Hey, what's up? Everyone in court here that summer pro us and just checking in with You Guys is 11.
15 PM in Perth, Australia, on Thursday night.
Uh, just wanted to check in with you guys.
Seen a lot of stuff on Twitter in regards to quarterbacks, especially Cam Newton and Dak Prescott.
Um, there's also a little bit of free agent news on the horizon as well.
There's not tons that came out in the last few days, but endemic in soo did re sign with the Buccaneers for eight million.
That's a good pickup for them.
He did a very good job last year.
The books have one of the best run defense is in the league.
Um, and I think there were there were definitely top 10.
They might have been top five in DV away last year as a unit.
So, um, definitely take that.
I mean, they gotta be thrilled getting in sue back at Ah, nice price tag.
So, um, other than that, like just Cody Lattimore, signing at the Redskins means nothing really fancy wise or team wise.
Michael brokers, um, have not announced his contract with Ravens yet because of ah because of physical bomb.
Belle signed us three year contract with the Saints.
Not a Terry Po was good pick up by the Cowboys.
They signed him.
So we're just kind of the runaround notes.
Obviously, the trick William saga continues for another year, which is an issue.
Um, man, he's gonna be very upset.
And the Bengals have talked about keeping Andy Dalton around for the 2020 season.
Um, which you know, would be, I guess, a little bit catastrophic for his it from his point of view.
But the real reason I wanted to have this talk today and do this dream was because I've been seeing so much back and forth on Cam and Dak, Uh, just give mine perspective out there.
Um, those that Nomi from under Wraps Sports Network will know I'm a camp supporter.
Um, there's nothing that man hasn't done for the Carolina Panthers, and for them to just do what they did, Um, just was really, um, I guess not very classy the way they handled it, however, that going forward, I think this is a tremendous opportunity for Cam to show the rest of the league what he's capable of knowing issue with that is there's not tons of landing spots for him.
I mean, I mean, you got like, the Dolphins you got, and these spots aren't like there's nothing.
There's been no talk, really whatsoever where he might end up.
Um, Patriots are don't seem that interested, Which is fair enough.
Um, and the Chargers said they don't want to sign a veteran.
Um, I mean, you look at the Dolphins you're looking at.
I mean, ideally, the place was for the Bears, but apparently bears and not want to pay the price off signing Camryn been trading for him That killer wanted.
Um, so it's real slim pickings for Cam Newton.
At the moment, I just really hope he gets another chance to show what he's capable of at red, white and blue socks.
What's up? Um, if that's in New England, like where my very team is or somewhere else, I think the guy's totally capable.
Um and I mean, this guy always gets pink for his completion percentage yet, you know, we got guys running around the Internet right now telling us how good Josh a linens and blah blah, blah, and he doesn't have a better complete completion percentage in Cam does Cam.
6 Career passing percentage.
Over 29,000 yards.
Passing 182 touchdowns, only 108 interceptions.
Um, this guy is just a game after game after game showed up for Carolina.
Obviously his M V P season, which is back in 2015 now, um, was remarkable.
Um, obviously unsustainable to come back and do exactly the same thing you did before.
Ah, he came back in 2017 at 3300 yards passing, Um, and he ended up with in that year.
Sorry to down 16 and 3500 yards passing.
19 touchdowns down 17 33 100 years. 22 touchdowns.
And that was on 59% passing in 2018.
So he was getting better Is your 29 season.
3300 and 95 yards passing.
He only played 14 games that year, so I hear all the time that Cameron is, um, injury prone.
He played 16 games first year, 16 games, a second near 16 games.
His third year, 14 games, fourth year, 16 games 15 16 14 2 That doesn't sound like someone that's injury prone to me.
Yes, he's got banged up last couple seasons.
Um, yes, he tried to play through that Ah, both in 2018 towards the end of that season, and he's still through versus 7% completion rate, Um, and still had a 5.
1% TD percentages.
Well, um, I just think this guy deserves a chance to be a starter starting quarterback in the league.
Um, I don't understand the hate and so on, so forth with Kim in, like, yes, so what? He's brash.
Everyone likes that stuff everyone likes when people are themselves on the field, you know, people get stale and upset.
You know, you win people in Belle Check or a Patriot goes up to the mic, and they say, You know, classic coachspeak and blah, blah, blah and don't show any emotion.
But then when we get a player that does show emotion, um and you know, just plays with flair and stuff like that, then we criticize them.
I just I don't get it.
I don't get why we go back and forth on this stuff like that So, um, I definitely think that he deserves another shot and just I don't know if you guys follow on Twitter.
Um, Warren Sharp, who's ah, ****ytics guru.
He had some very interesting stats in regards to Cam Newton.
Hey, I'd love to say, Oh, he had a few tweets to say.
About what? What He thought of Kim in the situation going down in that in Carolina.
Um, obviously with Cam, he probably is the greatest running quarterback so far.
I mean, I know Lamar Jackson, um, has done a great job.
He did a great job last year running for 1212 100 yards.
Um, but I mean, as far as I go line back like Cam Newton's touchdowns are just, you know, second and none like no one's running the ball in into the end zone like he was early in his career and pretty much throughout his career.
So especially in Carolina, I mean, he was the main goal line back for them.
So in his seven full seasons since his rookie deal, Cam Newton has started at least 14 games in all seven seasons, one of six that's one of six quarterbacks couldn't say that, um through less than 17 interceptions in all seven seasons.
He's one of five key bees that can say that ran for 300 plus yards in all seven seasons.
He's the only Q B to ever do that ever, ever, ever, ever, and 150 plus past TDs and 40 plus rush TDs on Lee quarterback ever.
So this is what we're talking about.
He's all time great all time, great quarterback.
Whether you think he is inconsistent or inaccurate or injury prone, he is one of the best to do it.
Um, in the last seven years, only six Q B's in NFL history posted 18 plus, passing TDs in four plus rushing TDs for three consecutive years.
The only Q B to do it at least four consecutive years was Cam Newton.
All right, so get that.
Just imagine that the only Q B to pass for 18 touchdowns and run for four touchdowns.
Time only quarterback to do that in four consecutive years was Cam and Cam did it for eight straight years.
Eight straight every year is a rookie, so 2018.
Before his injury in 2019 he did it for eight straight years.
So you guys can hold, you know, all the animosity and everything that you guys have against Cam.
And you need to put that somewhere else because that guy has definitely, you know, given his all to that franchise, he's going to give his all.
So whatever franchise he ends up on, and I wish him all the best going forward.
And that's not to mention, you know, the weapons and things that they put around him the last eight seasons.
Who have they gone out and got other than they got rid of Steve Smith? Um, who they got and get? Um, But this was another good tweet.
After never signing Warren Sharp after never signing a single good wide receiver in free agency while he was there.
Q B The Panthers signed Robbie Anderson the same day they cut Cam Newton.
Previously, the most they ever spent in free agency was on Tampa Bay's Russel Shepard.
3 million a year in 2017 so that's the kind of weapons that the Panthers went out and got for, um Cameron in free agency.
So that's where we're at with cam gonna move on to deck.
You know, I really don't get where the animosity and, uh, hey is coming from.
Maybe it's just because he's a cowboy.
You guys can tell me that at John 84.
What's up? You guys can tell me that I'm not sure where it's coming from.
Um Deck Prescott.
I had a very good season.
Um, probably the second best season right behind Ah, Lamar Jackson last year.
So there's been talk about him getting a new contract of cowboys air opening that up again.
Um, in discussing that currently, his cap charge shows a $26.
8 million cap hit.
Ah, which he hasn't signed yet, So we'll see what happens.
A lot of people are saying like, don't pay Dak Prescott.
Um, you don't deserve it.
Uh, everything else from you know, this and that.
And he doesn't, doesn't it? He has too many weapons around him, you know, That's why succeeding.
I I don't get it like, one minute we say, um, physically, Elliot makes too much money for what he gives the cowboys.
The next minute, we're like, Oh, Dak Prescott.
Um, he's got too many weapons around him.
Um, make up your mind a Mark Cooper.
He's a solid receiver.
Um, often the line's pretty good, but other now where you got Michael Gal? I don't think I don't see much people lying up some Y'all.
Michael Gallop is right now, um, so I just don't understand why the hate towards Dak Prescott, especially after the season that he had last year.
Apparatus fan 30.
What's up on that pace? Me, Austin, What's up? I just don't get Can you guys help me with this? I don't I don't understand.
Why the hate for Dak Prescott? I really don't.
Um I think he was like I said, probably the second best quarterback in the league last year.
Obviously, my home was banged up.
I'm not saying he's better than the homes.
I'm saying, as far stats go on the way he played, um, that he definitely deserves whatever paychecks coming to him.
Um, and people need to stop freaking out about what Dak Prescott is gonna make because he deserves every last time after the season that he put up last year.
And he's still young.
He's not been in his prime yet not even close.
So for people to be so down on Prescott and saying, you know, he needs everything perfect around him blah, blah, blah.
Um, a lot of quarterbacks would like things perfect around them.
Um, it's not always the case.
If they're capable of putting weapons around them, so be it.
Um, I mean, he's a career 65% passer.
He's thrown for over 15,000 yards already.
I mean, you can't fault the guy.
He had 4th 4900 yards last year in 30 touchdowns on 11 interceptions.
I don't know what you want from him.
Um, I really don't.
I think it's very confusing on the way.
The public's kind of handling the Dak Prescott stuff.
Um, every year he's played 16 games.
So anyone here, you know that he's he's not staying out there.
He's out there every game.
He hasn't thrown more than 13 interceptions yet in a season.
Um, he's thrown, you know, 23 touchdowns his first year, 20 to 20 to 30.
He's getting better.
His completion percentage, 67 60 to 67 65 so very competent, very accurate with the ball.
Um, you know, I think he can run as well.
So it's not like he's just, um just a statue back there.
He can take off and do a little bit on the ground as well.
He's not Lamar Jackson.
I didn't tell you was, but he can.
He's not just gonna sit back there and you don't just take hit after hit after hit.
Um, he's done a really good job.
Rushing wise, he's no.
He's ran for 282 3 57 305 to 77 6 touchdown, 66 in three.
So, as far as like a fantasy asset, Definitely, he's Abi.
I don't know if anyone's selling, but you're buying that up all day long.
Um, and then as a real real life quarterback, I don't understand what is there not to like.
Um, he's been super consistent over the last four years.
Obviously, the Cowboys haven't been great as a team, but I don't understand what other than that if you're gonna fault him for wins and losses, so be it.
But I don't see how you can fault him for what he's produced on the field.
So, um, I can I like Dak.
Both of them, I hope.
Both of whom have good seasons.
I hope Cam finds a landing spot.
Um, I just Yeah, I just want to get that off my chest.
Hopefully, you guys enjoyed it.
Um, I really appreciate you guys time, and I gotta talk to you guys soon.
