well, everybody's Adam grits with yard Barker were checking in today to talk with NHL trade.
Deadline is fast approaching will be here Monday afternoon, February 24 3 p.m. Eastern time.
We've already seen a couple of really big trades happened over the past couple of days.
We're gonna talk about those deals today real quick, just to get a sense of what it might do for the Stanley Cup playoff race as well as the playoffs themselves.
One of the biggest trades you seem so far has been the Pittsburgh Penguins acquiring winner Jason Zucker from the Minnesota Wild.
Zucker is a player they have been after for a while now.
They actually had a deal in place for him over the summer when they tried to send Bill Castle in Minnesota.
But Phil Kessel nixed that.
Traded his no trade clause.
Penguin stayed after him.
It finally got him, and so far he has been a great fit on the top line next to Sidney Crosby.
Yuri has three goals in his 1st 4 games with the team.
Hey has been a great replacement for Jake Tensile, who remains out of the lineup, a shoulder injury who makes it such a good fit for the Penguins is not only his style of play, which is a good match from them, but also that he has three years remaining on his contract after this one.
So he's not a rental.
He has a player that is there for the long haul.
He's been a great pickup for them.
They paid a steep price, a top prospect, the first round draft pick.
But it is probably gonna be worth it, given how good's look arisen, how well it fits the team.
That pain was competing with the top spot in metropolitan Division Washington Capitals.
They also made a big trade this week, getting defenseman Brendan Dillon from the San Jose Sharks.
Dylan is a really good fit for what the capital's need right now.
They need a little bit of a steady presence on the blue line and go through a funk a little bit.
They haven't been great defensively.
They're not helping their goaltenders out much.
Dylan is to take a guy that could do that.
He's a rock solid defensive player, not going to give you much offense, but he's still gonna shut teams down defensively.
He's a really good fit for them to give up a couple draft picks for him.
Not that big of a price to pay for a player that could maybe put them over the top in the Eastern Conference.
We go out west, checking on the Vancouver Canucks.
They made a huge trade themselves, getting Tyler toe Foley fromthe Los Angeles Kings.
Little bit of a surprising move because you don't really see that conducts a team is in a position right now to maybe go after a rental the way they did.
But they had a little bit of in need of brought Bester being out with an injury, maybe for the rest of the season.
Plus, the Pacific Division is wide open for the taking.
They have an opportunity there to maybe not only make the playoffs, but go on a little bit of a run.
If things break right for them, the fully might help you might need a change of scenery could flourish in the new system.
We'll see how it goes.
My name is Adam dress.
You check me out over your burger and we'll talk to you soon.
