the following takes place between 8 a.m.
Good morning, everybody.
And welcome to BBC radio live.
I am euros D and blended.
And of course, we're gonna jump right into it.
We're gonna bring in our co host. That's right.
He is the man from Rhode Island.
He stands six foot seven.
Still, he hasn't grown a bit.
He is Mr Rhode Island himself.
Here is just waiting while you where it is.
What? That's right.
That's right, folks.
Uh, I messed up the delay, but it's okay.
We're gonna welcome him in anyways.
Mike, how we doing? Look very good, my friend.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Children of all ages.
Degeneration It's proudly proudly brings to you if we're a list like Federation came into the world.
I wish I had a nickname for you.
Well, see, I got I just realized I have to edit out the sign Lee Gap at the start of that because I had everything timed up and that just threw my timing off.
So again Ah, this is what happens when I don't have my normal three cups of coffee.
But we are happy to have you in here we are.
Ah, we're set and ready for a Thursday edition of PC Radio Life.
Ah, it's It's the week's almost over where another week passed without without NFL football.
And I think we're adjusting pretty well.
We're definitely adjusting well going on.
We've been able to transition off of NFL football for a little while, and, you know, it's good.
It's refreshing, my friend.
You know, you we remember that there are other avenues in the world of professional sports to travel down, and I think we've done a pretty good job of covering that so far.
So we'll continue to keep at it, you know, and and going off something that we talked about yesterday, it was a little It was a fun story that you told Ah, you told us.
Um, I actually found if you listened to or watched yesterday, Mike told us about the time he went to ah W W f At the time.
I believe it's still WWF.
Actually, you know what? It was already W w in 2003 rhymes.
Um, so Mike told us about a story about ah whole Kogan confronting Vince McMahon and sending up the big WrestleMania about, uh, and how he attended it.
And he attended it with his friends, and he held up a whole consigned.
Well, guess what, folks? I did a little bit of research, and I found the photo.
Um, uh, yes, that's right.
I I I watched the scene, and unfortunately for me ah, the, uh, w w network offers ah, vast collection off older episodes of various paper views and raw and Smackdown episodes.
So I very easily went and found which one was in the old Bridgeport, Connecticut, in March of 22,013.
And, um, yeah, we found it, and I guess what? I'm going to tweet it out, folks.
So if you're not following us on Twitter and I didn't consult Mike before hand, so Ah, I don't know if that makes me liable for anything.
If he decides he wants to take legal action.
But you know what? Sorry, Mike.
It's just going out here.
So I get your have I have no shame.
Okay, I I think the folks that listeners out there knew that already.
But, um, I will hear he issue showing us sorrow face.
And by that I mean, he's holding up a sign.
He is Theo in the hogan.
So, um, very fairly evident by put Theo in Hogan.
I think that's the way I I think that's the way it should be introduced from.
We could do that. We could do that. I like that. You know, Wolf.
Like I said, we'll have the folks judge for themselves.
Well, like I said, we'll tag.
We'll take a bunch of people in this and we'll ah ah.
You know, see what the reaction is.
But, um, my first reaction.
And again, you know, this.
I was anticipating a very a long day of studying film and trying to pick it out.
But actually, of all your friends, you just jumped off the screen.
And you know what? Everything else that was going on, all I saw when I saw that face and that Yeah, ah, larger than normal knows.
That's why you're my quiches putting off that vibe to everyone about that closed sign.
But now it was It was funny.
and I was happy to be able to find it.
And in fact, he was the only one of his group during that scene that actually came in pretty clear.
So, um, it was great.
It was just just by chance that we got it.
So I'm gonna tweet that out right now.
So if you're not following, we're on at F p c radio.
Check it out on Twitter.
I'm gonna tweet it, and you guys can rip him for it.
And I look at, ah, 17 year younger Mike, Would that would that make you 22? Ah, yes.
That way I would be 22 in that picture.
Yes. Actually, we go. There you go.
Yeah, I'm fresh faced.
You know, fresh out of college, Mike debate.
But, you know, it's funny.
And I wish I had a, uh, a picture like that of myself on on camera.
I'm not aware that I ever got on screen.
I don't think I was ever that close, To be honest, those were some pretty nice seats.
I'm not gonna lie.
Yeah, we got those through a contact.
That was pretty.
That was pretty good.
You know, like I said a friend of mine lived in the Bridgeport area and we went up to visit Hey, had some, uh, some, you know, some contacts and connections down there and not those kind of connections, Not the Italian kind of connections.
But I know Lee legitimate.
Ah, certain ah, group of your your brother's performed that night too.
I they are full blooded, as Italians were on the card.
Yes, and yeah, there were.
There were a lot of full blooded Italians in the front row is well, where we were holding up, those was a connection.
Yes, I know there were a lot of there a lot of pies ons in the the crowd that night in Bridgeport, so Yeah, definitely.
Check out. The picture of star was born that night.
That was the beginning of my sports media journey that leads me here.
Not just kidding.
Well, hey, look, you never know.
It really was a fun night, and it was a good event and getting a chance to see Hulk Hogan of Vincent Van Gogh and on Ed, it's something that not everybody has the chance to know what to do so that was a lot of fun.
I had We had a lot on that.
I'm not gonna lie.
When I when I started re watching that scene, I didn't watch the whole episode because again, I was.
So I was just so eager to hopefully find that I think I'm gonna go back and watch the entire show, because maybe, just, maybe, maybe catch a even clearer shot of you, perhaps doing something a little unsavory.
Maybe, You know, maybe maybe your flash on the crowd or something like that. We don't know.
You know, who knows what Mike was doing at 22 years old? So who knows? You know, you never know what I assure you.
The images will be PG, my friends.
That's that's that I can show you. That was the attitude.
I think it was the attitude error.
Yes, it was the attitude Arab.
No, no attitude from the spies on. No.
Well, I mean I mean, really, I wouldn't blame you, given the tension that was in the room that night again.
Just watching that scene just brought back some some ah, great memories, because I mean, look, I remember very vividly not I mean, I guess it wouldn't be vividly because I didn't recall word for word prior to watching this.
But the second I started watching the the scene, I was like, Oh, I remember this and maybe you know what? Maybe I commented about the whole gun sign back in the day, and I was like, You know what? I wonder if I'm ever gonna meet one of those people.
And what do you know? I still haven't actually met you.
We just talk online? Yes, Absolutely.
That is that that is true.
What? You know, all in actuality, it's just it's it's one of those, you know, one of those moments and happenstance where you look at it and you say, Yeah, you know what? I remember the sign. I remember that.
Yeah, that's yeah.
Back in my immature 22 year old days.
I was actually I was, believe it or not, I was working in politics back then.
So, you know, that was that was probably not the best way to endear myself for a political career political run.
But, you know, I'm I'm here now and we're ready to go.
Are you sure about that? Because given the current state of affairs, I think you'd fit right in.
I mean, at this point, I could probably run for the Democratic nominee.
Waited? Who knows? I mean, at this point, it's like, um and I'm not going to get political.
No, no, I just I think the sigh in the old man says, Oh, you need to say about what? How I feel about the the upcoming election.
So yeah, that's e about it.
Thio who's fun to take a walk down memory lane, and I'm certainly going to go back and watch a few more of those episodes.
In fact, like I told you yesterday, I'm probably gonna eventually go through the whole thing.
I mean, I think I want to get a few of the key ones that we talked about the, you know, Vince buying a WCW that episode, you know, I'm definitely gonna watch that.
That was one of my favorite.
So I'm going to try to go through and watch some of the shows I want to, you know, and, uh oh, you know the other thing I noticed about that episode there was a steel cage match in that correct their waas.
I saw you hanging up there.
That was those young age.
Yes, the cage was suspended above the above the top of the ring, and it's pretty cool to see how they set that up.
How it drops on, they have to anchor it in.
Ah, you know, they really they have that done with science.
Those guys really do a ah, an amazing job getting, you know, transition from one shot to the other.
So you always always fun to see things like that.
It was You know, it's funny because if you think back to like the original cages, you know, the big blue bars with, like, the you know, it was like a four by four foot by four foot hole, you know, gaps.
I mean, it looks so much.
It looks so flimsy back in the day, you know? Ah, now they're like these, like, monster structures that are, like, you know, could probably like, you know, hold up during, like a hurricane.
But I know that those are always fun.
And I don't think I don't remember.
I don't think I was ever fortunate to see a cage match live.
I would have been to so many wrestling events.
You would think I would remember.
But, um, I don't remember what we're talking about 10 minutes ago, so Yeah, it is what it is.
But that doesn't remind me, though, before we jump into everything I do.
Wanna let people know out there.
Yes, you can obviously find our great programming care and full press coverage on SportsCastr on this channel.
And of course, we have just launched are full press NHL channel.
Yes, that's right.
If you're not following it already, head over to at full Press NHL here on SportsCastr and give it a follow.
We're gonna start knocking out quite a bit of great NHL content.
So, um, yeah, I definitely check that out and give it a follow.
And, yeah, keep your eyes open for stuff like that.
So there's a lot of stuff going on.
Mike, I know we've Ah, again, we've kind of gone off the rails and done a lot of Ah, um you know, wrestling channel. Yeah.
Yeah, that's right, Randy, That's yes, that's right. Yeah.
And look, we just giving people what they want.
We're giving us what we want.
We want to talk wrestling, but has been some NFL news the last couple days and, of course, a major league baseball stuff that we've touched on.
But one thing I do want to hit real quick is neccessary.
Oh is reportedly or has signed an extension with the Patriots.
Now, for those who don't know, he is the director of player personnel, and he has been in that possession for a position for quite some time for the New England Patriots.
And he has been, Ah, a very important cog in this.
Ah, this wheel in this, um you know, in this machine here Ah, that is the Patriots.
And we all know they're in the business of winning championships, and he's had a huge hand in that.
So this is a huge, huge get for the Patriots, because again, he's been a name that every year has popped up.
When it comes to you know who's gonna take what General manager job? You.
He had been linked to Houston earlier this year.
There were some issues with them in Houston a year before that.
So, um, this is a great, great get for the Patriots, and I think the off season and the, um, the focus and and how this season is gonna turnout is going really start coming, becoming a little bit more clear in these next couple of weeks.
And I think all this craziness off, you know who does Cam Newton say? Ah, so and so says Brady's guy thinks nonsense.
It's hopefully gonna be over soon, and I think this is the first step in that.
Absolutely, uh, definitely from a Patriots perspective.
This was big news that broke yesterday afternoon regarding Nikos Aereo coming back and from the people that I've talked to close to the organization, they've said that this was something that the Patriots have been trying to work on for quite some time.
That Ah, lot of the reports that were out there that could serial was unhappy and he was ready to move on, and he couldn't wait to get out of the shackles that were tied to him in the New England Patriots organization.
Were really completely just don't want to say fabrication.
But I mean, I will say if ever I will say that they were an embellishment of prevailing thoughts that people thought was true but really wasn't bringing back a stereo to me signals big key from the Patriots organization.
That continuity is something that's going to be very important to them this year.
You've already seen Josh McDaniels returned, albeit he did an interview for the Cleveland Browns head position, whether or not he would have absolutely taken if it was offered.
I mean, they're still conflicting reports on that.
I believe he would have, but he will be back. Bill Della Jack.
Obviously, it's still the head man in New England and is still the head coach.
Retiring is not something that the team wasn't expecting.
So I think that they were prepared for that and they are prepared to go in a different direction.
But having a cereal at the top in terms of player personnel and how they're going to construct this team.
To me, it signals a great deal of continuity, and that's still important in New England.
It means that they're all in.
This is not gonna be a quote unquote bridge year or a quote unquote rebuilding year.
I don't think that's something that hysteria would sign on for I think bringing him back signifies that these guys are gonna be all in now.
Does this absolutely translate to a Tom Brady signing here in New England? I pump the brakes on that a little bit.
I don't think one is tied to the other, just like people are trying to tie.
Dante Scarnecchia is retirement, and I've heard, you know, these national talking heads go on TV and say Scott is not coming back, so you know that he knows something.
The Brady's not coming back now.
Both Dante Scarnecchia retired a couple of years ago.
He came back because he had the itch that's been alleviated.
He's ready to move on, and he's ready to spend time with his family.
That's why he's retiring, has nothing to do with Tom Brady.
Just like the return of hysteria doesn't necessarily translate to a definite Brady return.
I will say this.
It does make it a little bit more likely, and I don't care what anybody says when Tom Brady sees the continuity in the same type of regime put in place, knowing that these guys are gonna be willing to go all in and provide him with with the pieces that he needs to be able to succeed makes it a little bit tougher for him to go and say, I want to look elsewhere.
I know that there are people out there right now saying 99.
6% sure he's not coming back until it comes from the mouth of Tom Brady.
I would take these reports with green assault.
I'm not necessarily burying anybody, individual sources.
These guys, they're going off of sources a lot of times to folks.
I know they take a lot of lumps in the media for saying these things, but they're going off of a lot of what their sources are saying, too.
So keep that in mind.
Take these reports with a grain of salt and eventually this will shake out.
But from a kiss aereo standpoint, from a logistical standpoint, this is a very, very big move for the Patriots and a very big good move for the Patriots.
Yeah, and that's a great point.
Not Thio, you know, draw a conclusion from from this Thio.
You know, the Brady Extension.
This is just a step in the process of the off season.
We know the Patriots don't work, um, out a plan.
You know, they have a very, very, ah, step by step plan as that.
How they're going to approach this offseason.
So, um, I think just naturally Ah, Nick was thief first shoe to drop in this offseason plan, because again, you know, this is like you said, This is something they've wanted to do for a while.
Is the kind of lock him up and keep him in place because obviously, they value him quite a bit in that organization.
So I don't think this, you know, this directly means Brady's coming back.
I think Brady's coming back for many reasons.
Uh, this just happens to be the first step in this offseason that I think is going to play out for the Patriots, which eventually is going to lead to probably, You know, I get the hunch that maybe they're going to make a preemptive free agency move in.
And by that I mean, you know, we know trades can happen.
Moves can happen.
Moves can be put in place in theory.
So in that legal tampering time, you know, I expect there might be something.
The patriots make that would further entice time Brady to return.
I'm not saying they have to woo him.
This isn't a situation where they have to put, you know, go all out to show him.
You know, this is why you need to be here.
I don't think it's going to take much.
I I think he's, you know, playing the play in the field.
But really, you know, this is the Patriots or bust in my opinion, and I think that's that really is gonna be true for him.
So, you know, I think they go out, they make a move.
You know, that's probably the next step in the process.
And then you know you're going to see Tom Brady resign.
And, uh, look, you can read into whatever you want on social media and all that, but it's it's just I don't know to me it just this endless speculation as to where he's gonna go.
It's just gotten to the point where it's just it's so far over the top, and I kind of made a joke earlier.
But like really Ah, there was a report that got ran by a notable media of outlet talking talking about where Cam Newton says, Uh ah.
What? That What's the linebacker? It was Cam Newton via Shawn Merriman.
He's piece, man.
You know who? Sean Merriman.
It's not 2006 so he hasn't been that relative sense.
That's why I couldn't remember his name.
But it's just It's so foolish.
I mean, there's there's no and that's the thing in and you're right.
There's a lot of reputable reporters out there that do base what they hear on their sources.
But I feel like they're far too many people out there that are literally just making things up and saying like, Oh, I think this could be possible.
So I'm gonna word it this way.
It's like the Christian Fauria a thing from the other day.
It's like he, uh, miss worded what he was saying.
So you know, all of a sudden this this report gets going that he doesn't you know, he says that Tom Brady isn't gonna be back, and then he comes out.
Oh, no, it was My opinion will be clear about that.
You know, don't sit here and mislead people because look, people took it and ran with it.
And all of a sudden it's like, Oh my God, you know, a former teammate says that and you know all the while you're you ignore everything, will it? McGinnis and guys like Teddy Bruschi say, who in my opinion, probably have far more personal connection with Tom than Christian? Yeah, absolutely.
I mean, and again, these reports, it's, I think you put it very.
I think you put it very eloquently and very ah, what's the word I want to use? Well, that doesn't matter.
What were you t really? What we wanted to say was that it does, it puts it very diplomatically, is the word I was looking for.
They are there basically using what they can to try to see if this story can gain legs and for lack of a better term, folks, the stories do they gain legs.
No matter what happens.
It seems like no matter what happens with Brady, you can say he's going anywhere.
I can come out here tomorrow and say, Single's gonna trade Joe Burrow and Brady's gonna end up in Cincinnati.
Andy Dalton's gonna end up back in New England.
I have no basis for that.
If I put that story out there, it's gonna go viral because people are just so hungry to find out where he is going to go.
What I find funny in all of this is prior to free agency starting.
I thought Brady was washed up.
Yeah, I thought he was.
I thought he was racist in quarterback.
I thought he was fallen flat on his face.
He could barely move.
He was an old man.
He was the loaf, the usedto Walt, you know, give me a friggin break.
I mean, you know, the guy is that teams are falling all over themselves to try to get to him right now.
You don't do that for the load.
I'm sorry They do that for a quarterback they know can come in and change their team.
That's why Brady is one of the top stories because he's still one of the top quarterbacks.
I think his best fit is in New England.
But when this starts to steamroll and as we get closer to March 18th and it's unbelievable, that were almost only a month away from that now it's going to start to get even bigger and bigger and bigger.
So until this story as a concrete resolution, expect these stories to grow.
Expect himto multiply.
Expect sources that you've never seen before.
Come out of the woodwork.
Brady's father's nephews, cousins, former roommates probably gonna have a take on this.
Consider the source.
Look from where it's coming from.
Use your common sense when you read it and then make an informed decision, folks, because there's a lot of garbage out there.
Basically, what you're saying is don't feed these gremlin or don't give these gremlins water after midnight because that's that's what you were describing it in my mind.
That's what I'm thinking.
I'm like, Okay, that's that's essentially they multiply and the great Okay, so, uh, you and you know what I want that you actually brought something up that I did want to mention, and it's basically it's it's self congratulatory on my part because I'm starting to see this creep out a little bit because you brought up the whole idea about you know, the whole narrative among you know, the national immediate.
It's, you know, media yachts, um, has been, you know, Brady's lost a step.
And that's been the primary reason for his, you know, or his lack of stat production.
You know, when it comes to, you know, his output this year and kind of where the team finished.
And, you know, I've I've been calling that a whole bunch of bull for, you know, I got knows how long.
And, um, you know, I've been called everything in the book.
You know, Homer, this that and the other Brady jock sniffer, all that stuff, all that stuff.
And you know what? I stood firm.
I said, you know what? Believe what you want.
You're just telling me you don't watch him play.
Now, all of a sudden you're starting to see little bits and pieces of like, Oh, you know what? Pff Profootballfocus released their advanced metrics in terms of accuracy and in no way, wow, when you actually look at it, it's like, Wow, Brady Brady is one of the most accurate quarterback still, But you're telling me his completion percentage was in the bottom third of the league, Nick right? And that means obviously ease.
He's lost a step when clearly it hasn't.
And, you know, I'll give guys like Jeff Schwartz credit because he's obviously been out there is one of the few that have really kind of, like, looks like Jeff always has quality stuff that comes out well.
He looks really good.
You look at the film, you know, and subjective to folks our unabashed in that I don't think there's anybody that questions are fandom.
And we know you know where our bread is.
Buttered butter, right? As an objective.
But Jeff, absolutely.
But Jeff is an objective guy.
Definitely check out his stuff.
Match Adam as well in the local areas as well.
Those two work in tandem and awful lot.
So where you see one, you see the other an awful lot.
But there's a lot of objective and smart right on ****ysis when it comes to those to those two guys that I put a lot of stock in what they say.
Well, and I I was, you know, to say that I, you know, I was going to say I think it was Sam months.
And another thing basically came out with ah story yesterday.
Our breakdown yesterday basically saying the same exact thing, that guess what this guy Tom had probably the worst situation of his career in his surrounding, and he still managed to to, you know, bring this team to where they were in that this drop off and production quote unquote is clearly not a result of him losing a step.
And again, in my eyes, it was pretty obvious if you actually watched him objectively.
Far too many people, I think, looked at it.
And you look for things, though.
They'll see one incomplete pass and that that's it.
That's all you need to know are one almost interception and that's it.
That that forms an entire narrative one game when that could be so far from the actual truth.
So I'm kind of glad that's starting to come out and you get again.
You brought up a great point.
The irony of all this is, you know, like I said a couple of episodes ago, we're gonna go right down the list of how many teams would take Tom Brady over the current quarterback situation.
And I said about 2/3 of the league easily and and and some of that is the teams that won't.
It's just because they have a young quarterback signed at a good deal.
So realistically, you know you're not gonna no matter who it is, you're really not gonna probably ditch it for 40.
Gonna be 43 year old quarterback.
But for the most part, I went down the, you know, 2/3 of the league and it's like Brady's better, Better, better, better.
We talked about it.
Probably yesterday, a couple days ago.
Um, Patriots are 49 is probably won the Super Bowl.
If Tom Brady is the under center for the 40 Niners.
And you know, I mean, that's not a knock necessarily to Jimmy Garoppolo.
And you know, he played.
I think Jimmy played as well as he could in that game.
I think there's still a little bit of growth that needs to happen there, but it's just a matter of, I think, a matter of just seasoning and being able to know howto win in situations like that.
Jimmy doesn't have the experience Tom has just yet, So yeah, if you swap out those two quarterbacks in that game, I do think there's a different outcome.
That doesn't necessarily mean that the 40 Niners don't have the right man in place.
I think a lot of that that's been overblown.
Where a lot of people were saying up, that's it. Cut Jimmy.
He didn't win the big game, so that's it.
He still took the team to the Super Bowl, by the way, a team that not a whole lot of people thought was heading to the Super Bowl.
You go back and you take a look at some preseason projections, with the exception of our or good friend Bryan Snow believed in that team all year long.
Most people did not believe this.
Francisco 40 Niners were Super Bowl bound, so for Jimmy to be able to be at the helm for that says something about him.
But Brady is just at a different level when it comes to reading.
Defense is when it comes to being able to anticipate what's going to happen if he has the proper weapons around him.
You can see him have a tremendous amount of success.
I think that's what's important.
A time this year we get the Patriot, show him that, willing to invest that I don't think this is a guy that is a no brainer.
I think he signs on the dotted line.
If the Patriots taken approach where they say, Well, we're going to just do what we normally do, we're gonna plug and play and we're gonna, you know, grab guys that were bagging groceries two years ago.
We're gonna be able to do what we do and move forward.
Then I think that's that's the only scenario to me where you might see Tom Sane.
I'm 43 years old, going to be 43.
I can't do that any longer.
I don't think that happens.
But you know, there's always a shot.
So and you know this.
This is also and this is apparently been an episode about me.
Ah, you know, bragging about things I've said that were somewhat correctly, or at least on the right track months ago, months ago, Uh, when When when you know, towards the end of the season, I said the on Lee the Onley situation and again even I even think it would be a complete launch up the Onley situation where I would see Tom Brady moving to a different team would be the 40 Niners and in and again there's a lot of factors one being his grown a hometown team.
It's a Super Bowl contending team.
It's obviously in his hometown area and literally, that's the only situation.
And even then, I think that's a long shot, I think.
But you know, that's that's maybe that 10.
1% because of sit here and say 99.
9% sure that Tom Brady's coming back.
And that would be that 0.
1% because I don't think he's retiring.
And I think it's almost It's just a matter of time before this deal gets done with the certain dominoes were to fall.
That would be the only situation in my mind that would actually make sense.
Least relative Thio.
What these other situate I mean, not the Chargers, not the Dolphins, not the Titans.
None of that stuff.
I mean, you know, this would be the only thing where I could sit there and be like, You know what? That's actually not a bad move for him.
Just because given the team's not only location, uh, current construction and current, you know, success being just a, you know, few moments away from Super Bowl.
But again, I think that's a long shot.
I think it's It's it's it's all but done between, uh I'm not.
I'm just saying That's my hunch.
I'm not saying it's a report or anything like that.
I'm saying my hunch is it's just all but done.
And they just have to, you know, get the particulars hashed out.
And Tom Brady will be the quarterback of this team for the next couple years.
Yeah, and I think everyone in New England is hoping the same thing right along with you all Patriots fans anywhere because there aren't just Patriots fans here in New England.
They're all over the country.
Yes, they do exist beyond the borders of knowing one phone books.
Don't let the national media full you of that, But in any case, I agree.
I think that the move to San Francisco would be a long shot.
To me, it's the only plausible situation that makes any sense.
And to me, the only team other than New England that could possibly have that lure for Brady for him to play for the team and he grew up idolizing and to be able to put a 40 Niners uniform on could be a non opportunity for him to live the dream so that one would scare me a little bit.
If that if that story started gained legs, then I then some of that optimism and that bravado that you see from me in terms of yes, he's going to be back that I talk about every day on my way to a little bit would weigh in a little bit, and then I'd be OK.
Now, this this one scares me a little bit.
But other than that, I think all the I think all the other reports out there are really pretty thin when you start.
Yeah, they sound fun.
They sound nice, but when you look at the depth of them, it's a quote video. Gambian E.
There is thin is a playing card.
You know, they really they don't have a lot of death to them.
I mean, you're gonna he's actually gonna pick up and go to the L.
A Chargers for no other reason, by the way, then to just open up T V 12 centers in Los Angeles will play for the owner exactly a play for an awful loner that's really playing second fiddle in that town Right now, I know they want to make a big splash, but even Brady is not going to be enough.
That not the Rams off of that, that it's still it's still a basketball town, anyway.
I mean, anybody that knows has ever been L.
It's really hits the Lakers, and then it's everybody else, whether it be the Kings, the Clippers, the Rams, the Chargers, you know any other team these, you know, even even the Dodgers and the Angels, who, you know.
There's a lot of a lot of fan base with regard to baseball there.
But it's the Lakers town, so you're not gonna not that off the pedestal.
Uh, you look at the Dolphins, I think the minute the Dolphins fired Shadow Shea that closed the book on them, possibly wanting to go and bring in a You know, a player like Tom Brady.
Chan Gailey is the offensive coordinator there in Miami.
Now, are you trying to tell me that Chan Gailey, who's worked with Ryan Fitzpatrick, is gonna bring in a guy like Tom Brady and Ryan Fitzpatrick is gonna mental a Tom Brady? I mean, think about how stupid that sounds.
The fact that they brought in gaily means that they're looking for Fitzpatrick to be that bridge quarter and that mark for them exactly.
And it's very smart, especially if they're going to draft to a little.
I think is the perfect fit in Miami to go in there.
He's a lefty's, a guy that, you know, with the protection that he could get on that offensive line on the right side.
All of sudden, it really it makes so much sense for them to be able to do that.
So, you know, it's again.
You know, You look at all of these rumors, they look fun, but they're really not a whole lot of substance to them.
So, you know, we hope we hope for the best in New England.
Well, we we and you brought up T V 12 and ah, we all know what TB 12 the program and not not the company, but the actual philosophy that that Brady obviously has lived for, you know, basically senses knee injury, how it has prolonged his career and really, you know, who knows? You know, maybe, you know, maybe he he does stop playing at 38 39 years old, You know, because if you remember him talking before before you started ah, you know, shifting his philosophy on training to be more preventive as opposed to rehab.
Um, he said he woke up at 30 years old, feeling the bumps and bruises, aches and pains and all that.
So, um, I say this this to say I say that to say this could I'm gonna ask you, Mike, because the city is a fascinating story I saw yesterday.
And who knows, You know, this could be it.
This could be a, you know, a huge curveball in the 2020 quarterback market.
Could late famous Winston what TV 12 was to Tom Brady? Ponder that from.
That's an interesting point.
Believe it or not, I actually talked off line with a good mutual friend about this yesterday.
We were talking a little bit about Jameis Winston in this report and what it means to him and his ability thio play going forward.
It would explain a lot.
It would explain a lot of if the eyesight issues were of reason why so many interceptions were being thrown.
It could throw off your timing.
It could throw off your ability to become in sync with your receivers.
So I think there's a lot to it now.
The knock on Jamison's that his decision making has never been all that great.
So even with great eyesight, if your decision making is not all that great, it's gonna lead to problems, see the defendant better and throw it to him for Yeah, well, there's a There's a defensive back.
He said that the hell with it.
I'm just Somebody will get it you have.
Jamison might not be your team mate.
Don't want whatever.
It doesn't hit the ground seriously.
In all actuality, it would make some sense when you take a look at some of the plays that he's made and some of the head scratchers that he's had.
Albeit I haven't watched Jameis Winston enough.
I haven't watched enough film all 22 film on him to be able to say, Oh yeah, this is definitely got legs.
But from what I've seen from the highlights and the film that I have watched of him even prepping for, you know him last year when they play the Patriots, I think there is an element of truth to that.
Now, if there's a situation now where he's able to correct that and you see these things, you know, become a little bit easier for him, Yeah, then you may see a resurgence in his career.
He might all of a sudden be much more of a formidable quarterback than kind of, ah, punch line that you know we're making out of him right now.
I think that's a mistake, too, because, I mean, if you take a look at the amount of touchdowns this guy's able to throw, the yardage he's able to throw for his arm is ability to be able to play the position.
He should get a lot more credit for being a better quarterback.
Then he's getting the credit for.
But at the same time, the touchdowns or just it's overwhelming.
So you're not going to know until preseason.
You're not going to know until the regular season whether or not this was People can say and try to pick out all they want to in mini camp, in training camp, in practices.
But until he's in a live game situation, I don't know if you're really going to see it and even pre season because it's gonna be against lesser competition.
I don't necessarily know if that's the barometer.
I think it may be the regular season before you really see if this significantly improves.
But I think it's got a shot well, and and and that's the thing to it's like I mean, you know he is, you know, you do say he's a punch line, but at the same time, he's only relevant because I mean, the only reason he's still playing is because he's still productive.
You just productive on both sides of the ball for both teams, you know, like and and I saw Ah, I don't remember who tweeted it, but, you know, this was this was this joke kind of wrote it wrote itself.
But you know, he's gonna go from 30 to 30 to 2020 you know, making a joke about his vision.
And it's like, you know what? It could improve.
I mean, it could I mean, if it limits just a handful of interceptions and maybe, you know, you know, maybe all of a sudden that production looks a little bit better, and all of a sudden it starts resulting in winds.
And look that the Bucks, Aaron.
Okay, Team, they don't have a lot of talent on that team.
So, um, I I still, you know, I would assume that, you know, maybe Jamie's probably goes back, but, you know, who knows? We'll see.
You know, maybe maybe another team, maybe the patriots right now it would be made.
Maybe Tom ends up in Tampa.
You know, however, now he wants, he wants a Uschi is finally gonna be closer to the guy that's been defending his wall all these years.
Yeah, that's that's an important part, you know? I mean, I know you know, you're a little bit, you know, not too far from from there, So I mean, that's that's a pretty pretty little escape in the job.
You can You can You can show him around the other Tampa Sarasota area.
Well, guess what The Super Bowl is Ah, in Tampa this year and And you know what else is in Tampa in a couple months? Uh, you know, you know.
Yes, I do. I'm waiting for the drop.
Oh, no, no, I don't know.
I don't have a drop.
I was just I was I was hoping to catch you off guard.
No, it's WrestleMania.
Of course, radio I you know, I was thinking it.
Okay, Yeah, I was I was like I was asked that question.
I was I was waiting for that cue up up.
See, I was waiting for, like, the old school rest That's that blaring like that.
That blaring electric guitar, that barrel. Wow.
You know, that's just, you know, investment band, screaming at the top of his lungs.
Like, you know, he was on the verge of a stroke.
I mean, that's just that was the excitement of WrestleMania.
Just don't have that today.
I I kid you not.
And and it's funny because that you say that because I'm sitting here talking and asking the question, and I'm like, Oh, my God, I would love to have the old WrestleMania music just like the classic like, you know what I mean.
So again, where we're sharing, we're on the same wavelength there.
So I've actually considered, and I've been looking and I might have ah taken impromptu trip to WrestleMania this year.
We I don't know, though.
We'll see as we get a little bit closer, but tickets are reasonably priced.
Ah, at Emily Arena.
And I'm only about 2025 minutes away.
So it would It would be a pretty ah, pretty easy trip journey, so Oh, maybe maybe maybe you can.
You don't get yourself down here, bring a hogan sign. You never know.
I think the exciting video is still buried in the back of the closet somewhere, you know.
We're gonna have to get the old Theo old Hogan placards and see what what we can do.
And I don't know what happened to the other letters.
I really and truly don't know.
I'm sure we can wrestle up at least a couple of them way dog or an old Yeah.
Wait, What happened? Th I don't worry about it. Don't worry about it.
Don't worry about him.
Don't talk about him anymore.
Um, but now it's like the warrior when he used to send and he's oh, so good.
You know, that was old oak.
Or we could just Ah, no.
Yeah, and I like that.
I like that a lot, actually.
Well, we'll figure it out.
All expense paid courtesy of someone.
Someone pay for it for us.
Okay, so, Maiken, get down here.
Help Mike out, folks, Go fund me.
That's right. Fun.
My trip to wrestle.
Hey, you want to sell the o sign to get down there? What the? 50 cents.
I mean, what's the values like? You know what? This? This was in the presence of low Cogan and mixed with man back in 2000.
I'll probably have to pay somebody to take that on that.
That's that's That's absolutely no, but, you know, Tiu the to the whole go fund me thing, you know, I see.
You know, maybe it is just ah difference in, ah, age or just, But I I see far too often people just asking for money.
So who knows? Maybe maybe you could do that.
Maybe you could go and be like, hey, go fund me dot com slash mike debate and get me to WrestleMania.
That's the fun bike trip to wrestle me on my trip to WrestleMania.
And you know what? Here's the thing that some of the descriptions that I read they have no shame whatsoever.
Like, you know, I couldn't do it I couldn't sit there and publicly beg people for for money like to fund a trip or something stupid like that.
But like you have people out there just being like, Hey, you know, I really want this, like, uh, Air friar.
Can you, you know, buy it for me? You know, like the random strangers.
So who knows? Maybe people out there, you know, I see all those, all those tweets all the time.
You know, these people giving away money, I I never know if it's real.
There's enough people that respond.
Then I'm like, maybe it Israel.
But then again, it could be a huge giant scam.
So you never know.
Maybe maybe one of those people will do it.
So I think about it.
Mike. Think about it.
Yeah, it's It's, you know, I see it as a possibility, my friend, you know, way we might put this out there.
Who knows? Maybe, maybe our listeners.
You know what? Let's get Mike to WrestleMania.
Were get we're gonna create create the moment.
17 years in the making, and yeah, and you know what? Here's here's a Here's a funny thing that I thought about.
It's like I went to WrestleMania 20 and ah, this would just be the first wrestling event.
WrestleMania, particularly that I've attended since then.
So that would be WrestleMania 20 WrestleMania 36.
What other connection has it? Oh, yeah, that's right.
The Patriots went, went to Super Bowl 20 and then they didn't make it back. It, actually, No.
I completely I completely blacked out that hole.
Green Bay Packers Patriots. Super.
I was just going to stay here for getting the Drew Bledsoe getting 25 years to the tune of all that, you know he had already.
It's like five minutes before the game.
Supposedly was in his hotel room, finalizing the deal with the Jets.
Ah, and people want to know why he's not in the Patriots.
All things he deserves to be.
But that will not get in.
I want only that will not get a minute. I can't.
I can't forgive him for that.
You know, I'm surprised we only have five minutes left.
The show went by quickly.
But do what I do want to bring up real quick, and we might have to elaborate, Maurine, this tomorrow as well find out.
But there were two reports that came out first.
The first report was that the clients were shopping Are, you know, open toe offers for quarterback Matt Stafford? And since then Bob Quinn, the general manager, has flat out denied that.
But that could be a pretty interesting ah, curveball, to say the least, into this whole free agent player availability.
Because I think we all realize that Matt Stafford's a very talented individual who has obviously health issues, um, or has had health issues.
But the talent is there.
I mean, backs in terms of like the post rule and rule.
Ah, too restrictive defense's.
He's near the top of every, like passing yardage.
Listen, all that you know and again once, once the dust settles and we get a better idea of this whole era of football, we can better place his his his career and his talent in perspective, given you know who else is around him.
But for now, you know he's at the top of a lot of these lists because he was one of the first to come into this error with a big arm, um, is his availability if it's true, if it's true again, You know, we just talked about how much people just throw crap up against the wall when it comes to the Patriots.
Um, I'm not sure how exactly that is with the Lions, given that they're not, as you know, as popular of a team nationally, of course.
But, um, it would be interesting if he were to go on the move because that could change a lot of things.
And I'm not talking about the Patriots.
I'm just talking about a lot of teams that would, you know, potentially jump, you know, be chomping at the bit to try to get Matt Stafford without question right off the bat.
You think about the teams that are interested in Tom Brady, the Chargers, the Raiders, you know, the Indianapolis Colts? I would definitely be interested.
Although a lot of rumors seem to be circulating love Rumor that you you don't put out there several times about Philip Rivers heading over there.
So you know a lot talk about anything today.
Ian is right, folks.
Cash Ian was right, Ian.
At first we should get that viral But in any case, I agree.
I think it would.
It would be a huge domino to fall if you start to hear these rumors come out about the Patriots, folks, keep in mind.
There are representatives from both sides when it comes to the Patriots and Tom Brady that air posturing right now.
So if you drop a little bit of a hand out there that the Patriots might be willing to trade from that Stafford, all of a sudden, it puts the pressure on Brady in his camp. So it's a gain.
Ah, lot of these reports that come out there are part of playing the game.
Let the process play out. But I agree.
This does have a lot of implications on a lot of teams.
And, yeah, buddy, I hate to say it.
The Patriots are one of them because they're gonna be right in the mix.
If Brady does, in fact, pick up and leave, Patriots are in the mix.
They're going to need a quarterback, I can tell you right now, the prevailing thought in the Patriots organization is that Jarrett Stidham could be that guy, but they don't think he is.
That guy for 2020 so they're going to need somebody to come in, so it'll it could have a lot of implications, but this is one I definitely have a sharp eye on.
Probably both sharp eyes on this one to see if it is indeed true.
Queens report right now says it's not so.
You know, he's he's the organization, so you know, you have to take that.
For what it's worth, I've never known Bob to be a guy that just, you know, throw stuff out there.
I take him for his word, But you know, all these reports come from somewhere, so we'll see what happens.
Yeah, and we'll certainly be following up on this says it as it plays out.
And I'm sure we'll talk about a bit tomorrow.
And I'm very disappointed in myself because you set it up on a tea for me and I wish I had it.
But he said it was time to play the game, and I just in my mind, don't you and look, That song was on every single one of my hockey pump up CDs, and by that to you young folks out there, that's that's back when I had to go to a hockey game and I had my Discman.
Yes, ****s, man, you know, playing CDs and all mixed, You know, all that crap.
But that was a staple.
That was song number one on every single one of my hockey.
So that that that really got me going? Yeah, absolutely.
I mean, that was just That was one of the ultimate pump song.
Still is to this day still you you still, you know, you're ready to run through a wall after year. That so? Yeah.
In fact, that's what I'm gonna do after this, because it's time for us to go, Mike.
And we will be back tomorrow to play the game once again on a Friday edition of this wonderful, wonderful show that we produce.
