do the New England Patriots cool all in in 2020 and try one last push for a Super Bowl with Tom Brady and Co.
Or does Bill Bell ejections retool and focus on the Patriots long term health this off season? The New England Patriots? It's more interesting and more important than any other offseason in recent memory, Of course, Bill Belichick and Robert Craft.
They have to deal with the immediate headache of resolving the Tom Brady contract situation.
No matter what Brady does, the Patriots are gonna have to address the quarterback situation by either re signing Tom Brady or start looking for his replacement.
I also assume that Bill Belichick does have a Plan A, B and C when it comes to Brady and the Patriots quarterback situation.
But we can't forget that There are also pressing concerns like Kyle Vinoy, Devin McCourty, Jamie Collins, Matthew Slater and Joe.
To me, the Patriots can't afford to re sign everybody, and some tough decisions are going to have to be made.
And for the guys that they can't re sign below check and newly extended neck Cesario, we'll have to try to figure out how to replace them.
The word replacement is what makes this offseason so intriguing for the Patriots.
There are three different ways that the patrons could attack this offseason.
The Patriots have the option to try to go all in in the 2020 season.
Re signed Tom Brady and sign either, like in a J Green aura.
Mari Cooper Bala check can move on from some of their costly veterans, rebuild the tight end position and fix the offensive line through the draft.
The defense will be significantly downgraded from 2019 but of Brady performs at high levels.
The offense could try and make up for their defensive deficiencies and hope it's good enough to bring them back to a Super Bowl.
Best case scenario.
The Patriots win their seventh Lombardi Trophy and head into the 2021 season with an older but somewhat competitive team.
Worst case scenario.
Brady plays like he's 43 years old.
The Patriots don't make it to the Super Bowl and Pats Nation prepares for the dark days.
Now, in order for Bala check to be ableto build the current roster into a Super Bowl caliber team in 2020 he's probably gonna have to give up some serious draft assets in 2020 2021.
That, of course, keeps the Patriots older, and it will take the 2022 2023 2020 2020 24 draft to rebuild the team.
Going all in for 2020 and possibly 2021 season doesn't help the team's long term health.
There's also no guarantee that the Patriots going all in will be good enough to get them a Super Bowl.
The more ideal path to take is continuing to keep retooling the team through the draft.
The Patriots already have a good young core, both on offense and defense to build around, and they can use their existing veterans and stay up to snob with the better teams in the A F C.
Offensively, the Patriots have running back Sony, Michelle and Damian Harris, wide receivers McKeel Harry and Jacoby Meyers, offensive lineman David Andrews, Isaiah Win and Shack Mason.
Adding one of the premier receivers in this year's draft will add another explosive weapon, and that would allow Harry to play a lesser role.
And play is the number two receiver for the Patriots in the future as well is dropping him to number three or four and 2020 behind Julian Edelman and Mohammed Sunu Bala.
Check an address the offensive line through the draft and also pick up one of the promising tight ends, even though the tight end position is thin in this year's draft.
Bella check and trade out of his first round pick and acquire a second.
Maybe, ah, fourth round bouche.
I could get a good tight out in the second round and build receivers and the liar.
Build those receivers in the line in the third.
Or he could trade up and get another second round pick and pick up a receiver Higher.
The depth at the wide receiver in 2020 in the draft allows ballot check some freedom to address his pass catchers.
If Ballack shackle axe to build the offense through the draft, and he can afford to bring back both Tom Brady and Devin McCourty, the only future position that ballot check will have to be back for a year until a year or two gives him time to find a replacement or allow Jared Stem to develop into a starter.
Don't forget the Patriots got Jimmy Garoppolo in the second round.
He wasn't a top 10 pick.
The Patriots defensively have cornerbacks Jacey Jackson and Juan Williams, linebacker Jawan Bentley, defensive and Chase win a ***** ballot check and re signed Jamie Collins in the land in Robert's, Adam Butler and Danny Shelton and focused on making the defense younger in 2021.
Let's also not forget that the Patriots still have all all Pro and defensive player of the year Stefan Gilmore, which will keep the Patriots defense competitive if the Patriots address 2020 properly, New England may not have to face two or three years of to win seasons.
Maybe the Patriots aren't seeing the Super Bowl contenders for the next few years, and they would probably need a little of lock to win a championship.
But the team could stay competitive and put themselves in a position where they could possibly find themselves in a championship.
Don't forget to Bow Check is also the guru at identifying value talent like Kyle Vanoy, who will perform way above their pay scale.
So though it sounds very appealing to see the Patriots go all in this year and try to win one more championship.
The reality is they could very easily not, and they could be set up for a lot of pain in the future.
Retooling the team and focusing on the now and the future doesn't guarantee a championship, but neither designing a J. Green.
So the decision that Bella Jack needs to make is which path does he want to take in which one he thinks is better for the organization? What's going on, everybody? It's your boy, Ray.
And welcome to my little show here called VPN.
Thank you, everybody for tuning in tonight's lineup, impressing questions that we're going to address out of Pats Nation in the NFL is which three Patriots players need to step up in the 2020 season.
Are the Detroit Rock Lions really thinking of trading Matthew Stafford? And would it be a good move for Detroit? The Bangles will be looking for a good trade situation for Andy Dalton.
Let's talk tonight about where he could end up, and how important is it that the Patriots were able to retain next Rosario? And then I'll be answering your questions from Instagram all that whole lot more here on deep e'en.

We like football.
We like football season and everything that goes with it.
What's crack a lacking? All right, so Bill Belichick needs to figure out some things when it comes to free agency in the draft.
But when we look at the Patriots current roster, which three players need to step up the most next season, two of them are offenses players.
One of them is a defensive player.
Let's start on the defense, and that is a second, maybe third year player now.
Jawan Bentley now badly showed so much promise when he came out in his rookie season, and we thought the combination of him Hightower Van Noy in Atlanta, Roberts would really be dynamite in his first couple of games.
He looked great, got hurt, didn't see him for the rest of the year, came back this year at a great start to the season.
But I gotta admit Guam Bentley kind of faded off a CZ this season went along, and I think with the well, the not the Rio, the very real, Not even just possibility.
The reality that we probably have lost car.
The pages have now lost Kyle Van Noise.
He'll be getting a big money contracts somewhere else.
And there's the possibility that we don't bring back Jamie Collins and possibly a Landon Roberts.
It'll be up to Jawan badly.
To really step up and start playing.
Ah, more important role, especially stopping the past, are the run.
I think one of the more frustrating things about the Patriots this year is they were set up to stop the run, and they just weren't doing it.
Now some of that lands on the front.
Three unfortunate Patriots depth.
That defensive line wasn't deep enough to run a four man set, so they were forced to run a 34 and the linebackers kind of just weren't doing their job.
Atlanta Roberts and Dont'a Hightower did a fairly good job because that's really what they're built for stopping the run.
But John Batley, also known as Thumper, was supposed to be the guy to come in and really just bang people out, bang people home and stop those running backs. Unfortunate.
The Patriots got run over in a few games this year.
We saw it in Baltimore.
We saw it with Nick Chump and, um in Cleveland.
Of course, we saw it with Derrick Henry in the in the wild card game.
And obviously being run over by Derrick Henry is you know it's not the end of the world in the sense, because a lot of teams got run over by Derrick Henry this year.
But when you saw a team like the Kansas City Chiefs and Chris Jones and you know Frank Clark and all those boys are up front that were able to neutralize Derrick Henry.
You realized how important it was to stop the run.
Now a lot of people believe that Bill Balance Check tried to build the defense to beat Patrick and stop Patrick my homes and the Chiefs.
Unfortunately, game this year.
They weren't really able to do that, at least for the first half of the game, and it kind of just went forward.
So Jawan Bentley's a guy who's really going to step up and become a core person in that.
In that defense, let's not forget in his rookie year, they had the green sticker on him. He was calling the plays.
The Patriots believed that they could get a lot out of this kid, and it's gonna be really important that he continues with his development.
Now the next two guys are offensive players, and the first guy that I'm gonna talk about, I think will be no surprise to anybody.
He had very let's call it underachieving, maybe disappointing.
Missed half the season due to injury, missed all the preseason, came back.
Look at moments like he could be a big threat to the Patriots or for the Patriots, but he never really panned out.
That's the keel, Harry.
Now I think that if the Patriots and get some receiver help, whether that's bringing in a veteran like A J.
Green, Amari Cooper or going into the draft and getting one of these explosive players out of the draft, it could knock Nikkila Harry back to like the third or fourth spot right now.
Take some pressure off of him, let him develop.
Unfortunately for the Patriots, they don't have anybody, including the Kill Harry.
That can stretch the field.
And I think that's where the draft and come into play this year.
And if that's gonna be the case, Nikkila.
Harry will be more of the big, tough guy we've talked about in the past, the possibility of him playing in that Gronk sort of role, playing the strength, doing the fade routes, being tough, that kind of thing.
But when you look at that whole situation with the keel Harry, he just flat out needs to perform better.
He needs to learn how to create separation.
There's a lot of things that McKeel Harry needs to do better in 2020 if the Patriots want to be successful, even if they get wide receiver help.
Bill Belichick is the general manager, and a lot of people do.
I think he's made a lot of good trades.
I think he's made a lot of good draft picks.
Joe Tooni, you know Shock Mason, Marcus Cannon, Trade Flowers, Jamie Collins, Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, Malcolm Mitchell for one year and the list goes on and on and on.
A Land Roberts, Adam Butler, Malcolm Brown.
There's a lot of players associate with a Bill balletic draft.
One place he really seems to be missing is when he's bringing in his skilled players.
The Patriots used 1/3 of the 32nd overall pick on him last year.
Nikkila Harry needs to play like a first round wide receiver, or at least the high second round wide receiver.
One of the bigger problems the Patriots have on the offense right now is they're homegrown talent.
When it comes to the wide receiver just has not developed and they're not.
Guys aren't performing on these rookie deals.
I think there was hopes that Jacoby Meyers in the keel Harry would be really contribute contributors to the Patriots this year that they would come out, that they would be cheap options and unfortunately, because the killer hair he didn't live up to the expectations.
There's now all this rumor about Tom Brady wanted weapons before he'll agree to come back to the Patriots.
And because of that, Thank you, Harry.
Or they are because of that Bill.
Ballot Shack is forced to either, you know, again, use another first round draft pick on a wide receiver or he's gonna be forced to spend big money on someone like a Cooper or a green to try that, you know, to get Brady those kind of weapons.
And it just wasn't working.
And one of the other reason that the offensive wasn't working this year's the run game couldn't get going.
Now you could put a lot of that on the offensive line.
Unfortunately, David Andrews went down.
Which four? Ted caress his son.
I know he did a great job, but with him having a play centre, it took some depth way.
Isaiah Wind gets hurt after two games and we're stuck with Marshall Newhouse and the running game couldn't get going, but Sony Michelle had a big sop****re slump this year.
I don't think that we can turn around and deny that.
Sony Michelle did not look like the guy that he was a rookie.
He didn't look like the guy that basically put the Patriots offense on his back in the playoffs and ran them into the end zone and ran them to the Super Bowl.
Sony Michelle made some bad decisions this year.
We talked about it in my life, played by Reyes.
We talked about it in just the regular show.
Ivan fears talked about it.
The Patriots long term, you know, long, long, long running back coach, said that Sony Michelle just wasn't making the right place.
And one thing about Sony Michelle that we learned this year, especially Michelle's not gonna run people over.
Michelle is more of an elusive running back.
I don't think you can look at him and count him and consider him a power back.
So because of that, Michelle is gonna have to make sure that he's making the right decisions.
Hitting the right holes bounce into the outside when he needs to.
He tries to put on those little delays, kind of like a Lavy on Belle type of action.
But he needs to make better decisions, and that's where he needs to stop up going into his third year, We need Sony Michelle now to play like a first round running back.
We need to get the value out of him.
We got what one more year left on his rookie deal, maybe a 50 year option.
He's gonna cost money the next couple of years.
He's still probably one of the top 15 running backs in the league.
But I think if the Patriots really you're gonna have success on offense is here.
We're gonna have to see Soni Michelle play like a top 10 or top, you know, maybe even closer to a top five running back. Now.
That's gonna be difficult because there's some good running backs in the league.
But the Patriots offense needs to perform.
Bala check is gonna have his running backs.
You're gonna have Damien Harris.
You're gonna have James White.
You're gonna have Sony Michelle possibly have Rex Burkhead.
I believe that Birkhead is probably leaving the Patriots this year, but he's one of the options, but Sony Michelle is going to be the primary running back.
We've seen, uh, doll attack and Josh McDaniels commitment to making Sony Michelle their premier running back.
So if the Patriots, they're gonna have success, if the Patriots are going to do it, he's gonna have to step up his game.
He's gonna have to put up better yards.
He's gonna have to do way better on his goal line offense.
The fact that there were depending on the land and Roberts and Tom Brady to run balls in fromthe one yard line is is not a good look for Sony. Michelle.
And we saw a huge difference.
Michelle ran the ball 209 times for 931 yards.
76 are six touchdowns.
You know, six touchdowns, 931 yards.
He was averaging 4.
5 yards per run, 2019.
He ran the ball like 38 more times, but he only ran for 912 yards.
You did punch in seven touchdowns, but it was averaging 3.
7 yards per carry.
He was just a little bit over a yard last per carry.
That can't be acceptable.
Going into the are going into this season.
He needs to be back at that 4.
7 type of thing now.
In fairness, in his one playoff game this year, he ran the ball 14 times for 16 61 yards, and he was averaging 4.
4 yards per carry.
That's what we need to see him as a season.
He was averaging 4.
7 yards per carry in the playoffs last year.
I think he was also every put in six touchdowns in last year's playoffs in three games.
He put in none against Tennessee Titans this year.
So we need Sony Michelle to step up and play better next season.
If the Patriots want to be successful now, I want to go look at a couple of stories around the NFL before we finish off with another Patriots, another Patriot story, and then we'll get into the Instagram questions and I'll try to answer your questions the best that I can to the best of my ability.
So there've been rumors floating around that the Detroit Lions have been discussing a Matthew Stafford trade, but then the lines GM Bob Quinn was asked about it today via tax, and he responded that that story is quote 100% false.
Ah, there seems to be no reason not to believe Quinn, but just for fun.
If the rumors were true, does it even make sense for the Lions to move on from Matthew Stafford right now? Now? I mean, if you're looking at long term solution staffers, what, 32 years old? There's a lot of rumors that Detroit is going to draft to of this year.
So maybe you could try to make the argument.
Hey, man, they're going to get to a time to move on from Stafford.
I don't think the Detroit Lions could afford to go into this season with a rookie quarterback, even one like to, uh, Detroit's been put on notice. Man.
Detroit has been put on notice that when I mean Detroit, I mean Quinn and Matt Patricia.
They've been told by the owner that they expect the payer.
They expect Detroit to be a playoff caliber team this year.
Patricia is gonna be in his third years to coach.
I think Quinn's been the GM since what, 2016 or something like that, They need something happened last year's very disappointing year for them 3 12 and one.
We're expecting a lot more out of the out of the out of the lines last year.
And you know, some people are thinking that, you know, cause Stafford went down.
That was one of the big things.
He was having a great year, and he really was.
But I think their record was still like 34 and one when Stafford went down, they didn't have a winning record when Matthew Stafford got injured.
So it's not like I can turn around, really say like, Oh, yeah, you know what I mean, They're on track.
It's not like they were five and wine or are six in two, and it looks like it's gonna be good.
They were still, they still had a losing record.
But when you got the kind of pressure that Detroit has this year, it's gonna be very difficult for them to move on for Stafford.
Also, Stafford's contract doesn't allow for them, the kind of one.
So he redid his contract and I'm sure as we talking one over the count, just look at the Detroit Sokka.
But they redid his contract this year this year to spread over some of the salary cap, and I believe the way it works.
If I read this properly today, his is dead.
Cap is gonna be like 21.
6 million this season.
But if he was going Thio, um, if they traded him or flat out released him, is dead capital p 32 million.
That's not a whole lot.
Men like that's not a hole that, er, I mean, that's a whole line try to move on from him.
So it doesn't even make sense for them to even try to move on from Matthew Stafford from a pure salary standpoint.
And they got about 45 million in cap room so Detroit could be buyers in this year's free agency market.
They really could.
And when you think about it, they could go after one of the top receivers.
They could go after some offensive lineman they could add to their defense.
There's a lot of people who believe they could see a I'll Van Noy in the Detroit Lions.
Vanoy played under Matt Patricia in New England.
They want a Super Bowl together back in 2016.
Trey Flowers is with Detroit right now so they can build up that defense.
We all know what Van noise capable of.
He'd be going to a familiar defense.
He'd be going with coach, he knows.
So I think they could also be looking at me with some of the tight ends in the league.
There's a lot of ways that Detroit can improve themselves with the with the cap, but it has to happen now.
It has to happen now for them because if they don't make the playoffs this year or at least show that there is somewhat of a playoff team, their jobs are done.
So I see no cir***stance with Bob.
Quinn thinks it's a good idea to move on from Matthew Stafford.
I don't think, too.
It gets an opportunity to play this year outside of the preseason, no matter how bad things were going, unless it gets really bad and they both know their jobs are over and they want to just give the kid a shot.
So I know the rumors are out there.
I know there's a lot of people in Detroit that are talking about this possibility of Matthew Stafford moving on are being traded from Detroit.
I think that Bob Quinn's 100% you know, basically is no way no how you know his version of that, I think tells us now that tells us I think that they'll be okay and that Matthew Stafford on the team this year, it will be interesting to see what Detroit does.
It'll be interesting to see how they perform is a team this year.
You know, I was just talking yesterday about their cornerback Darius Slay, and now he's gonna be looking for big money.
So it's gonna be interesting.
It's gonna be a very, very interesting time to be a Lions fan now.
Reports also emerged today that the Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to work with Andy Dalton on possible trade scenarios.
Cincinnati says that they want to do their best to make sure that Dalton feels comfortable where he's traded and that Dalton will have a little bit of saying his final destination.
So with that being said, where could Andy Dalton land? And you know the way we're looking at it here when we're thinking about where can Andy Dalton land? It's got to be a team that needs a quarterback but aren't gonna be drafting Joe Borough, you know.
And that's why, and dogs getting bumped from Cincinnati anyways.
It's also gonna depend on a couple of other things.
Philip Rivers is a free agent.
Ryan Tan a lt's a free agent.
Tom Brady's obviously a free agent.
I think it's James Winston, a free agent, so you know it's gonna be It's gonna be interesting to see what kind of teams will be interest in an adult.
I know that there's been some rumors that perhaps the Patriots would be interested in worker than Andy Dalton.
I know that people have said that Bill Baljic believes he could play in win with Andy Dalton.
I know Patriot fans.
We don't want it to happen.
We've seen some pages.
Fans like my boy Tyson over master works.
They bring him in, let you know, let's bring in this scab.
Let's let's tank the season and let's have an opportunity to get a big quarterback next year, so I don't buy the Andy Dalton thing.
I don't think Dogs is coming to New England.
I still believe that Tom Brady's going to sign with the Patriots.
So where could he go.
And who would want him? Chicago.
They need. They need a quarterback.
I mean, they have to regret the midst Robiskie draft.
But Andy Dalton really gonna come into Chicago and be a significant upgrade.
He'll be an upgrade over Travis Key.
Don't get me wrong, but will he be a significant upgrade that I don't? I don't think so.
Could he possibly go to Indianapolis and replace Jacoby percent? Is that an upgrade? Is that ah, you know, Is that the same? The charges just moved on from one veteran sort of aging wired quarterback who isn't quite what it used to be in Philip Rivers.
Are they gonna want to take a shot on Andy Dalton? So, I mean, it's really interesting what Cincinnati is gonna do with them and who's gonna be interested in bringing him in.
I don't think that Dalton's gonna be comfortable going in as a backup quarterback, So it's gonna have to be a team that's sitting there going like, No, we need him as a starter.
But that really narrows down the options of who they can bring in and who they're gonna and who he could actually be a solid commodity for draft assets.
Franny, Dalton I think Ryan Fitzpatrick is going back to Miami.
The Jets and the Bills have their quarterback situation set.
Like I said in the A F C East, it's really only the Patriots who have been linked to Dalton.
But there's been really know, I don't know, really, you know, sustainable.
No sustainable reports coming out that they want, that Baltimore has their their quarterback.
The Steelers owner came out today and said that RGM Whatever came out and said today that Ben Roethlisberger is nowhere near done.
I can't see Baker Mayfield losing his job.
The tax is out there, their quarterback.
I believe Ryan Tannehill is going to go back to Tennessee.
You know, Jacksonville has Minshew and Nick Foles.
Do they really want to bring on an Andy Dalton? Because they got a lot of quarterback problems there.
So right now, really, Indies were the only kind of valuable team in the A F C.
Kansas City's got Patrick Holmes.
Denver's got what is Drew? Lock the Raiders.
Is adult in an upgrade? Not really the Chargers.
Maybe they could be a possible trade candidate.
I mean the Eagles have whence the Cowboys have dak.
The Giants have.
Ah, what's his name here, there? Jones.
Maybe looks at an Andy Dalton.
You know, the NFC North is only Chicago.
They're not gonna trade.
Detroit's not gonna trade Matthew Stafford for Dalton.
The Vikings have, you know, Mr Overpaid and in Green Bay has Mr Over.
No, they have Aaron Rodgers.
I mean, New Orleans has an opportunity to re sign Drew Brees.
They have an opportunity to re sign Teddy Bridgewater.
They have an opportunity to let taste some help, either quarterback, So I can't see that happening.
Matt Ryan's in Atlanta.
Tampa Bay could be a possibility for Andy Dalton if they're sick of James Winson throwing 30 interceptions.
But he just went and got his LASIK eye surgery today, so maybe that helps him.
The Panthers is an intriguing team because we're all just gonna happen with Cam Newton.
There was a report, I think, the king our chemo yesterday, that Carolina doesn't want to make any decisions.
But what they're gonna do with Cam Newton Delano was overall health 40.
Niners won't want him.
The Rams won't want him.
The Seahawks won't want him.
Arizona won't want him.
They're all set a quarterback.
So it's not like there's a lot of big trading options out there. Franny. Dalton.
You know, basically, you have a slight possibility of the Patriots.
You have a slight possibility of Indianapolis.
A slight possibility of the Chargers, I think a better possibility of Washington.
Maybe a good possibility of Chicago.
That could be the team.
Maybe Tampa Bay, maybe Carolina.
That's really it, though.
The options are very slim of where you're gonna trade him.
So I don't know how much.
Dalton's gonna have to the end of the day.
You got to take the best deal and you're Cincinnati.
I mean, if the Patriots want him, you can't worry that he's gonna go win a Super Bowl with the Patriots.
If that's the best deal that comes, you got to give it to him.
If you're a Patriots fan, while the we'll just have to deal with the fact that handy tall tins the quarterback all right, men.
So that's it about Andy Dalton again, it's gonna be interesting to see where he shows up.
This is a really just interesting offseason altogether.
When it comes to the NFL, I know that Tom Brady's dominated headlines, but there's really a lot of intriguing teams that are gonna need to move on from players.
Teams that need players.
You know, upcoming free agents do aren't quarterbacks.
It's gonna be a really a really, really crazy year.
But look at the beginning of the off season, it looked like there was a good chance that the Patriots were gonna lose both their offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels, and their director of player personnel, Nick Cesario.
And as things worked out, McDaniel's home got passed on by a bunch of teams, and he's still with the Patriots.
And yesterday, the great news broke that the Patriots were able to extend next Cesario.
I guess the question is, how important is it that the Patriots are able to retain those two guys and look without knowing the inner workings of New England? Without knowing, you know, that we were being that dressing room and really knowing how how the coaching staff works and not having a single inside source as a fan of the New England Patriots? I think that that was a huge move.
Keep in Caesarea.
We all and I mean, we all heard the Houston rumors last year.
They wanted to bring a man.
The Patriots blocked it.
They, uh they filed tampering charges against the tax ins and all that kind of stuff it looked like for sure.
This is our egos at the door and the Patriots, you know.
And I'm telling you, this extension kind of caught me off guard.
I thought Caesarea was almost done with New England.
I have had so much turnover lately, right man Patricia Brian Flores, Chad O'Shea, Jerry Sandusky.
A lot of guys moving over Dante Scarnecchia has retired.
The Patriots need some continuity.
They're already losing a nucleus of players this year that a free agents that were instrumental to Super Bowl wins for the Patriots.
So they needed some sort of continuity to keep the team to gather and continuity.
Thio To make things kind of okay and at least having those two guys bring some sort of, I don't know, normality to the Patriots could have in Cesario and Josh McDaniels on the team improved the Patriots chances of re signing Tom Brady.
I think it does.
Cesario has a good relationship with Dawn G.
Obviously, Bill Belichick is not negotiating these these contracts.
It's all Nick Cesario who does that? Bilbao check.
That's the final saying kind of toss Cesario, who we've got to talk to and what they got to do.
Oh, that's on the phone, figuring this stuff out so that relationship with Dawn he's important.
You know, I think Tom Brady is.
He's gonna hit free agency.
That board, he said it at him and Robert Craft agreed, would be best for him, too, to hit free agency.
And if he doesn't like what's out there, come back home, you know, almost like a proud father saying, Explore the world, son.
And then you can come back in.
You know, you can do what you gotta d'oh! I think Craft will be really disappointed in Brady.
I think it will seriously affect their relationship if he were to leave, but that's that's a whole another story altogether.
But I think that having those guys can be very instrumental to bring back Tom Brady.
I think you'd be instrumental to maybe re signing guys like Jamie Collins, Devin McCourty, Matthew Slater, those will all be important pieces for the Patriots, too.
Keep to gather on the team.
But if you're gonna lose the nucleus of players, at least you have this nucleus of coaches.
It would have been nice if Scar gave them one more season, but I think it was super.
I think it was important.
You know, I'm looking, you know, my boy Bobby over on SportsCastrs saying he was surprised, too with Nick.
I think a lot of people were I think a lot of us just assume that Nick Caesarea was done with the Patriots.
You know what Belichick said it in One of those, um, you know, do your job.
Do***entary Cesario does more than the average general manager in the league.
Not only is the guy, you know, doing all the player personnel stuff in his staff and meeting with the scouts and all that kind of thing.
And don't forget, Desire has got a big piece of what happens in the draft.
And, you know, I don't know.
I just It surprised me that he's here and I'm happy that he's back, and I hesitated there because Bobby just dropped the question on me.
that I will address later on.
So hang on body.
But but it kind of made me go home.
I'm gonna hold the rest of you in suspense before I give my answer.
But yeah, I mean, it's Ah, I think it's I think it's a good thing for the Patriots.
I think it's a good thing for the continuity.
I think it's going all right, guys.
So every day on my instagram story, I put on a post and asked me a question about anything that you guys may want to know.
It could be about football.
It can be about sports.
Could be about politics.
Me, It doesn't matter.
You asked the question.
I will answer it.
You may not like the answer, but I'll answer it.
So what I'm doing now is every time I put those things out instead of Andrew Lemonde Instagram, I'm gonna be answering them right here on SportsCastr every single night.
And obviously, YouTube, you'll see the replay.
So if you want to follow me, if you want to ask the question, you can either watch the SportsCastr live stream link of the description of her on YouTube and ask your questions there.
Or you can ask your questions in my story on Instagram and you can follow me there at DP An underscore Ray.
So I got a lot of questions that came on Instagram.
But a bunch of them were repeats, so I have made a rare kind of the same.
So I managed to kind of put him together, and I got seven questions here for you.
So number one who your five favorite non Patriots players ever.
And when I read that question, I was like, Oh, man, that's a tough one because I could name my top five patriots ever.
I can in my top 20 Patriots ever.
But those non five.
So this is no particular order.
This is just too alike.
Eddie George's one a zoo.
A lot of you guys know him an OS you guy Eddie, George OS, you legend.
And, um I mean, I love the name Eddie.
George, Andy Georges, the Onley jersey I ever owned.
That wasn't a patriots jersey.
I didn't wear it often, but I have No, I had a no es you a rad o s u Ah, Eddie, George Jersey and I had a Tennessee Titans George, you're not a fan of Tennessee.
Titans didn't wear the jersey often, but as a big fan of Eddie George the most, because I'm annoyed because I'm in Ohio.
Guy needs a legend of Ohio.
That's why a Georgia on my list y own both of jerseys.
Ray Lewis is one of the guys that love that.
I was at a lot of respect for Ray Lewis on the field.
I know we had some some extracurricular stuff that I'm gonna choose not to talk about.
Put on the field is a great leader, great player motivator.
Hated him and a Ravens jersey, but respected the hell out of them.
One of the guys are love is a current player in the league.
It's Odell Beckham Jr Man.
I'm a huge fan of Odell.
I know a lot of people are fans of Odell, and he's kind of one of those guys unless is on your team. But I love Odell.
I love his passion.
I had no problem with him kicking the kickers net In my day.
I kicked a lot of things when I was on the football field or coming off the football field.
I had zero issues with that.
So I'm a big Odell guy.
I think he's the best receiver in the National Football League.
I don't think he's one of the best receivers.
I think he's the best receiver in the National Football League.
On top of that, the man does nothing but praise.
Tom Brady said it was his dream to play with the Goat.
Gave the guy gave Tom Brady goat for cleats.
Guy makes crazy ass one handed catches makes a pitiful Eli Manning look like a decent quarterback.
And he's got more hair styles and more hair colors.
And I can remember, so I'm a big fan of ah O P J Man always have been.
You don't believe me.
I'll show you tax messages between me.
My boy Sean, since he's a rookie about how much I like total back in junior, another current guy that I think everybody in the NFL likes.
I haven't even heard Taison, who's the best smack talker, and nobody's off limits.
I haven't even heard Tyson take a shot at this guy, but it's J. J. Watt.
I love the way J J plays I love J.
Is a person I love fall on him on Twitter I love every day I I retweet J J.
The air gets more as many tweets I retweet as many re tweets from From J.
Watt as I do from Patriots players.
When people ask me if I could have one player on the team salary, Capital matter, Reality doesn't matter.
J. Watt is always one of those guys.
Huge fan of J. J.
Watt and my 5th 1 might surprise you guys, but it's Kurt Warner.
I'm a big fan of court.
I was a big fan of him when he played.
I hated the Rams, but I was a big fan of Warner When he played for Arizona.
I was cheering for him to win the Super Bowl against the Steelers for more than just him.
Um, and I kind of struggled because it was between Kurt Warner and, ah, Larry Fitz, Larry Fitzgerald.
But actually going with Warner, you know, Warner's a guy when he's playing Arena League football.
I think he was a bagger at a grocery store when he got the call to come play for the Rams.
Um, and also, I mean, the guy's probably the most complimentary Tom Brady, former player, media guy, ever.
I mean, he worships the ground he walks on when everybody else is saying that Tom Brady's done its current Warner.
That's all him and Teddy Bruschi that are always coming to his defense.
But you got to take what Kurt Warner says the heart because is a former quarterback.
So those are my five non Patriots players that I love.
Um, I got this question about nine different times asked nine different ways.
But do you think that Brady comes back to the Patriots? I knew the question was coming.
I should have wrote it down before you guys even asked it.
Of course, I think he's coming back.
I've said it 100 and 50 times anything. He's coming back.
This is a good question here.
Do you think gaggle or or Hagen's would be decent with Tom? So I had to think about this one for a minute, actually, had to give this one some thought.
I think that Nelson haggle or could be a guy to help the Patriots.
The patrons could use his speed.
You know he can take the top off of the defense.
The Patriots don't have that.
They haven't had that stretch guys since Brandin cooks.
I think he's a guy that could take the top off 2017 and 2018 where his best seasons he had an off year in 2019 and really is 2019 season looked a lot like his 2016 and 2015 season.
But back in 2017 and a great Super Bowl, he destroyed the Patriots in the area.
The great playoff.
He destroyed the Patriots in the Super Bowl? Um, I I think he's a guy that could could use a change of scenery.
He should be a mid range sort of free agent.
He's not one of the tier one guy, just probably could tear, too.
He's probably really affordable, and I think he could fit the Patriot system.
Now, Rashard Higgins.
I'm not a fan off.
I don't know what happened in Cleveland last year.
I even tried reading about it today to see what happened in Cleveland last year.
You kind of disappeared off the face of the earth.
He finished the year of five catches for 55 yards and one touchdown he played almost the whole season.
Um, he doesn't have the speed that the Patriots need.
He struggles to get away from defenders.
You know, Cleveland gave up on him, and basically I just gave up.
Um, yeah, he's another guy that could use a change of scenery.
I just think when we're trying to build weapons around brainy Rashard Higgins is not the guy.
I don't see him as a fit in New England, which tight and will fit the patriotsoffense.
Hooper or Henry? I think they both with the offense.
I think they both be great.
I prefer Austin Hooper only because of his longevity in his health.
Now that could be jinxing it.
So I'll knock on Wood in case he does come to the Patriots.
Hunter Henry start with a lot of injury issues that worries me about him coming to the Patriots.
All right, thank you for and thank you.
Ready for your questions? That should be asking.
You are thinking you do the Patriots address the defense and free agency or the draft.
I already kind of said tonight I think it will be the 2021 draft.
Maybe they bring in a couple of guys this year.
I know there's been some talk about them drafting a safety in the first round.
I think a lot of what Tom Brady does is going to be dependent on what Bill Belichick does in the draft.
Wouldn't surprise me if they didn't trade out of the first and they used it and picked up with a safety or a quarterback.
Probably is safety, because that's the oldest part of the patriotssecondary.
The Patriots cornerbacks are pretty young, um, so I think it would all come down to to that.
We have to me, Um, that's how I think they're gonna do it and I think they might get some defensive tackles, Things like defensive tackles.
You can pick up pretty cheap.
You can pick up some cheap linebackers.
They'll probably do that.
But I see it more happening through the draft, maybe a little bit this year, more next year.
This is a good one.
If Joe Tooni leaves to the Patriots, draft an interior linemen and keep Isaiah win a tackle or move win to guard and draft a tackle.
Here's the best part about having Isaiah win.
The Patriots can look at the draft and actually make their decision based on who would be available.
If if the tackles that are available are better than the interior guys, then you can switch over and put Isaiah win over there.
I've also heard rumors of the possibility of the Patriots cutting Marcus Cannon.
If that's the case, then your draft in a couple of tackles, then I think you're taking interior and exterior guys and you're gonna fit Isaiah win where every fits.
The only thing about when is I know he played on both sides in um ah, in Georgia, but to me, he's more of a left side guy.
I can't see him making that shift to the right.
When you look at his footwork, if he ever has to come over and do it, sort of Ah, right tackle move, which left tackles will have to do.
You can see him struggle when I'm watching an offensive line.
If you're watching offensive line, don't watch their hands.
I know people are always worried about their hands like people always like all Look at his hands.
Hands can be improved Really easy.
I actually, when I was a lifeguard, I had, like, decent hands.
But I had a fantastic footwork and my footwork saved my life because I could use my shoulder, my chest to get in front of guys and make sure I was doing the proper block.
My hand to get pushed off of my body was always in the way and I could re engage.
So just those guys who get away from my engagement, my footwork was so sound, they were.
Heart was hard to get around me, and I know I'm a bigger guy, but I'm a small guy for a lineman.
When I was alive when I was six foot, even I'm still so you know, I'm six foot one now.
When I first started 64 they finished at six foot one, the heaviest I ever Wade.
When I was playing football was £210 so I was always an undersized lineman.
But I had such good footwork that was able to keep myself in front of the of the defender and not letting the the pocket collapse to me.
Isaiah Win done and sorry.
That little story about me playing guard was especially for our boy Rhino, that we'll be watching the replay because he loves the glory day stories.
Ah, but Isaiah Win, on the other hand, has great left side feet.
I've seen him have to make right tackle moves because of the way the defender came in and he didn't have it.
He got himself in a lot of trouble.
Now it's also weird.
I've had to do right tackle moves on the left side, er, and do things that it's It's a weird thing, Um, because of his lack of foot movement.
That's my only worry about the interior, especially if they want to use him as a pulling guard.
Um, you have to be very athletic.
To be a guard, you have to have great footwork to be a guard.
Ah, you know, And I mean an offensive guard.
I'll tell you, like we just can't we always wait for for for a pull 34 Quick pitch was my pole.
You know, I knew when I was pulling was 34.
Quick picture This day I remember the play and we're going back a lot of years and 34 quick pictures.
My favorite called them and I got to pull to the right, and I got to hit some people down the field.
Um, so that would be my concern with that.
So But I think, though, that you have the options of where you want to go now.
Before I answer this last question, I answer Bobbie's question because as good as Bobbie's question was, this last question was actually better.
Her, said it was more of a comment to a question.
But he said Scarnecchia has said that he would leave of Brady left.
Coincidence with a question mark.
I'm gonna be honest with you, Bobby.
I never heard that before.
That's what made me pause.
And I'm thinking, Well, you know what? All this time I've been talking about how Tom Brady's gonna come back to the team, and I got full confidence of it.
I don't know if he's gonna be good, but I think he's gonna come back.
What if Scar actually said that it Scarnecchia ever actually came out and said, If Brady leaves, I'm gone, Huh? What does he know? That we don't? Or does he not want to risk it and wants to give Bala check enough time to find somebody It's an interesting theory, and I'll tell you guys the truth.
I'm gonna be doing more research on this.
I'll start throwing out conspiracy theories.
I mean, it's February 13th and I'm already struggling to find content.
You know what I mean? Like it's, That's the law.
This is usually when I start my off season.
The Patriots have been to the Super Bowl since I started this channel.
This air since I started my YouTube channel I've only been on sports have been on SportsCastr less than a month or at last in a year.
But when I started my YouTube channel, they've been to the super.
So my offseasons we're always talking to Blake started in February.
I'm already out of content because I've been going just the beginning of January.
I should have taken a break, to be honest with you.
My plan is just so you guys know, too, is to take a break in April, get through March, get through the whole free agency than take a couple weeks.
I'll be going away at the beginning of April on vacation of Florida.
I plan on doing nothing when I'm down there.
First time ever, ever that I'm taking a vacation and not posting.
I posted from ST Lucia from Florida from the cottage I've posted from everywhere, at least on the YouTube, I will be taking a full brake.
No blog's no blog's no SportsCastr, no nothing.
And I may take a break in April right up to the draft.
Maybe come back a week before to set up the draft and then go to the draft.
But I got to get rested and Bobby said it right. I gotta get rested.
I gotta rest my brain.
Then they've got to be ready to go.
But anyways, I'm gonna do my research on that, Bobby, because I really interest me.
The last question I got was should the Patriots draft Jordan love and I didn't give Jordan love a lot of thought yet, but because the question came, I started doing my research.
And Jordan love is a very, very intriguing piece.
If you look at his draft profile, it's much better than Jared Stadiums.
There's a lot of draft guys that I respect, so I get a lot of my draft ****ysis from the draft network.
That's my favorite place.
They have some guys that got some guys that do some drafting stuff there.
Crabs and Reed, who are the big boys on the draft network.
Oh, and they all kind of said the same thing.
So I'll give you one of these.
Ah, give You reads reads that Reid had the best one.
I think no crabs had the best one crabs at the best.
One is that Jordan Love has franchise quarterback qualities and should be regarded as a prospect with a Pro Bowl ceiling.
Statistical regression in 2019 isn't indicative of her get of regression and skill or decision making.
He was a victim of poor supporting cast.
In many instances, Love will need patience and must go to a team with coaching staff able to nurture, develop and cater passing schemes to where he thrives.
He isn't a plug and play, but he has the potential of being a game changing quarterback.
And I thought to myself, You know, what? A place at the Utah State, by the way, go look up some of his film now.
Unfortunately, a lot of the film on Jordan love is his long bombs.
He makes a lot of batter decisions and reads, and he can't get to me.
He can't read a defense and l s u There's a tape on informal issue and l s u plummeted him because he couldn't read the defense.
But he's an interesting guy because if there's any system that can build it to a player strength, it's the Patriots.
What the Patriots do best is putting their players in unwinnable situations.
Now he would be a high draft pick like you'd be like a second rounder.
CBS Sports has him as the 33rd best, um, best prospect in the draft.
He could even go in the first, But I'm kind of looking at this thing that compare him to a call and Kaepernick.
That's the sort of comparison that they're giving him.
He's got really good arm strength again, decision making, his biggest problem.
But he's got no riel, discernible red flags.
He'd be a project.
He wouldn't be a NFL ready quarterback this season, but with some development.
I mean, I think if it's between Jordan Love and Jared Stadium, I'm 100% going with Jordan love.
But it's tough because the Patriots could use those picks to get a tight end or a wide receiver, and it be a tough decision to bring them this year to bring in a project.
And that's where I kind of get screwed up about it.
When I look at it, I'm kind of like man like he's a project player, you know? And really Jared Stadium.
He lived up to his, ah, his draft ****ysis.
That's why I love the draft network.
If you guys watch the draft network to give you the best ****ysis on players, I like to read their stuff before I go out and and ah, and do it and then watch this film.
And, yeah, I've heard that the Colts are really interested in love.
And you know what? He could fit that you know I love could fit the Colts system.
For those of you on YouTube, it's one of the sports guys two people that said a lot of colds fans want.
Indeed, he used his 13th to get love.
Ah, but it's too early for him, and it is to her.
That's the thing, right? And the Patriots don't have a second round draft pick, so they're using the 23rd.
Seems like it's too early for for love.
And that's why I don't think the Patriots draft him.
And I know you shouldn't look at the draft like that.
I know you should look at that.
But when it comes to, you know, in the NFL draft is really one of the only dress where positional need is really important.
Like when you look at NHL draft, even MBA drafts like they tried to draft for position, but you dropped the best player available.
The NFL, You're drafting your positional needs and you know, quarterback is a positional need for the Patriots.
But if they believe they're competitive in 2020 they should be looking at offensive linemen.
They should be looking at tight end.
You should be looking at wide receivers, and he used the 23rd pick on Jordan.
Love is a problem for the bell.
A check to get up high enough in the second round is he would have to move thirds or trade out of his first and get a second in a couple of third and try to trade into the second cause.
I still think they need to use a second round pick to get a tight end.
So the balance check would have to give up some assets in some draft capital to get it a love and he'd still be a project.
So, yeah, it's it's a bit of a problem.
It's a bit of a problem and a good point here.
You know, you could trade back, but the guy you want isn't there.
So, uh, I don't know, it's ah, it's Ah, Jordan loves an interesting candidate.
And maybe if the Patriots were desperate for a quarterback, I could see them making the move the 2020 seasons.
Very as I said at the beginning of my of my show, the 2020 Seasons, a very procure ius off season for the Patriots.
And I just think that Jordan love doesn't fit into those plans.
And it's almost too bad because he could be a guy.
If you guys remember going back to 2020 18 draft and anybody who was president make chicken vlogs would have been there for this.
Anybody was president and remembers my my drunk of log from ST Lucia.
I mean, but leading up to that draft, I was pumping the tires that I wanted Lamar Jackson and I took a lot of **** from Patriots fans for it, But I like Lamar.
I wanted Lamar Jackson.
Oh, yeah, I was trying to find my hotel room, too.
I couldn't find my hotel room, but I wanted Lamar Jackson and I was so upset when the Patriots took Sony, Michelle and and then Baltimore traded up and got Jackson with the next pick.
I was so ****ed.
But, um, yeah, but and I think love is one of those players that it would be a very, very interesting pick.
Well, one I just don't think was gonna happen more because of the Patriots scenario right now, compared to his talent and without being said, guys, that is it for me for the night.
Thank you to everybody who tuned in Pats fans, Colts fans, everybody's fans.
I really appreciate it.
Thank you to SportsCastr for giving me the opportunity to come out here Each.
Talk to Pass Nation Thank you Pats Nation and football fans from around the world for listening to me because without all of you, I would just be a big, fat football fans screaming into a microphone with nobody listening with all that being side thankful, opportunity and guys take care.
