We haven't seen a lot of players other than like a Trevor Power, like speak up is not really the guy you want to be the representative.
I mean, realistically, S.
Was just like calling out reporters like, Hey, how about you just don't tweet stuff until you know what's happening.
They didn't know what's happening, and again, they're doing the job, and that's part of a great cover. That's a bigger conversation.
Was Time Blooms fault? I would put the at least 90% think it was.
I think it was misdirected anger, but I understand where his fresh traces were coming from, but also human.
Just the worst responses.
Thio that exchange like it could not have gotten edge in this job.
Wow! When hasn't had a good response? John doesn't ever know.
That was especially bad.
I was like Jon, just shut up.
John Hammond, who is widely known to be in Scott Boris's pocket, who is back, back, back pocket and Boris is not somebody who cares so much about the public image and perception of himself.
So people lively, it all makes sense.
Plus, you know, he was a New York girl.
That kind of stuff just sort of happens.
And then the other side of the deal, the of the original deal was already Marino's hissy fit already gonna Arnie.
He didn't like him from their chief here.
Well, here's the thing Already really wants to be a part of Los Angeles for some reason that so it's a good thing he just signed a new deal with the city of Anaheim.
That a lot of sense, for some reason, really wants to be a part of Los Angeles.
So now he's just gonna you know, I don't like Artie Berry.
No, I really don't like him anyways.
He threw a fit, decided, You know, we don't need this deal.
There's a lot of reports that came with it that like, Hey, maybe the Dodgers decided that it didn't.
But ultimately it was what it sounds like.
Marino pulled the trigger on that one and said, Let's back out of this.
You probably thought he was gonna end up revisiting the conversation and he was going to get more out of it.
But the Angels were on top of that deal.
I mean, it depends on who which prospects came back.
But, I mean, unless you're picking a top five prospect Angels were on, it was a salary dump in a way for L.
And we're gonna We're gonna bring in our boy Tim Rogers right now who knows a lot more about the money involved with with the Dodgers and all that, because he's stayed very much on top of of updating our payroll page at dodger nation dot com.
Go check it out, guys.
But, you know, it felt like a salary dump.
And then in Marino side of things, you know, already, millionaires don't like being told.
Okay, Wait, you're you're gonna wait here for a minute, chief.
So all that aside, it feels to me like it was the most people party.
Marina is not a 1,000,000 anymore.
He gave away all his money to Josh Hamilton and Albert boules.
Those deals look swimming, but again, the Dodgers came out pretty good what most people feel on that.
So to talk more about how good we gotta bring in our friend at SD Dodger Tim, our friend of the show, Mr Tim Rogers.
This was This was Ah, big week. A busy week.
I mean, with the last week at this time, everywhere at once.
Twitter was going bonkers with the initial trade.
Um, and now it's finally done.
Um, is you guys were just talking about, you know, that I think it was gonna be a salary dump.
The Angels, you, captain.
But when when the maid of money went over, you know, to the twins.
And I don't know how they're going to distribute that.
I have it that they're paying it all now, but it's probably not probably not true that put him over the salary cap, no matter what.
So even if they would have traded Jock and Strip, it's still not gonna do it.
And then after the trade gets finalized, if you go look at the M I l B Top 30 prospects, Andy pages was came.
What went from not being on the list to being number 13? Um, yeah, And then our buddy grad A Raul is number four, and they put him ahead of Jessica Gray, which is stunning for May time.
Out of the year time out, there is very important.
The stream is 100% already on board with brother brother Gatorade.
So they're very excited about it.
Doesn't say Gatorade on his Players Week in Jersey this year.
You know what? He's well, now I don't even know his real name.
I've just been calling Brother Gator really real difficult.
I had to look at it again before it went.
Are saying is with you.
Don't worry about your contract.
So, Tim, a lot of moving parts in this a lot going on, especially on the prospect side of things.
But you're more familiar with first and foremost.
First thing we want to know is who's out? You know, you got Jeter Downs.
You got Camargo.
You got Rid Dugan made.
What are we losing in that trade in terms of prospects, but specifically, Well, you know, Verdugo, we lose.
There's a really it's a really good player.
And and that he was number one going into the season last year for the Dodgers prospects.
He proved out good.
He was, I think if he's healthy, the Dodgers get past the Nationals just because the way he makes contact.
Jeter Downs? Um, probably projects.
Is a second baseman, So I'm kind of, you know, I Jeter's good.
Dude, he's a music.
I think he's going to play up offensively.
He's gonna hit 20 to 25 home runs.
Nice. Um, he's not.
He's above average at everything, but he's not great at anything.
Um, it's kind of like, Would you throw on the scales if you look at the way they rate rate players on the whiners, you know, he's like, on the 20 to 80 scale.
He's like a 50 to 55 across the board.
And then Wong, um you know, I love the guy.
Uh, he's He is he's got some pop.
He's keeps getting better defensively, but we got you know, we got Will Smith.
Uh, we got there.
Um, I wish we had Russell Martin instead of Austin Barnes.
Um, but, you know, and then get the cartoon you kid who's coming out.
And so, you know, you guys are a prospect hugger.
Shed a couple tears, literal prospects.
See them got bookie bats.
You know why we had talked about a little two on and you're talking about trading from positions of depth in the organization.
Big time, like, you know, losing Jeeter down sucks.
I was excited to come up, watch him play, and obviously I've heard a lot from you about it.
And so that was a cool thing to watch his career progress.
But when we started talking about it, it was like, Well, long term.
Where does that guy even fit in? You know, if you're looking to keep some of these guys that are already on the roster, it's like he's not a bench guy like he's going to start on a team somewhere.
So in terms of depth, yeah, you can afford to make that trade. It doesn't help.
It doesn't you know, it doesn't hurt us to let him go to a different organization, where he gets a better opportunity, everything and then catching for sure.
You know, catching us such a It's one of the deepest positions of our prospects, I would say.
And so when you when you're looking at long term, you're like, Well, there's just not enough at bats to go around at the big league level.
We got to start moving Some people think that makes sense the same time you look at shortstop to mean shortstop was now becoming, Ah, another position or area of depth in the minor leagues.
You just Yeah, you just called up Gammon Locks.
Who? They say, you know, knock on whatever this thing is made out of.
They say he can play shortstop, but you still have, you know, glove first.
People whose bats might come along like like a Maya, but the same the same time.
You know, you you do have a fully healthy Corey Seager coming into 2020 for the next two years.
You extend him and then you know my conversation with Tim.
Never it earlier.
He's He's talking about the fact that, like you're trading a shortstop, but it's the Dodgers if they want a shortstop, but you just go out and get a shortstop easy enough.
Show some diamond isn't Apparently, it's it's really deep position, but that that that's one.
Ah, of course, one side of it.
Yes, there is there.
Yeah, they didn't or not.
Yes, it's good talent and everything, but it is.
Replaceable is the bottom line, and we got Mookie Betts.
All right, so we're gonna talk about who we got now, because obviously that's the more important thing.
That's what we want to shed the light on.
And I, I don't know, other than obviously we got Mookie Betts.
That's very clear and obvious, and we're all very happy about that.
We have been for a week, even though we didn't quite have him yet, I think probably one of the most underrated parts of this trade, Uh, my ultimately end up being getting David Price of the team.
Obviously, brother Gatorade excites me because of 100 mile an hour arm excites me no matter how good your location is.
If you get through 100 I'm excited.
But you know, we had talked about getting David Price for Essentially, What is it? What had never signed off? It comes out to, like, 16 year that we're getting in for something like that.
It's like holy cow, that's a 50 15 15 year on luxury tax.
That's what I'm talking about.
So if you can, if you can have one good season of David Price in there somewhere, huh? Especially early on in one of the first couple of seasons.
You can flip that dude for some pretty hefty prospects to a contending team like that.
Z becomes a real possibility if the Dodgers end up with, let's say, a wealth of starting pitching, which they could end up having over the next two years.
So hey, I think that's what almost underrated marks Kerik calls available in nine years ago.
I personally was really excited about the idea of David Price turning things around.
Even if he doesn't, chances are he has a better year than Kenta Maeda.
Yeah, totally, exactly.
And he he is somebody.
I like him in the number three spot.
I still want somebody else's wrote about Levinger, Mike Levinger.
Keep speaking to existing thing.
They got some new prospects. They confuse.
Cleveland fans aren't happy at you.
I'm seeing in the comments in that article, but a lot of Apple.
A lot of people very much want to see that deal happen.
And and I mean, if the Dodgers wanted make it happen, 100% could, well, they it's it's tough to say, but you know Levinger Fitz would fit this team leaps and bounds above.
You know it's It's such a left handed heavy rotation.
It's quality out getters, for sure.
But still, it's probably you would like to see a right hander in there, plus a scene Clev.
Inger and Bueller together would be, uh, be a pretty **** exceptional.
But you're going on with that again.
A role is somebody that if we really get if they wanted to do that, they could throw him back as a starter.
I Yeah, I don't know if he if that's the Nidhi best suits for this club in ah, 2020 it feels like it's really as as James Brown here on the Stream and Facebook says, You know, 2020 is looking good and grab her all really helps that in the bullpen, because all of a sudden now you went from Pedro Baez is like the fifth option is a right hander in the bullpen.
And granted, it's a very right handed deep bullpen.
But you know, in in your opinion, what do you see happening with with this 21 year old flame thrower from Minnesota? It wouldn't surprise me if based, You know they did.
They do this type of stuff to go.
Well, let's let's stretch him out as a starter and see what's there.
That could happen.
But they're only saying they're going to do that with Destined May, which they should.
Dustin May, I thought, did it end up doing a decent job of the bullpen? But he is a starter and it could be a star.
Um, Gonsouland, you know, another guy.
But this this guy, he seems to be ready for the majors.
I mean, but if I'm looking as minor league appearances, I mean, in 51 games and a short Marleigh career, he's got 40 1 of them are starts, Um, so it's there, and they might be intrigued by it.
But there cash if it just like they have so many left handers in the starting rotation in the in the minor leagues there, so stacked with right handed starters, it it's like 12 guys in the top 30 that air right handed starters.
And so, um you know, given the Kenley, Zoe's is a question mark it Do you think he's gonna be a little bit better this year? But we're not trying in, Yeah, nowhere to go but up honestly, for both of those guys when you hope nowhere to go But you hope you're really Yeah.
The best case scenario is that the greater all starts out triple A because everyone's doing so well.
Yeah, come on 100 plus smiling.
All right, that's they don't They're They're starting to acquire more of those guys.
But even when you look at the top, the top 30 there's only one guy other than Gradual that's hit it. That's Korea.
Yeah, hereto career in Korea Who did it in the Arizona Fall League? S o to get that velocity is yam of a loss of junkie just Gary, You know, we're talking about spring training and the things that you have to do when you're behind the scenes over there, there's a a point where you can go stand behind the catcher when pictures they're throwing in that area.
You should stand behind the catcher when Gatorade stone because you want to see the 100 mile an hour fastball.
Looks like standing in the box in front of the catcher.
I mean, I think that in the box real quick, E I mean, obviously he wasn't the Marquis piece of the greater all trade it was granted.
All of them Probably really That 67.
Pick this this coming draft.
But Luke really is a guy.
The Dodgers are getting back.
Do you have any, um, any riel take on him? Besides, just hey, you know, this is outfield depth. A Triple A.
Yeah, he he was He was just kind of a throw.
And it looks like he only played 38 games.
Hey, had an ankle injury.
So he missed a good four months of the season.
So kind of a wasted season.
I mean, he had a night yet decent numbers for for that for that part of it.
But he's he he's not that bad of a field or he's not.
He's he's got decent speed.
Is another lefty bat.
Um, he seems to have some power.
There's people that remember him from being in the Dodger organization before that.
Like him, they're friends of mine, and they're real happy that he's back.
So, you know, and he is on the 40 man roster, so he has a chance of making the big club this year, for sure.
Speaking of that, 40 man roster.
Of course, Ross Stripling didn't get traded.
Of all of us here are happy with because he's a friend of ours.
And also, he's a **** good picture, you know, 2018 National League All Star represent right there.
But, ah, the top of that jock is still around.
Um, the ones that didn't survive.
Tyler White and Kyle Garlic.
Yet somehow Josh force is still alive.
Uh, what do you What do you What's your kind of take on the non trade with Anaheim? And then the two guys that were deaf aid? Well, very.
You know, looking at it now, I'm very thankful the trade didn't happen.
There they are, throwing their money around a little bit now, which is cool.
Um, the the was ren he foe.
He sounded kind of interesting.
Um, but it was It was gonna be stripling Peterson.
And then it's Andy Pages, who's just turned 19 crushes the ball.
What were home runs in, like, less than 300 bats last year.
And, yeah, I was gonna say I think the best part of the trade not going through was it's almost like we traded four pages having a back.
I got really excited.
It's like that much power that young is just not something you come by a very often.
He slugs 6 51 is an 18 year old again? Ogden.
Ogden is not a hitter's area, right? He does have that classic.
Let's strike out a lot thing.
He's like the Adam Dunn of the Argon Man.
He's actually he's He's good defensively.
That have done so.
He stuffed a left handed J. Peters.
No, no younger needed.
Peterson is ready.
Oh, that's right.
I was thinking Really? I got really in mind.
Big big on him, that's for sure.
Peter is a monster of a human.
Uh, one of the things as Brooke pulls up here and saw the news earlier that breaking news for you guys haven't seen it yet.
Of course, Bucky bits will be winning that ended it and we'll be wearing number 50 and 33 will be assigned to David Price.
So those some quality numbers right there, you know, 40 8 48 for Greta role.
Oh, don't forget it.
Don't forget, the Gatorade will be worried for because for anybody that missed it, Gavin luck switched from 48 to number nine at some point this offseason.
Some point this month it might have been after this trade went down, so prices prices never worn 33 at the big note levels. That's interesting.
Well, he wasn't gonna wear 10 14 or 24 says that was a thing.
But as we survive this off season, and we looked at this off season, and I think all of us here would honestly give um, Andrew Friedman very, very high marks for his efforts.
The And, by the way, said Andrew Friedman, that Andrew Frogman.
So take that Twitter friend of a friend.
But for especially, I would imagine you really talked about shedding a tear for somebody like you, Tim, and we know a lot of our friends on Twitter and all that.
It's Ah, it's kind of been of, ah, a bit of a tough off season for fans that air, not fans of change, and we lost a good number of them.
Base boys Aziz The Keystone column Reuse Gone made a hill.
Russ Martin still out there and, of course, our theories.
David Freezer, retired River do goes the big One and Gary.
Gary has, ah, video he can throw up.
I think it was either our boy Eric v over the Dodgers or Hunter condo.
One of their other guys.
What do you think? You're just kind of in your opinion, Tim.
What do you think this does for, You know, the clubhouse for the chemistry and all that kind of stuff.
Just the difference that maybe a little bit of a kick in the ass will do something different for this.
Ah, this Dodgers club.
I mean, first of all, if if if if the Astros didn't cheat, a lot of this doesn't happen.
Um, But it did happen.
They have not won a World Series.
And I think Friedman starting to feel it.
I think that they want they want to get courage.
They want to get Turner and Jansen rings.
And this'll is the way.
This is one of the ways t to do it.
You know, he's done an amazing job, and it probably put some people on notice to I'm sure our friends strip and Jack are probably, uh, probably, you know, feeling it a little bit right now.
Um, and it just shows that, you know, there are no sacred cows.
Uh, you know, anyone? We've heard Seeger's name in the rumor that the rumor mill I don't want to trade him, but it's been out there.
Um, it's that it is possible that you could get traded and it's timeto go there.
They're feeling this time to win.
I think there broom, big castles.
Probably getting tired of, ah, making saying stupid things and then people yelling at him.
Um, but you know Friedman's? He's probably tired of it, too. He hears that.
He's, you know, we know there's burner accounts and we know that there's people out there spying and stuff, and they're tired of it.
I'm sure, uh, some of this is legacy.
I mean, every center before casting and freedmen are so close to being Hall of Fame executives, but well, I don't want to give any love to stand casting. I'm sorry.
Speaking away, just a steady gas.
It deserves something, right? Yeah.
Tim, I think you owe stand an apology.
You know, he was talking about real inside baseball economics stuff a couple years ago.
This is what he was talking about, man.
He was getting us ready.
So we owe it to him.
And you know that a lot of people have talked about the discipline that treatment has had young it's for sure, For I mean, there's there's some players that a lot of us wanted.
I think the closest one that Tibet's that we all wanted was probably yell.
Ich But imagine if we had Stanton.
This doesn't happen.
And we don't Really? Yeah, we re signed Machado.
This doesn't happen if we signed Harper.
So if we get cold, I don't know that happened.
There's so many different things that was like that.
If we had done, it would have either cripple, we would've been crippled financially or we wouldn't have had the prospects to do it or we wouldn't have wanted give way whatever prospects we had left after that deal.
So I mean, thinking about it is just like, man, he really stood his ground on a lot of stuff and on top of all that made a really great deal that didn't cost us very much and got us a big savings on a good pictures.
Yeah, well, today, he said.
the best player he's ever traded, and we'll have it for well ever trained for it.
So there's a lot.
He was a little dig it.
Yeah, he had a finger up Thio.
You know, you kind of, you know, you mentioned strip in there.
You mentioned Jock.
We know Stripling is He's a nice enough man.
He's a nice enough boys.
Nice enough fellow to understand.
We know he's happy to be in l.
He's happy to be in l.
A of talking about it.
He's happy to be in l.
He didn't hear me. Hashtag sources say he's happy to be in L. A.
We know this is something he can get over.
Jock, On the other hand, seems like somebody that will kind of where this what? What are your thoughts on Just that awkward jock situation? Oh, boy.
So I and Sidebar, do you think he lives past spring training to part? So, yeah, I doubt he does.
But and you talked about wearing it.
So it's beginning to 28 season down in San Diego.
This is when Jack was awful and people going wise and tolls up from what you know, Why did even why didn't tolls make it out of spring training? And I was hanging out outside looking, you know, doing the autograph thing and walking across that walking across the street was jock.
His head was just so down and, you know, it's like no one bothered.
Everyone was just so kind of pump for me was kind of just wave thio.
Just you could just see that he was down.
And I think he is gonna wear it.
Um, and I've slashed somewhere and I can't remember where.
But there some type of a possible promise, that part to Pollock, that he's playing full time.
So if anyone else has seen that, if I find it on a post, it isn't the general consensus that Andrew Friedman is still really high on public, and he hasn't really gotten off that horse like he's still here.
Do you not want to make Scott Boris mad? They gave him a lot of money.
They gave him a lot of money, you know, just over that much.
Can I have $16 million for a quick friend? If I was if I was a team, maybe if I was the team.
It's a good enough amount of money for somebody that now is lined up to platoon.
And no doubt you look at the idea, especially of Jock isn't leading off as Logan.
Joan Logan Jones over on Facebook, says Jack, shoot game is weak, so shots fired right there.
But as long as Jack is not leading off for this team, if you can have add 36 home runs in, you know, a little bit more than half of season out of a player in like the 678 spot that I mean ****, that's that's pretty **** good At the same time, I don't think he survives the spring training like we said, like he's like, I'm gonna die.
He's gonna be Dodger and more is what I'm saying.
But it would just just just like the limited interactions we have also had him and Gary and I have talked about this before.
He doesn't seem to be entirely happy or satisfied anywhere he is.
You know, if you go toe like some of the events of some cream melts true, A.
Gonzalez is Jack and whine about it when his lefty splits are higher than a pro hockey, but just, you know, advances.
It doesn't seem like it wants to be there.
He doesn't look like he enjoys a lot of stuff talking.
Very so, I mean, in terms of this, especially him wearing it.
Like, I could have taken this very, very personally and it just making a knife.
I feel awkward, and I'm not even involved in the situation.
I feel weird about it.
This is This is this is awkward.
So I can't imagine, you know, Thursday when pitchers and catchers start rolling in, and then inevitably, he walks into the locker room and everybody's like, looking up like, look at the tiles on the C.
Remember, they talked about, like, clubhouse chemistry? A lot. You. No way.
No how it is anybody's Moby around our office, like we taught him like no GOP stand here.
Wait, no grumpy stand.
You know, you don't want that kind of motor around, but you gotta figure somebody like J t is probably gonna put his arm over shoulder pretty quick and kind of if he hasn't already.
Yeah, you kind of.
You gonna fear to this sort of thing? Kind of creates amore clicky clubhouses.
So much change in all that.
All these dudes that known each other for so long.
Hell, I think Jack was on vacation with several players, including Kyle former, when all this started going down so it would wouldn't belly.
Yeah, it's gonna be weird and they'll I'm sure they'll take care of Jack.
But I wouldn't be surprised to hear that, you know it it Friedman did tell him, Look where we understand the situation.
We do want to try to move.
You want to try to get people more, more playing time? Because when we talked about all this awkwardness but didn't really point out the fact that the jocks salary arbitration hearing was last week, it did not go well.
You know the motion to try to push it back.
I mean, it just looks really bad.
It looks like a traitor of the season.
He's an exceptional baseball player, the best outfielder the Dodgers have defensively her Politika Paula do kick, Apparently like since last time I saw Polly's, he really started taking the weed, but anyway, a lot is gonna happen.
It's spring training, and it's gonna be fun in Your boy's pitchers and catchers report this weekend this Friday.
So it's happy times for all of us, and I'll think all four of us are gonna be out there.
It's probably sports.
I'm gonna be other than Tim's and be out there with Oh, yeah, we got to goto pizza.
Yeah, Gear Delhi's air.
Yeah, we're going to Giordano's We're goingto angels a Donald Trump. I don't know you guys.
You heard the address? Yeah. Yeah.
You know the thing.
You know the lyrics anyways.
All right, Tim and me, everybody already knows.
But tell people where to find you on the internet and, uh, and find all the exciting Tim.
It's Ah, Twitter is at SD, Dodger and state with its to graft.
Well, those are the main places where you're supposed to take longer for that.
Tim Rogers esmie dot dot dot com slash authors Last what's again? Tim Rogers.
Thanks for joining us.
And thank you for giving us all of the insider.
Ah, real inside.
Baseball prospect talk with Brooke.
Tim, Tim, Tim, the face of the franchise.
We appreciate him.
Yeah, I think this is.
See you next week.
Okay, Tim t the face of the franchise.
So all that let's catch up with some of our friends over here on on this stream side.
So Carlos says the home run Derby ruined jocks swing.
I don't know if he had more.
Didn't he hit like, ruin this swing? Because he's only gotten better since then? Yeah, he got stupid.
Take five or six was after.
Why didn't you? I don't like those people that say the home run Derby ruins People's Year who take 500 swings a day.
It's not gonna One day is not gonna ruin that.
Kevin on Periscope says I'm a Dodgers fan here in Texas.
Rangers would be a great place for jock.
Sure, I will drive.
Oh, here's the thing.
The Rangers need talent because they have a new ballpark.
Like can't open a ballpark without, like, a new face and get talent.
You can get shocked.
Oh, and they have already have already have.
Ah muscly John Peterson.
We have fact, Dr Anderson, but yeah, we got fat.
They got thick with three C's Jack Peterson.
Have you seen hands ass.
They could hit like 105 home runs next year together.
Just awkward fielding an awkward looking right fielder.
We're gonna answer this.
All together towards the end of the show are a little bit after Bikaner See on YouTube Asks what should Mookie Betts walk up song Be a couple of mucky bit it all for the Mookie.
My leading candidate is Ah, remember Shane McMahon Money song when he would mark out.
Remember that wrestling idol ready? Where you at a good song? Eddie.
He's a Eddie Money insert.
Insert the song.
You know what? If I was lucky Bets, I would walk up to Hotel California because he hits before him.
And then now, now Cody's is there, like the eye right now? Uh uh.
Dan from Cali wasn't paying attention much of the off season, which is fine.
That was a long off season, but he says Jack, the Frisco for Will Smith.
He's in Atlanta now, but he could also go to Frisco Spitz.
If that's what they want, we can go get Travis d'Arnaud for you to get that tattoo.
Thio Tina G Man talking about the jock side of thing. It's a business.
He knows that 100% he should know.
I'm pretty sure his agents have kind of advised him on this.
I don't even know, like I haven't heard whether or not Jack was there.
He saw some kind of a make big man baby, usually arbitration hearings Per Trevor Bauer on his.
Ah asked me anything, thing said.
Usually players were in attendance for they're usually them with their lawyer.
And then there's like the arbitrator.
That's out of the lawyers.
Why do you want to get it? Get it in here.
A CZ That's what she said.
Jimmy, Jimmy Foster has been blowing up our chances.
F the Astros and we could not agree more.
So that's how you know.
I mean, that's what you would last the Astra.
That's when you know it's like a big Newsweek for us when we're not even talking about like because we've spent the past six months talking about the Astros, everybody should just be talking about how bad Boston is right now.
They're having the worst six weeks of their life, and they haven't even I don't know.
Boston through it a few times.
Somebody asked about Ah, Jack.
We'll get to that because that's the end of the show.
The show? Because no, Would you Don't watch it that far.
We don't want you to see that roach ass.
Can we call Camelback Ranch House? Grandma built? Hell, yeah.
Grandma knows what's up with anybody.
Know of a good Airbnb in Arizona from February 23.
20 way are having a very hard time finding a spot or a parking lot.
We can put a tent up.
You could catch me sleeping in the parking lot. Yeah.
Uh, came back. Oh.
Have you ever seen major league? Where, uh, remember when they cut Willie Mays Hayes and he's in the cot outside? Yeah.
That's gonna Yeah.
You already start a fire.
Yeah, I'm down to camp Snake stamps.
I can air mass scorpions is the thing.
They're scorpions in Arizona.
Yeah, I could not an air mattress in the in the old lady's hunt element.
All my ex, not not a sponsor.
Oh, I could sleep in my car.
Yeah, because wait, did the seats even go back and I gotta see 00 I saw that Yeah, very proud of you. Thank you.
I'm seeing some quality.
Some quality answers to the to the jock walk up song questions.
We'll get to that. I mean, the other guy. Mochi.
Marcus Marcus, Marcus Lynn Markets. Lindsay.
So more Muecke, though we got to talk about, are fully operational.
Death star guys, this is a pretty locked and loaded team.
No doubt the Dodgers have added a bona fide star in Mookie Betts and already joining a very loaded roster that still, I mean, how many home runs of the Dodgers hit last year Like 256 A lot.
What? The right answer.
Mookie had an air quote down year and hit 29 home runs and so posted, like about seven wins above replacement.
As we saw Joe Davis making fun about that, Um, as we prepare here, toe crack, open a beer because we do have ah, video clip here of an interview with our friend Tim.
We'll talk about our friends at Figueroa Mountain because we got a brewery that sent us beer Guys, we finally made it.
We got a beer sponsor like this is what Brooke and I have talked about.
For how long have you been doing this show? Now, like 30 years.
Almost 79 years year.
Are you on Twitter? Who? I don't know.
At Fig Mountain, it might be, but Figueroa Mountain was nice enough to give us Ah, good amount of beer because they understand how we operate in how we really give out our love.
So shout out to them.
This this one looks meeting 7.2.
We're gonna be We're gonna die.
Thank you to figure out Mountain.
I put mine in a cozy because I wanted there to be equal representation.
Amiable Della his smooth.
Yeah, well, that was his fault.
Well, there's one back here if you want it after.
Oh, yeah, Way Have a four pack back here because we drank too.
But you know what this one was? Well, what we are excited about Mookie, the player coming to l.
Because we we understand we can see a statue and go on baseball reference. You know the stats.
But you know, there's more to markets Lynn bets than just baseball.
So, again, I had the opportunity to talk with Dodgers broadcaster Mr Tim.
Who was Boston? Ah, Boston broadcaster over there.
The Red Sox for, I think, three or four seasons.
He was there for a little bit.
He was part minute.
He was part of the championship season as well in 18 that may or may not have been ill gotten, but we're getting that.
But he had an opportunity to see him firsthand.
So Tim was nothing but high on this fine 27 year old coming to town.
Go and roll that beautiful being footage there.
Gary, obviously, you're you're in AA wealthy position of knowledge to talk about it.
You know, just tell us a bit, you know, tell Dodger fans a bit about what they can expect out of Mookie Betts in L. A.
It's gonna take about five seconds before L. A falls.
Uh, he's just that kind of player.
He's got an electric personality.
He's so good on the field.
He's so good with his teammates.
He's so good with the fans.
He's just a good person, and he does a lot of things.
Um, you know, off the field very quietly, and he just doesn't because he's a good person, you know, for example, in the World Series in 2018 somebody spotted him after one of the World Series games at, like midnight or one of the boarding giving trays of food to the homeless people who are camped out by the Boston Public Library, which is relatively not all that far from Fenway Park.
But he didn't want anybody to know he was upset that somebody found out because he said, I don't do it, but people can, you know, say what a good guy.
He does it out of the goodness of his heart.
And he'd have been happier had no one ever found out.
He doesn't strike me as somebody that does it for the Graham, as they say these days.
No, no, no, he's just Ah, you know, he's good around the clubhouse.
He's not that overly, you know, Uh, boisterous rah rah kind of guy.
He's not gonna come in and just think it's planes is the plane's not gonna be like that.
He is going to go about his business.
He gets along with people, but he's on business when he gets to the ballpark.
Um, but he uh, you know, he's really, really good at every aspect of the game, so that that's somebody that you're excited to add to your club.
I feel I had definitely feel like if you could add somebody, the talents of that, but also just the nice guy that that he sounds like he is well rounded ball player on and off the field, and we're gonna have more with that.
That never interview on our YouTube channel will be on youtube dot com slash Dodgers nation TV.
That should be coming out later today or sometime early tomorrow, But it's really good conversation.
He's gonna fit right in with all the all the charity work that dog is already doing.
Think they're this big? Yeah, compared to like, but you kind of well, Lakers, you know, like this team really helped felt this city and does a really good job with charity work.
So for sure, you know, using you kind of wonder, though it, like it is lining up to be his No.
One season is only season in L.
We don't know if he's in state.
Does he want to establish a lot of charity efforts? I mean, honestly, he has an opportunity.
If he wants to make a big influence that he wants to set something of his legacy on for lessons or anywhere in the world.
This is a great city to do it in.
You know, Just look at the if you play well, you work hard and you do everything right and you do help the people back here in L.
Look at the way the city treats you.
You know, we're still dealing with a lot of the Kobe stuff, but he world saw, like what this city can do to appreciate somebody that does that.
And the world gets to see what the city can do together.
If we want to contribute to something, you know, donate to the right charities and, you know, help out the right people.
Mookie of old has always struck me as that person.
I heard the story back in the World Series, and he's always been the kind of players like that's kind of player I want on my team because he's gonna he's gonna get back to the city, you know, for what it's worth.
Hey, hasn't you know he hasn't posted about anything.
I mean, he has to show Boston he's a little bit, Yeah, I mean, you know, on on the honest instagram on this, whatever social media, he's not a huge Twitter guy.
Whatever that's worth, he's not.
He doesn't actually, Mart.
It doesn't engage in that.
For what it's worth, he's also not really a big social media guy, just in general, like a post once every couple of weeks.
I feel really dumb saying that I'm talking about that.
But, uh, do doesn't post very often.
So he's not super involved in social media.
He's kind of like Bellenger.
You know, Billy kind of just post when he's with his buds having fun, kind of.
And he doesn't really That's a thing.
That's part of the conversation.
You know, Maur of the conversation that that Tim never and I had.
It's like, you know, he doesn't like it was part of the interview.
He doesn't do this stuff for the Graham.
He doesn't try to do anything that really pointed out.
I mean, you obviously somebody like like J. T.
And somebody like Kershaw, they're a little bit more, you know, open, invisible with their charities because they're in L. A.
You got to figure the hashtag Hollywood lifestyle.
You can get some Maur more people out here and get more money out of people.
You know, the last couple of seasons we've gone Thio Kershaw's Ping Pong tournament.
You know that each of the last two were hosted by what's Breaking Bad Guy's name again? Guy who does the meth took Bribe Grace and does how each of the last two years, because he was the embassy in the event he bought out the first, like one of the squares was $6300 or whatever like that.
Which again, for the celebs, it's chump change.
But they also can't just give all their money to that whatever.
But yeah, for sure, you know, you would really think like that was one of things I said last week, too.
It's like the idea of having him here having Mookie Betts here in L.
Here with the Dodgers on Day one.
Camelback Ranch is going to play up so much, he's gonna get to know these guys.
He's going to see the charitable efforts, you know, You know, we've made a little bit of fun here.
Manny were married or many, uh, Ramirez doing this show for times.
Manny Machado? Yeah.
Oh, man, he showed up.
He did some charity effort, but he did show up to Thio.
Yet Walter White he showed up to Kershaw's Ping Pong tournament.
Is one season here.
You know, he's only been on the hay was there and he dressed the right way.
Johnny Hustle is TMR spec for Tim.
Respect we got We got a twitch person.
Oh, my lip today.
Two more respect for back for while.
Did you G m r spec? Yeah, a president.
You make, like a welcoming basket for the rest of your twitch.
People like Twitch.
We were gonna pay you Tonto upkeep twitch for us.
Then we're gonna need you to, you know, properly greet these people.
Jimmy Foster says you guys are boring. Now change the subject.
I'm sorry that giving eyes boring to you, but you know what? It is what it is.
So look another twist person on twitch todo Which Paula? Duke Importantly beyond all the Dodger blue bleeder.
Have you seen him? There's a number one.
There's a growing number of them were doing.
But there again, on top of all the niceties that that bets does bring to the community, even though he might not post about it again.
The most important thing to all of us.
He's **** good baseball player, and he puts his team in the best position to win ballgames.
And not only are we excited with so our projection systems because Dakota I should've made a graphics.
A graphic for this.
But Dakota projected the Dodgers will win.
What is 100 and three wins a season right? Which is three less than last year, which was a franchise record.
But, well, weak ass team was a lot more than the 93 or ah, 98 you said I said 93 on Channel five last year, but I didn't say 98.
What do you feel? What a better person you're talking about? 103.
Uh, look, are you taking over the under? I'm taking the over.
Oh, over on 100 degree.
Yeah, And here's the thing.
I'm taking the over on 103 by saying we're gonna win 105.
So I'm not taking that much over talking about you.
I think the Dodgers will win 105 games.
Last year, there were over 99 Right? I said 98 last year.
I took the over but 90.
Yeah, I'll take you.
This would be over, I think was I think it was set at 94 or so.
You thought they'd do a slightly under? I thought they'd go slightly.
I will take the under just because 103 is high.
There will be some learning curve, but just a consistent with you saying that.
But I do think they went over 100 games.
Oh, you do? Yeah.
Wow, that's That's a That's a 100 weight 100.
Who is talking on that microphone from you? Because because I took the under and that you weren't clean. Man, you did not.
You what usually go over right? No.
Usually goes under Under.
Said I'll go overboard in Korean party guests 105 No, I said I guess one of you said yes.
So I just went under.
Okay, I went under the one or three.
Yeah, I got bold prediction, Vince, I'm convinced that they're gonna be 100 5 win team and They're just gonna We had a couple.
I saw a couple of people say that, but you know, there's gonna be a few 120.
Mike says 120 on periscope.
Uh, I saw a couple people say that they thought a few NL West team might give us a run for our money.
Not necessarily take the division, but make it close.
I really don't see that happening.
In a spirit of the Rockies, there's no one to be afraid of, Really.
People are like, Oh, the Padres got some players and it's like, Yeah, they got some bats for sure.
Dottie's is gonna be an animal who player all You're gonna be a past.
If he's healthy, he still can't discount the fact that you have won for sure.
Starting pitcher and four maybes and big babies at that big made quality.
Maybe quality made big maybes.
And beyond that, they got a good bullpen project.
Difficult Bullpen's great bullpen.
Historical recent wheeling.
Historically, the Dodgers air very good against Padres bullpens.
And for whatever reason, I'm not sure why they tore up curvy 80.
It was lights out.
Reliever Most of his E R.
Against the Dodgers against the Dodgers last year.
So I'm going to take the over. I'm gonna say 105.
I'm gonna say they run away with that division.
All right, I'll go one on one.
There it is. That's good. Somebody really Brooke market for me.
Dan from Cali says 110 wins.
We got lipping Duca on twitching on 100 wins.
19 says Gary Lee for Commissioner of What? Yes, of the world Roaches.
All I care about is 11 in October.
And, um, I don't use the bell, the desk bell enough.
So I'm gonna go with that, Thinks that we're gonna clinch before the All Star game of what? Hey, what's our magic number right now? I'm asking you, I was gonna post that earlier on Twitter.
Ernie says 113 wins over on Facebook 113.
That's a lot of wins.
I think people forget how many with alleges the record.
1 16 Sure, I forget.
One very Mariners.
James Brown did not win the World Series 100.
Didn't give it up.
They didn't even get out of the first.
That's how it goes.
You don't wanna win the turns.
A ****y beer, guys.
What seven point to alcohol by volume? Thank you.
Fig Mountain like you, fig about the love that we have and we have more flavor.
There's a coffee. We're going whole night.
I don't know if it's good.
I'm sure they were supposed to finish all of it tonight on the show.
No, Charles Hamilton, one of my country. All right.
Our boy Hamel says 104 58 cooker says 110 Logan Jones coming in hot.
And 4 1500 at that.
Doesn't you know what? I'm gonna build something on the site where everybody can put their number in, and then we can come back to it during the parade.
My wife says 12 because it's your favorite number.
I mean, she made 12 losses. Yes.
They're gonna win 150 games.
2020. Dodger chances.
I'd be happy with 85 wins in a parade, so a J says there's a new sheriff in town.
How about how crazy it would be if we only want 85 games? Think aboutthe rollercoaster drama on Twitter.
Well, good is always win.
If we only want 85 games, then that means that we'd probably trade off a lot of people at the deadline and get a lot of prospects.
I'll always be on hand using modern fire, if only 1 85 So chance gonna run.
Twitter wants to run Twitter for that.
Chances are we're gonna win a lot of ball games.
But, um, thankfully, things in the playoffs will be normal.
Normal? This is a killer steak way aboutyou.
Thankfully, playoffs are gonna change.
The formatting is not going to change this offseason and firm or or this boat's coming, posting and for more, we're gonna go to Brooke me three live at the desk, live in field, live in field now.
I'm not kidding. Look, there's the whole idea.
You guys, Maybe you've heard about it, but Major League baseball is considering changing the playoff format.
And okay, I'm gonna admit to you guys something.
I'm not okay with admitting this.
I'm not proud of it.
I was really low on the idea of two wild card teams.
Can you believe that? Back in the day.
Yeah, but I was an old man like, what were you for? You 15 was pretty young and I was like, Don't change the game on baseball.
Yeah, it's weird to think of the fact that the day baseball broke when there was, you know, the two game 1 60 three's or 16 whatever the hell it was, you were You were 20.
I mean, fricking kit walker.
Uh, the F C c If you're listening Money miss at diamond huggers.
Uh, anyway, majorly Big mountain.
You could talk to them.
Major League Baseball is looking at changing their playoff format.
Whether or not that actually goes through, it might not.
But part of that would be gets riel.
Really? L a r missed right here, moving from 10 to 14 teams and adding hit kind of what they're calling it the reality TV type of format to determine who Which teams play each other a little weird.
It coincides with what, like the TV contracts are expiring, which is a big thing behind it, to where they're going to need those big contracts again in those big chart.
Here's the thing.
Those big contracts are gonna come regardless that we don't have to.
We don't have to change the playoffs, guys, but what? It's heavily influenced by it.
The best team in the league receives the buy into the division series.
The two remaining division winners and the wild card team with the best record of the four advance each host each of the best of three series games.
But here's the kicker.
The division winner, with the second best record, gets to select its wild card opponent from three wild card winners.
Not hosting a Siri's the division winner with the horse record, then gets it chews its opponents from the remaining two.
And the final matchup is the wild card winner with the best record against the wild card team not yet chosen.
So it gives teams a choice on who they want to play, depending on the record, depending on their position and depending on the seating.
It's really strange.
It's really backwards.
I kind of hate it.
The author game picking your own.
Yeah, yeah, it has.
It definitely has the, you know, the the tourists All star Game ish field like fun and games.
It's like No, wait, this is the playoffs.
This is your life.
I think the idea is that it's there hoping we don't need, like, the theatrics of it all.
But we're hoping they're hoping they're gonna I I want the theater is going to make a show out of it.
Gin rummy on periscope Just one said They hand out roses to the team's moving for comments like, anyways, they're hoping that it stops teams from taking.
Taking thing taking is a big problem in baseball right now, because if you guys don't know, I know we're really, really, really spoiled that we get to be in L.
A and watch one good team and one team in L. A.
Yeah, there's the Lakers and the Dodgers are teams.
The problem is in the lower markets and some of the smaller markets teams aren't doing well.
Fans are showing up in the first place, and even in some markets where teams are doing well in, vans aren't showing up.
Tampa Bay teams are tanking as a result of it.
You look at the Marlins who are just and the Orioles like the Orioles might.
The Orioles this season might be putting out the worst roster I have ever seen in my entire life and I play it on a one and 19 team in high school.
It is a bad, bad roster, and so there's there's gotta be.
There's gotta be a point where Major League Baseball steps in is like stop losing on purpose.
We need people watch the games, please, wrote shows.
When half the league makes the playoffs, it's a joke.
It is a pity, like it keeps building and, you know, back, back in the good old days, when only the what the two teams made it or whatever the hell it wasa there only to play after that was bad.
Yeah, I once the wild card, like the original wild card, came in and was in 97 or something like that like that.
I feel like that Works gives people more to play for.
I thought I wouldn't be overly on the 20 with the 2013 introduction of the second wild card team per division it does.
It makes the game more fun, but still it gives more teams something to play for.
But still it's too much.
You know, they they were going on about it on MLB network a lot today and I'm surprised by the people that are in on it.
But beyond that right now, I'm not surprised that the people who are not in on it namely the players, are not a big fan of it.
But, you know, I lost my train of thought right there.
You don't like it? I know I'm not a big fan.
I think it it's just trying too hard.
You are a big fan.
I'm not a big guys.
Um I think there's a limit leading me, though.
Is this the right? Is this what baseball is supposed to be doing? You're talking about the c B.
A about to expire like this is the C B.
A is about to expire.
You haven't even wrapped up the findings in your friggin Red Sox scandal.
You don't know how to punish.
People clearly are not out from under the bus on the Astros punishment.
What the f are you guys doing? Rob? Manfred, what's wrong with you? And apparently, you know somebody in the stream immediately.
It was like you.
The Trevor Bauer ranting about our power, you know, hired like three people to record him as enemy radio host.
Here's the thing I didn't hear it. I saw somebody.
I do it over there like Like I think Bauer realized that fans like when he yells about baseball and not about fans.
It's definitely got onto it like, Oh, they are eating this crap.
This has been a really good off season for him, like building up hands.
Even though he's kind of like a **** of a person, he's not a great dude.
We don't know everything about him.
I've never met the boy, but I love the fact that he speaks out.
You're yelling at your **** employer.
Proud of you, boy, That's clutch right there.
Alex Wood is not a fan.
He was talking about how the Kansas City Royals just sold for a $1,000,000,000.
What, they're still in the league? Sure, they just one in 2015 the one World Series Salvador prez by the team.
Hey didn't make that much in free agency.
Still, like already Marina Body and Theo was Royals, shrug on periscope says the wild card games have been amazing.
Yeah, I think with where we're at you, you've maximized the amount of teams you can get in there.
You've maximized the revenue.
Uh, just walk away.
Just walk away from like, where you're at right now.
Clearly, it just It feels so much like they're trying to.
Mookie Betts says I love you.
I appreciate you, Mookie Betts.
You know, T Mobile gives their customers a free year.
MLB TV and I didn't know that rising rising does.
Disney plus two.
Don't be bringing your sponsors in here.
If you could hook it up, I don't want to pay for it again.
I'll still not get out from under this this whole stupid playoff thing without it.
Just feeling like I just pulled.
All right? It's a proposal.
They've probably been working on it for a little while.
It was not the right time to bring it up, but it just feels to me like they're trying to distract him.
The astronaut and the buzzers.
It's that they're like, Oh, they're ****ed off about this.
You're gonna change the playoffs and make it stupid.
Part time passed, and then you're like they don't even remember the actual date.
Then you forget.
Oscar Gomez buttons it up perfectly.
why try and reinvent baseball? It's true trying to do try and change it up again anyways, I'm offered changes.
I'm offered, you know, improvements.
I'm all for that.
This is not improvement. This is weird.
Kate says don't need to become like all the other sports where 50% of the teams make playoff.
Pat Dwyer is not a fan of the wild card.
I wouldn't meet here. Believe.
Wouldn't terribly be opposed to them making maybe making it the best two or three in the wild card.
I don't I don't I'm not a huge fan in the world with the winner.
Not a huge fan of that.
You know, you catch one team on a bad day.
That's why I don't like playoff football.
Yeah, such my biggest big I don't like play a little straight.
This guy said, Where's Brooke? I was expecting a cute girl.
I was lied to nasty you.
You and every single person that's communicate we will over e mail for the past 10 years.
All right, but relax.
So we're gonna introduce try our best, e f l try to try our best to introduce a new segment to end the show each week.
Uh, I'm gonna call it Final Thoughts unless we decide to come to come up with something more clever.
Th if anybody is really good with graphics and all that stuff.
Like if you guys want to make, like, motion graphics and different cards for Gary to push your buttons on as we change, we're happy to, you know, plug your guys stuff any anyway, for the inaugural final thoughts with Brooke and Clint th NGS Ah, Jack apology.
So last week ahead.
No, this is I'm putting this on you.
Honestly, because I think you were kind of stuck with them right now.
So you're slightly on it.
It's not like it's half hearted portrait.
What if the odds he's gonna ever run into me, though? You know we get you No way.
I know that we get credentials and stuff like maybe you guys just do it and then I won't ever have to see him.
This year knows way.
I know he does try to get him free ice cream, but he's like, No, we've had a lot of has had a lot of happy.
We've had a lot of cool.
We've had a lot of happy and a lot of ****ysis today on the show for sure.
Um, we've also had a lot of *****ing.
We also had Figaro.
Mountain already said, Yeah, come on.
I gotta change this too explicit.
Yeah, but that's why I think we do need address last week.
Certain hosts of certain shows.
We're very excited that the Dodgers were trading joc Pederson search of certain shows.
Ah, things may have been said in the heat of the moment and the excitement of getting Mookie Betts and also trading Jack Peterson that, you know, maybe he should extend certain people should extend apology of sorts.
I'm just putting that out.
There is part of the apology, though.
Well, going to start apologizing.
Am I apologizing? Here's a thing assembled.
I stumble in a sari gift pack for him.
We got beef jerky.
I got Funyuns, um, not a sponsor of got peanut butter.
M and M's and Twix taste the rainbow.
So, in terms of being sorry for what I said, you know, sorry is just such an arbitrary, you know, subjective word.
You know what? What a sorry, even mean What does it mean to be apologetic in your opinions and and, you know, it's just like your opinion, man.
Like it were his jersey.
His jersey and Katie are pointed out to me that it's mus**** stained, and I remember that.
Here's the deal.
You're on my team.
You all right? If you're not on my team, you know g t f o.
But you know, he's here.
So last week, you while he's here. Yeah.
Jock, I love you.
Thank you for big.
Thank you for being present.
Would you like? I feel you in this Chili's tonight and, uh, you know, whatever I can't say Like, I'm sorry, but I apologize.
Tim says orange slices? No, we're trying to make it up to him, you know, again something.
So I went to 99 Cent store today.
He could afford her.
If he wants better snacks, he's got $7.
So anyway, you can get more.
Here's some jerky for you.
Throw anyway, Brian.
Twix takes really open this.
That's up to, you know, whatever about then the show.
The point is, Mookie Betts is a Dodger.
We had a very deep lineup.
Everything is rainbows, including Twix and Skittles.
We do have a second podcast.
We will be doing it this week.
It's gonna come out on Friday, so make sure you check that out.
We're gonna talk.
Actually, we're going.
We'll be talking a bit about, um, the Astros.
I think we got a touch on that a little bit.
We're gonna be going through more of the comments that we didn't read today on this show.
So make sure you listen to make sure we find out whether or not we pulled your comment.
But also I got a bone to pick with one l hashtag MLB scout about his ****ysis of Verdugo and the Dodgers being their antics.
There are antics laden team.
So when he was, it's teriyaki Asian.
I just I literally didn't pick anything.
