Hey, everyone's Cory here.
That semi pro us and from unwrapped sports network.
Um, coming back at you guys with another episode of salary cap.
Hell, um, last night Well, last night for me here in Australia and I was early morning for you guys like it is now about the same time.
Yesterday, um, we went over the top five.
Worst positions inside a cap.
And that was the Vikings, the Steelers, the Jags of Falcons and the Saints last yesterday.
So today will be tackling the next five.
As you can see in title who those teams are.
Kind of interesting that, you know, both Super Bowl teams are in this spot, but we're starting with the number 27 team in the NFL, the Chicago Bears.
The Bears have $13 million in cap space, approximately 13.
356 to be more exact.
Um, obviously there, um, leading salary is Khalil Mack at $26 million.
6 million cap hit.
He's not going anywhere.
Everyone knows that Ellen Robinson's at 15 million. He's second.
Leonard Floyd outside linebacker.
He's got no dead money left.
So potentially that they feel like he's not quite up to scratch That could get rid of him, give themselves a little bit more cap flexibility.
Akeem Hicks, D tackle Very good D tackle in and out of being injured the season this past season, 11.
8 million going three million dead cop.
So he could be a potential resign or, you know, restructure their.
Ah, Kyle Fuller is at 11 and 1/2 1,000,000.
He's got 15 million dead cap so that he's not going anywhere.
Ah, Eddie Goldman is that 10.
8? He's got a lot of dead cap left.
Charles Leno left tackle at 10.
2, and he's got a lot of dead.
Capa's Well, Prince Amukamara, Um, he's at 10 million.
He's only got a $1,000,000 in that cap space, so he could definitely be a cap casualty.
So just looking at the Bears.
Ah, they have pressing issues on offense with the quarterback and things like that.
But the defense obviously took a step back from where they were the previous season, but I'm not.
That's I mean, that was always gonna happen, regression to the mean, So just looking at their potential or their actual free agents for 2020 and see if they have any guys that are real big guys are Danny Trevathan, very good inside linebacker.
He's 30 years old, um, around $7 million player last year.
He's on restricted free agent, so we'll see what happens there with him.
He would be, um I think it would be a pretty big loss for this defense if they lost your basin Chase.
Daniel, obviously, about a quarterback at five million.
I think they let him walk.
I think they probably bring in Ah, veteran, you know, Mid French started type to compete with Stravinsky.
Ah ha ha Clinton Dix is also free agent.
Eso will be interesting to see if they try to bring him back at free safety.
Um, the rest of the guys Sherrick, McManis, Erin Lynch, Bradley Soul, Ted Larson, Nick Williams and a number of other guys.
They currently have 123456 restricted free agents who they could also bring back on Laura.
Round tenders probably get away with those.
We'll see what happens with the bears in that sense, but obviously they have some holes to fill and not having, um, not having tons of cap space is is going to affect them, um, in the long run.
So hopefully they can make some moves and actually get some stuff done.
Ah, the next team, obviously, is the Chiefs.
And who would have guessed the Chiefs would kind of be in cap trouble? But that's the case.
I mean, they're not in dire straits.
We're not the league average yet.
This is the 26th ranked team.
So, Kensi Chief's ring 26 there at $16.
4 million in cap space.
I'm getting these off Spotrac guys, so if you wanna check later, you can look at your team.
But Kensi, chief $16.
465 million in cap space going into free agency.
Ah, their biggest cap.
It is friend Clark, $22.
7 million he's not going anywhere.
8 million in dead cap space, so you will be on the team.
Ah, Sammy Watkins is an interesting one.
$21 million Next year.
21 moon dollar cap hit.
44% off their team salary.
44% of a salary going Sammy walk ins.
I only that's going to stay.
He's got seven million and dead cap, which is kind of tough to swallow, but not really when you know 14 million of that will come off the cap.
So, um, it's 21 or seven.
You take the seven least any walk ins Looking for a job.
Terry kills making 17.
6 million next year.
Um, he's got a lot of dead cap, obviously, just a new deal.
Tyrone Matthew, 16 million next year.
A lot of dead cap.
He's not going anywhere.
Eric Fisher at 14.9.
Anthony Hitchens is next at 12.
6, and he's all that's dead cop.
So he's not going anywhere.
Travis Kelsey is at $11 million.
Um, so that's very reasonable.
Mitchell Schwartz at 10.8.
Lots of dead cat with him.
So just looking at this right now.
Obviously, Patrick, my home's at 5.
2 million is a bargain.
However, they're gonna have to redo his deal.
He's gonna be looking for her, you know, 40 million plus or at least $40 million. I'm guessing.
Um, I mean, if Jerry Golfs making 35 Mahomes is definitely be asking for close to 40 if not 40.
Um, so that's kind of a dicey situation for the chief's here, going into free agency, knowing that that contracts coming and the Kelsey contract, um, we'll be looming as well.
So obviously with my homes, um, possibly looking for something around that 40 million mark and possibly looking for, you know, something fully guaranteed.
You know, that's that's all going on the cap, if that's the case.
So, um, just looking at Kelsey right now.
He's I got one more season under contract, 2021 after next year and then he's unrestricted free agent his year.
He'll be 32 that year, so it's possible they just let him play that one out and make tough moving a couple of years with him.
But with my homes there, you definitely have toe worry about how that new contracts going affect the rest of the team.
Um, obviously, with you know, if you even if you lose seven walk ins, it's not a big deal.
But, um, it definitely will affect the Chiefs and free agency this upcoming season, whether they load up for the season one more year before they try to re sign my homes.
Um, definitely could be done.
Uh, as far as free agents go, guys, um, the Chiefs have Terrell Suggs.
We'll see. They picked up late.
Cameron, Irving the tackle.
Chad Henny Doesn't matter. He's gone.
He's gone. Demon.
Wilson outside linebacker.
Darren Lee Inside linebacker Damian Williams at running back.
5 Million club option.
It would be really interesting to see if they pick that up.
Two and 1/2 $1,000,000 for running back of his caliber is not too bad.
I would I would pick that out for them.
Um, Xavier Williams is next D tackle.
5 million George Lucas Morris Clayborn Badshah Breeland.
These are all guys, you know.
Um, it's gonna be tough to resign a lot of these guys, So it'll be really interesting to see my panel.
Blake Bell, um, will be really interesting to see what they do, um, as faras resetting their own guys, which I mean, they have some flexibility.
I'm just saying that Holmes contract is looming large, and it's going to affect them the next couple of years.
So, um, it will be interesting to see how the chief's rebuild retool this team.
You know, that accomplished so much in 2019.
So that being said, I'm gonna move on to the next team, which is the San Francisco 40 Niners.
So back to back Super Bowl teams here, Um surprise, surprise.
It really is quite interesting to see the 40 Niners being in this spot, because only a year ago they were talked about how, um, they just had so much caf space.
So, um, it's very interesting to see the 40 Niners with $19.
2 million cap space for, um for agency.
We're still not at league average guys, so these guys are below average, as faras cap space goes.
Jimmy Garoppolo is the number one paid player on this team.
6 million on Lee, 4.
2 million and dead cap space.
So that's why you hear a lot of these, you know, rumors about Is he the guy? Is he not the guy? Because the four nines could potentially move on from him.
Um, obviously not this year, but years to come.
So and it wouldn't be that much of a burden to them.
Ford is next. At $15.8 million.
He's got 6.4 million dead money.
I think they keep him around the forest.
But he played very well this season, so it would be tough to see him go as a worry if you're a 40 Niner fan.
Richard Sherman's at 13.
9 million next year on Lee one million Dead cop.
So that could potentially be an option.
Um, I don't think it would be.
Joe Staley is at 11.4.
He's only a $1,000,000 in dead cap, and he potentially could retire.
Ah, in off season.
So we'll see what happens there.
Simon Thomas that 8.
9 million you got Jerick McKinnon 8.5.
I think that's the guy that just have to cut their losses with.
Is that four million in dead cap? So you only get about half of that back on the cap.
958 and he's got 4.
He's got four exactly.
Dead cop Nick Bosa, obviously, is the next highest paid player yet.
Call youse check.
Uh, you could jacqui ski tart, um, and so on down the line so they don't have I mean, they got some mid level guys that they could probably look to get rid of.
Goodwin makes 4.
9 million next year.
That that could be a potential cut.
Um, Raheem Mostert makes three million next year.
That's very interesting.
That's kind of a lot for, ah, running back in committee.
We'll see what they dio a ce faras Free agents go.
Um, I know for a fact that they have a restricted free agent in hendrik Born who would be interesting on some other teams.
So was being seen.
See if some teams try to target him.
Emmanuel Sanders, obviously the biggest one he's a free agent at 33 years old will be interesting to see what kind of market he gets in free agency use.
Check has a club option.
Jason Verrett, Eric Armstead, Shawn Coleman, Tackle Ben Garland, The center Levin Totori, Lolo, the tight end, the mantra aim or Jordan Matthews, Dante Johnson, Sheldon Day, Anthony's That'll all free agents saw the before Nuns have their work cut out for them as far as re signing some of those guys to keep, you know, a core group kind of together, Um, and adding to the team that they already have.
So, like I said, they do have some wiggle room there.
If you know, guys retire or they could cut.
You know, a few guys as well on open up some more cap space and go out and target some guys that can get them over the hump.
Hopefully, um, in the next few years here, hopefully for San Francisco fans trying to be impartial as much as I can be.
So moving on to the Green Bay Packers, who have $21.
9 million their 24th in the league in cap space, obviously disappointing season for them.
Um oh, I think it was actually probably, um, a good season.
However, once you get in the big dance and you're in the position to potentially win, I think it becomes disappointing when you have a quarterback of Aaron Rodgers caliber to not, you know, at least get there.
Um, but that being said, I mean, it was, ah, solid overall season for the Packers.
Um, they played very well down the stretch before the playoffs.
I just couldn't get it done in the class when they needed to.
Obviously, the highest paid player on his team is Aaron Rodgers.
6 million, approximately 39,000,039 1/2 1,000,000 in dead cap space for him.
How's the Dairy Smiths at second? Davante Adams is third Dairy about TR EES forth with 14.
2 million in dead cap.
So could potentially looked to either move on from him or re sign him and get that deal down a little bit.
Make it a little bit more pals.
Preston Smith. Next.
6 million Seems a bit high for Jimmy Graham.
Um, and the way he plays.
I don't know if he survives this next off season without being either cut or restructured.
6 million cap it.
That's 5% of the cop, um, he's got 3.
66 million in dead cop so they could easily shave off.
But you know, 89 million off the cap space right there.
Ah, Corrie Lindsley is next.
Um that Adrian animals Kenny Clarke.
So, um, also the leading money getters on that team.
So, looking at their free agents Ah, they got Bryan Bulaga with the right tackle.
Who? You know, who's a very good pro? Um, a lot of these offense alignment, you know, from the Packers.
We'll probably look for maybe one more paycheck before, um, setting out to past year, as they say, Chairman Williams, 37 year old cornerback.
I think they say farewell to him.
Mason Crosby is a free agent.
Jarod Bell dear Geronimo Allison is unrestricted free agent, so that's a little bit interesting.
One. Mercedes Lewis.
I think he's gone.
Jason Spriggs, tackle Ryan Grant receiver.
He's gone middle bit.
Splash a couple years ago.
Um, Robert Tani and Junior is restricted free agent, as is their fullback, and the cast of others like Alan Lazard is also ah, he's a e r f s o.
Um they do have some guys that they could potentially resign, but I expect them to probably make some tough cuts and then hit the free agency market.
I know it's not really the Packers m O.
However, um, I think they need toe strongly.
Consider it just because I think they're not that far away from being a real contender.
Um, in the NFC so and they're running out of time.
You mean you can't You just sit there with Aaron Rodgers and expect him just to work his magic every time.
Add Jack The beast.
Really appreciate the foam finger at Janie.
Really appreciate tip as well.
Um, so, yeah, I think the packers need to make moves now.
They can't wait, um, and just hope that, you know, Aaron Rodgers gets him over the hump again.
So that being said, we're moving on to our last team and this team, you would think that they would be probably won't like you would think that I would have thought that I was said their name already because of the way the media talks about it.
But don't worry, they will be in really it really tied up in cap space coming forward.
Um, that is your Los Angeles Rams.
The Rams come in like I said, as the 23rd ring team in cap space at $23 million approximately 23.
287 to be exact.
And their biggest cap hit is Jared Golf at $36 million people next year.
So we talked about my homes asking for 40.
That's definitely gonna be happening.
Jared Goff Next year, $51 million in dead cap.
So he's staying there.
He's a quarterback.
Aaron Donald is next at 25 million.
Todd Gurley at $17.
All right, that he's got 12.
6 million in debt money.
He's not going anywhere.
Brennan cooks $16.
8 million in dead cap.
So he's not going anywhere, either.
Just what those guys cooks is 8% of the cap girlies, 8% of the cap and Donald's 12% in golf is 17%.
That is just unbelievable.
Just those four guys right there and then you throw in jail on Ramsey.
All right. At $13.7 million.
Robert Woods at 9.1.
Tyler Higbee a 8.6.
But he's got lots of dead Cat 8.
4, so he's not going anywhere, either.
Rob Havenstein, right tackle.
8 tons of dead cap.
He's got six million, so they won't really say that much.
Clay Matthews at 5.7.
They could save about three million if they cut him.
Johnny Hekker is at 4.6.
Um, they got Troy.
They could cut him and save about $3 million as well.
So, um, they have some cuts.
They can make it.
She's gonna thin them out a little bit.
So especially on defense side of the ball, where they probably, um you know, I could have played better this year.
So obviously, with a quarterback like Jared Guff, he's gonna need more support from the defense.
And, you know, it starts starts up front with hearing down on those guys, but, um, the back and has to be solid as well.
So, free agents wise for the Rams, we got Dante Fowler, 26 year old outside linebacker.
He's making a lot of money last year.
I think he walks.
Andrew Whitworth, left tackle, 38 years old.
You probably retires.
He made a lot of money as well.
Michael Brokers D tackle, 29 years old.
Also made a lot of money over $10 million.
Miquel Roby Coleman has a club option at $5 million.
I think they just I think you have to let him walk.
2 million Seems Lovett steep, man Seems nice wayto get a chunk of change back and maybe maneuver here because they don't have a first round pick for ever.
Um, because again, Well, hey, so we'll see what they do.
We have Blake Bortles Cares Price Hagar, Joe, Joe Nat's in Morgan Fox in a bunch of other guys that you haven't heard off unless you are a Rams fan.
So not tons of key free agents for the Rams, so they could be active in free agency.
Um, we'll see what Sean McBain has up his sleeve, but it will be definitely interesting offseason for these five teams.
Um, as they are not in the best position, but not the worst position either.
Close to I mean, the Rams are real close the league average.
Or once we get Thio around 2120 is the league average and we'll hit those up Tomorrow.
We got the Baltimore Ravens at 22.
Carolina Panthers at 21 the Patriots at 20.
Detroit lines at 19.
So 1234 and we'll hit the Philadelphia Eagles as well.
18 to run off the next five.
That I will do tomorrow for you guys.
Um, I really appreciate it.
Guys jumping in Charlotte to unwrap sports network SportsCastr.
Really appreciate you guys.
Thank you for dropping in.
And I'll see you guys soon.
