if the Philadelphia Eagles are gonna continue slaying the beast, that is big D.
They're gonna need somebody to combat Amari Cooper, and they might have just done it today.
Welcome to Philadelphia.
So, just like that, the Eagles have a true number one corner in the mix.
It's been a while in a long time since.
What? Don't take Samuel a long time ago.
So let's talk about Dairy sleigh.
We're gonna talk about him.
We're also gonna get into some Janek doc wait rooms.
Oh, I'm getting site about that.
If it's true because he's teasing, he's teasing.
You teach the Seahawks in Seattle yesterday.
Now he's He's in Philadelphia today.
Reggie White, Jersey Vulture.
How it Roseman is a vulture.
I know that for sure.
So let's talk about dairy Slate.
First Eagles acquire him for 1/3 and 1/5 round pick.
That's according to ESPN is Adam Schefter.
They bring him in, sign them for a three year, $50 million contract, and his average annual value is now the highest in the NFL, just a tad higher than Byron Jones, who was acquired by Miami a couple days.
So let's let's get into sleigh Now.
To me, I would prefer sleigh over Jones.
I like Byron Jones.
I don't like I don't love Byron.
I don't look so this, like for sleigh.
There's more ball production there.
So you have a guy was gonna play man to man.
He's going to shut you down.
And with Jones, he's gonna shut you down, too.
But it's just not gonna pick the ball office much, and that's what very slick.
So let's look at the highest average annual value now for cornerbacks.
Jones and Jerry Slave now been signed.
6 million for Sleigh Byron Jones, 16.
5 million Xavi and Howard 15.1.
James Bradberry, 14.
5 Patrick Peterson 14 points here a while.
So here are some Nuggets.
Some numbers for dairy slide because the numbers are impressive.
Easy's made the Pro Bowl three times in a row.
Now he does come off a down year for his standards.
He did battle a hamstring injury, heard it against the Eagles, and I believe that was Week three.
And then he played through it.
He missed another game, but you know, to his standards to his standards, it was a down year.
He still made the Pro Bowl, always made the Pro Bowl the last three years, and you look at some of these numbers.
Since 2017 he has the third lowest completion percentage against 51.8%.
Stefan Gilmore's 49.
2% Marlin Humphries 49.
2% also, uh, same as Gilmore.
They are the only ones that are better and 80 to pass breakup since 2015 more than anyone in the league.
So there's that.
I mean, this this is Ah, this is the guy who's gonna make an impact here.
So here's what he's done against the Marquis Cooper in his career.
So Mari Cooper is always diced and sliced.
Philadelphia five games against the Eagles, four touchdowns, 98 yards per game, 64% catch rate, 11.
1 yards per attempt.
But in two games against Detroit, from 12 targets, 21 yards per game, 33% catch rate.
That's going against Jerry sleigh and very sleigh.
There's a pretty good job of shutting him down, as you see.
So this was a problem for the Eagles in the past.
I mean, you get a Marquis Cooper going, you can just throw him up the ball, and that's basically what the offense was.
I mean, I don't have the targets are the numbers in front of me, But the amount of times that he was targeted, when when the Eagles played the Cowboys.
And just remember that game last year in Big D, just just basically throwing him the ball each and every down, almost.
And now that you have Dairy Slay, you can kind of mitigate that.
There's another thing at play here.
So Eagles, defensive line and the pressure getting after the quarterback.
It wasn't the same as it has been in the past, especially the Super Bowl year, where it's relentless.
And not only is the pressure relentless, there's a lot of depth along the defensive line.
Well, the Eagles last year, if you remember Chris Long retired and they traded Michael Bennett's.
All of a sudden they needed some younger guys to step up, and not that they didn't step up.
There was just better talent, and, you know, obviously, when the Eagles won a Super Bowl and you know what they were doing, it in 2018 with defensive line what Michael Bennett was doing.
But what I'm trying to say here is, in the past, the defensive line has been able to mask the deficiencies of the Eagle secondary.
And now that you have Dairy Sleigh and if you bring in the rumored Janek and got away, get into him and temp temporarily, it's all of a sudden you bolster up the defensive line.
You bring depth again to the defensive line.
And not only are you going to be getting after the quarterback like you have a couple of years ago like you were when you were making that run in the playoffs getting to the Super Bowl, you now have dairy sleigh, a legitimate shutdown.
Cool, legitimate number one guy.
And that's exciting because Eagles haven't had that type of corner again since Assad.
They said they tried to get it with non Diaz Amar didn't work out for you.
So there's this history with the Eagle since about honestly, late nineties early, two thousands.
So from that and then the entire decade of the 2000 Z, they had the cornerback position solidified.
You remember Bobby Taylor, Troy, Vincent Early, two thousands.
And then there was this seamless transition because the Eagles had some good drafting a frigate with draft.
That was 2002 or 2003.
And they were able to acquire Lito Sheppard, Sheldon Brown, Michael Lewis all within the 1st 2 rounds and that help get them into the next wave of corners.
But then after that wasn't wasn't too hot for the evil, so they would trade.
They traded for corners and said, Experiment, draft him And it was What was it? What they got. They got Samuel.
Will they? Well, they signed on the Oscar on that.
That didn't work out.
Nom de was a man.
It pressed man Corner and the Eagles were, you know, not doing that with him.
So this goes to something I talked about yesterday on this particular I guess.
I was talking about how, with some particular players, it really is about fit and ski.
And, you know, that's where I was talking about Nick Foles and with Nam the Awesome while the reason why he was a quote unquote bust because he didn't play to his strengths and in Philadelphia.
So you know you have to.
When you bring people in, you have to obviously bring people in who fit the scheme So would slay here.
It'll be interesting to see, because Jim Schwartz last year did mirror the top wide receiver last year at times with the cornerbacks.
And that's something that he didn't always used to do.
Quarterbacks would obviously, you know, they wouldn't play both sides.
Ideally, I would play the other side.
But with Slade here, we'll see if you know Jim Schwartz will let him roam a little bit, Uh, and, you know, going against the mark Cooper.
I mean, you're gonna have to line up against him wherever you go.
So wherever he's lined up, uh, and the other thing here is, you know, talked about it before with pressure.
Next year, you're gonna be able to get after the quarterback a little bit more, and with the ball production that seriously has, you can finally get that uptick in the in the turnover.
So that's something that you wouldn't be getting from.
Byron Jones is consistently and you know Ronald Darby.
I didn't think he was a bad cornerback by any means, But he, you know, he didn't always get He's not gonna get the ball production of a various slept very sleigh.
19 interception in his career.
A supposed to Byron Jonesy family is too.
So this is this is ah, exciting.
If you have the parent come to Philly now, Janek, he's doing a good job off, you know, having fun with his his off season.
You know, we got the Corona virus. We're stuck in quarantine.
So you gotta have some fun somehow.
And Janek is, you know, playing around with the Seattle fans yesterday now is playing around with the Eagles fans.
And I'll tell you what if the Eagles were able to acquire him, I, in my opinion, I believe that he is the most underrated player in the NFL.
I think he's a beast.
He's not even 25 years old.
He's gonna be 25 years old when the season starts.
He's already got 37 a half.
Saxon is his four years in the league.
He had 12 sacks in 2017.
That's when Jaguars went to the A F C championship game.
I think that's what? When you did that you had him supplant.
He was so good that he took over for Dante Fowler.
Dante Fowler, 2015 3rd overall pick and end in Ga.
Quay was 1/3 round pick in 2016 from Merrill, 69 overall.
Always like guys who get picked 69 World, and in my opinion, I think he's better than to Davian Clown.
He's not as good as you Davey on cloudy in the run game.
But what you can do pressuring the quarterback, getting after the quarterback.
He's lightning quick coffee and she Benzie edgy, gets the shoulder deputies balance.
He gets after you in the end.
And the other thing he does is, well, He gets the ball production when he gets after the quarterback.
So again, talking about getting the turnovers up, you bring in sleigh.
That's potentially Maur interceptions.
And then if you get in GAC way, that's potentially more strip *** and you're gonna have him with Fletcher Cox Jovon hard grief and then Brandon Graham.
You can't double team anybody and then we'll see.
You know if if Derek Barnett would stick around all of a sudden you have some depth.
So we'll see what kind of draft compensation would have to be surrendered.
Because I I would love to try and keep the first for the Eagles this year.
Now well, sit, because the Eagle still need to get some weapons offensively, and this is the draft to do it.
It's a loaded, wide receiver, wide receiver class, and the other thing that has really helped the Eagles here is they played the compensation pick game last offseason so well that they now have more ammunition to card players because they had been in the doldrums a little bit.
Because you obviously I had a lot of money tied up two particular players from what he did, you know, uh, with Lane Johnson, Zach Ertz, all those extensions.
But the other thing was, you didn't have to draft pick cap because of the trade up for Carson Wentz.
Well, now that all that has passed and because they were able to play the compensation pick game, they were able to use their draft capital because they had enough to go after somebody like Darius like because not only do you have to go after variously, you all set to pay him well before money was kind of tight.
This year, they have money to spend and dairy slaves feel enough.
So we'll see about Janek and chocolate.
We'll see if he doesn't do come in Philadelphia, because if he does that, that would be on bullet.
So some more stuff here for him.
He's got all right.
So here's this nugget I got for him.
The Jaguars have had 12 defensive touchdown since 2016 and Goku is responsible for five of them.
He's had a pick six, He's returned a fumble for a touchdown and he's had three strip *** and other players which other players have recovered for touch sounds.
So that's a lot of ball production.
That's a lot of good production.
And, you know, if obviously getting pressure after the quarterback getting the rhythm off with the timing of the wide receivers.
I mean, this would be a great guest.
I think he's better than Clowney.
I think he's just one of the most underrated players in the league and I think he's one of the best defense events in the league period.
He's a great edge rusher and if the Eagles can acquire him.
That's a lot of deep penetration into the backfield.
Oh, yeah? All right.
So I Major infect you with Fox Sports to gamble here in Philadelphia.
I'm gonna be live on three if you want to know, and I heart radio and check it out, I heart radio up, stream it Fox force a gambler.

There's my NFL free agency tracker for today talking specifically about the Eagles because they made a big move and they might be making another people's If it happens, we'll see what the draft conflict capital is.
If it happens, that will be a move.
I talk about tomorrow.
So there's my video for today.
I'm out of here.
