What's going on, everybody? It's your boy Ray in Welcome to my little show here called DPMNE Sports Talk Live on SportsCastr The Present and the future of sports blogging.
I've got a busy, busy show.
I'm gonna talk about how the Patriots 2020 starting quarterback will not come out of the 2020 draft.
I will be explaining McKeel Harry's rookie season.
We're gonna look ATT.
Some Patriots news.
They'll keys of the Patriots latest saga.
Bill Belichick and Tom Brady just really need to talk.
Christopher Mason a Mass lives saying that Justin Herbert met with the New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels at the combine, Patrick Morgan is also asking.
Is this the darkest chapter in Patriots history? Post y two K Burn Buckmaster is saying that there's a draft potential look at the Patriots targets who helped or hurt their stock on Sundays on field workouts.
Welcome to the 2020 NFL free agency.
The Bengals used a franchise tag on a J Green.
What are the Patriots going to do now? The Patriots will draft a quarterback regardless of Tom Brady and an NFL news the Redskins are considering drafting to out to compete with Haskins.
The Jaguars have used the tag on the Goku, and I didn't get much more accomplished than that today.
So let's jump right into the show.
Most New England Patriot fans are hoping that when the 2020 NFL season starts, Bill ballot check just keeps it simple.
It has our beloved number 12 behind center, even though there are a lot of rumors floating around that the Patriots haven't shown any interest.
It's been heavily reported by Riel reporters that the Patriots are sitting tight and waiting to see what happens with the proposed collective bargaining agreement.
The current projected salary cap for the 2020 season is $200 million.
But if the NFL P A member's vote yes to the new C B A, then the cap could be seeing increased significantly.
Until that happens, I wouldn't expect much action between Brady and the Patriots.
If Belle check of playing a dangerous game and loses, that would resolve them.
Brady walking away in the Patriots, needing to replace him, according to Jeff, How would the athletic quote short of a collision of unexpected events, the Patriots probably won't be finding their 2020 starting quarterback in the current draft class.
So for the sake of this conversation, let's pretend the worst case scenario happens and Tom Brady signs with either the Las Vegas Raiders, the L A Chargers or the Tennessee Titans.
How believes that Jared Stadium still remains the Patriots best option as the starting quarterback in 2020 than any of the draft options that ballot check could select in April? Quote.
Based on information gathered around the NFL, the 2020 draft class has two solid franchise quarterbacks, Joe Burrow and to attack a Viola, and both are expected to be selected in the first you pics.
It would take an unprecedented trade for the Patriots to move up on the board, hypothetically moving all of their picks in the next two drafts just to get in that range.
End quote after burrow into a Justin Herbert and Jordan Love, or the next two quarterbacks in line.
Depending on the draft class, Sometimes selecting the third best quarterback is a great thing, and a team is getting their franchise quarterback and the Patriots wouldn't need to trade up to get the top to the top five to possibly get a Herbert or Love, but they would still need to trade up to the top 10.
Sorry, they have the traps of the top 10 to get Herbert Love and Herbert apparently, is not a slam dunk. Quote.
Herbert is viewed as the third best quarterback in the class, but there's some debate whether he'll be a franchise piece or a bottom half starter.
The Oregon product has an elite arm, but his mechanics are a bit funky, and he generated a lot of yards through screens and run pass options.
While he's excited some pro style while using executed some pro style looks, it's unclear how ready he'll be to do it in a full time basis at the NFL level without some offensive ingenuity.
Jordan Love, who has been unfairly compared to Patrick My home because of the arm angles he's able to throw the ball, but that's really where the comparison should end. Quote.
He's the hot name in the class and figures to blow up the combine because of his mechanics aren't talent and touch.
Love has made Love was made for this type of atmosphere.
There are concerns beyond that, but teams will have to assess the cir***stances behind them.
Love was much better in 2018 than he was in 2019 when the talent at Utah State was inferior.
Talent evaluators saw love, try to overcompensate by the lack of supporting cast, forced too many passes, leave the pocket too early and try to make plays on his own and open himself up to mistakes.
Love was also bitten by upwards of 80 drops during his two seasons as a starter.
End quote Love could eventually turn into a reliable starter, especially if he played under a coach like Josh McDaniels.
But if the Patriots did select love in this year's draft, the bar should be set very low.
And there should be zero expectations that he'd be the Patriots starter in 2020.
If Brady isn't there now, I would give the Patriots a 50 50 shot of being able to draft love with the 23rd pick.
If love isn't it, Love is selected in the top 20.
I don't think it's worth it for the Patriots to move up.
If Brady did leave the Patriots this year than the Patriot should focus on building their other positions the Patriots can try and sign one of the cheaper veterans available and focus on finding their franchise quarterback next season.
Vala check already made his gamble in 2014 when he drafted Jimmy Garoppolo, and it made sense at the time.
Taking a gamble on a quarterback in 2020 makes zero sense now.
Jake from could be seen as a franchise quarterback, but I'm not entirely sure that he fits into the modern day NFL.
He's a slower, less accurate version of Tom Brady.
With bad mechanics and awful pocket presence, it will take a well it will take long, for from to develop into a starting quarterback, if he ever does.
And he's just not worth the risk for the Patriots right now.
The issues have been with From's mobility, anticipation, mechanics, arm strength, pocket presents, scrambling ability and accuracy with the deep ball.
That's quite a list, aside from the mobility and a degree of arm strength.
Most of that can be corrected with the right coaching, but it's going to take some time.
Are the positive traits work the 23rd pick in subsequent patients? That's a lot to ask unless the Patriots bull truly believe from has franchise potential Jacob Easton in jail and hurts air solid options.
And there have been rumors floating around that the Patriots are interested in drafting season.
But like Jordan love, neither candidate would be ready to start for the Patriots and 2020.
How the Patriots address the quarterback situation if Tom Brady leaves comes down to one of two factors.
If Belichick drafts a quarterback, then he has to sign a veteran.
A rookie can't sit behind Jared Stadium and learn if the Patriots don't think the future's in the draft, then they could still sign a veteran that they think and compete with the Patriots.
Or they could run with Jared Steinem.
Regardless of what happens in the draft, the Patriots best option for 2020 is re signing Tom Brady.
Whether they find their quarterback of the future.
That's really a wait and see.
But if we are to follow the same line of thinking of Jeff, how we definitely won't be seen a 2020 draft prospect starting with the Patriots.

You got to come over to SportsCastr Tyson, and I aren't doing anything yet.
Well, maybe around draft time, he's focused on basketball right now.
I started putting on a Celtic videos.
He's also a very, very busy man s.
So I'll probably be I touched base with him on Saturday or Sunday.
Him and I had a little chat over Twitter on D M s, so I'm probably touch base and then he's one of my favorite YouTubers is.
You guys all know when I love love, um, doing collaborations with him.
He's probably one of the best guys to collaborate with.
I mean, him and I can go for like, now we try to cut it off in an hour, but him and I could just wrap.
I mean, if you remember, like our Super Bowl previews last year, we could rap for, like, two hours straight nonstop.
Just having a great time in him, and I just click creatively when we're together.
All right, I want to move on now to my stories, and we're gonna be explaining the keel Harry's rookie season.
Now I'd be lying if I said I was disappointed if I wasn't disappointed in New England.
Patriots 2019 1st round draft pick McKeel Harry's rookie season.
The best way to describe his first year in the NFL would probably be underwhelming and, believe it or not, Harry actually became a topic of conversation at the 2020 NFL combine with the Las Vegas Raiders general manager Mike Mayock giving his insight on what happened to Harry in 2019 and Harry's former A s U team mates Brandon Ah Yuk also gave his opinion on Harry.
Now, before we get into what those two guys had to say about Harry, let's take a quick look at his 2019 season.
Things couldn't have started off worse for our young receiver.
He injured himself during training camp, battled his way back to the pre season, and then he re aggravated the injury leading to New Kill Harry, opening up his rookie season on the I R.
He spent two months recovering, and then he finally made his debut for the Patriots against the Philadelphia Eagles on Week 11.
After that, he played in seven straight games, puts a playoff game for the Patriots, and he wasn't able to create much on offense.
His less than spectacular season led to Onley 12 catches on 24 targets from 105 yards.
At no point this season Didn't Akil Harry have more than three catches in a game, or more than 29 receiving yards.
He caught only two touchdowns in his rookie campaign.
One of those two touchdowns came against the Dallas Cowboys and one versus Cincinnati Bengals.
Ultimately, I think we can all agree that McKeel Harry did not live up to the expectations we all had for him when he was drafted.
Now Harry season left Tom Brady growing frustrated with his receiving corps and in particular, his rookie receiver and some people claiming that McKeel Harry was a draft bust.
Look, obviously, only catching 50% of your targets is not going to be enough in the NFL, especially for a first round draft pick.
But according to Henry Makana of Patriots Wire, there could be more Tuna kills.
Harry is 2019 season than just dropped passes in failed expectations.
Nobody let me be clear.
Nobody is making excuses for Harry.
But May Aachen I You could just give us a better insight to what he went through his rookie year.
So at the combine, Mike Mayock was asked about wide receivers in general, transitioning from college to the NFL, and Mayo referenced McKeel Harry a lot during his press conference.
But he also gives us some insight on what the transition looks like for a young receiver.
Great, it's just how much you have to absorb.
I've met with some college wideouts already this year and what they're doing.
Half of them are doing this, turning their head pre snap.
They look over at the sideline.
They have their own individual coach telling them what route to run.
You better get in there in the huddle.
You better learn three positions, not one.
What an NFL coach is asking you to learn is mind boggling.
Now those words from may occur, really telling.
And it's a good example of how complicated the NFL is, even in another professional league, like the XFL coaches arm or hand on with their hands on with their wide receivers during the game in the NFL, coaches air hands off during game play.
I remember finding it very strange when I was watching the XFL game in D C.
Defenders coach Pep Hamilton was speaking directly to wide receivers who were wearing Mike helmets, and he he was telling them what routes to run.
He was also giving instructions.
He was reminding them on trick plays not to move too quickly up the field.
By the time a receiver gets from the NC Double A to the XFL or soon for Earth to the to the XFL finances to the NFL or soon from the XFL to the NFL, they won't have that kind of individual instruction during game play.
So for somebody like McKeel Harry, who's basically learning how to play a wide receiver at proof at the professional level, missing so much time with his team and actually running plays seriously hindered his growth in his rookie season.
Brandon I Yuk was able to give us some more insight because he understands the type of transition to kill Harry had to make.
They played together.
And he explained the difference between the E S U offense, Indiana and an NFL offense.
He said, Quote, We are a signal off in today S U So for Harry going into camp, he was hearing NFL play calls and Burbage for the first time.
So that is one thing I've been working on this offseason.
Even before I go into camp, I just want to get used to hearing it end quote.
I look good on my uke, forgetting himself prepared to enter the NFL.
And maybe that's where we could criticize Harry for not doing the same thing and getting themselves better prepared prior to joining the Patriots.
But when you listen to what May Ock and I yuk had to say, it sort of gives us an explanation of why Harry's progress was so slow as he was trying to acclimatize himself to the Patriots offense and as he was trying to learn that complicated playbook.
Adding to that that the Patriots have one of the most complicated offenses in the National Football League probably didn't help him at all.
And that's why I knew Kiel.
Harry staying healthy this spring and giving himself a good opportunity to work with starters will be crucial to Harry having a bounce back here in this second year in 2020.
Yeah, man, that's kind of where I am right now.
I want to go through the Patriots.
News of the day, the rumors, the opinions, all the crap.
There's a lot of stuff to talk about, so I'm just gonna jump right into it.
I am tired I worked until eight o'clock tonight, came home, basically had a cigarette, and now I'm down here talking to you guys so I can't promise you how long this show is going to go.
But I'm gonna go as fast as I can.
I'm gonna give you as much as I can, but this first article comes from Albert Breer it.
Same The key to the Patriots latest saga Bill Belichick and Tom Brady really need to talk until the quarterback and coach put their cards on the table will be nowhere near a resolution to the NFL's biggest.
Will he or won't he question.
Plus, who came out ahead at the combine other than Jonathan Taylor in the latest on the C B A Tom Brady and Bill ballot check need to talk.
They need to talk for their own good, for the good of the other quarterback on certain teams and for the good of the rest of us, too.
Here at the NFL's annual scouting combine, the convention center hallways, hotel lobbies, city skywalks and barroom corners were a buzz with a simple question.
What is Tom Brady going to do? The 42 year old impending.
The 42 year olds impending free agency swallowed the week's news cycle hole in a way we haven't seen since Peyton Manning was in a slightly different spot eight years ago.
And with good reason.
It's not just the greatest football player of all Time is available.
It's that the fate of the position in a handful of cities outside of the of the region he's called home for 20 years are waiting on him, too.
Where Philip Rivers, Ryan Tannehill, Jamis Winston, Andy Dalton and Marcus Mariota land could be impacted with his decision.
The balance of power in the A F C could also shift.
As a result, this is a big one, and it's likely to come down to something comparatively simple.
A coach in a quarterback sitting down in explaining to one another their positions over the weekend and talking to a number of people involved.
The expectation is that the summit will happen.
There were even some rumblings that it was going to go down yesterday, though as far as I can tell it hasn't happened.
Others expected it might be a little longer, thanks to the uncer*****y of the C B A.
Until it does happen, the results, The resulting void will be filled with lots of noise, some of some that has foundation and some that doesn't.
And so I'll tell you what I know.
My understanding is that Brady is open to returning, returning to the Patriots under certain terms.
Likewise, I've heard Ballot Shack is open to bringing them back under certain terms.
What's left is for the two to sit down and see if one guy's terms can match the other guy's terms.
If that isn't the offing, I think both guys will recognize it and move on.
If it is, I don't think doing the contracting getting Brady back on well back in the fold will be difficult.
So what we've all spent the last week, um, complacent isn't really complicated.
Complicating isn't really complicated at all.
And until that simple discussion happens, it's hard to be definitive because I'm not sure Brady or Bella check themselves, truly know what's going to happen.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm just really kind of tired of hearing about the whole Tom Brady situation altogether, and I'm hoping that this thing could just be solved, finished and through very, very soon.
That's just me, though.
Christopher Mason says that Justin Herbert met with the New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels at the NFL combine, I will tell you I'm taking a deeper dive into this tomorrow.
But here's Mason on this is from Mass live.
This is Ways story.
There's a ton of smoke and mirrors when teams meet with players at the NFL combine.
Ah, lot of the meetings are informal.
Summer Justice, Scouts and teams need to have some measure of due diligence on everybody.
Justin Herbert's meeting with the Patriots sounds like a little bit more than that.
Speaking to Monday morning quarterbacks, Peter King, the organ quarterback, was asked who he met at the combine.
That was impressive and, he said, quote offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels with the Patriots.
He replied that the guy I've always watched always looked up to.
I love their offense.
Four years starter in the Pac 12 Herbert is likely to go in the first round and is the third to fifth quarterback on the board and most mock drafts.
With the 23rd overall selection.
There's no guarantee he'll still be around when the Patriots pick.
But meeting McDaniels seems to signify a genuine curiosity.
The offensive coordinator wouldn't waste his time if there wasn't one.
Herbert put together an excellent season at Oregon, 32 touchdown, six interceptions and capped it off by winning M V P in both the Rose Bowl and the Senior Bowl.
A conventional pocket passer, Herbert would seem, seemed to fit well into the offense.
Tom Brady has held the keys to for the past two decades.
Brady, of course, contest free agency for the time on March 18th.
I'm not going to get too deep into that.
I'm not going to talk much about it because I'm going much, much deeper tomorrow.
And I think that I think that it's it's interesting.
That's an interesting, interesting development that came out today.
And I'll tell you why. Tomorrow.
So you've got to come back.
You gotta watch the show tomorrow.
I promise you, though, you won't you won't regret it.
It's a Patrick Morgan kind of night.
He wrote this article a couple days ago, and I've kind of been waiting to see where I could fit it into the show and I realized it's never going to really have a good transition.
There's never gonna be a good night to read it.
So I'm just gonna read it now.
Is this the darkest chapter in Patriots history? Post y two k, and I'll go through it, but I want to see your guy's comments is as we go along, too.
I'm really interested to see what you guys think about this, but the New England Patriots had a really, really rough go of it.
Since winning their six title in franchise history back in February of 2019 it's important to start off this article with a major cab, yet nobody outside of the New England area or Patriots nation around the world.
It's feeling story for the New England Patriots these days.
That's a sentiment that Patriots players themselves have echoed over recent years, including Tom Brady himself.
Whenever something doesn't break New England's way, whether it's a bad call and unfortunate injury of poorly timed development or even a full series of bad lock like the Miami miracle, the players were the first ones to make public comments. That quote.
No one is gonna feel sorry for the Patriots end quote.
Okay, it's a wise tactic to use.
After all, people feel sorry for the Cleveland Browns, the Detroit Lions, the Buffalo Bills.
Nobody ever sheds tears when climatic TB Oh, Matt Yeah.
Co manatee befalls New England Patriots.
The Dallas Cowboys are the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Generally speaking, America is a nation that loves an underdog.
Despite the irony that America itself, now the world's top dog, has been quiet for some time, it's actually sort of interesting.
It's sort of an interesting parallel with the Patriot themselves who once were the plucky underdog and perennial David going up against Goliath, who now clearly occupied top of the Mount Olympus and have done so for 20 years? All of this being said and acknowledged, it's been a really, really, really rough year for Patriots fans.
And, yes, nobody's going to sympathize or empathize.
And, yes, we still have six shiny Lombardi trophies to catch our tears.
But when you add it all up, there's no denying just how brutal of a gut punch the period of time from March 2019 the March 2020 has been for this franchise.
What's hit all the major bold points below Rob Gronkowski, the greatest non Tom Brady offensive player in the franchise history history and arguably the greatest tight end in NFL history, shocks the world and his team by announcing the surprise early retirement after just nine seasons in the pros.
A massive exodus of coaches and staffers leave the Patriots ranks during the off season, including Brian Flores, Josh Boyce, Chad O'Shea, Brandon Daily and almost Nick Cesario.
Patriots lose several important players in free agency, including Trey Flowers, Trend Brown, Chris Hogan, Cordero Patterson, Malcolm Brown and Adrian Waddle.
Stephen Gostkowski struggles early on in the season before ending up on the i R.
The team flounders trying to find his replacement and Mike Nugent Kai Forbath.
And before settling on Nick Fulton, the street this team struggles to find a tight end.
Sifting through the likes of Austin, Seferian Jenkins, Lance Kendricks, Air Tomlinson and others before setting on the ineffective trio of Ben Watson, Matt Lacoste and Ryan is oh, for most of the year, Antonio Brown gets signed by the team and creates enormous buys of expectation and hype on Lee to get embroiled in further controversy, which eventually leads to his outright release from the team after just one memorable game in the Patriots uniform, and now he's seeking financial damages from New England for earnings.
The team struggles to integrate Michael Bennett on the defensive line, eventually leading to Bennett becoming disgruntled and getting traded to Dallas.
Trade Jacob Hollister to Seattle to only watch the former tight end thrive with the Seahawks and Russell Wilson.
First round draft pick.
McKeel Harry tweaks his ankle during the offseason.
Re interested in preseason and spends the first half of the year on I R Mohammed and new Mohammed.
Sunu is required midseason via trade, hurts his ankle and, well, is ineffective from that point forward as the Pats catcher he now requires off season surgery to repair it.
Left tackle Isaiah Wind misses the first half of the season with turf toe injury.
Julian Andelman battles a litany of injuries all season long, although he still manages to put together a terrific season which obviously which is obviously a positive.
Josh Gordon ends up on the I R with a knee injury, gets released by the team signs with the Seahawks and probably get suspended for the 999th time for substance abuse issues.
Sony Michelle mysteriously underwhelmed for the vast majority of his second season despite being relatively healthy for the first time in his professional career, Tom Brady grows frustrated with his lack of experience and know how amongst this subpart receiving cast throughout the season.
And the offense is the whole struggles.
New England gets embroiled in yet another controversy in scan and scandal.
Sky Spy Gate two point.
Oh, the Patriots go just for and four in the second half of this season, their worst mark in years despite starting the season a perfect eight.
And though New England loses at home to the foreign 11 Miami Dolphins and Week 17 dropping the Patriots seed from number two to number three and costing them a first round bye, the Patriots lose at home in the wild card round for the first time in a decade to Ryan Panna Hill in the Tennessee Titans.
Joe Tooni, Ted Cares, Phillip Dorsett, Jamie Collins, Kyle Van Noy, Danny Shelton, Devin McCourty and others could also lead the Patriots and free agency.
Tom Brady is on track to become a free agent for the first time in his Hall of Fame career, and there's a very good chance he could leave in a couple of weeks.
All in all, it was kind of a depressing year.
It's hard to remember that there was a time not so very long ago when we talked about another perfect regular season in New England.
It was both riel and substantiated, based off amount of evidence.
The defense played lights out for most of the year despite choosing the worst time to show cracks in the armor.
Baltimore, Houston, Kansas City, Miami in Tennessee.
Even the offense briefly looked on stoppable at the beginning of the year, particularly weeks.
123 well, 2020 represents the return.
Will 2020 represent a return to form of New England's for of the NFL's premed franchise? Or is the dynasty truly crumbling right before our eyes, paving ways for another dark ages of sorts for the Patriots? Stay tuned, you know, when you put it all down a line like that, when you look at the whole list, the season really did suck, you know, And look, you guys know me.
I'm Mr Positivity on Mr Glass half full when it comes to the pay.
I am the most pessimistic person when it comes to real life, like with real life issues.
And I gotta buy a new car.
I'm like it's gonna break down tomorrow.
My wife's like, Oh, congratulations.
You got the job.
But I'm like, I'm not only gonna get fired eventually, you know, like that's me in life.
Yeah, when it comes to the Patriots, they're going, you know, they lose two in a row.
They looked like absolute crap.
And I'm like, It's all right, man.
I think it's all right.
They're gonna The Patriots are fine because I believe in built about check and Tom Brady.
There's not a lot in this world I believe in.
I believe in God.
I believe in my Children.
I believe in my wife.
And I believe in Bill Belichick.
Like those are the four things that I believe in life.
One of those four let me down this season, and that was the New England Patriots, and I purposely didn't read that article.
I started skimming.
It saw where it was going and stop because I wanted to read it as we went here, and as I was reading it.
I started laughing almost out of frustration how brutal this season was for the Patriots, and I know that nobody feels sorry for us.
I know that nobody is gonna cry me a river and the Patriots that's in the Patriot side and yada, yada, yada, and I get it.
I'm not looking for sympathy.
I don't want the Brit chief coming on here and giving me a hug, but I can acknowledge is a Patriots fan that this year sucked.
I mean, how could you not? I remember when Skip Bayless said the Patriots of the most overrated eight.
No team in the league.
And we were, Oh, where we mad where we not go find a YouTube video or SportsCastrs shows somewhere, What SportsCastr that time Go find a show somewhere, and I guarantee you it will be me freaking out about Skip Bayliss and then Baltimore happen.
And any time you think about bad things in New England, Baltimore is always sort of surrounded in the mix that is good and bad.
You had the wide laugh.
You had the double pass, those of the good things.
Then you had the ray rice.
I don't know, Joe says.
I've been saying a lack of a F C championship appearances would be a cause for concern for years.
This offseason will make or break the dynasty ops of freakin lutely, Summer says.
I believe in them with all my heart, and I tell everyone in the start of the season and I'll tell everyone I'll see you in February.
Listen, if any team was gonna bounce back from this season, they just had.
We all know it's the New England Patriots.
We d'oh! We know it's the Patriots Of any team is gonna jump is gonna bounce back from this hellacious season.
It's the New England Patriots.
Can they do it without Tom Brady? Are they really interested in Andy Dalton? I mean, there's a lot of things, a lot of things to take into consideration here, and I mean, it's just it's just been one of those seasons.
All right, I'm gonna skip this and I'm gonna jump into this.
This is from my boy Bernbach, master of Pat's pulpit.
Now you know what? I can't skip it.
It's probably important to know 2020 NFL draft potential Patriots targets who helped or hurt their stock during Sunday's on field combine workout.
It's from Bernbach, Master from Pats Pulpit.
You all know I hate the combine.
I hate reading about the Columbine hate watching the combine.
I don't like anything about the NFL combine.
I get its importance.
I'm not saying it's not an important event.
I'm not saying that it's not crucial to the draft.
I'm just saying I hate it.
I hate reading about it.
I hate talking about it.
I think there's more than just a combine to go by.
But I also know that a lot of my fan base likes it.
So I will go through this article for you guys because that's who I am as a person.
I'm a man of the people.
Sometimes I chase you away.
Bobby and I had a thing.
We didn't talk for a while, but we're good now.
You know it's what we d'oh! I **** people off.
They ignore me when they come back.
I need to tell all of you something.
If I ever lose it.
Are you on Twitter? If I ever lose it on you on SportsCastr and It's during a game.
You cannot take any thing I say.
You cannot take it at heart.
You cannot take it as personal, because when I'm upset, I'm going to go ballistic and everything is going to set me off.
You're gonna be like Ray.
Everything will be okay.
You think You think everything's gonna be okay? You think everything's gonna be okay? Okay.
What? Soon as the game's over, we're good.
If my wife didn't figure out about my emotions during the game, we would have been divorced years ago.
This stuff that I have said to her or said to my kids during the game it's the only time of the year.
I literally turn into a monster.
It's why when SportsCastr approached me about doing the show, it was a great When they approached me about play by play, I was like, Oh, I did.
It was a big It was a big debate for myself and I said, Okay, I'll try the preseason out.
I'll try out the preseason.
Well, I'm not gonna get upset during the preseason, I had no emotional investment into the preseason, but I went to the preseason stupidly and thought, Oh, I could do this.
Everything will be fine.
Then the Patriots went eight. No.
So I was like, This is beautiful.
Things are great And then Baltimore happened.
And then Baltimore happened and you all started.
Seen what? It's like, how I get when I'm watching the game.
It's the only time I drop after bombs live on the show.
I swear in real life like crazy, But my God, I think the Baltimore game got me even more. Mags.
I'm watching Lamar Jackson going crazy all over the Patriots, and all I kept thinking was notes.
We wanted you to tank.
I wanted the Patriot to take Lamar Jackson so badly.
The only time I ever probably got mad and swore, drained like a live stream and stop beyond a game day.
Because when the Patriots didn't draft Lamar Jackson now I was drunk.
But, well, you all know the story.
Anyways, let's get through this combine article.
The NFL's 2020 scouting combine is in the books.
After the last portion of on field workouts took place on Sunday afternoon, thank God corner backs and safeties hit Lucas Oil Stadium field.
And among the standout performers also were some players who might very well find themselves on New England, the New England Patriots radar as we're getting closer and closer to late April's draft.
Considering their depth that cornerback, however, it seems likely that safety is more important to the Patriots perspective.
This is especially true considering that Devin McCourty is scheduled enter enter free agency later this month and that both he and Patrick Chung will be 33 years old when the new season gets kicked off.
The list of potential draft targets who helped or hurt their stock on Sunday, therefore is heavily tilted towards the safety position and does not include outstanding performers such as Florida cornerback J. C.
Well, that being said, let's take a closer look at the defensive backs who took the field yesterday.
Stock up strong safety Jeremy Chin at a Southern Illinois.
Sze Henderson stole the show at the cornerback position, while Jeremy Chin did the same at the safety.
Even though he did not participate in all drills.
He sat out the three cone drill and short shuttle.
The southern Illinois is product at a terrific day at the office.
Chin ran the 40 yard dash in an outstanding 4.
45 seconds despite being measured at six foot 3 £221 he also had 20 reps in the bench press.
He truly shined in the jumps, though.
She had a 41 vertical and also registered a 138 inch board.
A broad jump Kentley plate.
Okay, play at the Pride of Detroit further ****yzed the numbers to calculate a relative athletic score, and only two players reach better than Chin during the combine.
Jacey Henderson and Clemson's linebacker Isaiah Simms, who Should, who scored a perfect 10 while Chin registered a 9.
99 Originally projected to come off the board late on Day three, the 22 year old showed that he belong in the top 100 selections.
Free safety Kyle Duker, a small school prospect who brings a raw skill set to the table but might need some additional development before being considered a starting caliber defender, Kyle Digger or Duggar I'll call him Digger, showed that his athletic foundation is a strong one to build upon.
He ran a 40 yard dash and 4.
49 seconds and also look terrific in the vertical 42 inches and board broad jumps 143 inches.
Like Chin, he appears to be well on his way to become a day to selection coming off the board, possibly as early as the second round.
Here we go again.
Cornerback Javelin Kay Cure the Utah cornerback number one.
This is one of the reasons I hate reading about the combine.
My God, the Utah cornerback.
As noted above, the Patriots are not in the market for a cornerback with stuff on Gilmer, Jacey, Jackson, Jason McCord, Ian Jonathan Jones and 29 2nd round pick 2019 2nd round pick John Williams atop the depth chart.
That being said, if the Value presents itself, the team could very much invest the position.
Either way, one player who might cause the team to pull the trigger on Day three on God, though I cannot pronounce a single part of this guy's name, Please don't draft him.
I butcher the names enough as it is, and they're easy names.
You know, I'm just skipping the sky altogether.
Strong safety Tanner Muse what while chins relative athletic score was the best among safety, Tanner muses, 99.
97 was not far behind and oppressive, an impressive achievement for a player who was fighting to make it into a team's board.
As a potential late round selection.
Measured at six foot 2 £227 Muse had a solid I'll bet.
Unspent tacular vertical John, 34.5.
He really stood out on the 40 yard dash, running a 4.
41 seconds, however, as well as his 20 bench press reps were a 124 inch board.
Well, uh, will his raw athletic profile be enough to get him drafted? That remains to be seen, But given his given his size, a team like the Patriots might be willing to take a late round flyer and use him as a safety slash linebacker hybrid role.
And on special teams.
Man, I don't think burnt proofread this at all.
He's not using punctuation.
So this is for you guys.
Just so you know, this is all for you guys.
I'm not doing this for me.
I do this fear my fans.
No, I can read this.
I can read this guy's name. I just can't read this article.
The punctuation is off.
It screwed me up.
Burned Black Mass is one of the best writers in the game, but he butchered this one.
It's like he wrote it on his phone.
But strong safety Kevin Wallace at a Clemson given Wallace is neither the biggest five foot, £1106 nor the fastest defensive back at his 4.
53 40 yard dash showed.
But his agility numbers were among the best all day.
The cleansing product, at a 6.
763 cone drill in a 4.
15 short shuttle and also look good in his vertical 38 inches and broad jump of 133 inches.
Wall says versatility makes him an intriguing target, and one of the middle rounds in late April and a strong workout on Lee adds to this perspective.
I remember when you called Michelle Sonny for a while, okay? I said that the night he got drafted.
The night he got drafted, I was I I was OK after that, I was also drunk the night that Sony got drafted.
All right, first, skipping that one. Stock down.
McKinney from Alabama, the Alabama safety who is a popular mock draft pick for the Patriots, did not have a bad day per se.
An apparent injury led him to finish the 40 yard dash in just 4.
64 seconds, a time that is not reflective of his tape as one of the Ranges defensive backs to enter this year's draft.
Oh, like I just inhaled the Corona virus.
McKinney is still expected to get drafted in the first round, but his injury status would be worth keeping a close eye on.
The same can also be said about his pro day workout on March 24th.
Strong safety Jaliens out, Jalen Elliot out of Notre Dame and normal name, a physical safety who is trying to become a mid round selection.
Elliot had an up and down Sunday.
He finished the three Cone drill in 6.
87 seconds and also had 100 25 inch broad jump.
His 40 yard dash of just 4.
8 seconds was the slowest amongst all safeties participating in the workout, however, while his 15 bench press wraps were only slightly better in comparison to his peers.
All in all, however, Elliot did not help his stock.
Ah, and my boy, my man stock down cornerback Damon Arnette out of the Ohio State University right, get a great year for the Buckeyes, are not entered the draft with questions about his maturity.
So the interview process might have been more important for a stock than his actual on field work.
That being said, he did not convince.
On Sunday, Arnett ran the 40 yard dash in just 4.
5 seconds before sitting out the other drills.
Well, he has a high upside.
He always ah, hi, upside player that could be drafted as early as the second round.
His 40 time did not really help him.
Look, I thought, really help him.
Burnt proof read, proof read.
Oh, what did I look like? What did I look like? You know, I feel dead right now.
They get still there like I feel like it's just gonna come blaring out.
This show is taking much longer than I wanted it to take, Huh? You know what these next two subjects and ones that I'm gonna talk about tomorrow, So I'm just gonna skip them.
You guys gotta wait till tomorrow.
The hell with you guys.
Here's an interesting story coming out of the NFL.
Them away from the Patriots.
I think the more life I ain't taking the morning off.
Where ain't taking tomorrow off? Never take tomorrow off.
I gotta make the dockets, man.
Are you kidding me? SportsCastr pays me to take days off.
We're like, man.
So the leg back on and get in there, Ray.
Gangrene doesn't affect the way you talk, does it? Oh, I, um I will, uh I will be, um, taking time off in April.
I got a week off coming up in April April 3rd will be my last show for, like, eight straight days.
99 straight days.
So I just got to get through another month in a little bit here, and then I'll be able to rest the vocal cords.

One more month, one more month and I'll be good.

I can't get over how much it costs.
Actually, do a podcast like you can get one was like a free half hour.
You're like a free four hours a month.
So, um, I'm just from a business perspective, it's probably gonna come in April.
Um, I know that I just Ah, I just re negotiate and got a little bit of an increased, so I'll be able to take that money invested into a podcast because until I start getting some serious sponsorship, it's it's gonna be costly for me to run it.
Um, I've been out, I've gotten a couple of places reached out to me for sponsorship, but it's just didn't really fit.
What? What I do on my show, there was a little weird, and I know I should, you know, be taking anything.
But like one was like a foodsaver, and I was like, I don't even understand how to do that.
And ah, yeah, so it's It's all good.
Um, my stuff gets up.
My blog's gets indicated kind, I guess called syndication.
It ends up on a couple different websites and stuff.
Um, yeah, man, it's Ah.
Oh, yeah, It's all good.
So I'm just gonna be going looking through stuff and figuring out, but yeah.
I mean, the podcast is coming.
The podcast is coming, I promise you.
I promise you, I promise you it is coming.
Anyways, the Redskins are considering drafting to, uh, to compete with Haskins.
And how the hell will that throw the draft off? That means Chase Young could possibly end up in Miami.
That's a nightmare for me.
An absolute nightmare.
If there's anything Ohio State University knows what to do, it's it's how to develop defensive ends.
But rumors linking the Washington Redskins with to attack a viola continue to circulate with the 2020 NFL combine nearing its conclusion, Redskins head coach Ron Rivera told Tenga Viola during his meeting at the combine that he wants to draft the former Alabama quarterback to compete with the 2019 1st rounder Dwayne Haskins, the former Ohio State University guy guy there who I said would not compete in the NFL anyways.
Washington felt like Dwayne was not the guy.
Right now, Dean reports, they want to bring into a Just get it going and compete.
The Redskins were widely expected to select a star pass rusher Chase Young with the second overall pick, but Rivera said everything is an option.
The Cincinnati Bengals appear likely to take quarterback Joe Borough Ah, at number one in April, and I don't see why they wouldn't be out of their frickin minds.
Not to take a Viola has long been length of Miami Dolphins, but the signal caller reportedly left his visit feeling uncertain about whether the team want semester.
Franchise quarterback Miami holds the fifth overall pick and could explore a trade up to select a good bowler.
The lefty is expected to soon be clear from his hip injury and ready for the NFL campaign.
The Arizona Cardinals were in a similar situation last year when they drafted Cuyler Murray with the first overall pick despite selecting Josh Rosen at number 10 the year prior.
If Washington took to, uh, that would put the whole thing just it would just put the whole draft crazy.
And ah, man, I don't I'm telling you, I do not want chase Young in the a f c East or the A f c Anyone.
But I don't know.
Oh, um, I don't know, guys, I guess I think I think that's it for tonight.
I got nothing else to say.
I've read all my stories.
