What's going on? Everybody.
Those of you watching live and on demand for the replay, I guess thats a technical term for it.
Finally logging back on here After a while, as you could see, my dad drops a little different.
I moved, uh, crazy few weeks.
The last, uh, let's not say the last two months something just stuff about craziness.
But, uh, hopefully things will smooth soon.
Um, still trying to get things in order.
My office and room here is still ah, a lot to be done.
And I guess those that have moved before can definitely ah, understand what I'm going through right now, Especially when we're downsizing to a smaller place, you know, to make it easier for some of the you know, the people I care for move around and stuff.
So I gotta get rid of a lot of stuff and try to find out where things go here.
But my Eagles books right there.
Jim Ross, slobber, knocker and all.
All those good books there.
E don't even plan that.
Earn the shotgun and even plan.
That's that's even better.
Maybe I could do something with that.
I actually tried to put that in the closet, and I wouldn't fit.
So it's out in the open.
Ah, for this video, I do wanna touch on tthe e w b ah quarter for 2019 earnings call that happened earlier this week.
Uh, may involve Johnson. Did a podcast.
Ah, straight shooters on you condone.
Listen to every podcast.
The shooter's radio dot com That was our 225th episode.
Um, that's a lot of episodes are taken back to 2015.
Basically, our whole episode was on the conference calls.
What was said Bye.
Vince McMahon and the interim chief financial officer right now.
And don't be Frank Rid**** who replaced Ah, really, I guess to people that would have been on the call.
Ah, or maybe just George Barrios, former w be vice president.
That's nice President Now And, uh, Michelle Wilson, who left the company, I believe it was.
It might have been two weeks ago now.
Ah, that news came out, which was kind of like like well, like somehow happen.
They were with the company of 10 plus Years, a no.
Vince McMahon released statements that thanking them for all their, you know, years of service.
But ah, that was kind of like ahead of their Everyone knew the conference call is coming for their fourth quarter earnings of 2019.
So a lot of people were preparing for Ah, very interesting conference call.
Uh, the biggest thing to come out of that, in my opinion and the opinion of my co host of On Johnson on the Straight Shooters, which is why we took the whole episode to talk about it was the future of the W B network.
And what exactly will happen in terms of not only the content Ah, that's on there right now, moving forward if we're even going to get live pay per views on the network of that wasn't you know, there was no official announcement on the conference call, but it was said by Vince McMahon himself that there's no better time.
Two exercise selling of our rights to all of the major streaming service is who ah are really clamoring for their content.
And Vince McMahon went on to say that could be a significant increase, obviously in terms of revenue.
And right now I'm citing the side dot com article on the conference call by Dan Garland posted on February 6th of that is my source for this video.
Some of the transcriptions and everything like that.
So you know, going back to that quote where he says there's no better time to exercise the selling of their rights to all the major streaming service is, um, you know that that Frank Rid**** went on to say That includes everything.
It doesn't just have to be paper views. It could be do***entaries.
It could be, You know, those ah, live, uh, shows like 205 Live that Ares after Smackdown.
Maybe next, tuk, you know that.
I mean, there's really no I don't want to say there's no market for that in the US right now, but the next UK might be one of the other shows that they might try toe find, you know, a deal with another streaming service.
Uh, because right now it's said and they said on the conference, call 1.
42 million subscribers to the W B network as of right now, which was a decrease of 10% the company expects the subscriptions to increase the 1.
47 in the first quarter of 2020.
Obviously, WrestleMania season, they probably have seen despite since 2014.
And how many subscriptions in the first quarter of the year ago, up during WrestleMania season versus go down, Maybe after WrestleMania season? Or maybe in the fall after summer Slam the summer? Sam's their second biggest event? Um, yeah, in my opinion, I think I think many would agree.
I think it goes.
WrestleMania Summer, Siam Royal Rumble Survivor Series, The Big Four.
That money in the bank being the fifth big one, in my opinion, um, so right now there's 1.
42 million subscribers to the W B network, which is not great at all, if you compare it to the other subscriber numbers for stop for serving service is like ESPN plus.
And I think, uh, we mentioned on the straight shooters that there's six or seven million subscribers to that right now.
Um, and that's, you know, 5 99 months and Disney Plus, which saw a huge, uh, debut.
I think it was two months after launch.
It was like 26 million or something like that.
And then a few days ago, I read an article that they're up to 28 million subscribers.
So there's definitely something to be said for W Now, looking to these other streaming service is whether it be maybe even who loo or Netflix, uh, to host their content, maybe live pay per views that will make the most sense.
I think, uh, obviously shop WrestleMania around.
Maybe you don't sell WrestleMania for $10 on your network.
Maybe you sell it on.
Ah, I don't know when NBC's streaming service is technically going to start, but I believe it set for the first quarter 2020 if it's called Pea****.
If the pea****s streaming service is available by WrestleMania time, do they sell the rights to WrestleMania on Pea****? Because you know that NBC Universal doubled the relationship? I could absolutely see that happening.
Eso it really interesting stuff in regards to the W B network coming out of that conference call now, it really seems like by the end of the first quarter, something's got to change with the W B network.
Vince McMahon said.
They were already, you know, in the negotiations with streaming service is about selling off some of their, you know, content Ah, which obviously still could be the live pay per views could be something else.
But they said an announcement could be made by the by the end of the first quarter, which would be, uh, March or April around that area, which is WrestleMania time.
So, um, if they're already halfway there, maybe they get a deal done in February and then you have the whole month of March to promote WrestleMania on NBC's streaming service is, or another streaming service, Disney.
Plus, I don't see that happening, but I've seen crazier things.
I think they would want somehow to work out a deal there with 28 million subscribers on Disney.
Plus, uh, you know, obviously, that wouldn't just be like Okay, so describe the Disney Plus for 6 99 then watch WrestleMania know you would.
You would pay the you know, 60 or $70 at WrestleMania was before the W B network came about so you would have this subscription service and then you would buy the paper view itself.
I honestly think they should not charge for every single pay per view each month like that.
Maybe he's just a big ones.
WrestleMania of Royal Rumble, Summer Slam survivor, Siri's and maybe money in the bank because that's become such a staple of Double B's pay per view schedule that I consider it a big pay per view.
Um, you know, maybe you go that route because that's what you have seeded with ESPN on ley.
ESPN plus subscribers can really get UFC pay per views now.
So you subscribe the ESPN Plus for 5 99 Then you buy the USC pay per view outright for whatever you know.
It is $70 or in a city or something like that.
So that's the model that U F C.
When they got criticized a lot for it because everyone thought, including me, that the paper view service kind of like changed with soul streaming.
Ah, especially with W B Network, where pay per view should be like we all got used to it.
We all got used to pay and 10 bucks to watch a pay per view each month.
So when a W came along with their pay per views, double or nothing, and then, uh, all out and then, ah, full gear where you had to pay, you know, $50 for the pay per view on bleacher report life or, you know, the fight TV up or even, like regular cable.
You could've bought the paper view on regular cable day.
W went that route and, you know, it was It was we all thought all scores.
Well, they can't afford to give away pay per views for $10 each.
Owen, like a police report, Live app.
If you just subscribed for a monthly fee, that would happen.
And and it's worked so far, I don't know how much a w is gonna increase those pay per view buys.
Come Ah, there next pay per view revolution.
But I really I really do think that it's it changes actually go.
We're actually going to see a change when it comes to Del baby pay per views and it's taken six years because it lodged almost six years to the day.
Ah, February 24th 2014.
We're just a few weeks away from that.
Ah, when the w never loans where they announced that not only I think they announce it in January, actually, Um, but then else, not only would you get all this on demand content, but all the pay per views would be available, and you wouldn't have to pay extra for them anymore.
So we're used to paying 10 bucks for a wrestling pay per view now, W B.
I guess they thought they were gonna change the game in terms of that.
And maybe they did for a while.
But they're clearly seeing those losses, um, in revenue or, ah, the chance to build off that revenue.
And maybe that's the reason George Barrios and Michelle Wilson left the company because they disagreed on that strategy.
And that's the visible man said in that statement when they left.
And it it does make sense entities or making this happen like UFC with ESPN Plus and maybe Dub Dub is looking at that and go, and that's kind of like what we thought would happen with us.
We thought we would have more than one and 1/2 Williams subscribers to the W B network.
Uh, and I'm telling you, compared to those other streaming service is definitely not, um, where they want to bay.
But ah, it should be interesting moving forward to seeing I don't think wrestling fans, you're gonna be all that happy when that happens.
Because it's been six years and with double be with all the money they have, we just assume that Okay, like every paper used to stay $10 a month whether you subscribe free for a month and then cancel it or to subscribe on paying the time 99 a month, which is what I've done, you know, since February 2014.
And ah, it's funny because the day that w numbered launched, I took a personal day off work just so I could watch fall brawl in 1997 because that was one of the biggest paper views that I regret not ordering or asking my mom to order at the time.
Uh, because I would point the IRA had already purchased or my mother had already purchased ground zero in your house from the W P.
F. When I was only allowed one pay per view of love.
So, uh, definitely fall below 97 was classic pay per view, in my opinion.
So I called out the first save the network law just to watch that, and there were problems with the network.
I think it froze at the same spot, and I tried to like four different times and I was getting really angry.
But, you know, it took a while to work some of those kinks out, and the network kind of was smooth up until this latest cell. Tate.
My preference to watch his own apple tea.
They had the Windows 10 app and it's been so smooth for May all these years.
And then once that update hit the window, San App was rendered obsolete.
Can't use that anymore.
I try to use Google Chrome, but if freezes all the time Internet Explorer, I I might have to try.
I might have to try these different browsers on my laptop and then the apple TV up eyes very kind of screwy it no other way to put it then, Ah, screw me that this Apple TV app for the W B network.
So I generally use the W B network tow watch classic content.
I don't really watch their original content minus the do***entary type pieces and the like.
That was great, uh, is great, I should say, because that's hopefully going to continue and honestly, maybe, Ah, I really am a big fan of the bump, the new to do shows like It just reminds me one of those Saturday morning.
Ah, double IVF shows like mania, live liars, stuff like that.
So, uh, but that's available on their YouTube Facebook page.
You know, it's it's not just it available in the W B network, so you don't need to get the double of the network to watch that.
Ah, and also in the Society column article and mentions that the W stock went down 27% last week after George Barrio said Michelle was left the company.
So I think a lot of the investors knew a lot of the people knew that something was coming.
Ah, yes, the numbers were down.
But I think the biggest news to come out of this conference call was the double of the network and the future of the W B network and how I definitely believe by WrestleMania or maybe right after WrestleMania, we're gonna see a whole new way of the way W does pay per view business, and maybe they can keep their pay per views on the network, but just make you pay for it.
Now, uh, you know the tiered.
The tiered prices have been in discussions for a long time.
And even according to this article, it was set.
Ah, the tiered pricing pricing was set to be unveiled in January of this year, and it didn't happen.
So maybe that's still to come.
We still have a lot to ah go through its WrestleMania season, so they're already busy as it is.
Ah, this man's launching the XFL today, and I'm actually going to watch the product to see how it is compared to the way it was 20 years ago.
And we'll see if the XFL can become a viable revenue stream for Vincent man.
And I doubt I doubt they can shuffle money.
The double be like I don't know about this, you know, that just seems a legal business to me.
But I'm not Ah, business.
Ah, I'm not not a legal business expert, but, uh, definitely think that this man it will be focusing on football.
And maybe how the w B network makes money now Or maybe yes, somebody else, maybe Frank critic, uh, well, become, uh, officials.
Ah, chief financial officer at some point.
But right now he's the interim chief financial officer and maybe him and it's a man or have the same type of the strategy when it comes to the network and the pay per view business in the future.
So I am looking forward to seeing what happens with that as a wrestling fan myself, I don't for a pay per view.
I've done it with a W.
I support them like what they're doing.
I think you know the main event segment on dynamite this past week was excellent, with M.
J S and Wardlow hitting Cody with with a strap 10 times or his belt 10 times, and it was very like it was trauma filled.
You know, you had Justin Rose.
Come out, Brandy Rose.
Come out like Thorne Anderson, Come out.
You know, it's it told a story.
And that's what I love about Sara Lee.
How many flips somebody can do to the outside, or how many times they can twirl in the air if jumping off the top rope.
That's not why I watch wrestling.
I watch for the stories, and that was it might have been the best ending that dynamite has had since October, when they started on TNT, Um, one of the best, so I don't mind spending $50.
So what's one of their pay per views for W B I? I highly doubt, and I know they did it before, but I highly doubt they will expect wrestling fans to start paying 60 $70 for HD pay per views again after they've been given it $10.
Uh, campaign $10 a month for those pay per views.
So I definitely think that of changes coming, but I don't know.
But you can't just all of a sudden put every single pay per view on a different streaming service and expects wrestling fans to pay for that.
They definitely need to, ah, figure something out.
And I definitely think WrestleMania shouldn't be $10 like that was the biggest surprise to me when the network launched where they every single pay per view, including WrestleMania, was on there for 9 99 month.
Definitely WrestleMania, The Rumble Summer Slam, even money in the bag Survivor.
Siri's Those should be the pay per views that you pay, you know, 60 $70 for Ah, but as a fan, I'm not gonna like it.
I'm not going to like it because I'm so used to paying $10 a month for those shows.
Ah, but maybe it'll also spike a change in creative direction for the company and their three brands with raw smack down in the next.
He actually fall.
Smackdown was pretty good last night.
Ah, I haven't been a fan of it for a while.
It's felt like the same old double crap Ah, that we've had the last few years where it's not creative and all.
It's the same **** every day.
Uh, every show raw definitely feels different.
Role is definitely getting better.
Definitely has momentum and ecstasies and X T, which is still one of the best brands in wrestling today.
I just feel like they got to make sure they're created too.
Creative is in place before they make a move to, like, try, sell their paper views to a different streaming service.
So but my prediction is that they will team up with NBC and ah, the pea**** streaming service.
When that was live, I feel like it'll it'll actually help NBC on their end, because then not only can they promote their own shows in their own streaming service.
But they're like, Hey, we have double pay per views to.
And maybe there's a way that you could market that to make people that aren't so traveling in a double of your memory, to subscribe to the Embassy one and be like Okay, well, maybe I'll I'm not locked into a monthly Ah, a monthly amount for dub content.
I'm just It's double contents just will be available or something like that.
Maybe they can have several.
Tonight's main event is.
Part of that is they were on NBC back back in the day.
That would be cool.
I've already blown through all Saturday night's main events, so that's not going to necessarily get me to subscribe, but definitely some people with that nostalgic feeling that could be the the decision whether they decide to, uh, subscribe or not.
So I put that question out to you.
Ah, you know, if you're watching this on the replay, if you're watching this on Philly of women sir dot com.
If you really think that double B should as a business entity shop there, pay per views to other streaming service is that have higher subscriber accounts.
Or do you think they should just stay pat? Stand pat, Do what they do they've been doing for the last six years.
Even though I just have a feeling we're going to see change its inevitable coming from Vincent man on the conference call.
I just think I would be shocked if nothing changed.
So let me know what you think.
Let me know if you think it'll be, Ah, let me know if he even watched wrestling anymore.
Maybe you were a fan back in the day and now you're not.
Ah, like I get it, I get it.
I took two sabbaticals away from wrestling because it just became, you know, I needed to recharge a little bit and nothing was really grabbing my attention.
And I think I had one back in 2000 to 2003 and maybe, like a four or five months sabbatical where I just didn't watch wrestling at all.
And then I had another one in like, honestly, like 2011 to 12 where it was everything.
The way they produce their TV shows now just really bore the crap out of me, because everything so polished and ah, in a wrestling show in a sports showed nothing should be that polished your It shouldn't be like you're watching a movie.
You know, wrestling shouldn't be like you're watching move.
The only thing that should be similar is a story line, and you could follow it.
But not like these stupid camera shots where the persons like to standing like this.
And they're just looking like that at a TV that the audience concede to like.
No one watches TV like that, not at all.
So the way they produce shows, really, it just bugs me.
It bothers me, and it actually affects my enjoyment of the show.
When I just see stuff like that, Just it may be it's a personal problem.
Maybe other people like that, maybe other fans like that, but I just don't dig it, and I don't think I ever will.
Um, and I think that's part of it.
But that has nothing to do with the W B network.
I just thought I'd throw that in there so W B network changes coming.
Let me know if you will stay subscribed to the W B network.
If you if you were some strived and you stopped.
Like why? I know a lot of people would subscribe because of the Saudi Arabia shows, and I completely understand that, uh, I don't watch them to begin with.
There's nothing that happens like you could have a Star Wars star but you know, has no storyline purposes.
It doesn't follow.
Ah, like you build it up on wrong your Smackdown shows, but it doesn't five.
There won't be like a title change.
I know you have Bray Wyatt winning a title from Seth Rollins at the last Saudi Arabia show, but I was like, the first time that happened and the first few shows nothing like that happened.
It was basically just a filler chauffeur May and I feel like the same way for this one you saw last night.
I'll smack down Colbert Challenge. Great Wyatt.
I doubt you'll see Gold were when the Universal championship from Bray Wyatt in Saudi Arabia.
And if you did, then that's stupid, because there's no way Goldberg should be a world champion at this point.
And you're just killing Bray Wyatt the fiend to begin with.
So ah, not interested in in the upcoming Saudi show, but I'm sure all see results at some point.
But I definitely will be watching it live.
So that's also a reason, people Ah, stops describing them the network and then just creatively.
You know, like why a lot of people just described to it for the pay per views, because, hey, they'd rather pay 10 99 for a pay per view.
Then you know that they were interested in watching, like, the Royal Rumble and, like, 60 or $70.
So Ah, if there if the current product is not satisfying, why would you continue spending $10 on it or $11 on it? Ah, I I completely get that.
So let me know if you are still subscribed.
If you're going to unsubscribe if you unsubscribe him, why? As of right now, I subscribe.
Just so I know what I'm like.
I could talk about it.
I could watch the shows and make sure that I know what I'm talking about when I'm doing my podcast with Don Johnson and when I'm doing these videos and when I'm writing on Filion for mr dot com.

Read all our great content from everybody.
We do culture in and around Philly and, uh, other stuff like that.
So check that out.
And ah, I will catch you guys later this week, and I Maybe we'll, uh, delve into wrong.
And maybe I'll wait till, uh, maybe I'll wait till after died in my next run again.
Head to head because, uh, you know the ratings.
You know that I did the ratings.
The last few shows A W's, you know, continually winning.
Uh, they haven't hit it a 1,000,000 yet since the first week.
Or maybe second week.
I don't remember, but, uh, you know, both shows increased this past week, which is good.
Both shows have been very good for the most part, but there's always gonna be wonder, You know, there's always gonna be a side that takes down the other side, you know, whether it's an XY fans bashing a W already w fans bashing Annex T They're both fantastic shows.
And that was the whole reason.
I think everyone was excited for the Wednesday night War is to lift wrestling up Thio back into the mainstream consciousness.
It's not there yet.
And then, actually, wrestling fans were trying to sabotage that by continually degrading the other side that there not as big a fan off.
I could say I'm a fan of both the next CNW.
I'll call out the bad things on both shows, and ah, I think I did the other the other day, I said on Twitter, I wasn't I hate to be a curmudgeon.
I just hate all these flips to the outside, to the things that don't make sense in the course of a wrestling match that I was used to growing up.
You know, the psychology, the ring psychology like we don't see enough of that anymore.
You're not gonna have somebody tied to the outside and like like I don't know.
That's just it doesn't make sense to me in the grand scheme of professional wrestling match, but it is what it is.
It's what's in now.
It happens both an X t raw smack down A W happens everywhere.
It's just how it is now, and I think it's lame.
So maybe I am a curmudgeon, but I hate to be labeled as one, but not just call myself one.
And maybe it won't hurt my feelings.
But ah, you could catch me later this week and let me know your deal with the W B network and what you think will happen.
And if double be changed to ah, selling out there selling their pay per views to other streaming service is will affect your subscriptions of the network.
Ah, job the line at Nick Picone on Twitter where you can comment.
Ah, you know, follow me.
Philly of loser comment on the post and I will catch you guys later.
