the one we have for you today as I actually turned my mic on.
Welcome to the Stream.
I'm going to go ahead and share this link out real quick, and then we will get into the match preview as, Ah, we've got just about, Um, just over five minutes until kickoff, I'll go into the preview and we'll talk about the lineups.
Today it is Chelsea versus Bayern Munich, Chelsea hosting, and I'll get into all the pre match here in a second.
After I share, the link should obey.
All right, Um may go ahead and tweet that out and get everybody in the stream, and we will see how things were going.
But, um, first things first.
We have our match preview and we'll talk about what's going on.
So welcome everyone to the Champions League round of 16 where there begins to be no such thing as an easy match up in every single minute and hold the moment that makes or breaks a team's European campaign.
There is no Europa League parachute.
The stakes are in over two legs or go home.
The stage is Stamford Bridge, the players the likes of Robert Levendosky and Olivier Giroud.
Chelsea host Bayern Munich just shy of eight years since that meeting at the aliens in the Champions League final, the night that Didi a drug but took Chelsea to the summit that they pursued ever since the takeover of the club Bayram, Roman Abramovich and the night that Byron suffered a defeat in the main attraction on their home patch.
Chelsea come into this game with everything to prove.
Their young squad came out of the gates in the Premier League firing, but they've struggled of late, winning just one of their last five Premier League games.
The Champions League campaign has been a bit stop start as well, needing a narrow win over Lil and a Valencia win over I Ax to advance on the final match day.
They were able to advance to the knockouts a regular occurrence, but they'll be looking to buck a worrying trend.
Chelsea have reached the knockout stages of the Champions League 14 times in 17 seasons since 2003.
04 Onley Rail, Madrid, Barcelona and their opponents today, Byron can boast more knockout appearances over that time.
However, the Blues haven't made it past the round of 16 since 2013 14.
In fact, Chelsea haven't registered a win in a knockout stage game in their last four ties.
Drawing for and losing for hosting hasn't helped the Blues in the competition either, as that Leo win stands as the only home Champions League win in their last six games.
In addition to trying to reverse this curse, Frank Lampard will be trying to impart some of his experience onto his players as the former Chelsea midfielder scored three goals against Bayern Munich and four Champions League games and converted a penalty in that fateful final in Bavaria.
They say time heals all wounds, but that mantra is likely not true for does not hold true for Byron fans seeking vengeance for that home defeat that many die Roten fans saw as a smashing grab by the Londoners.
Since that night, though, Byron have carried a bit of a vendetta against English sides, eliminating four of the last five sides they have faced from old bloody in the competition.
With last season's elimination at the hands of Liverpool, the only park on an otherwise spotless record, this is also their 12th consecutive knockout appearance with seven of the last eight leading 2/4 finals appearances.
Their league form has also improved as early struggles have seen the perennial champions reclaim top spot in the Bundesliga.
They've won five of their last six league games and scored at least three goals in each win.
Their group stage was even Maur impeccable in this Kant competition as they won all six games and posted a goal difference of plus 19.
This was due in no small part to Robert Levendosky, who is having another storming season already into the double digits and Champions League goals.
And Serge Gnabry, who on his last trip to London registered four goals at the hands of Tottenham in route to a famous +72 When goals in this picture are something of a tradition, with last four matches in this picture producing 17 goals or just over four goals a game.
So we should be in for an absolute treat.
Thank you guys for joining me for this.
Ah, for this contest, it should be a lot of fun as we get a look at Ah at the bridge Stamford Bridge site for this one.
It is Chelsea's goal, obviously to be competitive in the Champions League.
They claim the trophy the last time at the Aliens Arena in Bavaria in a shocking win over Bayern Munich in Piron certainly won't have forgotten.
That is, that was the last meeting between these two sides.
We take a look at the starting lineups, first for the hosts, a changing goal.
Willy Caballero getting a start, his first start of the season in the Champions League for Chelsea in place of Kepa Aretha Blaga, who falls to the bench.
Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christiansen and Cesar Azpilicueta make up what looks like a back three or a back five if you, Ah if you think the wing backs will be more defensive with those wingbacks being Marcus Alonso on the left and Reese James on the right, Matteo Kovacevic and Georgie no make up a two man midfield, with Ross Barkley and Mason Mount playing in more advanced areas behind Olivier Giroud, who scored in Ah, Chelsea's win over Tottenham last weekend.
Um, Byron, on the other hand, not too many unfamiliar names, but a couple of different, different looks from what we've seen recently from them, Manuel Neuer, the ever present start single Alfonso Davies, the breakout Canadian star starts at left back.
David Alba and Jerome Boateng are going to start in that central defense.
A little bit of a change for Alabama.
But given the emergence of Davies in that ah left back spot, it's Ah, slightly different look from Byron and Benjamin provided that the young Frenchman starts at right back.
Tiago Ah and Joshua Kimmich will make up the deeper lying Byron midfield as Pa Var takes that right back spot with ah Khe image taking up Ah, more central area and then across the front four, it is three attacking names.
Search Gonna bury his last trip to London.
As I said, Ah yielded all four of his Champions League goals so far this campaign a storming performance against former rival Tottenham ****nal product back in London and against another stern ****nal rival will see if he can have the same impact that would be quite in him.
It in impact for Byron if he does, Kingsley Koman starts on the opposite flank, getting back into the side, and then Thomas Mueller starts in central attacking midfield with ah with Philippe Cotino dropped to the bench.
Robert Levendosky stuff starts up top.
The man needs no introduction, but I'll give it to him anyways.
25 Bundesliga goals already this season.
10 Champions League goals in six games and then 63 Champions League goals in his career between Bercy, a doorman and Bayern Munich.
So Levendosky is obviously the danger man here as we look across the benches for both teams, Chelsea have kept on the bench.
Kurt Zouma, Emerson, Billy Gilmore.
The youth product gets a spot on the bench.
Peh dro Tammy Abraham dropped to the bench, Um, in favor of shrewd, obviously, and then William, um, available off the bench as well.
Ah, Angola! Conti misses out.
Probably most notably Ah, as far as Chelsea's injuries with Hudson.
The delay also not fit for this one.
And then ah Byron, on the other hand, spent Ullrich, Alvaro, Audrey A Zola.
Corrine Tinsel is so Joshua's IRK.
See Leon Goretzka, Lucas Hernandez and Philippe Cotino as Byron kick off and we are underway at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea and Bayern in the knockout stages.
A big matchup for both sides.
Obviously looking to advance past this stage of the competition is Chelsea into the attack early and Bayern Ah not able to get this one out fully.
But Chelsea opting to play it back to Antonio Antonio Rudiger in central defense rather than pressing the attack.
Little bit of a dallying on the ball by Georgina there and Alfonso Davies streaming forward.
He finds Thomas Mueller on the edge of the area and test copy Aargh early.
But it is saved by the veteran Argentine keeper Georgino with a bad giveaway in midfield for Chelsea.
And you won't be able to get away with many situations like those well done by Davies to get to the edge of the area and find Thomas Mueller Chelsea trying to go long down the other up the other end of the field, cut out initially by Byron.
But Chelsea keep possession.
Kovacevic watches this time with the giveaway, Byron's pressure telling Levendosky finds coma not on the right.
Cross comes back into the center and nearly from Thomas Mueller, just he tried to dummy it and leave it for Levendosky.
It was cut out, and now Byron winning it back again.
Chelsea just having a little bit of trouble playing through midfield.
They're getting a little.
Maybe a little bit ****y as now.
Byron threatening the pack again.
His Mueller look through for a through ball.
It was cut out smartly initially by Rudiger Koman.
Finds provided on the overlap.
But it's back to coma.
Drops into Joshua Key.
**** who? Ah, has been a staple of Byron's midfield rather than the breakout right back.
Ah, that he was when he first broke into the into the team and a foul now given away Mason Mount on Alfonso Davies.
A little bit of a tough Ah, a little bit of a tough challenge there.
Yeah, amount Just mount wins the ball initially, but his studs land straight on Davis ankle So it's always gonna be a foul and ah, maybe a little lucky toe Get away without a yellow card there Thanks to ah D c for Hector, for the for the tip.
I appreciate it and ah, yeah, thank you guys for tuning in.
Um, it is these These games always carry so much weight.
These are the type of matchups that we will talk about and remember for years on years, even though it is just a round of 16 and this is the type of game that the Champions League produces.
Davies, found down the left hand side by the long ball over the top, wins the throw for Bayern.
Alfonso Davies, one of the great stories in world football right now as team was.
Ah, he's born and born in Ghana to, Ah, Liberian refugees his parents.
Ah, than seeking a new life in Canada, Um, and moved to Edmondson, where Alfonso started playing as as a kid in a free soccer program.
Um, and his ah, his discovery by a youth club called Edmonton Strikers and then FC Edmonton and then finally on to Vancouver.
Whitecaps has led him tow, tow, Bayern Munich in what an opportunity for him.
He's been a staple in the in the starting side as well.
He's been in the starting 11 in the Bundesliga, and he's carrying that now into Champions League appearances as well.
The meteoric rise of a a player who obviously plied his trade a little bit far further forward, um, at the MLS Lovelies, primarily playing as a winger.
Um, now Ah, now left back in Byron set up, but obviously with plenty of license to attack and he's been very effective so far.
Two Champions League assists already in six games this season and just a little bit of a shove by Bullet Tang is he jumped with the rude in midfield games.
Settled down a bit since those couple of early chances from Bayern.
But Chelsea, still having a little bit of an issue playing the way that they want out from the back is that's a giveaway again.
Davies with the interception, but asked a little bit too much of his touch there.
Chelsea do win it back.
Marcus Alonso Finding Ross Barkley, who's drifted out to the left hand side, Left what it cross drilled in.
Comes off of Comes off of Ah Boulevard and it's out for a Ah Chelsea throw.
Deep Environ territory.
Barkley Trying to go around.
Excuse me, Mason Mount trying to go around the Byron defenders.
Able to get it out.
Levendosky finds Gun Avary, but his ah, it's past him a little over hit under pressure there, and it cannons back off of Cantabrian into Chelsea's possession.
Reese James Cross eventually played by Azpilicueta, but it's and it's off a Bayern defender and out for a Chelsea throw Hans Dieter Flick, the coach of Ah Byron, the manager.
He's got the interim tag ever since the sacking of Nico Kovach, Um Byron have said that they are going to pursue a full time replacement in the summer, but for the time being he's got the job and I think, uh, that bit of stability and that little change has reinvigorated Byron season.
They are back in in first place, top of the Bundesliga in one point, just one point clear of Barbie Leipzig.
It is much more of a title race than we've seen in Germany in recent years as Azpilicueta will take this throw long into the box.
Headed away initially by Tiago comes out for mount on the edge of the area who blazes over with the left foot, a long ball out from the back, have our plays it and buyer now looking to settle things down there in a little bit direct toe.
Start this game and now they're going long again and over hit over the head of gonna bury and out for a Chelsea throw alibi, looking to play that early ball out from the back and couldn't quite find the right power and trajectory on that one to find gonna Brean behind.
But Bayern do look to Lowell teams to sleep and then hit on the brake.
Been freescoring of late, as I said in the uh in the pre match buildup, scoring at least three goals in each of their last five wins.
Ball rolled through into the path of Koman.
But just a little too long for me.
Couldn't keep it in despite his best efforts.
Lots of ah firepower on the bench for for Bayern, with Cotino and Goretzka both both available.
Um, obviously Tammy Abraham and William Uhm available off the bench for Chelsea as well.
So options for both sides, if if and when they need changes is mount into the area mount with the left foot deflected and ah may have just mis hit that.
Joe Rude was making a run in the center, and it was a long ball out from Caballero that started this move in a in a good win of the header by Giroud.
The flick on found Mount Mount cut inside of Davies, but then, ah, in the end, he just mis hit his shot and ah Maybe the better option was trying to roll through a ball for Gia.
Rude, but not a lot of space in there and well done by Byron Toe get back and closed down that space.
But that initial header win by showroom was was a good one in could have created a very dangerous situation for Byron to deal with.
But Bayern back down the other end of our down the right hand side Cross came in but over hit in front of Ah Robert Levendosky.
He's going to be the target.
No, no ah, no prizes for guessing that just having another scintillating season as a goal score.
It's unbelievable, really, that he's continuing to do it At 31 years old.
Yeah, Brevard was looking to whip that one to the back post, and it didn't quite curl enough.
Little too straight of a ball and goal kick to ah to Chelsea.
And Caballero is looking for the head of Drew with every with every ah goal kick and Drood in trying to win that header, just ah caught boat saying a little bit, just an arm across the face of Boe, taking nothing, nothing malicious, but both sang, certainly catching a arm across the face foul goes against your rude and Byron will have a free kick as we've played just over 10 minutes at Stamford Bridge, still knotted at zero.
Really, the only chance is to speak of have gone Byron's way so far, but Chelsea ah still creating, um, certainly able to ah, to create chances is Barkley trying to bully his way through? But Byron able to get the ball clear to coma.
And the one, too, with Mueller's good.
Komen's through on gold Kingsley comb on Annie's fluff, his lines Levendosky asking the question of ****ty should he pass the ball.
I think the shot was on for common, but he really he went near post and he probably should have gone far.
The one, too with Mueller was brilliant.
Coleman was in, and could he just have rolled it across? It would have been it would have taken a good ball, but it he probably should have gone probably should have gone far post disappointed not to hit the target for sure, is now chemical with improvised pass.
Ah doesn't quite come off for him, but Alba able to get the to the ball first and Byron, back in possession, both sang, playing it through the midfield, and it finds its way out to Brevard on the right.
Well, that was That was a big moment for Byron, as obviously any a Waigel that you can snag in.
Ah, these ties can can prove just absolutely vital of our played a good ball through for for Moeller.
He looked for the returned 11 dusky and then Levin, dusky with a unnecessary foul on Mason Mount.
Really, Mueller looked to play that passed too quick.
I think he had a chance to to play there, to take a touch and then play the paths instead.
He ah, he tried to play it first time and didn't really make a good contact with it.
And then Levendosky in really in frustration of the initial ball when he had a chance to win it back.
Um fouled Mason Mount despite the fact that he probably would have gotten to the ball anyways without Aah! Manhandling the young Englishman from Ah from Portsmouth.
As the ball comes across to prove ARD bullet saying drills the ball into the feet of Mueller.
It feels like a sentence from, ah, a decade ago.
Koman out to Thomas Muller.
Thomas Muller, the the veteran in the side.
Third, still a year younger than Levendosky, which seems seems crazy just because of Mueller's diminished influence in the Germany side.
And obviously for Byron as well as they've brought in, you know, more attacking pieces.
And but, um, the vile time native, a Bavarian, um, and a Iron Youth product has quite the record 44 Champions League goals to his name for Bayern Munich.
What a servant of the club and playing well in the early stages as well.
Might have had an assist already if if Coleman had dispatched his chance Kim IQ playing it out from the back.
But Canaveral tried to touch it around the corner to himself.
Couldn't quite get it right and then Georginio ableto maintain possession for Chelsea.
Now Davis, trying to guard Mount both nineteen's going against each other here.
Question of offside.
Maybe against mount in the uh in the build up their butt ball given away in the end by Chelsea anyways and will find its way to Kim IQ from Tiago before it again.
Levendosky looking for that kind of flick around the corner, but gives the ball away and it's just, uh they're being.
They're trying to play the one touch stuff, but when ah, when you know your teammates aren't that close to you, it's it's tough to be able to play.
Those passes may be better to try to hold the ball up and take a touch.
But who am I to say any any criticism about aside like Bayern Munich? And indeed, a player of the caliber of Robert Levendosky? Just absolute legend in German football as this longball over the top is looking for Levendosky? Is he onside? Levendosky hits it first time with left foot, and it's behind for a corner.
Caballero with the save? Well, it went from no danger at all to utter danger.
Any what? He was on side as well.
Rigor played him on, and he tried to hit it left footed.
First time nothing Christian thing could do about it, and it's reminiscent of Allison saved yesterday for Liverpool on on Ah, on Bowen from West Ham, as he, uh, didn't know much about it, but he got his positioning, right? But Byron, do you have a corner floated in toward the near post, flicked on, and it was there for someone to make that far post run, the the initial flick coming from gonna bury at the near post.
It's one of those that he just needed.
Someone at the far post to make any sort of contact in boating made his run too close to the center of the goal.
Anyone at the far Post it and it would have been its happen.
Another nearly moment for Byron it as we've played 15.
Still not it at zero.
Ah, it is Byron creating the more dangerous opportunities.
But they on Lee have the two shots on goal, but they they have set up well here in hunts Deer flick, the manager obviously trying to get the most out of a trip to a trip to London because, ah, any goal, any goal scored here could be so vital.
As I said, the the downfall really of Byron last year in in the Champions League was not the 31 at the Orleans as much as it was ah coming away with a no nil at Anfield.
Um, because any gold they had scored at Anfield would have been would have been so vital.
And it really just made it.
Where once Liverpool open the scoring with an away goal, they had to play so open and they had to play, um, for those goals and eventually it did undo them.
Um, as that longball over the top by Byron is headed out bizarrely like Caballero and Byron have it straight back.
It was a long ball over the top from Alba, and Caballero looked like he could have just let it come to him and catch it comfortable when he came out and headed in a way, No real Byron players challenging for it.
But Mason Mountains in behind now track by Davis Davis has gotten back well and really well, um, and and actually wins a goal kick for Bayern Munich.
Well done by the by the Canadian left back there.
It was a really good run from Mason Mount and a and a good ball to find him but his ah recovery speed from Davis and then the strength to just hold off Mt.
Without fouling him mount, actually probably fouling Davis and in the process, really well done, and you can already see the quality that he's brought to the spire inside.
That No one gets into a fire inside for free as 11 dusky trying to turn on the ball here and fouled Tiago with the pass into the feet of 11.
Caught there by iron.
Comfortable so far, but a couple of little warning bells ringing, as Chelsea has threatened a couple of times to get in behind.
Just need to be careful to not be lulled into that sense of security because the counter attacks still a looming threat for for Chelsea.
Right now, they're trying to play out from the back, though.
Marcus Alonso, with the ball on the left and the first little spell of possession for quite a while from Chelsea, is Kovacevic switches the ball out wide taken down by James and crossed into the box dangerously.
Alibi had to deal with it, put it behind four a corner.
The ball played out to James and it was well done.
He took it down off the chest and played it in first time and then good defending by Allah Beto to put it behind.
But it is a corner and Mason MT out over this one as we approach the 20 minute mark.
It's about 30 seconds till we cross that milestone and Chelsea, with an opportunity from the corner here, mount toward the penalty spot towards Drew.
Not it down but didn't make enough contact on it and straight into the waiting arms of Manuel Neuer competing with Moeller there and it looked like boating was a little late to arrive.
Thio tryto win that header.
It was really his responsibility even though Mueller was just keeping your Ood from making that run.
But we have played 20 minutes as we take into the 21st than it is.
Chelsea mill buyer GnMill Longball, curled out into the path of Benjamin Parr, barred the French international score of one of the most ridiculous goals at at the Ah, the World Cup.
Absolutely stunning goal for France against Argentina, really a classic game in many ways the eventual world champions and Ah Alonso having to play this ball out into touch for Chelsea as they looked for Byron, Look for Komen down that right hand side.
Brevard takes the throw quickly and find Kim IQ deeper in the center of midfield rolled in the path of Gonna bury.
Tried to play a 12 with Levendosky, but Levendosky unable to hold the ball up.
But the flick out from shrewd.
A little too Ah, little too clever.
And, ah, they concede possession once again, back to Byron.
But Rudiger read that passed well from Brevard trying to find Koman.
And now rigor getting forward.
And again, another good reading of the game by Tiago this time Tiago finding good gnabry out on the left.
Tiago, one of the players that you watch and just so many times in off.
Not only is technical ability, but his ability to see the field see seems like he sees it in four dimensions.
Davis Davis, making a run down the left, looked for a ball into the feet of Levendosky.
Couldn't find him cut out, and then it's put back into the waiting.
Ah, the waiting feet of Tiago.
This time Alba Mueller want it, finds Savard.
Coleman came equipped across from deep headed away, initially by Rudiger, and it is into touch, and it's another Byron throw Byron trying to build a little bit more patiently.
It seems like they were trying to break very quickly initially.
And then this ball thrown in to the feet of Mueller and then come on, look for the flick.
But Caballero able to run out and catch that one, would have been some skill if Coleman was able to flick it over his own head and take it down.
Dennis Bergkamp, given away by Marcus Alonzo to coma Bard put the cross and headed away by Rudiger and Rudiger has been very important in stopping those crosses from reaching their destinations so far.
Early in this one as Ah Chemical plays ball in between Alabama and Davis, Davis eventually collects it.
Alibi now, obviously a little bit of UNF Amillia territory Playing at centerback will more familiar this year with the emergence of Davies as ah, as we spoke about pre match but as Ah, boating, unable Thio get your route off the ball.
And now Barkley, Barkley, cross to the far post and Mount just didn't make the run.
Mount was Mount had stopped his run at the far post, I think in Barclay put in Ah, good curling ball with left foot.
Mount had just stopped his run on the edge of the six yard box.
Shouldn't should he have continued it? He might have had.
It's happened at the far post, but you just the ladies run and the angle ah wasn't wasn't ableto reach that one.
Ah, for Bayern Georgino Byron.
Take it quickly as they were.
They were trying to play out, maybe under a little bit of pressure there from Chelsea Chelsea keeping their press on the edge of Byron's box.
Byron, though pretty calm so far in possession, is Neuer under pressure, a situation that he's quite familiar with as a coma and tried Thio get the flick on there but only found Chemical with the header backward.
And now Byron going back to Neuer once again.
Now Neuer plays it out for Davis good touch and plays a 12 with Canaveral E.
Davis now finds Mueller back to gonna bury never going forward down the left drills and crossing low but blocked at the first opportunity by Christiansen.
And it just barely goes out for a throw for buying rather than a corner of done by the flag throw goes from gonna bury to Davies quickly and back into defense for Bayern boat saying Halibut striding forward.
67% of the ball sitting with Byron as it stands. Babies.
Kim IQ Davis winning it back.
Well done by Davies played through and will Levendosky get there? No, he won't and Caballero out to snatch it off his foot.
Really well done.
Thereby Davies to win this ball back in.
The tackle was initially won by Christiansen, and Levendosky was on side.
A little bit of unselfish play there from gonna bury it might have been able to take it under control and shoot.
Caballero just stretched out in front of Levendosky and wasn't able to.
Levendosky wasn't able to fashion a shot out of it, but again, good, intricate play by Byron on the edge of Chelsea's area, and it's seems like it's only a matter of time.
But will it be enough? Time rolled through Brevard looking for Kommen.
Kommen holds it up.
He's under pressure from Marcus Alonso and then Rudiger and Rudiger concedes another throw.
Brevard tried to find Moeller on the edge of the 18 Chelsea, get it clear, but only as far as Thiago.
And then it's played off of Brevard and it's out for a Chelsea throw now tells you.
Take the throw quickly, but it's one backed by Byron higher up the field, molars striding into the centre.
Levendosky and Caballero with another save with the legs this time and it's behind for a corner kick.
It was Byron winning the ball from the corner.
Mueller played out good reverse ball through for Levendosky and you expect him to be able to lift this over.
And he just didn't quite get the contact he wanted.
He tried to toe poke it.
If he just gets a little bit under this, he almost got it through.
Copy, euros, legs, All things considered, but a little bit of lift on that.
And he would have He would have poked it right over Caballero.
And now copy Euro actually down, receiving some treatment.
A little bit of an interesting situation for Frank Lampard, given the fact that he has obviously a world record goalkeeper signing, um, kept on the bench.
Euro back on his feet.
Don't think. Don't.
But it is a corner straightaway.
Caballero, back on his feet has something to defend again.
After making a good safe from Levendosky corner comes in.
Levendosky was interested eventually cleared away.
Bye, Chelsea into touch for another throw.
But speaking about the throw in, It's been interesting how Ah Liverpool hired a throw in coach and there was a lot of kind of consternation by old older pundits and and talking head pipes.
Ooh, didn't see the need for it as this throwing might produce something.
Oh, wow, Moeller just wide.
And it was nearly a vintage Thomas Mueller goal.
It came from the throw as I was speaking about throwing coaches and he hit a curling effort as he strode in to the center of midfield.
What an opportunity There.
There wasn't really anything in it, and Thomas Muller nearly curls one in from distance for buying.
That would have been an absolute stunner, but in the end, it curled just wide.
Caught me right in the middle of talking about throwing coaches, and we nearly had an assist from a throw.
But the throwing coach, not just helping with that is now Byron might have another opportunity on the attack.
Levendosky went past Alonso, but Caballero able to get to it again.
Copier throws it out to Kovacevic, Kovacevic press by a combination of Koman and Savard.
Now long ball forward from Chelsea, one in the air by Bullet Tang and Nazi.
Ah, go away, Thiago to Mueller.
Mueller plays it back to Davies and then Kim. IQ.
We've played half a.
Knauer and Byron are just just seem to be growing more and more into this one is actually we have a goal in the other knockout game being played right now.
Nah, pally have opened the scoring at home against Barcelona.
So another another fascinating ty to keep your eye on Napoli.
Obviously a little bit of turmoil this season is this ball forward to more blocked away at the first? Ah, first time of asking you now Handball goes against Bayern Munich mount trying to flip it around.
Kim IQ Chemical Uh I don't know.
The commentators are saying that it was deliberate, but it didn't look deliberate to me.
So no booking for Chemical and I'd say rightfully so is that long ball searching for Barkley will go behind for a buyer in goal kick Greece Mertens the score of the goal in the other game.
But Napoli obviously had some handsome turmoil earlier this season, but they're champions.
The campaign has been pretty good longball over the top this time from Byron looking for gonna breed and every not able to get there.
But it goes out for a Byron throw.
It is Ah, but Barcelona obviously having some issues of their own, Um, with injuries and and the like, so fascinating Ty And I mean Barcelona obviously going out at the semi final stage last season.
It would be some story for them to go out in the round of 16.
But another long ball from Bayern knocked down by Levendosky gonna bury couldn't bring it under control.
Muller finds Komen Koman trying to get to the byline past Alonso, Koman still competing and go kick given in the end.
Alonzo, just able to keep up with Come on there.
It's interesting, I thought initially, maybe Alonso might have played this over the line, but it eventually can't.
It did come off a comb on, and it it was well done by Alonzo in the end, too.
Keep that from becoming another dangerous situation.
Long ball from Caballero, again looking for the head of Drew, doesn't find it this time, but The clearance from Byron only finds Alonzo Alonso across the Georginio into the feet of Barclay and Barkley handled, and that will be a free kick.
Yeah, just he carries it through with his arm.
Not intentional, but attacking.
It's always gonna always likely to be given when the arm helps you control.
And certainly if they had scored it in the ah in that subsequent move and it would have been disallowed but poor ball out from Noyer **** ball into the centre Mason Mount.
Competing for that when he went down quite easily under the pressure from prove our but Chelsea still in possession Kovach.
It's on the edge of the area. Mouth.
It flashed across the face of goal for Chelsea.
Joe Rude was arriving and trying to slide in and and play it in office studs.
It was a poor ball out from Noyer, and then Georgina put a ball into the box mount with a little bit of a dive.
But coaches played a good ball in and Mount just tried to put it into an area across the face of goal in the six yard box did so well but no one on the end of it.
Now, Byron back the other way.
Was there a handball there? Canaveral puts across inflict on off the bar by Buller.
Well, Byron hit the woodwork and they're getting closer and closer.
It was a strange technique by Moeller.
We know that he's unpredictable, flicked around the corner from Mueller to find an Aborigine Avary able to control the ball and then put a good crossing.
And Mueller just takes it off the back of his head or the side of his head, and it just flow.
It floated over Caballero and it just struck, struck the crossbar flush and went straight back out.
What a what a move that was from Byron.
And what an opportunity they keep getting closer and closer toe.
Finding that openers, we've played 35. Now Kovach.
It's trying to play a long ball through chested down by Barkley into the path of Georgino tempo, picking up in this one as we head towards halftime.
Virginia Oh Covic! Itch.
Kovacevic finds Barkley back to Reese.
James Reese James.
Not as involved in the recent ah recent stages of this game is Ah, Chelsea being pressed out of this one good tackle in midfield from Thiago to win the ball back and then Byron with some nice little passing patterns in midfield, take a look.
Just a one shot on target for Chelsea, three for Byron.
And that doesn't even count the one that just struck the bar from Mueller.
So dangerous opportunities mounting up for Byron.
They just You have to think that they need to take one of these opportunities, especially in 1/2 where they've been so dominant.
A long ball out eventually comes back.
Byron's way and now just slowing things down slightly slipped from Noyer as he struck that one, but it finds its target anyways.
Davies, Davis taken ABRI Kim IQ gim**** back to get ABRI in every running infield he's found Kim IQ Kim IQ to Komen couldn't bring it under control and eventually cleared away by Chelsea.
And do they have a chance on the counter Now Mount.
He's got Alonso ahead of them.
Lays it off to him.
Alonso went for the return but well blocked by POV art and it will be a Chelsea throw Christiansen as Chelsea tried to get on the edge of the area and Noyer going back to Alba Kim IQ before to comb on one by Alonzo and then Mount fouled by POV art.
Or so says the referee.
Chelsea, asking for a booking there is that was running away at a bit of a strange one.
No, he actually tripped over his own foot, I think.
Then it was He's kicked the back of his own leg, but a free kick here for Chelsea in a pretty dangerous area.
Reese, James and Mason mount over this one.
Fire music playing a hi line right on the edge of the D A.
The top of the area ball curled in and dangerous area.
But no one occupying it for Chelsea.
Bayern getting forward again down the left hand side, Davis leaving it for Alabama and now Tiago across the bulletin.
Both hang out wide for POV.
ARD provided to Komen.
Come on back to Kim IQ and then across the Tiago and fired just circulating the ball now trying to find those openings and create those openings as it's played into the feet of Levendosky.
Now on the edge of the area.
Levendosky trying to go past James left what it cross was it deflected? He says it was deflected off of James.
They've given a goal kick and the referee giving the goal kick.
Levendosky incensed that they haven't received a corner but Chelsea trying to play it out from the back copy hero out to Rudiger.
Rudiger going long down the left hand side only finds the head of drum boat sank.
But now Chelsea, back in possession for just a bit, is both thing.
Winning it back again.
Molars header Though unable to find another buyer NW player in Chelsea back into possession after a little bit of head tennis in midfield just about five minutes remaining in this first half.
Still 00 Byron have had the better chances, but still a couple of flashes for Chelsea in this one.
Boating lays it off to prove ARD back Taliban Byron again.
Not not playing the overly risky right now as ah, long ball from Neuer to Davies flicks it on.
Levandusky was trying to run onto it, put into touch for a Byron throw.
Now Bayern, trying the right hand side with Savard.
Kinnick, striding forward, finds Davies with a ball of the top on the left hand side, Davis to the feet of Gun Avary taking a slightly more central positions in the last 10 or 15 for Byron is gonna bury and now have art on the right, back to Tiago and back to provide.
And then Alonso giving a free kick away is he went right through Kingsley.
Comb on on that one.
It did look like he may have gotten a bit of the ball, but he also got plenty of the man.
No, actually gets anywhere near the ball.
Yeah, wets out co Maman.
So we have a free kick.
It is a dangerous area for a delivery from Kim.
It who obviously plied his trade is right back.
This is a cross from an area that Chelsea set up just inside their own box or not.
Quit not playing quite as high line as ah as Byron did.
But they're still trying to play that high line to try to get the offside.
Kim equipping this one in towards the far post, headed initially by Azpilicueta into the air and caught by Caballero.
Good header in the end by Azpilicueta too.
When, that is, he ran back towards his own goal.
Not an easy technique certainly is now.
Alonzo, down the left hand side for Chelsea, cuts it back in.
Marcus Alonso, low saved by Noyer.
Well saved by the experience.
German Reese James puts across back in, deflected behind and it's a corner for Chelsea and that's where the danger lies right now for Byron.
Marcus Alonso, striding into the area, hit it low but Neuer saw it.
I think most of the way it came through maybe a couple of bodies.
But I think he saw what Alonso was going for.
Got down well too is left to say that corner comes in, headed initially by Alonzo but headed wife just a couple of minutes of remaining in regular time here at the end of the first half.
Bayern in control but Chelsea remaining dangerous.
Ah, in in moments long but allowed from bullet sang, flicked on initially by Koman but cut out by Chelsea and then it comes into the path of Tiago to play ball over the top four Gin ABRI on right.
Davis has made under lapping run can never.
He tried to go past Mason Mount, but it's come off mount and it's out for another buyer and throw.
Byron obviously created who? Nearly a wonder goal for Thomas Mueller from a throw.
So not the simplest of situations for Chelsea fans, but a giveaway here by Bullet Sangin Alonso looking for a long ball diagonal towards Haru.
But he took it off his chest and Tiago was able to get the second ball rather than mount, who was running in behind you.
Rudy may have may have actually left it for Mt.
Long ball forward.
Well, well defended by Azpilicueta and then Byron trying to win it back. Hiatt.
The field have done.
So Can Avary striding towards the byline and it's behind for a corner.
Byron winning a corner here as pill acquittal wanted a foul, but I don't think there's much in it in every doing well there to win it, hide the field.
And then Reese James just putting it behind for a corner.
In the end, just one minute added on.
But the corner already set corner comes in, punched away by Caballero.
Not the most convincing punch as Byron maintained possession and now floated in by Allah, but towards Moeller Cross dealt with in the end by Reese James and then a foul against Tiago and yellow card right at the end of the first half.
The first yellow card issued as I guess it's breaking up a counter attack.
Little unlucky there, Tiago.
He won the ball, unlucky to get the yellow.
Well, we were just about hit the minute and I think Chelsea content to Ah well, they'll play of all over the top and see if they can create one last opportunity here.
But Neuer's out to catch that one, and that will do it for the first half.
Chelsea and Byron still not separated Thomas Mueller with a couple of opportunities and created a couple of opportunities.
It has to be said, come on with a decent chance early on, but Mueller fashion the best chances.
He curled one around the post and then hit the bar on.
Luckily with a header, Levendosky ah saved a couple of times by Willy Caballero.
The unlikely starter for Chelsea is Kepa benched for this one.
But Byron and Chelsea still nodded at zero at the bridge and Byron will probably feel like they should have gotten a little bit more out of that half.
But as it stands.
Still an opportunity, obviously for, ah, for Bayern to grab that crucial away goal.
Um, and we will see what they have to offer here in the second half.
Um oh, thank you.
Ah, too silly Simon.
For the for the popcorn.
I hope you guys have enjoyed so far.
It's been ah, entertaining game, Certainly.
Um, it's been one where? Oh, no, we kind of We kind of expected this buyer much more of the form side than Chelsea right now.
Ah, suffering a little bit in the league.
Um, they are coming off a decent win against Tottenham.
Ah, but for the most part, it has been, ah, rough going for lamb parts men in the Premier League.
Byron, on the other hand, not defending the best in the league.
They've had a couple of nervy games out there, but they're winning and they're scoring a lot.
So I don't know if Chelsea can keep up um, holding Byron out for for another 45 but we'll certainly see if, ah, if they're able to keep that clean sheet and take that to the aliens.
It does give them a big advantage, but Bayern, a free scoring side of the moment and, ah, the only team that's held them scoreless since the the beginning of the second half of the Bundesliga season is RV Leipzig.
Eso interesting that Ah, you know, they haven't really been haven't really been held up to this point.
They do have options off the bench.
Cotino and Goretzka stand out as the attacking options tha list.
So could also come on, um, and offer a little bit more of a box to box option in place of maybe Kim IQ.
But it's been, Ah, it's been a good start for Bayern Chelsea offering, still offering some threat in a couple of situations but for the most part, struggling a little bit too.
Ah, assert themselves, and especially when they're trying to play through midfield, it's been very difficult for for the blues.
Um, couple of early giveaways threatened to actually put them behind right from the get go.
So it has been, Ah, a little hit or miss for Chelsea so far.
We'll see if they have any adjustments at halftime that ah, that changed the way things are going, um, in terms of performance is, um Thomas Mueller has has probably has put in an absolute shift already for Bayern.
He obviously hasn't played as much for, ah, for Byron and, uh, and the German national team over the last couple of seasons as he's kind of lost a step, getting a little bit ah, on in years.
But Mueller's been absolutely influential in this one, and he looked like he was going to add to his 44 Champions League goals.
For Byron looked like he was gonna grab a 45th a couple of times in that half, and he's certainly looked like he Ah, could Adam assist? Um, as he's played some some pretty decent one twos.
Ah, him and Levendosky linking up, linking up well, and he probably could have had a sister, too.
Um, early in these stages for Chelsea, Um, standouts.
Crazy as it sounds, Olivier Giroud was 33 years old, is still ah, just such an important player for them because of what he's able to offer, especially when you're trying to break.
Uhm, shrewd is that guy who can win that header.
Ah, and flick it on.
They obviously, since they're not having a load of of success, Um, playing the ball to the midfield.
The best option is often going over the top and trying to to win that header or hold the ball up.
And Olivier Giroud is offering them that, um and ah, there were a couple of question marks early between Kovacevic and Georgie.
No, they were not having the best half when the game started, but both of them seem to settle into the into the game and ah, coaches especially played a couple of good ah switches.
Barkley and Mount have been okay for Chelsea? Nothing.
Ah, nothing to write home about as of yet similarly for Gun Avary and Kingsley coma Um, both of those ah, both of those players will need to obviously offer more if Byron are likely to get the result here today.
Um, the ah, as we take a look at, um as we take a look at Greece Mertens goal as ah, a sudden commentary, um, not really opening the scoring so far for ah, but it's an interesting It's an interesting set up because similarly, we had about almost 70% of the ball going Byron's way.
Um, and 30% of the ball going.
Chelsea's similarly in Napoli tonight.
Barcelona was 70% of the ball, but yet to have a shot on target.
Not really the case for Bayern.
Um can't really be said that they're struggling because Bayern with most of the possession, but they've also created way more chances.
Then Chelsea just the one shot on target for Chelsea in that half.
Byron, on the other hand, having ah three, I believe, registered shots on target.
So yeah, just not quite.
Um not quite the ****ogous performance that some will likely 0.2.
Um, because of the possession numbers, but still being creative, it looks like, um So what else we got? Um yeah, it is.
Ah, Just a fascinating second half we've got We've got plenty.
Ah, plenty left to play for.
And indeed, obviously, with the second leg to go, nothing that happens today will be definitive.
Unless it is just an absolute shellacking, uh, in the second half for one team or the other.
But, ah, it is a opportunity here for Byron said to take you back to the ah Lien's.
But it's one that they squandered field so it will.
Ah, it will certainly be.
Um it will certainly be on Byron's mind that they'll want to avoid that.
Ah, knockout at these early stages.
Given the fact that they've gone to at least 1/4 final seven of the last eight years, that's quite the return and one that they'll be hoping to improve on, um, as ah, we enter the second half.
So as, um, as we get closer, Thio, um, to the second half, I'm just gonna take a quick break and I will be back for all the second half action.
Um, in just a couple of minutes, once things are about ready to get kicked off here in about five toe 5 to 10.
Um, still 00 as we said.
And it will be fascinating to see how the second half of Stamford Bridge plays out.
I hope you guys will stick around with me.
I will be back in just a couple of minutes.
Att, Some of the highlights.
It is a as we take a look at a few of the chances.
So you have three shots on target for Bayern one off the crossbar so it would have been four and then two shots on target for Ah, for Chelsea in the end, But, um that Alonzo Chance right there at the end, the second shot on target.
But the threat is there for both teams, both teams offering something in attack.
It is much more on the counter for Chelsea than it is for Byron Firing, obviously.
Ah, dominating the ball primarily and having a ah, a little bit better time in terms of creating chances more fluently or fluidly, Um, but Chelsea Chelsea with a couple of opportunities in the half.
And they will certainly want to take a goal to the ah Lien's.
Um, obviously that you know, the the home leg is supposed to be more of a opportunity.
Thio get to get a win.
Um, but taking at least ah, taking a couple of goals to the Elias is is always gonna be the ah, the goal.
Um, unless they try to replicate what Liverpool did last season, which was keep Byron scoreless, um, clean, she get a clean sheet at home and then get a couple of wiggles and put put him away.
That is kind of ah, one way toe to go about things, but a little bit of a risky situation.
I was pretty nervous at the end of that.
Ah, that first leg, despite the fact that we got the clean sheet, not having a goal at home is a little nerve racking.
Um, but meanwhile, today, we've actually got other other football going on, and ah, interestingly, um, there's quite a bit of championship football be employed and the scores They're all into the second half right now, but, um, it's such a such an interesting race.
Um, right now in the championship in English Championship is a look for promotion Nottingham Forest, who hadn't really been in the conversation.
That much is in third now, um, on 59 points or will be will be third if they can see out this win.
They currently lead Cardiff City in Cardiff.
Ah, via a Thiago Silva goal.
Um, and they'll be just three points behind Ah, three points behind nodding and forests.
Um, if if they can eke out this win or not, enforce will be three points behind leads.
Um, if they can see out this win, although leads will still have a game in hand Uh, and another game that impacts the promotion Rice Luton Town lead.
Brentford, who have been scoring goals for fun but have stumbled a little bit of late, are leading.
Lewton is leading Brentford two goals to nil right now.
And ah, as it stands, Brentford would would ah sit fifth Ah, trailing Fulham with a win, they would be level with Nottingham Forest on 59 points.
So just a fascinating race.
Ah, brewing in the championship in Leeds have just been falling apart as their fans saying in West Bram has seized Ah, seize that opportunity and they lead Preston North End right now, two nil and could go seven points clear.
Um, if that result holds but leads would still have a game in hand to bring it down to four.
But deft during larger in a seven point gap would certainly look quite formidable as lead to have stumbled here in ah late in the second after, you know, as we enter the late stages of the championship season and see who gets those automatic promotion spots, it is Yeah, we obviously watch the Champions League.
It's the biggest clubs in the world it's, you know, some of some of these teams, you know, it's the superstars.
It's its players that are household names.
But I love watching the English championship and paying attention to the English championship because it's it's a grueling season.
It's a huge lead.
And it's a, um, such a prize for them to chase as, ah, the team's air coming out of the tunnel now for the second half at Stamford Bridge.
Um, but yeah, teams air out, I would say, If you don't already just given English championship a shot, it's on ESPN Plus, which sports or or other soccer? So I would say, you know, on a Saturday here there if as long as it's not your team, that's playing your your ah, you know, primary team, escape a Premier Li day and and watch some watch them championship And you'll be, I think, surprised by the quality of the teams in the championship.
But you also, um, the games in the championship have so much potential to be wild because ah, there is just teams obviously playing for their promotion.
But other teams just struggling to try toe to make it to that level and Now we are underway in the Champions League.
Though Chelsea and buyer knotted at zero.
Still, at the beginning of the second half, it's all there to be played for a CZ.
We've played just 1/4 of this two legged tie where the aggregate score is.
That's the just the combined score of the two matches for those who are uninitiated in the, um, knockout styles of European football.
Christenson across to clear that ball out as they were looking.
Byron was looking for gonna bring down the left hand side and nearly found him.
Muller took the throw, but the Chelsea fans keep throwing the other ball back onto the field.
Now it's under control and Mueller will take the throw back into the past of Oliva.
Oh, it's going to get the link out again for anyone toe join in the second half that hasn't already seen the link as Ah Byron in possession.
Davis trying to find Moeller Moeller caught in possession, though by Kovacevic, but then gets his wires crossed with your route and alibis able to collect for Bayern Chelsea playing from front to back.
It was a long ball from Caballero but Mount unable to go past alibi This time it's out for throw for Chelsea hospital.
Equates of the veteran Spaniard over to ah, take the throw in.
Gotta start in football with Osasuna in Spain and since obviously has made quite a name for himself at Chelsea and now give away from give away from Chelsea as Ah, Bullet sang for Byron will go over the top.
But the head or one by Rudiger again rigor has has been a imposing presence in defense for Chelsea so far today.
Winning a lot in the air is this ball over the top for Mount Mounts on side Mount tracked by Davies.
Mount gets the shot away.
It might come Ross Barkley And what a save by Manuel Neuer.
I think the flag would have gone up eventually and the flag did go up.
I think Mount Mount looked offside in the initial stage but had to act as if he was on.
I think he's just off the linesman.
And it wasn't until he got the shot away well done by Davies again in the Neuer at the second opportunity, firing escaped there, ball forward from Bayern Moeller provided, and it was Kovacevic who won the ball and now a foul given Georginio wanting, Ah, yellow card for Kim.
IQ gets it, but Georgina gets a yellow card himself.
Kim iXL it in and kind of away from the ball.
Honestly, Georginio getting the booking and, well, actually miss the next match due to ac***ulation.
Poor from Georgian, you know they're going to get a booking in those situations.
You you know, it's possible in in games like this for someone to take one for the team.
But the fact that Virginia will miss the trip to the aliens do too.
Dissent is just a poor just pour from a from a experienced player.
Tiago able to bring this down ball down for Byron and gonna be running infielders.
Azpilicueta slipped its Levendosky, cuts it back, and it's a tap it for search.
Can Avary Moller and gonna bury were in there? I don't know who got the last touch.
I think it was gonna bury.
But sir Jigen Avary and Robert Levendosky linking up so well to give Byron the lead in London, Levendosky looked set for the shot.
It was it was the initial takedown from Tiago than a chest down from Cantabria.
Good slid ball through and then Levendosky baited everybody, thinking he was going to take on the left footed shot.
Instead, he cuts it back and gain Avary with low finish.
Simple as you like well done from Mueller in the end to get out of the way.
But can Avary? He has his stir celebration, but he's absolutely cooking every time he visits London, his fifth goal in the city of London in the Champions League this season, he put four past Spurs and adds 1/5 here in Chelsea.
Reese James of the Cross into the box.
Chelsea tryingto get back on the front foot and get back into this game.
Kovacevic, winning it back in midfield, nearly gives it away, Christiansen having to deal with that and then headed out into touch by Antonio Rudiger.
Serge Gnabry, the former Our ****nal man scoring in London in the Champions League.
A lot of ****nal fans thought that could have been in gunner Red and in studies wearing de Wroten as Kingsley Koman getting a yellow card in there and I'm not sure why is now Byron with their tails up a little bit.
Levendosky tried to flick it on the corner and then stayed with it, won it back, and now bullets and going along over the top.
Brevard was in the area, but it's out for the Chelsea throw.
Yeah, I'm not sure what Coleman's been booked for.
It must have been in the celebrations.
Thiago's initial touch was so good the ball into gonna be what a what a way to chest it down and then the slid ball through Levendosky.
You'd expect him to be selfish in that situation, but to cut it back, knowing that he could get someone into a better angle.
Stunning goal from Byron and the type of team goal that a lot of Byron fans have grown used to over the years.
But most of the time this season, you've seen Levendosky, his name on the end of it, this time gonna be grabbing it from Levendosky assists and now Bayern once again it threatening Levendosky back through.
Forget Maverick, and every again he's done it again.
He's unstoppable in London.
It's too nothing.
Byron grabbing now to a Wiggles, and they're threatening to run away with this.
Caballero could do nothing about this.
It was so quick. From back to front.
Neuer's ball out from the back, initially one in the air by Levendosky into the path of Canaveral Canaveral played it out wide for Levendosky and the first time pass just that touched her from Levendosky.
A second assist and a second goal for Serge Gnabry puts it right in the corner.
Nothing Caballero can do, he does react late.
He was probably, I think, he might have been waiting for the cutback in gin.
Avary slides into the corner where all the Byron Fan's air situated and Byron's in dreamland, two nil up away from home in the Champions League.
They will not let the mistakes of last season and leaving England with no goals and being punished at home.
They they are determined toe leave with a a boatload at this point.
Is Tiago getting forward? What a touch in midfield.
Playing with such confidence, it is won by Chelsea Chelsea trying to play out from the back now themselves.
Well, two away goals is it certainly doesn't end the tie by any stretch, but it will take something very special.
Ischemic and Giorgio come together Georgino going down in a heap foul given no further action taken.
Worth remembering that Kim, **** and Georgian, You're both on Yellows, Chelsea getting forward down the left Mount and Barkley combining Mount cuts it back, but no one was there similar.
Move to what Levin Husky did, but no one to receive the past and now Bayern, once again trying to go out from the back.
Not a lot of support out on the left hand side, but he's taking on his pillow.
Quit, say, Certainly got the speed to do so, and he does beat them to the byline.
Levendosky, on the edge of the area, trying to turn lays it off for Thomas Mueller.
Chip back for 11 Husky, who couldn't quite sort his feet out to adjust his body to that one.
But what a would've move again from Byron.
And it's just the threat that they pose right now.
And now that they've got the confidence of the two goal lead, they ah, they will be dangerous on the counter as well as Chelsea look to get forward.
But as Chelsea search for gold, they certainly won't they'll feel any clean sheet now would be would be devastating.
They have to get at least a gold back.
But a stumble there in midfield gives Comb on the ball for Byron Gnabry.
Gonna Briana hat trick with still 35 to play.
Well, as I said, ****nal fans would if you told them a few years ago his ball over the top for Komen.
He's got Levendosky and the centre.
Can he find him? Levendosky went for the Scorpion because the cross was behind him and couldn't pull it off.
Well, that would have been something if Levendosky would have pulled that off with Olivier Giroud Score of one of the most famous scorpion kicks on the field as Ah, Tiago thought gonna Bree was gonna make a run and he never did.
But as I was saying ****nal fans a few years ago, if you told him he'd be scoring in the Champions League for in London, they'd probably bite your hand off for that.
Unfortunately, Canaveral e making an impact at Byron in the other game in the group are not in the group.
My God, we're into the knockouts.
But in the other game going on Barcelona have grabbed in a legal still waiting on the goal scorer as Cantabria thought was fouled.
I guess it advantage played by the referee is buyer now still in possession.
Cross came in from Brevard and it's blocked by Marcus Alonso and out for a Byron throw.
Antoine Griezmann scoring in Naples.
Well, what a 10 minutes.
It's been from Byron as Mueller, trying to get on the end of the freaking gnabry on the penalty spot, volleyed over.
Well, if it's anywhere on target, it's a challenge for it's a challenge for Caballero to save the throw into into Moeller.
Moeller did well to keep it in and if can have re keeps it down.
It's almost nailed down for a hat trick, but it comes off his ankle rather than his instep and the ankle.
Getting it on the ankle sends it over Chelsea Frank Lampard.
Hitting the panic button now and it looks like to change is being ready for the Blues as Caballero chips it over the head of Azpilicueta and out for a Byron throw.
Just looking rattled right now, after that quick double salvo from the German champions and five times winners of this competition, ball flicked on.
It was from Neuer, one by Mueller, Levendosky and Neuer linking up again Levendosky.
Now, with it out to gonna bury the combination that's produced the two goals Levendosky Assisting in Avary and now Byron content to keep it content to play it around.
They know they'll have chances as now Al Abo strategy and, ah, the two changes being ready for Chelsea are William and Tammy Abraham.
Not sure who will come off in that situation? Is Tiago playing a ball down the line for Coleman? But again, Tiago, As I said, See ya go seeing sees the game in four dimensions, it feels like and the first change is just gonna be Tammy Abraham for ah Olivier Giroud.
So like for like, interesting change, given the fact that I don't think you're rude was playing poorly.
But Sami Abraham on had a good start to the season.
A little bit of an issue with injuries, and now it is.
William will come in Ross Barkley, so a little bit more of a traditional attacking midfielder winger type in William rather than Ah Ross Barkley, who was kind of that late breaking midfield there forward and Willian William pressing maybe maybe playing up top with Abraham rather than Ah and now a long ball out from Neuer.
But yeah, it does look like does look like Chelsea have gone to a back four and then Ah, really, it's I mean, it's I don't know.
It's 4442 as Ah, Byron playing it around Chelsea right now.
Long ball in behind.
This might find the run of Gnabry.
It does Infield for Alonso.
Davis comes out.
Mueller puts across in Might Comfort gonna break and gain.
Avary cuts it back to his left foot and deflected behind for a corner.
Can Avary corner for Byron Kim? IQ into the center might fall for Tiago.
Was there a handball in there? Big shouts from Bayern as they thought there was a handball is Tiago struck it.
The second ball or the first ball was not it.
Down it right into the path of Tiago.
He tried to kind of scoop the ball towards goal, and as it did, it was blocked by a Chelsea body in front.
But was it a body or a hand? The appeals were loud and immediate from the Byron players We'll see it via our has anything to say about it.
We saw Aaaah! Handball penalty given in the Premier League over the weekend.
Manchester City against Leicester City.
Manchester City winning a penalty due to a dentist. Pratt.
Um, that was not given by the referee, but given by v a r.
So we'll see if the V a R has anything to say about his.
But Byron are back in possession and still no check going on.
But Byron, continuing to attack and the Commons pulled up a little bit, may just have pulled his hamstring.
It could be question marks here for Byron.
Was their handle initially by Rudiger and then poof.
I think it's a handball.
I think it's a handball.
A little bit of ah, little bit of gamesmanship hereby, Koman, as he, uh was off the field and then wandered back onto the field and then went down injured.
But Coleman just coming back from injury.
And now he'll get treatment and Cotino being readied as the replacement changes the shape a bit.
You almost wouldn't be surprised to see.
Can abri take up Ah, take of Ah place on the right, Um, and continue move over to the left.
But Cotino famously scored.
You're in cloths.
First Premier League win, which was against Chelsea at Stanford Bridge.
Ah, and actually the game, If I'm if I'm not mistaken.
That brought Josie Marino's tenure at Chelsea to an abrupt end.
His second tenure, I should say, is now Koman walking off under his own power.
But I do believe he has been substituted and Felipe Casino coming on.
Cotino, obviously going through, has gone through a couple of rough patches in his career.
As we do see, Canaveral moved up to the right hand side. Cotino.
Playing in that in that left hand attacking midfield spot is that he was so effective in for Liverpool for so many years.
But in the midfield, Kinnick taken out by mount but fairly mount, winning the ball and then William getting forward now for Chelsea.
Alonso rolls it through mount twisting and turning on the edge of Byron's box.
William tried to play the ball through it was deflected behind, but Savard slid in and kept it from going out for a, uh for Chelsea corner.
It's just a throw, both thrown out into the path of Ah Kovacevic.
And now it's played by Georgina across to James Azpilicueta puts a cross into the box from deep.
And then, ah, Mueller eases Georginio into the ballroom.
Rudiger putting a crossing towards Abraham.
And then Abraham adjudged offside.
And, ah, free kick goes Byron's way.
Yeah, and he was off as well.
Noyer out to the wing.
Brevard chips it through.
Forget Gnabry found his new home out there on the right.
Now a long ball played over the top.
Molars made a good run down the right hand side.
Mueller, with options in the box, cuts it back around the challenge of Rudiger chipped into the centre.
Cotino tries the acrobatic and then it eventually goes, trickles wide of the post and played off Mueller by rigor.
Casino had to go for the acrobatic just due to the position of the cross.
It was really going for Ah, for Levendosky, I believe.
But it was over hit, just a touch and ah, in the end, Cotino not able to pull off the spectacular.
It's really unbelievable, though.
Serge Gnabry, you know, cast off at ****nal, he toiled, Um for a couple of years.
He went very er very to Bremen.
Played it Hoffenheim on loan from Bayern.
Winterburn went off and I'm went, went to Bayern and then Ah and now he's become a mainstay in Byron's team.
And what a season he's having as well as poor giveaway there from Chemical telegraphed all the way to mount.
But poor poor effort from Mount blazed over the bar.
He wasn't ever going to pass this ball, but he should have.
Um, Tammy Abraham was in acres of space through the center and he thought if he took it earlier, he could catch a Neuer but just completely sliced across the ball and pour their poor from Chemical the initial give away.
Which is quite ah, quick out of character for the young German defensive midfielder from the town of Rock Pile home of the dog, I believe, um, just the just the one Champions League Golden KMEX names so far, but one of two Stuttgart products that are plying their trade in Byron colors right now with ah provided the other who kind of got his professional start at Stuttgart Kim it coming through the youth ranks at Stuttgart Caballero, chipping the ball out wide for Reese James for Chelsea.
Bayern, maintaining the pressure high at the field with Longbow, eventually goes to Abraham, who's able to chest it down.
He's looking for William.
Can't find him, but it stays in Chelsea's grasp and eventually works its way back to Rudiger.
You can see there the five shots in the second half for Bayern, taking them to a total of 11.
Just one shot in the second half for help dance that they just had, which he blazed well, wide reached James forward for Willy, and William cuts it back off of both saying, and it's a Chelsea corner.
We've played 70 20 left in regular time.
Still plenty and happen, obviously, in 20 minutes.
Enough enough has happened in the second half for us to know that for certain um, Willie and chip in the corner to the four post one in the air initially bye Gin Avary away from Christiansen.
But Chelsea maintaining possession once again reached James chipping this one up towards Marcus Alonso.
But Alfonso Davies is gonna watch this one.
Well, he's gonna collect it before it goes out for a throw.
Then ships it forward, but Giorgio able to collect it.
Bayern sitting back a little bit, just, ah, taking a little bit of arrest.
It seems like, um, a little bit more pressure coming their way from Chelsea, But it hasn't told in terms of ah shots or indeed that a shot on target yet in the second half.
So, so far, so good for the seemingly perennial chairman champions is strong challenge there from Ah Tiago, who's on? He's on a booking, so he's got to be a little bit careful.
But he won the ball and ah, and now both sang plays it out wide.
Kinnick back to boating Bayern exhibiting the patients and ability to hold the ball and tryto strangle the game a bit.
As Cotino and Davies play a really good 12 down the left hand side, Davey's going around Christiansen tracked by James, but Dave is able to get the cross in, but unfortunately just mis hit it behind for a Chelsea goal kick in this nice little flick from Cotino set Davies free, and then, as soon as Christians they came in, he just knocked it around them.
Simple, simple as you like didn't quite get didn't quite get the contact on it.
But now Pedro comes on for Azpilicueta and I think we'll see now the true ah change of shape here as ah, it'll be Marcus Alonso, Rudiger Christiansen and Ah Reese.
Jane's in those in those back four positions.
Is Muller trying to turn in midfield, but ball one by Giorgio and Kovacevic able to come away with it.
Tammy Abraham out for the substitute.
He's just come on, welcomes into the middle, blocked away and Chelsea able to maintain possession, though crowd just trying to get a little bit more of a reaction out of Chelsea, It seems, as William runs at Davey's, puts a good crossing toward the back post and no one arriving for Chelsea, Tammy, Abraham and Alonzo.
We're both in the area, drilled it into a good area in between the back four in the keeper, Tammy Abraham, with the applause.
But no one was able to reach it.
And buyer, now back in possession in every time they have the ball.
Now it it does seem like the goal is to just strangle the game a bit.
Take a CZ much time off the clock is possible, but can average certainly hungry for more and every unable to escape rigor on that occasion, and Chelsea back into possession once again, William infield, Well read, Buy POV ard and then back to Neuer.
Neuer goes long, not it down, but Cuttino winning the ball and then playing it back to Alba.
And again, Byron just trying to recycle possession here.
Well, certainly 1/3 goal would kill the time or less is continue.
Tried toe go around.
But Davies winning the ball, and now Davies and acres of space.
He's left bodies behind him.
And it's it's happened, Robert Levendosky, and it's three nil by Iron, and Alfonso Davies has built a move that has given Byron and nearly insurmountable lead in this tie 15 minutes from time.
It is a dominant performance from the Germans, the five times winners of this competition and on the quest for another.
Cotino tried toe go around a couple, and as Christiansen committed, Georginio committed and Davies left both of them in the in his wake Christians and dove in and wasn't anywhere near the ball played it across, and Levendosky is isn't gonna make any mistake when you give him an opportunity on a plate on a plate like that.
Stunning lamp hard, not impressed.
11th goal of this Champions League campaign, his 64th Champions League goal of his career.
Well, Byron have been haven't been ruthless, Um, because it would be This game would be well and truly over if they had been.
But the second half, they've just been so dangerous.
Every time they have the ball near goal, it looks like they are likely to score.
And so far, the second half.
They've been on riel 11 goals for Levendosky, and I'd say he won't score many easier than that.
But he will, because that's the type of the type of move that Byron are are capable of creating.
And in this case, it was Davies long switch out to the right for Byron looking for gonna breed, not it out.
Bye, Marcus Alonso.
But Maur and more of more and more of ah of Chelsea's place seems little feudal.
Not to be too defeatist for, ah for those Chelsea fans listening, but so much of their plane, especially since the circle has gone in.
There's a lot of dropped heads is continue.
Oh finds Levendosky on the edge of the area but closed down before he can fashion anything of note.
Chemical looks to switch it out to the right for gin Avary and Alonzo wins the header once again and gets past an average and is able to maintain possession for Chelsea now before word initially cut out.
Thank you, **** and then stretched and met by Alba.
And the Neuer plays it out to the feet of Davis Davies with an assist.
One that easy on the eye.
Reminiscent of Ah Young um young left back turned winger named Ah Gareth Bale.
But Chelsea winning the ball back has a chance here, Willie and shipped it into the center but cut out by Byron and Chelsea though maintaining possession.
Reese James in some space finds William James chips one in, headed away by boat, sank as pill Equate the challenge by Gun Avary.
Now Pedro into the area.
Pedro put the cross into a dangerous area and no one was there.
Yeah, Tammy Abraham should have should have gambled as that ball for through from Kovacevic only find a lawyer.
Bullets with right Brevard ships one through, not it into the path by Levendosky of ah, of Mueller, who drifted out to the right for the time being the term Ah, Rome Goiter, the, uh, niche and ah kind of hipster term for a player like Thomas Mueller.
Who? A space hunter or a room? Your room hunter, but but basically just finds finds the space exploits it when possible.
And that's how Mueller has been so effective over his career.
Failed to find, gonna breathe air with that pass and then get Gnabry fouling William Chelsea.
Take the free kick quickly as we've now played 80 full minutes.
Still 10 to go in regular timer will not, and 1/2 of this one is give away there.
Tiago reading the ball well again.
Actually not Make the referee put Chemical in a tough spot, though, and Kim IQ eventually able to come away with it.
But Tammy Abraham limp it off him.
And now Tammy Abraham's getting forward.
Are they gonna make Byron pay here? Challenge came in and boating stretched for it and hurt himself in the process, I believe Looks like Byron are gonna play on, though.
Well, it's heading down at the other end.
But Moeller on the ball now and now.
Ah, was that a hand in the face? It was an A yellow card for Mark.
Levendosky went down.
Not not known for Ah, not known for his.
Ah, not known for his play acting necessarily, but Marcus Alonso earning the yellow.
We'll see if there's anything in it Marcus Alonso not impressed with with Levendosky here.
Tammy Abraham stayed down at the other end as well came.
It just kind of got caught.
I think, both saying wins the ball here.
Yeah, it's a good tackle.
Honestly by boat sank here we take a look at it, the coming together between markets Alonso and Levendosky.
They used such a faraway angle that I can't tell if anything actually happened.
Such a strange for a stadium full of cameras.
They don't have one close up shot of Levendosky as he's coming to the monitor for something.
I don't know if he's reviewing the potential red card or if he's reviewing much or what he's reviewing and it's a red.
He reviewed the hand of the face and yeah, he's given a red card for ah lashed out.
Marcus Alonso on Robert Levendosky.
And just like that, Chelsea down to 10.
Things go bad to worse, and they'll miss Marcus Alonso and Giorgio.
Now, for he's just come across him for no real reason.
Yeah, just swings his right arm at him.
There's really no reason for it.
And it was a V a r sending off.
But, I mean, the referee went over, looked at the monitor and wasted no time you looked at, maybe to replace, before he came back and gave the red instead.
Often Chelsea's Chelsea's hopes of advancing in this tie our well, if they're not dead, they're they're on their deathbed and a free kick, just us of the area.
For Byron as well.
Could they? Could they make it go from bad to worse for Chelsea, who are down to 10 now taken by Alabama, and he's known for his left foot it free kicks.
That's not one to put in the ah in the vault, as quarantined Elissa is being readied on the sideline and he'll come on.
Looks like surgeon ABRI will not grab another London hat trick, but another London brace not too bad for the former ****nal man, six schools in the Champions League and all scored within the city limits of London.
It was a stunning 10 minutes from Byron as they snagged that two goal lead and two assists from Levendosky.
Two goals for for Gun Avary before Levendosky got on the scoresheet himself.
But what a performance from Byron so far, and they're about five minutes from making it a famous for many Byron fans.
This will be the banishment of the ghosts of 2012 the Ali on Serena Final as they take a three goal cushion back home barring a barring a late flurry here for Chelsea.
Alibi on the ball for Byron and again Byron.
Chelsea's Chelsea Crest has dropped deep into their half and Bayern, just Frito, kick the ball around in their own Athen under real no pressure, no real pressure to get for it.
If I could speak Levendosky though receiving the ball now and provide just about winning it back before Kim, it just about one it back and then Tiago with the foul.
Tiago also has to be a little bit careful on a on a yellow so ball for from Chelsea eventually won by Davies and then continue brings it down and then a nice ball through from Kim.
IQ finds Davis Davies on the edge of the area into the box, finds Levendosky couldn't bring it under control.
You'd expect his touch to be a little bit better than maybe fashion a shot.
Davis, 11 Doskey has already produced their third could have produced another one.
There would have taken some immaculate close control under pressure there.
But Chelsea have dropped deep and they're really, really, I don't know if they're just worried about conceding another.
They seem a little more focused on that than even grabbing a goal at this point.
Continue receiving the ball in midfield for Byron and finds Davis again.
It was continues past that set Davis free on his swash buckling run down.
That left hand side, which led to the Levendosky goal, is Davis took about five defenders out of the game, but now ah, heavy touch from Brevard gives Pedro some possession for Chelsea, lays it off to cover Kovacevic and eventually finds its way out to mount ball forward cut out by Byron but only into the path of ah Christiansen in central defense for Chelsea.
And now William out wide back to Reese James Georginio, long ball forward from Chelsea in behind Mason.
Mount in some space running at bullets.
Hang both saying doing just enough there and then Mount tried toe.
Create something from a narrow angle.
But week shot in the end and Neuer comfortable ball played back to Noyer for Byron and just two minutes remaining in this one in regular time, there will be some some substantial added time.
Just do tow Byron's goals, couple injuries.
The via our view.
So there will be, Ah, a little bit of stoppage time here.
I'm thinking maybe three, maybe three or four minutes added on.
So we've got probably about five left in in total before word Alibaba, who's gotten forward down the left hand side, out to Davies.
Well, buyer know that if they can grab a goal here laid on it, it will certainly just about do it with the purely from a Waigel's Chelsea.
Go to the ah Lien's needing three to send it to ah, two penalties and they can't concede a big ass given.
What Byron have gotten up to today is Byron wanna throw high up the field off of Pedro.
And now another change being ready to It looks like Goretzka coming on for Tiago.
Tiago on a yellow and, ah, getting a break.
Here is he has some handshakes with his friends on the field Coming coming off.
You can be proud about what he's done today.
It's Iago, a joy to watch in midfield.
I really do love tow.
Watch Tiago play.
Such a talented midfielder can really do so much in that midfield is the Metrodome and shares a hug there with Flick Byron's manager.
And it is actually a corner for Byron and another opportunity here.
Goretzka straight on, and it's blocked in front, Goretzka, nearly scoring from his first touch.
He was in acres of space, and nobody picked him up from Chelsea.
Should have probably generated a little bit more power.
He nodded it down.
It may have actually been blocked by his own player, right in front fire, nearly putting the icing on the cake, and Goretzka would have had very impactful five minute cameo here at the end.
But just four added minutes as we're across 90 and actually we've almost concluded that first of the four added minutes.
Ball out to Cotino, Byron.
But if they can snag another one, it's well, obviously, take it.
Goretzka out to the right hand son aside.
Fertile isso ball flicked on by Levendosky for Cotino.
Casino went for a trademark curler.
Didn't quite get it right as another look at the correct Goretzka chance.
And, yeah, it's actually Levendosky who blocks it.
I think the Byron fans, in full voice the rest of the stands emptying out ball forward only finds Neuer in Chelsea.
As I said a while ago, it was seeming more and more futile.
And it's just a lot of their effort is is now gone.
They're not really offering anything.
They're not really pressing anymore.
And the fight the fight has gone out of them, at least in this half of of the tie.
As I said, this is this is it.
Chances hinge on winning winning now, and there is no Europa League parachute as there is in the group stage.
The ball chip through Mueller in space puts it through for Goretzka.
Gretzky just stumbled as he tried to bring that down but blocked Mueller Levendosky maybe with a late chance just one minute remaining of the added time.
All out wide for Levendosky.
Cotino Tino A wide for Levendosky.
Levendosky tried, uh, cross it to Mueller and then, ah, Cotino puts one crossbar challenge but the foul had already been given.
Well, so much has to be said for Hans Dieter Flick.
He may have the interim tag, but he's got this buyer inside, playing the way that many thought Nico Kovats would get them playing when he was Dr Frankfurt.
But in the end, it flick is taken them from looking like they weren't getting anywhere near the Bundesliga title to now.
They're ah, there top and they are through, uh or mostly through to the quarterfinals halfway there.
Um, I don't want to speak too soon for those Byron fans listening.
Ah, but it is a great performance for Byron in London tonight, Serge Gnabry the scourge surged the scourge of London.
Um he is He has been such a difference maker in London this year in the Champions League for Bayern, four goals against Spurs.
He adds to that tonight with a brace, a quickfire braces Well, which pretty much put the tie more or less out of reach for Chelsea and, ah, it will be a tough second leg for Chelsea to go back.
Thio Bavarian Try toe, get a 33 Nothing or for nothing win in order to advance or at least force extra time.
But this is, Ah, a stunning result for Byron and a seemingly a quick return to normal service in the Champions League.
They've been to the quarterfinals seven of the last eight years, and it seems like they're destined for another trip if they can just pretty much be professional in the in the second half of the tie and in the ah Lien's, there will obviously be a little bit of narrative around.
Ah, that game at the aliens.
Ah, but there is a lot of quality in this buyer inside, and they they finally look the part.
Thomas Mueller with a great performance today, a vintage Thomas Mueller performance, I think, Um, but once again, gonna bury stepping up his game in the second half, finishing the two chances that he really had and then Alfonso Davies in this one.
Um, another just stunning performance by the Canadian Phanom.
And, uh, he finds a ah, an assist today to Robert Levendosky Levendosky grabbing his 11th goal in seven games in this Champions League campaign and his 64th Champions League goal of all time.
Um, it is, Yeah, it is dominant from Byron.
It is vintage Byron, um, where they weren't just in possession.
They were creating chances.
And it's what It's what we've gotten used to, um, from Byron over the years.
It's what we've we've gotten used to seeing in AA and in recent times, I think, taking a little bit for granted, um, from many across Europe.
But in this case, you cannot take for granted a three mil lead, going home and having the opportunity.
Thio just put the tide of bed with one goal, um, could more or less put it out of reach and that Ah, that about that will about do it.
I think for Chelsea's campaign they still have 90 minutes to save their European season, but they have a absolute Everest to climb when they get to the aliens.
They will not have any margin for error if they want to advance.
Um, but thank you guys for joining.
It has been a pleasure to watch.
That was a really fun game because both teams offered offered things an attack and Byron obviously just demonstrating their quality late in that one.
The second half from Byron just absolutely devastating, knowing no one can play with that.
Um, if if if they're hitting those those levels If Byron are, um, providing that level of attacking play, they are untouchable in those moments.
So, um, if they can produce anything approaching that at home, which the aliens obviously, um, a place where they love to play.
I really don't see Chelsea getting over this one, but anything can happen.
It is a two legged, a two legged European knockout competition and anything can happen.
Nothing is impossible.
But Byron here have built such a strong foundation for the advancement.
I hope you guys enjoyed it as well.
I I always always love doing these things.
They're a lot of fun for me.
I love doing the play by play, so hopefully you guys enjoyed it.
