Welcome in, guys.
Thanks for joining me in tonight.
Um, my name is Steven Tato, and I am the host of the fantasy coaches Odd cats and from a member of Unwrap Sports Network.
Glad to be part of both these organizations that do a lot of fun.
Interesting, informed of things of all sports and course.
Advance coaches, mostly Venice football.
So we do a lot of fun things on a website.
Definitely should go check out at some point.
The Because you got the fantasy coaches dot com.
We have offseason rankings.
We have tons of articles coming out there, especially.
A 2019 rookie redraft was a lot of fun to do.
And now we got episodes and other things on their Well, so definitely go check that out.
Also, if you know, you guys just want you fancy championships and you're looking to get some metal for your you know, shelves or, you know, your trophy case or anything like that.
Uh, we just partnered up with trophy smack.
Uh, if you, you know, use our promo code coaches on and you get a trophy or maybe a championship belt.
You get a free drink every championship ring out of that.
So take advantage that you could find that also on a website under affiliations.
So I think we're hearing about that.
But we're here to talk about my Year, two tiered running backs and fantasy, and it's almost every running back you can possibly think of that came out of last year's draft, either.
You know, the you know, the draft.
So you know who was undrafted rookie? Who could make some noise. That's this year.
There's a bunch of least, Well, we won't go into too much detail about because Golden likely they really won't be that fantasy relevant.
Like, you know, that's the Williams out of Green Bay.
You know Brodney Anderson out of, you know, Cincinnati.
These guys don't really have a huge shot of all of taking that next step to be somewhat fantasy relevant for us going into 2020 at this moment, unless things toward a change in the running back situation, where to be a little different than what they are and those scenarios there.
But there's a whole bunch of guys talk about, and it's it's out of a Tier five system.
Thanks for joining and stuff.
Thanks for joining.
It's a Tier Five system I have picked up on this, you know? And today we're gonna be going over tears.
I'm gonna start from the bottom and work my way up tomorrow night.
I will have the rest of tears on here for you guys will definitely come back to check that out as well.
But you know, we'll get right into it tonight.
Um, and we're starting with your five, and your five is the did not play injured here.
And these guys is to invest here that I have right here.
These guys have taught a talent we've seen in their college over time.
And the 1st 1 I want to talk about here is Bryce Love of the Washington Redskins.
Now, things got a little different just recently after I wrote this article.
And you know Adrian Peterson, we already know is coming back, you know, next season and will be on team.
They picked up his, you know, player option for year two for 2020 Herbie back on the team.
But again, Adrian Peterson, his Hall of fame as he is.
You know, he is a bit up there in age.
So you have the whole that he could maybe hold that workload.
Maybe he can if you know.
And that kind of brings in where I talk about Bryce Love as an injury or 2019 2019.
And, you know, he was a great college athlete in Stanford.
You know, he had only two over 2000 Russian guards and 28 believe was 2018 where he probably should have came out, and he probably would have been the top, you know, second round pick, maybe even a body in the first round.
Hey, was just so dominant back then.
I look very good.
Unfortunately, laid season injury, too, you know, touring his e z.
L definitely messed them up a bit.
Hell, J Thanks for the thanks.
For the follow. Appreciate that.
Kind of messed up this career going for because he had that late season injury and then 2019 28 team did, and unfortunately, injured again.
So come and drop this stock when he came out of the draft.
And you know, he's part of this Redskins team who has an opportunity to take advantage of going into a junior.
He could be someone who could jump in that year.
That Tier two or three option going into at the end of the 2020 season because of his talent because of the situation isn't like we said.
Adrian Peterson is on the team again.
He is 34 35 years old, going into the season right now, so you know he's up there in age again.
He is talented, you know Adrian Peterson.
But I think he's getting close to being on this last leg.
I just don't think he's gonna be maintain.
You know, someone who had been a rush almost close to 300 yards.
I don't think that's happy.
That kind of were priceless, enters in at that point, and he has tremendous talent.
And if he could just get some work on this offseason's show that he's healthy and show some rhythm in this offense, I don't see why he can jump up and make that jump because the only guy on the roster austerity skies and various guys was one of most six no good backs and football last year, when he was on the field.
But Darius, guys, as good as he is, what, as talented as he is as well, he is miss 27 games and over the last two seasons.
Now, you know you really don't want that from your star running back.
So you know, the Russians are gonna go into, you know, with the new coaching staff right now.
And everyone's up for grabs off love and kind of show that he is ready to go and ready to work hard and prove himself.
You know, Ron Rivera could give him the opportunity to, you know, be fantasy relevant for us in 2020 and kind of make an impact on his career and kind of turned around what he kind of fell off from.
So first love is in my bottom tier right now.
You know he's in that.
Do I hear five and we go over to the next guy Now? Next, guys, another individual who this is not an injury situation.
This is a morbid did not play situation than sorry guys didn't mean a company so close.
Um, and that's Damian Harris out of New England Patriots.
Former Alabama guy coming over last year and third round.
Believe the draft.
And he kind of let a rusher of redshirt freshman season with the Patriots barely on the field.
I think he played all the tense at the plate.
10 satchel season.
Very, very, very was on the field.
But no, he was coming off three straight seasons in Alabama with over 1000 for all purpose yards for three straight seasons while he was there.
So he had talent.
They know the Patriots took him an earlier ground, and even after they drafted so Michelle in the first round two years, the year ago Prior that So they like what he was able to do.
They like what they saw from and what you didn't play that year.
And, you know, we had to do with the situation in hand.
You know, Belle Bellatrix only gonna trust you so much.
And if you're a rookie, more than likely you're not gonna get trusted early on.
Hey hasn't tremendous talent, but now he had a deal with a lot of crowded backfield situations and Sony Michelle James White, Rex Burkhead at Devlin.
I mean bright and bold, and I mean all these guys on the roster than Devin Harris is sitting there like okay, because, um, but, you know, he could have an opportunity in 2020.
There's no reason why you couldn't I mean, you know, Bill Bill check.
Give everyone a fair shot at the running back spot.
And if he can show his town that he had in Alabama and the reason why they draft him so early, there's no reason like Sony Michelle has not proved was that he could be a franchise back on a consistent basis.
James White is that, you know, passing threat.
Rex Burkhead is that utility player for an emboldened is just a just a guy had Devlin's a tank who steals touchdowns, but, you know, giving Harris a bigger back.
I mean, if he could show that he's his birth in this offense, he could be another guy.
We're talking about 2022.
So, um, I like what his talent is, but again, it's really hard to tell where is value is moving forward because he has that opportunity.
Unlike other guys, like I talked about early on in the show, like a Romney Anderson, no like Dexter Williams.
He acted as a thanks for joining.
He actually has an opportunity you couldn't know, really Go and take advantage of, uh, take advantage of the opportunity if given the right opportunity, the backfield.
So they mean Harris will be my last, my Tier five of the running back.
So then we go over to the next year.
Guys on this year's a little more people, not just two.
There's more people about this one, and this here is to your four and is known as the backups.
Basically, this tear our players, who are more than likely gonna be a backup this season.
There's very few situations where that changes unless an injury really occurs where? Okay, these guys gonna be summers now, But in just a normal season, if everyone's healthy, the backups there, the back of the scene and there's nothing more to say about them. They have.
They have, they have potential.
All have their own different kinds of potential of fantasy relevance.
But their backups and just basically were to see this season and how the off season is probably gonna work crap work itself out.
They're gonna be the backups of the steam.
So we're going to start with the last player on that list.
And it's Ty Johnson.
Detroit Lions running back.
Uh, hi, Johnson.
You know, Cata Shop as his rookie season you carry on.
Johnson went down for another time this season on the since season ending injury, owls and season, and he actually came back later in the year.
But he was out for extended period of time, which led to guys like Ty Johnson deejay McKissick ce in gross carbo.
To take advantage of that and no tie, Johnson showed a couple flashes.
Ah, while carry on.
Johnson was kind of on the field at the same time it's him, but unfortunately, flashes really never got himself fantasy relevant plaster.
He just He wasn't very good endurance for care.
Carrie was very minimal at best compared to others on this team.
And you just never saw the playing time.
You should deserve maybe.
But you know, that kind of let things open for, like a guy like both scar Bauer to kind of really take advantage of it.
He didn't know it won't find season.
Both Carver was like action.
20 carries a game because he was the most effective back in this backyard.
Anti Johnson wasn't again.
Both Scarborough and McKissick unbelievable.
Both free agents going into this off season.
Now, more than likely carry on. Johnson will be starter.
Maybe they bring someone else in as a insurance policy, but time jobs in the murky.
He's gonna be under their contract least another season.
So as long he doesn't do anything dumb from now until until the very last season, he's probably to be a backup this year and get very injury.
He euro see playing time, and if not, there will be a backup.
And that's really what he's gonna be in 2020 for us and fantasy well into the next group.
Now, all next person, this one I kind of combined, and it's the guy's out of Miami guys.
Myles, Gaskin and Patrik play art both rookies in Miami this past season, but the Dolphins gonna need to running back on 10.20.
It's it's a pretty clear thing right now.
You either freeze and see the draft, but if they don't bring anyone in, then these guys could have an opportunity.
But more than likely everything I'm hearing my Museo draft someone they're gonna pick up where they spend their money.
They have a lot of money to spend.
So spend on a running back now and then save it on the young quarterback later.
So again, I'm projecting both these guys the backups.
Gaskins may not make the team after this, but he has a hair child as well.
I mean, this is a guy in college who was stud at Washington, averaging 236 carries, 1300 yards and 14 touchdowns each season's over four years.
I mean, he was a dominant force for four seasons.
Granted, he's got a lot of trend of those tires now.
He's going to be a little, you know, banged up is not.
It's not. It's easy.
Thio will take those hits because he's not.
That's fresh anymore.
He He's a guy with a great brand into the ground in Washington, and, you know, he could have a couple of these in games here in Miami.
Maybe he could provide some kind of a somewhat of a solid floor if given up to me.
Like I said, like I said, Miami's gonna drop someone, so I don't expect these guys I don't expect him to be at the start of going to 24.
He's going to be a backup of anything or the third string guy on.
And then they got Patrick Lee are this guy showed some fantasy spark last year, especially PPR league.
So in the second half, he had 17 receptions over the final seven games.
Doesn't sound as crazy as what as well, but he did score 10 fancy points two times in that span.
Then he may be looked as the team's kind of passing back with some minimal upside on next year.
It really depends with a draft and that they don't bring anyone else in.
But if you know they bring him one on the guy and leave these two guys to be the backups, unless it's an injury happens, these guys aren't gonna give you that much fantasy relevance.
They're not gonna give more playing time like two or three kind of guys are.
We'll talk about them later, but, um, the moment backups and that's really what they are for your fantasy moving forward and then next on the list.
Here we have Darwin Thompson, they're on.
Thompson's an interesting guy because, you know, everyone was really high on and going into the 2020 season there, look out there and Bob said he's gonna take advantage of this fact this shaky backfield and take the rock.
Just run with Fortune.
I didn't really happen.
They brought over LaShawn McCoy At some point, they have the weapons that they have a decent backyard.
It's not a superstar backfield, but they have a strong, decent back building.
Uh, you know, Thompson could get lost in that shuffle, calling it the point.
More than likely Damian Williams will be the from now started going into 2020.
Joe McCoy will be gone and maybe retired or somewhere else.
But everyone was gonna be started extra, and we saw what Damian Rooms was able to do in the playoffs once again in the Super Bowl of just a dominant performance.
But that's in a suitable living.
Williams during the season, just doesn't get the job done for us and fantasy consistently.
He couldn't consist.
He hasn't played a 16 game season yet, overall, and it seems like they kind of like, you know, we're gonna kind of just makes him in here in here, and then I'm done.
Damon Williams is a star, a stud and fantasy football in the playoffs, but doesn't help us during the regular season, and you know we'll be making a lot of good points or going.
Williams darling Thompson.
Yes, I am political.
It's a good point for Darren, Star on, Top said.
But there's other guys.
They're more than that.
Could be a good chance they draft someone else.
I know they just drafted Thompson this past season, but they could drive someone else.
You just don't know.
What is it with You know, the dominoes will fall and Darryl Williams will be back again next year, too.
And I think Darryl Williams did that. Operated.
It's a running back on this on this team because, yes, everyone ******* Darwin Thompson was the backup.
Super evolved on the playoff games, while My Sharma quite must have been hurt or are they just did it just didn't expect Machel McCoy be would have produced anything going forward at that point.
I think they kind of already seen with a scene out of him and it wasn't it wasn't good, but they're Williams.
He's been a car over the last two seasons.
Now I know Rosie, Baseball lover. Thanks for joining.
You know, he's been a guy over the last two seasons who's given opportunity and given the workload, Darryl Williams could get the job done, Guys.
I mean, he's been very productive over his two seasons now in Kansas City, and I think it Darryl Williams.
Darryl Williams was in the I know, not injured last year.
He would have been the backup in Darwin opposite would have been probably inactive or third Street guy on this team.
So I think you know everyone talking about the Super Bowl back of life.
You know, I think it's just it's just a little garbage.
You know, I just don't house and has talent home.
Don't get me wrong, but I just don't see him producing on a consistent basis.
And I just you know, if they really liked him that much, they would've got him more involved.
You saw these running back last season this past season with, you know, Evan Singletary, Mile Sanders, these guys breaking out.
But Darwin Thompson never saw that opportunity.
Get the rock at all in the season, and I just don't see why I couldn't continue that success moving forward.
I think he's He's gonna be a backup to Damon Williams. Sterile Williams.
I think you should be the third string guy.
Still, who has that small chance of having that, you know, passing ability or, you know, big break making a long run at some point in the year.
But Darwin Thompson is a backup move before guys at this point, unless other things things switch where you know Damon Williams out or something like that.
You can't predict injuries.
You can't do. You really just can't.
But we're going over to our next guy now, and it's Atlanta Falcons rookie quadrille Oleson.
He's another guy who he hasn't up.
He does have a slight opportunity to also become the crazy started at some point, But at this time, unless things change right now, he's a backup.
You have developed a Freeman there, though.
The rumors they're gonna release him, but you just don't know until it really happens, and maybe they bring in someone else.
Maybe they go out and get a belt on Gordon, Can you drink and throw a younger guy back there, or guy was more productive to stay healthy over the last couple seasons now and ride with him.
Then they have a team to make it to the next level, and they just need that running back.
So you just don't know if they even if they release Freeman, you just don't know what's gonna happen.
And right now the backyard consist of You know, Friedman.
They have Ito Smith back there because Brian Hill's a free agent on and then also will be back there.
And Olson, you know, he had some fantasy relevant times.
He had, uh, four touchdowns in the season when you frequent was kind of out of line up.
Hill was kind of banged up to.
And Olsen, you know, he had success at his years in college, a pit, but he strictly behind James Connor of the years James Connor could play Olsen.
Rookie year great James Caan nicknames in the pictures.
Two seasons is back up.
Olson, comes in, has a great season, so he has a he has talent all, and maybe if operations wants for agency clears up, he could be someone who jumps back and that jumps into a 23 situational.
He gets more playing time going into next year, but for right now is as it goes.
You know he's going to be probably buried on the depth chart and he's gonna be a backup guys and there's really nothing more to say balls.
And I mean, he is a popular guy and he got in the opportunity.
Maybe he does something with it, but for right now, he is a backup going into next season.
Guys, all right, almost done.
Get two more to go and we're done for the night guys, all right, and now we're in Jacksonville's work.
Well, Armstead and this guy again, this getting closer and closer to guys who could provide fantasy value.
But right now, the way their situation is, they just don't have this opportunity.
And maybe going into 2021 season, we're talking about arms said, is a guy who's an RV to going into next year with letter from that being in his contract season and not really knowing, you know whether or not the Jacks are gonna resign him, and if they don't assign him and could be going that way right now, you know, they're gonna probably use a little Fernet as much as possible going into 2020.
So what could leave Armstead within our opportunity to really, um, see success? I mean, but no begin.
Runner for Net is an inter prom guy has been shown in.
So maybe that have hits an extra arms.
It gets an opportunity.
But, you know, his ambition was lemon it last season due to Ford.
It's just kind of dominating the touches and car gets all seasons.
Um, you know, Week 17 is kind of hard to judge place for him, but he did have no 10 Russian for 33 yards and five catches, 52 yards and a touchdown and licks its week 17.
So you don't really know what kind of competition really playing with but a coleslaw.
Things were drawn and appreciate that.
Guys have you, you know, wanna know things, coleslaw.
There's a lot of things is a good guy.
Um, but going back into, you know, Thio Armstead? No, he hasn't happened.
Soon ended new coaching staff, but not coaching stuff, but often coordinator Jay Gruden and it really depends on If he shows that kind of ability to really like, you know, being more productive on the field because J.
Crew and likes to use that work.
Horseback, You seen it through those days in Washington.
You know, he kind of used, you know, Alfred Morris is is just a rock, the range of Carrie kind of guy.
And under Fernet could produce 200 carry seasons.
No injuries could change that.
But then after that could carry 300 workload.
And and it doesn't bowled well for arm set Unless she can show Jay Root in that.
You know, I gotta be on the field more.
Doug Marone has gotta be on the field more, but, you know, he has that talent.
And But as for fantasy purposes, you know, he's not gonna be someone you're really gonna draft.
And it's more of a handcuffed to the limit for net.
And unless things change right now, I mean are listed strictly, just a backup right now for you and fantasy and will your last of the Tier four backups and it's Tony Pollard Cowboys guy.
You guys, they're cowboys fan, and you have to be, like in Tony palate a little bit after his 40 year me.
He's a different guy because I think if he's on a different team, Tony Pal, it could be a solid player in fancy football.
But fortunately, he's behind one of the better backs in the league and Ezekiel Elliott.
And when you have a secure Ali, it your backup doesn't play as much, unfortunately, and he was never able to cross that 40% snap range.
But it doesn't really mean he was an effective last year.
And like I said, he had a pretty decent season for a backup behind Elliott.
I mean, he had two games over 100 rushing yards, you know, he had 86 carries on the season for 5.
7, ah yard for carrying his rookie see work a year.
And you know, he really only got the Rock when no, the Cowboys were killing it.
Or maybe behind games that really behind games.
And when he know when they were heading games, he got in there and, you know, had 10 carries.
But he he ran hard on this 10 carries and kind of, you know, showed some some real talent there in some real effectiveness in the running game, so there could be an opportunity that, you know, maybe 20 Pollitt gets more work mixture.
I don't see it right now.
Maybe, you know, Mike McCarthy kind of pulls and Aaron Jones from all lambs, things he'd be rolled, not bright to do those kind of things.
But, you know, 20 Pollitt is a talented guy.
And but unfortunately, unless you know, burying injury jig jig, Elliot got Zeke Elliot.
Or, you know, maybe Paula gets more evolved in the passing game.
Um, he's nothing more than a backup in a strong handcuffed to **** Elliot.
If you know, something would happen to seek you Elliot next season.
So Tony Politi is the last of my here for backups. Guys.
Um, but that is the end.
The episode tonight, guys.
So end of my life dream tonight, guys.
I will be back tomorrow night to finish off the rest of my tier one tier two, tier three, and I'll quickly just explain what they are.
Tier three are running back to could see more playing time to.
To is a lowland running back.
And we have three people who are strong or be too.
So maybe you can get some before next episode, but it will be on tomorrow night to talk about the second half of my thing.
So I preach you guys listening in tonight, as always, you know, uh, no.
Please go follow the fancy coaches podcasts on Twitter and definitely goes to go follow on, Rob Sports as well on Twitter.
They do a lot of great things over there as well.
You know, if your view of the van, they have a great package on U of C fights and a love that stuff, so I definitely go check them out as well.
So I like you guys listening tonight.
And until next time, take care.
