All right, this is Alex V from unwraps for two to break down the L A.
Wildcats hosting the Tampa Bay Vipers in a Sunday Night Football match up.
It was definitely a game that might have lost some Ah, some fans in the beginning of the game with them going down early on.
But, uh, just overall, I think this the sets of president about what this team can do when they're healthy.
You know, Martez Carter was healthy to play to play in this game.
Trey McBride hasn't had any issues with his hamstring since coming back.
Josh Johnson has been healthy and been completely performing as a top tier quarterback.
You know, in the same breath is like P.
Walker and I am just so impressed by this team.
And you could tell that they do have a strong culture that with the coaching, you know, as was representative in Be, er interview I had with treatment bride earlier.
Definitely check that out on my page.
But yeah, it was one of those games that you know, as as someone who's an avid gamblers myself.
I hate that I didn't think to go just bet on them while they were down big just to see Hey, well could happen.
But let's just go ahead and jump kind of into the second quarter just over, viewing some things that happened.
So in the first quarter and 1/2 they had three lost fumbles.
And you know anybody that you know, watches, football notes.
Those type of those types of turnovers in the early part of the game can really stunt the way a team can get into rhythm.
Kind of get themselves going open up the playbook.
Uh, you know, unfortunately, we weren't able to kind of do that early on.
Hey, man, United or die 69.
Thank you for joining the Stream.
And I think one of the biggest detriments.
So that is that the Wildcats offense is a very, um, they're very They're very slow and getting things going there, typically, like a second quarter second half kind of team.
Typically in what, in this small sample size, we have to go off them on this, but down 24 9 in the second quarter.
And then things start to get interesting, you know, as the turnovers kind of start to haul the defense starts to stiffen up, you know, giving up those 24 points early on and the 1st 2/4 You know, I actually didn't get to watch until the beginning of the second quarter, and that was just blown away.
Like all man, 24 points this early on.
Like, it's gonna be hard to make this a competitive game.
But one of my previous sentiments in a previous episode was the way that the Wildcats defence has really performed well and has given the team, you know, ample opportunities in the last two games to stay in the game.
You know, keep these teams from, you know, blowing the top off.
And, you know, in this game, you know, they were a little bit on the on the vulnerable side with some of those very early onset turnovers.
But, uh, the offense really stepped up and took care of business and kind of helped their end of the bargain the way that the defense held their end of the bargain.
Um, in the last two weeks, what a performance Josh Johnson was really dissecting, You know, this the Tampa Bay Vipers defence.
It was very impressive the way he was kind of moving the ball, you know, involving his tight end, You know, uh, the wild cancer without their number one receiver, Nelson Spruce, who misses second game.
And you can really see that No, Nelson Spruce is such a great town into the receiver position.
I mean, he had 10 plus receptions in Week one and has really been a dominant force when he is able to get on the field.
A za Wildcat fan.
You know, since the start of this year, you know, when they started.
It's been great to see Train McBride's, um, you know, rise since coming off the injury report.
But you know, it's going to be very interesting to see the way that this team and the offense in particular goes moving forward, knowing that Trey McBride's playing this well is the number one guy right now.
Get Nelson Spruce back in there.
You have a really strong dual threat.
Um, but for Josh Johnson, one of the notes I want to talk about over 1000 yards for the season.
He's top five in the XFL interest in ah, in a passing yards, and he didn't play the 1st 2 games probably the first game.
So, you know, that in itself is a testament to kind of the slow buildup that this team has had currently with them being at two and three this game of one and three, they were in a very tough spot.
Everything was falling in their favor, you know? The renegades lost.
Ah, Seattle isn't gonna be.
Believe me, I can double check that.
But when they needed to win this game to have at least a share of 2nd 2nd place to be able to make it to the playoffs.
Now, in the second quarter, Josh Johnson just started to dissect this Viper's defense that had kind of been giving him fits for a little bit, you know, connecting with Brandon Barnes.
Lt's highest rated tight ends prior to the start of the season.
Ah, he was number one consensus in overall.
You know what people were expecting in terms of production? And this was, I believe, his first game with a touchdown.
So it was great to see him, you know, get involved and have great body control on that touchdown.
You know, side Rashad also had a touchdown in that second quarter, and one of the things I really enjoyed was, you know, Marta's.
Carter had himself a game back in Week three, and you know, he is a very special talent being ableto get down on the ground, get it done on through the air.
And I like that little bit of a trickery play having him run to the outside and then throw the ball out to, ah Brandon Barnes.
And you know, you kind of need to incorporate some kind of gadget plays and kind of keep the defense on their toes.
And I thought that was a great, great play call.
It was a very close play.
Unfortunately, Brandon Barnes hurt his leg on that on that play, but, um, and I believe he was out for the rest of the game.
So that was That was tough.
A very brutal loser starting tight end, um, early on.
But that and then see Daequan Hampton also got in a got into the scoring that second quarter, so they ended the second.
The first half, you know, believe being up by three and the Vipers with a missed field goal prior to the end of the second half.
It was just all the momentum was going the Wildcats way.
You know, you know, this being the last game of the week? The Wildcats, you know, as a team, as a fan base, we all knew that this is the best opportunity to get back in the mix of things because no one's gonna knock down number one right now.
The way they're playing and how many games ahead they are, it's not going to be.
There's not gonna be a dethroning with how short the XFL season was.
So this was a huge, a huge, huge game.
And, you know, as we kind of get to the third quarter, you know, the offense is still playing very well, still putting up a lot of points.
You know, at one point I was like 33 to 27 you know, things got a little interesting near the end where, you know, the Vipers were able to score, but I did want to highlight the defense for the Wildcats.
They had themselves a hell of a performance in that second half.
In particular, you know, the sacks trip and the run from our defensive line.
It was just one of those kind of game changing moments where, you know, the defense turns the offense and it was it was just incredible to watch.
You can see this team is really jelling together, you know, They're, you know, able to put pressure on the quarterback.
They're able to, you know, get the hand on the ball when it's in the air.
It's just been such a great I want to say they perform first quarter, fourth quarter.
It was one of the best transitions I've seen of a team kind of have their back against the wall and be able to, you know, bounce back and, you know, halfway in there, I believe the third quarter there was a verbal altercation between Coach Norm Chow and Josh Johnson.
One of the fun parts about the XFL is that you are able to kind of hear these things and be able to, you know, get it as content and, you know, from what it sounds like, So with with quarterbacks, you're able to hear certain things in your helmet.
You know, when they're calling the play as well as anything else prior to the the Game Club Excuse me the the, uh, go on Lincoln Arena.
But once the clock has to a certain second, you're not able to convey in any other information.
Hey, Annabelle, Thank you for joining Stream.
And with that conflict, the way that it was, you know, spoken.
It's it's one of those things that you know a some of you may may know from watching, you know, any sports, you know, there's gonna be conflict here and there.
But it was one of those moments of, like, transparency where you see, and you're like, you know, hey, it's like there are little bits of conflict.
Hearing they're basically was Josh Johnson was saying was like, Hey, you guys need to stop arguing and complaining up here.
You guys just need to give me the place and and and and just figure it out because you know that the prey But play before that, there was too many men on the field, so there must have been some sort of miscommunication on what play was really gonna be called.
And what was presented on the to the players so that, you know, I'm sure, was frustrating for Josh Johnson.
He is a veteran from the NFL.
So you know, he does know a thing or two about running an offense.
You know his time with the Redskins as well as other teams.
So you know he's not no stranger to being a field general.
But you know what an impressive performance by the Offenses Train McBride got into the end zone twice.
Hey is easily putting himself into contention of the top receivers in the XFL.
Nelson Spruce has really cemented himself as well in those first couple of weeks.
Hope that he's able to come back and perform, you know, post injury Martez.
Carter definitely hope to get more involved in the next game, But you know Brandon Barnes gonna have to wait and see what they say about his knee injury. That could be huge.
As you know, having ah, an aerial option through the tight end position is always major in any level of football, so that's gonna be huge, but definitely with the game in hand up seven.
The Wildcats, you know, the defense was kind of getting on their heels and wow, an interception by one by one of the DBS to end the game was all she wrote.
And what a crazy span of events.
If you're watching that game and you, huh? Remember to hit the money line just for fun and see what could happen.
You probably want a good amount of money.
I'm sure the units were probably in the units.
The the line was probably insane.
So kudos to whoever got that bet in, but yeah, what a huge game for the Wildcats.
And definitely something that they can build off of.
You know, um, this game, really, you know, should kind of put the league on notice.
You know, the Wildcats are better than what the record states.
I'm very impressed by our player quarterback by Josh Johnson.
Even that situation with the offensive coordinator, you know, that's that's, ah, term of I don't want to say that that action was more of a term of leadership more than anything or on example of leadership because you sometimes kind of have toe, you know, put your foot down and say, Hey, we got to do things a little different, you know, whatever the case may be.
So you know, for me, someone who is a huge NFL fan, huge college football fan you know, I like to see, you know, quarterbacks be vocal, being able to kind of commit command everybody and, you know, not be, ah, political dictator, But being able to be expressive and stern on what you are trying to convey.
So I was a huge fan of that moment.
And you know what? Ah, trio of receivers.
Excuse me? Four receivers we have again.
You know, Daequan Hampton got into the action as well.
Side Rashad, Trey McBride.
You can forget about Nelson Spruce.
So moving forward, I think the Wildcats are going to, you know, hopefully start their offense a little faster.
You know, uh, starting the first half with those kind of errors of having fumbles lost hard win games when you kind of, uh, slow yourself down from the get go.
But, you know, this team has a lot of potential to really surprise people down stretch.
It's gonna be a lot of fun to watch, but definitely that Brandon Barnes injury for weeks six is going thio be something to really think about and keep an eye on.
If you do choose to continue following the XFL, it's one of those situations where it didn't look good, the way he couldn't get up and the way extra trainers ran on.
Never a good sign.
Hopefully, all this well, I definitely hope it's a very quick turnaround.
Speedy recovery, health.
It's nothing serious for that.
And, you know, to recap with this defense moving forward, I am very confident with them.
I definitely think the Wildcat defense can really buckle down when they need to.
They really shown that the last three weeks.
Even down 24 points.
They were able to hold him to only 10 points from the second quarter, four minutes and left to the end of the game.
That is impressive by any stretch of the imagination.
Definitely a lot of credit to the head coach, you know, he definitely handled business.
You know, maybe that that questionable decision that you know, a lot of people were confused about about him firing the defensive coordinator after week one.
You know, for all we know, that might have been a catalyst.
You know what changed his defense and no.
Hey, covergirl Thank you for joining the stream.
And it's just one of those things where you know things.
Look kind of weird at the moment.
You know us, his fans, ****ysts.
You know, however you wanna, you know, rate the tag yourself.
We see these situations, we make our assumptions on it.
And, you know, it's very easy to go on the negative side of things.
But, you know, in terms of how it's worked out, you know, it's worked out in the long run.
I definitely am a firm believer in the Wildcats.
I'm definitely going to be submitting my bet for the Wildcats.
How winning the championship? I know palsy, but you know, you don't get a fan.
You don't you don't.
You don't go into fandom going halfway in on your team.
So what a great performance by the L.
They definitely when it gets a team.
The Tambor Vipers, who last week, like I said in a previous stream of Weekly Wildcat, had two runners that went over 100 yards.
So very good job by this team to rally back, being down 24 9 to ultimately win 41 34.
So what a great victory.
Something to definitely build off of.
It's going to be very interesting to see the dynamic of treatment.
Riding Nelson Spruce, together with Josh Johnson, who has been throwing the ball all over the place over 1000 yards again, just wanted to repeat.
That was very impressive after missing a game.
So yet that is it for this stream.
Definitely check me out.
