00:00:09
So after all that searching, all that digging that entire process, the Eagles decide to not hire an offensive coordinator.
00:00:20
Okay, it was Ah, I kind of like a game.
00:00:27
Ah, little game of Bumble playing out and they couldn't find a match.
00:00:30
They went through all these candidates.
00:00:36
I think they wanted my calf a little bit.
00:00:38
I think they liked CAFTA.
00:00:39
They swiped, right? But Andy the big walrus was like, No, ain't happening.
00:00:43
He swiped left, didn't allow the interview to even happen.
00:00:46
So they went through all these different can't Graham Harrell went back to USC James Urban went back to Baltimore so they all swipe left.
00:00:56
And at the end of the day, Doug Peterson and, well, Doug Peterson is not gonna have an offensive coordinator as they're going to use an approach used by both the 40 Niners and the Los Angeles Rams in 2008 teeth.
00:01:12
So they're going with a passing game coordinator.
00:01:15
And they also already had the run game coordinator already in place with a startling So the offensive line coach, we have a big jump here for press Taylor, 32 years old gonna be the passing game coordinator.
00:01:30
He's gonna have a big jump here.
00:01:32
And, you know, it's hard to say, Andi, think about what's gonna happen here and what this is gonna look like because it kind of looks like the same staff is last year besides Rich Cantarella.
00:01:48
But it's like you got rid of Micro.
00:01:50
But what really changed now moving on the scan gorilla.
00:01:57
I like that higher and bringing him in to the fold, and he's gonna be brought in as the senior offensive assistant.
00:02:05
And you know the reason why he's key eyes.
00:02:07
Because I thought experience was really needed for the staff.
00:02:12
And, you know, at the end of the day here, as we look at what the Eagles have, you have Doug Peterson at the top bouncing off ideas offer this conglomeration, and you look at kind of how they built there.
00:02:28
They also don't have a general manager.
00:02:30
Howie Roseman isn't the GM, so they kind of have a conglomeration at the top that they again it bounce ideas in the room to figure out the best solution, and then they go about it that way.
00:02:41
It's kind of a progressive approach, and you look at the guys who are at the top.
00:02:46
Shanahan, McVeigh, Peterson.
00:02:49
I think we can all agree that these guys all know what they're doing.
00:02:52
Very, uh, progressive minds in the modern NFL.
00:02:57
So that's what we have here and a big hurdle as to why I think some of these candidates were reluctant to come to Philadelphia.
00:03:08
Peterson's calling the place and somebody like a gram Herro, who wants to actually be an offensive coordinator and maybe potential coach.
00:03:16
One day it head coach, he's gonna wanna call place.
00:03:20
I mean, he wants to progress in his career.
00:03:23
And if he's not calling the place in Philadelphia, then you know why.
00:03:28
Why relinquished what? He's doing it at USC.
00:03:31
So you have here Ah, different approach here.
00:03:35
Scare Carella coming in his cape.
00:03:37
This is big because I like what he did with not only Denver, but he has experienced with Count Channing.
00:03:45
He was with San Francisco 2017 to 2018.
00:03:49
Nick Mullens had him as his quarterback and did pretty well with him.
00:03:53
But you look at what he brings to the table.
00:03:55
It's misdirection in the boot.
00:03:58
He likes toe implement that sort of stuff into the offense.
00:04:01
And obviously, with Carson Wentz, that's something he does very, very well.
00:04:05
Throwing on the move, the bootlegs, the misdirection stuff, getting him on the boundaries.
00:04:10
That's where he's at his best and with scant gorilla having him in the room along with the fact that he has experience with Kyle Shanahan, all the motions and this shifts that he does that stuck Peterson to.
00:04:23
I mean, if you look at the Eagles offense, Ah, lot of stuff that they did inside of the 20 yard line, you get inside. Five.
00:04:30
Really, you do a lot of shifting emotions, right? But they have been exactly had some of the same success did in 2017 when this stuff was really catching other teams off balance.
00:04:42
So to have another mine here from another organization, the bounce ideas off of a season mine has been in the NFL I, he said.
00:04:51
I think it's 20 years of experience here.
00:04:56
His press. Taylor.
00:04:58
He was here last year out.
00:05:00
Obviously, startling was already the room get coordinated, so to bring in another mind from outside perspective.
00:05:08
And that's gonna help get new ideas within the offense.
00:05:11
And you know the reason why this is key again.
00:05:14
I I can give you an example in the Super Bowl where this happened.
00:05:18
Patrick Mahomes.
00:05:21
I was obviously getting pressured throughout the game.
00:05:24
Four sacks for that San Francisco defense in the 1st 3/4 It was relentless, and the Chiefs had to call a lot of quick three step drops.
00:05:33
A lot of quick stuff because, you know, they had to neutralize the pressure.
00:05:37
But in the fourth quarter, do obviously four states they were playing from behind.
00:05:42
So the big play was the third and 15.
00:05:45
If you remember that play, call there with the way that little semi boot to the right to give Patrick Holmes a little bit more time.
00:05:50
That allows Tyree kill to get downfield and you have the big completion there.
00:05:54
That turns things around in the Super Bowl Chiefs scoring back to back touchdowns and they win the game 31.
00:06:01
So those are the kind of things you can look out for here with which which Rich scan gorilla had drew locked there at the end of this season.
00:06:08
They go for on one down the stretch.
00:06:12
Well, see, that's That's the name I'm excited about.
00:06:15
Well, we'll see about the other things.
00:06:16
I mean, look, this is what the Niners did.
00:06:19
They had a lot of success with it, and then the Rams, they did this in 2018.
00:06:23
I think since then they've actually named an offensive coordinator, but this is kind of ****.
00:06:30
Some teams are utilized.
00:06:32
Um, now, the Eagles were forced to do this because they really couldn't find anybody.
00:06:37
They couldn't find a match.
00:06:39
Couldn't find one confinement.
00:06:41
If if CAFTA would have been somebody that, you know, they would have allowed to call place, Andy Reid would have allowed that interviewed over occur, but s Oh, there you go. Caftans.
00:06:54
The quarterbacks coach of the Chiefs.
00:06:57
Um, so there's there's that I guess some quick thoughts on the I guess I'll make that for another video with the Sixers in the trade deadline.
00:07:07
I'll make that tomorrow.
00:07:08
That's a tease for tomorrow.
00:07:09
They will make the video tomorrow Sunday.
00:07:11
I don't know, but they made a couple of moves double boots.
00:07:16
I don't expect them to do much.
00:07:17
Kind of because of, you know, with all the contracts.
00:07:20
And it wasn't gonna really happen.
00:07:23
Those six years not gonna be wasn't gonna be like last year.
00:07:26
All right, Anyway, uh, close up shop here.
00:07:29
So some of the other moves that that that that the eagles have made, uh, these have happened.
00:07:36
Some of these are recent.
00:07:37
Some of these are also bring in Andrew Breiner.
00:07:39
Ah, as a past game ****yst, he was at Fordham and Fordham head coach for two years.
00:07:47
Wa ce um And then he was at Mississippi State as Passkey and Courtney.
00:07:53
So other other things Aaron Moorehead brought in is the wide receivers coach T J Pat Pat Geneti, assistant run game coordinator.
00:08:02
You have former Dolphins defensive coordinator Matt Burke.
00:08:05
He's gonna be the defensive line coach.
00:08:06
Run came coordinator on the defensive side of the ball.
00:08:09
Mark win manual is gonna be ah, the defensive backs coach.
00:08:14
So he was in Atlanta.
00:08:16
He was under, uh, well, he was with true font.
00:08:19
Doesn't intrude.
00:08:20
Font and Robert offered.
00:08:21
And those two guys were pretty good, So we'll see if he can help out the defensive backs.
00:08:26
Cory, on land, went to Detroit to be with Mak Patricia, so he's their defensive coordinator.
00:08:33
He was here the last couple of years since the defensive backs coach in Philadelphia.
00:08:38
So that's why they had to make a move there.
00:08:40
So those were the other moves here within the Eagles coaching staff.
00:08:45
They decide again to not go without a offensive coordinators.
00:08:51
So it'll be interesting to see.
00:08:53
You know, is this something that they do next year? If press Taylor comes in here and does a good job, and, you know, it's it's hard to have an opinion on this matter because I really don't know how much control he had last year.
00:09:07
Uh, you know what? He was actually what his role was within the offense.
00:09:11
But can he bring new ideas to the table? I mean, we've heard, you know, obviously reports of him being connected with the Phillies special.
00:09:19
Um, but can you bring, you know, new ideas to the table? 32 years old, You know, we'll see what he could do.
00:09:27
Uh, and if he does well, if the Eagles offense kind of sores, and they make the right moves this offseason.
00:09:32
Maybe he gets, you know, brought up toe offense.
00:09:36
According, you know, maybe that's that's the guy that go with next year.
00:09:40
So we'll see about that.
00:09:42
Ah, so there you go that those are my thoughts on the the Eagles.
00:09:46
Your decision to not go with often support.
00:09:48
They're basically kind of kind of backed into a corner a little bit because all the candidates that came and went, they couldn't really find anybody.
00:09:57
So they go with the progressive across approach at the end of the day, and we'll see if this works out for them.
00:10:03
