Welcome back to the We got Nets podcast coming to you live as always on the SportsCastr platform.
We come raid in on the action as Brooklyn is in D. C.
Taking on the Washington Wizards.
We know that the Nets are coming off a difficult loss against the Orlando Magic one, where it felt like it certainly had opportunities to win.
That one outscored 74 I believe, 59 in the second half, which obviously resulted in the loss.
They're not the greatest situation for Brooklyn, but nevertheless, you come right back in here with an opportunity to right the ship.
Just like that, though, however quick to big buckets here from Washington and it's a 60 opening about for the Washington Wizards.
Let's find themselves down early.
Here is a timeout is taking nearly immediately.
So Kenny Atkinson, not willing to risk having a game go the wrong direction early here.
He'll try to just get in with his players, get them refocused and come back in and get back in this action here momentarily.
In the mean time, of course, we talk about how AH lost the Nets suffered.
It was of course, too.
The team right behind them, in the standings in the Orlando Magic.
So that was a big loss there for them as well.
Talk about from an N b. A perspective.
Go inside these standings.
You know, Washington Wizards? We've certainly been highlighting how they have been one of those teams that have ah struggled this year.
But our lights out offensively.
So a lot to be, uh, optimistic about from a wizard standpoint in the fact that they've had a solid run over here over the last handful of games.
That Washington sit there in the ninth seed at 20 and 2036.
Excuse me, Brooklyn 26 30.
So it feels like the distance is there another? Unless, you know, we have Atlanta coming in on Friday, followed up of Miami.
You're gonna have Boston then right around the corner as well.
So a number of teams here, Certainly that could present some problems for the Nets if they don't continue to stay sharp here.
Especially in the early going already trailing six.
Nothing here in this one.
We think of British step away.
They come back in on the action here, as on the Nets were just underway in Washington.
60 lead here for the Wizards course.
One of the biggest players in the next draft contend with is B built for the Washington Wizards, coming off a back to back performances where he's gone over 50 plus points.
Well, get in on some of those stat lines here as we get underway and continue to move through this one.
Hopefully, if you're Kenny Atkinson, the quick time out there allows this team to realize what they need to be doing and that staying a little bit more focused on going out.
The reason why a team like Washington's present problems for the Nets is they are on offense.
And we know the Nets can stagnated.
Times have a hard time finding the rhythm, so be curious to see here late in the last game against Orlando, no one really took over there as Caris Levert tries to go inside to Jared Allen, gets broken up with foul is called, and this one is going to go against Shabazz Napier, former Brooklyn net.
The lineups here were ah, vert de money.
Alan Harrison prints, As you would expect for Brooklyn and veal Napier uh, Mommy and Bongo along with Hasheem era for the Washington Wizards.
Buddies drive off the baseline, thereby Tori on Prince gets Brooklyn on the board here.
Just about two minutes gone by in the 1st 6 Too early Lead for the Washington Wizards.
Shabbas in the lane there rises up.
It can't get that one to go.
However, the nice finish on the inside as it is going to be.
Mommy! Uh, my Mahin.
It was a nice job on the inside.
Gets position. Grab that rebound.
Goes right back up with it.
Story on Prince one and done from the top of the art there as the nets continue trying to find their rhythm.
Eight to here, as we get underneath tend to play in the first quarter.
You get a little bit.
Here's a turnover by the wizard's leaves.
So quick break out and it is Tori on Prince who will get that feed from Paris.
Avert gets it to go and one opportunity.
So, Prince, getting a lot of looks here early, does a nice job and that turn over their committed driving in towards the basket for the Washington Wizards by deal, quickly able to turn that into transition and give the Nets an opportunity to get themselves right back into this one.
It was just saying, I This has been a long day for yours truly trying to multitask here, get myself some food in my system, give myself the opportunity to catch a couple winks here.
Took a little power nap before I got on the air as well, knocking it down and converting the three point play is Tori on prints.
So 85 here now, just like that, right back into it, right? I think that's why right out the gate there, you always have to kind of hesitate for a second.
If you are Kenny Atkinson and just say, What's it gonna take for my team to wake up here a little bit early? Timeout Does the job.
Nice job by Alan Defending on the interior Help hold down that rebound off the miss back The other way we come.
This is Spencer Dinwiddie kicking in the outside, Tori on Prince fakes on the three tries to fire top of the key to cares.
Lover Beale into the lane gets that steel goes the length of the court for the flush.
So Bill, continuing his prowess on both ends of the floor here, kick over from dimly.
The Harris Harris feeds.
Laverne Laverne cuts in between a few defenders, Floater in the lane, rattling out there and one end done for Brooklyn once again.
10 5 as we come on a 40 to play good pace.
You're so far for both teams.
Shabazz Napier finds the sweet spot just beyond the foul line.
Gets his first look to go there.
Gotta touch that patch on the hat, sometimes fresh gear for your, for for Mia's Well, here.
Picked up another couple hats.
I got a couple shirts.
It kind of went a little nuts on the site the other day.
That's all right.
When you're supporting your team, why not go big in the lame with ease is Hachi Murrow.
He gets that look to go and once again here very quick offense from the Washington Wizards, 14 5 here with still eight minutes to go, swinging around the outside, livered off the mark from three.
Alan left on the interior, battling on his own, can get that to go quickly in transition up, though it misses that.
Well, that shocked off there for the Washington Wizards with 19 seconds on the shot clock.
So they're moving at a very fast pace right now.
Tori on Prince hands it off outside to Joe Harris.
He drives the baseline, kicks cross court to ah Caris Levert, who finds the entrepreneur Spencer did with top of the queen, and bang at three goes down for him.
So just like that, the nets cut into this lead a little bit.
Still trailed by six year 14 8 Beale What that bank shot couldn't get to go, Didn't Woody trying to battle with, uh with Mon Ami with Mon Ami and cannot seem to get corral That one goes off him will stay with Washington.
I got to get Thea Oatmeal raisin cookie out of my mouth here so I can pronounce these players names correctly.
Up 6 14 8 for the Washington Wizards.
We, of course, have some news and notes, and around this game as well, we'll dive into him as we work our way through the broadcast.
Washington In the first meeting between these two teams, back on February 1st, had a 1 13 107 victory and have won seven of November of 2018.
So the thing interesting thing about that, they're as Caris Levert knocks down that three ball from the outside and cuts this lead now down to 3 14 11 at the seven minute mark, having plead the last game at home in this one as well.
They're going to come at Barclay Center, so hopefully the Nets get some opportunities to get redemption here as they get home matchups again. Orlando Magic.
Played that last game.
Now the 1st 2 means have gone their way.
Ah, but Brooklyn could get some revenge and the next one on their home floor.
I'll get that passed on the interior.
He can't get it to go, but don't get fouled in the act that was cares.
Lover who found him on the inside and it is now gonna be two shots.
Jared Allen 16 11 here, trailing by five.
A brief step away as these foul shots go up for Jared Allen trailing by five.
We, of course, say hello to pace me.
Austin, how are you sir and crowd pleaser.
Thank you for joining in on the broadcast here as we bring you that wire to wire coverage of the Brooklyn Nets action Caris.
Levert takes a seat here, replaced by Temple, back in a moment transit charge, taking here as Alan Fash through the lane there.
Other wizards on the defense it and we're just about to hit the midway mark.
That's a settled in at least a little bit on the offensive side of things and then, you know, to back to back threes to get this one underway for Washington.
Now, as they pull up from deep here again, don't speak too soon.
Another three bowl goes down.
And that's Beale, who has now given the Washington was a 1911 lead to that abounds here but will stay with the Brooklyn Nets.
Garrett Temple kind of worked his way through the lane but didn't seem like necessarily had ah strategy in mind.
They're going back to her saying this before you think about that Orlando Magic game to money sequences there in the third and fourth quarters, where it just felt like some of the festive pressure turned up a little bit as Joe Harris goes on the inside can't get it to go, but the throw following up knows right where to go up and through with the rebound hook.
I've had a handful of those last game as well against the Orlando Magic for driving baseline, but found this hachi. Murrah.
Alan's gonna pick this one up, though.
That'll make two for him as he went on the inside.
And Jared Allen, already looking at the referee or having a bit of a conversation, is not one to argue too much, so just curious to see what he has in mind here.
When you look at this, it's not gonna be on that play there.
He may be referencing something down the other end of the court on a previous play, So if you Meriel go to the line shooting to here looking Thio, give the Washington Wizards what would be an eight point lead.
They've had that type of advantage here 5 to 8 points throughout the first quarter.
Alan takes a seat.
DeAndre Jordan comes onto the floor also coming onto the floor here, so we wondered about this as you work your way through it This will be, Ah, road eons.
Kourou Kes making an appearance here.
I haven't seen him on the floor in some time for Brooklyn Kenny Atkinson and shrunk this lineup, but I think maybe you come off that last game.
You saw how things kind of stagnant and got a little flat, and you start to look for a spark here from some players.
And certainly, in Caruso's case, this is a guy who obviously played started over 40 games last season for the Nets, has not seen the same opportunities this year, quite frankly, because he played himself out of those opportunities with some port performances earlier in the season.
This is Joe Harris again, attacking at the basket.
He's going to get the foul called here against Brian, who was checked in for the Washington Wizards.
This will be Jo.
Hair is going to the line, shooting to a nice job by Joe turning himself in tours.
The basket attacking downhill saw this last game as well.
Where is able to make his impact by trying to get some of those looks on the inside? First foul spot shot from him.
Excuse me is through and true, 22 14.
Reset this line up here for you, along with Jordan and Karoo.
CC's at the line is Joe Harris didn't witty and temples so damaging the one remaining starter on the floor for Brooklyn.
And then you got Bryant.
You've also got pretends Smith, Beale and Hachi Murrah out there for the Washington Wizards.
Almost lost this one of the bounds, but saved over the top to Bradley Beal.
He'll take on DeAndre Jordan on the switch.
Nice job by Jordan.
They'll follow them through the lane.
Affected that shot.
Maybe even got a This is Spencer dimwit racing up the floor now pulls back out.
Haji murders picked him up there.
Kicked to the corner.
It is Garrett and not able to make that three.
So temple missing from the outside.
Nice find thereby.
Spencer Dinwiddie, 2014 A six point game Hachi.
Murder of flashes through the lane.
They're going to say it stays with him, even though Cruz calling to say that one went off the leg of Haji Mira before one of the battles.
Nevertheless, it stays with Washington at the 4 43 mark.
All things considered, I think maybe it's just a little bit of ah Washington not necessarily playing a strong as they can hear, though.
A 21 team obviously is gonna have their struggles tipped away there by Joe Harris from Bryant that we re gathers now fires cross court extra feta hachi Mira.
He will get a little floater in the lane.
Can't get it to go off the finger.
Takes of crew Kes.
It is Joe Harris who recovers and now over to Spencer dimly, who will kick it to Joe on top of key, strong and long for Joe Harris.
Crew flies and can't get that rebound.
However, Nets are in the bonus for the last four minutes here, so a chance toe bite into this lead if they can continue to attack downhill at the basket.
Beale shooting from the outside.
But a foul called on the interior is gonna go against Garrett Temple defending against Brian on the inside and a conversation again happening here between Garrett Temple and the official.
But this one those things, too, where he's talking about.
I have my arm trying to set my pace in the back here, and he's grabbing at my wrist so usually especially early in games.
Players will be looking to the officials trying to kind of set that pace and tempo of the style of game they're looking to play.
Nice job here By Spencer Dinwiddie.
Boxing out Brian on the inside on this will be a kick up for court.
Across half court gets to cruise truths, tries on the inside.
But again, can't they get that one to get home? And unfortunately for Cruz, you'd like to see him have an impact on this one.
Early bang goes the three from well behind the line there for pertains 23 14 advantage now out.
So a nine point lead here for the Washington Wizards.
Spencer Dinwiddie attacks inside.
Nothing doing there.
Bill met him at the rim as well.
He goes down on the heat.
So four on five advantage and moving at pace just like that.
25 14 11 point lead here as we approach 3 22 plane.
As we said up over four minutes to go in this one, and Nets had the bonus lined up for themselves and have yet to really attack, get inside and earned those things.
Here comes Joe Harris.
He attacks towards the rim.
However, the presence inside does good work for the Wizards.
They go down the other way.
19 to shoot back and forth. Feet pertains.
Put that one up from the outside, and it will be Brian who gathers up that rebound over top of Garrett Temple size advantage for Bryant, backing himself down now kicks out to the perimeter.
Short there, however, was Smith not able to connect from deep on this one.
So let's get a little bit lucky there and then over the top.
Careless past, looking for for Excuse me, DeAndre Jordan ends up in the hands of the corner of Joe Harris.
He fires this one loosely away, and then it is Robinson going towards the rackets.
This one tipped away, and we'll see if it's going to stay with Washington or go over to the Brooklyn Nets.
Welcome in for the first time on SportsCastr Zoe, the dog house sitting for my family, and Zoe wants to know what's going on with the broadcast.
Isn't that right? The Nets were losing.
Hopefully a good luck charm.
We'd like to think so, right.
I know it's so we'll see if I need to maybe take a little bit step aside here and entertain the pooch as well.
Welcome in AM the men and the Manny in the man.

This is a game here at the 2 33 mark Nets trailing by 11 so far, early returns.
Nets struggling from the field, shooting just 33% 28% from the on the Ark.
Meanwhile, Washington, 42% from the field and 50% from downtown Advantage.
Washington 14 to 10 in terms of rebounds and turnovers.
Butter for Brooklyn is one of Washington early here, though, you know you can feel the same way, of course, in that last match up against Orlando, where maybe you're feeling really positive, and then it turned negative early.
Right now in this one cannot love Ah, the performance so far from the Nets.
And it's not about whether or not you're trailing by 11 here.
It's really just about a little bit of sloppiness, a little bit of careless play.
DeAndre Jordan, right now in the huddle with Caris Levert, TLC is gonna check in here.
Rodeos cruises out there along with Garrett Temple and just looks like DeAndre Jordan trying to get a little bit in the chest of his players here.
Garrett Temple communicating there as well.
Let's get this thing going right.
Let's try to dial ourselves back up.
One of the things that we had talked about on ah couple podcasts ago was regarding the lineup the Kenny Atkinson has been using.
There was that power trio defensive trio of DeAndre Jordan, Garrett Temple and then Wilson Chandler.
However, in this last game against Orlando, that wasn't, you know, that fell very flat.
Obviously, we knew they were going to be a little deficient on the offensive end, but defensively did not hold their weight as well.
So already you seen Crews come in here and now you're talking about a lineup with Caris, Levert, TLC, rodeos, crews who reaches in and gets this tip away here.
So turnover for the Washington Wizards.
And then, of course, you have Garrett Temple.
There is, Well, TLC can't connect on that. Three.
DeAndre Jordan flashes through, though, and grabs the offensive rebound.
He'll hold on wait kicks cross Gordon TLC once again, who drives inside offensive foul here.
They'll hit TLC with the charge as Laverne helps in back up and we'll hustle on defense.
That marks down yet another turnover here for Brooklyn a great job, thereby ish Smith lining himself up on the inside, planning his feet and really there. Kara.
TLC doing a nice job trying to tack downhill and get involved, but at the same time, just not doing enough in terms of awareness, right, Because you're getting past your defender.
You see, when they're meeting with you, you also have one shading over there on the in the paint as well.
Which means there has to be an opportunity to find an open shooter.
Foul call here on the inside.
It will go against the Nets side out here.
First found last two minutes for the Brooklyn Nets T L C ah, pics of that one there as well.
So still having the bonus of the Washington Wizards yet they're shooting proficiently from both the inside and the outside as Smith fires just off the elbow.
Can't connect flying through his DeAndre Jordan.
He gets that rebound, flips over to TLC, and we've got a minute.
Have to go here in the first quarter.
TLC drives the lane, spins, kicks outside the troops, thinks on the three now tries to go for it and, unfortunately, shuffles those feet so cool room showing a little bit of rust, having not had a lot of opportunities.
And then maybe you also some of those early season struggles where thinking about the three bowl and then just not having the confidence of going up and committing to it ends up shuffling.
Tries to drive the lane.
Caught in between three ball short here.
But a long rebound will find its way over to Bryant.
He's going to step in on the three wide open.
Long nets would live with that.
For the most part, both teams in the bonus here is we move along 25 14.
It remains so this unit hasn't done much from the offense event but hasn't given up on the defense's side, either.
Cruz firestorm three and can't connect, so he has been unimpressive in his first opportunity after a long stint on the bench.
There's a three ball that goes down from the outside.
That's a catching fire for Burr Tanz, a nice looking triple there, and it is a double digit double double that's put out rate, now 28 to 14.
But **** back comes Caris.
Levert answers the bell there, 28 17 now on a three ball of his own.
42 seconds to go here, and it will be Bryant turning and pulling up can't connect.
And again, the Nets will live with These have opportunities.
You want Brian to take the book.
You're shocked. That feels fine for them.
Caris Levert uses the DeAndre Jordan screen fires from three again here.
Can't connect uncontested rebound for Washington as we come upon the last 20 seconds to play here.
But if I shot game clock to shot clock difference here, so Nets may have an opportunity, depending on how quickly the Washington Wizards get this shot off.
As Smith works himself around the perimeter as TLC on um, crews defending against pertains uses the Brian screen fires across to a wide open Smith, who buries that 3 31 17 with five seconds to go.
It's TLC, kind of sluggishly getting himself across.
The court kicks outside the temple, just gets it off before the buzzer, and it looks like that 1 may count.
We'll get a look.
That replay there a nice job by TLC finding Temple who drifted in from that perimeter into the lane.
Let's double check here if this one is clean.
Looks like it was maybe a second. A second.
We're not 100% sure.
If TLC was trying to go to Air Temple DeAndre Jordan flashing to lane and falls behind DeAndre Jordan of soft bounce.
Temple picks it up, works into the paint and gets that shot off.
If it's good, that'll put it at 31 19.
So that will be trailing by 12.
File in the first quarter.
Hey, are 23? How are you, man? Good to see you back in once again.
Ah, trying to get a chance here to take a look at this.
But a force in the replay is just not showing.
They're showing it with zero second on the shot clock with a bullet out of his hands and significantly in the air.
So I would assume the 0.
1 means that this will be good.
And once they wrap up and confirm that it is, we'll come back in.
That's will be trailing by 12.
Let's get a beverage in our hands.
Friends before we come back in with the second quarter of action right here.
Odd SportsCastr talking all things Brooklyn Nets taking on the Washington Wizards.
Jordan goes over the cylinder on a put back opportunity.
So the next one great credit for that one the Garrett Temple shot was of course, confirmed.
As we said, s 19 to 31 here as yonder Jordan fires this one looking for Caris Levert out of bounds turnover for Brooklyn.
They had six alone in that first quarter on the offense event Mets trying to de themselves up a little bit here.
Smith fires around to pretends he goes ahead and runs that floater High off glass.
No good rebound for Kourou Out ahead to TLC.
Pulls up on a dime.
Kicks it back out This is Caris.
Levert holding Waiting gets inside now hands off to rodeos Cruise right back over to him and he will take pretends off the dribble, get inside, try to go up off glass, gets his own rebound, puts it back up. And then so nice.
Persistent play from Caris.
Levert, as a little bit more under control on the first attempt, didn't get to go down but still showed focus there, grabbed his own missed and got it back up and keeping the lead.
A 10 right now 31 20 gets this one ahead.
Sees a cutting TLC out in front of them, and they'll cut into this lead a little bit more.
31 23 lead down to a timeout for Washington and the Nets trying to turn over a new leaf Here.
Come out a little bit more fresh, a little bit more heart here to start of the second quarter, and we'll see if they can continue to eat into this lead for the Washington Wizards.
As we work our way through the early stages of the second court.
Talked about some of those news and notes in and around this game here.
The Wizard's dropped their third straight game Monday night in Milwaukee, the 1 37 to 1 34 performance course that was in overtime against Milwaukee.
So in spite of the fact they lost, that's a heck of a game to play against the number one seed in the East.
Ah, it was a said.
They are sewing three now overtime games this season, and two and eight games decided by five points or fewer.
Not too similar.
The Nets struggle in overtime contest is well on this season, Degory recently noted on the last podcast episode the Nets or dead, even in terms of their plus minus, which tends to mean then that they probably should be obviously closer to a 500 ballclub probably means that some of these close games like the game against Orlando missing some of the brakes, not getting some of those looks so full.
You know, when you go back to, if you want to think about it going back to last season.
You know, Doug and I talked about this early on in the podcast.
You know, it's a team that you know, play basically 500 bowl last year, and that was impressive, but probably got some lucky breaks along the way, really just a team that played well.
Leyton contest came from behind a couple of times and won some of those close games this season.
Obviously, new roster, obviously some pieces not present for them.
But nevertheless, closing some of these games out playing these tight contests and then certainly the overtime issues as well for them just haven't gone their way.
And that's the difference between a team that right now sits a 26 and 30 and a team that could easily be 20 and 28.
Right now, you know, one of the other things, too, is coming off of that Orlando laws, which obviously didn't feel great.
If you if you are a Nets fan or you're watching this team think about the fact that you know, pick any two games out over the course of this season and think if they won those couple of games, right? Say they won the Orlando game and they won one of the other ones earlier along the way.
Maybe around the unfortunate cir***stance the New York game, right? Coming out of what was a difficult time for a lot of players in the NBA 20 and 28 you be a 500 team right now.
That's how close this team is to being a 500 basketball team at this stage of the season, with Kyrie Irving out for the rest of the year, having only played 20 games without, Cady will be back next season healthy, you know, with with Caris Levert, who dealt with injuries as well.
You know, I don't know how you can look at this, and I had a little bit of it.
Not a tirade on the Last Pockets episode.
Just a discussion with Doug about the fact that if you're a fan and you don't think that this team has really had a fantastic season, they have when you out of everything that they've dealt with and what expectations were for them coming in shock goes down there for Washington, 33 25 as we're just threw two minutes of the third quarter here, TLC gets the feed from cares.
The vert can't get it to go The rebound battle on the interior, thereby rodeos.
Cruise ends again, this one tipped out so it will be a side out for the Nets will retain possession and get an extra cracker this year.
Scoring ah mix of their 33 23.
So that's trailing by 10.
This one was going to be turned over on the inbound play, but it comes because DeAndre Jordan gets fouled there on the inside, looking for a little past rate in at the rim for him.
He gets grabbed by the defender, and this will, of course, set things here for the Brooklyn Nets Inbounds comes from TLC to DeAndre Jordan.
He hands off the carousel, Avert Cares, never works inside and kicks over you.
I want to use this slogan, but I can't let he knocks one of these down.
That one's a clean air, a bowl that never connects.
They're highlighting on the broadcast here.
Some of the fre oh looks for Jared Allen.
This one's a tip.
Paul goes in the back court for Washington.
So no backcourt violation.
They're able to re gather from three No good there.
But for Tans does a good job fighting with TLC.
This one will end up swinging back around for a second chance.
Opportunity ish Smith crosses up against Caris.
Levert can't rise up on the baseline, however, and they will get the rebound.
Moving across the front court is Caris.
Levert crosses behind the back here, is gonna use the rodeo's Kruk screen.
Gets into the body, however, has to kick it back.
Outside Ish Smith taking on TLC.
TLC worked on the interior and can't get that look to go.
So after a big 21 point performance a couple of games ago, TLC now struggling through second game of action for himself, unable to find his rhythm from the outside or on the interior.
Attacking at the basket, 35 23 a 12 point lead were three minutes through the second quarter.
Here, Mets are playing at least more inspired basketball, though not getting the results tipped away here on the defense.
It end as Caris.
Levert tried toe work against Robinson.
Gets this one poked at abounds.
It stays with Brooklyn at the 8 51 mark.
We've got a bug in the house.
Friends, Hold on.
I'll be right back.
That's one of that thing clean out of this guy with my Brooklyn Nets hat broadcast is going completely off the rails.
What kind of bug that was or where it came from.
Head on, a swivel, people.
This one certainly is taking a bit more of a casual approach, and I apologize for that.
In the lane they're shooting from the line was Caris.
Levert doesn't get this one to go, but does pick up the foul and we'll go on with an opportunity, like shoot to following the time how we take a brief step away here now, 23 35 of the 8 43 mark in the second.
That's trying to claw back into this thing.
But again, when you don't have necessarily your head locked into the game rate from the tip, you get a little offensive team like the Washington Wizards out in front.
Bradley Beal knocking down threes from the perimeter.
And all of a sudden you get yourself in this 10 point hole, it's gonna be hard to kind of call your way back out of it.
We'll see if the Nets can do so coming back from the break in just a minute back.
Can't we go? It's cares.
Laverne at the line.
Not getting down that 1st 1 with a little bit of a gentleman's touch.
This has been obviously said, a difficult game for the Nets trying to battle their way back into it.
I've done this several times before.
You know what? I'll take a look.
Here are who I think I saw you last time on this broadcast.
When I pitched this one, I highlighted the last time I have the T shirt right here at my fingertips.
This is a We got nets.
Sorry, there's a Brooklyn Nets.
I just We got Nets is a Brooklyn Nets T shirt.
Look at that one.
Slide across the screen for you, although we ask, is that you tell me who leads the franchise old time in blocks for the Brooklyn Nets.
You do that, you get that T shirt.
If you happen to be ah, fan of a different team, you can let me know the fact that the team that you ****ed up, I'll get you something from that team.
I just want to give away some free stuff on behalf of the We got Nets podcast.
So anyone that's listening if you click in here, I'll type it up, which I can't do simultaneously typing your answer. Send it along.
You get yourself some Brooklyn Nets gear and or gear of your team of your choosing.
37 24 13 point advantage here for the Washington Wizards.
CLC kicks inside and then goes back out the carousel avert.
He's gonna back his man down than Fi TLC from three front rim short Mmm Garrett Temple Flash through trying to get that rebound there, and it looks like he'll get that foul call.
It's going to go on Banga as he looked to grab that rebound.
A nice job, extra effort there from Garrett Temple.
Nevertheless, that's now this eight minute mark still looking for there.
You know it's illegal for seizing the opportunity to shut down the Wizard on the offensive end, then capitalize offensively.
Inbounds play goes through DeAndre Jordan on way to caress the vert.
He kicks the Garrett Temple who backs it out.
Deals got him picked up, driving the lane, scooping, unable to get to go foul in the lane, though, this one's gonna go against Wagner on the inside, so Temple will go to the line.
How about this? Once again, the Brooklyn Nets are in the bonus here at not even the midway 0.
7 57 marks just under eight minutes to go in the quarter.
Nets are in the bonus if they let's get these stat lines up here real quick, because if I'm if I'm Kenny Atkinson and I look at this roster, right, look at this team right now.
Excuse me as Ah, missing on the first is Garrett Temple.
But if I take a look at this team and I say that right now we are two of six of the line.
So by the way, we're having a hard time accomplishing.
What we want to hear is why I'm gonna pick up his third foul check out of the game two of six.
You better have 12 plus free throw opportunities before you go toe halftime.
And that's not a ton.
That means you need to draw three more fouls here over the course of the next eight minutes, driving and obviously in the act of shooting.
But you have to get some looks.
The line's free buckets.
Right now, you have all the opportunity in the world to come into this lead.
Push shot for the Wizards won't go should, as Napier just goes ahead, walk straight and grabs his own rebound, puts it back up as ah DeAndre.
Jordan slams that bull against the back patting before working the inbounds play now rolled out to a 14 point lead.
Garrett Temple short on a three from distance.
Now you want to see attack downhill and get at the basket here, Napier kicks it over to be Oh Beale will.
Working around has Caris Levert picking him up.
He goes inside, back out on the perimeter, splashed down from deep as Mahinmi kicked it over to Bert Tans.
He has been lethal from the outside in this game, 42 to 25.
Now this leads all the way out to 17 is Caris.
Levert works on the interior, gives himself little angle but manages to get that one to go on the baseline.
42 27 Nets still looking to find some stops at the defensive end.
There is Shabaz Napier knocking down the three ball.
He comes up a little bit gimpy on the outside.
There may have had his ankle rolled over a little bit.
He gets back on defense as Caris Levert fires, he knocks this one down from three.
He's had a strong game specifically with his perimeter shooting so far.
Still, a 15 point advantage as a bill gets into the offense meant shooting just four of 16 25% from deep.
57% for the Washington Wizards.
Whistle down here as the Nets are called for a foul ball in the corner.
It will be a sign out, non shooting foul against Brooklyn and We'll see here if the Brooklyn Nets can do anything before halftime.
Otherwise, it just feels like this is Ah, you know death by 1000 paper cuts slow and steady.
The Washington Wizards work, and before you know it, you're trailing by big double digits, heading towards halftime and really unable to find any identity here defensively to slow down this offense for Washington.
He'll use the screen now, drops it back off, working into the lane and kicking out to the corner.
Napier thought about the three.
Now goes baseline against Spencer Demonios checked back in, tries to feed inside.
Story on Prince breaks that ball of nicely.
Jared Allen has also come back in the game, replacing DeAndre.
Jordan stops that past, gets it over to Tory on Prince.
He rises up in the mid range game and we'll see here if they'll count that bucket with the foul going on.
He was found in the processes, and that screen looks like Hachi.
Mora will pick up that foul there.
Napier poof just rolls his angle a little bit there as it looks like he stepped on a fan in the front row.
Unfortunately, as we know rate in there on the action and yet what a risk.
So the line misses on the first.
So now they're getting this opportunity to get some free points, and they're not converting.
2nd 1 rattles home for Jared out 14 point lead, 31 45.
Now the other side of this is to is ongoing and defensive stops.
But I mean six minute mark, so we'll see where this one ends.
But the fact that the Nets, with six minute mark of the second quarter, have laid a quart and 1/2 of basketball and put up 31 points.
It's not gonna cut it at the N B A level, especially against a team that is not known for any defense whatsoever.
He'll just dribbles around randomly through the lane until TLC picks up this foul.
Going to take a look here and see how many that makes for TLC is.
He's had some difficult calls against them.
Pick up the charge on the offense event, plus another foul there defensively, so it could be three on him.
If I'm not mistaken as Atkinson will go to the bench here, TLC will take that seat fourth personal fouls.
I knew he had picked up a handful that could spell Ah, long rest for TLC, bleeding well over into that third quarter by the time he gets back out there, Garrett Temple checks back in as the inbounds play comes in for Washington.
Very deep. Three.
Not gonna go on this one.
Rebound on the weak side of the basket there for Tori on Prince.
Feeds it up to Spencer Dinwiddie, who's at a relatively quiet start to his game as well.
On a pier is defending against them.
Works in a Land kicks outside story on Prince.
He's got Hachi Mora, and that's gonna be steps cold there.
As Bradley deal lets everybody know this is the signal for travel.
Another bad break there, another band break.
Another bad play there for the Brooklyn Nets.
Again, just continuing.
Looks like a little bit of lack of focus, your attention to detail.
It doesn't feel like that.
That's really engaged in this one, if you ask me, and I know that listen, I've said it before, not necessarily the case.
No player goes out there looking to slack off, but it just doesn't feel like the Nets are able to find the rhythm at the very least and this one, especially on the offense event where some of these nice passes have given some opportunities for perimeter shots.
We saw Tori on prints on that last one and, of course, earlier with rodeos.
Crew is getting cold for steps Napier hits off the elbow there.
Nice job by Garrett Temple on the other end to drive and take it to the rim.
That's you're holding this deficit right now.
At 14 47 to 33 Hachi Moreau roams through the lane, picked up there by Joe Harris.
Harris will defend strong, and then Spencer, then when he flashes in, following the mist to grab that rebound.
Still in the bonus here as they work through the offense handoff between Den Witty and Joe Harris, the foul gets called here and it looks like Joe uh, excuse me.
Expensive demon is gonna get hit with the offensive foul.
Didn't love that.
Just exchange it.
Uh, it just felt like, really, If anything, it is so Spencer Dane, when he tries to just kind of put his hip out into the area of Ah hah! Jeanne Moreau to give Joe Harris a little bit of space gets hit with that foul call.
So once again, another turnover.
Bradley Beal short on the mid range game, flying in his Hachi. Murrah.
He misses the point blank.
Lay up there and now break out.
That almost gets lost by Garrett Temple.
And, in fact, he cannot save.
It is that's out of bounds, not his fault.
The lead ahead feed just comes up short for Brooklyn.
So once again, these little things you just can't quite manage upon the replay there look like your temples.
Whether or not he got out of his hand in time would be the question mark before his 3rd 3rd step took him out of bounds.
Turnover is cold, however, anyway.
Push shot for a shoe bass.
Napier won't go.
Alan cleans that glass.
3 51 mark here, 47 33.
Spencer Dinwiddie inside fires wildly at the basket.
Can't get it to go.
The recovers That one couldn't get the put back ends up in the hands of Spencer Dinwiddie, and he aggressively gets back over the rim.
Here a little bit of a chest pumping and a sneer as well, you like to say from Spencer Dinwiddie as they try to a nice job thereby Jared Allen, they're gonna call him on the foul.
Kenny Atkinson does not appreciate this one here.
That was about as clean as you could defend.
That Bradley deal came right into his chest and it looked like he was in a fantastic position.
Now, if your bill, you want those calls.
But boy, does that hurt as it looked like.
Alan played that one nice defensively and came up with what would have been a good stop on the inside and a chance for the Nets to cut this lead back down the tenants.
That deal goes to the line and converts on the first free throw.
Get a look at the replay here, boy.
I can't say that.
I love that If I'm being totally honest as the dog goes after some chapstick knocking down both there.
So now the Washington Wizards joined the Brooklyn Nets in the bonus here at the 3 25 Mark Spencer Dimwit.
He will pick up the foul here, going up.
It'll put a dead body on the line.
But as we had said, you know, talk about those free throws now the Nets, are they? They got to the number 12 free throw attempts here in the quarter, however, as then when he misses off the front rim, making them now five for 13.
So you're in a game.
You're trailing by 14 points right now, 49 35.
You look across the floor.
You see, the Washington has knocked down five out of their six limited opportunities.
Did what? He misses the second free throw there as well, so it will now be five of 14 easily could be 10 of 14.
Put five points on the board.
You're was in single digits, nine point advantage.
And instead of going the other way, Shabazz Napier works inside the Ark.
He misses strong off of his jump shot there and caress Lover comes down with it, but you easily could be sitting here talking about a nine point game as bad as you have played.
If you just do this one area, which is convert the opportunities of line instead, they have not.
And now you find yourself both teams in the bonus trading blows here a little bit.
Spencer down when he tries to attack on the inside.
No call there, didn't we? He's gonna pick up a technical foul here.
I would assume breakout play here.
Caris. Levert gets cold on it.
And this is a problem here.
Joe Harris gets right back up.
He went down there, got his ankle rolled over.
He springs up and starts to walk that off.
That's a near dangerous moment.
We'll take a look at this replay.
That was an anxious spot there for Joe Just gets his foot.
Stepped on their bye Hachi more on the inside Preventive Tribunal to conjure.
Step away after he landed.
It didn't twist it Probably just felt like a little bit of a held in place when you wanna fall on.
Step away from their surprised that no technical foul got cold on Spencer demo because he got into the into the face of the official a little bit There.
Hachi murders at the line now the ninth overall pick back in 2019 back in 19 in 2019 by the Washington Wizards.
Obviously, he's a bright spot for them going forward.
Harris is going to step out here and get a break and he goes right back to the locker room.
So they're going to take a look at that ankle and you talk about a season where you cannot afford to have any other issues come up for this team From an injury standpoint, we'll see if we get any word over the halftime break about what may be going on there.
15 point game here.
A brief pause as we work our way through his third quarter following this shot tourney on Prince working against Bill crosses him up steps back from three splashdown for Torey on Prince.
12 point advantage 50 to 38 will stay right here, the 2 25 mark and see if they can stymie the offense once again.
Here for the Wizards.
Field goes in slices through, up and over the outstretched arm of DeAndre Jordan.
Quickly out in transition.
It is Caris Levert on the perimeter, working as Hachi.
Murray takes him inside, dishes off DeAndre.
Jordan can't get the Finnish tries to re gather, and we'll get the foul and go back to the line shooting to hear DeAndre.
Jordan wants that foul call on the initial opportunity.
Nevertheless, you go the line and earn to here and get the Nets back within what feels like the area that they're living in 12 10 point range.
Little chap stick.
So disjointed coverage here, and I apologize for that.
But this has just been the kind of game were.
Quite frankly, it's all right.
It's a play by play.
Isn't it's Christmas we'd like it to be.
You could just safely assume the Nets are losing and are probably missing at the free throw line and having the ball turn over several times.
Jonah Jordan does make the 1st 1 here, making the Nets now five of 13 fromthe line.
This is a team that shooting 37 almost 38% from the field, watching only shooting 40 as excusing those numbers. Update.
Now six of 18 are the Brooklyn Nets from the free throw line.
So that 18 free throw opportunities 15 for the Wizards and just unable to get it to go.
Wizards air six of eight at the free throw line this quarter and only eight of 16 overall for us.
Look at the wrong style and I apologize there.
That's for three pointers for the Nets that survived 17 from Deep and 68 of 16 for the Wizards, 50% from the field at the free throw line.
Seven of 15 now for Brooklyn, six and eight for the Washington Wizards.
So Wizards not having a ton of opportunities but converting nice lay off from Garrett Temple.
DeAndre Jordan, just wildly up in the basket on an ugly bank shot that won't go could have been a 10 point lead.
Instead, it is 12.
And then Hachi! Maura breaks out running.
He Yes, this look to go with the basket, 54 to 40 now.
14 point advantage working for the Washington Wizards as we come upon the last minute of play, follow the conclusion.
This quarter we will take a step away.
We'll come back in with second half action on an entirely fresh feet.
Maybe a fresh feed will give us Ah, fresh opportunity.
Nice job again, hereby, Caris Levert of the offensive end, knocks down the three fromthe wing pulls the Nets back within 11 50 pier with 50 seconds to go in the half could give an opportunity for the Nets to really be looking a little more positive.
Unfortunately, that's gonna be Brown Jr flashing out from the perimeter, knocking down to three that's going to set the Nets up for a 14.
Once again, Spencer Dima gets ahead to lover tricks outside the dimly Dunwoody over to Prince Prince in the corner for Garrett Temple, who cannot connect on that three ball.
DeAndre Jordan battles on the inside, though, and gets that one back up in.
He's done a nice job with the effort on the inside, hasn't always converted but has been their present on a lot of these offensive rebounds.
So he converts that opportunity there, pulls the Nets back within 12.
We have a 11 2nd shot clock to game clock difference.
The Nets are gonna have an opportunity here following this possession.
Hachi Moral works inside foul call and one hachi Merrill go the line following the foul against Tori on Prince, 59 45.
Give the Washington Wizards of 15 point lead, and this just kind of feels like a rough outing for the Nets.
Every time they pushed a little bit close and maybe had a sense of some semblance of a run.
Washington's knock down a Big three.
The inside picked up these fouls.
And then, as we highlighted 15 free throws for the Nets, converting just seven of those.
If you think about hitting 12 or leaving 11 off those 15 attempts you're talking about, plus four, instead of being down 15 you're down 11.
And with one final possession here, you could make it a nine or even eight point game.
Jordan hands it off to Carousel Avert.
Lover gets fouled out top here.
He's gonna go right to the line with six seconds so Brooklyn can knock down these free throws.
What would be and what will be their 16th and 17th attempt can move the needle up to nine of 16.
Lover got caught on the jaw there as he tried to tack off the dribble.
If he can knock these down, the Nets will find themselves down by 13 heading to halftime, depending on what six seconds can provide for the Washington Wizards.
First shot is good for Caris Levert.
As we said, we, of course step away and then come in with some game action notes from the first half after the break cares the verges on a nice job for himself.
6 to 10 from the field, four of six from Deep Has four rebounds and three assists.
To go along with his 18 points can make it 19 here.
And what would be one of his best performances of the season? And yet, when you're trailing by 13 really feels like you know less than what you're looking for, Haji Murder now quickly breaks out one to shoot fire away off front rim.
So the Nets trailed by 13.
Yeah, goingto half here we're highlighting the 46 from deep for Caris Levert.
In case you're wondering, the rest of the team is a combined to Well, let's go full box score here before we give you that number 16 19 overall for the team.
So that means that they're shooting just two of 13 outside of Caris Levert effort.
He leads the entire team with 19 points on Lee Player in double digits for the Nets.
Ah, struggles all around.
Let's leave it at that.
On this first half of action ugly game.
Following the disappointing loss against the Orlando Magic, we step away here Let's all take a breather.
Come back in the second half action, see if the Nets can get this thing dialed back up and give themselves a fighter's chance in the third and fourth quarter.
