This is Alex V from Unwrap Sports here to go and go and break down Episode four of the NFL off season Overview Brought to you by Unwrap Sports Breaking down Day four of the NFL free agency.
Don't worry, once we kind of get through a little bit more of the season, will kind of, ah, alter the names and it'll all not seem so repetitive with the 444 But before I get started, I definitely wanted to let you guys know I'm gonna be doing a couple different Siri's starting in the next couple of weeks, you know, once we get the NFL teams really involved, so you know I'm gonna be doing State of the Steelers.
You know, look out for that.
Hit me with the follows you get the notifications for when those go live.
Definitely hit the search bar type in on U. S.
And we have a wide network of individuals who cover off types of sports.
You know, we were definitely on top of March madness an M B A.
And you know, we'll be here, right? Right here with you going through anything that comes up in the sporting world as we were all starting for any sort of action like the NFL free agency has provided for us so far.
So definitely check that out.
Definitely. Look at that.
Um, and we're gonna be doing an NFL mock draft.
Uh, i'll have some more information for you guys in the next couple of days.
It's gonna be something fun.
We have no 1 to 2 teams assigned to multiple people that are involved with this crap.
It will be, you know, pretty extra in a good way.
So fun, little way of getting some sort of draft content, considering the draft is not going to be, I don't believe it's gonna be screen necessarily.
So it'll be something to watch out for.
But let's just go ahead and jump right in.
Uh, I'm gonna go over through a few key items that I saw a few key topics that I saw that I wanted to talk about.
So Big 11 that I talked about briefly last night, that reports were saying that Darius Slay was going to apologize for that that Darius Slay was in discussion to kind of get some terms going for a three year extension that was agreed to that all went through this morning.
So congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles.
They definitely needed the quarterback position to be addressed this off season. And they did it.
I think big place late definitely has a lot left in the tank types of situations like this where you know you can't get a corner.
That's kind of hitting that, you know, the dreaded 30.
That's one of those ah age marks that's no tend to have a lot of bad connotations with it.
Thank you for joining the Stream Gunners Lover 1 92 Thank you for joining the Stream and a list of thank you for joining Stream as well.
Um, but back to variously, it's it's a deal that, you know, there's gonna be some people that are gonna have their gripes and say, Oh, you know, you might have overpaid for that.
But in my opinion, with how the Eagles were just dismantled through the air this past season, you had to address a secondary.
You know, they made it so it wouldn't be as much of a hit letting Malcolm Jenkins you know, walk.
You know, they got Jalen Mills moving out to safety as well as a possibility.
So Darius late to me was a great signing one that was definitely needed.
Rumors are not kind of circulating that they're gonna look at another player.
Another disgruntled player, for that matter, Janek and Doc Way of the Jaguars, one that I discussed in Episode one of an evolved He's an overview as a player that most likely wouldn't be performing, wouldn't be in uniform for the Jaguars when the season started.
Doesn't look like that's gonna be the case either.
So I think, you know, as things kind of start to heat up in terms of free agency, we're gonna be seeing something along the lines of in God.
Quit going to the Eagles.
I think the Eagles could make a huge jump if they were to getting got away.
You know, they already have Fletcher Cox.
They got jam on Hargrove from the Steelers.
You know, he should be ableto, you know, make a good 12 punch.
You know, they have a strong rotation in the defensive line as it is to get Janek and Doc way a player that you know, a lot of people say benefited from, you know, having Clay's Campbell on the other side getting as much attention as he waas is gonna be in a similar situation as the Eagles defensive line is, you know, a very strong unit.
Um, you know, it was one of the highlights of their defense, you know, last season.
So that definitely is.
But his boding well for the Philadelphia Eagles moving forward.
So I'll be keeping an eye on my notifications in case anything last minute comes through for that, but in God and got away to the Eagles, I think be probably another one of those major deals that could, you know, tilt the NFC East in the Philadelphia direction.
Next play we have is running back. Melvin Gordon.
He, you know, as we all know, was on the charges this past season.
He participate, he did himself.
Ah, he bet on himself kind of doing a holdout to try to, you know, you know, entice the chargers to invest money in him.
Unfortunately for him, Austin, eh, killer, you know, took that advantage of getting that extra playing time and really solidified himself kind of self locked down for a couple of years with the Chargers.
So, uh, Gordon not performing to the level he was before, possibly with, you know, be hold out.
You know, putting a hit on that Gordon is now, you know, dealing with a very lukewarm market doesn't look like anyone's gonna try toe to sign him for anything more than, you know, maybe $89 million a year.
And he was trying to get me anything upwards of, I believe 12.
Uh, if somebody knows anything different, please let me know.
I want to make sure to be accurate, But there's been some rumors going that the Bills and Melvin Gordon have mutual interests.
That to me it was something that Kurt Thomas, sir, somebody from Unwrap Sports Network has mentioned in some previous streams and some previous treats could definitely get more follow.
He said that Melvin Gordon would be a good 12 punch with Singletary.
I have to completely agree.
I think Devon Singletary, although very young, has the potential to be one of those dynamic players.
Maybe not maybe, maybe not a top running back, but one of those great weapons that an offense can kind of utilize.
And I think getting Melvin Gordon gives them another dynamic with that, you know, with their backfield.
You know, both of them have the capabilities of catching it out out of the backfield.
Both have dynamic speed toe to make a difference once they get the ball in space.
So that will be something I'll be looking for.
I think that's probably the best fit for Gordon, especially if you want to do like a one year prove it. Deal.
Being in a system with you know you are, you already have Stefan digs on the outside.
John Brown's John Brown sees me, has proven to be a great caliber receiver, and Beasley is one of those, you know, wily veteran.
So you know, you have quite a bit of talent around you, so that's something to definitely look at.
Uh, I definitely think if I was Gordon's agent to definitely, you know, get something done with Buffalo, the Buffaloes on the on the rice this off season.
And if these looks to be a little bit out for the open, depending on what the Patriots do these next couple of days, next major news head coach Sean Payton of the New Orleans Saints has tested positive for Corona virus.
As far as I'm aware, that is the first NFL related player personnel that has been diagnosed with the Corona virus.
I think it's encouraging, especially for whether it be athletes and n b A celebrities, anything like that, to be open and kind of hope to spell some of the hysteria that kind of comes with, you know, this pandemic that we're going through.
For those of you who are listening here from California, you know, is gone.
There's been some new things going on about, you know, kind of.
Ah, just, uh I don't have the exact Burbage of what? That what? That Ah si Corona virus don't have that in front of me.
But they're You know, a lot of things were changing.
There is a growing fear, You know, there's definitely a lot to be worried about if you're not staying informed and you're not doing your due diligence to kind of get some more info, you know, hearing the things from China.
You know what they went through when they were going through a a e v r.
10. Thank you for joining the Stream.
We've seen kind of, you know what's going on there.
So I think it's great for, you know, athletes, celebrities, you know, people who have a following have a strong platform to be able to say, You know, Hey, I have it.
Here's what I'm going through.
This is kind of what you are going to experience, possibly if you get infected.
And I think this would kind of help, too.
Alleviate some of that stress.
So I applied Sean Payton.
I definitely hope he gets through a speedy recovery with this.
Hopefully, nothing detrimental long term happens with this, so definitely be keeping an eye on that myself.
And any news with any other NFL players will be sure.
Thio players the person.
I'll be sure to let you guys now.
Eso definitely cheers to mean that she was, um, prayers out to Sean Payton and his family as they are going to get through that Yankee Mary 45.
Thank you for joining the Stream.
So we all know that they signed Teddy Bridgewater.
One of the moves that I thought was very smart, you know, as I kind of get to my predraft kind of where I, you know, look at how teams were shaping up.
Obviously, Camden's odd man out in Carolina, Cam Newton, looks like he may be released.
As you know, they're having trouble facilitating trade.
I said yesterday on the on episode three that you know, the Panthers, and I'm sure they had to pull the trigger, make sure they get their guy because, you know, Teddy Bridgewater was gonna be heavily sought after after having ah, strong performance off the bench for New Orleans.
So, you know, if they could have maybe postponed that or maybe try to facilitate a trade sooner and they could have, you know, gotten Cam Newton at about a higher value.
But now that they're having trouble, you know, even moving him and getting, you know, the value that they see fit, they may end up just releasing him because it doesn't, You know, it's not good to just have mom there with that contract.
For those of you listening, let me know if you have an idea where you think Cam Newton should go.
I personally I think best case scenario for him would be to go to possibly New England.
I know that Maybe not one, not an option that a lot of people would consider.
I know, Uh, you know, Jameis Winston might be coming up in that conversation and adult in from the Bangles.
You know, he's expendable on the Cincinnati Roger with Joe Borough looking to take over the reins.
But Cam Newton, I think, you know that gives him a different dynamic.
You know, Belichick.
He's, uh, as far as you know he's showing.
The last 20 years he has been able to get the most out of players Brady hasn't always had, you know, the best weapons in different facets of the offense.
But you know Belichick, with this track record, should be able to, you know, design an offense that gets the best out of Ah, Cam Newton.
And you know, if anybody can kind of put him in a position to better, you know, be a leader and kind of, you know, take that next step in his career, I would say Bill Belichick, So that would be an interesting thing to look at, you know, Obviously the charges were thought of a thought, too, but it looks like they're gonna be going in on a rookie quarterback in the draft.
You know, getting someone in the first round on having Tyrod Taylor just be the bridge between that.
So that will be interesting to see if maybe they extend to get a veteran for maybe a year if they wanted to try to be competitive in that regard.
Next we have James Winston.
I, still a free agent, still has one of the more peculiar records of being the first quarterback with 30 touchdown, 30 interception season.
That, to me, was I couldn't believe it.
It sounded like a baseball statistics.
You know, the 30 30 home runs in stolen bases.
Uh, there's a good chance that unless he's willing to take a back of role, he may not be on an NFL roster of the season.
Depending on you know how he wants to position himself if he's not open to the backup role.
But you know it's tough because I think Jamie's Winston, you know, is A is a good quarterback.
You know, he's very reckless with the ball, you know, he could have had 45 interceptions of that.
I believe that was 13 that were just flat out drop by the defense.
So a lot can be said about his decision making.
But, you know, could a coach be ableto get the best out of him? You know, possibly, You know Bruce Arians was is a great offensive mind.
He was about to go into a second season with James, but with the opportunity to get Tom Brady, You know, not many people are going to turn away a future Hall of first ballot Hall of Famer.
So it's going to be interesting to see if I was him.
I would just kind of accept, like a one or two year deal as a backup, maybe behind somebody you know, who knows? Maybe go on a team friendly deal of Tampa Bay and, you know, try to learn under the tutelage of Tom Brady.
You know Brady Brees.
You know, those are a lot of the older quarterback sent can you know, be a good guide and kind of hoped You bridge yourself between, you know, being good and great.
So I definitely think that's a move that Winston should consider as his market is going to continue to get cold with the draft coming up, Uh, in terms of, ah, in Ah, two releases from the Rams.
One was Clay Matthews linebacker that when I wasn't too surprised.
He missed some time.
And even when he was on the field, he wasn't the same old, you know, pass rushing self.
He was from years ago on the Packers.
You know, he's been kind of on a steady decline, but I definitely think he could still compete.
There's rumors that he could be going to Cleveland.
Probably a rotational peace, maybe a starting position, but that'll be something interesting to look at.
But, you know, I've seen package players in a petition on Twitter like, Hey, let's get clean Matthews back.
So, you know, maybe it's a reunion to kind of let him do a swan song from Green Bay, so that will be interesting to watch.
Ah, and in major news, this is one of those surprising things that you know.
If this would have been asked to three years ago, everybody would think that you were just totally just talking out of your butt.
Todd Gurley just got released from the Rams.
He is now a free agent.
He was close to having his $10.
5 million bonus lock in.
If he stayed on the roster, Rams decided to go in a different direction.
I know with you know, there are certain their draft capital situation and not having a first round pick this year and next year they need to be kind of not frugal, but keep an eye on how they spend their money.
So Curly was expendable.
You know, he can't a situation where he wasn't producing.
Unfortunately, Ah, whether you know it be scheme, you know, or something concerning his knee.
That's going to be interesting to see.
As you know, it's gonna be tough for, you know, team doctors to be able to look at girlie.
But, you know, I think he'll have some some attention.
I've heard somebody, some people from our staff, Jerry Bailey definitely give him a follow.
Great NFL ****yst.
Right? There was, you know, possibly going to the Steelers.
You know, uh, with, you know, James Connor, kind of showing the injury bug a little bit this past season.
And, you know, we still have many smell, but he's a young guy.
Could be something of interest.
Ah, the Falcons and the Dolphins have both looked at them at Todd Gurley.
There's, you know, a possibility of at one point, you know, probably know the chief's could want to add him.
Make it a 12 punch with Damian Williams since Shady McCoy got released, so it'll not released his contract ended.
So it'll be very interesting to see how the market is for girlie with him being, you know, surprisingly released.
It's it's gonna I don't think we're gonna hear many hard rumors until this upcoming day tomorrow.
But, uh, he did comment on He did tweet out, you know.
****, I got Farnum a day off reference to the movie Friday, and Digs started laughing.
And then Girlie said, like, Oh, what's up with you, like, kind of saying like, Hey, what's up with Buffalo? So could there be interest there? Possibly.
You know, clearly, they're looking into the running back market to Ada's.
That doesn't look like they're going to re sign Frank or, you know, they've been shown interest in Melvin Gordon.
Could could talk to really be an option.
Possibly that would be something that definitely look at quarterback Joe Flacco has been waived by the Broncos and inevitable moves.
They already moved to sign a backup earlier on.
I believe in the first day of free agency.
So for Flacco, he said, he's willing to be a backup quarterback.
So, you know, he should be ableto find something.
You know, within the next couple weeks, I don't think he's gonna be picked up right away.
But he will, you know, get some attention.
As you know, he still has, uh, some mentoring, you know, maybe back up, type of Ah, future.
So that'll be something.
Look at much. Appreciate it.
So let me see what else has come up for anything I missed.
Cornerback Mackenzie Alexander from the Vikings has joined with the Bangles on a one year deal worth $4 million.
Bangles have been making some very interesting moves these last couple of days.
Tight end Logan Thomas agreed to terms with the Redskins as the Redskins officially move, uh, out of the Jordan Reed injury. Bugera.
Very interesting to see how that's going to be working out, but that is it on terms of those free agents, let me see in terms of new So you know, girlie, He's gonna be someone that's gonna be, ah, talking point for the next few days.
Melvin Gordon as well, with everything that's going on.
I mean, girly have four years left on his contract.
So that, to me, was a huge sign as well.
Cowboys agreed to deal with high Clinton Dix Now on yesterday Stream.
You know, I thought he would go back to Chicago, but for him to sign with the Cowboys, that was a major move.
The Cowboys were in on Jamal Adams when he was kind of having describes with the front office.
So that was that's a great move by Dallas, you know, getting a cheaper option there.
Uh, the with talk girlie.
Now there was a note that sleigh actually said that he had, ah dispute with Patricia basically saying that, but just not Patricia, um, we're Slay said it was hard for me to play for him.
I guess Patricia was saying, you know, he's not a part of the upper Ecklie on the corners.
You know that. You know he doesn't.
You shouldn't be working out with some of the elite guys because he's not in that tear It just didn't seem like Patricia was a big fan of sleigh.
And it, you know, definitely was reciprocated.
A slave wasn't a big fan of him.
That was very interesting to see.
As you know, Patricia is definitely getting a lot of his guys from New England onto the roster.
So it's gonna be, you know, interesting to see if maybe possibly there's a situation there where maybe Patricia might be putting himself in a bad spot, Uh, with the way he handles some personality.
So that'll be something to look out for.
And Antonio Brown now.
It was said that Tom Brady had the urge to want to continue to play with Antonio Brown.
He had a short stint with him when they played ah against Miami when he was a part of New England.
But it doesn't look like the Buccaneers are going to add Antonio Brown.
Bruce Arians was a stealer offensive coordinator when Antonio Brown was on the team.
And as we've learned this past season with Antonio Brown situation, you know, uh, he's kind of been a pest to a lot of people in the organization prior to that, so that should be already spells it right there that, you know, I don't doubt Bruce.
Syrians would accept that.
And Bruce Arians could kind of pitch it to Tom Brady, like, Hey, we have Chris. God went.
We have Mike Evans like we have you stacked with playmakers.
We have two great receivers there.
We don't need 1/3 1 which I'm sure you'll probably say something about that, but that will be, ah, something toe look for.
Maybe Brady will try to, you know, use the leverage and probably get them toe move for him.
But I highly doubt it.
Brandon cooks is another ram. It looks to be expendable.
They're looking to trade him.
Uh, you know, it's gonna be interesting to see what his mark it's gonna be.
He's progressively, you know, produced less and less as the seasons have gone on with the Rams.
So definitely something to look at, you know, could maybe the Eagles try to get him on a on a cheaper deal.
Highly doubted, But that'll be something to look at.
And we have suspended Josh Gordon, who has said that he doesn't want to play in 2020 with the marijuana changes in the rules you know, should he should be able to get reinstated.
So that'll be interesting to see as, you know, things they're going to start to move into place for that.
So Josh Gordon could be backing.
Li could be back with Seattle, you know? Definitely think he was, You know, in the midst of having a good chance of, ah, you know, building something there with ah Russell Wilson.
So that was something great to look at, but that is it here, in terms of news and some of the rumors.
Um, yeah, it's It's definitely interesting.
I should have a report, another report, An article written in the next week or so as kind of free agency closes.
We kind of get towards looking at the draft.
So that will be something all kind of breakdown.
Check us out at unwrap sports on Twitter, NFL unwrapped on Twitter and my personal account underscore Alex Valadez.
So definitely check us.

Okay. I'll get you the info.

You know, we're gonna be adding a lot of the possessions that we would have had in this year's draft, too.
But that is it for the stream.
This is NFL off season Overview episode for Alex V from Unwrap Sports.
