What's up, everybody? It's your boy, Big Baby Jonathan.
Welcome to Late Edition, The Big Baby Johnson Sports podcast On on today's show, I'm gonna be talking about code brightly in the Hall of Fame and what era? Best.
But do I like to watch or what do I think that is the best of all time? But first, let's get on into a Hall of Fame grass.
The Kobe Bryant Congrats to Kevin Garnett.
Progress to Tim Duncan Caressed it to make Catchings progress every time Jonah ***** welcomes over the Hall of Fame and you guys deserve it.
You know, I mean, but this this hall of fame is a really, really, really, really special one, and that's unfortunate code Brown won't be speaking at his Hall of Fame.
You know, it's it's crazy, you know, Way would have thought you had been speaking stuff, and, uh, it's crazy.
But he scored so many points.
33 common, 643 points of all time.
18 time All Star 15 time all team 11 x first team 12 all Defensive team nine x first team.
Five time champion, four time All Star MVP.
Two time scoring in two top scoring champion two time finals.
Have you be two time Olympic gold medalists and Yemen? Coy O'Brien deserves but reading all this to you guys, man, that this is all Hall of Famer.
Most definitely, man. Well deserved.
You know, in my surprises, in all of them.
No, not our news will be in all of time, you know, just like his demeanor in the court is passion.
His hustle, his greatest grown in very passionate about what he does.
He likes to win regards, you know, you know, he won't take nothing like he doesn't like to lose.
Even when he retired, he did his book one Academy Award.
He did his done other things.
Rochester's book had podcast about it.
No corporation is a winner on and off the court, you know, And that's the thing about this whole a fade.
It's gonna be act on Springfield when they have the Hall of Fame in August.
And here's something to who's gonna speak at Cho brats qualified.
It's gonna be tough.
And you got shack, you got Michael Jordan, you got LeBron got Vanessa Bryant, you got You had all these athletes.
I'm wonder who's really going.
Take time and energy toe, put our script together and speak in front of people at the Hall of Fame for me.
And you don't I don't know.
If you ask me, who do you think should speak and clever and Hall of fame for me? I don't know.
That's a tough one, man.
That's really a tough one.
No, like it did today.
Like, who knows? We'll be speaking at the Hall of Fame for Kobe.
You know, I just have to wait and see.
But like Overall man Kobe, it will be miss tremendously like he's just He's a great He's a great all around one of the best for me.
Greatest Laker of all time on care.
Anybody said, That's just my opinion, you know, you got you guys got Magic Johnson, James Worthy Shack.
All these players on Lakers back in the day.
But for me, Kobe Bryant is the most greatest Laker of all time.
Just his demeanor, his passion for the game, you know, like right in my pocket.
There's a lot of times called Brian would be watch film would watch film on certain games when you had the mistake, Song That's what I do for this platform.
Watch my podcast.
What can I do to get better? And I use that to my pockets.
And I think one thing called Brian for inspiring me every time each and every podcast man we'll miss you man is gonna be will be emotional night that night, you know? I mean, just like today there on NBC.
They're replaying Game seven and be filed in Boston.
That game right there, um, was one of the best of all time for me, you know? I mean, but, like, I'm gonna implement this my top five years called Bright Moments. Number one.
Like I said, they're beating Boston.
You know, even though that game was tough, it was stressful.
But Kobe had 20 points shot six for 24.
People, the haters say, Oh, he had a bad game.
Okay, I get it back again.
But he did drop 20 points and 15 rebounds.
Now it's all about scoring in the game seven.
And before you could do a little bit like the passen rebounds, blocked shots, take charters, you know, playing tough defense.
And they may not show what on the replay, but there will be a position called the Lock Somebody up and you don't see it, you know, I mean, but we see this fans.
But people that of the replay, people that run we play, you know, what I'm trying to say is you could do little things without scoring our You know, I know that game by Kobe's performance, every so it's one of the worst seat perform. No, it wasn't.
He dropped 20 points and 15 rebounds.
Timely insisted, no timely assist in the in the vault with the run.
Our test, you know, it's like I don't get why people always have to hang on Kobe back then.
But now it's all love.
Like all the haters hate on Kobe now have love for him and stuff.
But for me, men that that's that's number one on my list for my fifth top five co brought moments of all time and just just the way we came back, we were down like 15 in that game and we started make Tommy defensive stops.
Well, Jackson a good job coaching that game.
They're Fischer stepped up big time, and, uh, I really like that game seventh.
No runner tested crucial shot in the fourth quarter.
You know, just overall, man, that was a good game.
Um, number two is 81 point game.
Any one point game for me is up there because I remember where I was watching.
Watching it in my house in Palm Springs, California.
You're gonna think I'm crazy.
Um, I remember having Peter that they had pizza wings and soda that day.
I was like, Man, let's hope he has a great game of it.
You want points? You know, anyone points.
That was really, really, really, really, really a fun game. Just is.
He was unstoppable.
Like, if you would have Phil Jackson that put him didn't take about five minutes left, I guarantee covert At least 80 81 81.
He had at the time, probably 98 of the best go was on a mission that, you know, I mean, just 81 points.
Who would have thought core Bryant scoring, run.
But for me And I'm not surprised by Kobe to score.
No, he gets in rhythm, he hustles, he grit to grab.
Like I'm telling you right now, you know how Bright Chamberlain has 100 point game.
Coburn has 81 you got them Booker for 70.
All those records, I don't know.
Woken beat the 100 points or 81 points in the n b A.
I don't know could beat that record.
You know what I mean? Just Overall Corp.
That was my second favorite moment of Kobe.
A one point game was trying a love that energy from just disability gets the remedies.
You know, you think John Rhodes, I don't by you through Ah Watson, who lost the trunk through him.
Marcus Peterson by and easy.
Just all people.
So that's the one thing I like about Kobe Bryant's game when you try to dump here, he could still score on you, you know? I mean, like, it's crazy how Kobe Bryant, when people think that always a bog, is this thing, that he's on the bog.
He's a he's a score.
That's what you're supposed to have.
The score, just like you have a point, are pointless facility.
Just like senators.
They blocked shots, run the floor, rebound just just overall Cobras.
A one point game was second to me up there, second right now the second.
My favorite Cobra moments of all time. You got number three.
The Redeem Team Redeem Team was so great.
I love I love what they did.
You got doing way.
So I hired all the great players and plates painting a powerful Psalm market.
So that was a back and forth game.
And then Kobe Bryant took over in the fourth quarter, hit a crucial three pointer and one to sell the game.
That was the reason I like that game is because we battled back and forth that before and Kobe Bryant took over in the fourth quarter.
You know, I just love his demeanor in that 4/4 hustle.
His grip is grinding just overall.
Just everything about Kobe Bryant in that game is great. Legendary.
You know, not just another milestone on Chloe Bryant's career.
You know, just all the Redeem team.
You know, it was great, well coached team over there.
Mike D'Antoni, my chef ski, got a group of guys that they played for Marcia. Chef.
See, you know the hustle. Great grind.
And, uh, yeah, that's third on my list and number and number number four for me Number four for me, man is Ah.
When Matt Barnes tryto throw the ball, Coby and Kobe didn't flinch, you know? I mean, a lot of plays would have backed up.
But Kobe's like, Okay, you know, I scared you.
Matt Barnes was happening in the It's crazy, You know, just that game, that blonde cobra going back and forth plant physicality, basketball because coach Matt Barnes dumped like God put back dunk over Kobe before we put his four amount on, like was young, terrific technical foul on Kobe's.
Like I put his hands up.
But but coal wasn't afraid of anything on the court.
Noted type of fear was putting code.
People try to make it seem People try to put fear in court because now you're gonna do that.
Man, you could throw the ball at me and go Flensburg like just overall coat coat running was scared of any anything on the court, you know, if you throw ah, great defender like back in the day in 2000 Ruben Patterson called Kobe Cooper step in.
That don't work Like like I see him.
I see the Kobe, Kobe and Michael Jordan I could see they're basically the same similar type of player.
No Michael Jordan.
Especially if you throw somebody that plays that tough defense.
Michael Jordan's going to say, Okay, I'm driving 50 sama. Kobe.
They played just like I don't care what anybody says called Brought.
Michael Jordan had a similar game.
There's a video of it where they put all the place together.
Same exact place, you know? I mean, so, bro, I'm saying is Kobe is a tough, tough, tough mofo, you know? I mean, you know, scared.
You know, you ain't gonna scare it.
No, he if you try toe talk, mess, he likes him, He lacks competitors.
So if you talked Massimo Okay, that drives him and people booing him.
You know, that makes him more hungrier to show you.
I'm gonna put up 30 piece of hitting the game, winning your face and be quiet and, uh, number.
There's actually six I wrote down.
So my number five all time list is Ah, Well, Kobe shot free throws after tours Achilles, because at first, when that play happened, when he blew by Harrison Barnes, I thought he got tripped.
And then once he looked at my Barnes.
I said, Did you? So I told a story about it.
He asked, Here's the Barnes.
You kicked me and he said No.
And then once he said no, he knew it.
But what was crazy? Usually players that get injured like that would have to be carried off right there.
Boom boy locker, Because like hell, no, I'm gonna shoot these features, you know? I mean, he walked back to the locker room, Kobe Bryant walked back to lock up after you shot those two free throws.
That's how legendary career Brian is.
You know, he did everything to his ability to get get the job done on the court.
No, he fought like after games would be I stuff, you know? I mean, there was a picture of Kobe with ice around the shoulders and his knees and just chilling on the bench.
He did everything this power toe win that he didn't care.
How long do you didn't care what it took? He did it.
He fought through everything.
Man, I really like Kobe did that game, You know, that was your reports to when they be tension with hard Steve Nash.
We got all those, but we didn't want.
It was because the injuries of Kobe and stuff in my Cantoni, we're trying to say is that that the final moment Kobe shooting two free throws, walking off, walking off the court, Just another leg legacy moment from Kobe Bryant? No, just another legacy.
Kobe being Bryant and my last one for my 6th 1 Um was Kobe Bryant 60 point games and here's the crazy thing I said, Kobe that game or that day when there's exciting. Okay, Cobras.
Last game. Hopefully, he's gonna have again.
I said 50 points.
I was 10 off, I said 50 points.
My brother and my cousin said, 45 or 46 it was crazy man.
50 point, I predict fit, but I was about 10 points.
6 point game is not surprising from Kobe Bryant, you know, I mean, because check Ah, week before that, he played his 60 point last game.
He was like a Kobe.
You should drive 50 piece of Kobe's like, Yeah, I am doing that.
And then he dropped 60.
So it's another remarkable moment in code Bright's career.
You know, like who like Michael Jordan in his last game didn't do good, you know? I mean, because you dropped 60.
That that's just recipe for calling to drop 16 his last game.
That's not surprising, you know? I mean, that's just not surprising what Kobe does.
I mean, I thought he was going.
I said 50 but like when he was going for 60 at the time, Okay, when hit 60 go for 61 or try to go for 80 you know, it's your last game, you know, and that That's the one thing I don't like about people that talk mess about Kobe.
How do you like for me? When I was on Twitter at the time, people are saying, Oh, you two are letting him always taking too many shots.
If it was my last game, I'll be taking all the shots.
I don't care what Brian's ability to get to the remedies to throw people out, and he's going to go by, You know, 60 point game is a legendary game for Kobe.
It's just another milestone in his legacy, you know, and I thought, I think too cold front will get a statue outside of Staples Center. You can book it.
You know, I could be asked me What statue would you take out? All say, Oscar De La Hoya put coz right there.
Oscar De La Hoya's or rang Gretzky Bone will get statue instead at the Staples, and you can book it.
You can book it, you know? I mean a book.
Kobe Bryant getting a statue outside Stepper Center.
You know, I mean, for a lot of stuff going around.
No basketball, no MBA.
No NFL, no sports.
But they are speaker MBA.
I'm talking about Cobra.
MBA is talking about potentially doing horse horse, you know, horse competition.
We're gonna film it, put on the Internet, and I'm okay with that.
And yet, man, now let's switch over.
What era basketball do I like? I really didn't watch the nineties or eighties, but I did watch 2000.
That's why I became a Laker fan with the 2000 with Kobe Bryant.
And Shaq and Shack called his demeanor in the court.
But I say to doubts, because you had shack you had Kobe.
You had all these great players and his physicality.
I love the physicality.
And in today's MBA, if you have bad breath, you get thrown up.
If you play, that tough defense gets thrown up.
And I mean, if there's if there's altercation to get going.
But back then, if you get if you get your fell side out.
No, don't Don't cry.
The draft. Not on back there in 2000.
There's a lot of physicality, lot of altercations, you know? I mean, I just like physicality.
The 2000 error was my favorite error to watch.
No, I mean because I didn't really didn't watch the eighties or nineties, right about 2000 start washing basket, you know? I mean, just loved it.
Just let the physicality, you know.
But today and if, well, Braun attachment begins with you, get sore.
Not for saying Get off.
We watch out, back, dead ball out.
You know, it's like, just like back then I saw how that's of Kevin McHale and Kurt Rambis.
I know they got ejected, but it's okay.
It's part of basketball.
There's gonna be a physicality regards of what type of sport wrestling, baseball and fell.
Any type of sport you play, it's gonna be physicality.
So that's the reason I like that two dozen there is because you had great people play great defense.
You unshackle Kobe.
You had all these great players around the league at some Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady.
That era was legendary, you know.
I mean that error, that the two thousand's was legendary for me, man, I just I just missed two years. I just missed the era.
Basketball. You know, my taste basketball.
You could still be.
You could still play physical, but sometimes it Buddy, Buddy, let's go get something to eat after the game.
I have nothing to do with you until the summer.
I mean, like I just like that.
That rivalry there's not that much robberies.
All this is Buddy Buddy.
Let's go get something to eat.
I want to take some tic talks.
I want to go on Instagram and have a swim swag.
Back then it's Don't talk to me.
I don't know you.
I don't know you like Nah, today's MBA era when it comes to being physical It's soft.
You don't think I'm crazy And I said it.
I keep 100 on the baby job to sports podcast people 100.
That's what I do.
Today's MBA is soft.
That's just my opinion.
I don't care what people have to say.
This is my opinion and I love what I do.
So if you hate on it, keep it step and keep it moving.
You don't like what I say.
You don't have to watch my show.
I'm just keeping it real.
I mean, today's MBA when it comes to being physical, your stop.
No, you may have your patch.
Beverly's people pass me that talk and can't score.
And I just don't like today's India when it comes to playing physical.
But you can't put physical.
Today's big everybody watching you live on sports.
Katulis, to me on anchor, can agree with me.
Today's MBA soft.
Okay, anybody says man, it's just crazy.
