Because here on d p n.

There's about three weeks before NFL free agency kicks off, and we will finally be able to put the whole Tom Brady situation.
Abed the date the New England Patriots have not had any substantial contract talks with Brady in his camp.
Through my conversation with Patriot fans, some people feel a little bit frustrated with Bill Bell check in Nick's Cesario.
As we've heard the rumors about the Las Vegas Raiders wth E.
L A Chargers and the Tennessee Titans start to spread around like a wildfire.
The Patriots were the only team who were allowed to negotiate with Brady, and there was frustration that the Patriots had not been even trying to talk to Brady.
Negotiate with Brady, basically not trying to get anything done there enough for those of you who are worried, you can start to breathe a little easier because it's expected that the Patriots and Brady's representation will actually sit down this week and start negotiating, or at least start the talks of negotiations for a contract.
I just don't want you to get too excited just because they're meeting this week, it doesn't mean that they're gonna walk away with a deal in place.
According to multiple reports, If any deal is done between Brady and the Pats, it's probably not gonna happen, and it's gonna take right up until free agency starts to get the deal done.
It is a great sign that the two sides are getting together, but we still have some time before anything is really going to get done, and we can finally start thinking about something else.
And you know what? It's difficult to figure out exactly what's going to go and what's gonna happen in these negotiations.
We've heard so many different things the last few months.
And Patriot fans is so paranoid that Tom Brady can't even wear black T B 12 gear without people connecting him to the Raiders.
Well, when we look at the way this whole sort of timelines going early reports came out that you know about Brady's free agency that Brady wanted the Patriots to show a commitment to improving the offense and getting him some legitimate offensive weapons.
The story changed a little bit on Super Bowl Sunday when Ian Rapoport reported that the Patriots were willing to pay him up to $30 million this season, and suddenly, from there it seemed like it wasn't just about the supporting cast, but it was a combination of roster and money.
Larry Fitzgerald Sr didn't help temper those rumors when reported that the Las Vegas Raiders were prepared to offer Brady a two year, $60 million contra contract.
And I'm actually a little bit surprised that the Patriots and Brainy are getting together so early, and I wonder if some of this is just for show between the two sides.
The Patriots owner, Robert Kraft, came out just a couple of weeks ago and said that the organization and Brady had decided it would probably be best if Brady were to explore free agency.
And then, after he's seen everything that's available, if he wanted to come home, then he could come home and they could get something done.
That's really why I'm not overly hopeful about the negotiations this week, you know.
On Monday, there was another twist when it was reported that Brady is less concerned about money and more concerned about his contract length.
Apparently, Brady wants a two year commitment from the Patriots.
This actually makes the Raiders contract offer that much more interesting because they seem willing to give Brady the length that he wants and the money that the Patriots are willing to pay him.
They also have some dynamic offensive weapons.
It's not clear yet what Bill Belichick wants or what the Patriots are thinking with Brady, but it didn't like any of the guys with all of that being said, nobody should expect any sort of definitive answer on Brady's future anytime soon because it looks like everybody involved is gonna take their time.
Brady is gonna make sure that he does what's best for him and his family, and Bill Bell check is going to do what he thinks is best for the team.

That's at DP, an underscore rate still to come on the gridiron rant Alex Chip and of the score is reporting that Joe Burrow is per prepared to land and play for the Bangles.
Burrows, saying, I'm not going.
I'm not not gonna play any hangman event of NFL dot com is covering reports that the Carolina can't Panthers are planning to move forward with Cam Newton as their starting quarterback.
Grand Gordon of NFL dot com is reporting that the Baltimore Ravens wide receiver marquees Brown had surgery following his rookie season.
One of my favorite writers, Burnt Buckmaster of Pat's Pulpit, breaks down five things to Patriots and all other NFL teams will be paying attention to at the combine.
And Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones has said that the Cowboys in their quarterback deck Dak Prescott, haven't had contract talks since late September.
We're starting off with these news breaks, as we all know the whole job Earl thing has been a bit of a thing.
There's been rumors that he didn't want to go and play for the Bangles.
We got drafted first overall.
Him and his family never really came out and denied anything.
They kind of just kept everybody in the dark about everything that's going on, and I think that in reality, I mean, who the hell wants to play for? This is deep ankles, right? But But I mean, like a good quarterback to turn around any kind of organization.
And I know that Carson Palmer is is working with or his brother Jordan is working with with Joe and Carson is not a fan of the Bangles and doesn't believe that they're a good organization that wants to win a Super Bowl.
But Gordon Alex shipping the score? Apparently that's different.
The article goes like this.
Projected number one overall draft pick Joe Borough diffuse speculation Tuesday that he doesn't want to land with the Cincinnati Bengals.
I'm not not gonna place the L S U quarterback told reporters at the scouting combine, according to CBS Sports Jonathan Jones.
I'm a ballplayer.
Whoever picks me, I'm going to show up.
Burrow is peppered with questions about his desire to play for the Bangles after former number one Steve Pick Steve Bartowski suggested that the 23 year old should pull in Eli Manning and forced his way to another team leading up to the combine.
The reigning Heisman Trophy winner had refrained from saying outright that he wants to play for the Bangles Quote.
I don't know what's gonna happen.
They might not pick me.
They might fall in love with someone else, Borough added on Tuesday via Albert Breer of the Monday Morning Quarterback.
You guys kind of took that narrative and ran with it, but there's never been anything like that from my end end.
Borough has yet to meet with the Bangles, but agreed with reporters assessment that it would be exciting to play in southwest Ohio near where he grew up, he said Quote, Yeah, absolutely, he said.
It's two hours, 15 minutes from my house.
I could go home for dinner if I wanted to.
Not a lot of pro athletes could get to do that.
End Quote Borough won't throw or work out at the combine, but he intends to do that at the L S u Pro Day, and that's becoming more and more of a thing.
I just wonder if one day this will combine thing will just be full of a bunch of third and fourth day in our third and fourth round draft picks.
Young has announced he's not gonna be working out here, is gonna be working out it.
Always use ah, pro day.
You got Joe Burrows.
He basically got the top two picks in the draft, not working out at the combine, and I get that a bunch of other guys will be.
But it's becoming more and more popular for that.
But it's also, I guess, good for Cincinnati in their fan base.
To hear Joe Bro makes some sort of commitment to the Cincinnati Bengals.
I mean, he'll do what he will do, and it's up to him, but I don't know.
It's just one of those strange stories they never seem to go away in.
Just one that you kind of got to keep dealing with over and over again.
Now, another story that's been really popular around the NFL is that the Carolina Panthers will move on from Cam Newton.
Then we heard that there are waiting to see what the medical test said, and they were pretty confident he was gonna pass the medical test.
We even saw rumors that he was going to go to the L.
A Chargers via trade, and I mean, if you guys remember, I think I talked about this two weeks ago when we first started talking about the whole Cam Newton thing, and I said Carolina would be absolutely crazy to move on from Cam Newton like there's nobody in the draft.
It's gonna replace him.
The guy's a former M V P.
He's dealt with some injury issues.
If he can get healthy and you can surround him with some weapons and Mike, God, give him an offensive line, the guys, he should be your franchise quarterback.
I don't even know why this was a discussion unless his health was a problem.
Well, it seems like somebody in Carolina listen to me because Angie Hagman of NFL dot com today is reporting that the Panthers plan to move forward with Cam Newton As the quarterback goes like this, the Panthers are expected to proceed with Cam Newton as their starting quarterback.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that Carolina intends to retain its longtime signal caller per source informed of the situation as rapid port notes.
While Newton is making progress in his recovery from a foot injury, it will be several months before the quarterback will be game ready, which complicates potential trade for noon.
New Panthers had coach my rule and his staff are impressed with how Newton has treated his rehab process and the quarterbacks drive to return to top form Rappaport added.
Noon appeared in two games last season after injuring his foot during the preseason.
After months of delay, he underwent the knife in December.
The foot injury was the latest ailment for the dual threat quarterback, new Nets, shoulder surgery and back to back off seasons after putting off the procedure in the past, well, a lot can change in the coming months.
With free agency in the 2020 NFL draft looming, Newton Stain and Carolina makes sense For the Panthers, having an experienced, healthy starter under center would be an advantage for the new head coach in the transition to the NFL.
I mean, 110% man.
I don't even know why they would even consider getting rid of him again unless he really is damaged goods.
And I don't think he is.
And I think about Rob Gronkowski, who went through a long stretch of surgery after surgery after surgery, and then he kind of like even was able to battle through his injuries.
Call the last couple of years and he went to two straight Super Bowls with the Patriots, not missing time, maybe a game here or there, just for some maintenance.
I mean, at the very least, you got to give him one more season.
Let him come back from this injury and see what he's still got.
Cam Newton doesn't lose all that kind of talent overnight.
I just think that I just think that they I just think that they need to go for it.
And Joe made a really good common.
This is going back talking about the combine stops.
And if a player doesn't want to work out their invite, it should be revoked and given to someone on next.
The next ranked player.
I agree with you, Joe.
Why not open it to somebody else who didn't get an invite? For whatever reason, the NFL didn't feel the need That or that they were good enough to be at that combine or whatever reason.
I mean job our own Chase Young are taking up two spots and they're not gonna work out.
I'm sure there's other guys there to those adjusted to sort of crown jewels of this draft, but absolutely I agree with you 100% man, they shouldn't and I hope that you all agree with me that I think the Carolina Panthers would be insane to get rid of Cam Newton.
I'm happy to see that they want to move forward with him. Is the quarterback.
I think it would be idiotic for them to do it.
That's just my opinion.
I can do with his two could to move on for look, if they wanted to move on from, I would take him as the Patriots quarterback in a heartbeat.
Injuries be ****ed.
I would give him a shot, and I think that the guy I don't know to me, he's one of the most disrespected quarterbacks in the league.
I don't think he's protected by the league.
I don't think that I think he's definitely been targeted.
I look, you guys know I don't talk about the subjects often.
I definitely think there was some racial profiling against Cam Newton.
110% isn't and I think that if you can protect him, he can get the calls.
The guy's a hell of a good quarterback man and one snazzy dresser.
Anybody who can dress like him.
Man, I tip my hat to you, but this was sort of some bigger news that came out today and maybe Raven fans knew this and I didn't.
And if they didn't, I apologize.
But apparently and this is, um, I forgot who wrote this? I didn't put this down in my notes, but the Ravens Marquis Brown had offseason foot surgery.
Brown's one of the guys that I think Patriot fans have compared to Keel Harry, too, and thought, you know, we could have had Hollywood.
I've more been around the depot, Samuel sort of Mark.
But Mark, he's one of the guys.
But though he was troubled during his rookie season by foot injuries marquees Hollywood, Brown was still the Ravens leading wide receiver.
The talented wide out has now eliminated any complications going forward as he underwent offseason surgery to remove a screw from his foot, which troubled him in 2019 NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday morning.
Rap report added that Brown might be limited during the offseason program, but he's on track to be fined for training camp.
Brown missed two games in 2019 and started 11 of the 14 games he played in the regular season as the Ravens broke record for rushing the ball.
Brown led the team wide receivers with 46 receptions, 584 yards and seven touchdowns.
The 22 year old Brown was selected 25th overall by the Ravens in 2019.
Now I know that people want no Patriot fans want ham, but remember, we're gonna touch too many ways unless we traded up.
But at the same time, I wanted just for my I think that the pant or the Panthers, the Ravens need to use him more next season.
I think he's a great outlet for Lamar Jackson, the Baltimore Ravens.
If you're a fan of any other team in the A F C.
Scare the hell out of me.
I think they're such a good, solid team that could do a whole lot of good things.
And I'm just I don't know, like, to me, it's just it's a little They're a little worrisome of the team, especially they can add in this year's draft in free agency, and Marquis Brown is gonna be a big one for that.
As a football fan.
I'm happy to see him back.
I always want the best players on the field, man.
I'm not somebody who wishes and hopes for injury.
I like to see the best players on the field, whether they're playing my Patriots or not.
I love to see that now, my boy Bernbach master over at Pat's pulpit, who I recommend everybody fear.
Patriots fan One of the best.
I don't know opinion aiders or bloggers.
Whatever you wanna call him in the business.
Maybe next to me, over on techno whole.
Make sure you check it out.
I'm not kidding.
What I'm kidding about Brent Brents the man.
But he wrote, It's a patriot related thing, but it's really more of an everything thing.
That's what the Patriots and other NFL teams are looking for it the com pine.
So for anybody who's maybe not too familiar with the combine is and, you know, before I really, really got in a football.
I knew it existed, but it wasn't something you paid much attention to.
Now I know the ins and outs of it, but without, you know, different times.
But the article goes like this.
Three weeks after the Super Bowl, the NFL turns its attention to Indianapolis.
The scouting combine takes place that the Colts Lucas Oil Stadium this week in 337 college players have been invited to participate in the league so called underwear Olympics.
This year, however, the event will be more than just another scouting opportunity for 32 teams in between player exhibition games and pro days all over the country.
The combine for the first time ever is now a prime time event with the most intriguing on field drills will take place in the evening, as opposed to during the day to maximize appeal for the audience.
This development is only expected to continue in the next few years, with the NFL's popularity making the combine a major sporting event in the middle of what otherwise be the down season and another opportunity to ad revenue.
I can contest to that.
If you guys have seen my YouTube numbers, they're probably the lowest has ever been.
That's not why I added the bullpen reporting started talking about baseball.
It was something I always planned to do around spring training time.
But I'm so happy that I've now added another element because with the Patriots not winning the Super Bowl football fans have checked the F out.
So I think putting the combine on prime time could really keep that interest in the NFL, even during the off season.
Anyways, he continues.
But while fans will be glued to such events as the 40 yard dash, the broad jump in the various quarterback drills, the team representatives president view at the combine will be a bit different.
It's simple, is another.
It's simply another opportunity to add the mosaic.
That is the pre draft prospect evaluation, according to the New England Patriots, And the 31 other clubs will pay close attention to different aspects of the combine than fans and reporters.
With that being said, let's take a closer look at what teams are really paying attention to this week.
Medical evaluations when the combine was initiated in the early 19 eighties by a group of executives including then Robert are Patriots general manager Francis Gilroy, Mr Bucko, One of the primary goals was to give teams an opportunity to perform standardized medical testing at a neutral site without players necessarily having to travel all over the country to visit each team separately.
Since the combines early days, the focus on medical evaluation has remained a key aspect of the event.
Scouts who have gathered medical information from the various schools will forward the information to the doctors and training personnel to perform examinations based on the available information, from weigh ins to blood and drug testing to evaluating pre existing conditions and previous surgeries.
The goal is to get a clear picture of any potential medical concerns and to grade players based on those and their long term outlook.
Medical testing has had a big impact on draft draft boards, with teams potentially moving prospects up or down based on the results of the ailment.
Them all our eliminate them altogether.
One of the best examples for a player in that later group is current Patriots defensive lineman Kun to Davis, who headed into the combine as a draftable candidate but was diagnosed with a bulging disk in his neck during his medical checkup.
He went on to go undrafted and Mrs entire rookie season due to the condition interviews.
Player interviews are equally important part of the combine as they give teams the opportunity to get a close one on ones with prospects in both formal and informal fashion.
While each team usedto have 60 interview slides for 15 minutes each, the numbers were changed a bit with combines modified scheduling.
Starting this year, clubs are only able to conduct a total of 45 interviews, with each of them lasting up to 18 minutes.
The interviews are generally held by the team's primary decision makers had coaches and general managers.
In New England's case, Bill Belichick and Nick Cesario are leading the members of the personnel department and are meant to serve two.
Primary purpose is number one to get to know what a get to know a prospect better and feel out his character and football knowledge.
And Number two is to see how he performs in a high pressure situation and reacts to unusual questions.
Now, before we get going with the article there have been, is the controversy around the questions At times where some of the players have felt like teams have asked inappropriate question, they've asked about ***ual orientations.
They've asked about other sort of stuff, and there's always some weird questions that come out of the draft.
I'm always interested to see what these G M's and what these coaches really want to know next thing that they're looking for a quart of the article, according a burnt Buckmaster, is performance under pressure.
Speaking of working under pressure, teams will try to follow.
Or I'll try to throw curveballs that prospects during interviews to see how they react, whether it's unusual questions sometimes crossing the line, as the Miami Dolphins did when they asked Dez Bryant if his mother was a, um working woman or breaking down film or play book excerpts.
Teams want to see if a player is prepared, incapable of performing and being put in uncomfortable in unusual situations.
The same holds true during the on field portion of the combine, with the spotlight being on players individually.
During each drill, the question becomes whether or not they can rise up to the occasion and performing their capabilities and a somewhat clinical setting that is the same for every participant.
While pro days are similar when it comes to players being at the center of attention, the added media circus and ah level plain feel that the combine makes it that more of a challenging environment.
I also remember going off the article or second, I think It was three years ago that Mike Tomlin was on the field during the Columbine, for whatever reason.
Usually coaches and scouts are, but he was on the field in the combine, and he switched up a drill just to screw with the players, just to see how they would react.
And I thought, No, you know, cool little tidbit.
I thought I'd share next thing they're looking for.
His tape confirmation, as noted above the combine, is only one piece of the predraft puzzle.
This is particularly true when it comes to the various on field drills.
A comparatively slow 40 yard dash, for example, will not necessarily lead to a team pushing a player down its draft board unless similar issues are also visible.
Throat is college game tapes.
Likewise, players performing above expectations do not necessarily see their great improve.
The main goal of the previous are the various positional drills is therefore to either confirm what has already been evaluated on tape or to eliminate potential blind spots in the process.
Up to that point, of course, not all drills are equally suited to do that.
The bench press, for example, carries comparatively limited meaning for teams, while they do pay close attention to agility workouts like the Three Cone Shuffle, our shuttle Ah, drill that New England actually values very highly that all being said, proper contextual ization is the key for all these drills.
Tom Brady is now legendary.
40 yard time of 5.
28 seconds, for instance, was not a reflection of limited upside as a quarterback, rather, that he would not be a dual threat at the next level and then the honestly, they just look for general conduct from body language during drills to moving around the facility from one situation to another, Scouts and members of the team of personnel departments will evaluate everything to get as complete a picture of a prospect as possible.
Considering that team interviews contain a HK place in an informal manner as well as noted above, prospects need to be able to adapt to every situation while not losing their cool or bringing their a game behaving in a professional manner throughout the entire process.
Not just well under pressure during interviews and on work, Field is therefore the key to the 300 plus man invited to the event.
Every single year.
I have to admit to you, I am not a big combine fan.
I like the look at the results after and see things.
I do not get anything out of watching 40 yard dashes and bench presses and vertical jumps and long jumps and and cone drills.
And I have no desire to watch guys do drills.
Some people love it.
Some people like to pretend they're g m's and sit there with their clipboard and come up with their own draft boards based on the combine.
I got no issues with that.
I'm a guy who rather watched the tape.
I like to go on YouTube, watch that kind of thing.
I'm trying to evaluate.
But the combine obviously has become a beast of its own.
My final story comes from Jack Brown, and it's for Stephen Jones saying there's been no contract talks with Dak Prescott since September and I think that's absolutely crazy.
It goes like this.
The time is taking for the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott to agree to a new contract, but the two parties apparently haven't talked for a significant amount of time.
Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said Monday that his team hasn't met or negotiated with the impending unrestricted free agent since September.
Now this is, according to Michael, I think.
Michael Gennaco Belkin of The Talis Morning News.
Jones added that Dallas won't agree to an extension with either Prescott or fellow free agent Amari Cooper until the collective bargaining agreement rules are determined for the 2020 season.
I'm gonna stop there for a second.
My boy Joe on SportsCastr, also known as Yon ti him and I have had this conversation before that we feel a lot of teams, Possibly the Patriots, too, when it comes to Tom Brady, are waiting to see what happens with C B A because it can completely change the whole offseason.
I went over an article that Josemi last week on the show, and it talked about how the salary cap is expected to have 10 million.
It could jump 15 to 20 million, depending on the new C B A.
So it doesn't surprise me that the Cowboys are taking this approach.
Joe's added that our story the NFL approved terms of the C B A last week with the Players Association has yet to sign the deal.
If a new agreement isn't put into place for 2020 teams will be allowed to use both franchise and transition tags instead of only one.
Well, Joe's admitted the Cowboys air facing cap challenges because of the upcoming paydays for Prescott.
In Cooper, he said, there's absolutely not a time when his team will look to move on or from that uh, move on from the pivot.
That's our quarterback.
He's our quarterback of the future, Jones says.
We have nothing but the greatest respect form.
Prescott produced the best season of his career in 2019 thrown for 4902 yards and 30 touchdowns.
I think that the Cowboys would be absolutely, positively in sane if they actually went out and got rid of the Cowboys so on.
I know that I will be hopefully covering tomorrow, that it deals and diner almost in place because I did get a thing today that not with Dak Dak and the Cowboys aren't about the c B A, uh, Joe again Joes like my research guy.
I don't even pay him. He just does it. I love it.
But Joe, a semi an article today on Twitter.
On that what I couldn't get into the show today.
The show was already done for the day, but it's definitely gonna cover tomorrow.
That and maybe I won't have to, because it's a different story altogether, but they're very close to seeing the deal.
All right, guys, that is all she wrote for the gridiron rant today.

What's going on, everybody? It's your boy Ray in.
Welcome to the bullpen report presented by DP and Sports Talk, then casted live on SportsCastr Jose Altuve.
A in the Houston Astros are the most unpopular team amongst baseball fans right now in the Detroit Tigers.
Fans let them have it yesterday, and that got me wondering today.
Could Al to ve in the Astros get the same treatment Alex Rodriguez did back in 2013.
I will discuss this story and all the latest news and rumors and opinions around Major League baseball because here, DPMNE, we like baseball.
We like baseball season.
Everything that goes with it.
If you're watching this replay on YouTube, don't forget to subscribe to hit that like button.
And if you'd like to watch my show live every day, either the bullpen report or the gridiron rant where I talk about the world of football, I've left the length of my SportsCastr description or my SportsCastr channel in the description.
So look as Jose Altuve a was announced over the big speaker for his first at bat on Monday, when the Astros reversing the Detroit Tigers, he was showered with booze and hecklers, reminding him and the rest of the Astros that they are cheaters.
Should have got here should get used to this treatment because it's on Lee going to get worse.
As the season goes on, the Astros home games will be less of home field advantage and more of a reprieve from the shower of hate that will be rained down on them for the rest of the season.
I'll to big claim that the jeers didn't bother him and that he didn't hear the fans booing and and didn't hear their taunts.
And he says to him and his teammates, I just heard a lot of noise. He said, quote.
We were focused on playing baseball.
We know what we need to do to get on the field, to get ready to be prepared for the upcoming season, he added.
That's what we're thinking about right now.
They did receive one big cheer.
It was after he struck out yesterday, so he wasn't boot the whole time and This is a long fall for Jose Altuve a who was once probably one of the more popular players in major league baseball.
But as he said, the Astros are insistent that the game, you know, is not about the fans, and it's more about baseball.
That still remains to be seen along with out to be Alex Bergman, Carlo Correra, Ugur Gloria all played in their first game of the season.
The crowd, made up of mostly Tiger fans, booed them during batting practice.
They booed them during the announcement of the starting lineup.
They booed them at bat, and basically, they just let them know that the Houston Astros are the most despise team amongst baseball fans.
The Astros did a fairly good job of blocking out all the noise.
They pounded the Tigers 11 toe, one in a meaningless game in February.
They probably did block out the noise, but it's it's one thing to block out noise when you're doing it in front of less than 5000 people.
It's gonna be a whole nother story when you start playing on the road in big league parts.
The Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire, he didn't really take shots at the Astros, but he showed very little sympathy, he said.
There's frustration in the fan base and they have a right to voice their opinion.
The Astros, they're gonna have to wear it for a while and eventually it will move on.
But fans, they're going to voice their opinions and they have a right to those guys understand it over there, and they're gonna have to go about their business and getting ready for the season end.
Quote in the first inning out to be was grazed by Tigers pitcher Mathew Boyd.
But both point and the Astros manager Dusty Baker said it was unintentional.
He was hit in the foot.
That ain't nothing.
You know what I mean? Use Nationals manager Dusty Baker, Dusty Baker said on Monday.
Ah, he says, You know it wasn't intentional, Boyd said.
It's spring training. Honestly, let it die.
What's done is done.
I know how everybody feels, but no one is going to change anything now.
The punishment's been handed out.
The line's been drawn in the sand.
Hopefully it shuts down and it's just best for everyone to move forward.
They've gotta live with it.
and that's more than enough punishment.
And I'm sure that the throw was an intentional.
Nobody is sending a message during a spring training game in February, but I wonder if L.
Tuvia and company could get the Alex Rodriguez treatment as they go through the regular season.
And look, obviously, the Astros, they have to expect that they're gonna be enemy number one when they're visiting an opponent.
Anaconda reminds me of a Rod back in 2013 when he was appealing his P D suspension.
Rodriguez was booed everywhere he went.
And then things finally reached a boiling point at Fenway Park on Sunday night.
Baseball, Boston Red Sox and pitcher Ryan Dempster through inside.
He threw behind, and then he finally tagged Alex Rodriguez.
It started a Malay and Joe got upset, but it wasn't an unexpected turn of events, and Dempster showed no remorse and had no issues.
Delivering an old school baseball justice and a part of me has to wonder if the Astros, maybe some of the players, get some of the same treatment this season because their colleagues around the league are ****ed off.
Let's just see what it is.
The Houston Astros are going to feel no love outside of Houston, and whether they like it or not, they're championship will be *****ed.
Whether or not the team in the fan base care.
That doesn't really matter that this time, it's just the facts of what we're talking about.
The Astros players are gonna have to take what's coming.
And look at some point, the opposing players will move on.
At some point, the fans will move on.
At some point, the media will move on and people will stop caring about it.
It will never die on Twitter and being a Patriots fan, I can tell you it never dies on Twitter, but people move on.
But right now it's a very compelling story, and it's going to be very fun.
Watch the Astros road games, at least for the beginning part of the season.

Report Andy Martinez s.
And why gives his opinion why it's not too early for the New York Yankees toe worry about Miguel and do our Christopher Smith a Mass Live is reporting that the MLB has finished interviews.
They've finished collecting information regarding the Boston Red Sox in this supposed cheating scandal, but it could be a little bit before a decision is made and Rodgers MLB dot com wrote a piece today, wrote a piece yesterday, apologize about ST Louis Carlo Cardinals Carlos Martinez and asked whether he's an in house option to be a starter for the Cardinals, Of course, is a lot of follow for the Houston Astros being exposed.
Jose Altuve has been at the center of the storm, but he has an ally in Detroit Tigers Miguel Cabrera, who doesn't believe that all too they had anything to do with the cheating and the New York Yankees got some bad news today.
They're right hander Luis Severino.
Sereno needs Tommy John.
It will be out for the season.
I know how to say names.
It's a soon as I come on here I go crazy.
But as I said in the beginning, Andy Martino Vest on Why wrote today that it's too early for Yankees fans and the Yankees to worry about Miguel and Du Har? And here's what he says.
Days before Miguel and you are decided to have season ending Soul JJ surgery last May, the team was preparing to option him to Triple A.
Miguel had finished in second place the year before in American League Rookie of the Year voting but was not performing after a return from the disabled list.
The Yankees couldn't carry him anymore.
Everyone involved concluded that the issue was injury, not talent or skill.
Miguel made the difficult decision to shut it down for the year.
Now he's back, and the Yanks hope that is G****fruit League home run.
Sunday served as an early hint that he will not be the shell of himself who nearly tumbled back to the minors last year but the dynamic hitter who stormed through on his first trip around the American League in 2018.
If Miguel continues to produce in exhibition games, questions will intensify about where he fits.
But after asking about this in several conversations with the Yankees people in spring, we have a pretty clear view of the organization stance.
They're glad he's back, and we'll figure it out and figure out the details later.
Barring a terrible spring, Geo Ursula is set to be the starting third baseman.
Manager Aaron Boone made this clear in recent interviews with.
Why, we'll ask the ad inertia will have to continue to perform in the job if he wants to keep it.
You could say that his job security is far greater than Clint Frazier's was but worse than Aaron judges.
Food has been impressed to spring, though not surprised by Miguel's work ethic and embrace of whatever role he finds and one of their first conversations this year, Miguel Bag to play as soon as possible.
Once the G****fruit League season began, he is happy to learn toe learn, left field and first base.
If all of his teammates are healthy a big if ah, Yankees camp that has already seen Judge and Louise Siriano, Miss time.
Miguel might have to begin the season at Triple A.
He has options, and he's behind Um, hum, Hirsch align the third Luke void at first, and Brett Gardner and Mike talk him in left field.
If the roster does shake out that way, Miguel likely won't remain down for long.
It's still unclear if you avoid inertia will become mainstays, though the former will benefit from surgery to repair the sports hernia that limited last year, and the later carries a legitimate set of tools on the fields.
Judge and Staten have struggled in recent years to remain on the field, opening up possibilities for a D H F bats from ago.
As for where he fits in an ideal world, it's hard to say.
Last spring, the Yankees were working on Miguel's first step movements in an effort to improve his range of third team evaluators, were optimistic about the progress and had not determined that he would be ultimately have to move positions because of Miguel's past issues with throwing, Perhaps first base will be his final home, Perhaps will be an average defender anywhere.
Truly, the eighties don't need to know yet.
Injuries and performance tend to sort out questions like this.
For now, the team is just happy to see him at bat woo.
A major league baseball doesn't get any better than that, eh? But here's the story I want to talk about.
This gun's again from Krista Smith, and it's a Boston Red Sox deal investigation.
MLB done with interviews, gathering information, but decisions still to be determined.
Um, you know, the Red Sox really got dragged into this situation.
I'm not a Red Sox fan.
I think I need to disclose that right away.
I think people will watch me for a while.
No one, not a Red Sox fan.
Um, I don't think that they cheated in 2018 again.
We'll have to see what the investigation says.
That I'm not just saying that because a majority of my fan base is from Boston or cheers for Boston teams.
I'm saying that I believe it, Um, but it radical losing this.
The results of the MLB is investigation of the 2018 Red Sox for illegal sign stealing should come soon all interviews have been conducted, all information has been gathered.
The athletic reported that the Red Sox used their video replay room to illegally decode signs in the 2018 season.
The latest we have is simply that no decision has been made yet, Major League Baseball Players Association executive director Tony Clark said.
We'll wait to hear from the league as to what? The decision, maybe.
But as of right now, we understand that the interviews that were going on are going to have and did have as well as the information that they had gathering from beyond the player interviews has all happened, and now we're just waiting for the decisions itself.
MLB commissioner Rob Manford said February 16th the process was slow when MBA MLB needed to interview certain witnesses after new developments emerged.
At that point, Manfred expected to conclude the investigation by the end of this week.
I think the Red Sox players understand the process, Clark said.
Obviously everybody's looking forward to the 2020 season and we'd like to put this behind.
Inter manager Ron Rennick e also said that the Red Sox want to put the investigation behind them.
I know you kind of push it off because you've got all this other stuff to do.
But it's always there, right? Nicky said.
So it would be nice to get it done.
Reinecke, the bench coach 2018 is confident the MLB won't find any him to be involved.
Told he doesn't look worried, Ray, Nikki replied.
I'm not not for me.
Yeah, I don't know what's gonna come out of this, but I know what I do.
And I know about my job.
And take what supposedly supposed to be serious end quote.
Maybe they didn't do it. Maybe they didn't.
But I'm just kind of getting tired of it.
Um, I know that I don't know.
You know what? Like they've already made the steps.
They already fired their manager.
They've, you know, made moves.
And I don't know.
I'm just I'm at a point where I'm like, man, just look, let's just get it done.
Let's get back to baseball.
Let's get back to just enjoying the sport of baseball and not all these stupid, just out of scandals or whatever you want to call them.
So actually want to talk about a player, and this comes from and Roger's mental be dot com, It's do the cards have another lethal starter in house? As Carlos Martinez worked through a right shoulder issue the past two years and was moved to the bullpen, he still made it clear that he wanted back in the rotation.
But saying it over and over didn't just make it happen.
Injuries prevented the right hander from sustaining his starters workload in 2018 and he ended that year in the bullpen with lingering shoulder trouble.
Last year, Martinez didn't throw an inning in spring games because of the shoulder weakness.
He was moved to the bullpen and emerges the Cardinals closer in the second half.
This spring, Martinez is back on a starter schedule, competing for one of the two open spots in the Cards rotation.
Above all, he's back on the mound, which shouldn't be taken lightly after last spring.
He can't be in the starter mix if he's not out there, manager Mike Schlitz Ah said before Martinez made this spring debut on Sunday.
He's out there giving himself a legitimate chance to compete for that spot, and we're thrilled for him.
Martinez threw 34 pitches Sunday against the Mets, speeding through his first inning before two walks led to two runs in the extra for in the next frame.
Perhaps more important in the outing itself was how Martinez recovers.
Martinez wasn't available for comment Sunday or Monday, but Schlitt said there's no concerns on that, and the right hander played catch Monday morning.
It will be just that Martinez recovery in preparation in between outings that will determine if the two time All Star can return to the rotation this year.
I think the games are going to matter, of course, let's said.
But it's just really about what he does drink and during the work and how he recovers in between the games.
That's really gonna dictate as we try to ramp him up.
Is he able to pitch well, which were comfortable and confident he will with the weapons he has? It's just about recovery and being able to build up with the starter.
Martinez has had the talent to care himself was an effective starter and then closer for years, but the Cardinals have wanted to see a consistent approach to his pregame routine as his routine between starts, especially after dealing with injuries the last few years.
He focused on conditioning this offseason and showed up to spring slimmer and ready to be on a starter schedule.
Martinez said last week that he added flexibility to his plan in between throwing days.
He's emphasized that listening to his body is going to be important this year more than ever, and he wants to be smart with his health so he could sustain it.
Quote, Everybody knows, got tremendous stuff, says a starter, Adam Wainwright, And he just as cool as a cu***ber out there.
The game has always been really easy for Carlos from an athletic point.
So when he gets himself into the right mind frame in position to make pitches, he could be really, really dangerous and a great weapon.
So he's one of the top most talented people in the game.
No question about it. End quote.
Sometimes a picture's routine off the field is Justus important as how he performs on it? Wayne rights, devoted to a routine that has allowed him to pitch in the majors for 14 years, should consistently praises Jack Flaherty's routine of preparation.
Two components it allowed Flaherty to take his talent to the historic second half. He had a 2019.
If Martinez can put his talent together with the devoted routine, he'll be adding another elite arm to the cards rotation.
And if you can stay healthy and recover after throwing, he can be what he has shown sled side on All Star.
I love these stories in baseball.
We see it a lot, guys to kind of get, you know, pushed back into the bullpen.
Maybe not for, you know, performance issues, but because of injury or anything of that nature.
And, um, and I love when they can work themselves waiting.
We're and work themselves back to it and start pitching again.
The Cardinals have a pretty good 123 that 45 is under.
You know it's suspect, and Carlos can definitely go in there, and Martinez would definitely go in there and be an impact player.
But I don't think you did a really good job of the closer last year, so I mean, that's a tough.
That's a tough pill to come off of, cause you gotta replace it one way or the other, right? That's just my opinion, but it's got to be replaced one way or the other.
So it'll be interesting to see this was a really interesting story coming up for me, and I don't want to spend like every day talking about the Houston Astros.
But like I talked about at the top of my show on my block on techno hold today, the Astros were blue against Detroit lawyer, the train lines Detroit Tigers and I still got football, my brain, Detroit Tigers.
But Miguel Cabrera Miggy, whatever you wanna call him, Um, he came out today are the other day and he said that well, two days, no cheater that he looked him in the eye and said that he didn't do it, and I think that's really interesting.
This comes from Chris.
Chris Makowski of The Detroit News goes Miguel Cabrera confronted his friend invent Venezuela countryman Jose Altuve and asked him if he was cheating two years ago.
We knew what we knew that the Houston Astros side stealing massive methods from a long time ago, Cabrera said Monday morning.
Two years ago, we knew so when I asked him again this off season, it was the same conversation we had two years ago.
Well, Tuvia is adamantly denied charges that he wore a buzzer underneath his jersey in the A L.
C s last year, and he also denied that he used a sign stealing system.
The Astros had him placed in 2017 and 2018.
In fact, data recorded off the video of each Astros.
Gain supports Al to vase denial, quote.
He told me that he didn't do it, and I believe in, Cabrera said.
People made fun of him about the tattoo, but that's really it's really end. Quote.
Cultivate told reporters that he didn't want his shirt ripped off after hit a walk off home run to beat the Yankees in Game six last year because he had a tattoo on his shoulder that wasn't finished early in spring, training out to be walked past reporters on a shirt on overtly displaying the Finnish tattoo quote.
But when you're involved in a team like that, a team that's doing that kind of stuff you were a part of a prayer said, even if you don't do it guilty by association.
Still, Cabrera reached out to all to ve again this winter.
Quote I believe he didn't do because he said it to my face.
Compare study looked me in the eye and he said that he didn't do it.
Ribera Seymour perturbed that former teammate Mike Fires without the initial whistle blower on the Astros, even though Fire's warned Tigers pitchers about the Astros methods when he was in Detroit, 2018 Cabrera felt it was hypocritical that he didn't speak up when he was with the Astros.
Mostly, though, Cabrera wants the episode.
We put the bed quote it's over with, he said.
It's not good for baseball, So why keep talking about something that is not good for baseball? It's over.
The commissioner made a statement, and that's it.
We can't do anything about it.
And you know, this whole Mike fires thing is really interesting to, and I kind of agree with Miguel Cabrera, and I think you know David Ortiz said the same thing.
It'll be Poppy came out and he said, Yeah, after you got your ring after you got your money after you got everything that comes with being a champion, Then you came out.
You spoke up against it.
Why didn't you speak out against in 2017.
Why didn't you speak out against it when you were making a World Series run? When you knew you were screwing the Yankees, when you knew you were screwing everybody else, I forgot who they beat.
Would they beat the Dodgers? I figured it would be in the finals anyways, but why didn't you speak up then? Because fire alarms there, Mike Fires is just as guilty of all this as as all too vase.
And maybe Jose had nothing to do with it.
Maybe he did everything on his own.
He still knew about it.
Look, Mike Fires knew about like Bergman knew about it.
The whole team knew about it.
You know, Mike fires the whistle blower who's being dubbed this this hero right now.
He would have been a hero if you would have done in 2017.
But it's my opinion.
I'm not always right.
I know I'm not always right.
But that's my opinion.
So I don't I'm not ready to dob him a hero if that makes sense, you know? And lastly, this is from Tom remains.
Right hander Louise Submarino requires season, ending Tommy John surgery, the New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman announced on Tuesday.
According to Brian Hodge of MLB dot com Quote.
Doctors have concluded that Tommy John is necessary, Cashman said.
Obviously seven acknowledge and agreed with the surgery is necessary.
His plan is to have it done as soon as possible.
In these, contemplate is, um contemplating the doctors and what to do it, do it and who to do it with.
He's got away the doctor and who to do with it.
An M R I revealed a partial.
You see Altair and the Starters Pictures forearm.
According to Sweeney Murdy of the W. F. A M.
Ceferino, 26 was shut down last Friday after experience on and off forearm soreness dating back to his last start in the 2019 a.
The two time All Star only made three starts from the 2019 regular season after dealing with numerous injuries.
New York gave Severino a four year, $40 million extension February 2019.
The Yankees starting rotation is already missing two projected starters before Sereno Submarino News lefthander James Paxton is expected to miss three or four months after having back surgery in early February, and right hander Domingo German won't return until some point in June due to a domestic violence suspension.
The big boys of the A L the L East are in trouble.
They really are.
This could be a season that we see a team like the Blue Jays possibly make a run, and I know that sounds funny and almost laughable.
But your trouble Blue Jays have some pretty good young prospects coming up are coming up plane.
They got some pretty young guys and they just brought it right.
You and they got a pretty solid team.
And if the pitching can come together this year, if Vlad Guerrero Jr comes back a little slimmer, a little healthier, you got Bobo's shot.
Who, as far as I'm concerned, is the best talent they have on that team from that young core.
Got a couple of savvy veterans with the Yankees pitching problems being prelevic with the Red Sox being an absolute mess.
I mean, you could see a year.
This could be a year that Tampa Bay and Toronto are battling it out.
You know, we're always so usedto either it being the Red Sox and the Yankees with a couple of years ever.
The Jays won the East or they want it once and with wild card the next year.
This could be one of those seasons the Yankees got power, man.
But pitching is gonna be an issue for them and the Reds.
I've got a lot of issues.
The Reds lie has got a lot of issues.
They have a lot of talent, and if it can come together, the Red Sox have enough talent to easily just bounce back and take the L East.
But Mookie Betts is gone now.
They've lost David Price and losing prices and huge in the in the piece of how great of a Patriot.
But that's a big hole in rotation.
They gotta fill.
It's gonna be interesting.
It's gonna be an interesting season watch this year, And guys with that being said that is it for the bullpen report today.
