The Patriots of franchise tag Joe Tooni The Brown sign.
Austin Hooper The Texans and Bill Brian have lost their freakin mind trading away.
The Dolphins defense has gotten better.
We still have no idea what's gonna happen with Tom Brady.
Kyle Dan Noyes Signs with Dolphins.
What a day during the tampering period.
What's going on, everybody? I hope that you're all doing well on this Monday, March, the 16th 1st day of tampering is the new season is supposed to be on its way on the 18th but I want to start with this before we even get into the show on. Get in anything.
A press release has come out by the NFL.
It came out just as I was getting ready here, and I want to read it, too.
And like an idiot, I just clicked away from it.
Let me just pull it up.
But it looks like the NFL in the n f L P A will be the lane off season program work.
I just had the press release up on my screen and I accidentally clicked away.
And now I cannot read it to you.
And well, this sucks because I had this whole dramatic thing coming up.
First of all, they did make some announcement about the draft and we have draft plans today, but there was released.
It just came out that the NFL in the n f l p A.

Medical advisers We believe this is the appropriate way to protect the health of our players, staff and our communities.

Obviously, that's big news.
It's gonna change how the Patriots can go about, ah, how the Patriot can go about not the pages, the NFL on free agency, how it's affected, how you get players, all that kind of stuff.
There is a lot of things out there, obviously getting people on the same track and all that kind of stuff.
It's, you know, it is what it is.
And I mean, when you look at it all, they shouldn't This shouldn't shock any of us when you see the MBA and the NHL's to spend their seasons.
I was listening to the radio today and ah, I had a couple baseball guys on drama.
Rosie was on there and a couple other guys.
And, um, they're thinking that baseball is not gonna start until January Churchill January till July.
Um, so if that's the case, I mean, we are really looking, you know? Will there be a preseason? Will there be? You know, when does minicamp start? When this training camp start, there's a whole lot of things that football teams are gonna have to prepare for.
But in the meantime, what a day today.
I was actually just on a live stream on, I think, the goal.
The Jets, 24 7 if I'm not mistaken and it's a YouTube channel and Jets talk 24 7 and we were having an a f C East panel.
Unfortunately, the Dolphins guy did not show up.
So it was me to Jets fans in a Bills fan.
So you can imagine how well that went over.
Ah, the Bills fan was hashtag sports was actually a pretty good Ah, pretty good fella.
Um, I am gonna have him here on SportsCastr so we can continue what was turning into a heated Tom Brady debate and to the point that the host on just our 24 7 muted us.
So we will have them on tomorrow.
I will be doing at eight o'clock on YouTube.
I will be doing a collaboration with Master at work to talk about the Patriots.
Talk about the NFL off season so far.
So for those of you who are master at work fans and paid your fans, you can go over there and meet us over there.
So as I was on this stream, the news came out that Kyle Van Noy had signed with the Miami Dolphins, which obviously I mean, I think we all knew that he wasn't coming back to the Patriots, you know, I think that was Ah, we already conceded that point.
Ah, a little while ago, but the dolphins of all teams and it makes sense rejoining Brian Floor as his former defensive coordinator.
I mean, the Dolphins really like they've gone balls out on their defense this year and I'll get a little bit more into that.
Just like when I've talked about Tom Brady leaving the Patriots and that kind of thing, I will absolutely miss Kyle Van Noy.
I hope that he has a fantastic playing career.
I hope that he never gets injured.
I'm glad that he got his money, all that kind of stuff.
You know, Vanoy was came in and impacted this team almost immediately was a part of two Super Bowls.
Absolutely, Kyle there.
No, I wish you the best of luck.
I hope you don't win a game this season, but I wish you the best.
I wish you the best of luck Now.
The big news that came out for the Patriots today was that they used a franchise tag on Joe Tooni.
And I got to tell you when that came out when I was sitting there and I was at work and I clicked on Twitter just to see what was going on, I was absolutely floored for the first time today I did not think about the Corona virus because the Patriots, using the franchise tag on Joe to me, had me shocked, confused, excited, a whole bunch of different things.
I mean, Joe Tooni and Kyle Van Noy were the two guys that I just assumed.
We're off the team.
I was hoping that the Patriots could sign Devin McCourty, which obviously happened.
Ah, yesterday, and then I wanted them to sign on.
Then I wanted them to maybe signed Jamie Collins.
I did not think that there was a chance that Joe Tooni comes back to the team now.
It's gonna cost the pages about 14 mill.
From what I understand, using the franchise tag, there's also not out of the realm of possibility that the Patriots are actually going to turn around and trade him after this.
That's rumors that he could possibly still be traded away.
We saw a whole lot of different sort of things happen today, where the players who were kind of linked to the Patriots players that I think Patriot fans hoped with Bill Belichick, would sign.
Well, they ended up on other teams and I was really waiting here like, you know, Joe Tooni is going to sign some massive deal with with some team somewhere.
But ah, you didn't Maybe staying with the Patriots, at least for now.
And I mean, I think, you know, if I'm looking at this realistically, Bill Belichick, re signing Devin McCourty and re signing Joe Tooni is not indication that they're going on a run A rebuilt.
It tells me that the Patriots are, at least right now trying to give it one more Go.
Now, does he go with Tom Brady or does he go with somebody else? That's still, you know, that's obviously the $100 million question that we won't know the answer till until Tom Brady.
Actually, you know, signs.
A contractor at least agrees in principle.
Somewhere, I've heard lots of things that the Patriots aren't interested.
All this kind of stuff will get more into the brainy thing in a minute.
But, I mean, he's trying, and I'm wondering if Bill Belichick believes his defense is good enough to maybe take him somewhere and he can go away with some sort of, I don't know, mediocre quarterback.
But the latest rumors I'm seen up on Twitter is that marry OTA is gonna sign with the Raiders or they're pretty close to getting a deal done.
Which, of course, changes a lot.
Ah, changes a lot of boat.
How the Patriots go about doing things.
Ah, we heard that.
You know, the Patriots are possibly interested in Marcus Mariota, but if they do sign Mario tha that takes the Raiders right out of the race for Tom Brady.
Now we did hear that it's down to a two team race, the Patriots in Tampa Bay.
The charge is kind of creep back into the conversation today.
I never like I said yesterday in the show.
I didn't know where the L A Chargers went.
I mean, it's not like they've made any big moves or anything of that nature.
I figure they still had to be in the race, but that narrows down the Tom Brady market and I, you know, we're hearing all these different just reports.
You know, Mike Reiss was talking today that, you know, Brady's obviously be more well is going to be welcomed back to Fox Burrow, but he's not really sure if Tom Brady wants to return the Fox burrow we've heard that they're not close to a deal on that kind of thing.
But, I mean, why keep Joe Tooni? Why sign Devin McCourty if you don't feel like the team is good enough that you have the possibility of maybe maybe Tom Brady coming back to the Patriots so again, we're not gonna know.
I always say, I was asked right before I left the Livestream with, um, just talk 24 7 I was asked, Where's Tom Brady gonna sign this year? And I still stick with my guns.
I believe he's going to sign with the Patriots.
I can't imagine Tom Brady playing in a different jersey number two.
I just think it makes the most sense with the teams that are still left in available, maybe outside of the Chargers.
But I mean, the other day, I have no idea.
I have no frigging clue what Tom Brady is going to d'oh and again later on in the show.
I'm gonna go way, way deeper into this, and there's a lot more to talk about now.
Another guy that has been completely and utterly linked with the Patriots was Austin Hooper.
If you want to tell me that there is No There wasn't any tampering before the 16th.
Uh, you'd never convinced me, cause I think a minute and 1/2 after tampering opened up, there was a deal in principle for the Browns in Austin.
Hooper, which you know, of course, is gonna put a lot of people back on the Browns bandwagon, just like we heard last year old B J.
You know, all that kind of stuff.
And now you can add Austin Hooper to it.
Ah, you know, along with Landry and Baker, Mayfield and Nick Chubb and cream hunting, all those kind of guys.
I mean, jeez, they should have an unbelievable offense.
Freddie Kitchens is gone.
I forget their new coach's name, but we'll have to see how much the owner and ****ytics gets in the way.
But it's Ah, yeah, it's It's quite it was quite the story, but of course they're not left.
All right, One of the papers do know.
Now let's be completely and utterly honest, and I think we talked about this a lot.
Austin Hooper was a great thought.
It was, ah, hopeful thought, but I think we knew that he was the patriot gonna get priced out.
I mean, there's no way they could re sign Tom Brady, keep the defense somewhat intact and make Austin Hooper the most payer, the highest paid tight end in the National Football League.
So let's not pretend like like, this was some great shock to us that he didn't sign with the Patriots.
To me, it was a shock that he signed with the Browns.
I don't really know who he was gonna sign with.
I didn't I didn't really think about also without much outside of New England.
But I didn't see him signing with with Cleveland, especially David.
Ooh of, you know, as a tight end there.
That's why I don't know if they're gonna go the too tight and set.
Or does he become available? Because when we look at the other tight and options that are available for the Patriots, we've been talking about hating hers for a long time and how he could possibly be a good trade candidate.
We heard that the Ravens and the Patriots were in conversation with about him, and then when Adam Schefter broke the news today broke the trade alert that Hayden Hearst was heading over to Atlanta.
Kind of broke my heart.
I thought that he would have been a good pickup for the Patriots.
Another one bites the dust that they like to say.
So who's left for the Patriots? Well, you know what the thing was.
This was still a very deep, deep free agency when it comes to tight ends.
And now the guys that are left are exactly the guys who we talked about forever and we talked about the Patriots probably not getting one of the you know, I call it tears.
We we talked about the Patriots not getting a tier one tight end, which would have been Hunter Henry, who I believe in franchise tag by the Chargers and Austin Hooper, who is now gonna be a Cleveland Brown.
We talked about Tyler Eifert, Eric Kobren, those sort of second tier guys, and now I think that the possibility of a trade with the Browns and David a joke who could actually be in the mix and be in the play, first of all, for some reason, as of late, it seems like Bill Belichick is just enamored with Browns players.
I don't know if he's got some bandanna like he wants to show the Cleveland Browns that he can take their players and make them better.
But we have Danny Shelton candy bread a little while ago.
Jason McCord e Josh Gordon.
Kind of Kyle the Illinois or not kind of annoyed Jimmy Collins.
I have no idea what you would offer from Doku, but I don't see why the Browns wouldn't be looking to get something for him, especially after signing Austin, especially after signing Austin Hooper today.
So there's still a lot of options that the Patriots have to go out and get some stuff done and and and find a solid tight end for Brady in free agency.
Or who, let's face it now, whoever's playing quarterback for New England Patriots and then you go into the draft in the draft, somebody Jared, pick me the kid out of Oregon.
You know, Fat Moss something along those lines.
But I gotta ask this question.
We all know that Bill O'Brien.
It's from the Bill Belichick coaching tree.
He's now the general manager of the Texans, but I feel like he just Bill.
Brian wasn't just in Bill Belichick Skoda Tree.
I feel like he fell out of the coaching tree and hit his bloody head like my gosh, DeAndre Hopkins, in my opinion, and I said it last year.
On multiple occasions, you can argue with me.
You can throw other names.
I'll hear you out.
But if he is not the best wide receiver in the league, he's a top three for sure.
An absolute top three, for sure, and you trade him to the heirs are dead to the Arizona Cardinals for David Johnson, and it's not even like this is like a DeAndre.
Hopkins would have cost the Houston $12.
5 million a season.
David Johnson's gonna cost him 11.
I don't even see the trade off, and Texans fans were pest ****ed when they saw that come up.
And they should be.
I mean, to me, this was Bill O'Brien trying to make his best impression of a Bill Belichick move.
I'm gonna move on from you before you're good, but not DeAndre Hopkins, man.
Even Tom Brady had a little bit of carb launching and a little bit of safety come on, man.
I do not understand.
What the hell Bill uprising look, You got rid of cloudy last year, and I was I think there's a Bill O'Brien move, right? It was the taxes, at the very least, use DeAndre Hopkins.
I mean, somebody call about to Shawn Watson.
He may be available.
And as ridiculous as that sounds, if I would have told you yesterday Hey, man, I think that somebody should call the Texans and trade for DeAndre Hopkins.
You all would have told me that I was ridiculous because it would have been a ridiculous thing to say.
Houston thinks they're gonna win with Fuller.
You're my boy, Tyson over masterwork.
He put something up on ah on Twitter today.
And I think you put it up on a story, too, on YouTube.
And it's that even Madden would let the trade happen.
Does Maddon is smart.
You know, Matt in the football game is smart enough to know that that's an idiotic trade.
There's not. You could not.
You could not tell me, but this works.
When I was on Twitter today and I read this from a reporter from ESPN and I thought that this captured her beautifully because here it comes.
Master Mike Meltzer is on ESPN Radio and Mad Dog Sports and he says, quote, violating my own media rule here.
The relationship between Bill Brian and DeAndre Hopkins was not good, and I've heard that from multiple places.
Now I have an opinion on that, but he kind of Mel Ster kind of took out of my mouth when he said, My own take Bill.
Brian hasn't hasn't accomplished enough in his life and football toe have a bad relationship with a tremendous player.
So we had a bad relationship of Clowney, one of his best defensive players.
He had a bad relationship with DeAndre Hopkins, his best one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.
So they bring in David Johnson, who doesn't run between the tackles.
You bring in David Johnson, who's in true, he's, you know, he's an injury away from somewhere.
You had a guy who hasn't had a real productive season since 2016 and you trade it away.
DeAndre Hopkins save a $1,000,000 in salary cap like that was absolutely.
I cannot stress enough the most ridiculous thing.
Then I saw today like I tried to marry Bill Belichick has done some questionable stuff he really has.
We know that, right? We've watched him move on from players that make us go on hell.
But you know what? Like even balance? Jack wouldn't have the balls to pull something like this off.
Would he like, How old's DeAndre Hopkins now? Definitely not past his prime.
Look it up here.
How old's the Audrey Hopkins? The crack research I should have done before I came on on the air.
27 years old, he's 27 years old.
It's gonna be 28 at the start of the football season.
I mean, you got a 28 year old receiver in his prime is a top three in the NFL, and you trade him away for David Freakin Johnson.
Like I don't get it.
I don't I as a football fan.
That move irritated me.
I mean, I got no problems watching Hawkins leave the A F c heading over to the You know I'm heading over to the the NFC.
Now we are gonna have to play Hopkins that believe that the Patriots do play Arizona this year, but we would have to play him against the Texans because we're gonna play the divisional leaders.
So we would have had to see DeAndre Hopkins. Regardless.
I don't get it still to come on dp and Sports talk that they beef.
The Dolphins have made some moves today and their defense has gotten a lot better.
And I had an interesting conversation on that sort of panel.
I was on tonight talking about why they're probably making these moves.
We still have no idea what's happening with Tom Brady, and we kind of talked about on Marcus.
Mario is probably gonna sign with the Chargers are signed with the Raiders.
Well, one of the guys that we talked about a lot was Teddy Bridgewater, but apparently they're in D.
He's in deep talks right now with the Chicago Bears, and I got a couple of the things that I want to share with you.
But before I move on to that, I want to thank everybody on YouTube who came on in and join the live shot tonight.
I hope really appreciate you guys coming in, but this is the time that we have to part ways.
The only way you can watch.
The rest of this show is to come over to SportsCastr.
It is 100% free.
I've left the link in the description of this video.
We're gonna be having a life shot at the end.
It seems to be the chat is rocking tonight.
Everybody's got something to say.
We've had the return of the Ozzie.
And for those of you who don't know what that means, we'll come over the sports guys, check it out if you don't want to.
Don't forget that.
Connect with me on Twitter and Instagram at DPM.
That's at the piano score.
A deep pan merch link is in the description as well.
And yeah, really Picture guys coming in, man, It wasn't for you guys. I were her.
Let's face it, I don't I don't under I don't know why you guys watch me.
Anyways, I always say that I don't understand what you guys watch me anyways.
But YouTube I gotta go.
SportsCastr, Don't go anywhere.
See you as boys guys.
So let's keep this party rolling because There's still a whole lot of stuff to talk about today.
It was it was a pretty crazy day around.
Miami Dolphins Oh, man, my I'm the Miami Dolphins are making some moves, boy.
I mean, they now got Byron Jones, who was the Cowboysbest corner last year, probably one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL.
They're going to sign defensive end Shack Lawson, which is a huge blow to the Buffalo Bills.
And then there's like sign Kyle Van Noy and I mean, you're talking about a coach and Brian Flores.
We all saw what he did with the defense.
We all really like. I mean, look at Super Bowl 53.
We all know what he could do with the defense, but it's funny we had this interesting conversation that we're talking about.
You know how teams are building.
And don't forget, the Dolphins still have like what? Like 1000 picks in the draft.
To try to build this team like they're gonna be ahead of the Jets this year, I guarantee they're gonna be ahead of the New York Jets.
Maybe Buffalo's got a bit of an advantage, but Miami could bump up right to the top immediately.
You know, as the Patriots are starting to fizzle out here and we're gonna have to go through our couple years of pain in the next two years or so, we're next year.
So whatever it may be, I mean, it could be the Dolphins division for a little bit if they could do this properly, but they have to do it right.
I heard they're not interested in two of which I think is ridiculous.
But, you know, whatever it is, what it is, they could do whatever they want.
I mean, adding Jones, Lawson and Van Noy is a huge plate.
But the conversation that we were having on the panel tonight was, Why are we doing it if you look at the bills, if you look at the Patriots, if you look at the Jets, look at the Dolphins.
Three of the four, all of great secondaries.
The Jets are trying to build their secondary.
We had this discussion a lot last year, but how we believe that Bill Belichick constructed the roster, we believe that teams are trying to build, you know, let's face it, whether whether we like it or not, the King of the Hill Right now, the top of the mountain of people sit on the throne or the can city Chiefs and teams are now building their defense is to beat the Chiefs. And this.
I can see this all over the Dolphins.
You don't sign Byron Jones, Shack Lawson and Kyle Van Noy unless you're actually taking a legit run at the Chiefs.
And you think you could be a playoff team this year.
And with good young quarterbacks, all those draft picks with a ton of spending money to play with, I mean, the Dolphins.
It turns around overnight, and it's really interesting, because with the way the salary campus set up this year and going into next year in that kind of thing, there's a very real possibility that we could see teams have Rick instant turnarounds.
After one year, you have one year of pain.
Draft a couple of quarterbacks with this 48 a half percent with his new C B A.
The salary cap is going to just skyrocket next year.
You know, when the Patriots move on for some veterans, McCord, e and all those kind of things and they open up this case.
I mean, we could have one, maybe two bad years, one bad year, one sort of decent year, and we could be back to competitive again.
You know what? Bill Belichick is the master of manipulating the cap.
You know what, these expiring contracts and automatic voids and this and that and signing bonuses.
I mean, he knows how to manipulate the salary cap to get the most out of his players.
And as things continued to advance and and go up, it's gonna be crazy.
But the A F C East, you know, Weakest Division in football.
This is that man.
It's gonna be the legit division going forward.
You can kind of see it happening, you know it is.
I mean, you got to give the Buffalo Bills are a good team now.
It was all gonna lie on the shoulders of Josh out and if he can take another step.
But as I told you guys, I believe that Alan is a better quarterback than Sam Darnold.
I believe that the Bills got next.
Next the Patriots probably the best defense in the A f. C.
I love Singletary great running back.
They got some decent tight ends that they get the most out of.
I mean, there are legit good team.
And with the expanded wild card, it wouldn't actually shock me if we saw three a F C East teams in the playoffs this year.
So I mean, there is a whole lot of things that the Miami Dolphins conduce to get better this year.
I still think the bottom line is gonna be the Jets.
I don't think they're gonna be better.
I told I was on a Jet shows, was on a Jet YouTube channel with Jet fans watching, just ripping the Jets, and I wasn't doing it in a disrespectful way.
I was doing it away.
If I believe that, they're closer to our clothes to rebuild and they are to actually becoming better, and it's it's crazy.
Let's talk about something that you know we haven't had a whole lot of time to talk about over the last couple months, and it's Tom Brady's free agency.
Oh, I don't want to spend that much time talking about Tom Brady, mainly because while we've talked about Tom Brady a lot, but it all started today way.
Still have no idea what the hell Tom Brady's gonna do? We still have no idea who the real front runners are.
I don't care if it betting sites are saying that Tampa Bay is the front runner.
We have zero clue what's going on.
We get conflicting Rip Ports to get Mike Reiss a Navy.
Brady doesn't want to come back to New England.
We've heard it dies, but he wants toe, but he wants toe be a part of it.
And, oh, did we get make chicken vlogs? Breaking more news? Is this two shows in a row that we have breaking news? I trust you, but I always got to confirm it.
The Detroit Lions have signed as per as Ian Rappaport, Maddie Pee in the Detroit Lions.
Have sai and, um, I forget his name now, but the GM is Ah, is a former Patriots.
GM is well or not GM the director of player personnel.
But had they have signed Jamie Collins to a three year contract worth $30 million which includes $18 million guaranteed well Caldera, noi, Jamie Collins gone and Patriot fans actually have the balls to say the Patriots could possibly think about moving on from Dante Hightower.
Get up out of here with this move on from high tower stuff.
I'm jumping ahead here because of this news.
We'll get back to that in a minute or a minute or so, but I'm sure you guys follow Pats, Cap.
If you don't, you gotta follow pads, cap.
I mean, it's the best thing when it comes to that.
This is right now that Dante Hightower's cap number is $12.
4 million dead money is 2.
So have traded. Are released.
The net cap savings would be $9.
This isn't me because it's 54.
If they would have re signed Jamie Collins, I could have accepted it.
Man, I'm always a Patriot fan.
First, I'd be devastated to see my boy Boom leave.
But no Jamie Collins.
Landa Roberts is a free agent right now.
If they traded away Dont'a Hightower, you'd be talking about Guam, Bentley and a bunch of rookies that Brady there.
That balance check would pick up in the draft.
Maybe, um, usually, Callon, maybe you can convert Chase win a ***** into an outside linebacker.
So I mean, it's It's a thing, man.
You can't do it.
You can't If you get rid of High Tower, there's no point of re signing Tom Brady.
Because if you can't stop the run, they're gonna get run all over.
It won't matter what Brady does.
That defense has to be justice solid.
I think what you can do, though, is is you could possibly you could possibly know.
I'm not probably. I think you have to restructure him.
It may get a backloaded deal and try to try to take some pressure off the cap.
But when you do that, I mean about Jack's gonna say, like, 34 million.
It's not gonna be this $9 million say, but I don't think you can't get rid of High Tower, not replace him with somebody more valuable, and you're not gonna find that in the draft or anywhere.
I mean, he's beyond just his play on the field, which you know what at times, he's got weak points.
I don't I hate when he's in coverage.
I think he's way better is an inside guy.
I know they use them outside because they had a land of Robertson's want badly.
But I love him is an inside guy I like him with.
I actually liked him better when he's when he's on the outside, he's got his hand in the dirt and he's almost playing like a defensive end.
But, man, I'm telling you.
With Jamie Collins and Kyle Van Noy both gone, sign the big contracts.
You can't move on from Dante Hightower right now.
If one of those two guys stayed, I could have given up on it, but you extend him.
You try to backloaded save a little bit of cat money, but yeah, I mean, it's an issue.
It's an issue back to the Brady situation.
So reports came out today that Belichick is completely taking the lead on the Brady negotiations, which is different from the past.
Apparently, Robert Kraft had a lot to do with the negotiations, before which I don't know.
I don't know if I believe that.
I don't know if I believe that that craft to or that Bella check, who's been in charge of the team is liking craft, negotiate things.
I always assumed I always assumed it was Nick's Cesario that was actually doing the negotiations and build ballot check was kind of saying to him, Hey, here's what I want to do Things in here is I want to go a probable black.
But what you can see right now is is that there's a lot of of of throwing people under the bus right now.
There's a lot of there is a lot of what's gonna you know.
If Brady leaves, whose fault is it? And you can just see Robert Kraft Stephen Face.
I'm just conceding it over the ballot track, and here we go.
It also Would it surprise you that bill about Jack wanted would want to be directly involved in these kind of negotiations? I mean, why wouldn't he like? This is a big deal.
This is This is your friend.
This is your aging franchise quarterback.
You gave away your future franchise quarterback a couple of years ago to keep this guy.
Now you're in the situation where you need to do something that makes sense for the football team.
Marcus Mariota is off the table.
Looks like Teddy Bridgewater is.
He's talking deeply to the bear, so he could be going to Chicago very soon.
I mean, that market, I mean, unless you're really serious about Andy Dalton on God Help me.
If you're actually serious about Andy Dalton.
I mean, if the Patriots got Andy Dalton hypothetically and won a Super Bowl, I to me that'd be the equivalent of Trent Dilfer winning a Super Bowl with the Ravens.
It really would be.
Is that disrespectful to Dalton? Maybe.
But as far as I'm concerned, Andy Dalton had weapons for a long time, and he completely and just utterly underachieved with them over and over and over again.
And you know what? I'm seeing things here, and you're absolutely right.
Um, maybe they want to go with stadium.
Maybe they want to see what Jared something.
I've always been a believer.
I didn't think Jared Stone could be the start of the New England Patriots, But perhaps Bala check is in a place right now that he thinks, Let's try it.
Or he could re signed Tom Brady.
But the Patriots have, like no salary cap left.
They like 21 point.
I think they like 19 million, and that doesn't include McCord.
Is contract that doesn't include Matthew Slater's contract.
So something's gonna give, and I just don't know where it's gonna happen.
All right, I want to read.
I'm gonna I want to read one more tweet to you guys that got me really fired up today.
This comes from Pats Church.
And if you're on here, Pats Church, I would love love to address this with you.
Jack has shown time and time again that he doesn't care about the fans, Tom Brady's happiness or really anything else for that matter.
And he gets praised for being an A hole sick of it, like at least be a good coach first, mid chick, whatever the hell that means.
Mid check out here punting on fourth and short and gets called a god L.
Well, Brady's offense saved.
This defense is ass in the 1st 5 of them, and I think he's referring to Super Bowls.
Also save them of both giant Super Bowls and Super Bowl 52.
But medic checks defense lost to bump our lost two to bum quarterbacks.
Sad God, that sounds like a Donald Trump tweet.
Anyways, let me talk about a couple.
Let me educate you, young man.
So now I assume that this guy's about 15 16 years old.
That's that's my my take on it.
That's that's That's what I'm thinking right now.
I'm assuming 15 16 years old.
That's that's where we're getting here.
Let me explain something.
New England Patriots in 2001 I guess.
It was 2002 but in 2001 they played the ST Louis Rams in New Orleans.
February 3rd 2002.
The ST Louis Rams had Kurt Warner, Isaac Bruce.
They were known as the greatest show on turf, and the defense gave up 17 points.
Now I have no issue, no issue at all, with you giving credit to Tom Brady.
What I hate hate When Patriot fans try to make a point by dismissing every other thing dismissing Teddy Bruschi and Willie McGinnis, Richard Seymour tries me absolutely insane.
Then they got Carolina.
That was a high scoring game, 32 to 29.
Then they went out to play in Andy Reid in the Eagles.
Donovan McNabb Terrell Owens pages 1 24 to 21.
I think it's a football team.
You could accept your team giving up 21 points.
The game they lost to the Giants that when they lost 17 to 14 it's It's Tom Brady that kept him in that game.
And I'm not even trying to talk smack on Tom Brady here.
But the Giants lost was 17 to 14.
I blame the offensive line for a lot of that game.
That's probably the worst offensive line performance I've ever seen in my entire life.
But you're going to say that Belichick lost 17 to 14 and Brady kept him in that game.
Come on, See, this is ridiculous.
The nuance of the Giants 21 to 17.
Let's not forget both those giant games.
You had the helmet catch.
You gotta play when the whistles have been blown dead and, man, he should have been sacked and none of that ever happens.
You had an unbelievable catch in the next Super Bowl that they lost New England.
Seattle man, that was Brady, down by 10 brought him back.
I get the Butler interception.
But while that was Brady, 34 to 28 Brady, 13 to 3 13 to 3 is not Tom Brady.
I am so sick of the brainy versus Ballot Shack debate.
I am so sick of people pinning the two goats against each other.
You have the greatest quarterback to ever play.
You have the greatest coach to ever coach the game.
Cheaters or not, I don't care.
Stop, stop, stop! I think about that.
That eagle Super Bowl.
Rodney Harrison Vince will Fork already listing other guys.
I mean, you're talking all time Patriots, and I see a lot of you guys were agreeing with me.
And I appreciate that.
If Tom Brady leaves the New England Patriots, I'm not going to matter. Tom Brady.
If he feels like he wants to be courted, if he feels like he wants to get paid, if he feels like he wants to be the NFL sweetheart than I tip my hat to you and thank you, Thank you, Thank you for your service.
It's already stays with the pages, Thank you very much, but I'm in no way going to ever say that Bill ballot check 101 100% responsible for the dynasty, and I'm in no way ever going to claim that Tom Brady is 100% responsible for the dynasty and I hear a lot of people say that, you know, like Tom Brady took the Patriots.
Yeah, I remember that.
They were saying that, you know, the Tom Brady took the pages of the dark era that that's not even true.
Tom Brady finish off the job.
Drew Bledsoe took the Patriots out of the dark era.
Brady finished the job.
Don't get me wrong.
Brady finished the job, but Drew Bledsoe man Drew Bledsoe's a popular player.
Drew Bledsoe was probably one of the best draft picks the patrons ever made.
So I mean and you're absolutely right.
Bill 1 11 5 with Matt Cassel.
The Patriots were 11 and five when they won the Super Bowl last year.
Don't forget that, right? Some people we forget that we're live in 549 11 5 right there, 11 and five when they won the Super Bowl night 2018.
So I mean, you know, the difference is just way the league shakes out.
I believe the year that they didn't make the playoffs at 11 5 the charters were eight and eight and made the playoffs in the wild card or as the division winners, you know, If the new playoff rules existed, then the pages probably have been the playoffs that year with Matt Cassel.
And again, I'm not trying to dismiss Tom Brady, not try to dismiss Metal.
I think it's a 50 50 effort, so I don't know now.
They were They were 11 there, 11 and five with same record.
I remember that.
So that's what it is.
All right, guys, I'm gonna think a couple of minutes here, answer some of your questions.
I know that God has been asking a lot.
Um, I know Tyler was asking a bunch of questions and ah, so if you guys wanna like, Ah, hey, Ray, this is a non football related question.
But when do you think the MLB season starts? This season.
I'm hoping May What do you think I heard today on the radio that MLB is not starting till, um, July.
That's what they think.
The two week thing office At the time, they didn't realize.
I mean, look, this whole Corona virus thing is a serious thing, man.
Um, I tried to make light of it on the show because of my one time not to think about it.
I'm gonna be honest, You guys, man, This this thing is freaking me the hell out.
Mentally, it's beating me up.
It's beat me up pretty hard.
Um, it's ah, I never wash my hands Maur and never used too much hand sanitizer.
Um, you know, this this **** is for real, and it's gonna be around for a while. I'm here in MLB.
Could be back in July, but that's where we're at.
Ah, now that Tom is a free agent, he's nothing but a system quarterback.
Narrative has disappeared.
Yeah, it's funny how that all went, how that all disappeared, right? Because the worst nightmare for people who are Brady retractors would be for him to go off in a Super Bowl with another Another coach.
I think that would be my worst nightmare is a Patriot fan.
I don't want to see Tom Brady when a Super Bowl is a charger or a Tampa Bay buccaneer like do you? Are you kidding me? If the Patriots will trade for digs.
So I was thinking about the digs thing today.
To be honest with you, I was I was Ah, I was looking at that and I wanted to put up a stupid gift.
But I'm not like that.
These the Patriots could probably move some draft capital to get him.
My worry is, how do they pay for him? So I'm looking here.
No, it's got a $14.
It the signing bonuses.
Three million's you do 14 minus that you're looking at still on 11,000,011 $140.
5 million contract.
Maybe they could probably take that hit and figure out something again if you could re negotiated Dont'a Hightower that kind of thing.
And ah, but yeah, I mean, there's nothing really you can do with this contract right now.
Still got what? 1212344 seasons.
Lastly, Yeah, your stock with it's gonna cost about 11.
It's going to cost you about 12 next year, 12 the year after, and 12 the year after that.
But after this year, I mean, it's only a $6 million dead cap.
If the moon this year now you could bring him in.
I mean, if you're gonna bring in digs, you can get rid of Mohammed Sunu, right, which will clear up 6.
So, um, that's, you know, that's one of the big things too, right? So you got also look at the corresponding moves.
I wouldn't be prepared to give up Mohammed Sunu right now because the page you know, who are the Patriots going to where the page is gonna do that and Ah, but if you if you can make a move, you can get a guy like digs and yeah, like, absolutely.
Then you can You can make the move, you know, the Brady's ago and would thrive in a system because of his competitiveness and country where screw what anyone else says Absolutely.
Uh, give digs Sam Adams in Boston Red Sox Red Sox tickets to get them.
Joe, That's the problem, given tickets.
No games being played.
I heard I heard that major League baseball could go down to a um, I could go down to an eight game season this year.
That's one of the things that they were talking about.
And as the child slows down, that's my opportunity to say thank you guys.
So much for tuning in tonight.
Thank you SportsCastr for giving me the opportunity to come out here each and every night and talk to pass a nation of football fans from all over the world.
