00:04:03
Why don't consider them full blown podcast? We do want to be available on the audio versions when those start to come out, which will be in mid to late March.
00:04:10

00:04:55
And we're talking about a player in particular that I like and seemingly look more than most out there.
00:05:02
Ah, when they start breaking down, especially quarterbacks, we are still doing quarterback.
00:05:06
Still have.
00:05:07
There's our last call Doctor we're gonna be doing for the player profile spotlight.
00:05:10
We'll be back tomorrow and we kick off our running back player profiles, not lights tomorrow, which consequently will be this player.
00:05:16
Me mates, and I like this player a lot more than most.
00:05:20
Which is Jake from now.
00:05:22
I know a lot of people we talked about last week when I did the Justin Herbert player profiles spotlight.
00:05:27
I talked about that.
00:05:28
I was not as big of adjusting her profession as most seemed to be.
00:05:30
We broke that down in the film as to why what my concerns were, and we also talked about some things that he did well today.
00:05:37
I'm only talking about the quarterback who I do believe is the third best quarterback in this NFL draft class.
00:05:42
And that is Jake from Jake from Yes, I know there's been a lot of questions about him.
00:05:49
He came out highly talented.
00:05:50
He was a starter since he was a freshman, a guy who really hasn't quite lived up to expectations, especially this past season, but had a lot of things really not be able to go his way.
00:06:00
First of all, he lost a lot of his weapons from his junior year, which was his best year in his collegiate career to the NFL draft, and Georgia while I do a pretty good job of reloading, we're not in a position to be able to reload the way that they normally do at the wide receiver position heading into this season.
00:06:15
The other aspect of it was that their offense of line the interior of that offense of line.
00:06:19
I was supposed to be pretty experience and starting and be one of the better ones.
00:06:22
What? I'm getting vastly injured throughout the entire season, so we didn't have really his starting offensive line in front of him throughout the entire year as well.
00:06:31
It also kind of played a part into the running back.
00:06:32
We're gonna talk about in tomorrow's episode.
00:06:35
DeAndre Swift and why I gave him some trouble at times, too, because that often the line was really below average, especially for the SEC in the town that they had a face on a week to week basis in the conference there.
00:06:48
But we're gonna get to Jake from today.
00:06:49
We're gonna break down the things that I really like about without break down some of things that we have to keep our eyes on, some things he's gonna have to improve upon now, just to kind of give you a kind of quick synopsis.
00:06:59
I do.
00:07:00
I don't think this is a guy that is going to be able to come into a team and start Day one.
00:07:04
I do think there's some things that he needs to be able to work on before he winds up being a starting quarterback.
00:07:08
So they kind of not jump forward too far ahead of myself.
00:07:12
Usually wait to the end of the episode, but I will kind of give you guys a little bit of ah ah, little bit of a steep peak care of that.
00:07:18
I am not going to tell you that Jake from his guy who's going to have Aton off 2020 redraft value.
00:07:24
But I am going to give you an idea of what I think his dynasty prospects could be as we go ahead and break down the film.
00:07:31
Now, before we go ahead and get started, we start breaking down Jake Fran's career stats.
00:07:35
I do want to talk to you guys about the D.

00:08:18
D S F F show today.
00:08:21
Now let's get into Jake from here.
00:08:24
We guy's career stats up in front of you on the video, and we got 622 completions not out with 983 attempts.
00:08:32
That equals a 63.3 completion percentage.
00:08:35
It's pretty good.
00:08:36
Ain't bad.
00:08:37
Especially come from George, especially playing in the sec.
00:08:40
You have a you've got who spent most of his freshman year as a really more of a game manager because he was a freshman quarterback and was able to open it up over his sop****re and junior seasons on correction from myself earlier.
00:08:54
Actually, he is a junior now, so his sop****re season was his best season junior season.
00:08:57
This past year was a little bit disappointing, so I just want to correct myself real quick that I caught it.
00:09:02
Look, he had a great time, a 0.
00:09:04
4 yards per attempt, 9.
00:09:06
1 yard per completion.
00:09:08
That is about the rate of the job borough of A to attack alive oa off.
00:09:12
Those elite upper echelon quarterbacks are gonna be heading into this year's NFL draft.
00:09:18
And, as you can see, though, he's not a scrambler.
00:09:20
He's not a runner.
00:09:21
He's not a guy who's going to do anything really with his legs other than maybe a couple of quarterback, Sneak says he is a bigger body type of quarterback.
00:09:29
What he's a pocket passer and that that's completely fine in this league.
00:09:33
I don't know.
00:09:35
There there seemed to be a transition back and forth from year to year seems to be a bi yearly thing that I've found myself when I'm talking about the NFL wher g M's and scouts and expert ****ysts will talk up, Ah, guy that he needs to be able to scramble.
00:09:47
He needs to be able to use his legs.
00:09:48
He needs to be able to be a dual threat type of guy.
00:09:52
But then all of a sudden, back off of that and go back to well, wait, no, he needs to be a pocket passer. Needs to be accurate.
00:09:58
Needs to be ableto ball distributor.
00:10:00
It just seems to go back and forth all time.
00:10:01
The The fact is that you can win both ways.
00:10:03
It depends on what your skill set is.
00:10:05
Duh, and I don't know why.
00:10:06
That seems to be a novelty concept.
00:10:08
All these people and why they keep going back and forth as far as what's better, what you need to be in order to succeed in the NFL.
00:10:13
The point is, what is your skill set? Is your Scotia NFL level? Can you hone your skills to be even better when you get to the pro level? That's all it is.
00:10:20
I don't know why people try to make it out to be brain surgery of complications.
00:10:23
But that is my little side rant that I have for you guys today.
00:10:27
But we want to get back over to Jake prom.
00:10:29
Now, throughout his tape, we're only gonna view a couple of games today.
00:10:34
We have, I believe I have five plays lined up that we're going to show you and break down for you over two different games.
00:10:40
But I watched the Thanh of Jake from tape, obviously a lot more than one of mine to show you guys.
00:10:44
I'm just going to be showing you the film clips that are examples off what I saw most often just a shot to make it easy to relay the points to you with his breakdown.
00:10:56
But look, he has a very strong arm, and this is something that I don't think gets enough credit for, or people kind of overwrite because sometimes you had accuracy issues down the field.
00:11:06
But this is a guy who has a very strong arm, and I believe you get even stronger.
00:11:09
He's a student of the game.
00:11:11
He makes excellent, excellent pre snap reads.
00:11:14
It was a pretty good job in the post snap as well could use some improvement in that area.
00:11:18
But like most collegiate quarterbacks, that is the number one area that they have to improve in when they're going into the NFL.
00:11:24
So there's nothing really to be concerned about their.
00:11:27
You're talking about a guy who's been a posture, your starter.
00:11:29
He has experienced quarterback positions, not brand new things to him.
00:11:32
And yet, because he's still only a junior because he's been starting since he was a freshman, he's still only 21 years old, which means he still has a lot of room for improvement.
00:11:41
There's still a lot of room to be had there, and some of the things that we're gonna talk about that he doesn't do quite consistently enough or doesn't do as well are very coachable traits that if he goes to the right team in the right situation, has the right coach and four of them.
00:11:54
And of course, those are all you know, big ifs.
00:11:57
And that's always going to be the caveat for any of these NFL draft prospect that we talked about before the draft actually comes to fruition.
00:12:04
He's gonna have a big ceiling that he could jump Thio.
00:12:07
If he's able to get the correct coaching, That's really all it's gonna come down to on what we're going to see, where he winds up at some of his cons that we have.
00:12:15
Yes, he's a statue in the pocket.
00:12:16
He doesn't move around very well, and that's one of the things that he does need to work on.
00:12:19
Even if you are not a mobile quarterback, you can look at Peyton Manning.
00:12:23
You'll look at Tom Brady, look at their presence in the pocket and how they're able to maneuver within that area.
00:12:27
You don't have to be incredibly mobile, mobile to be slippery in the pocket, something Jake from does need to work on in and of himself.
00:12:35
He falls.
00:12:36
I'm sorry.
00:12:37
He fails consistently to step up in the pocket, and this is one of my biggest issues with you.
00:12:41
And this is one of the reasons why I do believe he has a very strong arm, why you could possibly have an elite arm at the NFL level, because if he was to take a step up in the pocket and you're going to see in the film, he consistently just kind of stands there, shifts his weight, is really the only place against his torque and just relies on his arm predominantly to make zip throw and make that velocity throw for you.
00:13:02
This guy, he takes 1/2 a step up in the pocket.
00:13:03
All of a sudden, that arm goes from very strong to elite on a dime, and it would probably help a lot out with his accuracy.
00:13:10
That's one the big things we're gonna look at here today.
00:13:12
He does have a gun singer mentality, which means, especially in the NFL, when you have that mentality willing to take chances.
00:13:19
But also me probably gonna throw balls up into areas in spots that you have no business during the ball up in the year two and wind up getting picked off at the NFL level.
00:13:28
So this Jake from is a guy that I do believe if he winds up being a consistent starter, any NFL is somebody who's probably going to throw 15 16 17 interceptions on a regular basis.
00:13:38
Probably have a couple of seasons here or there, where he maybe even gets into 20 especially early on his career, because he does have that gun signore mentality where he's willing throw it down the field, which I think is a good thing in the NFL overall.
00:13:50
But as you will see, there will be times where he just needs to know that.
00:13:54
Just take the sack and live to play another day, and that's one of things he's gonna have to work on here.
00:14:00
My player come for him is somewhere in between a Matthew Stafford and a Carson Palmer.
00:14:04
That's kind of should tell you how highly I think of him, how highly I think of his potential of what he can become.
00:14:11
He has that type of arm, and when I talk about Carson Palmer, I'm talking about the guy who came out of college, not the guy who was post a C L surgery.
00:14:18
I'm talking about that guy who had a nice arm who came into the league there.
00:14:22
We just need to work on some things like accuracy needed to work on some things like Po ST snaps.
00:14:26
Some things are very similar to Jake from I say he's in between because I don't believe he quite has the arm off the Matthew Stafford.
00:14:32
I think Matthew Stafford is probably just a notch below patch from homes.
00:14:35
As far as quarterbacks with cannons in the NFL.
00:14:38
He's not quite at that level, but I do think he's somewhere in between those two guys and has the potential to be that.
00:14:44
So obviously we have a pretty high opinion of him there and we're gonna go through it.
00:14:49
Like I said with the video, we have five clips from from two different games for you guys.
00:14:54
But before we get into all of that, I do want to talk about a new sponsor that we do have with the show ESPN.
00:15:01
Plus, they're helping us.
00:15:02
They're giving us a chance here to really be able to get on the platform, get on, get recognition, getting a big sponsor like this.

00:16:01
One of great new sponsors that we have with the show and very, very happy to have this opportunity with them.
00:16:07
So let's go ahead and switch over to the film study here for you guys now, like I said, coming up, you wanna file along my curse? I'm gonna lay all this stuff out for you and, like us, have five different plays.
00:16:18
Two different teams got things that I've seen pretty consistently things that I've seen him do really well.
00:16:24
Things.
00:16:25
I think we're just gonna have to work on the next round.
00:16:26
But I do believe that Jake from is one of the better quarterbacks out there.
00:16:30
And I think this tape is going to prove to you guys as to why What discuss? That is as far as his potential goes and why.
00:16:36
I believe we'll have some significant fantasy value depending on the situation that he winds up in.
00:16:42
So the first play here, this shows off his student of the game ability.
00:16:48
Right? So what we have here is that you're going to see a three receivers to running back formation, as you can see right here.
00:16:54
And it's gonna be a Versace at nickel blitz man coverage.
00:16:59
So they're actually not. They're doing a pretty good job here.
00:17:01
They're not showing you the bliss.
00:17:02
They are showing your nickel package with the cover one up top.
00:17:04
So it does kind of indicate that this could be a man situation here.
00:17:10
This isn't the red zone.
00:17:11
Obviously, as you can see, this is the Sugar Bowl from two years ago.
00:17:15
I believe it is now against Texas.
00:17:18
Yes, Georgia did not do well in this game, but still doesn't mean that all the tape is all bad ahold of time.
00:17:24
And I kind of want to make that point here while showing his plus, I also want to show you some tape of Jake from against tougher competition as well.
00:17:31
So what you're gonna see here is gonna see the outside water cedars, they're gonna run there is gonna run deep.
00:17:35
They're gonna run right? Right to the end zone.
00:17:37
That's not why receiver, he is going to run a 10 yard and in okay, And what you're gonna do, we're going to see off of that is that's gonna open up a scene here for the running back to second running back right here to run up the seam.
00:17:50
He's the one who's gonna be targeted on the play.
00:17:53
So what I want you guys to do is I want you to watch this the first time through, and we're gonna break it down on the second time through.
00:18:04
You saw that nice little strike.
00:18:05
Nice little play designed. Nice.
00:18:07
Read.
00:18:08
Good calm.
00:18:09
Throw right there in stride to the running back for the touchdown.
00:18:12
What would have been the first touchdown of the game.
00:18:14
Actually, kind of like this angle here is, well, kind of gives you a nice little better view of how it everything kind of played out how all of formations worked.
00:18:21
All right, so again, you know it's going to happen.
00:18:24
These wires, you're gonna run deep.
00:18:25
He's gonna run the end to kind of open up to seem They're commented on a blitz.
00:18:28
So it was a perfectly called play, the perfect time for the defense that was called because now you have the safety's gotta pick up the running back.
00:18:34
He's late to get over, which opens up wide open.
00:18:37
Now look where Jake from is looking.
00:18:38
He's not looking as running back.
00:18:39
He's looking at that safety right here to see what he's going to dio and he's watching, and he's waiting for a call in the slot receiver.
00:18:46
But this really was a tight end, split out wide as Faras personnel goes, and he's waiting to see when he goes in.
00:18:51
What is the safety? What is a linebacker? How are they going to react? And this is all a post nah, parade And as soon as he goes in linebacker is late to get out.
00:18:59
The safety goes with with the tight end.
00:19:01
In this situation, it opens up the seam.
00:19:02
He just flicks it.
00:19:04
Now Here's one of the things that I kind of want you guys to look at here We talked about last week a lot about Justin Herbert and the way he throws the football and why I get completely baffled by the idea that Justin Herbert somehow has this rocket armor somehow has his natural, the last of the arm talent that I do not believe he does at all.
00:19:22
And we pointed out why in his mechanics and the way that he throws the ball, why he has to use so much more torque to get the same amount of velocity of a job borough of it to attack Olivia and, frankly, nine.
00:19:32
Where anywhere close to how Jake from throws the football, either.
00:19:36
So I want you to watch how you live releases his ball.
00:19:39
This is what I love about quarterbacks who have natural arm strength.
00:19:43
They can just flick their wrists, and I talked about this in the two attack of love. Oh, tape as well.
00:19:47
They could just flick the wrist and that ball comes flying out of their hands and just can be sit and then hit the wide receiver on the dime while doing so.
00:19:56
It doesn't take much effort.
00:19:58
That's kind of how you know that.
00:19:59
That that's to keep.
00:20:00
It looks like quarterback doesn't take much effort to throw a ball that comes flying out of their hand, and they probably have some pretty good natural arm strength, which something Jake from I think has a ton of.
00:20:09
He just flicks this ball flicks his ball and its sores on him.
00:20:13
Nice, perfectly thrown, placed the ball right there perfectly into the wide receivers hands and all I did was Flick is rest and it zoomed out there.
00:20:21
That's something.
00:20:22
I kind of want you guys to see the concert.
00:20:23
I want you guys to be able to start being a watch for and be able to compare when these guys talk about quarterbacks because I really like when it comes to quarterbacks especially, and running backs and receivers are as bad.
00:20:34
But when it comes to quarterbacks, especially, I find myself shaking my head and asking, Am I watching the same tape as some of the more the mainstream experts are because where they get their ****ysis from where they get their coms from worth, they get their grades from, especially becomes a quarterback position and arm talent.
00:20:50
I consistently shake my head, and to me it's very simple things that you can look at that kind of indicate to you exactly what level some of these guys are on.
00:20:59
So now they had to play number two.
00:21:00
And in this one, we're going to see his gun singer mentality and the pitfalls off that guns of immortality and what that can lead to at times.
00:21:07
And well, like we said before, it can lead to a bunch of interceptions.
00:21:10
And that can be an issue for, you know, for the NFL.
00:21:14
Is he going to be? He's never going to be a game manager guy.
00:21:16
He's never gonna be the guy who plays it safe and is able to just not turn the ball over.
00:21:20
The win you games is not his style of play.
00:21:23
It's not what he's going to give you, and this is kind of one of the reasons why.
00:21:26
An example is why what he has to get better and learn to just hold onto the ball, live to play another day.
00:21:31
If you can't throw it away and it's okay, take a sack every once in a while.
00:21:35
So obviously, we're in a situation here.
00:21:37
He is feeling a little bit of pressure.
00:21:39
Look down here.
00:21:40
It's 20 to 7 of Texas over.
00:21:42
Georgia is starting 11.
00:21:43
You're in the third quarter, so he is feeling the need to make a play here.
00:21:47
But still, even in these situations, you have to know when to just take a sack and admit defeat.
00:21:51
So let's watch the first play all the way through, and then we'll break it down on the second play.
00:22:09
All right, so you saw what happened there.
00:22:11
He gets get some pressure, gets knocked off his spot, not very mobile tries, tries to rely on his arm.
00:22:17
Just throw it up in the air and very Jamis.
00:22:20
Winston asked like throws it straight up and it gets picked off because it's underthrown because he wasn't able to get his base under him to actually get the velocity and the power that he needs to make a throw.
00:22:29
That was that far down the field.
00:22:32
So what, you see, if you couldn't check it out right away was at the bottom water.
00:22:36
Seaver here. He's gonna run a post.
00:22:38
And that's the guy who's going to be targeted on the play.
00:22:40
The top wide receiver.
00:22:41
He's gonna run a deep in, and it's not why receiver, he's gonna run a deep cross.
00:22:45
Now you have.
00:22:46
The tight end is coming in motion.
00:22:47
He's gonna run at 8 to 10 yard hitch in here and in the burning back's gonna try to pick up the blitz that is inevitably coming right here.
00:22:54
And this is of course, again versus a nickel blitz, man.
00:22:57
Something Texas did quite a bit of, especially during this year.
00:23:02
So we're gonna see just he has too much belief in his arm.
00:23:05
And while it is a strength of his game, if you're any quarterback, I don't care who you are.
00:23:10
Even more homes in this matter.
00:23:12
If you are able to get your base set under you and you try to launch a ball 50 60 yards down the field, it's probably gonna come up short because you're not gonna be able to have as much control on it.
00:23:21
So let's break this down.
00:23:22
This play down as it goes, snaps the ball.
00:23:24
Here comes the pressure right off the edge.
00:23:28
So now all of a sudden he's got to step up right.
00:23:30
But instead of just stepping up, he tries to run up into this area and in season opening here, so thinks he has some time to throw off the football.
00:23:37
But he really just sort of stepped up into here because he had a pocket, a clean pocket that he could have.
00:23:42
And knowing that he's not a quarterback who has very good mobility, should know better than to try to run outside, because now you have this defensive tackle who's gonna be able to track him down.
00:23:51
Even tackle does a great job.
00:23:52
He goes for his outside hip, makes him have to come back in because you know he's got a defenders coming in this way.
00:23:57
It was gonna have to be able to get him to throw off balance and cuts off his escape path comes bearing down.
00:24:05
Try to back it up here as he comes bearing down Jake from, tries to do a little hop, that kind of throw this ball Yeah, it's just not coming.
00:24:15
Throws away up in the air.
00:24:16
Safety comes down with it.
00:24:17
Play over.
00:24:18
This is something that we saw consistently throughout his tape.
00:24:21
That's one of the biggest reasons why he had sort of a disappointing junior year at times.
00:24:25
So just to kind of keep that in mind as one of the weaknesses of his game, that he is going to have to work on on the next level.
00:24:32
Now this player we're about to talk about here, this play is a mixed bag of variables.
00:24:40
This shows off his great arm strength, but it also shows off the reason why he needs to learn to consistently step up in the pocket, why he needs to show some touch in his throat and not just just throw bullets all the time all over the field.
00:24:57
So just kind of break down what you're going to see first before we before we played the first time and then break it down on the second time.
00:25:02
It's gonna you know, you have your three receivers, one tight end, one running back.
00:25:05
You have a nickel based formation, as you expect to see.
00:25:08
It's going to be covered three on the defense, so it kind of just watch that.
00:25:11
Watch how the receivers react.
00:25:12
Watch how the quarterback acts that the outside wide receivers, they're gonna run deep on this one star receiver.
00:25:18
He's gonna run a skinny post, and then the title's gonna block the running backs in the block.
00:25:25
There's watch this play all the way through the first time, and then we're gonna break it down on the 2nd 1 is a pretty ball.
00:25:37
It flies through the air really well, but it's just just out of the reach of the wide receiver.
00:25:43
And this something that happened pretty consistently.
00:25:45
And this is even, You know, this year is the year that they had guys like Nicole Harbin, who are burners and ride the really who are really good wide receivers here.
00:25:54
So he hasn't really good.
00:25:55
Why receivers to be able to throw the ball to and the deep ball is something.
00:25:58
He's just a little bit for a guy who has the arms like that he's had.
00:26:01
It's just a little too inconsistent for someone with his kind of ability, so you have on the snap play action.
00:26:08
Fake comes in blocks you're gonna have pressure here because it's man to man coverage or I'm sorry it's covered.
00:26:15
Three.
00:26:16
Safety bails out these two corners of playing the deep thirds.
00:26:20
The other safety drops down here.
00:26:21
He's gonna try to pick up the wide receiver or play the zone on the wide receiver here, comes out bumps in, has a clean pocket, has clean.
00:26:29
Papa has all the time in the world to make this throw.
00:26:32
He's looking deep, He says his feet.
00:26:36
His His base is good, His base is good.
00:26:39
He's about shoulder length apart.
00:26:41
Has his back foot to maybe a little too far, a little too far out than it needs to be.
00:26:45
But the big thing here is that he just he has all this room to step up.
00:26:50
Is all this room step up? If he takes just ah, full step up or even 1/2 a step up, it'll give him not only more power, but will be able to put him in a position that he's able to balance his body out to allow him to have more accuracy, more control on this throw, and instead of doing that, he kind of just tries to shift his weight.
00:27:09
Pam stops there, does like 1/2 step and then tries to throw if he doesn't fool, step up into the pocket or does that 1/2 step there and then takes one more step because he has the ability to do so.
00:27:21
First of all, he has wide receivers not gonna outrun his arm because you can't and it will give him the ability to have more control.
00:27:27
Like I said, he doesn't take advantage of this enough.
00:27:30
When he's had clean pockets to be able to step up and let it go.
00:27:33
He tries to throw back off of just 1/2 step for all over just shifting his weight and was let it fly instead of taking a step up into the pocket.
00:27:40
Now, this is something that we see pretty consistently with, with even to attack a vote.
00:27:44
At times, it was something I had to knock on him as well.
00:27:47
Collegiate quarterbacks in general, realizing hey, if you have the ability to take that extra half step, that can make all the difference in the world, especially, we're talking about a deep throw like this where your wire Seaver does have a defender be and could make a play on the ball.
00:28:00
So just a mixed bag there you saw nice arm strength.
00:28:03
You could see how nationalists you how the ball flies through the year and really just I mean, really took off.
00:28:09
Really had a lot of velocity about 50 yards down the field here.
00:28:12
But some of things that need to work on to get more accurate in those deep balls.
00:28:17
So moving on the next play here, you see, we got a red zone opportunity and he makes a great read it here in the red zone.
00:28:23
Now, as you can see, this is the Vanderbilt.
00:28:25
This is from this past year in 2019 tours later, half of the season.
00:28:30
So yes, Vanderbilt not, you know, the greatest competition here.
00:28:33
Not trying to say that they are, but just doesn't mean you still can't see things that really make you look a you mentally part, especially mental part of the game where you're going to be able to highly his strength at the next level.
00:28:46
So, on this one you got you got three receivers.
00:28:48
It's obviously Colin situation.
00:28:49
Got the receivers tight end, running back It's kind of a goal line D 43 mixed at Vanderbilt is trying to play here.
00:28:56
I don't know why they tried to play this with so many big bodies, knowing that Georgia was still going to be in a three receiver set, but they did.
00:29:03
I call it a gold 143 mics because they do have the safeties all the way up in the box.
00:29:07
But they do have three linebackers, four down linemen.
00:29:09
They don't have five down.
00:29:10
Lineman was not a total gold line formation, so that's kind of the difference there.
00:29:13
If you're if you're asking yourselves at home, what's the difference between the two and why have it is a hybrid here, The bottom wide receiver he's gonna run, Ah, slant and out on the on the play here.
00:29:24
Now he was actually to go to read on this one.
00:29:26
Which is why this is a great read post nap by Jake from in this situation.
00:29:30
Another reason why he definitely is a guy who studies the game, studies that well and tries to make his reads off of that.
00:29:37
The slot receiver is going to run across here and the tight end's gonna block the running back's going to block the top wide receivers Gonna run a slam.
00:29:47
So let's watch his house plays out in the 1st 1 will break down in a second.
00:29:54
Nice throw.
00:29:55
Nice read.
00:29:56
Hits the guy in stride in the corner of the end zone.
00:29:59
Definitely seeing a goal line situation.
00:30:01
All right, So, as you see, he's gonna come across.
00:30:03
Now what is Jake Farm reading? Jake Finals.
00:30:05
Not looking at his guys coming across here right now.
00:30:07
What he's reading his number one read is his outside wide receiver here.
00:30:10
Who's gonna try to come out and get the separation on this corner when he tries to make this when he tries to make this out pattern, which would make that slant stop and go, It's not there.
00:30:20
The corner does a great job locks him up, Sir.
00:30:22
Stephen slips a little bit.
00:30:24
Now he's got a secondary read.
00:30:25
Now I see the corner.
00:30:26
Now that this corner is gonna stay with him, they're not playing zone.
00:30:29
He knows he's got me and the man he knows he has this area of the end zone all wide open seas that he's about to break free, sees that he has the position on the offender in this situation.
00:30:38
The linebacker didn't go with him.
00:30:39
He's late to get the coverage.
00:30:41
No way he's gonna be able to catch up to him.
00:30:43
Just makes a nice throw step easy, Throat use that natural flick and gets the ball over the corner of the end zone.
00:30:49
Hits the guy in stride in the one spot that only he can get to the ball.
00:30:52
It's a really nice throw.
00:30:54
Yes, there was.
00:30:55
There's a bigger window there than he's only going to see in the NFL, but making a secondary read in goal line situations.
00:31:00
It's what's going to make you a good red zone quarterback when push comes to shove on the next level.
00:31:07
So for our fifth play and the last play that we're gonna talk about with Jake from here today is a nice a nice deep ball completion, and I wanted to show you this is like he did complete something.
00:31:17
Everybody wants to make it out like I was so inaccurate down the field.
00:31:21
When he does complete it, though, when he does do the things that he is supposed to do to put himself in that position, to be able to complete the past in your proper proper format.
00:31:29
Here he it looks really pretty.
00:31:32
And that's why I think he does have a level of ceiling that he has not been able to tap into yet.
00:31:37
Of why I get so excited about the prospect of Jake prom down in the future if he winds up in the right situation.
00:31:45
So what you're going to see here? We're obviously gonna let you watch the first player running in the second year like we have done the entire time.
00:31:50
But you have to wire steers.
00:31:51
You got two tight ends, got a running back.
00:31:53
It's a 34 look, but they're gonna wanna cover three off of this now because you have the two receivers to the bottom side here and state he finds himself over here another safe.
00:32:02
He's gonna come up because all you have is a tight end running back.
00:32:05
Did he have to worry about here? But he's gonna play a cover three.
00:32:08
Cover three, Cover three.
00:32:09
We're all gonna drop back and play that 3rd 3rd league of the zone here.
00:32:12
So that's what you're going to see there.
00:32:14
Uh, the bottom wide receiver.
00:32:15
He's gonna run a deep in.
00:32:17
You're gonna see them come across there.
00:32:18
The stock.
00:32:19
Why? Receiver? He's gonna run a post, and then the Titans gonna block The running back's going to block, and we'll just watch what happens on the first play and break it down in a second.
00:32:35
What? I mean, it was a strike.
00:32:37
It was a strike down the field to that wasn't lob.
00:32:40
It wasn't a touch that wasn't let you receive a run under.
00:32:42
It was I can put it on a dime and a bullet, you know, 40 50 yards down the field.
00:32:46
That's one of the things I get excited about.
00:32:48
So let's break this down as we see as we see it go through what? We're what it is that we're looking for.
00:32:53
What made this play different as far as the other deep completion that didn't happen.
00:32:57
Family steps up.
00:32:59
Now look what he did here.
00:33:00
Look what he did here.
00:33:02
And this is why I keep harping on with him.
00:33:05
Makes the play fake, has a seven step drop, stops.
00:33:10
Does his job pretty well too.
00:33:11
By the way, one of the reasons why I do like him.
00:33:13
Coming out of the Georgia system, a pro style system steps up, sets his feet, sees reading now right here.
00:33:19
He's looking at his His slot receiver, you know, is gonna run this post.
00:33:22
You see if you can take that deep shot here, it's gonna be open safety of you here.
00:33:27
Who has the other cover? Third? Because there was no wire receiver, no tight end who came out in a pattern here.
00:33:31
He didn't bail out like you normally would.
00:33:34
So he's not in his area like he's supposed to be in this cover three.
00:33:37
Which is why the post slot receiver gets so wide open on the post.
00:33:43
He's reading that the whole way and I want it back up.
00:33:44
Now watch.
00:33:45
Keep your eyes on Jake from sets.
00:33:48
Does a two stepper does? A two stepper was back that up real quick.
00:33:53
Back that up real quick is somebody.
00:33:54
I want somebody to just give Jake from this tape.
00:33:56
Do this in the NFL, when you have the ability to do so.
00:33:59
Look, obviously is all the time.
00:34:00
The world has all the room in the world hopped up with two steps trying.
00:34:06
I'm trying to narrow this down here because it happened so fast, sets his feet, hops up, once, pops up twice, then throws the football.
00:34:15
And because he gave that actual step because one he could to took advantage of it.
00:34:20
That gave him not only the velocity and the power that you're looking for in a deep throat like that, but it gave him the ability to make sure his body was completely bounced to allow the make an accurate throw down the field.
00:34:30
And like I said on a strike, bam hits the wide receiver right there.
00:34:34
That was a great throw.
00:34:35
That is the opinion.
00:34:36
Why I think Jake from can be in the NFL.
00:34:39
That's why haven't was my third best quarterback in this draft class now, overall.
00:34:43
Here just to kind of talk about what do I think about these quarterbacks in general? Since we are done with the quarterbacks after this episode, we're gonna be moving on the running back starting tomorrow for a player profiles spotlights.
00:34:56
What I think that you want to talk about everyone's talking about is how many quarterbacks remember on the first round of most people have at least three.
00:35:02
Most people have brough to attack. Novoa.
00:35:04
Have Justin Herbert.
00:35:05
The question is, is going to be.
00:35:06
Is Jordan love gonna sneak in there? Could Jake from sneak in there, or could it? Could it be somebody else? Ah, and there actually is another name, and I'm drawn a blank right now on who that exactly is. But there is 1/5 quarterback.
00:35:17
They talk about pasta getting into the first Brown that escape his consistency and hit his lack of natural arm talent that I just do not like at the next level.
00:35:59
And he's the guy everyone has keeps going, you know, in Top 15 and I just don't I don't see it, Jake Found is the only other quarterback that I could see.
00:36:07
That is.
00:36:08
The right situation could make argument to be in the first round, and the right situation for me would be a team like the Pittsburgh Steelers would be deemed like New England pages would be a team that's going to have their veteran quarterback for at least another year.
00:36:22
Possibly to that, he would be able to not have to come in right away and play day one be able to work on his consistencies work on his mechanics, being situations that have developed quarterbacks before.
00:36:31
And you're going to see a guy who could wind up being a franchise quarterback, so I would wouldn't mind seeing Jake from go in the first round.
00:36:38
It would wind up being in that type of situation.
00:36:42
Now, if you want has been a situation where, and I don't imagine it's happening because most people's value on him is in the second round.
00:36:48
Most people don't have him going in the first, but if you wanna be a situation where he did needed to play, you know Week one, I do think because was gunslinger mentality because of some of that consists of the inconsistencies in his mechanics and do the fact that if he does wind up in the situation, it's probably with a team that doesn't have a great track record of developing quarterbacks.
00:37:07
Ideal worry a little bit about what his value could possibly be.
00:37:09
But as of right now and as always with any of these rookies, it all depends on where they wind up on what their situation is going to be.
00:37:16
But he is somebody who I'm looking at as a dynasty quarterback who I'm going to take in the upcoming rookie draft if you don't have one of the high picks, if you're not gonna end up with a job or or to attack of love.
00:37:26
Oh, Jake from is definitely worth a dynasty Pick for you guys.
00:37:30
He has all the abilities that you look for in a guide.
00:37:35
Could potentially be a pocket franchise type of quarterback.
00:37:38
He is that guy.
00:37:39
I think he's just not getting enough love.
00:37:41
I can't wait for his pro day when he's able to show off.
00:37:43
But I do think when he gets a chance to show off in his pro day and he's able to just show off his natural ability, I think he's gonna wow some people.
00:37:51
I think he's going to jump up on draft board after that as well, so that's what I'm personally waiting for.
00:37:55
But that is the breakdown of Jake from for you guys.
