What is going on? SportsCastr Anthony here from Unwrap Sports appreciate anyone and everyone that joins the stream.
It's been a heck of a day with NBA trade deadline ending at 3 p.
Eastern and a lot of things went down, especially from last night to not to today, a lot of things transpired and ways that we thought with possible but didn't know if they actually would and then on the flip side of that thought, would good through and actually didn't follow through.
So let's break some of it down.
But through all the trace that happened today and I feel like just to keep things and sink just lined up, go off what we talked about last night or anyone who joined this dream last night, uh, just kind of go through that and what what I discussed last night or pick up where we left off is the best way to probably put it.
So let's start with Let's get here quickly.
So let's just start with the honorable dollar to the heat trade.
I know last night before hopping off here, I talked a lot about the potential or possibility of them, but getting Gallo and Andre Iguodala and a three team trade with.
OK, see, And Memphis, you know, Then reports came out this morning that Miami was trying to work out a three year deal.
Justin Gallo along with acquiring him.
But honestly, that just seemed like it wasn't gonna be possible at all.
None of that is transpiring, actually, Gallows still with Okay, See, a lot of it didn't really make sense.
It only made sense from the heat heat perspective, you know, adding a players such as Gallinari to the team.
But that was probably the only thing that actually made sense.
To be honest, the rest of it was just kind of.
How is it gonna work? Where's the money gonna match? And what's enough assets to make this thing a fair trade? So that never transpired.
What actually did transpire was actually something a little bit more apparently transpires, but word of the day, because that's the one that keeps coming out of my mouth.
But the T wolves got in on this trade briefly.
Nothing too exciting.
They sent Gordy.
Uh, I think it's gorgeous.
Guiyang to the Grizzlies. Four.
James Johnson to James Johnson will go to Minnesota, where I don't know if he's gonna play.
He's had just a rough season in general with the Heat and their front office in the team and actually being outside of the rotation.
So it's been a tough year for him.
So maybe a change change of scenery was necessary.
And obviously I think, but he don't wanna pay him anyways.
And so that was pretty much the basis of the three team trade.
Just between just adding T wolves in them, Memphis and Minnesota just making a trade together, making something word.
I'm soon ambassador with money.
I'm not sure if James Johnson the inspiring I think he might be.
But maybe also to that meant this wanted another veteran center to add to the team.
Also, you just gotta fill the team with some body there after they sent out Jae Crowder and Solomon Hill.
Oh, I guess that's another point I'm leaving out here.
Jae Crowder and Solomon Hill are also have it to Miami in that in that deal, So not exactly what we thought we thought of the heat.
We're probably gonna be a really loaded roster.
That's not necessarily the case.
Still, definitely loaded, but just not to the extent that we thought they would be.
I think the deal of the day and the most exciting one that I don't think a lot of people thought would actually go three.
Right now there was a lot of tops about it, but I don't know how we didn't really know.
Like, if this was gonna follow through on nine there, the T Wolves were actually gonna be able to get it done.
The Timberwolves are trading Andrew Wiggins and a first round pick in 2041 a second round pick in 2021.
That first round pick being protected and exchange.
The Warriors are sending D'Angelo Russell to pair up with Karl Anthony towns along with Jacob Evans and Omari Spellman.
Hey, I think this is a win win on all sides.
To be honest, no, you know what? Through that I think there's a win win on all sides.
I think they're both really good fit for each team.
I feel bad that deal.
Oh, just like being tossed around a really good player, but nonetheless gets to play with a friend of his and Karl Anthony towns.
And now the T Wolves not only have their center of the future of the point guard of the future, but also to hear, I think the most important part is that they're keeping Karl Anthony towns happy and not he's not requesting any time to trade.
He's not dissatisfied on thing now that D'Angelo Russell is there.
You want to get a couple young pieces and Amari Spellman.
I'm pretty sure Jacob Evans was a first round pick for the Warriors, I believe two years ago.
So you get a couple of young assets toe play with and then you add a betting James Johnson.
That's just to fill some bis.
Or was that you had 2018 for Trump.
Take Jacob Evans, 28.
There were all picked, and I think I'm artist.
Spellman, too, was a late first rounder for the Hawks back then, before being traded in the off season.
Yeah, pick on that same draft.
So a couple of first rounders from 2018 added to the team as well, along with D'Angelo. Russell.
Uh, so I know the Timberwolves are super excited.
I feel like now they probably feel like they have a chance to compete.
Or at least they have the centerpiece of their team in order to actually build around.
They now have more of an identity.
I think that they had before on the flips out of this.
I just think one.
I'm a little surprised that goes, They didn't want to actually see Steph and de Lo play together.
But I think at the same time, I appreciate that is a great spike.
I feel like it's it's like ground spike, but there's some kind of play ours.
I'm not really understand that.
But I appreciate you taking the stream.
Thanks for the tip, man.
Um, I hope you enjoy the rest of stream, I should say, but I think on the flip side, too, about going back to Gold State and Dangel Russell and Steph Curry playing alongside each other, I think at the end of the day, they thought a year from now, when this was all really gonna matter, like, how's this gonna work with Steph? Client the Low and I don't think that necessarily wanted to wait.
See how that would that would work out rather.
So let's just trying to train a player.
Uh, we're tryingto turn a player and somewhere of similar caliber to D'Angelo. Russell.
I know you've got a huge deal in Andrew Wiggins, but I actually think fit is a lot better.
You got Steph Clay at the two, and then we're going to 3 2021 win.
Ultimately, this this thing really matters.
And not to mention you get a first round pick us.
Well, that is it.
Just I don't know the protection on Jessica.
Oh, but actually, here's the protection to the 20.
Let's see, let's see where to go.
Pig that is protected.
Thinkit's top three Protected.
Yeah, and then becomes unprotected in 2022.
So good workout this year.
It could work out next year.
Ultimately, the Warriors have another asset or peace and play to go get another guy, whether it be young or just on veteran.
That could be it could be a valuable taste from down the road.
So, you know, I think it was a win win on both sides.
I think you know Andrew Wiggins, I think is gonna fit better.
And he's had a really good year this year, and ultimately I could change of scenery wouldn't be the worst thing for him.
So get a good deal on both sides.
I almost I wonder if maybe the Timberwolves could have got more.
But, hey, maybe they see a little bit more in evidence.
And Spellman, then I do.
Obviously, there's a lot of guys just got moved scouting these players and no more of the inside around this player.
So you know, we'll just see how this plays out.
But ultimately, I'm excited to see both sides Type C D low in Minnesota with Karl Anthony Towns and then I'm obviously excited to see Wiggins is well on Golden State.
But I'll be more excited when they got a full team, healthy and ready to go.
So good stuff there by both teams.
Let's see, let's go to the honest traders today, with the Pistons shredding, drumming to the calves for Brandon Knight.
John Henson, 23 23 2nd round pick.
Let's be honest here.
I mean, the whole point of this straight is get drumming off the books. I didn't want him.
Atlanta backed out from him and went with the cheaper, cheaper option and Capella.
And ultimately they're just trying to get him off the big.
So do you trade him, too? The Cavs? I'm confused.
I'm confused on where the cash we're going with this one.
I think maybe they feel like I really don't know what everything I'm thinking.
One, I think that Tristen talk there's gonna be a buyout can I'm assuming he's gonna be a guy that a team that is competing for a championship is gonna ultimately be able to pick up along the way.
I know that Tristan Thompson is pretty happy in Cleveland or likes Cleveland.
But, you know, ultimately, I think you would want to play for a competitors just from the outside looking in.
So maybe the retirement full of drama in there and see how he works out.
I know Drummond's pretty ****ed off like you getting his heart and soul of the droid, and rightfully so.
I think he should be out of out of all the guys that I thought The Pistons, we're just We're just really salad.
And all they did was give it a drumming like, yeah, you got rid of that fat contract and you added on to the Cavaliers.
You have now two enormous barge, ridiculous contracts with drumming and Kevin Love.
But at the same time, like I'm not really sure the understanding behind what Cleveland's trying to do there may be paired him up with a couple of their young guards.
I'm not you positive on this.
If someone can enlighten me of a theory they might have personally, I just don't think it makes too much sense on why they traded why they traded drunk, like, why they traded for drama and I just don't really get it.
And I think I'm Pistons and it's just all about getting rid of money.
They obviously had that contracts with Drum in Blake Griffin.
I think Reggie Jackson inspiring, but he's obviously remaining a lot of money as well.
From his deal so far more money than he should be making so odd deal there.
Probably the weirdest thing today, like and you know, just being at work and seeing some of these you're expecting trades more so, like the deal Oh, the markets Morris, which would get you in a second those type of trades and then when you see drama is moving on to not only not a contender, but a rebuilding team and for not much at all, just very, very, very confusing.
And another guy, I feel like I was being bounced around a lot.
For worst reason.
This plane tonight just keeps going from Worst team.
The worst team you know.
Another Pistons are technically better standing wise, but at this point that with Blake Griffin out 100 Drummond I think they're just I think they're worth team than the Caps.
I will say that.
So, uh, poor Brandon, I should say.
And from what? Mistaken isn't no.
Maybe that's that's a whole different story.
The next one here listed, I think, is a pretty big and powerful deal as well was Markets more is being dealt the Clippers.
This one's pretty interesting, right, because we know the two teams that were fighting for markets.
Morris's service is where the two l A teams.
Obviously, this is a rental play, and Marcus Morris got belted the Clippers In exchange thing.
This is a three way trade, so the Clippers got markets.
Morrison, Isiah Thomas, Wizard's got Jerome Robinson, who's a Clippers first round pick 10 year Shay was selected, and the next got Mo Mo Harkless and the 2021 or 20 21st round pick from the Clippers, which is essentially like probably a second round pick for school.
So let's start with the Clippers here.
I think obviously the bigs impact was made from L.
Not only because they got the player they wanted, but also because they got a player and were able to keep him away from a team that they're competing against the Lakers.
I thought it was interesting because the next really wanted shame it.
The Clippers just told them, Know what else I had on the flips? Uh, but they were willing to deal with them.
And I wonder if that's because the first round pick on the flip side of things like the Knicks weren't doing a trade for Marcus Morris unless Cues was involved and that was gonna be for a rental place.
So I don't know if there's any type of spite there.
I don't know if the first round pick really made that much of a big of a deal.
You know, it's at the end of the day.
You never know what where it will land.
But, you know, the way the Clippers were set up right now in the way it's looking like, is that there's gonna be a late late pick.
And honestly, I think that the waves were kind of screwed.
It looks like they're trying to work out J.
Smith now, So set again markets more so that they're gonna get J.
But the Clippers are super stacked right now and made a huge addition to their team.
And I just This team is changing.
Is playoff ready? Let's see if they can actually make a run for the championship.
They also got Isiah Thomas in that in that trade fromthe wizards.
It looks like they're not gonna keep him. He's actually gonna be dropped.
So that stuff for i t.
He was making his comeback there in Washington.
I don't know, actually, how you employment.
I thought he'd been playing pretty well, but I could be wrong.
Let's just, uh a I think I went outside.
Kind of sucked for Thomas, but again, I hope that like a team that's competing that needs a backup point guard of any kind will go out and get Isiah Thomas.
I thought it was for him.
Well, I already got three best.
What's you see? What they say, Okay, The same.
What he's averaging.
No, it doesn't say what he's averaging, but they think three best.
It's run by the Warriors of Signs.
I love the Celtics, thick.
I definitely think that would be a great spot for him.
I just think they have so many guards there with the Celtics even looking at that.
I know they have a lot of young large behind Kimble Walker, but they even let them know that. I don't know.
I think it sucks for Artie.
I hope you find the spot and gets to continue playing out the season for sure, because I thought finally able to make this way back from injury.
And now he's just gonna get dropped after looking like you may just go to the Clippers team that you probably wouldn't mind having another guard back there just at some point.
But maybe Isiah Thomas didn't want to sit at the end of the ***** bench and I get a lot of minutes, so understand his view There the Wizards get a young guard and Jerome Robinson, who honestly just has not panned out.
I think he was a huge surprise when l.
A took him originally, and I think it's no surprise that they were willing to dump him for industry.
To be honest, uh, Drum Robinson.
They tried to get the minutes.
He's improved, definitely.
But, like, was he ever going to be a player on the caliber of somebody somebody like Marcus Morris are ever gonna develop into the player that was really gonna impact the game as much as you wanted him to as a lottery pick? I don't know.
I think that's why they're willing, willing to give him up.
And I think it's a good situation for both teams.
Maybe now Durham Robinson will get more opportunity and more of a chance to show his words more.
So I've been on a team that's trying to win Now, you know, you don't have to feel so much pressure on you going to the every game knowing that Oh, hey, this could be my last chance to really make an impact or I might not get to play at all, so I don't know.
We'll see how that one pains out.
And then the next poor Mo Harkless goes from Portland, gets traded toe clippers.
And now he's with the Knicks, who essentially are known for her destroying careers.
So suck from a heartless hope.
He's about Canada as well, and gets to join another team and then the next get the 20 21st.
I mean, honestly, I I mean, I guess you got a first for an expiring, but like, how much is it really worth? I guess we'll see.
So oh, I'll pretty average trade.
I think that the most part, the Clippers really did something big here and the other two teams involved.
It's like a couple shots and we'll see what we get from it Next.
I got a couple smaller trade in here.
Let's make sure that we should bigger ones.
See, I guess this the next biggest one would be is not really the next biggest one.
Much of small trades here for the most far.
We'll go through them real quickly, but let's go do the one thing that is probably most impactful out of all these Philadelphia Just getting a couple points.
Players off come off their bench from the Warriors.
They get out birds, and they get Glenn Robinson the third in exchange for three second round picks.
I think it's good for the the six years I know in the past.
They've done this to go on, get some guys that can contribute off the bench.
Think they're already a pretty good team, obviously fillies out a really great season so far.
But now they've acquired more depth, and I think they're gonna be a really good team going in the playoffs.
I think they have a lot of.
They had a lot of depth already, and now they have even more debt.
So I was just gonna make them.
But it's gonna just solidify them throughout the season.
And ultimately, if they need to rest down the stretch or the load manage, they'll be able to do so now.
Adding a few more bodies on the team that can compete night in night, out out.
Burke's is obviously a great score off the bench.
Clint Robinson, the third, has become a great three indie guy and obviously he can rock the rim very well.
We've seen in prior dunk contest, so Ah, good.
Get for the Sixers.
Let's go through the quick Clint or quick ones.
Let's code through the knives impactful trades for some of these other teams.
I kind of like this trade.
This is kind of Ah, Loki. Trade by kind.
Like this one believe its trade.
Jordan, McRae to the Nuggets for Shabbas and a period another value continues to be passed around was just traded over from the Timberwolves to Denver and that 14 trade that involved Compel and Robert coming Covington.
Now Napier is going to go play with the Wizards.
I guess that I guess that's because they just covered Isiah Thomas and then fill that role again.
I like it for Napier.
Hope he gets more calm, but I think on the flip side of this, I think I hope the Nuggets I don't know what their plan is with Jordan McCray, but I really like Jordan McRae.
Uh, I think he's been pretty underwriting.
That was really good at Tennessee.
I think he's been pretty underwriting throughout the league.
Now I know obviously has his weaknesses and the game.
But I think he's, Ah really effective score, someone who can score a different levels for you, and I think he's gonna be a solid piece off that bench to add to it.
I know they just got rid of Millie Beasley and not necessarily saying that.
You know, I honestly think McRae could probably be the same type of player that you want from Molly Beasley.
Just a little bit older.
I think he's got a lot more experience.
UH, then mill Millie Beasley.
So I personally like like it for not only the Nuggets, but also, like for Jordan McRae just getting an opportunity to contribute big time for a team that's gonna be contending in the Western Conference.
So, like that underrated trade, they're the fixtures cut James in its 1st 2nd round pick.
That one was a little random, but obviously the Sixers have a couple guys coming in.
So I guess there's just no more room for James and this rotation.
And now the magic get another body.
They've already lost the meaning.
They lost Jonathan Isaac.
Those were obviously two key pieces to their team.
I know this is not probably a win now team, But I think you add James Ennis, continue to try to push for the playoffs.
And ultimately, you're just trying to get experience for a guy like Marquel fault, who is the future of your team, and your hope is finding a lot of playoff games to get him some experience.
There doesn't have a ton of it because obviously, has.
I've been playing due to injury.
And so if you feel like James Ennis can help you get over that hump released, get into the playoffs and other City in the 18th right now and not a lot of things behind them are looking too good, and they have an easy schedule down the stretch.
You feel like you get in the playoffs, do so and make sure that Mark hopefuls get some time with playoff experience, understands the environment a little bit more and get it's all about repetition being in that situation.
So that was kind of my take away from that one.
The Hot Scott Scallop Busy air from the blazer so the hawks get hurt.
Third, big man from trade over the past few days.
Um, you got Dwayne, Dwayne Dedmon to come back, and now they get Labissiere, who's, I think, some games from with poor when I thought he looked pretty good.
I think he's been out since December 28 with the left knee injury, which has kind of been the issue with them for the most part.
It's just, well, a busy year for cash.
I guess you're just adding another young big, see what he has to offer, you know, see if he can contribute to the team, uh, in some fashion.
But I think on the flip side of that, I think it tells me that, um, Excuse me.
The Blazers are trying to prepare for use of Americans to come back potentially after the All Star break.
So they're obviously we're gonna have to clear some space for him.
Maybe Livesey Year for cash was a way for them to do it.
Maybe getting a little bit more money helps in the bio market for him. We'll see.
But I think from my understanding is that useful markets could be coming back here pretty soon.
And this trade kind of is reflective of that. Mike.
Having a little tickle my throat.
This is hard to get through.
The Rockets got Brennan Kobach alot from the Grizzlies, who's been like the Brazilian prodigy.
It seems like three years supposed to developing developed will be definitely got better with Memphis, But this one's intriguing.
I traded him or actually, they swapped him for Jordan Bell.
Who they got in that 14 traders.
Well, Memphis, uh, it was like he was improving a lot last year.
I haven't seen him play too much this year, so we'll see what kind of impact Bruno Kibalko has on the Rocket.
I want to say that he was originally picked up as undrafted free agent from the Rocket, so it's like we're just acquired guys that we got from undrafted free of your market from years prior. But we'll see.
Uh, he's only 68 So again, not really Tall guy.
But then again, I think Jordan Jordan Bell's about 68 as well.
Again, we're just adding a little bit of length there.
We'll see if you two makes an impact.
They also traded second round picks in 2023.
If anyone cares about that, the Hawks picked up Derek Long junior from the L A Clippers.
He I mean, this one's you know, I think at this point, Atlanta's just tryingto continue.
Just add to their roster any young piece they can get and see what's gonna work.
And he's gonna be a part of the future.
So they're falling.
He's appearing like 23 games this year under have to play out of Michigan, where he was really good.
So this one is just for cash.
Nothing too big.
Atlanta's just testing everything they can at this point.
Uh, I believe that it's a bit Yeah, I think that is it So cool.
That's how the trade deadline.
Overall, I was very pleased because I thought there was gonna be much action, and I don't know why I was so of something like that.
To think that there wasn't gonna be a lot of transactions around this time of year's is to trade deadline.
People are gonna get anti people just waitinto leverage the right move at the right time and the right player for the right amount of money or assets.
So it's all about leverage here, and I think at the end of the day when there's a deadline, leverage can really come into play and people are gonna start start to make moves.
Not a desperation, but just I don't need a need that they think they need tohave in order to win the championship or move the moving the right right direction.
That's best for the franchise owner.
Their organizations, uh, was overall pretty pleased.
Happiness fee, I think.
My favorite meals of the day.
I think I mentioned him.
But the low to minister and you're waiting to Golden State and I really like to McRae one.
I want to see how that one plays out.
That's my under Made it move of the deadline.
I don't think I miss anything, But then again, there weren't was there was a lot of action.
Okay, I think I want to touch on quick.
What? Okay, here we go.
I think touch on Hero Cliff is the All Star draft.
Results were down tonight.
LeBron and the honest picked their teams.
This one started by saying, Youngest man don't appreciate you agreeing with Chuck and saying, You don't want to pick my boy hard because he's just a dribbler.
Does passed ball and that he passed the ball okay that she was the style of officer playing.
He's up there in the top 10 of assists per game this year, so don't want to hear that.
You passed the ball first of all, but I completely understand where he's coming from there.
But it was kind of weird.
The 1st 10 are the first place that her picture, obviously the other starters and, well, Bram picked everyone from the West and the honest picked everyone from the East.
It was between Harden, Kimba and Trey as the last three picks, and he picked Kimba over James Heart.
I feel like that's pretty absurd, but nonetheless into effect.
So Ross team to staff.
He had a Damian Lillard, Ben Simmons, no polio Kage, Jason Tatum, Chris Paul Russell Westbrook and Dimanche is the bonus.
Obviously got Paul and Westbrook.
You were his boys and then Dame and Russell Westbrook on the same team.
That should be pretty interesting.
Let's see it there.
You're out there playing together.
He picked the five East orders and beads.
Malcolm Walker and Trey Young, then picked his Buffs teammate.
Running mate Chris Milton is his first think, then went, **** Rudy go there.
Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, Brandon Ingram and Donovan Mitchell.
So, initial thoughts.
I honestly think the West is gonna r I should say Team Abroad is gonna run away with this one, but I could definitely be wrong.
I definitely like somebody.
Honest is moves and taking some of those 1st 1st time All Stars and seeing how they play in the All Star game again.
A super cool to see guys like Donald Mitchell on Brandon Ingram and the All Star Game.
All sorts really good Bear definitely deserving a band the jump piece made, so that should be a fun team to watch.
On the flip side.
Just got star after Star Star.
I mean, these air.
That's a loaded team.
Team LeBron so inside and see how that goes forward.
Obviously, a three point contest changes well, taking a little taking a page out of the big three foot, they're gonna be adding a couple shots.
We're closer to the logo behind that, the perimeter and the three point contest that there's not 27 shots of thinking 70 seconds, and I don't know this specifics around it, but I know that I believe they could just like two more extra shot.
They go through the whole perimeter.
Then they take two shot from close to the letter.
So should be fun. It should be exciting.
And just another week, another way, another week, another way that the Big Three has pioneered a new type of rule or out of the new twist of their game, and that the MBA or the Geely has implemented that are only so pretty cool to see that, then lean in the leg and, yeah, thing that's hit.
It's Sears over.
It's time to get after it's time for these teams to make their runs.
A lot of time left, so should be inciting rest of the season.
And, yeah, I believe that's it, I said everything I need to say.
I appreciate it when he joined this dream.
