Rocks younger, Got fresh legs, able to keep up with these kind of receivers.
00:35:58
This is something that I think the Colts defense is absolutely going to be beastly next season, especially with a more bell tell sitting back there with Malik Hooker.
00:36:11
What athleticism you're gonna have in the back help with the corners because of that athleticism, Rocky sins.
00:36:19
Gonna have the ability to play.
00:36:21
These guys really, really tight and not have to worry about being over the top as much because he's got such great five line, the sideline athletic speed at safety covering behind him.
00:36:35
And that's gonna make his place even better for the 2020 season and beyond.
00:36:40
I wanna thank everybody that sat here and wash the stream with me live on SportsCastr and YouTube again.
00:36:49
Oh, red Phoenix.
00:36:51
Thanks for the chat, Lissy.
00:36:53
I would be happy if he was starting this year.
00:36:56
He has such a good well, believe it or not, he did start last year, but he was the cornerback to he covered the second wide receivers, the number two wide receivers for teams.
00:37:07
This year, I think he'll cover.
00:37:08
I think he'll be following the number one receivers around.
00:37:12
Now it's something I really hope that he does as well.
00:37:18
But again, also were also hoping that Xavier Rhodes goes back to his All Pro 2017 form rather than what we saw in his injury riddle.
00:37:27
2018 2019 form.
00:37:30
We have that.
00:37:31
Oh my goodness.
00:37:32
The past defense for the Indianapolis colt to be outstanding as long as Matt Ebert flutes goes into Maur of ah ah, 60 40 man coverage rather than a 70 30 zone coverage.
00:37:46
That's just my opinion, especially with the fact of how much pass rush that this court's front seven has this year with the addition of the forced Buckner because of how much divorced will improve that pass rush.
00:38:02
Just not because of himself, but how how well, he's gonna end up taking double teams and allowing the rest of the players like Kemoko to Ray and Justin Houston and then Managua, and stuff like that of these other guys blitzing with with Kenny Maur and Darius Leonard, and other players.
00:38:24
This past rush is gonna be very, very dangerous.
00:38:27
And because of that pass rush, this Colt secondary especially the cornerback can play bump and run press coverage because they don't have to cover him very long.
00:38:39
And that pulse right in a rocket sins, strong suit rock could have a really, really, really good season this year.
00:38:48
I'm excited to see it.
00:38:50
I still have some things he's gotta work on, but I think I think we're gonna notice that he's gonna be a very, very solid player.
00:39:00
I wouldn't be surprised if he starts getting some, uh, Pro Bowl nods.
00:39:06
That'd be pretty awesome, right? But that's being that. It's a little early.
00:39:11
That's a little early, but I think he's got the skills to be able to do that.
00:39:17
So I won't think everybody that joined this film right down This is Rocky Sand going over his rookie year and what I expect from him in the next season and give me a follow, Don't fret, smashed the light buttons down there.

No matter what platform You're watching this on today, we're gonna go over rock. Yes.
00:04:13
Thin.
