Nick's family was popping.
Is your boy we just seen in New York? Knicks Get smashed by the Houston Rockets? No surprise there.
I think we all expected.
It's a matter of fact, to be honest with you.
I didn't expect them to stay as close as they did for as long as they did, you know? So, hey, what we gonna do? Few things we could talk about tonight.
Not a whole lot, but a few things we could talk about.
He was inserted into the starting lineup.
Dennis Smith Jr.
He got a chance to start his fighting allocate.
Has got a groin injury.
Elvin. Peyton is outs of dentistry of Junior's.
Gonna stretch to prove that he's worth his price and coins.
Right? We got Kenny.
What we news to talk about.
We'll get to that anyway.
Ladies generally got a lot of stuff to talk, but not a whole lot of stuff to talk about.
But some stuff to talk about.
The Knicks got thwarted by the Houston Rockets made.
Let's it's going to get this thing on the move.
I got my man, I say in the chat.
But before we get to that? We're gonna do our usual look at the game.
We're gonna break it down.
We'll talk about some numbers.
Good stuff shoutouts.
Everybody's here. Everybody's watching on SportsCastr.
All of that, man. Let's get busy.
Yes, Ladies and gentlemen, the New York Knicks were in Houston tonight to take on the Houston Rockets, and you had to believe that it wasn't gonna be a pretty game.
Ladies and gentlemen, we know what the Houston Rockets could do that playing an Ortho unorthodox style of game with this small ball.
I don't know how unorthodox it is, but given teams fits.
He gave the Knicks fits and you can see how this game could be really beneficial.
But I can also see how this game as Julius Randle takes it down the middle and dunks it home and rockets up 8 to 6.
I can also see how this small ball could hurt him in the playoffs.
But tell you what they spread the floor so much so much that it gives teams a lot of trouble the way that they spread the floor.
Ladies and gentlemen, you know as you see Robert Covington, not gotten that? Three.
The Rockets, up 16 to 11 is Julius Randle gets a fast break dunk. Stat went home.
The Rockets are up seven minutes left in the first quarter, 16 to 13 here and James Harden playing his game.
Julius Randle Wanna steps back.
Knocks one home.
Julie Julius Randle.
He played James Harden good a couple times on the perimeter, but overall.
Julius Randle Place.
Um, terrible defense tonight, as far as his role traces are concerned.
As you see, James Harden knocked down Dennis Smith Jr and they didn't call offensive foul Julius Randle with fade away.
Jump shot knocks that one home, 20 to 18 the next.
Trying to stay in it.
Then it's Smith Jr on the break.
Lays that when in Dennis Smith, Jr Maybe had, ah, one of his best games of the season.
You only got What is this? Like a stone start of the season, R.
Barrett knocks down the three R.
J. Barrett started off the first quarter hot.
Ladies, gentlemen, the Knicks, up 23 2 22 James Hard with Mitch Sarno passes it off.
And you see that guy? The vets Jeff Green showing they still got some spry legs on him. Dunks that one home.
J. Barrett comes back and lays that one in. The Knicks.
Tied the game at 27.
Played pretty well in the first quarter, but you knew it wasn't gonna last.
Is James Harden blows past R.
Barrett? No help on the back side.
We're going to see that happen a few times tonight.
He takes it coast to coast.
He scores are J.
Barrett Tonight, ladies and gentlemen had 21 points.
It was 8 to 17 from the field.
He had six rebounds, three assists.
Not a bad night.
He did have a number of turnovers in the second half to be expected from rookie.
Look, he had five turnovers on the night.
Jeff Green, with the ball guarded by Bobby Portis, steps back.
Bang knocks down to three Jeff Green on the night he had nine points and you see a look.
Jeff Green in his half.
He tried to put He tried to put one on Mitchell Robinson.
Ladies and gentlemen, it was almost a nasty one. It really was.
It was almost a nasty one.
As you see James Harden go to the basket with ease.
No help on the back side. Once again.
The Rockets are up by 10.
Then it's Smith Jr dancing on top of the key finds Bobby Portis, who spends back Nice jump.
Oh, Clay's that one in.
I'd like to see Bobby Porters do that more often.
Make some of those recon jump hooks that he always Mrs James Harden.
James Harden lays that one in 51 to 43.
The Rockets are up.
Bobby Portis in the post.
Julie's ran on the post one more time.
He knocks that one home.
Julius Randle had 17 points tonight.
He had 12 rebounds.
Hard kicks it out.
They swing the ball. Robert Covington.
He takes it down the lane and lays it in.
He's nice pickup for the Houston Rockets.
I like Robert Covington.
Always had James Harden kicks it back out, and then Gordon knocks that one.
I'm sorry. That was PC.
He got that one blocked by, um meets Robinson and Miss Robson comes back down and gets the alley.
You? That was a nice play bye meets Robinson is He got pumped.
Ms Robinson got caught on a fake.
And then he came back and he got the dunk.
Got the blocking. The dunk.
Nice move my mix.
It was so nice They showed it twice.
James Harden, with Dennis Smith Jr.
Gardening Sidesteps knocks down the three bumps.
Dennis Smith Jr.
The Rockets are up by nine points.
James Harden goes to the basket and lays that one in.
The guy's just You could do what he wants on the floor.
Get a point, Get a bucket.
Just about any time It seems hard it knocks down another one.
James Harden had 37 points to 99 assists.
He also had six rebounds.
Russell Westbrook sat out tonight, so James Harden had to do a little bit more over the last 16 games, ladies and gentlemen, Russell Westbrook's been averaging 33 points.
You probably seen it on the telecast, and James Harden again goes to the basket.
He's been averaging 22.
He did what he had to do.
The night, though was the leading scorer in the league, and we had to do again to the basket.
This time it catches Macklemore on AL You and the Knicks, down 73 to 57 top of the federal quarter as the game.
You know, we all knew it was going to get out of hand, but it starts to get out of hand and next trying to make a few runs, though I try to stay in it.
But the Houston Rockets, just to pulling the way to take it, spread out the floor.
Just got three point shooters.
Makes those lanes open.
Nothing you could do about it.
You see the ball movement.
Tucker floats that one in P. J.
Tucker Help. We only had two points on the night.
That's not what he's there for, though.
Julius Randle gets the border.
R J Barry, who takes the ball inside.
Nice Sidestep lays it in off the glass with the left hand, and he's left handed, so that is a strong hand.
Dennis Miller Jr to the Cup.
Nice. Move inside.
Lays it in and the next only doubt Sinus.
80 to 70 now 83 to 72.
But, of course, the Rockets James Harden go to the basket, R J bear of thousands.
What you gonna do, Julius Randle? That's the ball on the post this time is the actual spin move that works as he lays it off the glass with his left hand.
See, that's the spin move that is supposed to do.
He's got to understand what the defense is.
He does that spend, move.
When he doesn't spend, move in the middle of the lane is gonna be a turnover. Every time.
99 to 70 the Rockets are up in Mohawk was spin move of his own.
He lays that one off the glass.
More chocolates started tonight and Lou of Reggie Bullock as you see Mitchell Robinson get the pass and dunk that one home.
Mo Harkless started tonight.
He had seven points, one rebound, one assist place in decent defense.
Place of the decent defense.
Tonight the next.
Down by 17 by 13 Here, R.
Barrett goes to the basket, lays it in the next, trying to stick around and trying to fight it just not pulled enough on officer side of the ball.
Then, of course, you know they don't have a good enough defense to really close the court off.
As you see Rivers goes to the basket and lay that one, and Rivers had 14 points on the night contributions all over the floor from the Rockets.
As Russell Westbrook set out, Jeff Green goes to the basket and dunks went home.
What I was about to say R.
J Bear Dennis Man Julian knocks down the three Dennis Smith Jr Tonight, like I said, had maybe his most complete game as a New York Knick.
At least this season.
He had 15 points at seven steals.
Ladies and gentlemen, seven rebounds, five assists.
It was 5 to 12 from the field I saw was a decent outing from Dennis Smith Jr I'm not gonna say it's everything that I wanted to see if of Dennis Smith Jr.
But it's a decent outing, and I could deal with that.
I could deal with a decent outing.
As you see Austin Rivers Hey pulls back and he knocks one home again.
Austin Rivers had 14 points on the night.
The game starts to get sloppy, ladies and gentlemen, as the Rockets take a 20 point lead, the next tried to keep the closest long as they could, but it just wasn't to be won.
The Rockets really about to take and put this one Anna at a whack for the Knicks.
I mean, it didn't blow the Knicks out like, I mean, they blew him out, but they didn't, like, totally demolished.
But they handle him.
And if they wanted to totally demolish him, they probably could have totally demolished the Nixon Alonso trail.
He got a chance to get some burn Alonso Chili got in the game.
He had nine points.
He played six minutes.
He had nine points.
He was three for four from the field, two for two from the three point line.
We hope you Seymour off Alonso trail.
I hope to see more of Alonzo Tree.
Now, listen, you know you like So he does what he does.
He like to trouble like it's gonna do here.
Couple of double set himself up, but he pulls it back.
He knocks down a jump shot.
You could deal with it because you need the points.
We need to put points on the board. We can't score.
We need to put points on the board.
Kevin Knox finally knocks down on three.
Well, man, let me tell you heaven Knox has lost so much confidence in his game.
He's not what, sure, what he's doing out there on the floor, either offensively or defensively, as the Houston Rockets take care of the New York Knicks.
And, well, I don't think we expected any different ladies and gentlemen, so I'm not terribly disappointed.
I didn't expect that next to come out and pull off an upset or nothing like that.
But you know what? It is what it is.
What are you gonna do? Let me get over here to my man, Isaiah.
See, what I say is talking about up, actually, before I get to watch their let's look at some of the box scores and all that kind of stuff.
If you care to look at it, look at that real quick and then you know we'll move on the next.
Held a lead in this game.
Hey, they held a lead.
They had a three point lead at one point.
That's about it.
The Rockets had a 25 point lead, their biggest lead, the Knicks.
They outrebounded the Rockets.
They had to do that.
They did that at 54 rebounds.
The next only had 20 assists of Rockets, had 20 assists.
12 steals for the next 11 steals for the Rockets, eight blocks for the next seven blocks for the Rockets, 17 turnovers For the Knicks, you're not gonna have 17 turnovers.
Look, you're not gonna have 17 turnovers and expect to beat the Rockets seriously because the guys could get out.
They can run Vegas you.
It's not gonna happen.
44% from the field, it's 37.
That's actually not too bad.
That's better than their seasons average.
It's a matter of fact it's got a better percentage than the Rockets, But guess what? The Rockets shot 48 threes, so they made 16 of them.
The next only shot.
They made 11 70% from the feet.
Go live for the next 67.
7% for the feet.
The line for the Houston Rockets.
And you could see right there, man.
I mean, look, the Knicks.
It shot 91 times to the Rockets 86.
But more than half of the Rockets shots were from the three point line.
Okay, the rocket shot 86 times.
They shot 48 48 3.
It's a lot of three point is to shoot 48 off.
What you gonna do, man? It made 16 of them.
You know, I wasn't expecting to win the game anyway.
Let's take a look at the box scores.
We'll run through this real quick, and then we'll get on and get down with the get down.
And like I said, Mo Harkless, he had his first star as a New York Knick.
Ladies and gentlemen, Mo Harkless Tonight he had seven points.
Look is mostly a defender is what it is.
He had seven points, one rebound, one assists.
Julius Randle had 17 points and 12 rebounds, four turnovers, four turnovers for someone who's not even a point guard.
But he had four turnovers, five for 14 from the field.
Hey was sluggish on defense, Mr Lateral defensive rotations in my opinion types gifts and played 12 minutes.
He had six points, five rebounds.
Barrett played 33 minutes to 98 21 points, six rebounds, three assists.
He also had five turnovers.
I'm not mad at his turnovers, though.
And I said, We'll talk about it.
I'm not mad at his turnovers at all.
Then it Smith Julia had 15 points, seven steals.
He had three turnovers on the night, but it was a one point.
We had seven steals and only what turned over on the night.
He turned the ball over a couple times, you know later in the game.
Also had five assists.
Good game for Dennis Smith Jr Tonight.
Mitchell Robinson had 10 points, eight rebounds.
Reggie Book at three points.
Reggie Bullock was a negative 25 tonight.
Now, look, I really don't go by the plus minus that much.
You know, um, I don't doesn't mean that much to me, but it just kind of stands out that he had negative.
He was a negative 25.
The closest person to him was Dennis Smith Jr.
With negative 19 on the night.
Um, and it could be because he's I don't know.
You know, the lineups, Whatever it is, he was a negative 25 tonight.
He had 12 points.
They need Dotson.
They mean that's it.
Had nine points.
It skipped over Kevin Knox almost because it's like he's not there on the floor when he's out there.
He had three points tonight.
One rebound Alonso trailer again.
He had nine points before from the field.
Only played six minutes.
He had nine points.
Now let's take a look at Houston's numbers.
Ladies and gentlemen, Daniel House Jr.
He had 10 points, 55 rebounds for assists.
Barbara Couples had 11 points, seven rebounds.
He had two points.
That's not what he does.
He's dead to play defense and rebounding.
You have five rebounds.
Gordon had 16 points, James Harden had 27 points and nine assists.
Also had six turnovers.
Macklemore. He had 17 points.
Also, Rivers had 14 points.
Uh, Pablo Sefolosha got about that guy.
You know how many points played? 10 minutes, Carol Man, I didn't know that he had Ah, little transplant.
At some point, I heard commentators talking about her brain talking about it.
That's something he had seven points on the night.
That's the story.
Ladies and gentlemen, as a story, the game Do me a favor.
The new to the channel don't be like him, you would like and he subscribed.
Make sure you subscribe to the channel.

Ring that Notification Bell.
You'll be notified anytime I go live jump of video or post in my community section, ladies and gentlemen, so make sure you do that right now.
Take care of that for me.
Let me get over here into the chat.
She was going on with Isaiah.
You guys feeling like tonight? Talk about the game just a little bit.
They will get on and talk about some other things going on with the New York Next may be even in MBA, obviously.
You know, Kobe Bryant had his memorial today show.
We'll talk about that a little bit, but gets wise there.
See what I said.
I think I said it was going home, man.
Hey, what's going on? So we came in the back and he'll unclear.
Yeah, you know, first thing first in the lies he rest in peace from Kobe and Judy and the rest of the, you know, people have lost a lot of that day.
You know, that beautiful service.
A lot of people watched it, you know, just here.
Vanessa Bryant. Old tennis.
I cried a little bit because, I mean, I couldn't want I don't even want to imagine what she has to go through, you know? And you see, Michael Jordan, listen, ain't nothing wrong.
Nothing wrong with setting and tear it down again.
Oh, no, But I know that man.
Just me. I know that.
But you don't see Michael Jordan crime man.
You know, I think somebody put it, Put it best when people saw Michael Jordan crime and give her what it was like, OK, we can all cry.
You know, I'm saying it was just emotional, man.
Just, you know, I'm happy.
That label I know they've been even there the pro privates in memorial.
So, you know, it's good that, you know, we can start the healing process and, you know, just trying to move on, man and try to, you know, live for Kobe and Geechee and the rest of the people.
That's why I wanted to say, first of formal, you know, this rest in peace then, um, you know, a game tonight, so Oh, you know, I'll be honest with you, man.
I feel bad for my Miller Because I feel like he's gonna get five just the way he's doing things a little bit.
It's last for this even more.
Um, you know, one 2nd 1 second.
Once again, you said he's going to get fired because of the things he's doing me personally, I think he is.
Why are you doing now? Why is that? Well, just, you know, it's just some of these locations, man, and just, you know, you're not, but I just I understand people gotta argue.
No, I know you have your way of doing it, but I'm feeling a sense of man is that we have 26 games left, played a young guys.
It's just to the point where it's like, we're not gonna win without making the playoffs.
Clear the young guy so that we can get something going for.
Gets about hopeful for the next part of this season, man is like, Okay, so, uh, what young guys are you safe for him to play that he didn't play tonight? I mean, leave the place all morning.
Needs to play to win.
Well, first of all, Kenny Wu in Kenny Boy, Let's talk about anyone.
Kenny won't Can't play.
Will not be coming up to the Knicks.
He just had some surgery.
He's not gonna be coming up to the next this season.
Anyone is not gonna be plain but but again. Sentence.
Just just don't I don't know.
Maybe I don't know.
I don't see the development like I seen last year up to people like, you know, Where's Owen mentioned? I don't see this year like some, like art is is really just doing his thing.
That's why he's looking nice today.
He's doing the state.
You know, Randall, I'm just over to do.
I just can't I just don't like him.
He does not make it.
Not one person on this team. Better.
He's a turnover machine that he keeps.
If he spends into the paint into a double team since one more time, I'm gonna move my heart.
He's Julie by tomorrow.
But yes, And the news Julie has he is this he's done right now, like, you know, just just disappointed cause the meat to make our decision at least 32.
Honestly, he had 16 in the first quarter, so I was 21 points.
So that's just but whose fault is that? Who's far are you putting that on? I'm putting it on the players, and I recognized Sergeant Barrett talking a good game and put it on course. Miller.
We're not getting plays.
The have R J Open and getting better socks.
You know, It's just like I knew that was gonna happen to you.
But you do know agent come out.
But you do know that R.
Barrett was playing point guard a lot tonight.
He was actually running the point guard.
This still still waiting to get our good shots is good way the double double screens to get open.
Get him or Mitch matches.
I mean, he's 67 Rockets play small.
I mean, you know that R.
Barrett had the most shot attempts on the team tonight.
As a matter of fact, the last two games are J Bears had the most shot attempts.
I'm just saying something that I mean I'm saying is I want what I'm saying is this I want when people start to say things, including you, e.
I want people to make sure that they're looking at the entirety of the game and understanding stuff.
I mean, like, you're saying you know that he should, you know, he's gotta have you know, he should have this point to that point.
But neglecting to see that he played point guard a good portion of the night right, and that he's still even though he played point guard, still had the most shot attempts on the team.
I mean, you can't just blame that on the team, saying his coach Mike Miller's fall.
Is this in that four at the most shot attempts, he was 8% in C from the field, right? So that's 44% of something somewhere around there, right? I mean, what? I understand that, But again, what? What? I'll see what I see.
I think that that I see are you have 16 points in the first quarter.
I see that I understand that they have their own shot attempts and the team, but I'm saying with good shots with the best times, with the shots that you know they have ran the offense through any way, you can actually get good shots to make sure that no it's something like that that I'm saying no, but 60 points in the year ended with 16 in the first quarter.
Play good, Okay, No Rockets, you hold up, hold up.
I just like to keep things in perspective because just because so much scores 16 in the first quarter doesn't mean they're going to score 30 on the game.
James Harden scored 31 points in the first half.
Right, He scored six in the second half.
Doesn't mean he's gonna score 60 just because he scored that many in the first half.
That's the way basketball goals.
You know, that's just the way basketball gold sometimes is gonna be.
That is gonna be that way sometimes.
You know, saying, uM is gonna be that way and it's following Theo what Young players were.
You could have played a lot.
Sold career, right? Could have played Alonso Tree, but barring that, Dennis Smith Jr played 29 minutes, R.
Barrett played 33 minutes.
Mitchell Robinson played 25 minutes.
Theo, only young planet player Kevin Knocks shouldn't even be playing.
He should be down in a G league and then Alonzo Cheer played six minutes.
So you know about saying the young guys, What young guys do we have right now? Frank Millikin is not playing.
The only young guy that really didn't play is Alonso Tree.
Jamie Dotson played 17 minutes if you want.
If you want to consider the dots and a young guy, he played 17 minutes.
The team is just not good.
Yeah, but you know, he's just another boat.
Something about this year because really bothering me the most of that.
Can you tell me like what's like? Where's the development? Where is the like, Where's the brainless oaf like, you know? Okay, let's stick.
This year, we all know that, but what's the light team of this year? What's the Alka? The end of the season? We can say, You know what? We sucked, but you know what? The players got experienced players got better, develop well, got better course, and it's just like to me, this is just a complete mess of a season of just I could take the next being bad.
I could take that. I do.
I've been bad my whole life, but I would rather have a purpose of them being bad that just been bad and having no direction, you know, saying that's the point.
That's really frustrating this season with me.
They're like, You know, it's like would move.
We've been border lining, having these veteran players and these young players and then let you know Right now the young plans are trying to get some more time.
And in the old place, really, they're just really coasting into the season over there.
They're gonna go to a T.
It's just like I don't see the structure.
I don't see anything that's really positive for the Knicks.
That grass among the end of the season, that's like, Okay, at least next year we got these guys about these guys.
Got some time in, you know you got I don't see really that much different from Mitch from this interlock share.
So just you know, I don't he ever played Knox look completely like crap.
Well, I would say, you know, obviously Kevin Knocks and Dennis Smith Jr.
You know, they he's not a lot of not a lot of development from those guys, right? Um, as faras Mitch, I could have told you from the beginning of the season that Mitch might take a step backwards.
Listen, sop****res take a step backwards.
You know why they take a step backwards? A lot of times.
Not all the time.
Why? People have footage people have taken exactly tender. See? Exactly.
So you know, he's gotta learn how he's gotta learn how to get through that and then, you know, take the next step.
You're saying it sometimes takes this season, you know? I mean, it's just money, no tape on you.
But there's really no, This is really no sense in asking.
You know what the season is about Because you're starting your ending this season with a totally different regime with a totally different coach this season.
So I will say this about that even.
This is on the court on the court jester.
Still be a theme of the year.
That should still be a thing off.
You know what? They're changing, but least we got the young core in here.
That's good. Gin developed that lecture.
They can start to gradually get better.
And Bradley take over the race.
It's like, You know, I hate to say this because it's not, You know, it was not the next, but it's like I'm tired of seeing all these young these young teams like the Grizzlies, like the pelicans, all these other young team.
But the Kings, they actually have a little more game playing with us.
And they have been running the young guys they're developing in the Indus Situations or that want some of these intimate place to be and that they have a gold, Are they? Okay, So you see this going? Let's break it down for real.
Don't Let's break it down for room.
Right? You said the pelicans.
Pelicans have Zion.
Who else is young? You got E.
I know what you're talking about, guys.
That's been but still like when you say Brandon in groom, He's been in the league the same amount of time is Julius Randle, right? Bobby Portis.
He's been in league.
Same amount of this is those guys, Alonso ball.
He's been in the league this everybody years is Frank Miller Kina, right? I mean, so, like you're saying you know people, people say, See, this is that This is the dichotomy that is the Knicks fans.
This is the the double edged sword that is the Knicks fans.
You say, Brandon, you know they're playing with the young guys.
Brandon Ingram is a young guy, but then you'll call Bobby Porter's old guy.
But in England may be older than Bobby Portis.
I don't know, or there may be about the same age, right? And whatever you got, I said, Turn that down in the back for me, right? So you'll say that Brandon Ingram is a young guy.
But you say Bobby Portis, Oh, Julius Randle was of old vet and I'm not saying anything about play.
Brandon Ingram is twice twice to play that Bobby Portis and Julius Randle ways.
I'm not saying that what I'm saying is you just said the pelicans are playing their young guys and then you threw Brandon Ingram in and mix.
But then you'll complain and say that the Knicks are not playing their young guys and say that they're playing Bobby porters and he's not.
He's not one of the young guys, right? So that's like, that's the We gotta have a better perspective than that now.
If you want to say? I just want to see.
I just want to see R.
Kevin Knocks Dennis Smith Jr.
Blah, blah, blah Say that you don't say that right now.
Clearly, the Pelicans were better than the Knicks before last season season before that, they were better than it's a little bit better than Nick's, right? A little bit better. Next.
They had something going there, had to start and moved on from the start.
That guy's eye on Williamson, the Memphis Grizzlies.
Listen, they got somebody in job, Moran.
That may be transformational.
We don't even know if r J betters transformational yet.
It's just very hard to compare the next to some of these other teams a sw far as the young players are concerned, right? Because, you know, if we would have had John Moran, the way that we look could have been different If we would have been able to draft Trey Young the way that we look maybe would look different.
Who knows? You know, I'm saying what we gotta look at is what you know.
What is What is We just got a look at what? We gotta look at us I don't even care about these other teams.
We gotta look at us.
Right now, everything is gonna be in flux.
You're saying everything is gonna be in flux.
But what all I want you to do, though, because I keep hearing it so many times from somebody.
But I just want you to really look at it with perspective before you before you say anything.
Really? Look at the numbers before you say R. J.
Barrett needs to shoot more.
So because he had 16 points in the first in the first quarter, look and see how many shot attempts.
He really had it.
If somebody had more than him, right? Watch the game.
Make sure you're watching the game to see what position he was playing or what he was doing out there on the floor.
Things like that.
I don't want Don't just speak itjust to speaking like make sure you have the right perspective on that.
That's, you know, that's just that man.
I just want people to make sure that they had the right perspective over because, you know, we keep hearing the same thing.
You know about the young players, you know, that we look and really, you know, we talk about the young players, the only player that we really should be playing that's not playing his allowance hold true.
Everybody else is playing, not covering What a floater, who they play more? Maybe you're saying, you know, and as far as you know, Mike Miller and the coaching aspect, it's just gonna d says he's going to do what it could do.
And by this time, until this season is over, and then we'll see what happens from there.
Um, I'm gonna ask you this.
Yeah, And I got this from Ah, my guy from Instagram.
He asked me a question today.
He asked me if if I would take a chance on the markets Cousins because he's been waived by the Los Angeles Lakers so that they can sign, you know, uh, moves, brother.
Obviously the markets Cousins has a knee, you know, he has a torn a c. L.
Um there was some speculation that he could be back by the playoffs.
Obviously, the Los Angeles Lakers are not.
They don't believe that he'll be back by the playoffs.
Would you, Isaiah would you side the Marcus cousins for the remainder of this year and maybe give him a contract of veterans minimum for next year already.
Right, So that you have a four year China, let him rehab and then see if he can come back and be a nick.
What? You do that? What? For the Marcus Cousins.
This is tough for the momentum, you know? Yeah.
Would you sign up for the remainder of this year for the veterans minimum? Yeah. Yeah.
When it comes to that does No, you're not losing anything in lying you, Moe to see how he looks.
And you? I mean, it's time to say I feel bad for him, but he's not gonna demand that much.
Fighting a war turn now in his career soul.
You know what? I don't take a look at me.
Listen, we need you know what makes them We need more size in the Senso.
Better to be better rebounding.
And you know, when it gets like six rebounds and I mean Brandon's, everyone actually gets double digit rebounds.
So, you know, I think it's something I think we are, the markets.
He said some good screens, and you know you can play pick apart with him.
Now, I know for a fact he's not gonna play defense, but, you know, with him give you a rebound and give you a little toughness and get me some more points, So I don't know.
I see no problem doing that.
Okay? Now you say we need more rebounds.
Um, you know, we are one of the better rebounding teams in the league, though, um, you know, here would be my concerns about doing it with the markets. Cousins one.
When you look at the Houston Rockets tonight, nobody nobody told it in 67 or 68 played tonight, right? And, you know, they didn't You know that we outrebounded them, but they spread the floor so much on the offices side now, we couldn't.
There was barely anything we could do.
And now, you know, like I complained about Julius Randle not being plain, not playing the help side defense sometimes.
And it wasn't just in those other guys, too.
But realistically, they have so many shooters on the floor that you got to respect the shooter.
And then when someone penetrates into the lane you like.
Do I help or do I stay on my guy? Because if I help, he's kicking it out to a shooter, right? And these guys shoot a lot of threes and they can knock him down, Right? You have the markets, cousins, you're getting slower.
You're not getting faster.
You're getting slower, you know, saying, um and I don't know if he's that calibre anymore where you know he's like, he's he's dominant.
You mean, is it worth the chance? Maybe.
Maybe now there is a rumor out there or whatever you wanna call it that the Lakers and the Markets cousins have mutual interest in signing another contract this summer, so you know, he will see he may go right back to the Lakers.
But I'm pretty sure if I don't even know if his people would feel that the Knicks would be a good situation for him anyway.
Because then you know there may be some undue pressure, undeserved pressure that's on the markets, cousins to come back and perform when he probably won't be ready to do that.
You know me, and he probably needs to be in a place like the Los Angeles Lakers where he doesn't have that kind of pressure on him, you know? So, you know, I don't know.
I'm gonna come back to you, My, uh, Mark.
So, uh, I don't really I will come back.
See that he gets his phone call, Call your love another.
But next was Poppet.
Mark is gonna kill you for calling.
What's going on? I'm good, brother.
How do you feel that? Uh, pretty good man.
I mean, it was a rough game.
I know the final score looked decent, but, you know, that wasn't indicative of, you know, the game.
But, you know, there No, no, it wasn't indicative of the game at all.
Final score look decent just because, you know, garbage time.
But, uh, yeah, I mean, I was just disappointed from Randall, you know, because when you're starting the biggest guy 66 that's a game.
That should be, you know, 26 15 for Julius Randle, not a superstar.
But, you know, you got waiting that hide on those those.
I mean, I'm not I mean, coming to handle getting on Covington and P. J. Tucker.
Very good defenders, but he's still got more on them.
You know, you still got more hate a little guy, you know? I know you had, what, 16 and 12 But even as an impact was inefficient, Now you gotta give me more of a type.
Yeah, well, let me tell you this.
There's one thing that Danny D'Antoni did with this team.
Yeah, he put together guys that while they're small, it relative to the N b a right, whether small, willing to defend their tough.
Exactly. They're tough.
Well, yeah, no itself.
Even though they're small, they can rebound, They can block shots, you know.
So he's trying to do something that's a little bit.
They kind of small with the way today if they get if you're going to go small right the way that they put the guys together, you know, it's smart with the way that they put the guys together.
If you're gonna fall, you think that'll work, you know, in the long run down a playoff time for some of the top team, you know we're gonna do against the 80 if you meet them in the playoffs and you know me, I don't know, man.
I don't think it's gonna work in the playoffs.
I don't I don't think it's gonna work in the playoffs.
I'm gonna play all sorry.
You know, I mean, I know it's crazy.
You got, you know, PJ chocolate starting at center.
That's crazy, right? You know, I need some ma'am like, Yeah, go ahead.
I think in the playoffs, you know you especially if you get up there.
You're playing a team like, um, the Lakers, i e.
Even though those guys are big now, they didn't beat the Lakers with this small lineup, but it's Davis I m e.
I mean, they do.
I mean, how many more times better are they then? Um, Julius Randle emits Robinson down there.
You know what I'm saying? You know, in the playoffs, I just think it's going to be This size is going to be too much of a factor now. We'll see.
We'll see what they do.
They you know, they play quick.
The thing is, this, it's going to be this size is going to be a factor.
But then when you get to the offensive side of the ball like Howard team's gonna defend them.
That could be trouble.
Because now let's just take the Lakers, for example.
Now you're pulling Anthony Davis out the pain.
You're pulling development yacht the paint and they got a guard 67 guys out on the perimeter, right, And and you can't have those guys helped too much inside because the Rockets gotta kick it out.
And then, you know, they could knock it out from three.
So the lanes are gonna be should be wide open, so we'll see how it works.
I still think that the size may end up winning out.
Alright, right, May end up winning out, But we'll see.
We'll see what's up.
Yeah, you know, just you know, it's interesting.
I'm just playing like I mean, coming to him.
He could stretch the floor.
Tucker, you know, he shoots those corn and three's pretty well.
So I mean, I don't know what happened in the playoffs, but, you know, I just I mean this watch in some of our young players, it's just still disappointed.
Has been No, no improvement, Mrs Kind of the same.
Still, the silly flow's still no game offensive game side dung knocks me.
Now, Do you want to get started about Kevin Praying kind of game, that Smith.
I know you played well essentially tonight, but, I mean, you know, there's just no growth from any of our young kids.
Like, I don't know how it gets better because I don't see anything from, you know, I mean, I still didn't mention someone I want to grow with, for sure.
You know, I like, you know, I just left.
You would just let me take a 15 foot of man is not know, lose at this point.
I mean, you know, you don't wanna go thing with Mitch, man.
You know, I don't want people to know people talk about his development and this and that.
I don't want to get down on Mitch and his development and no Sabbath things because is in his second year in the NBA, he missed out on high school.
I mean, what do you expect you got? You know, you gotta just let Mitch go.
He'll be all right.
He'll be fun, like a turn by my like missile.
I mean, especially for a second round pitch.
Even if this is all he ever is.
It's more than we could've hoped for it.
That's my right, you know.
Right? Right, Mitchell, before you could trust that. Yeah.
Just what would you What would you feel about the Marcus Cousins, Man? What was that? I said, what would you feel about DeMarcus Cousins? Because he's been waiting by the Lakers.
He's been waived by the Lakers so that they consign markets.
What would you feel about signing him for the remainder of this season to let him recover and then see what he can contribute next year? Um, we've been so hurt, man.
That would be a passion me, man.
Even if it's just a veteran's minimum, huh? Even at just the veteran's minimum, I mean, yeah.
I mean, I would say it would be really cheap.
I mean, I would give it any I wouldn't mind it.
I mean, it's not something I would say.
All we have to do this, you know, it's like it's like, you know that the dark, you know, I'm gonna find it.
No, You know nothing.
I have a big problem with it.
You know, I mean, he's just so Warren Bauer.
I was since that that serious injury a couple years ago, a man like to say, and that guy was gonna get, like, 150 men that the contract Now he's just damaged there, See? In black? Well, you know, what do you do? What would you do with Kevin Knox? Man like, I don't want I'm not doing that.
Wants to give up on someone so young, but, you know, it's just hoping it's like his eyes were closed.
It's like taking candy from a baby.
They just discuss it stolen every time.
Well, I mean, there's no nothing.
You don't get up, sent him down to the D League.
You don't give up, you send him to the chili.
Yeah, but the D League and other center, But those people are like just scrapping down there.
So get those people want to get to them being so bad and not for a young kid.
He's probably the laziest kids that I've seen for.
A youngster like you just doesn't want it.
I hate to say it.
You can just see it in there, you know? I mean, you gotta want it like I mean, you know, like this pensively.
You can even have him on the floor.
You know, I feel you man every time.
I mean, he's not going to the basket with any kind of confidence.
It goes hard, but he's not sure what to do when he has the ball in there.
He doesn't protect the ball well, there's no spin that just drive, and he doesn't know what he's going.
I mean, I mean, you know, as far as like, a spin or anything like that, You know, you got to develop that.
You need time to develop those things, But he doesn't go to the basket.
Protecting the ball has got the ball out in the air.
Uh, your needs to go into the D League and work for the remainder of the season.
I don't think they're gonna but take him with the top 10 pick man like that just killed your franchise.
You know what I mean? Like, you can't minutes on these type of picks, You know what I mean? I'm not saying the story's done, but, um, you know, it's it's not looking good, man.
My God, be, I'll be shocked you know, at this rate, any type of impact player.
You mean, young man? It's something that appreciate the call.
My man. Appreciate the call.
I'll give me a call.
It is a gentleman.
516452246 All right, I want to get your perspective of you know what's going on.
What's happening? Let's talk about Kenny.
Wouldn't for a minute, though.
On I got my man Gomez in the Chapman.
Get the goals in just a minute.
Kenny won't win.
Apparently will not be playing for the Knicks this season.
Ladies and gentlemen, I know everybody was excited to have Kenny would come up and play for the Knicks, but it looks like it's not going to happen, according to the New York Post.
And as soon as I get this up and going, um, I'm a read it out to you, but Kenny won't win.
Ladies and gentlemen, Um, apparently last night's game.
Kenny won't hold a stone, Uh, let me see.
Signed last month to a two way Julie contract and made him eligible to play 25 games on the Knicks roster.
But it's not gonna happen.
Wound, toy ligament in his left film.
Don't offend you.
Not last night during a February 17th was just a Knicks game.
Um, he was to have surgery Monday night and the next announced moon.
Walton will be out a minimum of six weeks.
Well, there's a chance the undrafted power forward from organ will be ready by the April 15th season finale.
Look, I don't know.
Look, the Knicks already according to this article, doing so already has a tent to promote anyone feeling that he was making significant or, you know, filling his experience in the D League was sufficient for the most part.
Seems like they signed can he wanted just to keep him away from other teams.
Um, so we'll see, you know, But it doesn't look like we're going to see, And he won't win this season.
Ladies and gentlemen, it's another phone call.
Call the young love another.
But Nick's was popping.
What's up? I'm good, brother.
How you feeling? I'm gonna, um I just like to look into getting you.
All you hear is man and this.
You think I'd like to see um, basically I don't think we should get another point guard in the draft.
I think Frank is is good.
I think the S J is good.
I think if a coach like Dan Tony had Diaz you he would be used to his right potential.
Because from the game tonight, you can see him driving.
He got through to the rim at will.
And with front defensive potential, I think it would be.
I don't think it is any point guard right now in the draft.
I would just Well, the Knicks do anything right? So So you're telling me that you think that the Knicks will be able to become a playoff contending team with, frankly licking and Dennis Smith Jr as the starting in backup point guards? Yeah, huh.
Not not not maybe not the finals, but at least in the playoffs, because I think if you look at from you getting better every year, you can see this year.
He has gotten a lot more confident with his shooting.
He's authentic promise.
He's always been defensively, like his justice.
First instinct, right? I mean, defensively defensively.
Look, he's good, right? We know that defensively he can get the job done, and I think you keep him just for that.
I do not feel like he's going to be.
I think he has some point guard skills.
I don't feel like he's gonna be your starting point guard that leads you to a championship team.
Could he be a start on this league one day? I don't know.
It paints out where Al he develops.
All offensively, let me ask you one question.
Right? Um, do you see any point guard in this year's draft or last year's draft off? They dropped before that.
Anything close to Steph Curry, Russell Westbrook or any off the top North Point? Not said last year's draft.
Yeah, John Durant was in last year's draft.
Yeah, maybe drama on.
Yeah, we don't know because it could just be a flash in the pan one year hit wonder, right? And then when the defense starts reading what he's actually trying to do, then what happens then? Steph Curry be freaky.
Well, I mean, I agree with you there as far as John Moran.
We've got to see what happens next season.
But from what I see from John Moran, I don't see him slowing down.
I don't see him slowing down.
I see him only getting better.
But then again, that's I'm telling you, like it hasn't been anything in the last five years.
Right? Everybody was all about Lonzo Lonzo.
But we see what Alonso is on.
What answer will always be okay.
Um, so So they know what I'm saying, right? We should just focus on trying to get something that actually, um, outlying.
Like, for instance, Have you seen this kid? Play will be talking.
You should look at some of his games, okay? Because he's like a hybrid.
Um, 45 right? Uh huh.
Almost like Well, a young prime Omari started Maya, you should just watch give.
You can shoot from booty.
He can take it inside again to get outside.
I can take you off the dribble, everything you just need to put on size, and that's it.
Um, the only point that I like to see in this draft, honestly, in my opinion, is the kid from Iowa State that the unimportant well, apart from that, I'm not impressed that cool Antony that much.
I don't think you'll make much of a difference.
It is directed by the next now.
Okay, well, we'll see.
I mean, listen, I think the sores need for the Knicks is a point guard.
I actually think if we had a point guard that could really lead this team.
I think Frank Miller Kena right now is too shy to lead the team.
I think Dennis Smith Jr doesn't really have point guard skills.
You know, uh, to me, he doesn't have point guard skills.
I think you need a leader you need.
You need a bona fide leader on the floor, which we do not have.
And I think that I always feel like that needs to come from the person that, um that controls the ball that controls the floor, right, even though, like every loss and every every team that LeBron James is on doesn't really need a point guard, right? They don't need a point guard because LeBron James LeBron James is the is the He is the point guard.
He is the guy to control the floor, make the decisions on the floor and things like that.
He has the ball in his hands, so he didn't need a point guard to do that.
You need a guy like that.
Most times it comes from your point guard.
The Knicks don't have a guy like that.
You know, that can really facilitate and run to show out there.
Um, so But I think I think I obviously is.
Definitely you that.
But like I told you that the only person I'm seeing in this drop the was his name. Holland Burton.
That's the guy I'm seeing from this drug because he asked elite size he can shoot.
He controls a piece of the game very well.
He has a great court vision.
Everything all right on gum, That other guy will be talked, and I don't know how it's gonna happen, but I wish you could get him.
But we stuck with Julius.
Julius is I don't know.
He's a bench player to me.
He should be coming off the bench on any other team.
I don't see a predictable.
He does the same thing. I find sticks.
The bull sticks.
They said Mills at the ball sticking.
He's 10 times with Campbell in terms of that.
All right, well, hey, man, I appreciate your call, and I'm gonna check out.
I'm gonna check the guy out.
I'm gonna check it out.
All right. All right. Thanks. Appreciate it, man.
I just get you another call.
Ladies and gentlemen, probably on live.
Another burden. Ex wife's apartment.
I'm good, brother. How you feeling? I'm all right.
Goes to take man was to take, uh I don't know, looking at this.
It I don't know why we're not playing career.
I want I want an answer for that.
That's got, like, just from And maybe maybe he hurt.
Maybe it's some they're not trying to tell you or something, but I just don't see how we can't use them.
I don't see how we can use.
I agree with you.
I agree with you 100%.
I mean, I think it looks like I think it's gonna be a failure if he goes on another team.
You know, if he goes on another team with score, you like the way we traded him to Houston? He might be average of 15 points again, the way out, the way they play in the style.
I mean, he just I don't know why we were and then, um I want to see Gigi.
I don't I mean, I'm sorry, Kevin. Knock.
Maybe we gotta shut him down.
Give him a fake back injury or something.
Just figure out what's wrong with him.
But Iggy Iggy has been doing solid work in the D League, and I don't think you've got a reward.
I think it just hurts me to watch Kevin knock.
Every game, unmotivated the last two days ago.
He goes out there, he'll give you occasional block.
We'll do this, but you don't see anything consistent.
I want to be a g out there.
I want to be a G. I want to be. You could go off.
I think he's gonna give you a couple of nice games and show you some consistency.
He's got a better shot, and he's got He's got more.
I think a g and R J gether.
That's pretty good.
Um, I don't know.
You guys have a good night now you guys can discuss.
I will have a good one, man.
Have a going to get over here to the, uh, to the video chat.
Ladies and gentlemen, um, she was going on over here.
Oh, just joined us.
Going was checked out, but I'm gonna get back to him.
Hopefully he checks back again.
There he is right there. Get more Was going on, man.
Yeah, it was good, man.
You know, Pop, I couldn't I simply forgot to press record on ah Fu Bo recorded.
So I couldn't see much a game, but I saw some highlights.
Um, I heard you got to tell Marge a barrette and and, um yeah, it's It's interesting.
The, um the worst names don't have the size, but, you know, they can't.
You guys were gonna run to hit the three, and obviously we've been struggling Perimeter shooting.
I gotta watch my Marge, a baronet, have 16 points in the first half.
You know, we've had games where guys kind of go away.
Like even when Randall, I think, had that game, we score like three, some points, one the games, I think to get into sport there Some point.
I can correct me if I'm wrong.
It was one of games we score like 20 points are like 18 points in the first half, you know? I mean, I don't know what happened A second half.
I mean, kind of just We kind of just want away from that.
So I don't know.
I don't know what happened with already, but I got to watch the game for myself.
But, you know, it's kind of frustrating when we have guys for hot.
And then, you know, look, they shoot themselves out in the second half.
That was a case, and, you know, it is what it is.
But, you know, I would love to see what his uses rate was going home for a second half.
Um, Knoxy needs Julie.
Now, um, another game where he's looking and again to me.
I feel like if you are lost Ah, in any aspect of the offense, you better sell out on defense.
You know? I mean, sell out on defense like that should be a marker.
I'm going out for rebounds on Black and guys, I'm shifting my feet.
I'm calling out guys.
I'm being active on being vocal.
I'm being annoying on the court, which, you know, when I play my team, you say being a no no court where you know you play zone, you talk.
Just keep telling me that someone behind me in the middle, you know, help be the eyes behind my back.
You know, stuff like that, you know, and Knox is just, you know, like look, we told R.
J. Babin, we have stuff like that.
Sir, you don't have to be a leader, but there's certain things you can do to help contribute to your team that really don't take Oh, I'm I have to be a leader after doing this, Bible, I know you have to be even super vocal.
So now you know, playing a certain role or two on the team, especially on defense.
I can help out, You know? I mean, um, no, it is what it is, man.
This next time you talk about on R J use its rating in the second half.
I mean, played point guard a lot.
When when Dennis Smith Jr wasn't in the game, R J.
Barrett was running point.
Yeah, he played point guard a lot tonight, and we'll probably see that first longest l for pain and, um, frighteningly coming out.
We'll probably see him playing more point guard right.
You did all right.
You know, he had some, you know, he had some force passes, you know, to some turnovers.
He ended up with five turnovers, I think.
But I'm okay with that.
I can take that because I was trying to make something happen to somebody.
I would get a lot of picker rolls to like to kind of create space because we know R. J. Barry.
He's not a prototypical point guard.
But when you allow him to, you know, when you get space and then create movement after that on the perimeter was, ah, guy cutting back out, maybe a guy using a pig down, you know, things like that.
You know, he was getting some screen roles, but the Knicks spacing is just not good.
All right, So he'd get some screens from Julius Randle.
He'd get some schools with Bobby Portis.
You know about the casing is terrible, you know? Like, do you watch? Obviously.
Do you pay that like we don't screen? Well, like what I see, guys screen.
I see Randall screen, right.
He does this little thing where he kind of bumps but is not a full screen.
Where are I'm blocking out a guy and he has, like, recover and then get around.
Maybe two, maybe one and 1/2 2 seconds.
Let's try to come around a pick, you know? I mean, even Mitch Mitch just screens really poorly.
He you know, he's tall, but he kind of like when he said Screen, sometimes you kind of sets himself really skinny and doesn't really properly set a pick Portis side.
But why would I even mention him with picks? I mean, even that fundamental.
I've seen so many guys.
We set a screen, you know, guys were cover on our guy that they recovered quite easy.
That's not supposed to happen.
You watch guys like Steven Adams.
Obvious team Adam sees is a free country.
But you know, he sets proper picks where that guy's basically out the play.
If the play's gonna execute in the next 23 seconds.
You know, I mean, and this is a two part thing as well, though, because our guys don't screen well, uh, and then our guards.
A lot of times they're going to take the screen before the screen is set.
So you have both of those things happening the screen's not that it's going to be ineffective.
So you're right Little Robinson or something like that going to set the screen.
And then while he's still taking one step two step team, really get set.
Dennis Smith Jr is already moving to come off that screen, right? And so it doesn't become effective.
Or, you know, or you're gonna end up getting getting an offensive foul, right for movement screen or something like that.
And then when it does get set, we barely touched it already, slipping the screen before you listen.
When you're coming off the screen, the ball handler is supposed to bring the guy close to the screen and then come back off.
So you showed his touch and there's not room for that guy to slip through the screen.
I'm saying we don't do that at all.
You know, no front of none of us guards do it.
None of our big men screen well, and I wonder what it is because Mike Miller is not a dumb coach.
So is he not teaching these guys that were reminding them, or or these guys just that apathetic to certain Funda mountains? Because literally things like that, You know, I mean, I'm not saying that, you know? Frankly, ****, you know what it is You're gonna become really good shooters off that that that that screen ah, the mid range become good range shooters off the screen.
But it's like when you take a guy out the play when? When the numbers say the coast is clear.
But when I have space to operate and another guy has to commit, yes to leave his guy leave his area to commit to me, that creates an advantage for the Knicks.
And I see other teams executed so well seem like simple things like that.
Like simple on screen and roll.
Simple screen picking pops like we don't execute on certain fundamentals.
Like we could stay and talk about all you know, this guy.
He scored 30 some points.
You score some whatever bottle on points, But we literally lack fundamentals.
And I just wonder, you know, is it the players? Is that the coach? The place I want to listen that the players don't have that.
I mean, I came to say talent, how hard is it not saying screens Not saying For me, it's easy I'm saying for MBA place to literally just set a proper screen.
And it's not like you.
You want to say that time you start a scream.
I mean, I mean, like, like you could say because, you know, you say that sometimes.
Like like, you know, for me.
You know, it's one thing for them, it's another.
But when you think about the level that you play at right, you play at your level.
And it may be, you know, tough to set a screen or close out or whatever it is, you know, you know, maybe tougher.
But then they're still playing at a level where everyone is on their level is well, so what you get What I'm saying is the same speed is the same strength, you know, up there, just like where you play on your levels, the same speed in the same strength.
And there is still God.
There's still God.
I mean, how do you 32 32.
So there's still guys.
That's 2122 23 24 years old.
And you said and you would think Okay, they should have learned this in high school, right? But they don't I mean, we've had that discussion they don't write, especially when you're a guy that's going to make it to the N B. A.
It probably really don't get a lot of coaching.
And then in college, they're doing at one year and they're out.
You know, saying that a lot of countries soon is that there's certain things like right there certain things where I understand why you didn't get it right.
But But certain things you learn, even when you were young and the thing about that they're doing it.
This is why I don't necessary.
But I can't believe it with certain things that that they just didn't learn it right or like I'm not saying you use as a pure excuse, but I'm just saying I can't.
I don't lean towards that is because they're doing it right, and it's a poorly So the reason.
The fact that matters that you're doing it, you have to ask yourself, Why am I doing this play? So if I'm sent a pick to do so, I'm obviously trying to block a guy out, so maybe my point guard can operate in space, and then maybe I'll cut down.
So you're doing it for reason.
So you know, we don't know for reason.
So the fact that you're not executed well, I should tell you, the missing ingredient agree.
Ingredient is a lack of fundamental when you set the pick.
Like I get that I just said, but what I mean, but the thing is almost like watching basketball to someone who's never played before.
You tell my highlight kids, guys who are high level at high school, middle school, high school, elementary school, middle school, high school and college like it's unassailable.
I'm watching this, and I know, but you gotta You gotta understand.
You gotta go, Really? Go see high school level.
You have some case that understand and do it.
But your stars, your maid players, they don't get the same kind of coaching, right? One.
You have coaches that don't want to scare him off of the day.
If they're coaching too much, some kids can take it.
I'm saying that some coaches don't care.
They're gonna coach you anyway.
There's a lot of coaches out there that don't have to do it.
And then there's a lot of coaches talking about guys from different schools.
Like one of the eyes that we pick 34 big men, and they all set picks poorly.
That could be very good.
You know what? I think they could be very good.
I'm gonna tell you what.
Why? I think they could be very good.
Um, you look at Mitchell Robinson.
Hey, he didn't play in college.
Came right out of high school.
Mitchell Robinson was a NASA said a lot of screens in high school.
Robinson there were there, were lobbing Mitchell Robinson the ball high school.
It was acid said, a lot of screens.
You can guarantee that, right? Because he was so over talented.
Better than everybody else.
All right. Julius Randle.
He probably didn't get much coaching.
He went to Kentucky.
Okay, Not sure about that.
Play a one year, one year, one year.
Hey, you too soon, human.
Don't do, do you go and watch a You think these guys are getting cold? I know they don't.
Not every a a lot of teams do not, coach.
I agree with you There.
You told about a guy who played he's played all over, played a few places.
You can tell me that when he was with the Lakers, when he was the pelicans greens with, um, Kentucky.
When a Rhodes scholar reports about about jurors, Randall, they had they you go to this has cost counterpart is the same issues.
So you tell me from all these places, no one's ever told me.
Hey, Juries, when you set picks, they're pretty poor, like knows because you told her.
Because Because, look, you could look at our whole team and they do not set pigs send the whole plan.
I'm tired of seeing that one player, one player, sods.
Gibson, right? One player.
Whole team does not doing it.
So, I mean, we have players that have come from a long lineage of playing basketball in MBA.
All right, so it was not just I mean, it is.
It is out of You can't be hit. I'm sorry.
This is why Maybe this This is why some things guys are bums, man.
Because if I'm losing right, if I'm losing all the **** time like these nicks and nothing seems to be working, you know, I mean, you weren't coached, but you can learn.
You know, I mean, I never knew about coding in high school.
Whatever, but I'm learning it now.
You don't even have to do that.
You tell my guys it's their job.
Todo which I got to see some start.
But you're also 32 years old.
You're also 30 two years old and you're learning it now, right? You know, Wait a minute. No, no, no, no.
An MBA 32 is older, right? You're almost there almost to be out the league.
But it doesn't mean that your maturity level it does.
It doesn't speed up your maturity level.
And so these guys are young kids.
This once told my before Everyone is not gonna be that.
But you still gotta have coaches that coaching and teaching.
But you still gotta have that.
We don't have the players.
We will have the coach.
I don't know what's going on inside there. I don't know.
These guys are bombs. I'm sorry.
I don't know, but let me ask you this.
Hold up every single year.
We have the same issue.
Last year, we didn't have half of these players.
The same **** issue.
Tell me we did not have it.
We don't have the same **** issues last year.
Okay? But you're proving my point that humming alone knows.
What I'm saying is you're saying is these players What I'm saying is we had different players, same coaches, No, but seven of those symptoms except ships.
And please, please, please, old mark me, please on Yumi, you have to go.
So what I'm saying? I said that we have three or four guys who all can't do the same thing.
And the correlation I'm drawing is that it has to be.
Ah, lot of the onus has to go on the coaching.
I said that coaching up the Knicks.
So I'm saying that we have a bunch of guys that we acquired and they're still executing something very basic and fundamental very poorly.
And I said that that has to be on the coaching.
I'm not. I know what he's talking about.
Us away from the players.
If you come to my team, if we're playing a certain way, Look, if you go toe to go to some of these teams, but what about starters? Go to the Celtics of the always 09 If you're a wing player, you gotta learn how to get the not defend.
You guys are probably didn't were able defending.
Their weren't great defenders before they came cells or whatever.
And they developed it, even though I can't really think of it because Avery Bradley, Tony Allen, James Woolsey, all good defenders.
But you go to certain places and you have to play a certain way, you know? I mean, so is it's on the players, but it's also on.
The coach is also on the front office if you're drafting or you're signing guys who literally cannot play fundamental basketball, that is a flow on the front office because every half hour looking at these guys and they literally cannot execute it the next day.
But execute them literally.
Probably three or four fundamental things.
Not even I'm not talking about sin here in scoring 30 point tonight.
I'm I see you're talking about getting 20 sister night.
I'm so not literally fundamentally execute on.
Fast breaks can do that.
Execute on a pick on picks, period.
Boxing out and simple defending to some of the fat not even talk about great defending the Knicks a prop.
Probably easily have 10 more wins.
I mean, look, look, look, look.
The thing I mean, you know, you you know, you say you got to get guys that self started, but you gotta get some.
You gotta change the way that you're thinking in the n b A.
I went over and over.
People got to change the way that they're thinking in the N b A.
You know, saying you disagree.
You can't expect that.
These guys are gonna come to you and know these things.
You've really gotta put in a system to teach these kids how to play because they're coming into you until talk.
I mean, they gave three or four years in college.
I agree with John.
Put the onus on both sides, but to me, I just find it amazing that you're getting paid millions of dies, and I can understand the age thing.
But, you know, I sound like this so called older guy. Whatever.
I'm trying to put a JJ against age, but I just find it.
It hurts me to watch a player even if you're not scoring.
Maybe you're off.
Scoring for certain guys is a rhythm thing, right? Knox? He can score it.
But the thing is that when Knox is a score one, Randall, when they're not scoring, they all for nothing else.
And it's not even Randall.
You're saying laziness, Knox tickets to say on lack of confidence, whatever.
But to me, if I was Knox, I lose that.
You know what? Screw it.
Let me take 2 to 3 shots tonight.
I'ma keep taking is not whatever, but I'm a sellout on defense.
I'm gonna make sure that when I look at a rebound and the ball and eye coordination I grabbed the ball, I'd come down with it.
I'm not letting some guy tip it out.
I'm not letting lose out, you know, it's just you're getting paid millions of dollars and you're not literally just sitting there watching your film, critiquing your you know? I mean, I'm not saying that they I just feel that they are Well, you know what that means.
That dollars don't help these guys.
In my opinion, you're speaking to the quiet because it does not help me.
What? You don't have a **** thing to work for.
You start making the minute you start making $1,000,000.
At 19 years old, you're gonna have some people that I like, You know? You know, I have this other.
I have another level that I really want to get, too.
It's gonna be a lot of people.
That's just like I'm straight and you and you forgot.
Since you said 90 years old.
These guys, something's gotta get paid thousands of dollars since $2000 at 16.
I mean, I've seen you for you are the stories of the cruise.
I think you know about burning, but you are from a fern.
It No, no, no, I'm not.
But remember, there's a story about a kid who was getting scouted.
He signed at, like, the age of eight or seven, you know? I mean, you're gonna say and tell me.
I think it was Duke.
I want to say do I could be wrong. I forgot.
This is maybe a few years ago.
You know me and you tell me these guys again paid out the wazoo, and that's final.
Product is poor, so Look, you know, I slightly take back the comment that I said that you gotta draft so starters, because obviously that that pool is probably gonna be a thought lot thinner.
But then now I've got to put more of the onus on the coaches I got.
You know, what put like this is a meritocracy.
If Brando I'm just picking on Randall.
I'm not saying he's only guy Randall porters who? Everyone to say.
If you guys aren't doing certain fundamentals, they shouldn't be playing.
I mean, like I said, he comes in and you said six minutes, nine points, six minutes, nine points to you before from the field.
It is the same tree of that memo last year.
We complain he overdue.
And I know you said tonight he droops.
I gotta watch him. So don't take it is me.
I mean, you know what? He did this thing, but a Sometimes we need it because we can't score the ball right that we get school way.
Funny thing again, Whip.
I mean, we do it, and obviously the Knicks aren't maybe maybe Alan Harper, but no, really picked on the fact that, like traer was, was moving the ball a lot better.
Little Spurs a of time is getting, and it's like he wasn't getting rewarded for it, you know? I mean, we have other guys on this team who literally fundamental basketball not getting back on defense, not just just being lazy.
Or is this why they getting time? And I just that that kind of ruins things right? So if a guy is working hard, he's not getting He's not reaping the rewards of that, you know, I mean, is like you could kind of destroy team morale.
But again, this a team that's in him that's in flux, man, I don't know if Mike Miller's coaching to be like effort.
I'm not gonna be here anyway.
Or if he's like I'm being hamstrung, I have to play certain players for whatever reason.
I Well, I don't I don't think the entire team is probably checked out, but I do want to say Big Craig in the YouTube and YouTube jet, he said, Same people on the show all the time.
Just talking role whereby dot com slash NBK.
You can come in any time you want to hear a different voice.
You can hear your own voice.
You can come in right now.
It's all you're saying.
So, you know, you got something you want to say.
You come here and you could talk to you could say your piece too.
And you could be just one of the other guys.
That's just talk.
Mike, What's going on, man? No, the night other lows.
Say I'm chilling Made.
May I'm saying, you know, we're just getting through this man.
We got 25 games left to the season is getting overweight, right? This is gonna be a rough stretch.
There's gonna be a rough 25 games because the team is checked out.
Yeah, a lot of the play.
Not all of the players, but they checked out.
But the vets, they look checked out, broke.
They checked out.
Hey, Betty, if the Knicks are like up and we're losing your that, they just get checked out, man.
And yeah, I don't even know where to go from here because, like Dennis Smith Jr playing, he don't know how to run our offense.
Point guard Knox is out there just waiting to go home to play foot Ah, the rotation you put in dots.
You put in a trance like Listen, now want Just put that kid in because he even likes he wants to play.
And he could do some things that the place that wouldn't seem can't.
So you need to be.
You need to be in the rotation from now.
25 25 games left to the season.
25 games left. Tennessee.
You guys did because you guys, I want to hear your thoughts on it.
Um, would you? It looks like he's gonna He wants to re sign with the Lakers, but the Lakers wave DaMarcus cousins.
Would you sign him to a veteran's minimum for the remainder of the season and try to, you know, see if he can, you know, let him recover with the Knicks with the next doctors on the trainers and then see if he can contribute anything next season.
I heard he's doing that with the Lakers.
Well, he got waved with the Lakers.
He got weight so that they could sign markers.
Moore's brother. So they consign my Keith Morris.
Now The thought is that he may, um, okay, Going says he can't sound with the Lakers for another 12 months.
So I I was just reading on CBS that they have interested in doing something again this summer.
I don't know, but would you do that? If it was available to you? Would you do with a view of the next? Uh, no, Because again with him, that's true.
That, uh, let him wander, Let him wander.
He's very talented.
She's knowledge it.
But he right now with yes, he has to play with a collection.
Yeah, I agree with you.
He probably needs to be in a place where it is this, You know, he is not gonna be any pressure on him to perform, you know? Hey, you can't come here.
What? That type of injury and expect him to come back and do so You have to play with a collection, the talent so it won't make him look like he's even there.
Well, for the moment, beings.
Ah, you leave them there and with the next listen well, have to, you know, I'm kind of glad that there's a report with the time Typical thing that is gonna end up keeping Mike Miller, so I'm kind of glad about that.
So, yeah, let's.
So let's get into that man.
Is this this look like it's a foregone? Doesn't look like this is it? It's Tom Thibodeau was here.
I think it's going down.
It's going down.
I think it's going down just because the dude has attract a great track.
Work it off, developing young talent, and that's that's what we're lacking.
You have young again, again, again.
Our young players very vital our roster right now.
So what we have right now Because we can't We can't depend on, you know, quality free agents coming here.
So we have our young talents vital.
So you're gonna have to bring in a coat that can squeeze any type of juice.
Would you get out of these young plays? This this to me? There's about 45 Well, I think you could squeeze and the out liar to me is Kevin Knox.
Is Mitch for me? Ah j tria.
If he's here, Frank and Dots and I think that time to look like we rule out of them because this is a little squeezing to do when you watch him.
I think Knox need to go down to the Jie Li just for just to get his confidence.
I'm sorry because the kid looked like like he don't.
Okay, you don't care like you just don't care.
Uh, you know, I don't know what I don't you know? I don't know.
Let me get to my man, go, homes.
And then I'm gonna come over going to there going What's going on, man? Yo, what's up? What's up? Yeah, I I'm about I'm laughing here like the boys people are making you.
You said you left me at the points that people are making me ask you.
What do you think about Thibodeau, man? Is Thibodeau coming to the Knicks? Is it a foregone conclusion? Is it done? Is he gonna be the next coach? We know he's thirsting for the job, so it doesn't matter that say that again.
Treat, It doesn't matter who comes to codes techniques.
As long as we are a rudderless ship wreck, we don't have a turns off even to me thing.
Then be a finalist, let alone winning it.
Well, we're definitely not sniffing the N B A Finals next year.
We know that, but can he be the star off? Can tip.
It'll be the start of the turnaround.
Oh, that's that's the thing.
See, It's a bone.
You're breaking up.
You kind of breaking up on me going is if you can you're breaking up pretty bad.
I don't know if you if you're speaking, if you're on speaker, if you got a, ah, headset in, um, but you're kind of breaking up on me real bad.
I'm able to hear you clearly.
Are you able to hear me? That's better.
But you were breaking up. I don't know.
You know, you were breaking up for a second.
So for me, it's all about the direction because we are the less and see.
Also, there was a point being made about, um, what you call getting Tom Thibodeau as the coach and moving forward, and he has a good record, everything like that.
But what I feel is that we need to bring in players having a vision, so that is lacking.
A coach cannot provide the vision for Dean.
The GM and the president have to do it I agree with you 100%.
Um, you know, I'm no 100%.
You gotta have me.
The end is evolving when it comes to how do play to win? Because what I feel is that it's about versatility.
The boy guard needs to be a person who is very good and assisting on.
He has a reliable three point trick on you need three guys who are all swing guys.
Three Andy guys who can knock down the three art like greater than 37%.
That is greater than league average.
And you need a good center who can lay midrange game.
That is more than enough.
But what I feel is you're not having that vision.
We're getting random players and trying to make her dean.
I definitely agree with you.
Um, you know, hopefully when Leon Rose comes in, he said, see a clear vision in a clear direction.
You know where we're going.
It sounds like he may take over, um, as president next week and he should be announced next week S O.
If he's announced next week, we'll be definitely looking to see if he's going to, um, see if he's going to set a direction.
What kind of direction you What direction do you want to see him set? You know, like what? What kind of business do you want to see him set for the team? Uh, so I'll for me.
The direction for the New York Knicks is just being functional because see, the number of wins you get in a particular season does not impact whether you can win a championship in the long run, because at some point every friend days has been the worst frenzies.
So we just have to look it from the point off, starting in a very simple way.
Getting the basics right on, for example, for drafting rate, especially drafting is the biggest thing in India because talent wins you championships.
So for me they're drafting us, Toby.
But good, different.
You need to look at players if they know the fundamentals.
If they can really do positionally Nord Weatherly having span or whether they have measurables or something like that, because measurables are the most deceptive shooting in basketball because it is a sport after on it is not some mechanical thing.
We're only extra borders and the people.
Hearts are in war.
So you need Put your coat and you need to scold people in a different manner.
That is, what a fee.
Okay, now I feel you. I feel you.
Phil Jackson did that a lot, right? Heat looked at the measurements of a player.
You know how long their arms are? I mean, those things mean, you know, they mean some stuff.
It doesn't always relate to the basketball court, though.
I mean, imagine this team if Phil Jackson was there and he was continuing to Tank and the guard Frank, Luca and KP, you might in that day, even New York.
I mean, well, honestly, I think Phil Jackson was wanted to move KP.
I don't think he really wanted to stay with KP.
Honestly, I feel me a Ah, A lot of times I'm in the minority.
I felt like Phil Jackson had the right idea, um, with the Knicks, and I thought he was looking to do the right thing with the Knicks.
I thought it's ego got in the way, the on how he approached it.
Obviously, he made some mistakes along the way, but it is what it is man.
We got to deal with it.
Hopefully, Leon Rose is gonna come in.
Hopefully, you know, possibly next week.
They'll make the announcement.
And then a new era Delia Rose era will begin.
And then? And then the Leon rose every little bit game.
What'd you say now? You're already on our way to Cancun.
So speaking of the six, Anders even matters.
This season is Ah, This season is in the pot. It is kaput.
Ladies and gentlemen, um, season is done.
What? I do want to get around, ask you guys, and I see big freezes here, but, um yeah, wait till he comes back.
I'm gonna start with Mark.
Mark, I'm coming to you and I want to get from you.
I want to get from you and look, my market.
I don't know if Mark mark it him and not just who is Who is who is your guy Mark, Who is your guy for coach Mark Mark, Who is your guy? Who do you want? Mark, do you hear me? Yeah.
Oh, you said so.
I don't know what Marx talking about? I don't know. I don't know.
I don't know if you gave me there Anyway, I don't know who my guy is.
I will be honest with you.
I don't know who My guys, as far as coach, you know, if you do, I want Thibodeau.
Um, I told you how I feel about Mark Jackson.
I'm not sure who.
My guys, you know, there's a lot of candidates out there I do want to give a shout out.
Gonna give a big shout out to Ralph Petito said Jerry Stackhouse as coach.
And you Duca Duca Udoka.
How you say his name is his top assistant? Both are ideal coaches for New York City for the New York Knicks, R J Frank Mitsch docks in the trailer keeping 100% draft three in D wing before point guard, honestly, or perhaps Wiseman.
Okay, uh, route.
Thank you for the super chat.
I appreciate you, um I'm looking into Chan.
I want to see who you guys think should be the coastal Ralph.
Really things Jerry Stackhouse would be the coach.
Um, here's my thing with Jerry Stackhouse.
I think j stock I was going to be an excellent coaching the MBA.
My only fear right now is if you if you have ah, I don't think you can.
I don't think it's a good idea to go.
And I don't think it's a good idea to start this rebuild with a rookie president and a rookie head coach in the N B.
A rookie in NBA head coach.
I don't think that's a good idea, you know? I mean, I think one of one of your guys need to be experienced.
We're gonna find out when see who they decide to hire as the GM.
But somebody needs to have some experience.
You know what I'm saying? I see.
Carry 4 20 says Stan Van Gundy.
Um, I don't know.
Um, von Kwan said, Give Jackson another shot.
Are you talking about Mark Jackson? Phil Jackson? You say Give him another shot before 20 says Mark Jackson.
We'll see man tips of Mark Jackson.
That seems to be the popular vote. Next.
Fans have wanted **** for a while.
Big freezing. I'm coming to you.
What's going on, man? Big fleas.
You Can you hear me? Yeah, man, I'm going with you, man.
Who's your guy for coach, man.
Who do you want to coach? Lana happens.
I think I did see you say that the other day, didn't you? I think you said that the other day.
Lionel Hollins? Yeah.
And in the river.
The reason being is because his systems are his office look, system and basic in that he takes Higgins is the best of what? The talent any you've got done for dudes to do play outside themselves like of you a jump shooting.
Just not value open jump shots in a in an efficient manner.
On defense, all he wants you to do is be active.
Usually takes a couple of couple Doom's to be starting on defense and due to be stars on offense.
And then if you do that consistently, that's just enough to get you to about 50 wins in a season.
Um, I don't know.
I'm still up in the air.
I'm not sure who like, I'm really rooting for.
If I'm rooting for anyone in particular, I'm just kind of watching to see what happens right now, you know? I don't know.
Did you watch the fight, man.
You watch while they get the Yeah.
We're really confident you could say so.
Outfit to the room.
When I heard him in the pregame interview automatically, I felt like he was going to be looking for a knockout.
And I felt like that was gonna be trouble, you know, I'm saying because I heard on, you know, you know, he was talking to the lady.
It was from the UK or whatever.
And she was talking about how he knocked, you know? Was he worried about that? That Tyson Fury got up when he knocked it down in the first fight? It was a gay.
Well, you know, I'm a knocking about this time this time.
He's not getting back up.
We're going to see and look in the first round, bro.
I could see in the first round I could see it in the first round when I seen Tyson land in a couple.
Like some clean blows.
They may not have been super hard, but just some clean shots right down the bob, right, that right down the pipe way.
And I was like, Oh, man, if he's gonna land like that, it's over.
And all Lago was doing so Hey, make Tyson and Buster Douglas.
Hello? Reminded me a plate number after Douglas.
Not got best of drugs in the first round, right? Yeah.
And I think the thing is, is is tanks and a lot of defense and flawed because we get hit like that instead of countering backup defense like reverse people, not your back foot to escape away from a new power punch the daughter of the back straight up or ducked his head through forward like that Fighting power punches.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely.
I think early in the fight, I feel early in the fight while they went into survival mode Real early after the second round, I feel like he was in survival mode and he was looking for one blow to land.
Like one real blow to land.
To knock him out.
Felt like he was in survival mode.
And I was like, You know, I was obviously, I was hoping for one of them blows to land, but I was looking like he's in survival mode, right? now he's just trying to lay in some, like That's the way Tyson.
That's the way when Tyson would start getting beat buddies.
That's what he would do, right? He would just look to land a big blow.
Forget about fighting in boxing.
I mean, that's a lot of it.
He didn't Mike time.
Someone got in trouble like that.
He didn't back, you know, reverse.
Pivot away from power punches.
He wouldn't bob.
And, you know, Duck is headed toward the other person head forcing them the back. Another that step.
When he was doing, we're backing straight up.
And but what he did, he did, He realizes do that Doctor from was coming straight forward.
Karl punchers the storm.
