I'm Matt Williamson with yard Barker here to discuss four quarterbacks veteran quarterbacks.
It could be on the move this off season and an ideal landing spot or a possible landing spot for him.
And I want to start with Philip Rivers.
The rumors air really swirling about Rivers going to the Colts, and I do think this will happen.
I don't know how much he has left, but I do think that behind a very good offensive line in Indy, which the Chargers basically never supplied him with, and the Colts having a lot of cap space, a tonic cap space and a lot of draft capital, including the Redskins early second round pick, they can really improve the offense around Rivers as well as their pass rush.
I think those will be priorities.
I should probably add another receiver of some sword, either in the draft or in free agency.
I think they'll also keep Anthony Castonzo to protect the blind side.
That being said, I wouldn't give up on her set.
I mean, I think Rivers gives them a better chance toe toe win right now, but I don't know that he's.
I think he's past his prime, Teddy Bridgewater.
I'm gonna have him going to the Carolina Panthers, and a big reason for that is I'm not 100% onboard with the notion we've been reading that the Panthers are excited to work with Cam Newton.
I'm not saying they're not.
I'm just thinking that getting heavy work, rumors that Newton could end up in Washington via trade with his old coach and he sees the pass a physical right now.
So I'm also not sold the Bridgewater to starting caliber quarterback.
So I think he might play the Ryan Fitzpatrick type role in Miami this year as a true bridge guide.
No pun intended with Bridgewater, but I think this is a rebuilding team in Carolina.
You could plug him in.
He could still keep them somewhat, you know, competitive.
But I think the Panthers long term situation a quarterback probably comes from next year's draft, and maybe even it's a guy like Lawrence who they could keep in the Carolinas.
I think they're in a real transition stage, and Bridgewater would get him through that while they move on from Newton.
Winston, I'm gonna have him staying with Tampa.
I don't think Tampa's gonna end up with Brady.
They did a lot of good things together last year, and they did a lot of bad things together last year.
And to me, Winston, whether it's Tampa or elsewhere, absolutely has to go somewhere with a running game and like the Chargers with Rivers.
Tampa based on a terrible job of providing that through throughout his entire career, really for Winston and you need to reel him in a little.
You know, I mean a little bit more of a controlled passing game, lessen the degree of difficulty on the called throws and run the football a little bit.
But I think Winston tests the market.
I think the Bucks make a push for Brady and don't get him.
And I think Winston returns on a one or two year deal in Tampa and and then the Bucks go on and dress offensive line and running back and see what they can do with Winston.
Maybe even draft a young quarterback.
Lastly, Marcus Mariota.
I have him going to the Patriots, and that's with or without Tom Brady on board.
If Brady returns, what a great spot for Mario to just to go behind Brady.
No pressure on you.
I think marry OTA has a chance to be.
This year's Ryan Tannehill, you know and brought wouldn't happen in New England, necessarily, but could she a change of scenery and really step up in his new home? But Mario does best when playing on script.
He's kind of a pink by numbers quarterback, and I don't mean that is a negative, because so is Brady, To be honest with you, so marry Yoda and the Patriots system excites me a little bit.
I think that could be quite good.
If Brady returns, you obviously learned a ton from him.
If Brady isn't in the picture, I think marry Yoda would compete with and Andy Dalton, maybe a Derek Carr, somebody like that and see how that goes.
I also think there's hope for Jared.
Stick him in that offense down the road to so don't forget about that name in New England, but by the Patriots quarterback situation especially.
Well, obviously, if Brady doesn't return is super interesting.
So thanks so much.
