00:05:36
the following takes place between 8 a.m.
00:05:39
and nine.
00:06:10
Good morning, everybody.
00:06:12
And welcome to FBC Radio Live. That's right.
00:06:15
It is Thursday.
00:06:16
It is February the 27th and we're back here.
00:06:20
And you know what? I'm Mike.
00:06:24
You know, we're gonna jump right into it, cause you know, this is this is my friend Mike, and I just want I just want to make sure everyone out there knows that it is not, uh, either of us.
00:06:33
Ah, passing any sort of wind.
00:06:35
I believe it is the windshield wiper swiping across the windshield that is making that noise.
00:06:40
But without further ado, I would like to bring in the $1,000,000 Man. Mr.
00:06:45
Mike Debate Mike, how we doing today? London.
00:06:52
Yes, In transit this morning.
00:06:54
Joining us on the Yes.
00:06:56
That's right.
00:06:57
The lifestyle of a $1,000,000 man never ever takes a day.
00:07:02
But yes, in Slate trains that this morning, folks.
00:07:04
So if you do hear some difficulties with the audio, I assure you it is not my $3 internet this time.
00:07:12
It is the the transit that is causing it, but always a pleasure to be on.
00:07:17
Even though I had to be in transit this morning, my friend.
00:07:19
It was not going to stop me from joining you on the microphone because we got a ton to talk about.
00:07:23
And unfortunately, not a whole lot of it is Ah, sensical or even Elko Aaron.
00:07:29
But we'll give it It's Justin that that pretty much sums up our show in general for the most part.
00:07:35
Yeah, I would say that would be our new iTunes description under our podcast.
00:07:40
So, uh, just should and and not not coincidentally or maybe coincidently, I titled this episode the show about nothing.
00:07:48
So, you know, maybe maybe we're a little bit more in tune than we even figured ourselves.
00:07:54
But no.
00:07:55
During that intro, I, uh, the mature adult in me wanted to ignore the noise and just move on and pretend like nothing happened.
00:08:04
However, the immature child inside me that still exists.
00:08:09
You couldn't help but giggle when he heard that swipe across the windshield.
00:08:12
So he had to point it out to all the listeners here So you could do it.
00:08:16
You have to do.
00:08:17
And I appreciate it because you know what it is. You're on camera.
00:08:19
So it is a pretext.
00:08:21
It protects my, uh, my delicate reputation.
00:08:24
So I appreciate that.
00:08:25
Well, yeah, exactly.
00:08:26
That's that's That's certainly what I had in mind.
00:08:28
And, you know, Oh, definitely.
00:08:30
And I could also regale everyone with a nice, ah rainy, windy drive through southern New England this morning, and it's ah, it's It's everything that you think it is, which is dull, boring and kind of mundane.
00:08:43
So there you go.
00:08:44
I think that sums up our Thursday morning.
00:08:46
You know, usually I take this time to brag about brag about the weather down here, but it's actually kind of cold and rainy today.
00:08:52
Well, you know, not ready this morning, but rainy all day yesterday and kind of gold.
00:08:56
So, um, I I certainly had Thio turn the heat on for the first time in a few weeks.
00:09:01
So it was.
00:09:02
It was definitely tough to get through.
00:09:04
Yeah, it is.
00:09:05
It's the struggle.
00:09:06
Israel here in New England has been ineffective.
00:09:09
Been talking about this with a lot of people this week.
00:09:12
It's been so mild, it really, really has been a very mild winter.
00:09:16
I think we have less than four inches of snow on record for the entire year, which is amazing.
00:09:22
Eso it's ah, just one of those years where you know, the global warming People are coming out and saying, Yeah, where are you now? Climate change.
00:09:30
And you know, last year when it was cold and snowy and you know, the detractors were, you know, really kind of coming out of the woodwork.
00:09:37
And my whole thing is virtue lies somewhere in the middle.
00:09:39
I do believe in climate change.
00:09:42
Maybe not to the extreme that some believe in it, but I do think that it's it's affecting this and we need to do something about it.
00:09:48
But you know what? That's a different conversation for a different day.
00:09:51
Um, like I said, I'm driving through and seeing the environment for the first time in a while in the morning on our show.
00:09:57
So, you know, it's just all the fields.
00:09:58
It well, you know, days like today make me wonder, or winters like today makes me wonder how the people up in the bush are doing.
00:10:07
You know, I I get into you know, when I when I'm working at home a lot, I like to watch things on my ipad you know, just kind of distraction.
00:10:15
A little background noise, you know, sometimes listening to radio podcast, whatever.
00:10:19
And what better podcast listen to than the great great syriza podcast from full press coverage? Check it out, you know, But, you know, I feel Yeah, that's right, Chief, I got plenty of this kind of work. Don't worry.
00:10:31
But I've been really getting into these Alaskan like that.
00:10:37
I can I don't like the life below zero less when it is.
00:10:41
I always forget the name of it, but it's like it's literally the same episode over and over and over and over and over again about these people who live up in secluded areas of Alaska.
00:10:52
And I'm fascinated by it.
00:10:56
You know, there's part of me that thinks you know what? This would be an interesting thing to try.
00:11:01
However, I know me.
00:11:03
And I know I would say I would quit.
00:11:05
There's no way I could live like that.
00:11:06
Be the work is far too hard.
00:11:09
Um, I I sit and I worked at a computer.
00:11:11
So this is manual labor thing.
00:11:14
Eyes a little bit for more foreign to me.
00:11:16
Uh, you know, Lise more so now than it was when I was younger.
00:11:19
I used to work a little bit harder than physically that that way, but I don't know what it is.
00:11:24
I don't know what it is about those shows, but it sucks me in.
00:11:27
But I noticed, though, in those shows they were always talking about global warming. Hell is warmer.
00:11:32
Oh, it's a warmer winter than normal bubble, bubble ball that stuff.
00:11:36
Maybe it's happening up there again.
00:11:38
I wonder how they're doing.
00:11:39
I don't know.
00:11:40
Do you watch those shows or am I just crazy and just you know, you're not crazy.
00:11:42
I actually do. I.
00:11:44
I like those shows as well.
00:11:45
I don't get a chance to watch him as much as I'd like to, but that's interesting.
00:11:49
That could be if we have any of our listeners that have any type of information on what the winter has been like this year, up in the bush and up in those areas.
00:11:58
Uh, please don't hesitate to let us know.
00:12:00
Ian, and I would definitely love to hear it on dhe.
00:12:02
Also, you know, it'll show that maybe we have, you know, other other listeners in other parts of the country in the region of the world, so that would be good.
00:12:10
That would definitely be good.
00:12:11
But up here in the Northeast, it's definitely been mild.
00:12:14
And even as you get up into the higher ranges of New England like the message, the other sure thes air is that I think have been hit by this as well.
00:12:26
They still have snow.
00:12:27
They still have a lot of cold weather, but not as bad as it's been.
00:12:30
And Southern New England has been.
00:12:32
Really, I want to say D C Virginia like it's Ah, it's winter This year we've had a couple of cold days, but nothing really d'oh to write home about and certainly nothing to be worried about.
00:12:44
It's been very, very light when it comes to snow and ice.
00:12:48
Well, I got it.
00:12:49
Now. Be honest with me and the listeners, of course.
00:12:52
Could you Could you do that? Could you go out, you know, at some point and survived by yourself like that? Just, you know, be honest.
00:12:58
So you can the $1,000,000 Man deal with that? You know, put all your luxuries and items and stuff like that to the side.
00:13:05
You go live on your own minimal amount Electricity, building cabins, all that stuff.
00:13:10
Could you do it, Mike? You know, they say, Never underestimate the will of the human spirit.
00:13:15
And that's when your back is against the wall.
00:13:17
You could do anything since.
00:13:18
But I will tell you this.
00:13:19
I will tell you this.
00:13:21
I don't see it happening.
00:13:22
I don't see it happening.
00:13:24
I'd probably be one of those casualties, and probably pretty quickly if I'm being honest.
00:13:27
Look, you know, I think it's just the lifestyle and the type of work, the line of work that we're in and things of that nature.
00:13:34
So I think it's a little bit lofty of me to say, Oh, yeah, I can survive out there and anything.
00:13:39
I can come through it all.
00:13:41
You know, I really I tell you, I don't see it happening, so yeah, the chances of it are very, very slim to none.
00:13:46
Yeah, I know.
00:13:47
I Look, I'm right there with your buddy.
00:13:49
I, uh you know, there's a few things out this Look, if I could be guaranteed a few luxuries, you know, maybe I could make it work.
00:13:56
You know what I would have to get.
00:13:57
You know, there's a few things that the whole secluded thing I think I would enjoy for for a time.
00:14:02
But then, you know, again, I'd like to talk.
00:14:05
So who am I gonna talk to besides myself? And then what? Then we're talking about going down in a complete different, uh, level of insanity, So Okay, so I'll put a wrinkle into this four if if you have the seclusion but shot secret agent gave you, they gave you a connection.
00:14:26
You have to take the seclusion, but they give you a connection that Onley allows you connection to f, P.
00:14:33
C and Twitter.
00:14:35
Could you do that? I'm trying to decipher that between my normal life.
00:14:40
So bear with me while I try.
00:14:42
Well, I think about that.
00:14:44
That was That was great.
00:14:46
I wasn't expecting an audience, sir, but that is spot on.
00:14:48
I'll tell you, because about this point, because to be honest with you, look, that that essentially sums up my life.
00:14:55
Now I'm just not in a cold, secluded environment.
00:14:58
I'm just in a warm, somewhat secluded environment cause I avoid most human contact at all costs because, you know hey, who wants to deal with that? No, look, I mean, if we're talking about legally, there's one person.
00:15:12
I don't know that there's one person that literally lives everything off that I couldn't do that, you know, like he kill your foot like that's the thing.
00:15:20
I couldn't kill the animal out about that.
00:15:22
I I can justify it farm or when it's packaged and everything like that, then going out and doing it myself.
00:15:28
I'll admit that I'm not, You know, I'm not that type of person.
00:15:30
I, you know, I would definitely not be.
00:15:32
Ah, hunter.
00:15:34
Uh, you know, back in the day, I maybe I'd be a gatherer.
00:15:37
That's who I would be.
00:15:39
But no, look, it's I don't know what what got us started on this tangent, but I just I shows like that just fascinate me.
00:15:46
And it's just like I think about that drive through the wilds of Southern New England and Ryland.
00:15:52
Exactly.
00:15:53
Yes, because I have to do this show in transit completely got us off the track.
00:15:58
Well, it was trying to distract from the er the noise made at the beginning of episode.
00:16:04
So, you know Hey, you never know what what path? We're gonna head down.
00:16:08
But ah, no, Like, I watch those shows sometimes.
00:16:11
And it's just like it is a weird escape from, you know, to kind of bring it back to where we are.
00:16:15
It's a kind of a weird escape from my reality, which you summed up so so eloquently just a minute ago.
00:16:21
Witches, seclusion from the outside world and focusing solely on Twitter and full press covered.
00:16:25
So you know what? Yeah, you know what? That that that's pretty much it.
00:16:29
That's why I'm here on camera every day.
00:16:30
And I'm talking on, you know, every show imaginable and constantly staring at a computer screen.
00:16:36
But that gives me an opportunity to be here and be able to talk sports.
00:16:39
And, you know, uh, while I work, you know, I watch those shows and whatnot, but but but it takes me into a different reality When I come back to my reality.
00:16:49
The reality is the craziness that is speculation rampant, um, misinformation being spread across social media, all that stuff.
00:16:59
And, uh, we've come to the point now.
00:17:03
I will, actually, I don't even want to say this is now the point that we've crossed the line because I think the line was crossed a long time ago when it comes to Tom Brady speculation.
00:17:13
But we believe at this point really crossed.
00:17:16
Like like the double secret line beyond the original line of speculation.
00:17:23
When you have someone go up and look, we could toss this to the side if it was just some Joe Schmo on Twitter just throwing things out because you look, that's what social media is a large scale platform where where everyone across the world is able t given opinion and guess what? A lot of opinions are very misinformed, and I'm not excluding myself from this.
00:17:45
You know, There's just so much information out there.
00:17:47
It's hard to stay up on everything.
00:17:49
And this is, you know, goes beyond sports.
00:17:51
Just look at anyone's opinion on literally anything and you'll see what I'm talking about.
00:17:57
Mine included.
00:17:58
You know, there's things that I'm not informed well enough on that.
00:18:00
I have an opinion on that, you know, maybe someone can educate me on it.
00:18:04
Look, I'll be open to it.
00:18:05
Not everyone is.
00:18:06
Uh, Anyways, there's certain opinions out there, though that are just wrong.
00:18:10
You know, just because you have that opinion doesn't mean there's there's any, you know, just a sliver of hope.
00:18:16
I mean, look at Nick, right? I mean, he's He's OK.
00:18:19
Case point, you know, 0.0.1.
00:18:21
You know, you were just gonna say some people make a nice living out of missing for independence, so that was exactly But sometimes it's just reckless, though, because so Brady Quinn kits on.
00:18:32
I can't remember what program it was I think was on CBS or something like that. Doesn't matter.
00:18:37
Thank you.
00:18:38
Thank you.
00:18:39
Thank you.
00:18:40
Ah, you know, Mike, the rock debate.
00:18:43
There you go. There's another nickname for you.
00:18:45
Uh, anyways, he gets on whatever program it was, and I You know, look, I'm not even interested in giving it too much credit, because again, take is absurd and suggests that there's quote unquote murmurs, one of those just generic ***ue terms that that that somehow carries weight.
00:19:05
That calm Brady could go to New Orleans, and it's like what? And look, I joke, I joke.
00:19:13
And I thought it was pretty funny joking again.
00:19:15
I love my humor a lot more than other people. Like my humor.
00:19:18
So you're gonna have to, you know, take my opinion with the grain of salt.
00:19:21
But, ah, I joked that.
00:19:22
Why would he want to go on back up taste of mill and in reality and in and look in all seriousness, though it it makes absolutely zero cents.
00:19:32
And this is also a look.
00:19:35
I'll make two points on this one.
00:19:37
It makes zero sense that it would ever happen for so many reasons.
00:19:40
I mean, you obviously Drew Brees is coming back because he says he wants to come back.
00:19:45
And unless New Orleans decides to have a change of heart and decided to move on from him, he's gonna be the quarterback next season to, uh, obviously, why would Tom Brady go to New Orleans? I just again that this this falls under the the the big umbrella.
00:20:00
The big point that I've been making for a while is it makes no sense for Tom Brady.
00:20:03
Move on.
00:20:04
And three, If we're gonna play this hypothetical fictional game of you know, where does Tom Brady play? You know, if it does happen that New Orleans has a choice, and if they remove emotion from it, they take hombre over Drew Brees.
00:20:19
I got a better team, but that's just me.
00:20:22
That's just none.
00:20:24
I think we kind of went over this yesterday when again, Thio, you know, Or the day before when it came to putting Brady on these different teams that maybe you haven't heard of.
00:20:33
And I said this yesterday, so there might be a team out there that we haven't heard off.
00:20:37
That being said, folks, E yeah, I'm fumbling to try to be diplomatic on this, but yes, this is just a NASA nine.
00:20:46
Take it.
00:20:47
I mean this.
00:20:49
There is no feasible truth to anything that would indicate it's Tom Brady is looking to hedge in New Orleans to Tennessee.
00:20:56
I can I can see the argument.
00:20:57
Las Vegas.
00:20:58
I can see the argument.
00:20:59
LOS Angeles I can see the argument.
00:21:01
I don't agree with any of those, but at least they make logistical sense.
00:21:05
Tennessee.
00:21:06
If they don't decide to re sign Ryan Tannehill has a vacancy at the quarterback position.
00:21:10
They may decide to go in that direction.
00:21:13
I can't see the New Orleans Saints.
00:21:15
Moving on from juvie is when he was very adamant about making the decision to come back.
00:21:20
Let's do this again.
00:21:25
This is something that obviously he's discussed with the team.
00:21:28
This is something that obviously they know right now, this is getting down into crunch time.
00:21:32
Andy and I warned everyone about this the last couple of weeks.
00:21:35
You're gonna see some pretty idiotic takes.
00:21:38
You're going to see some takes. They're gonna make you shake your head.
00:21:40
What amazes me is that this has the legs that it's had.
00:21:43
I've seen people writing articles on this quoting it as if it's an actual Do you not take? I mean, this is really I mean, come on, people.
00:21:51
We're better than this.
00:21:52
I mean, really, you know Brady Quinn, And I'm not I'm not, you know, negatively speaking about Brady at all.
00:21:59
Let him do his thing.
00:22:00
He wants to get up there and say those things.
00:22:02
That's his right.
00:22:04
If he's hearing murmurs, I don't know.
00:22:05
I mean, they're the only thing I hear when I when I hear the word murmur, is a heart murmur, and that 30 is a much more serious situation, the Brady Quinn spewing his mouth.
00:22:12
But at the same time, I just don't see any type of legs that this story has.
00:22:19
To me, this is simply just a headlines.
00:22:21
Grab a click grab and trying to get your name out there and being the latest to say something stupid.
00:22:27
And the long line of dumb things that have been said about Brady's future.
00:22:30
So and Birdbrain, I say Brady.
00:22:32
I mean Tom Brady, not Brady Quinn.
00:22:34
So in this case, folks again just watched the source see where it's coming from.
00:22:41
Try to think about whether or not it has any basis in reality.
00:22:44
Before you re tweet this garbage because really it It sets a narrative that really should not be set.
00:22:50
You wanna have an intelligent discussion about where Tom Brady and they play next year? I think it begins and ends in New England.
00:22:57
So does my good friend on the other end of this microphone, However, if you think there's a good case for a team like the Las Vegas Raiders or a team like the uh, Los Angeles Chargers or a team like the Tennessee Titans that have a legitimate shot at signing him, Yeah, I think we can have a discussion.
00:23:14
I think we can have an argument and maybe even a little bit of back and forth and you may be able to bring some stuff to the table that we can listen to.
00:23:20
But when you come out and say something stupid like he's going to the Saints I mean, come on, why don't you just say he's going to the Chiefs, you know, going to the Ravens? I mean, really, I mean, you know, I was gonna go play in the XFL thes air.
00:23:31
Just the just ask denying takes.
00:23:33
And you know, we have to be better than this.
00:23:35
We really, really do.
00:23:36
I I think I like in this to ah, the the old Carmen Sandiego game for I mean, I'm sure there's updated versions, but, you know, I kind of tapped out a Commodore 64 you can kind of date me that way.
00:23:47
But, ah, you know, I like in this to the, um you know, t to the I like Is that the Carmen Sandiego game where you're going? You go to each spot, they give you, like, three clues.
00:23:58
It's like, OK, where's Tom Brady gonna play this? You know what I mean? It's just This is good.
00:24:02
This cat and mouse chase where it's like, Look, at the end of the day, Tom's going back to New England.
00:24:07
I said yesterday, the only other team, and again, I don't think this is going to happen.
00:24:12
I'm just saying the only thing in my mind that would make sense would be go to San Francisco because obviously, the factors I said yesterday the location close since the family, they're higher.
00:24:23
You know their place in the hierarchy of the NFL Elites yada, yada, yada, all that stuff.
00:24:29
Watch out there by get take brewing here.
00:24:32
No, no, no.
00:24:33
He's going to go to San Francisco to do what Jimmy G couldn't do because you rub his nose in it, right? You know, he's gonna He's gonna dangle the keys of the TB 12 facility, gonna lock him out a Candlestick park walking in tow.
00:24:45
Levi Stadium.
00:24:46
Is that what it is? Now? It is.
00:24:48
You think you want.
00:24:51
You just aren't you? I was talking college or nobody for it.
00:24:54
And I think a good friend Ryan advert Arado would agree with you.
00:24:57
I was there were still playing in Candlestick.
00:24:59
I think it was just something about that environment.
00:25:02
Ah, where that that stadium was in just the history there.
00:25:05
That really, I think, brings Ah lot of a lot of smiles to a lot of faces in San Francisco.
00:25:10
But, yeah, wouldn't that be an interesting story? So look, and to be a we're getting into a ****.
00:25:16
Brady Quinn does this to you.
00:25:18
He brings all of the dumb ass, takes out of everybody well, but that here's the Here's the thing, and this is something like I said, I'm I don't hesitate to give myself credit at anything.
00:25:29
I'll always avoid knocking myself for making a mistake.
00:25:32
But I will never hesitate to give myself credit.
00:25:34
And this is why I've been saying this for so long.
00:25:36
It's It's all about what's logical and in a lot of these situations that these people throw out there, it's just it doesn't make any sort of.
00:25:46
It's not logical.
00:25:48
It doesn't make sense in the just everything we know about both situations the team, the player, all that stuff, it doesn't make that so.
00:25:55
And I told someone yesterday on Twitter who asked like you know, because I said, Don't listen to I mean guys like you know, and I don't want to throw out a lot in eight different names, but you know, just the talking heads on TV that come up there and say, Oh, I'm hearing this Or Brady could be thinking this and Brady wants It's like they don't know.
00:26:12
Do you think that like, you know, like I said yesterday, Ah, fill in Host number four on Good Morning Football knows what Tom Brady's thinking.
00:26:21
No, he doesn't.
00:26:22
I mean, now, if Randy Moss or like Willie McGinnis comes on TV and alludes to something like, You know what Tom might be considering moving on.
00:26:32
Then you know what I might take.
00:26:34
I would put a lot more stock and a lot more weight in that, because I know I know the relationship that those you know.
00:26:41
Tom has one with Willie and then one, you know, the one he has with Randy Moss.
00:26:47
Now.
00:26:48
It's not a coincidence that neither of those guys have thrown out any sort of reckless speculation, and it has said that they, you know, at the end of day they think he's going back to New England, or it's like their gut, you know, so to me, like Unless it's someone like that saying it or Tom himself, I would literally put zero stock.
00:27:05
And what any of these guys day, especially someone like Brady Clinton.
00:27:08
Because who Who is Brady Quinn? You know, exactly what relationship does he have to Tom Brady and KJ Stepbrother? Yeah, exactly.
00:27:17
And like I said, you know, I mean, I'm not.
00:27:19
I'm definitely not knocking the guy person.
00:27:21
I have nothing personal against Brady Quinn.
00:27:23
I don't look at it is saying, Oh, well, he joins the legion of Cliff dwellers on Moron Mountain, and we all know who is who's on that list, folks, but again crowded.
00:27:32
I put him up there, but I'm just saying that throwing these things out there are just It's it is, it's It's reckless because it creates a narrative that doesn't deserve to be created.
00:27:43
And I think you made an excellent point.
00:27:45
The people that come out, the people that come out when they make these type of comments, you have to consider the source.
00:27:51
And I say that all the time.
00:27:53
You mentioned guys like Randy Moss, Willie McGinest, Absolutely.
00:27:56
That was exactly the guys to me that you would, you know, that you would put a little stock into people that are close to the Brady.
00:28:03
Can people that know that have a personal relationship with him? I go back to Tom.
00:28:07
I go back to his own words Super Bowl weekend when he gave his Westwood one interview with Jim Gray and he sent down and said, You know, there are a lot of speculations out there.
00:28:16
There are a lot of people that think they know what's happening.
00:28:19
A lot of people without any information are making claims.
00:28:22
He's a time zone words.
00:28:23
So keep that in mind when you listen to Ah, lot of the names out there and not even so much the lesser names that are trying to get their names out there.
00:28:31
Folks, these are established people.
00:28:34
There are a lot of them that make a lot of outlandish claims, a lot of speculation, and it's good copy.
00:28:40
It makes for good sound bites.
00:28:42
It makes for good Twitter clips and to be able to share and go viral.
00:28:46
And that's what our business has become instead of reporting what it should be.
00:28:50
And that's the fax educated speculation fact backed up by facts and being able to use that into a coherent argument.
00:28:57
That's an art form that has been so lost in an IRA in our society.
00:29:01
And you know what? It's just this is the type of breeding ground that it creates.
00:29:06
And you think it's bad in sports.
00:29:07
I mean, just put it out there and he hates points is benign compared to some of the other realms in this Ah, you know.
00:29:14
And in this world today, such as politics and religion and things of that nature.
00:29:18
I mean, it really goes, you know, way off the charts.
00:29:21
But in sports media, it's there as well.
00:29:24
And in our business, this is the type of record reckless behavior that makes it very difficult for guys like me in tonight to do our jobs.
00:29:30
Yeah, I'm glad you brought that up because I learned today that that we'd, uh, has killed 150 million people in history.
00:29:40
I just I learned that on Twitter today by someone with the blue checkmark.
00:29:43
So you know, I understand what you're saying.
00:29:45
It's just it's it's it's the nature of what, what? What You know this world is now, and that's, uh, just on overload of misinformation.
00:29:55
And you have.
00:29:56
You have to take the time and the energy to suss out that the rial stuff, you know, you really have to take time and energy, which I guess, in a way, uh, you know, when you when you find someone who does, who has the patience and who has the time and energy to really have a debate like you said before, like a discussion, then you can really appreciate it because, you know they've done, you know, at least they put in some effort to figure out exactly what happened.
00:30:20
It's like, you know, when you when you go back to, like, you know, deflate gate or spy gate discussions, it's It's a very easy tell as to who cares and who doesn't it.
00:30:30
You know, when you spout off misinformation, you clearly have no need or want or are just desire to to learn anything from the situation and then exact.
00:30:39
That's that's who you are.
00:30:40
You're just picking up on talking points, and that's essentially sums up the entire, you know, media world for the most part, and that's not to say everyone is, I mean again.
00:30:49
There's some diamonds in the rough, but it's just it's becoming far Thio.
00:30:54
Ah, just flooded and just overwhelming with the with the hot take.
00:30:59
Just gonna you know, as long as I'm right once out of 100 times, that's good for me type of journalism.
00:31:06
And unfortunately, that's kind of a case, and that's what we're into.
00:31:08
But, um, you know, shifting, you know to another quarterback, because we don't want you don't want to spend me.
00:31:15
We do want to spend the entire day on Tom Brady.
00:31:17
We would love that, but, um, another quarterback And this is something again.
00:31:22
They I never I never ceased to, ah, to take a chance to take a victory lap here.
00:31:28
And it's not quite a victory lap yet, because again, there's there's nothing official and whatever.
00:31:32
But there's been rumblings more and more so that the Indianapolis Colts are interested and Philip Rivers.
00:31:39
Now I want to say, Well, what A month ago, something like that on a while around Super Bowl time, I'm sure maybe right before anyways, whenever we kind of got the inclination that it was probably done.
00:31:50
Ah, you know, the relationship between Philip Rivers and the Chargers are pretty is pretty much done.
00:31:56
Ah, you know, I made the suggestion that hey, Indianapolis, it makes sense, you know? Ah, obviously, Florida, you know, think Tampa Bay.
00:32:04
Yeah, that, you know, that could make sense.
00:32:06
But Indianapolis, to me is, is a is a free agent.
00:32:09
Quarterbacks dream.
00:32:10
If you're being on especially a veteran who, like Rivers, is he's obviously on his last legs and hasn't won a Super Bowl yet, so it would be nice for him to have a chance to compete.
00:32:19
So ah, there's more and more rumblings that that may happen.
00:32:22
And you know what? If that's the case, I'll take another victory lap on when it does as you should, as you should.
00:32:31
And I think we joked a little bit about this before we went on the air this morning.
00:32:35
And, you know, I mentioned that you had at first, but in a lot of ways, my friend, you did, and I think you deserve a lot of credit for that.
00:32:41
That's not me blowing smoke.
00:32:42
That's me actually telling you the way it is.
00:32:45
Look, Rivers is I have guy covered Philip for two years when he was playing you know, obviously in Los Angeles never got a chance to cover him in the as the San Diego Superchargers, But they were when you had that cute up.
00:33:01
I know you had that cute up right away.
00:33:03
And now that that's it, that's it.
00:33:06
How can I follow that? No, no.
00:33:08
Everybody just wants to get up in disco dance.
00:33:10
It's It's great, You know, we gotta get that.
00:33:12
We got to get the old wrestler disco inferno back in here on, uh, you know what you're talking about.
00:33:18
You know, the, uh, you know, the famous entrance A kingpin? Yes.
00:33:24
That disco inferno.
00:33:26
Yes.
00:33:27
I'll see what I can. D'oh.
00:33:28
Anyway, I don't I don't want you should see what you can do, but, uh, no.
00:33:33
In any case, I d'oh, I owe you a ah, a lot on that because I think that it makes a whole lot of sense.
00:33:39
Philip is the type of quarterback that can thrive very easily and the type of system that Frank Reich likes to employ.
00:33:44
We saw him be able to get the maximum amount out of a quarterback like Philip Rabbi.
00:33:50
Excuse me.
00:33:51
Like, uh, Andrew Luck and Rivers is a true pocket passer.
00:33:55
He's got some mobility, not as much now because of his age and the other told that the league is essentially taken on his body.
00:34:02
But he is a guy that can get the job done.
00:34:04
I still think he's got some stuff left in the tank.
00:34:06
We had talked about it a few weeks ago, and I still see some zip on the ball.
00:34:11
I still see that desire for him to be able to play.
00:34:13
I think he wants to prove people wrong and show that he can do, you know, still be able to be a formidable quarterback in this league? Maybe not upper echelon, but at least in the mix with very good quarterbacks in this league.
00:34:25
A lot of people talked about Tampa Bay, and I mentioned that as well.
00:34:28
I thought that was a pretty good destination for him.
00:34:31
I think in a lot of ways, I don't necessarily know how much that makes sense.
00:34:34
I think there's a young core young nucleus.
00:34:36
I think filth is looking for an opportunity to come in and be a part of a team that hasn't established ability to be able to do that. They've got a great runner.
00:34:45
And Marlon Mack, they've got Obviously, they've got t Y out on the, uh, receiving corps.
00:34:51
Their tight end may take a little bit of the dip.
00:34:53
If Eric Ebron does indeed leave, it looks like he's probably going to and seek greener fasters to get a contract that they've got a very good offense delighting to protect him.
00:35:02
That's something he did not have in Los Angeles last year.
00:35:05
They've got a very good defense to be able to back him up.
00:35:08
This makes a ton of sense and doesn't surprise me that this could be a possible destination.
00:35:13
So kudos, my friend.
00:35:14
You saw this right from the beginning.
00:35:15
You deserve a lot of credit for that.
00:35:17
Well, unfortunately, I won't get much of it, but it's all right.
00:35:19
It's okay.
00:35:20
It's all right.
00:35:21
Way will give you the credit.
00:35:23
We will.
00:35:24
We'll keep beating that drum as long as you keep playing the San Diego Superchargers Song.
00:35:27
We will keep beating that drum or this way Oh, come on, man.
00:35:34
Is might be my favorite intro to like a comedy movie ever is is uh, Woody Harrelson walking into the bowling alley and taking the pizza off and just going in and doing the whole celebration.
00:35:46
And it's great.
00:35:47
I love the song.
00:35:49
1976 trance.
00:35:51
Oh, yeah, absolutely.
00:35:53
I mean, we might have to incorporate this into a daily thing.
00:35:55
We'll see.
00:35:56
We'll find out way Could this This could be Oh, let's go.
00:36:00
Infernal minute.
00:36:01
I forgot I was on camera, so I should probably stop dancing here.
00:36:05
But, um, no, I I Look, I I think it does make sense on a lot of levels because again, you talk about all the things that that the Colts have, and if they don't have it, they have cap space.
00:36:15
They have the ability to go out and make moves and kind of find that quarterback of the future will buy in themselves.
00:36:22
You know, a couple years of decent quarterback play.
00:36:26
I, you know, again, people this whole idea that that New England would replace Tom Brady with, um, Philip Rivers.
00:36:33
You know, for whatever reason, it baffled me because again, Tom Brady is a better quarterback.
00:36:38
No matter what you say.
00:36:39
Tom Brady is a quarterback.
00:36:40
So yes, question Exactly.
00:36:44
I uncovered.
00:36:45
I've covered both teams are covered both quarterbacks.
00:36:46
Tom Brady is by far the better.
00:36:48
Right now.
00:36:49
That's not That's not a knock the Philip Rivers, so I think, doesn't get enough credit for being as good.
00:36:54
And it's tough as he's been all of his career.
00:36:56
I'll always have an affinity for Philip.
00:36:58
I hope wherever he does land, he does well.
00:37:00
He gave a lot to that organization, does so much for the community in Los Angeles.
00:37:04
Excuse me well, in Los Angeles with more San Diego than anything else.
00:37:07
So I hope he lands in a great spot for him.
00:37:10
But no, when you take a look at the two quarterbacks side by side Tom Brady any day of the week, twice on Sunday, well and and our friend I'm assuming it's Chris are NHL managing editor Chris Mancuso says Jeff Darlington says that he'd be shocked if Brady returns well, Jeff Darlington's adult PC.
00:37:27
No, I mean well, okay.
00:37:28
I'm sorry.
00:37:29
I take that back.
00:37:30
I don't I don't I don't I'm not insulting Kim.
00:37:32
I'm saying the idea that he says that is GOP because again this goes back to what I said before.
00:37:38
Jeff is also prefaced this as his own opinion.
00:37:41
He has a lot of informed information that he's getting around, and he's putting this together into his own opinion.
00:37:46
So before everybody hops all over Jeff, I know they're doing that in New England.
00:37:50
I see that a lot.
00:37:52
People will send me Twitter, D M says this guy.
00:37:53
Okay, What's going on with him? Why is he saying these things? Well, he's making an informed guess.
00:37:58
He's making an educated guess, but it's his opinion.
00:38:01
And he said that and he's not basing this on.
00:38:03
He's one of the few act, and he's one of the few that will actually say, Hey, it's an opinion or, you know, right off the hot because, you know, some people walk back.
00:38:11
Oh, no, no, no.
00:38:12
This was an opinion.
00:38:13
Oh, yeah.
00:38:14
Okay, uh, rhymes with pulling way.
00:38:18
Saw that.
00:38:19
We saw that a couple of weeks ago.
00:38:20
Yeah, exactly.
00:38:22
Right up here in New England.
00:38:24
Afternoon. Drive time. Well, I'm sorry.
00:38:26
I'm sorry.
00:38:27
Who said that I shouldn't be saying stuff like that? No, And look and look again, I I misspoke.
00:38:32
I shouldn't.
00:38:33
I I didn't mean to ah throw an insult towards towards Jeff I'm just saying that the the whole idea of the speculation aspect of it is dopey because again, really, he's not.
00:38:44
Yeah, you know, he may be plugged in with other situations.
00:38:47
I just don't believe there's too many people that have the have the the year or the, you know, the connection to Tom Brady that, you know would warrant this type of speculation to know this type of thing.
00:38:59
You know what I mean? Like, he's very, you know, in many aspects of his, like, very private.
00:39:05
Um, obviously, you know, he's a deacon, you know, go out and sell with the best of it.
00:39:09
But for the most part, he has a pretty private personal life and like he doesn't all too often, you know, give his, you know, inner feelings on a lot of things, especially contract negotiations.
00:39:20
So you know, this whole idea that anyone has any clue or insight into what he's thinking or what he's leaning towards is just it's foolish and dopey in general.
00:39:29
So now it truly is.
00:39:31
And I mean, you talk about guys that are dialed in you mentioned, you know, Jeff, I don't know how connected Jeff is to the Patriots organization or, uh, the the Brady camp.
00:39:40
I'm willing to venture to guess that he has.
00:39:42
You know, he has sources.
00:39:43
And I mean, just like any other reporter, you're gonna have guys, people that you can go to.
00:39:48
But Jeff is a national, you know, Reporters.
00:39:50
Well, that also needs to be a part of the narrative is that he's dialed into the team, but he's not, is plugged into the team as guys that are around the team all the time.
00:40:00
You know, we've mentioned several of them here on on a PC radio life.
00:40:04
Jeff, How of the Athletic Boston? Tommy Curren of NBC Sports Boston.
00:40:07
Tom basically said, You know the other day on his podcast, which I listened to regularly, not only this time a friend of mine, but it is an opinion that I put a lot of stock into.
00:40:17
Now he doesn't always say things I agree with, and he doesn't know we say things that I believed to be correct.
00:40:21
However, I know it's coming from a spot where he's reporting from what he's hearing, and he's trying to bring as much of an opinion and as much fact that he has to the forefront and he said several times, he says, Look, this is the stuff that I've reported.
00:40:34
There's no victory lap to be taken here.
00:40:36
I'm reporting what I'm hearing.
00:40:38
I'm reporting one on feeling, and that's what's going out there.
00:40:41
And he'll preface that a lot with opinion.
00:40:43
The one thing I will give Jeff is that's exactly what he did as well, he prefaced.
00:40:46
This is saying, this is my opinion.
00:40:48
This is not fact, but I'm taking all of the information that I'm hearing on putting it together, and I'm making an informed opinion.
00:40:54
That's it's how this business works.
00:40:56
You're not just like, oh well, I'm hearing.
00:40:58
I heard somebody I heard You know, Tom, Sisters, brothers, cousins, nephews, former roommate tell me he wants to go to New Orleans and then throw it out.
00:41:05
There is Canon Law just doesn't work that way.
00:41:07
So and again, that's a That's a great point because, like I, I think that's the biggest issue here.
00:41:13
Is that the water's heir to Muddy now, like where you can't it's so hard to decipher whose intent you know who has good intentions when it comes to doing their job because, you know, look, I'm guilty of it, too.
00:41:25
I've I've jumped on people a little early, you know, without actually, you know, kind of looking at the entire situation and realizing that, you know, after the fact that okay, you know, maybe I should have, you know, maybe this person could awarded something a little bit better, But maybe I should have, you know, kind of I looked into his opinion a little bit more.
00:41:43
I mean, now again, there's other people you can read half of what they're they've written and know exactly where they're coming from.
00:41:50
Know exactly what their motivation is and what their intent is.
00:41:53
So I'm not saying that.
00:41:54
And there's Far farm or those people than there are legitimate, you know, people that will do the work.
00:42:00
We'll portray everything the way they should.
00:42:02
Like your journalism.
00:42:03
It's about giving opinions about given ah, you know, information and trying to to portray it in a well thought out.
00:42:13
Well, ah displayed manner to the people that want to know this stuff.
00:42:17
But what's disingenuous and what's what's The problem is when you when you portray what what? It's just rumor and speculation and and quote unquote here say as as fact and more than what it actually is.
00:42:29
And that's the problem that we're getting in.
00:42:31
And that's why you know, each and every day you have, you know, another guy up there, you know, with the slicked back hair cut.
00:42:39
And you know what? Ah, tight suit in a generic studio.
00:42:42
Doing going on camera in a little box, talking about Oh, I think, uh, you know, I think Tom Brady is probably leaning towards the Chargers because bubble by what you know it.
00:42:54
Then it just makes you smack your head.
00:42:56
And now, Now, if you sit there and say, Okay, you know, we you know, we look at the situation laid out, this is what I think you know.
00:43:02
Not this is what sources are telling me, because again that misleading as well.
00:43:06
So you know, absolutely.
00:43:09
And they just And there is a level of criticism that's deserved in that in that situation, when you know you are coming out and oh, it's from a source.
00:43:17
But yeah, you're putting it out there.
00:43:18
So, you know, I mean, keep in mind it's coming.
00:43:21
Yeah, might be coming from a source, you can hide behind that moniker all that you want to.
00:43:25
But when you put it out there, you're attaching your name to it and it's gonna have your name attached to it because people are gonna latch onto it.
00:43:31
They're going to retweet it.
00:43:32
They're going to go and make it viral.
00:43:34
What? We've said that several times here today, but that's exactly what they're out there for.
00:43:38
So yeah, always, always be prudent.
00:43:40
Always be careful, and people don't mind being purposely misleading.
00:43:43
So, like, you know, you'll purposely leave out certain information that's gonna rile up people a little bit more and kind of, you know, allude to something.
00:43:51
And then when someone calls you all you like Oh, no, no, no, no, no.
00:43:53
See? See, this is this is what I was getting at.
00:43:56
And then you can kind of, you know, play the fence on that.
00:43:58
So it's like you're playing both sides of the field.
00:44:00
So, um yeah, and anyway so it's It's basically led to just just nonstop speculation every day.
00:44:08
And it kind of goes into what I was saying yesterday that hey, talking about the face of leaks.
00:44:13
Still, I don't wanna hear about Patrick Mahoney.
00:44:15
I don't wanna hear about.
00:44:16
Lamar Jackson was longest on Brady's still playing football.
00:44:18
He's going to be the face of league and and really, you know, again, we've seen Patrick Mahomes, the media's new darling, win a Super Bowl and have not, you know, in my opinion, overtaking that.
00:44:33
I mean, yeah, he's He's a great young player.
00:44:34
He's one of the great young players in the league.
00:44:36
I'm not saying he's not.
00:44:38
What I'm saying is, you know the most popular, both positively and negatively.
00:44:44
I mean, let's be real here that it goes both ways.
00:44:46
The post most popular athlete in the world when it comes to the NFL, is Tom Brady.
00:44:51
The most recognizable athletes still is.
00:44:54
Tom Brady, the most relevant professional superstar athlete in the NFL, is still Tom Brady because yes, did they want a Super Bowl this year? No, But have they won? Three of the last five or three of the last six have gone to four of the last six.
00:45:07
Yes, and of course you know, at 42 years old, you know, someone said, Oh, the reason they're talking about him is because he's a 42 year old.
00:45:14
Uh, because he's a free agent.
00:45:16
It's like, Okay, how many 42 year old free agents get, you know, wall to wall coverage of speculation about who? Who they're going to each and every day, on top of the already rampant coverage that he gets Dan and day out from people either praising him or trying to tear his career part.
00:45:33
So again, To me, it's It's a no brainer that that that Tom is still to face this league, and it's only again these situations of Brady Quinn.
00:45:42
Every day, every day.
00:45:43
You know everyone in their mother coming out and talking about where he's going to go.
00:45:48
It just tells me like, Okay, you know, he's still the face.
00:45:51
He's still the most marketable player in this league.
00:45:53
He's the most recognizable player in this league, is the most just biggest on so many levels because player in this league and ah, you know, that's that's why people talk about him 24 7 just like we like to talk about 24 7 Absolutely no, it's true.
00:46:08
I mean, it really is, and you know you, it's It's such a an interesting I think exercise when it comes to how we portray our athletes and how they're how they're covered in how they're, you know, their images put out there for everyone to see.
00:46:26
And I think that in a lot of ways, polarizing athlete always becomes, I think, the most recognizable athlete.
00:46:34
We're seeing it in the n b a with Warren James, like you mentioned, we see it in Theo NFL with Tom Brady.
00:46:38
There's very, very little middle ground when it comes to these guys.
00:46:42
You either love him or you hate them, and I think in a lot of ways it's, Ah, it's that type of attention.
00:46:48
It's that type of, you know, the latching on to the people that want there to be negative attention.
00:46:52
And, look, you know, we've hopped on Jeff a little bit this morning.
00:46:55
There are other sources that are out there today that reporting that you know the time and the Patriots were supposed to meet this week in the combine.
00:47:03
They haven't even reached out, so it's not looking good.
00:47:05
I mean, there's all different kinds of information out there, Then these air sources that maybe are a little bit closer to him.
00:47:11
That and then originally thought however again, these air coming from rumblings.
00:47:17
And you're going to hear a lot of this when you get a lot of agents and a lot of, ah NFL representatives, whether it be from the team, whether it be from, you know, a source close to the Brady can't whoever Whenever you get people out there, these types of stories are gonna bubble, they're gonna fester.
00:47:36
Um, and it's amazing to me that this is hitting this week because, as it's combine week and all of these sources are all in the same spot.
00:47:45
So be careful who you take stock into the source.
00:47:49
That's all I'm gonna say, you know, to take these reports out there with the grain assault on, and I think that's exactly what you and I have been trying to say all along.
00:47:57
You know, you mentioned you know, the coverage and you mentioned the face of the NFL and what not.
00:48:02
I mean, I don't think there's any question that he is still the face of the NFL, and no matter where he goes next year, that's exactly how it's gonna be Tom on, currently 10 miles outside of Beaverton, unable to get inside the town proper.
00:48:15
We do not have any reports of fatalities yet, but we believe that the death toll may be in the hundreds of millions.
00:48:21
Beaverton has only a population of about 8000 Tom.
00:48:25
So this would be quite devastating.
00:48:26
Any word on how the survivors in the town are doing? Mitch? We're not sure what exactly is going on inside the town of Beaverton, Tom, but we're reporting that there's looting, raping, and, yes, even acts of cannibalism.
00:48:39
My God, you you've actually seen people looting, raping and eating each other? No.
00:48:44
No, we haven't actually seen it.
00:48:45
Tom, we're just reporting it.
00:48:49
I whenever we got it wasn't perfect.
00:48:52
Whenever we get on the conversations about this, I I I always go back to that clip because, like, it couldn't have summed up essentially what type of environment we're in.
00:49:05
You know, obviously we're talking about football, but in general sports, you know, politics, whatever.
00:49:11
It's the, uh oh, I love the line about Oh, they were reporting 150 million.
00:49:17
But in the fact that the population's only 100,000 it makes it remarkable.
00:49:22
It's like So you've seen this? It's like, No, no, we haven't seen this.
00:49:25
We're just reporting this.
00:49:26
I mean, that that couldn't sum up what we're talking about any better.
00:49:31
And I I'm glad I had I can share that with people.
00:49:34
And I hope people see that as well, because again, every time I see that clip, every time we get onto this topic where we're talking about, you know, they just how journalists whom is and all that stuff, it's I always think again.
00:49:46
I always laugh and think about that.
00:49:47
Could South Park nailed it? E tell you it was perfect.
00:49:52
It was absolutely perfect.
00:49:54
Now and again, it's It's we laugh, we joke or whatever.
00:50:00
But it's important for people to keep a level head and not get too, you know, back and forth through it.
00:50:05
If I had it, I could I could play another clip from actually that same episode where they're they're saying global warming is coming this way and then and then they start, you know, in a big mob running one direction and then, you know, like Oh, no, it's coming this way and they run back the opposite direction.
00:50:21
It's It's essentially the same thing.
00:50:22
It's like you know he's going to San Diego or he's going to, you know, Los Angeles or he's going to Las Vegas or Bubble.
00:50:29
But, you know, Miami, Tampa Bay, New Orleans.
00:50:32
Ah, you know a little Howard Dean in there.
00:50:34
You know, It's like the guy's gonna go on on on a cross country tour and visit every every team in the league and play for every team in the league next season, according to everyone.
00:50:44
So it's just it's it's a wild.
00:50:46
It's a wild way to be in.
00:50:48
And I just hope for my own sanity, really, that it gets resolved around March 16th 17th and 18th.
00:50:57
You really think that it's Yeah, yeah, let's let's just put it that way.
00:51:03
I really do hope that this can get resolves as close to the start of free agency is possible again, you know, I mean, there are a lot of victory laps being taken this morning already.
00:51:13
Take a look at your Twitter feeds my friends.
00:51:14
You'll see exactly what I'm referring thio, and I think that is very premature and, you know, beware of smoke screens so I'm gonna say beware of smoke screens because you know you can You can hide behind the check all you want to and use that as you know, as as a bully pulpit.
00:51:32
But it doesn't necessarily mean that there's a whole lot behind it.
00:51:37
Uh, just, you know, keep it up.
00:51:40
Keep an open mind, folks.
00:51:41
That's all I'm gonna say.
00:51:42
Just keep an open mind.
00:51:43
You're gonna see a lot floating around today.
00:51:45
And some of it may have looked like is not maybe is steamroll pulled, as as you may think it is now.
00:51:54
And, um yes, folks.
00:51:56
Ah, where those smoke screens, Especially if it's pot smoke, because, as we know it has killed them above.
00:52:18
Above all that stuff.
00:52:20
One of the big details that came out about a lot of this, and it makes a lot of sense.
00:52:24
Is New England really octomom many of their free agents? And a lot of that has to do with the impending potential of the C B A B in ratified and obviously that has gone to a vote and give some of the, you know, more vocal opposition to it.
00:52:41
I'm not too sure if it's it's gonna pass.
00:52:44
So so again, this is you know, if it does pass, it does open different possibilities for the Patriots and term how they're gonna manage their salary cap.
00:52:52
So it makes sense as to why they're not doing all this big business days before or week before.
00:52:59
If you're talking about a week or so ago, uh, before the potential of the C b A being a being put in place and changing a lot of what they're trying to do.
00:53:07
So, you know, it makes a lot of sense if this thing gets voted on and past tomorrow, you know, maybe you see a Tom Brady contract two days later, ABC, the Patriots start getting involved more with their own free agents.
00:53:20
If it doesn't pass, maybe you see the same exact thing.
00:53:23
But maybe it's just a little bit different as to what they were to offer him, you know, had the c b A been put into place.
00:53:30
So again, there's a lot of factors that go into this.
00:53:32
So this whole idea that they haven't talked yet, that means absolutely nothing.
00:53:35
It just means the Patriots are going about business as they always do, And that's usually one step ahead.
00:53:40
Because why would they make any sort of big financial decisions or make, you know, put a framework of a contract in place when the current structure of of the economy of the NFL could change literally in 24 hours? Eso again.
00:53:56
You just gotta be patient.
00:53:57
And by the time free agency rolls around, I hope, and I think I think first and then I hope second ah, that it will be, Ah, an issue that will be solved absolutely.
00:54:07
And I think you make a great point.
00:54:09
The C B A is a big reason why a lot of free agency talks and things of that nature have stalled and especially with the Patriots, were so dialed into that.
00:54:17
I know we've heard reports this week about people that are at the combine saying, Oh, well, you know teams around the league or wondering what Patriots going to do.
00:54:25
Well, what the hell were they doing? They haven't done anything.
00:54:27
Well, maybe it's because they really are playing chess when everyone else is playing checkers.
00:54:31
Another point of view to keep in mind with the Tom stories because I am getting inundated as we speak.
00:54:37
The sporting folks with stories of people that are telling me, Please don't let this be true.
00:54:42
This is actually not a dumb move for the Brady camps.
00:54:46
Have stuck putting these stories out there.
00:54:48
Maybe like the fire under the Patriots, feet a little bit and show that there is such an outpouring of support.
00:54:55
It's how the game is played.
00:54:57
We see negotiations like this all the time.
00:55:00
The late, great Kobe Bryant and his camp did this when he was considering leaving Los Angeles.
00:55:05
There were rumors he wanted to go to the Clippers.
00:55:07
He wanted to go to the Bulls.
00:55:08
He was going anywhere but New England.
00:55:10
Excuse me? No England say he was going anywhere but staying with Lakers.
00:55:15
He wanted out of the team.
00:55:17
He demanded a trade.
00:55:18
I mean, there was all and this is not just when he was going through the situation with Shack.
00:55:22
This is even later in his career, when he had a chance to move on after winning a couple of titles with Lamar Odom.
00:55:29
Paul Gasol type Laker teams ultimately ended up coming back because the two sides ended up coming together and a lot of what was out there was smoke and mirrors.
00:55:38
It was posturing.
00:55:39
It was playing the game, granny, and there will be stories that will be posted.
00:55:43
Maybe this afternoon, maybe tomorrow from the Patriots camp, about how Tom wants a little bit too much.
00:55:50
He's going a little bit too high in terms of what he thinks he's going to be worth.
00:55:55
This is part of how the game is played, folks.
00:55:58
So take that all for what you will.
00:56:00
I still believe he's coming back to New England, and that's not gonna change my mind.
00:56:04
These reports, you know, Jeff's report this morning.
00:56:07
I've seen, um, you know, reporters, you know, local reporters that are, you know, putting the story out there as well.
00:56:14
And you know, people that I respect very highly that were saying these stories, and I'm in no way imputing their work at all.
00:56:22
They've been at this a lot longer than I have folks.
00:56:24
So, you know, I'm not I'm definitely not saying Oh, well, they're wrong, and I'm right.
00:56:28
But at the end of the day, I think this is more about posturing than anything else.
00:56:32
And actually, I don't think it's really a very poor move on non Brady's behalf.
00:56:36
I think it's smart to get this stuff out there, start showing the Patriots the public reaction to this because they are dialed into it.
00:56:42
Folks, don't let them fool you.
00:56:44
They're not a team that's going to just make moves with this cold, calculated spirit that's not going to have any type of bearing.
00:56:52
They want to sell tickets.
00:56:53
They want the team to be popular if it gets out there that the Patriots let Tom Brady walk away to end the keys to the kingdom over to Jarrett Stidham, who takes this team to a seven and nine record next year, that is not going to sit well in Fox Borough.
00:57:07
Interest isn't there's already a festering in the Boston sports market.
00:57:11
Already, people are fed up with the Red Sox.
00:57:14
The Celtics and Bruins were playing pretty well right now, so that's got people at least a little excited.
00:57:18
But the Patriots of the King right now, when it comes to the Boston Sports Truck Quartet so they'll have a big problem on their hands if if it comes out that Brady was willing to deal, and the Patriots weren't willing to come back and try to meet him halfway.
00:57:33
That's something that's very important.
00:57:35
Maybe not so much the Belichick, but definitely the Robert Kraft know any? He's obviously indicated that he wants Tom Brady back because just like clockwork, every day, two minutes left, that's a 60.
00:57:48
This is our two minute warning.
00:57:50
Folks way like Thio serenade you with the great brother Love song, you know, because we we like to end every episode on a positive note.
00:58:00
And that's that's what I'm getting at here is that Robert Kraft has already professed his love on every on many occasions for Tom Brady, and and he has said that he would love to have him back, and they will do anything possible.
00:58:14
Thou again, again, that could be a little bit of posturing, but I generally believe him because I think I think Robert's being very sincere and very you know, he cares for Tom and his family and everything like that.
00:58:25
So at the end of the day, I think that's what's ultimately making me feel comfortable that this will happen because, uh, this isn't a team that's, you know, throwing out any doubt that he's gonna be gone.
00:58:38
They they want him back.
00:58:40
I think Robert wants him back.
00:58:41
Despite what people say.
00:58:42
I think they'll want him back.
00:58:44
I don't think he wants to.
00:58:45
You know, this whole idea he wants to win on his own this bubble butt.
00:58:50
He wants time. They love Tom. New England.
00:58:52
Love stop.
00:58:53
The NFL should love Tom.
00:58:54
And if we're lucky, he'll be able to play for a couple more years and hopefully it will be in New England because I just can't see him in any other jersey.
00:59:02
Yes, I know we talked about all the quarterbacks in the history that have gone elsewhere, but I can't see him.
00:59:08
Just like I can't see us not being here tomorrow at 8 a.m.
00:59:11
So, folks, thank you for tuning in one more time.
00:59:13
Just as we are here Monday through Friday.
00:59:15
We will be here tomorrow, 80 m hopefully to 9 a.
00:59:19
m.
00:59:20
Thio talk more sports with hopefully maybe a conclusion to the CVS.
00:59:24
So give us falling towards that I g l e and 31 he is at m B A B a t e f p c.
00:59:30
Have a great day, folks.
00:59:31

00:05:39
and nine.
00:59:31
We'll see in the morning
