the following takes place between 8 a.m.
Good morning, everybody.
And welcome to F P C radio alive.
It is Wednesday does March the 25th 2000 and 20.
And that right there is the sound of no sports going on.
Still, we are about 12 days deep into this.
Ah, nothing happening phase.
Ah, Although we we were fortunate enough to get a little bit of ah respite from that because of Ah, some exciting NFL free agency news.
Of course, Mike and I, my co host, have talked about that at nauseum.
So we're excited to bring in this week or today our good buddy Kyle Center.
He has R f P C packers and fantasy football managing editor Kyle.
How are we doing today? Radiant can be with I guess so.
Use your reporting.
I'm taking the time to bargain.
Like so, uh, very, uh, wow.
You know, that's that's the thing.
I'm thinking about it too.
Like you know what? What? Sports books.
What's ah, what things have I put off for a while that I can kind of sneak back into the daily routine.
And I must say, you know, before I forget, that is a fantastic shirt that you have on II.
You know, I I just I'm almost so I'm distracted by it.
I can't even focus because it's such a great shirt, which is available at the full press coverage story.
Could go DSG entry dot coms last full press coverage.
And yes, folks, I know you might be concerned.
You might be concerned that you don't hear Mike's voice.
Don't worry, he will be here in just a few minutes.
He likes to, you know, he likes to make a big scene.
When he shows up, he's he's fashionably late, as always.
But, you know, like I said, he'll be here.
He'll be here, so don't fret.
But no, we're bringing on Kyle because great insight.
We love talking to him.
And, of course, we want to kind of pick someone else's brain about what the hell's going on with in the NFL right now.
Because really, it's the only game in town, literally and figuratively.
So, um, Kyle, it's been interesting few days.
You know, notable players switch teams and I'm ah, holding back some some emotion because I'm still dealing with it myself.
But obviously, I'm talking about DeAndre Hopkins moving from Houston to Arizona.
It was a gut wrenching move that I'm still I'm still just not quite getting over, But no, because you're a yes, that is correct.
If anyone knows me, they know that I I am.
Um, no, I I I'm still trying to figure out how he still has a job, let alone how he got promoted And, uh, how we continues to keep his job.
That that that is a mystery that I just have not figured out yet.
And I don't know if we ever will, but I know what s so real quick before we get Mike on here, because he you know, he's obviously gonna be here in a couple minutes.
You just initial impressions of what you've seen.
What what stood out to you the most in this free agency.
And, uh, if you say Tom Brady, then I'm just gonna cut your mike off.
Well, I think first off was really really ingredients.
You're getting a lot of lot of certain positions.
That's why you see you later in court about Middle Middle.
Their way had Tannehill news pretty early and then her eyes of the off season way handing those things a contract signed this offseason.
So even ah, is that more than Kurt Cousins extension with that count? If you're coming, I think so, Yeah, because hasn't extension like that total for four years.
I think I think 30 seven, he got at, like, 1,000,000 or so he got added to his current contract.
So, like, yeah, so I don't know what the total amount is, but I think that's the new amount.
He's not probably Cousin Junior graph, Correct.
I guess it was about a year contract.
And, uh, for obvious reasons, I'm looking at 22 players, packers, for instance.
But like my identical three year year, $30 million contracts and to play played kind of the opposite.
And there were signs years five get another second.
I couldn't be 88 year years.
Now where is God? I find every year years for the opposite me is This is this is his last day.
They wanted to make this 30 30 right now.
So, uh, you know, Get a year years out of that.
So years for do different.
A lot of that players around.
Familiar your year, Marcus.
Well, very, very finish line.
Linebackers that end.
And then in the fourth quarter back the money that was expected.
And ah, you know, look, I think there's, ah, you know, you're talking about just how things air operating.
Obviously, we're all operating with a little bit different mentality and focus because of everything that's going on.
And of course, that's that's going to affect how some of these, you know, free agency deals get done.
And maybe it was a little bit slower Start outside of the normal, you know, outside of the normal Ah, quick day one or day to signings during that tampering period.
But, I mean, in reality, it's it's, you know, people are starting to gear up towards the draft, and I was I was surprised that there were a lot more shorter deals.
I was also surprised that Amari Cooper got $20 million a year and kind of blew the top off that ah, wide receiver market right away.
But, you know, look, you know if he's your guy. He's your guy.
And for Dallas, Like you know, I felt like he was a pretty big, um, you know, big piece for them to resign.
Obviously, that the NFC is in particular the NFC South.
You mentioned Tom Brady.
I mean, it's just it's not just the boxes.
The Saints adding Emmanuel Sanders to that mix.
Obviously, Carolina's probably the What was that you hear there? Uh, no.
Is there someone else here? Is that I You know? I don't know.
I got between the shadow I was I was going to say it's a very easy way to tell.
All I got to do is play this and just see if I get a response.
Yeah, it's one with one without the hello with hello without getting it great to be back with you on the microphone, my friend. This morning.
You know my guy I started as i e o ugo Ugo just a still frame at the bottom of the screen right now.
He's actually been reduced to actually a very low pixel amount, so I don't even know if you can see him.
But if you're trying to see what is probably the problem again.
Like I said, I like rating.
So we try to keep it.
Ah, a cz appealing to the viewer as possible.
So now that my cameras reduced Ah, bit and Mike is still continuing to be off camera, I think we're gonna be doing pretty pretty good today.
So, um no back to business, Mike.
I know you like to make a fashionably late entrance, as always.
That's, you know, it's just kind of your thing.
You know, you're kind of trying to think you're a big deal and all that I get. I get it. I understand.
I I know you're waiting purposely purposely to come on late.
So again we could focus all the attention on you.
Make sure makes dramatic.
I make a dramatic way to do it on TV.
Well, if I was really, really, uh, thinking clearly, I could have given you some entrance music there, but no, you came across it. We're going to have you.
Um, I joke, I kid, you know, he's really Mr Rhode Island.
Like I said, he's beloved into Northeast.
I mean, he's he's If I if you know, I'm not just saying that.
I think he's probably that the in the most popular and loved person in the Northeastern states of New England.
I appreciate that.
You know, my good buddy.
You know, my good buddy on another one of our Mr Barak was doing down there, he's holding the Yeah, I'm securing the fort right now, buddy, because, uh, who knows what's floating around up there? I'm starting.
I'm thinking we could cut out there. Sorry.
I thought I thought you were done talking, but how foolish of me.
And you never stop talking.
Well, I was I was saying I'm trying Thio not not Hold down the fort more or less secure. Fort.
I'm kind of I'm kind of looking for that whole.
You know, when Springfield got put in a bubble, uh, through The Simpsons movie.
That's kind of what I'm looking for here, But no, seriously, Kyle and I were talking about free agency and some of the have you seen the more notable moves happening, You know, uh, you know, obviously, I think I think current teams, particularly the NFC, is really, um, I don't know, loaded up.
I don't know if that's the right word, but e feel like the embassy is gonna be kind of a knockdown.
So, Kyle, I gotta ask you initial impressions.
Obviously, we have months and I mean, it could be even longer.
Who knows? We have a long time before the actual start of the next season, and there's a lot of team building that goes into it.
But ah, initially, right now, where do you see the Packers in the hierarchy of the NFC? Well, I mean last season.
Well, I mean, last week, James the enemy with 13 and it was really a heavy.
I don't think I don't think I don't think he wants 13 wins.
It seems like you said it does seem a lot of deeply, a lot of detainee.
There's 10 you know, maybe a land 11 playoff legitimate playoff contender I saw.
I still think overall in the conference is there on the conference.
Yeah, the Packers are among the things that that they offer easy, strong playoff, Probably.
Still, I think they're probably still the favorites in the NFC, mostly because the vital because the fighting the fires to be their entire secondary pass rusher Sceviour autocracy without their top receiver.
What, are you seeing? Someone but that so Yeah.
And a lot of people lost a lot of these ringing anyone really bringing on a note of number wise? Receiver wise is the only player they've really going player they brought in for Claire. You're brilliant.
Last year, Braylon at the same place, the same players get the feeling he's kind of the hybrid hybrid running back.
Really, really good after the cash.
We really strong, actually.
Really strong type of player players run the football, someone who could run with the ball.
Oh, yeah, I think the factory to support anything when the disappointed later in the day care again.
I think it'd been again for compete for the top seed in the top seed in the in the corner and they necessarily the same, but they necessarily the favorites to win.
But I would be strong, be strong in California. They're not in the playoffs.
There are layoffs.
If there are like I said, we're going.
We're going to try to be very positive here on this show, optimistic.
But there were they there will be playoffs.
Playoffs? No, no.
Look, I think the Vikings have clearly taken a step back.
I mean, how can you not when you lose.
So so much talent you said, you know, you can argue about If Stefan Diggs was truly the number one, Um, the number one will take a hit without Stefan digs out there.
Let's you know, that's they fed off each other, you know? And then they were able to, uh, produce off one and others abilities and all that, and that's fine.
That happens all, obviously all the time in the NFL, and it's time to adjust.
But I I would say the Vikings are definitely in a worse off situation and they were last year.
And then And then you have the bears.
Um, I mean, they still technically are going well, they have, Mister Frisky.
They have Nicole's.
I don't know how much that really changes things. We'll see.
So, yeah, I mean, I think you're right.
I think the Packers air clearly.
I mean, look, they don't have Jimmy Graham.
That's that's a positive expedition without subtraction right there, because, you know, again, it's It's I always compare it to Ah, you know, those linemen drills where he had a ago big fist pump.
And I just watched on DeLay for a second.
But yeah, I compare it to those times I compare it to those linemen drills where they put like, tennis rackets up to try to emulate J. J.
What? And that that's Jimmy Graham trying to catch a football so you can kind of see how you know how.
You know, that's just not gonna be a successful way to do things.
So I think the Packers are clearly the best team in that division.
And then again, it helps that, you know, the NFC South is really, you know, that you could see potentially three teams that get into the playoffs out of the NFC.
So, um, or they could just beat the hell out of each other off season and have one team kind of kind of playing well towards the end of the year.
I mean that Look, this is this is not gonna be an easy division there.
Obviously, there's a bit of an arms race going on down there, and ah, you know, of course, the in***bent champion, the 13 and three Saints, adding Emmanuel Sanders, I think, is a big deal, especially for the folks out there that will not admit it.
But Drew Brees? Yes, he needs help.
He's not going to get.
I mean, unless you get gets injured again.
And then there's another can of problems.
He's not gonna get five games off to rest, and I think people aren't I haven't ah realized how much of a help that was for him, especially for, you know, Yeah, it was a thumb injury, but you know, he's He was still able to train and rest and, you know, kind of recover because we saw in 2018 towards the end of season, he start toe.
You know, it's kind of fade down the stretch, and, you know, again, that's generally what happens when you get older.
There's obviously some exceptions Tom Brady, but But I think for Saints fans, you want to get him a CZ much rest throughout the season.
It's possible, and look, they have a lot of faith and taste inhale.
I mean, they put a first round tender on Taysom Hill, so I mean again, I they obviously know more than than us about him.
But again, you don't have Teddy Bridgewater there now, too.
Uh, you know, hold down the fort during a five game absence or four game absence.
Because again, if the Saints lose a few of those games, like, you know, a lot of teams do when they have backups, You know, you're talking about a different situation.
So, um, I'll ask you, Mike.
What? I ask Kyle.
Ah, but what What is he initially just like your biggest impression of this free agency? Not necessarily just the free agent signings, but trades and kind of the movement we've seen over the last week or so.
What stuck out to you the most.
The balance of power, that really, really on it last year.
But the balance of power than you can see.
We find about this several some of these to look at some of the teams that have either or dramatically for dramatically and a great example of a bucket.
Here they are, they are a playoff.
I'm not saying that.
I think a lot of described we describe our that our would be more than two women conference about in that conference.
But look at I think you look at the moves that they made you mentioned the data and then sending federal Sanders.
I think that's probably one of those ice treating I've seen so far is that giving Die agrees that inside the red planet has a lot of firsts.
That lady very would be a very difficult time for the well, another to some of the others in the Bears.
And, you know, really know what really know what kind of 1/4 vast.
I'm 1/4 of a system quarterback.
He's gonna be able to see this team.
And this may be the video glasses Illinois self Philip.
So if that's the automatically, they're a little automatically.
You know, You look at that look and I've got a draft pattern right there right there lately.
And they're trying to end when they're showing of the data to make sure that they're wanted forward.
A candidate for a seat.
And don't forget, don't forget, but we're looking here.
We're looking at a calming how that's going to have only one first round get, of course, round by court.
Well, but there are first row buys those those those windows ready for spring winds are gonna be more supremely.
Technically, that would be the following season.
Right more? Um, I just saying, because doesn't this kick in And 2021 Not 2020? No, I think the I think the uh, 2122 2122 21 rule is the 70.
I think that we're pushing for the playoff season this upcoming season.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know right now and see right now, But knowing all intellectual and all in all, actuality is not I do have.
Even if I do have that wrong, it's still trying.
Yes, that's right. Amount.
Amount more association with more than 67.
But in any case, but that assigns a lot.
So yeah, a lot of a lot of a lot of errors, and there I think it's good matchups, particularly in the South.
Well, you know, if the South is still here by the time this season starts, because again, um, yeah, it's, you know, we kind of, you know, make light of the situation, but of course we obviously want everyone stay healthy.
We just, you know, kind of dealing with uncertain.
Oh, you know when things are going to start.
I think the NFL recently basically shut down kind of team facilities and all that yesterday.
I think it was until at least April 8th, when they can evaluate so everyone kind of, you know again is ordered to go work from home.
So again, we don't know how that's ultimately gonna affect how the season stars when training camp in all this.
So we're under the assumption Everything just like the NFL, is that everything is going to start on time in terms of the season.
So, um, it regardless, I mean, even if that does start on time, we still have such a long time to go in the off season.
There's so many more moves.
And, Mike, you can attest to this because, of course, you cover the Patriots as I follow the Patriots and everything like that.
But getting to know some of the Tampa fan base over the course of the last week or so.
They're getting that, ah, sense of trepidation, that sense of fear that they're not doing enough and I'm gonna I'm gonna write something today.
Hopefully, I'm going to get it out today.
I have a few things I'm getting out today, but it's basically going thio, uh, you know, urge them Thio just, you know, have a little bit of patience, because this is a team that, you know, like the Patriots.
And, like other championship teams you're seeing in Kansas City right now is generally they're going to make more of an impact in that secondary.
Free a free agent market.
During you get a little bit closer to the draft, you're gonna, you know, wheel and deal a little bit.
You're gonna find out what teams are losing veterans that aren't necessarily going to be, ah, on the radar right now.
I mean, we've seen it time and time again with the Patriots, where they kind of wait for those cuts later in the summer.
And then they kind of swoop in and take these guys and turn them into productive players.
And, you know, I look, a team's like again, you see the chief's kind of doing the same thing.
They've been relatively quiet.
Um, you know, Tampa, obviously outside of signing Tom Brady you know have been more about taking care of their own, which is which is again, a good thing.
But for everyone paying attention, you think it's not? So, um, I'm excited to see what's gonna happen in the South.
Obviously have a close eye on Tampa and, of course, Brady and everything like that.
But, um, from a, uh, you know what? I'm going to shift gears a little bit.
I'm gonna throw this like I own from a fantasy standpoint, because, you know, we he's got two gloves on here.
He's got the Packers glove and he's got the fantasy football gloves.
So we're gonna kind of bounce ideas off of him.
Um, the NFC South out of any team.
Who do you think stock has gone up the most? This could be quarterback, receiver, running back defense.
Just in general, Who do you thinks like gonna just kind of whatever stock, which which? Which team? Player stream? It doesn't matter.
Like maybe it's a team defense.
Maybe it's a court.
A specific quarterback.
Maybe Mike Evans stock has gone up higher than it was before.
So, well, if anything, I might.
Anything I might breathe stays home Bree is collection of this collection of E.
This is one of the greatest one of the greatest often is receiving capability of this even capabilities.
They had still say They're still say they're missing a runningback.
Ronald Godwin having Evans and O.
Howard to throw you the last time.
I mean Brady's last time race stronger Steve is that strong growth frying rock in his prime? Edelman and Brandon LaFell I don't know.
I didn't in terms of like, you know, we talked with Mike and I have talked about this.
I think both Godwin and ah Evans both graded over 90.
Ah, with pro football focusing again, you can take that with a grain of salt, you know, depending on how you value their grading system.
However, the only other time that Tom Brady has had that was Randy Moss and Wes Welker.
So and they did a little something in 2007.
That was was pretty good.
So I'm not saying that they're going to turn into those two, but yeah, sorry, go ahead and then one year and actually, what's there? I think actually, one receiving their purse, there's we should do their person still on the Panthers.
They're still on the thing.
I've been the last three seasons.
Pieces around the kind of around wonder kind of make it a particular player.
Target targets around success all around you. That's courage.
So you got comes.
Any Bridgewater who comes in and the deep ball isn't that the ball is on his last year, Samuels.
That was kind of operating a deceiver for threat receiver for the pants stretch with everything, and Kyle out really was able to connect with them.
But now they just now they just Yes, Robbie, Robbie And that comes in is the stretcher Kurdistan? You'll turn into his natural position.
And if you don't, and I think if he does that, he and bridge while he and Bridgewater find a connection there.
So I think that really helped us move actually really helps Curtis.
I don't think it really helps.
I don't think it really all the Andersons fantasy Bobby Anderson fantasy stock because I don't think you're gonna see the target's fair question game or in courtesy of a guy.
I actually I actually really like this move for you got a nice chunk of change.
Robbie Anderson I mean, what, 20 million over two years? I could be misremembering this, but I think it was 12 million and guarantees.
So I mean, that's that's that's a good little payday for a guy who was making Ah, I think you made, like, three and 1/2 last year.
You got a nice little, nice little boost.
So unfortunately for him, his dream of playing Ah, would, Tom Brady is obviously not going to come true, although he will be playing against Tom Brady once again twice a year.
So, um yeah, Look, I I agree.
Ah, with everything.
Actually, you just said because again, I like I like the prospects of and I've been a big proponent of Brady not having lost the steps.
So I think you add in thes receivers.
I'm gonna be a I I kind of like Thea DeAndre Swift draft.
If the buckskin somehow pull him off in the second round, I think it would be kind of a perfect ah compliment to what they have now because they need someone who can catch passes out of the backfield in someone who can you know beyond the field and make plays.
And he's a guy who can do that.
And then, you know, again, there's there's like I said the secondary receiver market.
But, um Evans, Godwin, they're gonna produce.
But Brady, you know, again, if if he is still the quarterback, which I believe he is still the quarterback that could make the plays he hasn't lost Ah, big step or anything like that, he his stock's gonna go up for sure.
I think he could push 30 touchdowns just because of the personnel behind them.
I think it's it's and and the way Bruce Arians calls plays, you know, he's he's gonna he's gonna challenge him and put the put the game a little bit on his shoulder and look, I mean, he he threw over 600 passes last year.
Um, I I imagine he's not gonna all of a sudden drop down to 450 especially in this offense.
So I imagine there's gonna be a little bit more production out of that.
So, uh, Mike, you still there, buddy? You know, here I am stuck.
I have to do a health check and buy health.
I mean, the you gotta make sure you gotta make sure the man.
Wait, that's good.
But just like it's like, Oh, well, there he is.
Um, what about you, Michael? We're kind of same question.
Like in terms of stock, you know? Well, actually, I'll ask you specifically.
Ah, Brady stock.
You think it's skyrocketing here? Fantasy Waas fantasy wise.
Fantasy wise, I would say, I know you're not supposed to put it right into these will say that I will say the emotion that most getting that we're getting that we're now from that have someone like that Tom Marino that it now motivated.
Now I think more than ever, how do exactly what he's doing exactly what you're going to be able to d'oh.
And you know, just, you know, just something that I really think it's a really I think so.
Maybe more so great is highly what elevators.
He's dialing numbers.
He's highly motivated, and I think that you take a look at this.
According to you, I think it was putting out putting out here.
You guys got a parent.
It was somebody that I really hope you might be able to find a way to block that back problem that it probably would not bring back.
Bring him back and it doesn't sit right with me.
But I was Well, is it contains ability to make it really Matches really add integrate with girl your swift.
Only that would be an excellent think.
That would be an excellent addition.
Bus team motivated.
Brady is a venture.
The last time engine last time that we granted Override integrated, over 90 grating.
They're great and they did something pretty special, did something pretty special in 2700.
And so I'm not saying that he's going to That requires a great quarterback going back through the years.
It's all about using to talk about that absolutely at the same time and at the same time, he has a lot.
He has a lot I practice and that he had to take a little film.
You don't see a **** or don't see a decline.
I don't feel well, so oh, well, he's not following the ducks out there right now.
He has the rebel skitters Able t catches a prolific and I'm gonna be fertile efficient.
So this year, so yeah, your child fantasy.
I mean, Kyle is more than any of us more than me.
But you know, Larry, I think he's gonna put up a good numbers in Tampa that I like that we might have to get a share.
You might have missed it, Mike, but ah, Kyle did his very guru opposed Very, very statuesque.
You know, maybe we'll put it like a little get a shirt together like that.
I was going to say T shirts.
I was gonna say, Theo, But again, I don't want to jinx Kyle because as I mentioned off the air, I have this horrible, horrible way of just destroying any thing that I put on a T shirt and, uh, you know, for example, like I said, I have Winston Evans 20 shirts up there.
I have Brady Belichick 20 shirts up there.
You know that the list goes on.
Even Antonio Brown shirt.
T say Still, Bowman, on your Pasternak's cast a Mac, you have a T shirt.
As soon as I put that up there this season got canceled.
So and the whole mantra anything is possible, um, is kind of turning into now.
Anything is possible except for the resuming of a NHL season in which the Bruins were by far the best team in the league.
But you know what? We're not We're not going to get into that.
I don't want to get and actually know what.
I don't want to get angry.
I want I want to relax.
There you go, folks.
So there you go.
Right here on the radio, Lively for all of the problems.
All of the problems right now.
Right now it's that and we'll have that.
Not a g l e n 31 folks.
I value the fall followers and the attention more than the actual vitriol.
I can handle it.
If you want to blame me for point me for it.
The evidence is there for you.
Just go to DSG entry dot com slash full press coverage and see for yourself when I'm talking about folks.
Um, no, I look, uh, there's certainly people to blame for certain things.
And I think one thing that, um, I would do if I were Houston Texans fan and we mentioned this briefly, is I would put all the blame on everything that is wrong with the Texans on Bill O'Brien.
And, um, you know, I'm not gonna harp too much on it because I think people understand my feelings about in, you know, if you listen after the playoff game last year, it was a mass.
I thought he should have lost his job then, but hey, cool.
My, ah, he got promoted.
That's maybe why I'm not an NFL GM, among many other reasons.
But we'll keep it strictly to football here because I think, ah, you know, perhaps it was inevitable that the Andrea Hopkins had to be moved, that there was clearly some sort of disconnect whether is in terms of money or just philosophy or personality.
Um, it just it wasn't ultimately getting to the point where they were going to be able to fix it.
So he had to move.
However, uh, it felt like they got incredibly underwhelming deal.
And to me, I look at Arizona and, like, I mean, they could, you know, I mean, really, if you think about their that their collection of wide receivers, you can make a very strong case that they might have the best unit in the NFL.
I mean, obviously Larry Fitz DeAndre Hopkin.
Uh, and you know Sabella u mass who? Yeah, all right, Yeah.
Ah, but I mean it just again.
It's it's ah, it's a sneaky, scary offensive unit that I think is, you know, just not being talked about a lot.
And again, that's a you know, for a lot of reasons.
There's just, you know, obviously Tom Brady can dominate the headlines in many different ways, and you certainly done that.
But again, they just, you know, they're they're looking like an exciting offense.
They are you guys getting the same vibe and yeah, yeah, just he That's a team I'm gonna wanna watch from both of football and it just a fantasy football standpoint.
Maybe talk about your talk about It's the South and the NFC West right now.
I think it was already the decision was already the best divisional.
Think I don't think I think they know that.
I believe you had seven players.
I mean, if they had seven playoff conference, they had three.
That's seven grand meeting that 70 seed in the NFC.
Probably, uh, probably through this year with that, for I think before I think all 14 chances like that entire.
Did I say that one differences, though I think every team in the NFC South got better.
I don't necessarily think that's the case.
Not yet. Like I like, I think.
San Francisco? Yeah.
I mean, even if they took a step back, they could still be the best of a team in the division.
I'm not saying that that I'm just saying that.
I don't think they've improved and I don't think Los Angeles has necessarily improved.
But he lost some players they want, exactly.
But at the same time, I mean, even even losing those guys, I still think that that's an incredible it.
That's another division where it's like you could get all your playoff teams if it was legitimate.
You get all your playoff teams from those two divisions and, you know, maybe maybe not.
Packers fans might not be happy about that, but, you know, in reality, it could.
It could, Ah, it could make for a very entertaining playoff run.
But that's, you know, this is fantasy and we're talking about here, but yeah, so in, anyways, I guess I guess the you know It's speaking specifically about the Cardinals.
You know, we talk about whose stock rose in the NFC South.
Um, how do you see this impacting DeAndre Hopkins? Now? He saw obviously a large volume of targets with Houston.
And he was the guy in Houston.
Um, you know, Larry Fitz is not Larry Fitz anymore, but he's still I mean, he's still Larry Fitz.
Let's be real about it.
Anytime you doubt what he can produce, he's gonna double that.
So, um, how do you see this impacting DeAndre Hopkins? And you know, how does this, you know, affect the quarterback? Well, I think Well, I think first, not knowing the hell I'm not knowing full offseason, tricky how much time is gonna have to work with Kyle, and he's at Hopkins.
That being said, Hoskins has made it wordy, horrendous quarter.
Pretty horrendous quarterback.
Be with Cuyler, Murray, Skylar, Murray and only entering the second video could be based on pure talent.
Probably it's probably probably it's probably very close, like not very close.
It's clearly Watson and Mary Watson and quarterback.
His two best quarterbacks think it's particularly close out, So I think I already should do.
But one thing I like about those cardinals they actually run, which could help the old, which could help the overall pass attempt a mountain pass attempt.
Carla Marie gonna get more.
How many past times? 542 542.
So with so we can tell you that if you go being trained Larry Fitzgerald over 100 targets gotta think.
Hak, it's coming, I think Hawkins going in.
Those numbers are going down.
Numbers are gonna go down to feet.
Hopkins Otherwise fantasy.
Why Top? Probably talk to wide receiver away this season, Going to redraft redraft perspective.
I don't think that would talk to you dropping out of the top tier completely.
I think I'd rather I think I'd rather have the guys that are quarterback, quarterback year, same quarterback, quarterback's looking Michael Thomas in the Saint with Jones, Jones, Monty, Addio Jones.
Even Julio Jones would have probably taken a receiver otherwise, but after that, Beckham might be moving back.
Might be having no idea what you have no idea what's happening with that.
Maybe Tyree kill 20.
Maybe Hopkins at wide receiver.
I don't know that I got it.
I don't know that I wouldn't go much lower than that.
Look, I think you brought up a good point.
Is like, you know, I think you know a guy of DeAndre Hopkins talents and abilities, you know, it's not gonna take him long to adjust with, ah, other quarterbacks into the mix.
You know, I I you know, for me, I feel like it's going to be a pretty easy transition.
However, you know, when you don't get that normal scheduling, say, ot a czar Ah, postponed or changed.
And maybe it takes you a little bit longer to get into that offseason program.
You know, perhaps that's going to affect how they, you know, obviously start to gel together.
And of course, you know, when it comes to Hopkins, eventually he's going to get it.
So, you know, again, it may just, you know, delay the inevitable, which is, you know, this entire offense shelling, which I think it's going to be because I think they're all very complementary players toe to them.
I mean, Larry Fitz can play inside out, obviously his his size and just is just like you and everything playing him inside and being able to play him off.
I mean, I I mean, it isn't It's enticing, innit? Innit? Great.
Look for Kyler Murray, who is obviously looking to have a solid second season.
It's just again.
You hope that you can get ah, somewhat normal full offseason program in to kind of get him adjusted quickly, because again, there's no up.
There's opportunities in the F.
Um, for the first time in a very long time, there's questions about what New England is.
And again, I'm not one of these people that think that they're gonna fall off.
I'm very excited to see what your it's Tatum has and and see what kind of leaps he makes from year one year to win.
And I mentioned this earlier.
Especially team like the Patriots, who again, who are dealing with with cap issues, given what where they are right now this season? Um, you know, they got to get creative, so they're gonna hit that secondary free agency wave.
They're going to try to build through the draft and make some trade to make Cem.
Cem moves to clear up cap space so we don't really have an idea of what they are yet.
Buffalo certainly looks to have improved greatly.
Uh, the Jets again losing Robbie Anderson, adding Breshad Perriman that, you know, Could it be a washing? I probably It just all kind of depends on who's Sam Darnold is.
Next year you're gonna have a solid 16 full games to to produce and grow and is the Adam Gates is gonna take over.
Is he gonna you know, ah stunk that growth a little bit, we don't know.
So I mean, there are a lot of questions, but for a team like Houston who just kind of again, I I don't know what they're doing.
I feel like they're which, which is kind of, you know, they're wasting to Shawn Watson.
And who knows? I mean, there's rumors out there that it could present other opportunities for him, But look, there's opportunities in the F C.
Kansas City is good. We know Baltimore.
You know, again, I'm assuming New England still gonna be good, and I still I think that they're gonna compete in that division.
This is certainly not a done deal for them.
I mean, that's It's foolish if you think so.
So I guess in the FC who, uh, who's, you know, who's really sticking out to you as as like, you know, that that top tier level of teams Kyle.
And then I'll throw it to Mike because I know he's chomping at the bit to talk.
Well, I I think I think Houston, they weren't that far off.
I mean, they were up 24.
Nothing against the defender of against the Super Bowl champs.
And what did they dio think they can? And they continue to blow it and gotten worst into the point.
I don't think they're the favorite in their own division anymore.
Yeah, I think, uh, even though they lost Jack Conklin that we might talk about that a bit more later.
I still think that's the Titans right now in the in the South.
Um, I really like what Baltimore did.
Not so much we hate to see, but the trades getting coleus.
Campbell, um, you know, a trade with Jacksonville who apparently is deciding to just trade away everybody.
They forgot it was free agency, period and thought it was the trade deadline.
Um, but yes, I think you know Baltimore.
I expect you know them to build on what Mark Jackson did last year.
And, you know, they obviously it came crashing down in the divisional round.
If Jackson is mature enough and that that whole team can move forward from that and learn from that and take things away from that game and improved, that'll really help them, actually, in the long run.
So I would still see Baltimore, who were the number one seed last year in the F C.
Being right up there with the Chiefs is as probably the two favorites in the conference.
Um, in terms of who got better, Really? You know, if the Raiders were going to start Marcus Mariota, I might say him because even with eyes poured quarterback play they got from Derek Carr.
They were a seven and nine team, you know, improve.
You know, just average quarterback play probably would have got them close to a playoff spot.
So I think if Mario taken, go in and win that job, uh, you know, maybe the Raiders pop up.
Um, yeah, you're right, I think. Uh, yeah.
Trying to think.
I guess the bills the Bills are probably right up there.
Next in the conference.
Getting digs will certainly help Josh, Alan and that defense, that secondary still one of the best in the league.
So I think the Bills did a good job of of, ah, you improving themselves.
Yeah, and I guess I'll swing that over to, ah, over to Mike because of being, I guess that's that's the most relevant team to him right now.
In terms of, you know, watching teams grow and improve.
And I do think that Bill's improved.
They've been trending upwards anyways.
And then again, you add another receiver now again, it just like it was last year.
A lot of this falls on Josh Allen's shoulder.
That's why you know, again, the quarterback is the most important position in the in the NFL.
You could put all these players together all these pieces together, But if Josh Allen is is erratic, when he's passing and he can't get the ball to Stefan digs, well, how good stuff on ****s if he's not getting the ball so anything, and I'm not saying that's gonna happen.
I'm just saying, you know, these air, the question mark.
So Mike, what do you think about the Bills and and just the KFC in general? Yeah, I gotta agree with Kyle on a lot of points that he made.
I thought he had some great points.
First of all, with the Bills, you have to admire what they've done this offseason.
And look, Stefan Diggs is going to be the big ticket item that people were gonna remember from their off season.
I think they're most underrated.
Signing this year was resigning Quentin, Spain, on that offensive line.
He brings such an amazing amount of stability.
And he was someone that you know he's not gonna like the world on fire with statistics or with the eye test.
But what he does behind scenes toe add the anchor that they need to add to me is something that I I really I was when I saw that to me and showed me that the bills were hunkering down, keeping the key members in place that they needed to keep and add pieces around it.
And I think they've done that brilliantly.
You mentioned the Baltimore Ravens, Kyle and the trade for Kelly's Campbell and bringing people in that are able to complement what they did last year with Lamar Jackson.
Look, that's a number one.
See, a lot of people forgot that because of their early exit in the playoffs.
But this is a team that's capable of coming right back and showing the same type of dominant spirit that they showed all season long last year, it all begins and ends with the champs.
I mean, Kansas City has not done anything to significantly hinder themselves from being able to ascend to that level again next year.
They still have one of the most prolific offenses in the league.
They still have a much improved defense in a guy that you and I know pretty well on my panel.
Just ah, re upped Thio return to them.
I think a lot of people underrate what he meant to that team. Lis year.
Shortly after the Super Bowl, I read an interview with Steve Spagnola, who just absolutely could not praise panel enough, and it makes you wonder what happened in New England, whether it was just a fish out of water type deal.
But he came in and said that he added so much stability to that Kansas City team, so I really, really like that.
Um, you mentioned the Houston Texans earlier.
Andy and I can't let that statement go by when you said about Bill O'Brien, and you says, That's why I'm not a GM.
Well, all it made me think of was the Seinfeld line where AH Kramer tells Jerry, but he is, and he's the one getting promoted.
Oh, that's that's it.
That's exactly you. Answer the question. There it is.
I mean, he's obviously ascended to that level because he's in that seat.
Um, yeah, The Texans, I think, have taken a major step back, and I agree.
I think that there's probably a question as to whether or not there even the favorites in their own division.
In my mind, I agree with Kyle.
I think it's the Tennessee Titans, So those are the two.
Those are the teams right now to keep your eye on.
I will say that it's folks and of course you knew I was gonna bring it home with this.
If you're sleeping on the New England Patriots and assuming that this team is going to be a cellar dweller this year, don't do it and I'll tell you that don't do it.
I'm not saying pencil them in for the number one seed, because I think that's a very lofty goal.
But this is not gonna be an also ran team that's just gonna roll over and take the lich Kings that everybody is going to give them.
This is not a franchise. The Tanks.
I can tell you there's no tank for Trevor.
There's no loose for Lawrence.
I've spoken to a few people that are close to the organization and off the record, they've basically said that that's completely acid nine.
And I do agree with that.
And I believe it because it's just not in the makeup of its franchise to just roll over, especially when they know that Tom Brady is going to be highly motivated to show them that they made the wrong decision.
Quote unquote by not showing a little bit more urgency and trying to sign him, they're gonna wanna win, and they're gonna want to prove that they can do it.
I think Jared Stadium is the guy I've watched him in practice.
I've seen him in training camp extensively.
We watched him in the preseason.
I like the way he can step up, make throws.
I love the way he is able to read.
Scouts have told me several times that they love the way that he's able to pick up a defense this early in his career.
There's some are mechanics that I'd like to see him work on.
Stepping into his throws a little bit more.
I think it's something that will help him.
Obviously, that seasoning that he's going to need is going to help him out.
I think bringing in Brian Hoyer was a smart move to mentor him and be able to be that type of guy that even if Jared is not ready for prime time when the regular season finally kicks off, if they need to start Brian and a couple of spots starts, he will hand the keys over to Jarrett without making a fuss about it.
And I can't really say that about some of these extracurricular additions that they were talking about, you know, guys like Andy Dalton and even Cam Newton, who I really love for.
Ah, you know, for this team or I really think has a lot left in the tank.
I just don't see the Patriots doing.
First of all, I don't think they have the financial situation to be able to afford him.
And second of all, I just don't think it's the right fit.
So you know there's a lot there.
Watch out for the Los Angeles Chargers, folks.
That's gonna That's gonna raise a lot of eyebrows.
But I really like the addition of column in the tight end position giving him that option with 100 Henry and a too tight end set.
Austin Heckler is an every down back.
He can handle it.
I know they lost Melvin Gordon, but they still have Keenan Allen and that wide receiver corps.
They've got two very good tight ends.
This is still a team that has a great defense.
If you add a Pro Bowl caliber quarterback to that mix, can't, um, this might be a team that might raise some eyebrows.
I'm not saying championship contender, but they may be a spoiler for a lot of people, so keep a sharp eye out for them.
Yeah, I was always ah, you know when I mean I know Anthony Lynn, you know, is obviously big on Tyrod Taylor.
and, uh, you know, it's kind of ah, curious as to why, you know not why, but you know that they really committed to him when? Especially again.
I like that fit for Ah, Cam Newton.
I feel like that is a good, um, place for him to go play and again.
Ah, you know, if I were them, I would seriously consider taking a stab at it, because again, there's talent there.
And I mean, they look, they're still talent out there.
I mean, talk to about 50% of Buccaneers fans, And you think, you know, you know, Jamie's leaving was the worst thing ever.
And look, I think the bucks are better without him, you know, because of the guy that got But that doesn't say, You know, that doesn't mean that Jamis isn't still a capable quarterback.
I mean, yeah, you can talk about the interception totals all you want, but, you know, maybe put him in the right situation.
Maybe a change of scenery is good for him.
Maybe, um, again.
Ah, team like Miami.
I don't You know, there seemed to be married to Ryan Fitzpatrick, but, you know, if I if I was Miami.
Maybe it's a hey, you know what? You know, maybe maybe j Mrs Better.
You know, it gives you a higher ceiling, especially in.
And what you would think could be a pretty wide open a f C east.
Um, And then, of course, Jacksonville.
It's like I think they they like Gardner Menchu.
But, you know, are you Are you Are you, like, 100% sold on Gardner Menchu? You know, as an organization as a fan base, Uh, why not bring in? You know, uh, why not bring in James Winson Or, you know, maybe Cam Newton? I do think Jamis is a better fit in Jacksonville, but, um, So I again, I think there's still a lot of shake up to to be had in this league, and it's even at the quarterback position.
I mean, I think there is talent out there, and I'm I'm with Mike.
I want to see where Cam Newton goes, like maybe in a different universe.
Maybe this is a situation where, like, yeah, it would be nice for the patriots to pick him up and see what he has, but, um, you know, like Mike mentioned the cap situation is not there.
The Patriots have about 25 million and dead money right now.
So $25 million committed two players that aren't going to be there, most of which, being obviously Brady.
And then the Antonio Brown situation is still looming.
And, uh, we'll fire alarm.
So is that you, Mike? You Good.
Now, let's just go.
Just get some stuff on the stove.
Well, you know, don't let your apartment building burned down, please.
Um, but anyway, so, yeah, there's a There's a lot of openness in those that bottom 2/3 of the A F c.
And, um, I'm gonna be interesting to see what how it all unfolds.
And again, there's a lot more intrigue.
But I do think the NFC is the more far more stack division, and I think has the strongest teams.
And I think it's going to be a ah fun exercise the watch.
