What's going on, everybody? It's your boy, Ray.
And welcome to my little show here called DPM.
Sports Talk Live casted on SportsCastr the New England Patriots.
They need a star.
The New England Patriots need a tight end in the New England Patriots.
I'm going to be discussing this in a whole lot more tonight here on D p n, because we like football.
We like football season and everything that goes with it.
And if you are watching this replay on YouTube, don't forget to hit, subscribe and hit that like button.
And if you like to watch my show every day, I've left the length of my sportscast a profile in the description.
So look, guys, it is probably the worst kept secret that the New England Patriots are in desperate, desperate need for a top flight top talent.
Any way you want to phrase it. Tight end.
Now, I think a lot of you know the Patriots were originally linked to the L A Chargers Hunter Henry, and he was set to become a free agent.
But there's been recent reports that the Chargers are actually more than likely going to use the franchise tag on him, and that's eliminating what apparently was the Patriots top choice at free agency and also one of the best tight ends in free agency in this year.
This season, it could be the best tight end in the in free agency this year.
But fortunately for the New England Patriots, Austin Hooper, who will be going out of the market and according to him, is going to start exploring free agency now.
He was on Instagram yesterday, and you let all the Atlanta Falcon fans know that he's been told to hit the road.
Move on, go explore free agency.
When he put a picture of himself waving to the Atlanta fans with a caption saying Quote told me to hit the road, L A.
Well, not up to me now.
He has since the lead it, I guess.
Atlanta wasn't happy about or what it may be, but that's the reality of where we are right now with Austin Hooper.
So with Henry, hold on.
Forget Henry for ***.
Let's talk about for a minute.
Why Austin Hooper would not be re signing with the Falcons.
Why would the Falcons let one of the best tight ends on the market go well.
The reality of that is the Atlanta Falcons can't afford to re sign him this season.
Atlanta is pathetic is they've been on Lee, have $5 million left in cap space, and Hooper's gonna demand a lot of money.
It's now being expected that he's gonna be given a contract somewhere in the range of five years, $50 million.
And that number makes a whole lot of sense.
He just turned 25 years old right now, 59 regular season games with the Falcons.
He caught 214 balls, totally 2224 yards in 16 touchdowns.
And if the Patriots can't get their hands on Henry because the charges do go ahead and use a franchise tag, I think that Bill Bell check should really consider signing Hooper.
The kid's coming off back to back Pro Bowl appearances, and it makes me sick that I'm now referring to 25 year olds.
Kid, what do you make an instant? And I mean instant impact on New England's offense and look, it's been my opinion for a long time that the Patriots tight end position is much more important in them.
Finding a new wide receiver If Bill Ball check is going to spend big money and free agency like he'd be way better off investing into a tight end rather than trying to spend money on a receiver, especially in a season when he'll probably be able just to draft one and look whether you want to admit it or not, A. J.
Green does not solve the Patriots offensive problems.
The good news is somebody like Austin Hooper will go a long way into correcting some of those deficiencies that the Patriots are dealing with this year and if for some reason and really shouldn't be shocking with Bill Bell check.
But if for some reason Hooper's contract is too expensive, there are other options on the market the Patriots could explore sign and somebody like Tyler Eifert.
I mean, the guy's had a pretty solid career with Cincinnati Bangles.
I guess the only problem I would have with him coming to New England would be his health.
He's had a problem staying healthy.
Is that a problem staying on the field? I think this year was his only full season in the National Football League.
So I mean, come on, Bill.
If you're gonna take money and you're gonna put it into a position, if you're gonna put it into a player, invest a little bit more.
Put the big money in Austin Hooper.
He seems like No, I didn't seem like he is the best option for the New England Patriots right now.
And look, he's not gonna come in and be Gronk, okay? He's not quite Rob Gronkowski.
He's not the reincarnation.
He's not going to do everything that Gronk did.
But Hooper can come on to the Patriots, and he could be a solid contributor to the Africa offense almost immediately.
And he'll give whoever is playing quarterback for the Patriots a solid option.
And look, I mean, let's just face it, guys, if you're a Patriots fan, you know this better than I do.
He's obviously much better than anybody who played on the 2019 squad.
And the reality is, the New England Patriots can't go through another season fielding a tight end group like you did last year.
I mean, if they went during, I mean, you got to think about it Ben Watson, Matt Lacoste and Ryan is Oh, were the three tight ends of the Patriots.
I've read reports that more than half the tight ends in the NFL more than half had more catches in more yards.
In all, three of those guys combined Patriots half to address the tight end situation way more than they have to address a wide receiver.
You can draft a receiver, it's loaded with receivers.
And even at the end of the day, if ballot check did spend the money on Hooper, he's still not done.
I mean, he would still have to draft a tight end to be a solid number two.
Matt Lacoste would be a great good number three for the Patriots, but I think he proved us last season.
They tried him at number one.
They tried him at number two.
The top two spots on offense is not good for him.
He needs to be third on the depth chart, and there's options for solid number twos.
Fad Moss, Jared Pinkney, Jacob Breeland.
All those guides air fantastic blockers.
They could all come into the Patriots.
They could all be effective almost immediately.
And look, I know I get it, and I can already foresee the comments.
Bill Belichick is known as thrifty when it comes to money in the Patriots salary.
And, you know, usually when a guy like Austin Hooper hits the market, we like that fun and say, Oh, man, I hope that patrons go out and sign them, But we all know deep down you could just count him out.
There's no way Ballot Jack's gonna spend 10 year on a tight end, but I'm looking at this season manner thinking If New England does plan on re signing Tom Brady, Bella Check needs to make sure that he gives him proper weapons so he can have some success this year.
And those weapons started the tight end position.
And look, there are other options besides the free agent market.
Besides the draft, the Patriots could try to make me look for a trade.
Now the Pats have been linked to a possible trade with the Baltimore Ravens, looking at their tight end Hate and Hearst.
He's not Austin Hooper, but it would definitely be a nup grade from last year's team.
Maybe that's where we're at now when we talk about the New England Patriots.
I mean, we're not even talking superstars now.
We're just looking for upgrades, but really, at this time when I'm sitting here looking at all, I don't see a reason why the Patriots couldn't sign Hooper and make the trade for hers at the same time.
And look at the end of the day, only time will tell if Bill Ball check is really interested in bringing Austin Hooper or really any free agent tight ends to the New England Patriots for the 2020 season.
But I think that one thing that we all know for sure at some point in time, whether it's through free agency through trade through the draft, Bill Belichick is going to have to address the tight end spot, and he's going to have to bring a legitimate offensive threat to the New England Patriots.
And yet, again, I want to thank everybody who's tuning in here.

Let's keep this party rolling as we keep talking about football, we keep talking about baseball.
We talk about everything else, but one thing I want to talk about now.
Story came out today saying that the Oakland Raiders are happy with Derek Carr, and I mean, that one kind of took me for a little bit of a loop.
I wantto let's backtrack a little bit.
I want you to imagine for a second let your Derek Carr.
I want you to imagine that you're 28 years old, turning 29 in March, kind of entering the prime of your career as an NFL quarterback.
And all you keep hearing about is a 43 year old quarterback possibly taking your job and how that must make you feel absolutely awful awful about yourself.
And, you know, so we all know that the Oakland Raiders of leaked to the media because they can't tamper that they're willing to pay Tom Brady two years, $60 million.
Is that coming from Mike Mayock? Is that coming from, um, Davis? We don't know, but it's there.
But Mike Mac, you know, he was taking questions today.
They were like, Hey, man, what are you gonna do with Derek Carr if you're going after Tom Brady? Are you looking for guys in the draft? What's his future with you? May I? You know, he kind of defended his quarterback today.
Here's what he said about him, he said.
The guy completed 70% of his passes.
He had almost 33 toe, one touchdown to interception ratio.
I think we're number 11 in the league.
We were seventh in third down conversions, May OC told reporters that included the Athletics Vic Tafur.
We did a lot of really good things on offense last year.
The disconnect was we didn't score a lot of points.
You're 11 yards and 24 points.
That's an issue.
And you know what, guys? That is an issue.
Yards air great, but you need to be able to score.
Scoring is the number.
One thing that you have to do has a quarterback.
But the Raiders have bigger problems in the quarterback.
I'll tell you that right now.
Bigger problems than Derek Carr.
Their defense was ranked according to pro football outsiders, and I'm making this up as I go here because I'm trying.
Remember the stat? I looked it up today.
I did research for this, but I believe that they were ranked 27th.
They're rate of 27th.
They're rated 27th overall in DV Away, they were 31st in pass defense and something like 20th in rush defense.
I mean, you've got to give your quarterback a fighting chance.
Patriot fans, man.
I mean, you saw that for years with Tom Brady, right? How many times a Brady had to put up 40 points is to win a game.
And I mean, it's a thing like into me.
It's almost as if they've been trying to move on from Derek Carr for, like, the last three or four years.
They just either never had the balls to do it or whatever.
Maybe, and I mean in May, you know, So whatever he comes out and he goes, you know he's our guy.
But then he says this.
He says, quote, It's defense.
It's special teams.
It's not scoring in the red zone, and it's, you know, it's not scoring and gold to go to me.
Those are issues Derek Carr played at a high level.
I'm very happy with their car.
What I've told everybody I've been in touch with since the day I took this job is we're going to evaluate every position every year.
And if we can get better, we will end. Quote.
If I am a football player, if I'm Derek Carr, a guy who's fighting for his job, those kind of words concern me.
Why are you still evaluating me as your quarterback? Why are we in a situation where you are? I'm gonna be 29 years old.
I'm going into the prime.
I'm either your quarterback or I'm not.
I shouldn't have to be evaluated.
It's the same thing that's going on in Tampa Bay with Jameis Winston.
You know, I was talking about Winston last week and I said it.
He's either your quarterback or he's not.
The Raiders had three draft picks last year in the first round.
I mean, they could have taken a quarterback, then forget about Daniel Jones starting for them, somebody of that nature.
My question is, who are the Las Vegas Raiders? And here's a question for everybody.
And honestly, I want you to think about this this Tom Brady really make that big of a difference? The Oakland or to L.
Or to Las Vegas.
Jesus, Why can't people I can get teams just stay in their own cities? But it's Tom bring.
Is Tom Brady really going to make an impact? Is he really gonna be like, Oh, my God, Tom Brady's here Suddenly we're gonna be No, I think it's gonna be more of the same.
I think you got running backs and won't be able to penetrate on the goal line.
Same thing we saw in New England.
I think they're gonna be 11th tense, ninth in the yards again.
Maybe up there, scoring a little bit.
The defense is still going to stock even through the draft.
Get rid of guys like Khalil Mack. That's what's gonna happen.
Tom Brady's gonna walk in.
He's gonna want to run the Patriots offense.
That's not gonna happen right away or ever.
You know, Jon Gruden's not a player's coach.
You know, that's the day Tom Brady wants to feel appreciated.
You know, if he goes to Las Vegas, no underappreciated, he's gonna feel Bill Belichick makes it very clear when you're in the new angle pages locker room.
He is the dictator.
It's no different in L.
With Gruden of Las Vegas with Gruden.
Does he really think that that Jon Gruden would be any different? Gruden's also getting a reputation as a coach for the game has passed him not adapting to the new game.
We'll have to see.
I don't know if I'm Derek Carr.
I'm and I'm ****ed right now.
I'm ****ed about everything going on.
If I'm him, all right, let's talk about our good friends in New York.
Giants news broke today that the New York Giants have decided to part way with a pair of linebackers.
They moved on from outside linebacker Cream Martin and the one that it wasn't shocking, but I still can't believe they did it.
Alec Ogletree and they cut.
Those two guys are going to say about 13.
5 million cap space.
But you know, to me, Ogle Tree must have been a tough decision for the Giants.
That really had to have been, I mean, to me.
He's been just probably one of the more outstanding players Last two years in New York.
On defense, he recorded 173 sacks, 173 tackles.
The guy's a sack machine, he said.
40,000 records, all in the same year, 173 tackles.
He would have had had two sacks.
It's six interceptions that's in two years.
The moves that we saw today by the Giants.
This what it indicates to me.
The Giants defense is now gonna go through a significant rebuilt, you know, and there's rumors floating around.
The Giants aren't done.
There are more prominent defenders on the Giants right now who may be looking for new employment before free agency rolls around.
I've heard of thing about defensive lineman to so Patriot fans keep an eye out for that one.
You know, he's was selected as a team defensive captain last season.
So outside of all these personnel changes, the Giants defense is also gonna be going through new leadership.
Here's the thing.
The Giants had the 27th Worst Devi away in the NFL, according to football outsiders, because the Raiders had 31st.
Those were the two I was screwing up.
They're the 27th worst TV away, and that ranking was poor because of their past defense.
The Giants ranked 31st in the league in pass defense last year.
Here's the thing there. Run.
Defense was actually solid.
It was better, almost better.
That was better than the Patriots.
They ranked seventh overall in DV Away, and I have to assume that Oak Trees 80 tackles, that a big part of that defense is success.
That's why I never really understood why they were so desperately trying to move on from him, you know? And now, with these moves, the Giants about $62 million in cap space.
That's according to over the cap.
They also the fourth overall pick.
Now we know New York is set a quarterback with Daniel Jones.
I think he's gonna be a good quarterback.
He shouldn't have started last season, but he's going to stop.
But I think he's gonna be a good quarterback.
So I either have to assume that were possibly gonna see the Giants trade down, or they're gonna be going after one of those big name defenders.
Obviously, Chase Young is not in the picture.
He's gonna go for second overall right after Joe Burrow.
But if the Giants do take some of the fourth round.
There's some really good option for them.
You got out of Ohio State, the Ohio State University.
You got cornerback Jeff ***uda.
That would probably be light ages what they've gotten out of their past defenders this season.
But if they wanted to replace the linebackers, Isaiah Simms out of Clemson is a fantastic, ah, linebacker that they could go after.
And it looks like, Boom.
As I said, I see it right on my sports guy.
Seeing someone else just said it.
You also got they could go after defensive linemen because I really like Derek Brown out of Auburn.
I think he's gonna be a really, really solid defensive lineman in the NFL.
So those are three option they have, you know.
And no matter how bad the Giants passed defense was last year, Ogle Tree is actually a pretty underrated coverage guy.
He's super athletic, but I also got you know it's a money thing.
Prior to his release, Ogle Tree was gonna be the fourth highest paid inside linebacker in the NFL.
Why do you care? Because I felt like I needed to fill time.
That's why you care.
And because I had to fill time, I'm gonna tell you who the hell he was behind.
He was behind Bobby Wagner from Seattle.
He was behind San Francisco's Kwon Alexander and he was resigned.
CJ Mosley out of the New York Jets.
How do you like that time filler right there? Another guy that the pain of the Giants have also been linked to? Or the New England Patriots? Kyle Van Noy.
I think by this point we all know the patrons probably won't be able to re sign him.
Head coach Joe Judge, former special teams coordinator, wide receiver coach knows Kyle Vanoy.
You know so well that familiarity there and the cap space to pay him.
It was probably a lot of truth to the rumors, man.
Look, ultimately, it's going to be tough for the Giants to replace him.
There is a lot of leadership they're gonna need to replace.
But as I say, leadership is situational.
It's not an undoable task for the Giants.
I think the only thing right now that we know for sure, though, is that the New York the New York Giants defense is going to look very, very different than it did last year.
All right, guys, it's all I got for football today.
If you're just here to hear me talk about football, now is your time to leave.
If you're a baseball fan, I invite you to stay, but it's spring training baseballs around the corner.
I'm not smart enough to talk about basketball and hockey, so I'm here to talk about my other passion.
I don't get to talk.
I didn't get to talk about it a whole lot on YouTube.
Try and point out a video today that nobody was interested in.
I ended up just leaving it, but I can't talk about it here.
SportsCastr lets me.
They like it as I just watched the viewers drop.
Drop, drop, drop.
I'm gonna go talk about baseball.
The hell with all of you! I wanna welcome every that's here, my boy.
Chris, Josh is in the house.
The party Welcome.
He's not picking g****s today.
Happy to hear Joe, of course, is here, my boy.
Make chicken vlogs.
I mean, you want to talk about a nog you want to talk about a nog with d p n him and Joe all the way back to the Donald Donald Days on dear Pats Nation yogis air in the house.
Thank you for coming in, Tyler.
Thank you for being here.
Probably wondering who the hell Daniel O'Donnell is.
Oh, bring back. Donny.
Donny is retired.
Dani is sitting at all Flanagan's pub right now, chatting with I forget who his friends were, but chatting with his friends about every crazy ass New England Patriots conspiracy on the market.
Maybe, just maybe, I'm working and I'm cooking on something right now, but I can't talk about him.
So sorry that I can't talk about it, But if everything works out the way I'm hoping it works out and I'm able to accomplish what I'm hoping I'm able to accomplish.
I'm gonna tell you right now.
Right now, Chris.
Joe, make chicken.
Blog's the yogis.
If what happens that I wanna happen happens and you guys don't know what it is, I can't talk about it.
But if it happens and I should know in the next few days, that's what we're getting, too.
Now it's been a hard, I promise you I will bring Dani O'Donnell here for the press conference.
I will bring Daniel O'Donnell here for the announcement.
I give you my word, and if I forget, bring it up.
All right, let's talk a little bit about baseball.
I want to talk about the little bit.
I want to talk about the Boston Red Sox for a minute.
The Royal blogged about this today, but it's really around.
Chris Sale, Eduardo Rodriguez and Nathan Eovaldi.
And when I look at the A L East like a Tampa like a Baltimore looking New York like a Toronto being from Toronto, the aliases when I watch a lot because we got Boligee games here.
So watch all the Blue Jays games.
When I look at the A L East, I don't think there's a better 123 I really don't.
I know people can argue with me, but I don't think it's a better 123 in the East and in baseball you have to do is win your division because anybody baseball's a game anybody can win on any day.
The worst team in the league.
If you put them in the playoffs could win the World Series.
Hands down, that's B.
It's almost why I love baseball, because the season I know making the playoffs means something, but yeah, I mean, I know that that means something, but in baseball number one with the limited spots, but number two because it's a game that any team can win on any given day.
And really, when the best pictures come alive, the regular season means everything.
And it's hardly ever that we don't have a stretch down September.
We're the big run, you know, and people can say that the Boston Red Sox have a lot of issues.
But again, I think that sail Rodrigues and evolved E r firm anchors for this 2020 season look, and I, admittedly am not a Boston Red Sox fit.
I am not a Boston Red Sox fan.
Some people know who a cheer for.
Some people don't.
It started a whole thing the last time we talked about it, so let's just keep our mouths zip.
But I think that most Red Sox fans probably would love to forget the 2019 season.
I mean, they were coming off the World Series in 2018 and then kind of just really all fell apart.
No injuries was a big part of themselves, was a big part of it.
And in poor pitching, they found himself third in the A L East.
They were like 19 games behind the Yankees, 12 games behind Tampa Bay, who ended up getting the wild card.
And look, there's a lot of things you can point to.
Pitching was the problem.
Eduardo Rodriguez was the only bright spot of the Red Sox last year.
We have, like 19 wins, a 3 81 e r. A.
Outside of Rodriguez, the pitching was awful.
Oh, my God, You want to talk about the shell of somebody who once won a Cy Young Award finish 14 wins a 5 32 e r a.
Then you're David Price has been the biggest disappointment since he signed a $217 million contract back in 2015.
Alex, andthe opposite the Blue Jays ever did, was not pay him the money when he left the Blue Jays when he became a free agent, because what a disappointment that turned into in Boston.
Seven wins a 4 20 eight e r A.
And then you have the lefty Chris Sale.
He's that better years in 2019 guys.
A seven time All Star starts only 25 games.
Of 4 40 guys go like a 33.
33 30 are a career average.
He wins six games.
Here's the thing that was last season.
This is 2020 guy, obviously still the fourth and fifth spot of the rotations.
They're street with questions out of doubt, but 123 Chris Sale.
Nathan Eovaldi should be more than enough for the Red Sox to compete knees.
Tampa Bay comes back pretty intact with, like 400,000 positional players.
I mean, they got more positional play, so they know what to do with them.
They got like a platoon for every position.
We'll see what they're pitching.
Does the Yankees? They got streaky power hitters have questionable pitching, right? We just learned yesterday, Luis, Every Ceferino.
I don't know why I can't see them fast. Louise Submarino.
So for the season had to get Tommy John surgery.
They made some off. They made some off season moves they brought in right.
You have a young core, but they're probably still a season.
Maybe it's two seats and maybe a season and 1/2 away from being true contenders.
And in Baltimore is Baltimore.
Nobody in the Eats to me pops out.
Aziz surefire winners.
So with the Red Sox having the top of the top rotation and 123 it'll keep them competitive.
Because again, all you gotta do is win the East.
Look at the A keys back in 2009 right? Look at the eggs back to last night with a three man rotation when they won the World Series, and they went with A J.
Burnett, CC, Sabathia and Andy Pettitte and won a World Series with a three man rotation.
So look, we already know what sailing Rodriguez are.
I wouldn't worry about Sale.
I know he's hurt.
I know he's got pneumonia.
You know, I I don't know.
Maybe his leg's gonna fall off.
They got a surgically reattach it.
He'll get some weird.
He'll probably catch Corona virus, you know? I mean, like, I know that if it can happen to Chris Sale, it's gonna happen.
But he's such a good pitcher.
He's the shooting for opening day with him.
I think you'll be okay.
They got a lot more problem or a lot less problems in the Yankees do. Right now.
They've lost every no Giancarlo Staten.
Every time the Yankees put big money into a player, he's a Rod part two.
I actually goes for a saying that A Rod was more reliable for the Yankees, and Stanton has been.
He's gonna miss the beginning of the season again.
It is what it is this season, I think, comes down a Nathan Eovaldi.
I think that he's an underrated, middle of the rotation kind of guy.
When he's healthy, he's able to toy with batters from the bump, and if he can start having a little bit of a repeat, and I know he came in his relief.
But what he did in 2018 in the world, Siris.
That's exactly what the Red Sox will need out of him and obviously doing some middle relief.
It's very different in starting, but again, when you look around the East, he's better than every other team's fourth option, absolutely better than every other team's fourth option.
It is probably as good or better than almost every other third pitcher, you know.
And so it all comes down to him and look the socks, man.
They shook up their lineup.
They got rid of the bomb.
They traded away Mookie Betts, and if any other team in the league, I would have done what I'd done that I would have written him off for the season.
But not this Red Sox team number one with all the you know, the Red Sox team.
When controversies in the air, man, that's what brings them together.
This will cheating scandal out square being fired.
It's gonna come together.
And in their inter manager, you know, ran icky.
He's pushing the players.
He's pushed them harder than Alex ever pushed them.
He's stretching out his pictures.
He's making them ready.
So you know they have a salt of the top rotation.
They still have a really solid line up, even with bets out of it.
I know Pedroia has been put on the d l, but he's later i'il these, but he's like 1000 years old.
You know, I know this other guy.
I'm gonna talk about it so much of the stick.
But Kevin Polar could be one of most underrated moves that they made this season.
When he was here in Toronto, they knew his nickname was Superman.
I don't know if that's still his nickname.
The guy made. He can play the whole outfield.
He started in left field, went to write, and then they moved to the center.
The guy makes absolutely disgusting defensive plays.
I know you can't put a statistical value to it, but I'm sure sure that he is stolen games from teams.
I am sure that he has our stolen run from teams.
He helps ers of his picture.
He's a great defensive player, so I mean, look, it's it's Pierce solid.
They're solid from front bottom in and guys, it is February 26th the Toronto Blue Jays and the Boston Red Sox.
I will probably call the game live here so we can all smack talk each other cause I will cheer.
Listen, when I cheer for the Blue Jays, because our hometown there are hometown team, my allegiance falls somewhere else.
But if they're not playing that team, I cheer for them because I like to see good things happen in Toronto.
Except for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
I don't want to see anything good happen in Toronto.
Maple Leafs Morris.
So I could just give it to my friends for the rest of the rest of their life.
I can't tell you you don't understand the ****storm it cause the last time it came out.
It rhymes with Yankees.
But, ah, watch the older videos.
I'll tell you how.
When I started watching baseball in 1999 yeah, 1999? Ah, the Blue Jay sucked.
My dad would make me watch games with him, and I just watched the Blue Jays lose and lose and lose.
And then you got it.
And then there was the shortstop named Derek Jeter, and this is how, and that's it. All went here.
It's how it all went.
You know, the I was a big Bernie Williams fans, you know, I'm a big fan of Bernie Williams.
Yeah, the other big guy was a big Bernie.
One fan love Derek Jeter kind of looked up to him.
I was a ****ty ball player, but I looked up to him, and so I became a Yankee fan.
Am I die hard? Yankee fan like I'm a diehard Patriot fan.
No, I I wouldn't say that.
I wouldn't say that at all.
How did you feel about one Mark Wahlberg? Yeah.
I mean, those were the guys.
Those were the guys.
Jeter, Posada core four, right? Andy Pettitte.
I Actually, when Roger Clemens came to the back to the Yankees, I didn't like Roger Clemens.
I didn't like I'm not in a Rod fan.
I was never in a rod fan.
Um, you know that kind of stuff.
So it's it's, you know, like I said, I wouldn't say I'm a die hard with when it comes to baseball's a sport that I can actually sit down and watch any team on any night.
And, um, I like watching good games.
I was a Yankee fan when you guy, when the you guys are playing the Dodgers, I was quietly chan for the Red Sox A because a lot of my viewers were Red Sox fans and I wanted good things to happen to them.
Ah, but be I just, um I hated the Dodgers.
Ah, and it's, you know, and I mean, it's hard, like one of my favorite players of all time.
I legit have this in my office because I'm such a big poppy fan.
I mean, I don't know how anybody whether you're a Yankee fan or not, I don't know how people cannot like David Ortiz.
The guy is like the perfect story.
And ah, yeah, he's the perfect story.
I mean, when that whole Boston Marathon thing happened and he came out and said, This is our city and how do you not get behind that kind of thing? Man, I have a deep rooted.
I'm not one of those like Yankee fans that hate Boston family.
Hey, Boston number one, because I'm a Patriots fan.
I come across a lot of Boston fans, but number two of a deep rooted respect for the Boston Red Sox.
You'll never catch me in a Red Sox jersey, but you know, it's Ah, you cheer for Ryan.
Yeah, I hate the Cardinals.
I hate the Cardinals so much.
Only time in my life I ever cheered for the Houston taxes or ah, no, not the Houston Texans.
The Texas not Houston taxes.
Are they Rangers? Texas Rangers.
Jesus, I got really messed up there.
The Texas Rangers.
That's who I was thinking of.
How do I think G Gina's doing? Man? Um, I think that, uh okay, let me let me put it this way.
Because I don't want to disrespect my boy Derek.
I get what he's doing, but I think that it's it's really to me.
Kind of funny about a guy who played for a team that had an open checkbook with unlimited funds is now cheapest **** when it comes to his players.
So I'm gonna say, that's all I'm gonna say.
And ah, yeah, So I'm gonna say I do want to talk about the Toronto Blue Jays.
Oh, if I could, before we wrap this up.
And, uh, if we could all not make comments on my YouTube page, a Twitter page and I'm a Yankee fan because it really did cause a lot of **** for me the last time.
And I'd like to just move on from that Joma chicken blog's.
I'm sure you remember quite clearly.
Um, well, let's just just leave that be.
Here's a cool stat for you.
Vladimir Guerrero's Sr Dante Pichette and Craig Biggio having combined 6700 won games.
They have a combined 28,000 419 plate appearances.
They have combined 20 All Star games, three accomplished ballplayers and now Vlad Guerrero Jr.
Boba Shet in Cabin B.
Geo are all Toronto Blue Jays and I can tell you, man, even the mo if you're the most casual of baseball fans, if it was probably around 2018 that we started hearing these rumblings around here about these three kids in the minor leagues just ripping it up, we're all about Vlad Junior.
But then I remember a buddy of mine was it must have been 2017 2018 and we're talking about Flat Junior all What's Vlad Junior gonna be like a bubble? You know what I mean? He's a kid himself, right? My body looks me goes, you have lads go, But watch this Boba shut Kidman, he says, Watch this bow bush at kid.
You watch how good he's gonna be, and then my other body goes.
And they got Craig Biggio's kid, too. We don't even know his name.
We just knew his Craig Be Joe's kids.
What is called him be Joe's kid.
And then, obviously he's his cabin.
And you got three sons, carpets, ballplayers and really, they're probably giving the Toronto Blue Jays fan base so much hope.
And look, we're seeing some really different marks.
A pyro is probably the most hated executive I've ever seen in my life.
The city of Toronto hates him, and I see the way Boston fan Celtic fans are with their GM and Red Sox fan.
But trust and obviously the way people are with the Patriots, Trust me.
Nobody is hated more than my.
Then marched a pyro in Toronto, and it's basically he came in second, exact opposite approach of our last regime, our last regime President Paul Beast in general, manager Alex and Thoughtless.
They hemorrhage the future.
They traded away.
Noah Syndergaard, Tredway, Brett Lawrie, Trade away Future brought in.
Josh Donaldson R A.
****ey at some point brought him David Price, Troy Tulowitzki again, guys who are starting to get into the twilight of their career.
Russell Martin but that a core man, Jose Batista, brought us the bat flip heard around the world.
And there's a great force of man.
But it was an old an old corps.
Jose Batista started peaking when he was 32 years old.
He had his prime 33 was already an old man by the time he did it.
Is the utility guy before came to Toronto.
Let's Edwin Encarnacion walk.
Eventually let Jose Batista walk trades away. Donaldson.
You know, Blue Jay fans hadn't seen their team in the playoffs since 1993 in 2015.
They go to the A.
S 2016 to go back to the LCS, get knocked up to the Royals.
And you know, when you look at all that, you break it all down.
It really waas a tough thing when he comes in and kind of breaks up.
The corps, the Corps that brought baseball back to Toronto.
I used to love going to Bluejay games.
I'll tell you why.
So back in I met my wife back in 2005 and anybody who goes to Fenway Park this is gonna blow your mind because I know that I tried to get tickets to Fenway and I basically told you gotta go in like, a three year waiting list.
Okay, let me tell your story.
2005 Met my wife.
Take her on a date.
We're together for a couple of few months.
Let's say you want to go blue Jay game with me.
You got tickets and I will get tickets When I get down there, I walk up to the box office 15 minutes before first pitch.
They're facing the Washington Nationals, which was a big game in Toronto because was the same year that they switched from moved from Montreal.
So was all the old Expos players.
Roy Halladay is on the mound, our ace forever.
I walk up to the box office.
I buy tickets four rows up from the field behind home plate 15 minutes before first pitch, and then the Blue Jays got good and all of a sudden it was costing 145 bucks to sit in the nosebleeds.
We had two knee Tuesday in Toronto forever because they couldn't get anybody in the stadiums cost you two blocks to sit in the five hundreds.
So you buy the ticket for two box and then you would walked down the ramp and just take one of the empty seats in the lower bowl.
The only time that the stadium ever got folds of the Yankees of the Red Sox were in town.
The only time that that stadium ever filled up and then 2015 came around.
Brought baseball back to Toronto, brought the Blue Jays back to the playoffs.
And suddenly you couldn't get a ticket.
My dad and my sister went to, Ah, the first playoff game and in Toronto against the Royals in the A.
C s pay $230 a ticket.
Canadian and their heads were literally almost hitting the rafter.
They were sitting so high 55,000 persons stadium completely sold out.
So we went from me painting cash ah, 100 bucks, a ticket that said four rows up from behind home plate.
2 $230 a ticket where you've probably had a better view from the skysc****r across the street.
And you did sitting in the stadium Toronto is a bandwagon city.
Town is not a hockey town.
People will tell you that Toronto's a hockey town.
It's not because of the leaf starring in it.
99% of people don't give a but as soon as the team starts when you look at the Toronto Raptors when they won last year, now the Toronto Raptors are probably the Onley Toronto team that I've been cheering since the exception.
It's the only team I've cheered for from, you know, the daily started.
I didn't watch basketball before the Raptor came to Toronto.
We've been really care about it as a kid.
I think it was like nine years old when the Raptors got a team, but you're from Toronto.
Raptors Gun went there and Toronto Raptors games matter fun for professional sports, there's no better game than basketball.
Basketball is the biggest entertainment for your buck, so I can actually sit down and talk about the Toronto Raptors.
I can't really talk about the rest of the M B A, but I can talk about the Toronto Raptors.
But all my God, all of a sudden, like my Facebook people who didn't even know the Playersnames started arguing with me about the Toronto Raptors.
I don't like Nick Mares.
I still don't like Nick Nurse.
I think that Dwayne Case he could have done the same thing with it with Kwai Letter and the team they had last year, sir.
Yeah, and how the Toronto Raptors bandwagons doing this year? I'll tell you exactly what it is.
I don't care what any of you seen, Man.
The Toronto Raptors air time talk to team in the East right now.
They're talked to team in the East.
They have a problem playing good teams, and I will admit that I will admit that.
But their top two team rap fans don't care.
But soon as playoff comes around, I think everybody knows that Drake ****ed off you honest the other night when he was talking smack out him and Karen the championship belt anyways, yeah, it's a bandwagon city.
What are the same? And the Blue Jays have a good young core pitching the Solstice still suspect they still got a lot of things I need to do around their pitching and I believe that they're gonna be good for a long time.
They're not good yet, but they're gonna be good for a long time.
They got manageable contracts as long as they can build the bullpen and build the starting rotation.
I want you guys know when I was on YouTube last year live streaming on basketball nights.
Nobody talked more **** to me about the Raptor and make chicken blog's.
Especially if I happen to be on a night that the Celtics beat the Raptor.
It was just murder to be on that live stream.
So thank you, brother.
Um, but I am a man.
So anyways, I think the Blue Jays got a really, really good core.
They got a lot of good things they could do.
These guys grew up together in the system.
You know, if we all remember Guerrero, even if you're not a Blue Jay fans at Home run Derby last year where we just aren't really seen his power now he's a little out of shape.
Apparently has been really putting time into his fitness.
It'll be interesting to see if he brings the same power back.
What? I mean, do.
When Guerrero came up, we never had this experience here in Canada and one of the Big Four.
We had this kind of experience, like in hockey what we talked about the Big Four sports.
The anticipation for Vladimir Guerrero, like in recent years, is probably match.
The Bryce Harper, like baseball, wanted to see Vlad Vlad Junior come up and ah, I mean, it was insane again.
The Toronto fan base made sure to fill.
I wanted to get tickets for that game.
They made sure to Philip that one.
Bryce Harper is overrated.
You guys know where Bryce Harper, Where's Number 34? Here's a tidbit for you guys for baseball knowledge.
Little ah little trivia.
Bryce Harper wears number 34 because he always assumed that he would sign with the New York Yankees, and Number seven is retired.
Obviously, ****ey Mantle right, so he wore 34 3 plus four equals seven.
There's a little bit of history for there's a little tribute question for you.
Mike Trout is the ****ey Mantle of our era.
My trout is the best player I've I've ever seen that I have ever seen.
We could make the argument about DiMaggio and in man told them, but I never saw them play.
I saw highlights, but I never saw them play prior to Mike Trout, the best player I ever saw play straight up was Roberto Alamar when the money's in his prime.
I mean, there are at least two of the best second baseman ever saw play.
I mean, I'm sure you could throw in a couple of their names that we could talk about an arguable, but Mike Trout is the Mike Trout is the ****ey Mantle of our era.
I think he's being Oh yeah, Griffey story. Griffey is the best.
I don't even know why.
I thought Griffey, Griffey.
Griffey was the best pre Mike Trout.
But my throat is the best.
He's a little vanilla, a little boring, but he's a beast, and I mean, he's the only guy, huh? He's getting paid like 300 $25 million if you look at his war and all that kind of stuff, he's probably underpaid, like that's how disgusting he really is.
400 million foreigner mill story, And I mean and he's underpaid.
He's underpaid for what is when you compare his numbers.
When you compare his contract in numbers to other players contracts in numbers.
He's an underpaid player at $400 million a year.
That's how good the guy is.
And he's being wasted with the Angels.
Hey, doesn't get the exposure.
He plays a 10 o'clock at night, so a lot of the East doesn't get to see him.
And I wish I wish he would've signed with the Yankees or Red Sox.
Or, you know, I mean, the Dodgers, somebody who gets national exposure because any young ballplayer needs toe watch, Mike, because look at all the guys have come up and in their shells.
Right? Manny Machado, Kris Bryant.
You remember all Christopher Chris Bryant watch.
I would even say Muecke isn't at that, you know level of a Mike Trout.
And Mookie Betts is probably the second best player in baseball.
Arguably, you know, I mean, it's and it is.
It's insane how good he is, and it's funny you bring up that comparison.
Football contracts are quickly becoming baseball level.
Mahomes is getting 200 million.
If Patrick Mahomes played for the Kansas City Royals and he was a freak like he is now, he would not have the exposure he has in the National Football League.
The National Football League is is kind of phenomenal because, you know, you could be a small market team, but because of the national exposure, all these good players could be exposed.
You know, we have the thing here in Toronto.
Let's talk about our baseball team. I mean, number one.
I mean, I think last night this was the first time ever in the history of the Toronto Raptors that they had two games on TNT, the first time in the history of our franchise.
The Toronto Raptors played two games on TNT in the same season.
First time in franchise history.
We played on Christmas Day, You know what I mean? And it's the thing.
And you look at the Toronto Blue Jays.
Nobody wanted the Blue Jays to win the World Series in 92 90 three.
Nobody who the hell they were and you look at the team They had.
Roberto Alamar, Joe Carter, Pat Borders, Tom Hanky.
I mean, they traded Fred McGriff to get Roberto Alamar.
We had Cecil Fielder on the team of one time bringing David Comb.
Ah, Juan Guzman was on the team, brought in Rickey Henderson for a year.
Yeah, John, All the rude.
It was probably the best first baseman in the league next to Mattingly at that time, and they'll never go down as one of the greatest teams when you really look at their liar, the Blue Jays, for 92 90 three of the highest salaries, invaded major league baseball.
That's the only problem with Major League Baseball is that is a game where the highest team with no salary cap that the most richest teams can win in 93 92 93.
Ronald Blue Jays were the highest paid team in Major league baseball, and they won.
So it really is a game.
No, they didn't have Pedro.
The Ah Montreal Expos had Pedro.
They also had, and I think that Vlad also played for the Expos as well.
There's a lot of good teams to come out of Montreal yet.
Tim Raines and Larry Walker.
There was a lot of good players to come out of there.
Ah, we tried to do what the Yankees did, and it almost destroyed the franchise.
Absolutely, especially after the ah, Dave Steve Ah, perfect game thrower twice lost the perfect game in the ninth inning.
But it's true, especially after the 94 strike, the here that Montreal probably had a legitimate shot to win the World Series.
But after 94 strike man on the team kind of socked and and, ah, the again. Pastrana.
Lt's very who's winning and they weren't winning in the stadium.
Emptied and then lie.
Bat sold the Blue Jays to Rogers.
They changed our name.
The our stadiums called SkyDome got changed to Roger Center and it went through a whole thing.
Well, the 92 93 team was stacked.
You know what, and it's sold.
It's sold every young, good player.
They had the big Unit.
Was that before? Going to say, Oh, yeah, the Big Unit was another Expo and then he went to Seattle, and then he went to what? He went to Miami after that, right when they won the World Series, him and him and Schilling were on that team, correct before they went to the Red Sox and Yankees, respectively.
He wasn't Miami was Josh Beckett.
Was the Marlins, the Florida Marlins? Not Miami? I remember when the Blue Jays I Conseco, I remember when the Blue Jay signed Roger Clements.
That's when he went back to Boston and you guys just boot him out of the building.
I mean, they put money into that team.
They weren't on the championship teams.
Clemens is also where he started his steroids, the whole his steroids was down here in Toronto, apparently bm in there is some good players running through Toronto.
The A L East has been good over the years.
You know what I mean? When you look at the teams the Red Sox of run out when you look at the teams, even Tampa Bay, for time When they had Evan Longoria and the you know, David Price was actually pitching good baseball.
They're a tough team to play up here, up here in Toronto, appear in Toronto.
The air least had a lot of good teams.
You know, when you think about those those Red Sox, he's man, those great battles with the With Thea, we're not way north.
There's American cities that are more north and Toronto, boy.
Ah, I think Ah, what is it? There's a couple of states that are more North and Toronto, but man, yeah, there was, uh yeah.
Main is more north on then.
I think like Dakota is more north to Isono. Dakota Central.
You know, I guys, I'm gonna be completely honest if you don't hate me for this.
My my US geography is not great.
I'm driving the Florida in a month and that's gonna be a treat me trying to navigate my way down your guys highways.
We don't have tools here.
They just send his bills.
I got to get used to that.
I'm driving man driving from Toronto.
It's a 20 hour drive.
We're going to stop in ah, in Savannah, Georgia, for the night after about 17 hours and then, yeah, I am going to convert my car.
Likely I drive a Cadillac SRX.
It's all digital and I can change it from ah, metric to imperial and imperial to metrics.
I can change it from kilometres to miles, masses so far east that's literally to go to Mass is nine hours east.
Then I would have to come all the way back.
It's from where I am.
I am going to I'm hoping to this summer go to Cape Cod.
That is my thing and I want to stop in Boston and go see Gelatin.
Go see Fenway and all that kind of stuff.
I'll let you guys know I'm down there for all of you who live there and ah, you come say hi.
I do not want to stop in Pennsylvania.
Her. She's a nice area.
I may stay in Pennsylvania in the way.
I'll tell you what.
If I stay in Pennsylvania on the way back, I'll treat your message some good.
Um, well, now that you guys know about my road trip, now that you know that I cheer for a particular team that Red Sox fans hate and Ah, all that kind of stuff.
Joe knows I can change from kilometers two miles per hour.
Ah, I gotta go see Chris and, uh, in Pennsylvania.
And I got to go see my chicken vlog and Massachusetts and I gotta fly over and say hi to Ah, the rhino.
Over in Australia two years ago, I would have had the opportunity to see Joe in Rochester.
But I don't think we Ah, only we really knew each other at that time.
I don't you watch my stuff? But I don't think we knew each other like we know each other now.
Otherwise I would have said, Let's grab a beer.
I mean, I think you can walk throughout Rochester and 12 minutes.
Can't you? At least where I was? Rochester was a nice city.
I liked Rochester.
I didn't know what it was.
I literally thought like I didn't know what was going into a lot of old buildings and big churches and Rochester in a museum.
We're staying at the Hilton there.
Um, I couldn't afford it, but I had to stake.
That's what the whole soccer team was staying.
If you just tell my daughter that we're staying at the Super Eight when our whole team is staying at the Milton with a sweet that I was living in that I knew I couldn't afford and couldn't wait to Ah, I didn't want to get my credit card.
Bill, be honest with you.
That was also Rochester.
New York was also the first time I ever met a DP and viewers.
Yeah, it wasn't Joe.
I know. It wasn't Joe.
Uh, he was Ah, it was black.
and black, but I was walking to the hotel first that we just got there.
My daughter was off running around with her team somewhere.
I was one of the coaches.
So the other coach says to me, Ah, I was an assistant coach.
One of the credit coaches me.
Hey, man, can you run the Walgreens and grab some bottles of water stuff for tomorrow? Mike, I am no problem.
I'm coming back in to get another father with me.
And I'm carrying, like, four bottles.
Four big things water here, backstage in their path station.
Dear Pat Nation, I look over Michael.
What's I mean is a kind Take a picture Can I take a picture I'm like Now, out of all the times when I meet somebody Now, when I have four cases of water in my hand I'm like, All right, come on.
I gave on the fake a smile in the world because I thought my arms were gonna fall off because of the stupid water.
But it is what it is.
All right, guys, Thanks so much for two today, man.
I'm gonna call it quits now for the night.
I hope you guys all still like me once you found out who each year. Fourth.
Um, but I do cheer for the Blue Jays when they're not playing New York.
So thanks a lot, guys.
Forgive me the opportunity to come out here each and every night and talk to football fans of baseball fans just sports fans from all over the world.
Thank you so much.
All of you who come out and talk to you that all of you I would not be where I am today.
And ah, it's all because of you guys all the yogis, all everybody love you all.
Um And, uh, I'll talking smack and I love it. That's the best thing.
And beauty, both sports we can all I love the same teams Hate the same teams chair for the same things.
Still all of each other.
Take care, guys. Talk you later.
