What's going on, everybody? It's your boy, Ray.
And welcome to my little show called The Gridiron Rant presented by DP and Sports Talk Live on SportsCastr.
Let me ask you this.
Now that Danny Amendola has signed with the Detroit Lions, is it not time that the Patriots fans except he was never going to come back to New England? I will try and enter this question and a whole lot more because here on DP and we like football.
We like football season and everything that goes with it.
If you are watching on YouTube, don't forget to hit that prescribing like button.
And if you wanna watch the show live, I've left the length of my PSP SportsCastr profile in the description.
So look, I never thought that Danny Amendola was the answer to solve the Patriots offensive issues.
If you recall, I wrote and talked about it last week, and I said that the only reason that I would want Mn Dola back in New England would be to re signed Tom Brady.
But as Patrick Morgan from the musket fire pointed out, quote anyone who thought New England, the New England Patriots and Danny Amendola are destined to reunite must have forgotten what the receivers said about Bill Belichick. End quote.
And I get why people wanted Amendola back.
Very similar to what I was saying about James White yesterday.
There is a huge emotional connection to Amendola.
He will go down as an all time Patriot.
He won Super Bowls with the Patriots.
He was a part of Brady's illustrious inner circle.
But I think we're forgetting that things didn't end well between Danny Amendola and the New England Patriots.
Danny playoff, Emmental or whatever you want to call him. Felt underappreciated.
A completely undervalued by the team ballot.
Jack offered him a contract that apparently offended Danny and Amendola didn't really have anything nice to say about Balletic, even slapped him with labels like Principal in a Hole M.
Andalas, We probably all know now has signed a new one year deal that will keep him with the Detroit Lions for another season.
Amendola quickly became Matthew staff, one of Matthew Stafford favorite receivers, and it looks like Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia want to keep him around guys.
At the end of the day, the NFL comes down to money in appreciation.
Two things that Danny Amendola never had and would never get in New England.
Morgan lays it out.
Pretty great detail.
Never forget that despite Amendola's lengthy injury history and perch in for disappearing at times during the regular season, there's no way New England makes it through three Super Bowls in four years and wins, too, of those titles without Danny Playoff, Amendola, some of them and dollars.
Most memorable highlights is a Patriot catching Julian Edelman's touched down in the comeback divisional round over the Baltimore Ravens in 2014 catching the Touchstone a touchdown pass in the comeback Super Bowl victory over the Seattle Seahawks in 2014 catching a touchdown pass in the historic comeback Super Bowl victory over the Atlanta Falcons and 2016 catching two touchdown passes and at racking up 84 yards and wrote to winning the A F C championship game in 2000 and 17 over the Jacksonville Jaguars, leading all Patriots receiving from 152 yards in the Super Bowl loss of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017.
All of this and New England decided Amendola wasn't worth with the Miami Dolphins are offering him in free agency during the spring of 2018.
Now, Amendola explained all of this in multiple interviews after deciding to sign with the Dolphins. Quote.
I came in with an open mind, Amendola said of the negotiation period per CBS's Sports John Breach.
I understand that Bill Ballot Jack runs a tight ship.
When free agency broke, I came to the realization that he wasn't going to really come close to any other offers I had.
I had to make a decision for my family and go down to Miami and continue my career there.
Let's also not forget that he gushed over Adam Jase.
He made a pretty obvious that he preferred his new boss over his old one, he said. Quote.
It's almost like Coach Case is one of the guys, one of the boys, and you want to fight for your boys, Amendola said at the time.
Back in New England, it was like you've got a principal in the principal's office and stuff like that in a good way, in a bad way, too much respect.
All the coaches who have given me the opportunity to play for their team end quote.
Well, he continues on.
It's not easy playing for Bala Track, that's for sure.
He's an A hole Sometimes.
There were a lot of things I didn't like about plane for him, but I must say that the things I didn't like, we're all in regards to get in the team better, and I respect him.
I didn't like practicing the snow.
I didn't like practicing in the rain, but that's gonna make us a better football team, and that was gonna make me a better football player.
And he'd be the first to admit it at the Super Bowl ring ceremony that it wasn't easy plane for him.
The silver lining was that we were all at a ring ceremony.
But you know, Amendola really treated 2018 like he was released from some prison and he was griping about the warden.
What? I'm Angela forgot to mention those interviews about how poorly he was treated by Bill ballot shock.
You know how mean of a guy Bill ballot check is.
What you forgot to mention is that he played for three teams in five years and everybody who had him before gave up on him before ballots check signed him and let him have a taste of success.
Amendola got two rings from Brady and Belichick, and now he's made it crystal clear that it's all about business for him, Which is fine.
Look, Bill Ball check.
Never, ever, ever.
And nor should he have given Danny Amendola.
5 million with Lions are giving him the Patriots don't need role players.
The Patriots are full of role players right now.
The Patriots need playmakers.
Do they need guys who can transform the offense? And I know that some people around Pats Nation wanted this toe happen really badly.
But the Patriots need somebody who's gonna come in and make the difference.
And it was never going to be Danny Amendola.
Hey, guys, don't forget to come check me out.

I've left the link in the description on YouTube in my profile on SportsCastr, make sure you follow me on Twitter and Instagram at DP An underscore Ray at DPMNE underscore **** still to come on Gridiron rant There's some massive trade rumors floating around that both the New England Patriots and the Jacksonville Jaguars are exploring a trade for the Baltimore Ravens.
For tight end jade and Hate and Hearst, there's finally a bit of a timeline for Ben Roethlisberger's return.
The NFL in the media have invaded Indianapolis for the 2020 NFL combine in between Tom Brady and Joe Burrow, their dominating the story lines.
The Indianapolis Colts seem ready to move on from Jacoby percent if they need to.
Owner Jim Irsay says that all quarterback options will be on the table this year.
Chase Young will not be participating in the NFL combine drills, and the NFL, apparently reinstated Want is perfect in January.
Don't forget everybody who's watching live on SportsCastr.
Following the gridiron ran I will be debut ing the Bull Pen report presented by DP and Sports Talk Live on SportsCastr.
We'll be covering all the latest news and rumors and opinions in the world of professional baseball.
The replay will be on YouTube the next day at 10 a.m.
With all that on the way, it is now time to look at some of the most up to date news, the rumors opinions from around the football world.
So Mike Alexander, from the score, put out a report today that Ruff's burgers, now 2 to 3 months from being fully cleared after undergoing elbow surgery last September, Ben Roethlisberger appears to be inching towards returning to the field.
The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, who suited up for just two games in 2019 was optimistic about his recovery after visiting the doctor on Friday.
It was a good report, Roethlisberger said.
According to 93.
7, the fans Ron Cook quote.
I've got to bypass the tennis ball throwing for a month and I go right to the football.
It's still gonna be about two and 1/2 to 3 months until I get total cleared from the dock, but we're doing good. End quote.
Big band recently resumed throwing and he could be healthy in time for offseason activities.
Quote. It felt amazing to throw, he said.
It was hard to hold in the smile.
I'll have two more throwing sessions while I'm out here in California, and then I'm headed back to Pittsburgh.
Rather's Burger set career highs of passing yards and touchdowns in 2018.
Mason, Rudolph's and Devon and Devlin Hodges split starts under center last season in the Veterans Absence.
Listen, I don't like the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In fact, I hate the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Patriots fans, Everybody knows.
But I like when Tom Brady plays Ben Roethlisberger.
I like when Pittsburgh has their full team.
I love rivalry games.
So all the best Big Ben.
Now the NFL combine is in town in Indianapolis, and Joe Burrow and Tom Brady and all the rest of the madness takes center stage.
This comes from Don Brian Dunn Dunleavy from The New York Times, and it goes like this.
The NFL scouting combine workouts are moving into prime time, but the real show still happens after hours with executives, agents, coaches, scouts and media all gathered for a week in Indianapolis.
The combine is a hotbed for back channel negotiations and speculative buzz created in the social settings draft Homework is the advertised proposed purpose 337.
Prospects were invited to lift, run and jump in a new time slot from 4 to 11 p.m.
Thursday till Saturday into till seven on Sunday.
But free agency opens March 18th in the two player addition, periods go hand in hand.
Here are nine story lines that will take twists and turns of the combine well.
L s use Joe Burro Pull and Eli Manning, the presumptive.
The presumptive number one pick grew up in Ohio.
The Bangles are atop the draft board and need a quarterback.
Perfect match, right? Except the Bengals haven't won a playoff game since January 6th.
Borough hasn't campaigned to be the Bengals franchise changer the way Baker Mayfield did for the Browns and 2018 and says he has some leverage, which prompted speculation that he may follow the lead of Manning and force a draft trade by refusing to play for a mist managed team.
Bengals coach Zach Taylor, a sharp young offensive mine and burrow need toe wow each other in an 18 minute formal interview.
Where will Tom Brady play? The six time Super Bowl winner can't officially take change teams just yet, but he will be more discussed in any non rookie at the combine.
He could re sign with the Patriots right now.
Or maybe he and the Patriots and speculation and agreed to part ways in a joint announcement.
Like Philip Rivers and the Chargers, ESPN recently reported no movement on negotiations.
Brady made it clear he, uh Brady made it clear he will play somewhere.
The Cowboys, Chargers, Raiders and Titans are the top suitors.
Then, of course, you got the trade market, the Redskins and the Giants picking number two and number four, respectively, drafted quarterbacks last year.
If the number three Lions stick with Matthew Stafford, all three are possible partners for a team looking to trade up and grab quarterbacks to attack a Viola or Justin Herbert, the number five Dolphins, the number six charges.
The number seven Panthers are playing a game of chicken.
By staying put, the number 12 Raiders number 13 colts could get aggressive.
Last year was the first time in 2015 there were no trades in the top five picks.
Another big story line this week is to his test results six months ago.
Take a viola was the clear number one pick tank for two.
Uh, was supposed to be the Dolphins two year plan for the top pick, but take a viola interest to combine with durability and red flags.
So his biggest test is the extensive medical workup.
He suffered too high ankle sprains and significant hip injury in a 13 month span.
Reports on Tango Biola received positive hip news and three at his three month checkup.
But will he ever be the same player as he was when he burst onto the scene as a freshman? Lefty ah, freshman left Heathrow in Alabama to a national title.
He is not expected to participate on field drills, just team interviews.
What about the rest of the quarterback market? The Cowboys haven't yet.
Franchise tag Dak Prescott.
With Drew Brees returning to the Saints, Teddy Bridgewater is looking for a starting job elsewhere and restricted free agent Taysom Hill could be hard for accomplished conference century pick.
Rivers is a free agent look looking to play a one and 123 more years.
Ryan Tannehill, James Winson, Marcus Mariota are experienced starters scheduled to hit free agency Cam Newton and Derek Carr could shake up free agent to join them.
Number six Tag You're it.
Tuesday is the first day that teams contract their own free agents, and most years the team can only use a franchise tag or the transition tag.
But in 2020 a team can use both tags to different players because it's the final year of a collective bargaining agreement, C b A.
The free agent market will look very different after tags are applied with top talent like Yakin, UH, Yannick the NICU and Amari Cooper Shack.
Barrett, possibly off the market.
A tag on a one year contract.
The tagging team can match the free agent offer.
Signing away a franchise tag player requires forking over to first round draft pick.
Stealing a transition tag player doesn't require compensate compensation.
Number seven CB A. Negotiations.
NFL owners voted to approve, approve a proposed C B A with a radical schedule, changes and tried to rush the NFLPA in the following suit next week.
But the union won't be built.
The executive committee might not even GE let it get to a player vote as 10 months of negotiations near desperate times each side is sure to begin leaking the other demands as unreasonable.
If a new deal is struck by March 18th it will leave teams scrambling.
Who plan to use both tags.
How many impact wide receivers are? Their draft ****ysis expected both 20 wide receivers to be selected in the 1st 3 rounds.
By comparison, there have been 9 to 14 receivers taken in the 1st 3 rounds of the past five drafts.
Oklahoma's CD Lamb and Alabama's Jerry July are battling for the first off the board, maybe the Jets.
But this could be the deepest class.
Everett this position in the combines premier television event.
Alabama's Henry Rugs could break John Ross's record of the 40 yard dash of 4.
22 And then the nine story of the day is other compelling prospects.
Clemson's Isaiah Simmons played 100 snaps of five different defensive positions.
He is a tweener or a versatile weapon in a draft class.
Short on edge rushers, L s u clave on chasing could be about to explode.
Two years removed from a Tornado CEO, the NFL will uncover every rock for offensive lineman Division three prospect Ben Bartsch, who gained £80 in transition from tight end and college as scout's attention after the Senior Bowl.
Wisconsin's Jonathan Taylor, Georgia's DeAndre Swift in western Michigan's Levante Bellamy are the running backs who could shake up your fantasy football in the fall.
Utah State's Jordan loves the quarterback who should shoot up to the first round.
Speaking of quarterbacks, Jimmer say, the owner of the Indianapolis Colts that all options are on the table for the Colts is here at the quarterback position.
This comes from Michael McClinton of the score.
Indianapolis Colts will enter the off season with plenty of options at quarterback.
The cold could continue on with Jacoby Burst set, who has one year remaining on a contract.
They could use the number 13 pick in April's draft for a new quarterback.
Or they could go out and find a new passer via free agency.
All options are open and on the table, team owner Jim Mercy said on Saturday, according to NFL dot com Adam Maia.
I've never quite I've never quite been any year where, where this is so unusual, he continued.
General manager Chris Ballard and head coach Fant Reich and I have already talked about this.
And man, we are really open minded.
The Colts finished seven and nine in 2019 after Lux, abrupt after Lux abrupt retirement during the preseason percent, took over under center and started a full season for only the second time in his four year career.
Earthday expressed faith in percent and said he needs more time to develop.
Multiple scenarios present themselves for Indianapolis, including any of Tom Brady, Philip Rivers or a top rated quarterback in this year's draft suiting up for the Colts and 2020 quote.
There's a lot of ways that this thing could turn, but right now Jacoby is the starter.
Now we do got some trade rumors going on around the NFL right now.
And apparently the New England Patriots and the Jacksonville Jaguars are trying to explore a trade for the tight end of the Baltimore Ravens.
Hate and Hearst.
This comes from Christopher Mason, a Mass live.
The Patriots may not wanna wait until free agency to upgrade at the tight end position, according to The Florida Times Union, is Eugene Fernet.
The Jaguars and Patriots are both exploring a predraft trade for Ravens tight end Hate and Hearst Fernet reports whether it happens, it will depend on what draft capital teams are willing to part with.
Baltimore Ravens tight end Hate in hers had 81 runs after taking it pass from quarterback Lamar Jackson 61 yards for a touchdown during the second half on NFL game against the Buffalo Bills on September the eighth, according to The Florida Times.
A first round pick in 2018 Hearst has Bean stuck behind Mark Andrews on the Ravens depth chart, catching 30 balls for 349 yards.
Last season, he actually began his career in sports as a baseball player, logging two years of the Pirates minor leaguer before opting for football and enrolling at the University of South Carolina.
New England certainly has a need.
A tight end, as they were woefully unproductive at replacing Rob Gronkowski is production addressing it via trade? Makes sense Is this year's draft count class isn't particularly strong in this position, there might not be a first rounder taken.
Bill Bill cheque certainly has plenty of draft capital. The part with two.
The Patriots are projected to have 12 picks in the 2020 NFL draft, including four in the 1st 3 rounds.
If they want to make a deal with the Ravens, they've got the pieces.
Speaking of the draft, speaking of the combine, speaking of good players, it's been reported today that Chase Young will not be taken part of the combine drills.
This come from Jack Brown.
Former Ohio State pass rusher Chase Young plans to skip work out drills at the 2020 NFL scouting combine, sources have told Ian Rapoport of the NFL network.
The consensus is top defensive prospect in the class will reportedly take part in interviews and medicals at the event, which started Sunday.
In ends March 2nd, Young will also participate in position drills at Ohio State Pro Day. March 25th.
ESPN is Adam Schefter.
The six foot 5 £265 defensive end was expected to be among the most impressive athletes at the combine, but the consensus talked three pick may not mitigate risk ahead of the draft.
Young broke the Buckeye single season sack record in 2019 with 16 and 1/2 during his junior year scores.
Latest mock draft has the Washington Redskin selecting the past rusher with the number two pick.
Washington loves those Ohio State boys.
I love those Ohio State boys.
Let's see what they do.
And this was one that kind of surprised me.
It's not very often that thing's kind of really get away with us.
But there's a report that the NFL reinstated perfect from a suspension already in January, and this comes from Jack Brown of the score.
The NFL quietly reinstated Vontaze Burfict in January after suspending him for the majority of the 2019 season.
This is according to Tom Palast, Rio of the NFL Network Perfect was banned for a helmet to helmet hit on Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle on Week four, the latest in a long line of a legal plays by the then Oakland Raiders linebacker.
The former Cincinnati standouts is set to become an unrestricted free agent in a serious about changing his plane style in order to make a comeback, according to his agent, Peter Shaffer.
Perfect blasted Roger Goodell in November in his first public comments about his band, calling the commissioner a total blank for his handling of the veteran suspension.
The 29 year olds 12 game band constituted the longest panel punishment for an on field act in NFL history.

When you got out, when your dino, when you deal with these winters that we deal with up here and get bang with snow and wind and all that kind of stuff, As soon as you start to get a little bit of sunshine, you start getting a little bit of baseball going.

My brand new debut, the bullpen report, was going on.
Everybody, It's your boy, Ray.
And welcome to my little show called The Bullpen Report presented by DP and Sports Talk Live on SportsCastr, the Boston Red Sox have claimed right handed pitcher films.
Valdas off of waivers, and they've placed Justin Pedroia on the 60 day d l The New York Yankees Aaron Judge is ready to move on from the Houston Astros cheating scandal.
Mookie Betts is bringing a lot of high expectations into his debut with the L A Dodgers.
And I will tell you all about that and more because here on DP and we like baseball, we like baseball season and everything that goes with it.
Welcome everybody to the first episode of the bullpen report.
Live here on SportsCastr.
This is not like the gridiron rant that's more of an over opinionated show with news mixed in there.
The purpose of this show is to keep you up to date with everything that's going on in the world of professional baseball.
So on Sunday, the Boston Red Sox, they clean right handed pitcher films.
Valdez offer waivers from the Seattle Mariners to make room for the 28 year old.
The Red Sox have placed second ba*****t Dustin Pedroia on the 60 60 day D'oh! Valdas was 28 years old, had recently been designated for assignment by Seattle, the Dominican writing, made his major league debut with the Rangers in 2019 posting a 3.
94 e r A and striking out 18 batters and 16 relief innings.
Well, Dad's word primarily as a starter in the minors in each of his last two seasons, making 33 starts in the Nationals and Ranger system.
Dustin Pedroia CE still hasn't reported to spring training after having a setback in his rehab for a knee injury.
The move to the 60 day ay ay else not the only more ill is largely a procedural move, but means Pedroia will be unavailable to the Red Sox for the 1st 2 months of the regular season.
Players on the 60 day injured Let's do not count against the Boston's 40 man roster now the New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge.
He kind of sounded off on the Houston Astros in their cheating scandal earlier this week and just a little tip, and he just said, quote, I just don't think it holds any value to me.
You cheated and you didn't earn it.
That's how I feel.
It just wasn't earned.
End quote judges, of course, echoing what a lot of players and a lot of fans have been saying.
But when judge was asked about it again yesterday, he says that he has nothing to say about the Astros and he informed the media that he said his piece and he's just ready to move on.
Quote. We've turned the page.
I think the biggest thing is a lot of us players, a lot of us.
We had to get it off our chest.
It's been something we've been sitting with all offseason hearing about it all off season.
Now that the guys were able to get it off their chest, it's time for us to move forward and get ready for the season.
This 2020 season is a big one for us, and we're looking forward to it.
Like I said, the biggest thing was getting off our chest.
Now it's time for us to move forward and get to work.
And frankly, as much as it's sickening to me, I just want to move on from the whole Houston Astros cheating situation I've done with it.
But the biggest roster transaction of this off season, by far was when the Boston Red Sox traded Mookie Betts and David Price to the L A Dodgers.
This was one of the biggest Ross removes the Dodgers have made in years, and obviously, it is a foregone conclusion that the expectations for bets in Los Angeles is through the roof.
And that's admit it was strange the first couple of days to be putting on the blue uniform.
But I guess them now. It's just normal.
It's just baseball.
And when Beth was asked if he was feeling any pressure from the expectations, he said, Quote.
Sure, I guess, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register.
I kind of channel it into working hard and making sure to take care of business with myself.
But it's gonna take all of us here to do it.
It's not just gonna take me.
I keep that in mind.
Pressure is pressure.
I don't mind it. I just know how to deal with it.
Bets made his spring debut on Sunday versus Chicago Cubs.
He was met with a huge ovation by the Dodgers faithful when he stepped up for his first at bat.
Now Betts did go over to on the day with an R B.
I going forward bets would like to continue being a leadoff hitter.
That's pretty much what he did for most of his career.
With the Red Sox, he said.
That's kind of been my whole career.
I don't forsee hitting somewhere else If there's a need that I'm always ready, and if it if it happens, I like to hit in one spot.
I don't like moving around.
Um, I think it's a comfort level thing for me.
I can only speak for myself, but, you know, to know every day where I'm going into that line up.
Hey, I still forget to check me alive on SportsCastr every night of the week.

Oakland A's Mike Fires, also known as the Houston Astros whistle blower, was greeted with cheers during his spring training debut.
The Padres have signed second Bay embracement Brian Doors Dozer to him to a minor league deal on Astros affiliate.
Is pulling a partnership with law firm that's suing the Astros over cheating, and we're gonna take a look at the needs of all the teams in the American League.
And finally, we're gonna finish up by exploiting one of the new September rules that baseball really didn't need.
But one that I don't know.
It's gonna change a whole lot of things for everybody.
So, like this comes from the Associated Press.
Oakland Athletics fans Casey Stan Drum was sitting down the right field line watching his team warm up, armed with a small dry erase board, a marker and a statement written written in all caps.
Mike Fires for president It's really been a two naturalists few months for fires, the current A's pictures and former Houston player who helped expose the Astros sign stealing scandal that rocked Major League Baseball.
But on a cool Sunday in Arizona, the 34 year old received a largely warm reception during his first spring training appearance in Messa.
Oakland is going to support us, no matter what Fire sat after throwing two perfect innings against San Francisco.
They've always been there.
It's fun playing in front of these fans and with these guys, it's just a great day for baseball.
Well, Fires is wildly, widely no noun for his connection with the Astro Astro sign stealing.
He's also an accomplished pitcher.
He's thrown two no hitters over nine season, is coming off the best year of his life in the big leagues.
You finished with the 15 and four record with the 3 90 year E.
In a career high 184 2/3 innings in 2019 he's expected to have a prominent role in this year's staff is, well, the right hander had a good start to the spring, retiring all six of the Giants he faced.
When the Oakland line up was announced before the game, he received loud cheers from the A side of the stadium.
The giant side was less enthusiastic, but certainly not hostile.
A good day fears, Fire said.
I was able to throw strikes.
I was able to put balls where I wanted to, and I threw all my pitches.
Baseball's biggest scandal in years began in November after fires detailed to the athletic about how the Astros used electronics to illicitly steal signs from opposing catchers during their World Series season.
In 2017 Fires pitched three seasons for the Astros, including that 2017 year.
The follow for the Astros fires in the entire sport has been even more intense than anticipated.
An MLB investigation led to a season long suspension to the Houston Houston's general manager, Jeff Lawn.
How and Manager A.
Hinch and both were fired by Astros owner Jim Crane.
Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora and New York Mets manager Carlos Beltran were both part of the Astros in 2017.
They were also fired from their perspective respected teams.
No players were disciplined, but the Astros Havers received torrent criticism from stars such as Mike Trout, Cody Ballenger and Aaron Judge and fans all over Houston.
Outfielder Josh Red**** said on Friday that he and other players have even received death threats in response to the scandal.
Fire said he'd also gotten them.
The Astros were met with a hostile reception during spring training opener against the Washington Nationals on Saturday.
Fires avoided the same kind of response on Sunday in front of a friendly crowd.
FIRES Rolls, The whistle blower in the Astros scandal has been met with both praise and criticism.
Commissioner Rob Manfred said on Tuesday that the sport would take every possible step to protect Mike Fires, where at wherever he plays, whether it's in Houston or somewhere else, and added that Mike did the industry a service.
Others have a pencil complimentary.
Former Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz said Fires was looking like a snitch for disclosing the team's cheating scandal on Lee after he had left the team.
Fire said everyone's entitled to their opinion and that he wasn't concerned.
It's all about going out there and playing baseball for everybody, Fire said.
Every team is trying to get back out there, play the game we love and compete.
The rest will take care of itself and eventually that this whole story is going to go away.
That's just the way it happens.
That's the way it goes, and Bob's your uncle on that one.
But the Astros are being a little bit petty, I think, at times, and their affiliate has now pulled seats from a law firm associated with a lawsuit.
So this comes from the athletic and it's Dan Kaplan.
I apologize, Bobby.
Let's corporate history.
Corpus Christi, Texas based law firm has long had a deep connection with the local hooks minor league baseball team, A double A affiliate of the Houston Astros since the ballpark open in 2015 Hillard Martinez Gonzalez started with six seats behind home plate.
He added a suite three years later, and then a total of 11 seats behind home plate and even a sponsor tonight in which the law firm annually buys a T shirt for all in attendance.
Hillard's kids have even thrown out.
The first pitch is Last week, Killers filed lawsuits against the Astros on behalf of season ticket holders who want their money back in the wake of science.
The sign stealing scandal.
Days later, the hooks owned by the Astros notified the law form that it's $45,000 a year.
Partnership with the minor league team was not being renewed.
The email came from West Wiegel, the team's general manager, Hillard said.
So I wrote back.
I said West, So disappointed as I looked at the Hooks organization is family.
What it's been like 20 years.
We've had this relationship.
So, you know, I was extremely affected and offended by the Astros cheating scandal and never once thought it seep down to the hooks.
The litigation is personal to me, given what a represents and how I feel about this kind of thing.
Well, of course, did not reply for comment to the athletic.
Nor did the Astros or the Hooks Communications executive shocking.
H M G filed lawsuits and Harris County Court on behalf of season ticket holders Roger Kahn Chairs and Kenneth Young.
There was also 1/3 lawsuit filed by two other law firms on behalf of season ticket holders.
That case, Adam Wallick, Versi, Houston Nationals LLC on Thursday added three new names and three new plaintiffs, including the first corporation, CH A incorporated of Lake Jackson, Texas.
Hillard has a familiarity with suing baseball.
He's several years ago suit all n b A teams to extend protective netting.
I did it because I had seen enough of it at the Hook Stadium, Hillard said.
I've seen how many kids line up along the foul lines.
I've seen old people who couldn't react in time, even if they were paying attention.
So they knew me and they kind of knew who I was and what my view on life Waas And then this happened, and I felt in a very similar way on a way more aggravated because it was so intentional and they were just giving and they were just giving not even a hat in hand, apology and wanting to move on and keep the fruits.
Hillard said that he believes the Ostro's should hand back to 2017 World Series trophy.
As for the ticket case, Hillard expects the Astros to respond in court papers and roughly two weeks for the team to take positions.
The case should be sent to arbitration and also that the ticket holders were promised baseball games, and that's what they got.
So no refunds or do.
When H M G had tickets for the Hooks, Hillard brought his family clients and donated 40% of the tickets of charity.
He waxes poetic about the game in the Hooks.
It's truly an old fashioned stadium built recently, so you're overlooking the Harbour Bridge and the ship's going through the shipping channel, he said.
And it's a real knights.
The bay's right, and it was really nice scene, nice baseball and everything.
This cheating scandal is not so.
It's not surprising that the lawsuit he filed do not start with the following, but baseball is America's game is American as apple pie, and it's not just a game.
I mean, I get why the Astros wouldn't want to be affiliated with lawsuit or the law firm who's suing him.
And obviously, it's not the law firm.
He's doing it on behalf of his clients.
But at the same time, I mean, when you've got a company that's supporting a double A affiliate, I don't know, man.
I mean, I think you're being a little bit patty taking away your stuff.
I think you're being a little bit petty.
Whatever you know, I can't stop for.
The team wants to deal, but it is what it is, all right.
So the Padres, according to Jason Wilson, to the score, have signed those heir to a minor league contract.
The Sanyo Papa San Diego Padres have agreed to a minor league contract with second baseman Brian Dozier, sources told MLB insider Robert Murray.
If he makes the team, Dozier will earn a base salary of 2.2 million.
Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
The contract also contains various incentives.
The deal will become official once he passes his physical, which he's expected to undergo with the Padres facility later Sunday, according to Fire Wells Bill Center.
He's been to the World Series the last two years in a row, Padres manager J.
According to Jay's A J.
Castle Vellapan will be dot com.
He's got a really good track record, a very good resume.
He's playing on a lot of winning teams, especially the last couple of years.
We're excited to get him around and 135 games with the Washington Nationals last season, he had for 2 38 3 44 30 with 20 home runs and All Star in 2015 he emerges one of baseball's top sluggers of the Keystone through parts of his seven seasons with Minnesota from 2013 to 2017 he hit 145 home runs, the most amongst all second ba*****t during that stretch in the 13th.
He also stole 81 basis.
But Speed hasn't been a big part of his game in recent seasons.
Entering spring training, Um, Jurickson Pro for was penciled in as the Padres leading candidate to open up is the team's primary second ba*****t after Ian Kinsler retired and Louis Serious was traded to Milwaukee.
If pro first struggles, the door may open for doors there to supplement him on the depth charts.
And now we want to do is want to break down each A L team's biggest questions during spring training, and this comes from the score.
It actually comes from the man at the score.
If I can find it, I went too far, so I can't find it.
Sorry, because from Brandon, while it says the spring training, on its way for all clubs here, is looking at the biggest questions tied to each American League team heading into the season.
So for the Baltimore Ravens is do Davis and Cobb have anything left? Chris Davis and Alex Cobb entered the season making a combined $35.
1 million occupying almost half of Baltimore's 2020 payroll.
While the Orioles know that there's plenty more losing to come, the club would like some production from its two most veteran players.
David Davis had just 12 home runs in 105 games last season and looks almost finished with three years and $69 million left on his deal.
Cobb, meanwhile, was limited to only three starts due to injury in 2019 and his old 29 million over the next two years.
Well, Davis contract is likely a sunken money.
The team's hopes that Cobb can pitch well enough to return value is a pre deadline swap.
Boston Red Sox There are too many questions where to start after a nightmare off season that saw the team's best player and beloved manager leave, the Red Sox have more questions than answers.
Ron Roenicke is the Inter manager as they await potential punishment.
Fall in an investigation of the 2018 world Siris winning team.
The rotation is remarkably thin following David Price's departure, leaving no number five starter.
While there are lingering durability concerns around Chris Sale, Eduardo Rodriguez and Nathan Eovaldi, the offense should still score plenty.
As the addition of Alex Vertigo helps mitigate some of the loss of Mookie Betts.
The Vertigo is going to start this season on the injured list with a back injury.
There remains an enormous amount of talent on this team, but things could go south in a hurry.
The Chicago White sites socks, the Chicago White Sox are Elroy and Robert ready to be stars.
The Rebuild is over.
While the White Sox made considerable financial commitments by bringing in key players from outside the organization, a lot of their successful hinge on Young L fielders Alloy Jim and AS and Louise Roberts.
Both players have enormous power and elite potential Jiminez at 31 home runs and 122 games during his rookie season, well, Robert crushed 32 1 22 in Triple A, there will be growing pains, as neither player has yet to turn 24 years old.
But if the to live up to their potential, the White Sox could possess one of baseball's most potent offenses, the Cleveland Indians, which Jose Ramirez shows up.
The Indians missed the postseason for the first time in four years in 2019 and part of the reason for that was that the offense ranked 15th in the majors and runs an O. P S.
One of the key contributors to an unspent tacular lineup was Jose Ramirez.
The two time A L N V P finalists hit just 2 55 It's like 4 79 in 129 games that they're slashing 2 to 73 87 5 22 and 2018 since 2017 Ramirez says.
Watch his average fall 0.
63 points in his O PS drop 00.
If Cleveland wishes to keep pace with the Twins and the White Sox, its former star will need to return for the Detroit Tigers.
It's which starters can take the next step.
Mathew Boyd, Spencer Terrible and Daniel Norris all showed flashes last season and this year will dictate of the club's views.
Reviews any of these starters as part of their long term future.
Boy could be a frontline arm, but he's 29 the Tigers could deal him if he gets off to a nice start.
Norris has struggled to stay healthy, though he's coming off a career high 1 44 and 1/3 innings pitched.
It is only 26 Turbos 27 posted a 2 78 e r A.
Over his 1st 14 starts in 2019 before battling control issues.
With some young pitchers coming, it's approve a year for these three arms for the Houston Astros.
How do they shut out the noise? It's only the beginning of the season, and it's on Lee going to get worse When Mike Trout hates you, you know you've done something pad and the Astros? They're gonna have to continue answering questions regarding the 2017 signs scandal that cost their manager and general manager their jobs.
Veteran skipper Dusty Baker was brought in to try and navigate the ship through what's been a black eye for the organization and the league the Astros will need to show remorse and try to let their players on the field dictate how they move forward.
Make no mistake, though, this will follow them all season long for the Kansas City Royals.
Is a breakout year coming from on Desi.
There's plenty of reason to be excited about adult Roberto Mondesi game, however.
The Royals have to hope he isn't the next Billy Hamilton.
He showed off his impressive speed by stealing 43 bases, collecting 10 triples during an injury shortened 2019 campaign.
That's all I miss 60 games.
Imagine what he could have done if he slashed better than 2 63 to 21 to 91.
Sorry for 24 entering his age 24 season with 249 MLB games now under his belt, the hope is is that he's on the verge of a breakout and isn't just another speedster for the Los Angeles Angels.
Is the pitching good enough? Angels starters were worth an MLB worst 3.
3 war last season, leaving the acquisitions of Julio Tehran with 3 81 e.
2019 and Dylan Bundy of a 4 79 E.
R. A. Much to be desired.
Bhutanese returned from Tommy John will give the rotation of Boost, though he isn't expected to start until May and will likely only throw once a week.
Anthony Rendon of Mike Trout give the team an incredible 12 punch, though there's an argument that money for rent in may have been better spent on Garrett Cole or combination of Gin Rue or Zack Wheeler, Dallas Cook Cycle or Madison Bumgarner, the Minnesota Twins did they do enough to address their rotation? Minnesota's front office complimented, complimented on already elite offense by adding Josh Donaldson.
So scoring run shouldn't be an issue.
However, the rotation, while improve, still have some question marks.
Rich Hill and Michael Pineda well, miss significant time due to injury and suspension, respectively.
Homer Bailey posted a 4 75 e R A last season, and Kenta Medea, or made a story will need to adjust to a new league and become a full time starter again.
They're certainly talent and more depth, but this team that should be built for success in the postseason, not just the regular season.
The New York Yankees is Garrett Cole, ready for the Big Apple.
There's no reason to think that Cold can't handle New York, but the bright lights and high expectations aren't for everyone.
Combining teams desperate hope for a World Series title with the record $324 million contract.
And there's a lot riding on Cools arm.
The Yankees have experienced mixed results with their biggest free agent signings.
Alex Rodriguez had his highs and very lows.
Marta, Sheriff CC Sabathia were very valuable pieces that battled numerous injuries.
Jacoby Ellsbury Michael Down is arguably the worst contract ever signed in the Bronx.
And then there's on Carlos Stanton, who will not.
Technically, who, while not technically a free agency, was basically acquired as a salary dump.
Is that generally been viewed as a disappointment for the Oakland A's Are Puck and Liz.
Are you ready? The A's let 59 starts from the 2019 rotation depart via free agency after often not to resign Brett Anderson, Homer Bailey, Marco Estrada and Tanner Roark.
Instead, the front office will hope youngsters Jesus Lazaro A J Poke Puck are ready to contribute at the major league level.
Zara was electric out of the bullpen after debuting in September, allowing two runs over 12 innings while striking out 16.
The concern is that he's only 21 has just thrown 222 107 and 2/3 innings across the miners in major league levels.
Part comes out with a similar concerns have been only thrown 36 2/3 innings for the last two years after undergoing Tommy John surgery. 2018.
My God is it's almost over this hack.
Kan Kikuchi Bounce back after disasters. 2019.
You'll see ****roaches.
Major league season proved to be a significant learning curve.
The teams highest paid pitcher posted a 5 46 e R A over 32 starts in 2019 allowing multiple home runs and 37.
5% of those outings.
He spent the offseason working on his mechanics, and the Mariners will hope that it pays off, considering that the financial commitment he owed his $16 million in 2020 and $17 million in 2021 before a number of team options from 2022 to 2025 can be triggered, there's plenty at stake for both the team and the player this season for the Tampa Bay Rays.
Where does everyone play? The Rays death puts them in an unenviable position.
They have no shortage of platoon options after bringing in Jose Martinez, Hunter Renfroe, Yoshi to Sango and Manny Mar got Margo making Tampa a really, really annoyance to match up against.
The only potential issue is finding adequate playing time for everyone.
The outfield is particularly crowded, but these are good problems.
Tohave for the Texas Rangers.
Can Kluver still be clue bought? No pitcher returning from injury outside of a TAANI has the potential to swing it team's fortunes like Corey Glover, if he's healthy and able to return to the former Cy Young caliber level than the Rangers have a realistic shot at a wild card spot, they didn't really address their offenses.
Winners of the team's rotation will have to be its strength.
Cooper is entering his age 34 season, having only thrown 35 2/3 innings last year due to a fractured arm and abdominal tightness.
If he struggles or is unable to stay healthy, Texas will have lost its $17.
5 million gamble and will likely decline is $18 million team option in 2021 and lastly for the Toronto Bluejays.
Will Lads offseason work Pay off? All the talk around Blue Jays camp last season was Vladimir Guerrero Jr was going to be with the team come opening day.
Now the focus is, Is he done enough over the winter to set himself up to reach his full potential? Guerrero was adamantly out of shape and ran out of steam during what should have been considered a solid rookie season that failed to live up to the lofty expectations.
After spending the winter winter working on his conditioning, it will be up to Guerrero to show that he has built to withstand the workload of a full season and is capable of being an everyday third ba*****t.
If he is, it will go a long way in Toronto's pursuit for a playoff spot in 2020.
Huh? That was a lot, man.
Jesus, I did not think that through.
I'm gonna be honest.
I did not unlike dizzy.
Now I've expelled so much air trying to get through that article.
Thank you so much.
Everybody doing the Amanda the first Ah bullpen report like I'm still working out the kinks on this.
