First up, we're talking some NFL action.
We got the Buccaneers make another move at the quarterback position.
You know, they say you can never have too many goats in one quarterback room and the Tampa Bay Bucks a proven that.
True as they re side free agent quarterback Blaine Gabbert to a one year contract.
Now Javert isn't actually the greatest aboard full time like his starter, Tom Brady.
But Gabbert has been a 10 year veteran and been decent during that time last year.
You spent all of last year on the injury reserve back after hurting his shoulder during the preseason, but overall, he's had some staying power in the league.
You started with Jackson build and moved over San Francisco, Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals and noticed that Cardinals.
That's where Bruce Arians coached him in 2017.
So we have some Air Ian's Gabbert connection there.
So one reason why they would make sense for him to back up Tom Brady instead of Jameis Winston Jameis.
Winston, of course, is looking for a bigger contract and probably won't get that.
If you're looking at the news and what you know the Patriots going to give it to him, the Chargers, who is going to go out there and pay big money? The Jaguars definitely aren't.
The Buccaneers aren't Dolphins are looking.
All the teams in Florida Dolphins probably won't.
They're probably going to go for two, uh, in the draft.
So it's not looking good for Winston, the former Tampa Bay bucking your starting quarterback.
But Gabbert has a job.
Winston doesn't and you still another note on Kabir Chiaki entered.
The NFL is 1/10 overall pick back way back in 2011 hasn't quite lived up to those standards now Maura, journeymen backup type quarterback, but he has started 48 games off the 56 he's played in.
He has over nine just over 9000 yards, 9036 to be exact on 48 touchdowns and 47 interceptions.
So about 1 to 1 touchdown interception.
Not horrible, amazing more towards the horrible side.
If you have to pick one, that's we're looking at on.
That's what the Buccaneers quarterback situation is gonna be.
Maybe they got 1/3 guy in there, probably in the draft.
Maybe if Jake from drops a lot, maybe they could came up just to develop someone after Brady leaves.
That could potentially happen.
So just keep an eye on on the quarterback situation for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers now and going forward over to the San Francisco 40 Niners, They signed a wider Huber.
They just made that official.
This is more of a wide receiver death move.
The natural wide receiver store move.
They're not getting a big player in Travis Benjamin.
If you know Travis Benjamin, you know he's been with the Chargers for the past four years.
And it actually was a member of the San Diego Chargers, way back when, in 2016 and before that's been four years with the Brown.
So now you'll actually be with a winning franchise with the Niners and like it's a deft move, mainly because they have, ah lot of that.
You both Samuel Kendrick Gorn marquees Goodwin that they might move on from Goodwin.
We're not sure exactly what's gonna happen there.
But even even going down the list.
Dante Pettus, Richie James Jr.
Jalen Hurd So or even Trent Taylor, George Kill.
He's a tight end, but in terms of receiving actual catching balls talent, they have a lot of that and one thing to notice.
Jimmy Growth does like to spread the ball around now so you could see a guy like a Kendrick board.
He was more of a special teams lower than F chart type of a guy, but Jimmy Garoppolo targets him in the end zone a couple of times.
Bingo, Bango Bongo.
He's got three touchdowns and it's, you know, Week seven.
So pretty impressive.
Not exactly there.
That's just kind of along the lines of the type of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is.
Travis Benjamin could get some more targets on a little bit more fantasy push.
You could see him maybe as a late round pick up if you see some injuries early in training camp.
Some stats on Travis Benjamin here.
Last year, he only played five games, had six catches kind of a lost year, but going back to 2017 he played all 16 games, 34 receptions and had 10 catches of 20 or more yards.
Pretty impressive 16.
7 yards port for catch.
That was his average.
And of those 34 receptions, 20 went for first down.
So that's pretty impressive.
You like to see a wide receiver that can pick up, pick up yards and move the chains.
And Travis Benjamin, in a small sample size, has proven he can do that, even going back to 2016 2015 2016 He had 2010 another 10 20 yard catches of more than 20 yards in 2015.
12 of those and 2015 was his best year with the Browns.
His last one with the Browns played all 16 games, 68 receptions, almost 1000 receiving yards.
966 to be exact.
In terms of all security, he doesn't fumble that often 55 fumbles over his entire tenure since 2012 and he's got over 3000 yards, so definitely more.
But a deft move.
Maybe we could see him the slot and I used to like to get creative.
If we could see him out of the backfield, we don't know, so we'll see how that goes moving forward. But that's right.
Now Travis Benjamin is gonna be with the San Francisco 40 Niners.
Last piece of NFL news here the Bears officially announcing open competition for the Q B spot.
That should come as no surprise as a Justic acquired Saint Nick.
Nick Bowls a Super Bowl MVP himself from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
It was a little unusual to see the Jaguars move on from Nick Foles so quickly, especially considering they just even that massive four year contract just this last offseason.
That moving on from now and how he's gonna be competing.
Not with Gardner men.
True, but, said Mitchell, trip, this key travesty has had some slope, some kind of slow growth.
I'll put it that way.
The nice way at U N C.
He was pretty good second overall pick, so the Bears were pretty high on him.
It was a questionable pick at the time, and it's still a questionable pick right now as now that the bringing quarterback competition Yeah, Bears coach Matt Nagy said that both players air quote embracing the battle and will play out and will play out whenever offseason workouts begin.
He's talking a lot about Travis Key being the first quarterback to get those reps, but both will have almost equal and almost exactly split down the middle and comes up playing time in terms of reps, he said.
They want to see both in the preseason.
We're gonna see both of them.
The preseason, finally more preseason action.
Four games is a lot of preseason meaningless football, and the quarterbacks are the only players you really know about.
You know, few years back.
It's RG three in the preseason with the Ravens still with them now.
So hopefully little Travis Key little fools action should be fund or watching those four games whenever we do have football action return.
And yet, like they're gonna get equal wraps and I like this, I think it was pretty obvious when you get a guy off fulls caliber.
Yes, he was a backup in Philly in turned into a backup in Jacksonville, but he wasn't obviously ah, backup type wasn't going out there getting a Blaine Gabbert cover so I could beat with Tom Brady.
This is a guy that even if he wasn't gonna be, uh, clearly competing for the starting job, he could have easily been swapped in halfway through the season and see what he could do, Much like the Ryan can inhale move in Tennessee.
They get him in the off season.
Mario don't like where that's going and he turns into an ale.
I'm, you know, a F C I Comeback player of the year we're in.
Tennessee takes with the A F C championship game, losing the Chiefs, unfortunately, but overall, that's that's what they're looking at.
Mario is now in Las Vegas and that that type of move is borderline in terms of clear competition and clear back up.
So this one clear competition, we're going to see that play out going into the offseason and into training camp, moving now into the N B A.
Whoa! Janowski won't bomb.
He dropped one just a little while ago, saying Quote the N B A and ESPN are working on a televised horse competition involving several high player, high profile players.
Sources say players would shoot in isolation, pursue 1,000,000 home James and matte shots against come competitors detail.
They're still being finalized, so this isn't quite breaking news, but the slow news cycle we're in right now in the world of sports, this is breaking news, and it's gonna be introducing how this actually comes to fruition because there is the league's Manda mandatory isolation protocol.
I don't know how they're going to get a lot of players with home James participating, you might see maybe more guys with coops in their backyard in their driveway.
Not quite the home gym set up that LeBron James has been counting on social media.
He definitely, of course, the king.
It's probably better than your look, why, in terms of actual fitness training equipment.
So I don't know how this is gonna work out.
I'm gonna watch it because there's nothing else to watch right now.
If you've been doing on ESPN, I think they got Thea the N B A Finals from 2010 on.
You got Rondo versus Kobe in the Lakers Celtics Game seven of the NBA Finals.
So you know this Is this gonna be more content? Tow Watch? What do you prefer live real games that mattered.
But for now this is what we'll have to settle with as they finalize details.
It's not confirmed yet.
We've seen things fall through the past.
Thankfully, the n B a Q K player sermon came through.
I watched a little bit of that yesterday, Ronnie to Kay with an okay, M c Ah, little little unusual That said, if they had, they're probably working with what they got.
If you have been watching us on Instagram at Pasco Sports I G upset, I was upset by Derrick Jones Jr.
The seating in that tournament, too, was a little unusual because it was based off the players individual ranking.
But that had nothing to do with their two K ability, nor their actual player, because I ended up playing with just a pool of a team so believe Katie played with the Clippers and Jones played with the buck.
So that was a little unusual.
The seating here, Hopefully with the horse competition.
They'll figure that out.
Maybe they go to East west and they do it on the team seating or they just don't know who the better players are.
So we'll see how that works out.
We're not given a date for that one that to Kate Tournament is going on right now.
Started yesterday gives, you know, know what horse is most for. Sports fans do.
But if you don't hear is the definition horse involves players attempting different shots of different kinds.
Of the first player shot is made.
The next player has to replicate.
It will receive a letter.
The first player spell out the word horse loses Pretty simple.
There's a lot of style involved to.
There've been rumors that Zion Williamson could participate and tryto dunk really hard core.
And that could be fun to watch.
Not just one is actually a Pelican's Lakers game, but fun nonetheless.
That's what we got.
And the one thing to note here.
The MP actually featured a horse competition before they introduced it as an All Star weekend of it event during the 2008 years and nine campaign.
Kevin Durant one that one and then once again, back to back years and then 92,010 competition.
And then they eventually disbanded to us and 11.
But Katie, if he is a participant in this year's tournament, you got to give him the favorite position here.
If he's healthy, that's the thing.
I saw a report saying that that's would clear him if they come back.
It's not exactly sure when this tournament will happen.
So if it's another couple weeks, Katie, why not? If you just thinking jump shots here, he doesn't have to face those lying on dunks right away.
Why not? So we'll see healthier Kevin Durant.
Help healthy Kevin Durant participate.
And yet, that's what we're looking in the world of N b A.
Moving now into Major league baseball, there are discussions right now.
There's ongoing discussions about the league resuming play in centralized locations without fans as they look for ways to conduct the 2020 season rule Ari and delayed major league baseball time.
Opening day was supposed to happen back on the 26th.
The Giants home opener here in San Francisco would have been yesterday a little disappointed.
It didn't happen, but we're making a way through it.
Discussions right now are centered around Arizona, and Florida is being the main locations for teams to play.
But the first informers thing that Major League baseball is most concerned about is public help, and I don't want to rush this thing come back too soon, and then risk, Ah, player or an umpire and official or a team official that is, Remember the media having the disease and infecting other players? Because if that happens, you gotta shut it all down.
You're back to square one.
They don't want that to happen.
You don't You don't wanna have to quarantine all 30 teams together in a Florida at mine early spring training facility at, you know, Arizona Camelback Ranch in Arizona.
You don't want that to happen, but they do wanna have the 20 seat 2020 season go on and have some sort of baseball action happen this this summer and hopefully within the next couple weeks, we'll see how that happens.
But, yeah, there's no official decision right now, and a lot of lot of decision will come down.
How aggressive, Easy Gonna push He was on SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt the other night saying that they're gonna have baseball this year.
It's just a matter of when.
So holy. That's true.
Big thing to be aware of, the the C.
Central Center of Control Ah has recommended against gatherings of 50 plus people until at least May 10th so If Major League baseball does go against that and maybe goes a little sooner, you could see some public pushback, especially if something does happen, God forbid against someone getting back disease and potentially affecting other ones.
That was probably the one sport you could come back sooner.
Maybe you go robot umpires and even to capture a few feet back and no leads off first base outside that you wouldn't really have players being that close together.
Outfielders are easily a couple 100 feet away from the nearest infielder already.
The biggest thing is the umpires.
And then when you hold a guy on first the first baseman in the base runner, of course, though, you're gonna be having a lot of players touched the ball, share the same ball.
So it's gonna be you're gonna need to get it all clear from public health officials if that is gonna happen in terms of any sort of games being played.
He went on record saying his thoughts on video players playing in stadiums without any fans.
Keep in mind, take sheriff.
For most of his career, he played with the Yankees, so he had a packed House is almost every night, either in the Bronx or on the road, because your Yankees got to go see them.
If they come to Oakland or any sort of game date there on the road, there must see attraction.
So he's had a lot of experience playing in front of fans, and now we'll have to see what happens.
He said that it will be weird for the first, probably first week or two, at least.
And then he said, guys will get used to it.
He said Mark Cuban has been talking about the n b A.
So he thinks it could be a possibility for Major League baseball.
One thing he said, though, that he's not cool with happening is players.
Owners cutting that play because there's no fans in attendance, that's the one thing he doesn't want happen, said he talked to a fellow major leaguer, saying, That's the biggest concern. Quote.
We are not cool with owners saying they want to pay us less because we're playing in empty stadiums.
Player's overall have no problem playing an empty stadium.
So I think would be cool to see couple empty stadium games we saw that happened a few years back with the White Sox and the Orioles when they're from civil unrest in Baltimore, and it's gonna take some time to get used to US fans as well.
We're gonna have more tremendous without any fans until they had to cancel that because of Rudy Go Bear and that Sports Day that will live in infamy March 11th that Wednesday when he got it in the knee.
Subsequently on March 12th.
That Thursday shut it all down and we're still recovering as sports fans try to get some Twitter sense of normalcy and try not to get too bored.
Tiger King, of course, on Netflix is helping with that a little bit if you're a fan, but in terms of empty stadiums, it will probably happen.
We're gonna be the first step they go towards.
There's been talk in the N B A that they will go towards no fans and then have it all in Vegas.
Maybe went out an entire hotel.
Casinos shut down so they could do this.
Entire MGM put all the players and their quarantine them, test them and have them play at the Thomas and Mack.
Just a block away, so that's a potential that's a possibility moving into Major League Baseball actual transactions.
Rosters are frozen.
So we're not going to see any player movement in terms of between teams and between Triple A and a major league roster that was announced as part of the collective bargaining agreement amendment that they did because of the delayed start opening day and everything that's going on.
So we just more have some minor notes here.
David Hale, relief pitcher for the New York Yankees.
He was released on Thursday by the Yankees but was just re signed by the Yankees to a minor league contract that seems to be more of a contractual move in an actual skill move.
How could David Hale is as a pitcher? And the main reason here is because under the old contract, the 32 year old Hurler would have the option to opt out four days before the end of spring training under the New Deal.
He now gets that option five days before the new season begins.
Whenever that date is so just a little more flexibility on his part, they'll not a horrible picture with the Yankees and 2019 year, 3.
Ray, one point to whip and 23 strikeouts against just seven walks in his 37 2/3 innings for the pin stripe.
The boys in blue for the Yankees.
They're so good. Death move.
We'll see how the Yankees handle this.
They wanna have World Series aspirations this year, and you're gonna have pitching depth to make it through well, no matter to make it through 1 62 But now, maybe you don't need as much pit pitching depth here.
Normally, I like to see minor leaguers are borderline fringe starters get an opportunity to play, and that's what David Hale would be.
But now, with the shortened season, you might be able to just run with your guys for the full what 1 21 100 game that they're gonna play.
And maybe Hale would get a little less playing time.
The biggest concern would be if he often with his contract and played it and chose to play with a minor league team that they wouldn't have a minor league season at all because they're even more scattered around through the country and you'd have to play for the Triple A team, and I have to go down to double A.
So a lot of movement love flights, interaction with fans, players at that minor league level, even more so than major legal, up at the major league level because of autographs and because of all that engagement.
So that's we're looking for the Yankees in terms of another relief pitcher.
We have the ST Louis Cardinals.
He is expected to resume his rehab left next week.
Yet the left hander is recovering from a tourney right hamstring.
He had to shut down his rehab, but briefly due to your personal mentor, but he's expected to resume next week.
If your breaths easel fan, he's on his road to recovery.
Not the clear timetable quite yet on when he will return.
But chances are he'll be ready in time to the start of the regular season whenever that maybe we're not sure yet.
But in terms of fantasy, if you're looking for some relief pitchers that just some interesting players tow watch Brett Cecil, David Hale, they could be on your radar, and that's all the news we got today, Sam.
Pastor, this is the daily headlines.
Before we go, I do want to turn your attention to our Instagram page at Pasco Sports I G.
You can Texas there as well a little.
But in the profile hit text, let us know your thoughts get in on the conversation and we've had some great conversation on her Instagram.
I've been posted some pics from the various twitterverse that I've caught my attention.
We have the horse tweets from Whoa, John! They're little Steph Curry Photo Our video from last time chef owner talking about Donald Trump calling the commissioners of all the major sports leagues and saying that the shooter zoom very soon.
Ah, but the most recent one here is a picture of Brady Brees Rivers in Rothenberger talking about who is going to retire first.
So we're gonna have to see what happens to be a lot of older quarterbacks.
Probably all Hall of Fame bound Rivers of probability.
Because he hasn't actually won a ring, has been great for what he's done in the regular season, but actually hasn't had much *** *** success beyond that.
So my picture, I think, is gonna be either rivers or Big Ben, I probably have to ggo.
I've been debating here.
We have some debate in the comments section I My initial thought was Big Ben just because he's hinted at it before or after a couple of bad games.
I think of one for years back where you threw four interceptions, he said.
Told me, I'll just retire right now, but like in a serious upset way and they don't really have a great number one right receiver option for him.
Juju Smith, Schuster Cancer.
Go step back last year after they lost Antonio Brown.
James Corner, Isn't it lady on Belle type? And you could see the Steelers want to move on.
He's coming off a major injury and recovery from this from rehab and surgery and that big beard.
If you saw his Social Media video talking about staying inside during quarantine, so I thought he'd be the first to go in terms of retirement.
They have Mason Rudolph there, hopefully Jameis Winston.
That's my pick for where Winston should land, and that's that's what I was thinking in the comments, though we were hearing some ah, some good conversation among Rivers potentially wanting to jobs because of his age.
He's gonna be with a new team.
If he doesn't mesh with the Colts with T Y Hilton and that offense, he could go right after next year.
Big Ben could potentially, even if you rest a couple games this year, be back for next year to just bent towards some young players and Rivers.
Probably not going to do that.
They got you Kobe percent.
There wasn't quite gonna mental young players, but is a young player himself that doesn't need much mentoring, so they could easily move on from him.
Just looking at some of the comments here, you can hop on a CZ.
Well, it's past your sports I g on instagram, so it's pretty clear in terms of a consensus on Instagram.
You don't get much of that on Instagram.
But Brady and Brees will probably stayed most likely for neck for this year and next.
He has a two year contract with the Bucks, so he's definitely gonna be back after this year.
Won't be not definitely a major injury.
Anything could happen, but it looks like more likely than not, he will be with the Bucks, even potentially longer than that.
It's a two year contract, and it seems like he could maybe go back to New England.
But maybe it's not turn into a journeyman, but, you know, maybe maybe go on with another team, continue playing as that's his goal with Plato, 45 breathe.
There's no question marks around him, but he's in such a potent offense right now.
They just added Emmanuel Sanders.
He was the best wide receiver in the game at Michael Thomas.
You know well, Alvin Camaro get paid.
They probably want to keep him in New Orleans.
He's a type of coach that will probably want to keep this offense of unit together.
Keep them going.
Question marks is a tight end position.
Yes, Can Jared Cook sustain his his that dominance, but his decent performance going forward? Probably Probably not the probably address that in the draft, though.
So Brady freeze, most likely going to stay for next year.
Not be the first ones to retire, Most likely gonna be Rivers or Ross's burger.
