Um, yesterday morning or yesterday afternoon.
Um, Raph, I own a doll teary eyed after the match Hello? This morning that he had.
And it's just really sad to see Thank you, Mohammed, for joining the broadcast.
I appreciate it.
Um, Well, yeah, You know, that shows you what type of inspiration.
Kobe Bryant was even way and ah, halfway across the globe, I should say, in Australia, they're, um they're honoring him.
So, you know, it's ah, it's very sad news.
The fact that his daughter was was in there too, and died.
Um, it's just shocking and devastating, but focusing back on the tennis push, Cova.
A bit of a jalape.
They're all still in it.
On the women's side, the woman's racket, I think, is really wide open right now.
Ah, very intriguing, too.
And say for them inside.
We've had some great matches on the men's side.
Rafael Nadal giving it everything he had this morning in the early hours here in the East Coast to beat Nick curios cario Soon, you know gave it everything he had in front of the home crowd.
Ultimately couldn't pull off the victory.
Have a tennis Sandra in the American.
I'm pulling for him, possibly for an upset, and he'll be taken on Roger Federer, which will be no easy task at all.
I definitely have Federer winning that one, but you know, who knows? This is the beauty of these major tournaments where you know you have.
You have, ah, you know, upsets, fairy tale runs.
That's what I love about these tournaments.
And Novak Djokovic still lives a joke, invention and all. Federer.
Three of the eight men remaining.
It's the 2020 Australian Open quarterfinals right here on sports cast of the quarter finals getting underway tonight, let's say go get Look at the woman's draw.
The winner of Ashleigh Barty and Petra Kvitova will take on Sophia Kenan and that cultivate taking on Simona Halep tomorrow and also taking place tomorrow is my guru, tha against Padley at Shank Ova.
So a lot of action to look forward to the uh second quarterfinal match on the woman's side of the bracket getting under way just in a few minutes, I'll get you out to that match.
It would be a good one between body and kid.
Bit of a first rank and seventh ranked in the world of you know, Barty, play in front of her Ah, flame in front of her fans in her home country, and she has not disappointed for sure, with a lot of pressure on her back.
So Day nine in Melbourne quarterfinal action beginning today, we're getting to the ladder ladder stages of the tournament, and it just gets more and more exciting.
We started with a field of 256.
Now we're down to 16 when you combine the, uh, woman and men, Um, is so yeah, we're we're getting down to the wire in Australia at the year's first major tournament to get things underway.
We also have the Olympics this year, Remember? Um, I'll probably be commentating some Olympic tennis, so yeah, it's it'll be a fun year in tennis.
And over at Rod Laver Arena, Ashleigh Barty and Petra commit about taking the court.
We're ready for the opening serve of this one in Match two of four on this Wednesday or rather Tuesday afternoon in Australia, which will turn into prime time for Djokovic's match later on, So the two men's quarterfinals will wrap up the day.
This is the second woman's quarterfinal, Ashleigh Barty serving to get it under way.
And here we go and the forehand return from Casanova is long and Bharti gets the first point of the match.
There should be a good one.
I don't think it will come at easy, Adal for Barney, but I do think she'll pull out the victory and that backhand shot, isn't it? The bass line from Barty, Kevin of all on the forehand body stays on the backhand and now committed goes cross court.
But that one hits the net.
30 Love party in the lead.
Thanks, Avery, for joining the broadcast.
Glad to have you here on this Monday night.
Hope you're doing good, man.
Get into the latter stages here in the Australian Open.
The second woman's quarterfinal match of the day and Bharti delivers with an ace right down the middle.
I went off on the line, and that was at 1 72 kilometers an hour.
Not sure what that translates to miles per hour.
I think it's around 1 10 I could be wrong.
And that's Ah, fault on the first serve from party.
What's going on, Avery? I hope you're off to a good start to your week.
And that shot just barely getting over that by Barney committed a closing in in an easy forehand shot to finish it off for her first point of the match.
40 15 as convince Ava stays alive in the first game of this one.
Yeah, I know, man.
Yeah, absolutely. Yup.
Rest in peace. Kobe Bryant.
He was a true legend and father for sure.
Yeah, it's It's extremely sad.
I couldn't I didn't even believe the news.
When I first saw it, I was just in shock.
Yeah, it's crazy.
All right, so we got a rally going here.
Barney on the one handed backhand shot behind the baseline.
Can't generate enough power as that one hits the net 40 30 convertible.
Just like that back in the game.
You know, as a Celtics fan, like, I never I didn't like Kobe Bryant at all.
I'll be honest with you.
Um, but like, I had a ton of respects for him, Uh and, uh, yeah, he was used a great player.
Um and you know a great person. Yeah.
I mean, you know, he Even though he was, he retired.
He still had, you know, a lot more goals in mind.
And, uh, you know, it's it's sad to see It's sad to see that shot will go on from Barty.
Convertible is closing in on the net.
Barty tried toe law to Ah, excuse me.
Lawn loft, That one.
I can't talk tonight.
Loft that one over her head and get it in play, but a little too much on it.
And we're just like that in a deuce.
So three straight points from Cabin of a puts her right back in contention to win the game.
And how about the backhand? Return cross court from Covina.
Advantage to her.
And just like that, she has a break point.
That's a beautiful return.
What channel's this? Ah, channels is on.
Ah, yeah, It's, um it's ESPN news.
ESPN news s 05 72 for you.
So the first service a false second servant play.
Yeah, no problem, Avery and this shot from Bharti is gonna be off the baseline convertible with a lot of time to wind up forehand shot and play.
Both players rallying and from the baseline, but committed a Mrs the forehand shot. And we're back.
Induce number two.
Thank you, Grant, for joining the broadcast.
I appreciate it. Yeah.
Avery, What happened was so there were the college basketball is supposed to be on ESPN and the Australian Opal was supposed to be on ESPN two, but they put ah, Kobe Bryants last game of his career on ESPN.
They're doing a re air of that.
And ah, so they moved the college basketball ESPN two and therefore move the Australian Open.
The ESPN News, But yeah, the Australian Open will go over to ESPN two at 11 o'clock.
But yeah, that's why I got moved.
I didn't notice that till 30 minutes before.
So a good thing I realized that. Advantage.
Game point for her.
A powerful serve and preventive.
Unable to return one nothing.
Barney takes the lead in the first set and in the 2019 Australian Open, these two actually met and it was a very competitive match.
But Kevin Ava just got the best of her.
Competitive second studies women.
So in the end of a 6164 bit of ah, comfortably taking that first set second set party gave her a run for her money but in the end, covet of a coming up victorious.
And then these two met in Miami and convertible, just dealing with injury.
But she fought through but ultimately fell 763664 The final.
So the head to head convertible leads 4 to 3.
Oh, no at major.
That last meeting was the 2019 W t A Finals are our Barty winning that 16462 So these two have met before? Plenty of times, and they've had competitive match ups.
The forehand return on the serve from Barty hits the net.
Love committed a serving here for the first time tonight.
Thanks for the follow Grant.
I appreciate that.
Yeah, I know for sure.
Yeah, that was right to put Kobe's last game on ESPN. Yeah.
I think it's cool how they're doing that.
I think it's cool.
Other doing that. Yeah.
So committed a powerful backhand on the line and Bharti tries to go on the forehand, but the shot goes just wide 30 Love, Kevin Ova in control here down one to nothing in the first set, but up 30 love in this game.
What's going on, Vaughn? Glad to have you here, man.
Hope you're having a good Monday evening where you are.
And, uh, it's Ah, strolling open quarterfinal action, Bardi and convert of a just underway down Under and that service gonna be wide from competitive.
A second serve coming up.
Well, I watch the Kobe Bryant funeral.
Um I mean, maybe I won isn't I mean yeah, they're definitely gonna televise that.
I think you I mean, if I'm not busy.
I don't know when it when it is, though, but yeah, that was That was really sad news.
Um, yeah, I was I'll think anyone can really believe it, but it's crazy.
Yeah, it's that I am.
So now it's 40 love covet of a game point for her.
She can tie things up in the first set here at one.
All were just underway.
Seven minutes into the match.
Bharti's return will be taken out of the air by coveted by and she finishes that one off with a beautiful forehand shot and the J nine schedule Looks like this.
Quarterfinal coverage continuing at 11 p.m. Eastern time.
JJ will take on Novak Djokovic tomorrow in the early morning hours at 3 a.m.
And then for those of you who won't be up for that like myself, ESPN you will be showing an encore presentation tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m.
Um, if you'd be interested in Ah, rewatching what occurs while we're sleeping, Bardi serving one all here? Yep.
The Australian Open is on ESPN news right now.
Correct. Von Yeah.
I was telling Avery they put, um, Kobe Bryant's last game of his career.
Ah, a re air of it on ESPN, which I think is really cool.
Um And, uh so therefore, they moved the college basketball game.
That should have been on ESPN two ESPN two Australian Open.
What? Should have been on ESPN two got moved ESPN news, but, uh, Australian open coverage will go over to ESPN two at 11. Eastern.
So eight Pacific for you, Vaughn.
What a drop shot there by Petra Kvitova.
I mean, That was a remarkable shot.
Barney tried to get there, but just couldn't before that ball took two bounces.
And it's just like that.
Yeah, yeah, that's cool about it.
Definitely re, I agree.
Committed a closing in and she has all the time in the world here.
But I won't have to worry about it, because Bharti's return couldn't quite make it over the net.
So love 43 break points here for cavity Ava, as she has really taken over since losing the first game.
Oh, in the forehand cross court returned from Covina is just unbelievable.
One is shot right on the sideline and commit about looking good up to the one in the first set, and she breaks.
She'll be serving next with a chance to go up by two.
That's a huge break there for Petra Kvitova in the early stages of this one first set in semi far rather, quarterfinal number two, with the semifinal spot on the line on the woman's side of the bracket.
More live action from the Australian Open coming your way in a moment.
Don't go anywhere, all right, welcome back.
So committed a serving and she's up 2 to 1 after a huge break in the last game.
And thank you for Ah, joining the broadcast. Joe.
I appreciate him in.
And that's a double fault from Covina, Va.
Thanks so much for being a part of the broadcast sunny afternoon in Australia.
The time in Melbourne 1:17 p.m.
On Tuesday afternoon.
All right, this serve in play by convincing, but she tricks Bharti going the other way.
But the shot goes wide.
She had the right idea.
The execution, though not quite there.
And if Barney breaks here, she is right back in control.
You can't figure out what to watch.
I know, right? Avery, there's Yeah, Yeah, there's so much with Kobe's re air and then the Australian Open.
Yeah, it's crazy, I think Robbie on SportsCastrs commentating, um that, uh, what ESPN is showing Kobe's last n b a game, which is pretty cool.
10 of the i n rockets Jazz is right.
So now it's love 43 break points here.
Yeah, I think the lightning and starts were playing on nbcsn too.
And then Super Bowl Opening night is on F s one.
Ah, all right, So that's a fall on the first serve.
Covet a va tryingto work her way back into this game and the backhand return from Barty and play powerful shot by convertible.
But she misses that one.
Hits the net, and we're all knotted up at two apiece.
Soak a bit of a breaks in the previous game, but she's unable to take advantage when serving.
So Barney bites right back with a break of her own.
And it's to all and Ashleigh Barty now serving back in control of the opening set here.
What you like to do is change the channel every five minutes.
Yeah, that's a good strategy, usually, what I do want.
Unlike there's two things I really two games, I really like to watch.
I usually, like do that.
Commercials or stuff.
Uh, that return is long, so 15 love party with basically the whole crowd cheering her on as she is from Australia.
And that's a let's service.
They won't they won't leave you alone. Von.
That's too bad, man.
Yeah, sorry to hear them, and that's another Let's go to let's in the road there from Ash Barty she'll try again here.
That one is a beautiful serve.
How about an ace committed by not even getting near that one? That's party second ace of the match.
177 kilometers an hour.
Was that one with absolute power? 30 Love, the servant play for in return is in already going cross court, committed to the bag can and unable to execute as that one was off the net.
Love, Bardi in cruise control.
Now tennis Really a game of momentum swings, and that's turning out to be the case here.
First serve, often it from body.
She'll try again.
Owner Try to avoid the double fault.
The forehand return down the line from Casanova is long and Bharti cruises to retake the lead 3 to 2.
She's up committed a serving after this to try to tie it back up where, 14 minutes into the second quarter final match over the night here on SportsCastr.
More action from the Australian Open.
Coming your way in a moment.
All right, welcome back.
The fans in attendance got to stay hydrated.
It's nice, but it's also warm down under the summer South of the equator manned.
It's three to body leading in the first set.
Covet of Ah Nast, serving as both players switch ends as they do every two games.
First serve right down the middle on Barty on the baseline.
Commit of a closing in and she missed time.
I don't know if she was tryingto make contact with it, but after it bounced but she ended up.
She ended up hitting that one before it took about, therefore hitting the net. Love 15.
And party was well back beyond the baseline convertible and control the point, but unable to execute the service.
Bharti's return right on the baseline party's gonna close in cross court forehand and it goes just a tear wide That was Ah, good effort by Ashleigh Barty.
But it's 15 all.
Yeah, they don't leave you alone.
You gotta talk to your gym teacher for a Sherman.
Yeah, Yeah, You definitely got to do that if they keep bugging you because, um, must be must be getting annoying on urine for sure.
I can only imagine, you know All right.
Here comes the second, sir, from Petra Kvitova.
They say it was a let okay, I didn't see the contact with the net party.
A little frustrated, too.
We're getting another try here.
I like to see that again, but we play on anyways.
Yeah, that's a lot service.
There's still 15.
All here Thanks, guys, for joining me.
Australian Open quarterfinal action.
And that serve is long from Petra in the second service as well.
So at last it's a double fault.
Covet a va shaking it off.
That's her third double fault of the match, and yes, she's had a break.
But she still finds herself down 3 to 2, unable to really take advantage of her serving game, which is one of her weaknesses.
Would you know, you gotta be good that you have to be good at in order to be a player like Ash.
Barty, who is ranked number one in the world, currently so committed a serving from the left side.
That's in play the forehand return off the net, and it's now 30 all and convertible with a little fist pump afterwards, finally, what she was indeed looking for.
So all tied up now in the game rally taking place here committed but to the backhand and way too much power on that one.
As Barney let that one fly by beyond the baseline, it went 30 40 and another break point here for body.
If she wins this game, then she could really take off with the set.
Considering that she's serving next, This is a pivotal, pivotal game here.
Pivotal point here for committed to try to force a deuce.
And she knows just that bit of a responds with an ace in unique fashion there, and we are now at 40 all introduce so Kevin of not going away here in this game, despite some miscues in the serving game.
She makes up for it there with an ace party to the four hands primitive of those cross court.
And Bharti can't get it over the net trying to go down the line on the forehand but unable to do so.
Advantage to convince Ava this game already lasting four minutes here as it's going the distance.
But game point year for committed because she can tie things up in the first set? No, can she does just that.
She delivers an ace right on the line down the center of the court, and it's tied up at 33 in the first set.
A reminder Super Tuesday, coming up double entering college basketball at both seven and nine PM Eastern signed Pittsburgh taking on Duke in the later game.
Florida State in action before them.
So some good college basketball action tomorrow focusing back on the Australian Open, guarding now serving.
And we're in the middle of the first set, all tied up.
It's been even 1st 20 minutes of the match body on her knee there, with the vacuum committed veneer the baseline and that shot is out from Barty.
Too much on it, just a hair past the baseline.
And it's love. 15.
Well, that was a huge game for committed but a win a minute ago that was enormous.
First serve off the net from Barty and now the second serve coming up that is, in play, committed, stretching out to the back and return.
She executes, and now the forehand shot is perfect placement right in the corner, giving Barty no chance at all.
And it's love 30.
They had a weird camera angle on TV.
Here's a better view.
She was at the center of the court behind the baseline and right in the corner, on the baseline.
And that we're speed coming at 140 kilometers an hour.
Not just the placement was perfect, but also the speed giving Barney just actually no chance in the backhand return from covet of a cross court is just an extraordinary shot.
I mean, I don't know how to explain this.
Well, this is better than the then the shot I was talking about before.
Getting that ball just barely over the net, but not too much over that giving body time to get over there.
It's now love 40 but the return goes along 15 42 break points here for convertible.
I know Von Yeah, absolutely.
Some big time sporting events coming up in the next few months. Indeed.
I'm looking forward to a man I love sports.
Sports is pretty much my life, man.
So yep, it's It's a lot to look forward to.
How about that backhand shot from committee of A? But it did go along.
Looked like she might have thought she had it go.
Not quite. So now, 30 40.
Just one for four on break points. One tonight.
She has another break point opportunity here.
Third of the game.
Can Barney four seduce? Yes, she can beforehand.
Cross court return goes wide, and we're all squared up at 40 all.
So Barney's first sir Placement.
Well, you know, to the left side, to the far left, she's gone 57% to the near side.
On the right, 43% of all over aces have come to the right side, down the middle of ah, of that service box.
And now it's Advantage Party has committed is unable to return that serve.
Oh, yeah, for sure, man.
March Madness is always great.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to commentating March Madness.
That's gonna be fun, man.
Yeah, no doubt. No doubt.
That's gonna be awesome.
So a fault. On the first served from Barty.
Second serve, coming up in a powerful vore In return, Bharti is there but committed a closing in and she finishes it off already trying to go over the head of Petra.
But convertible wasn't fooled as she delivered nicely on the overhead backhand shot for the easy point in the end, and it's just a guessing game for body at that point of which direction to head in.
It's been a competitive first set here, and this first sir will be off the net and long for the first fault.
Second service employees in the four in return is nicely dealt with by Barney.
Covina gets there, but the shot goes wide.
It's advantage to ash party.
Wow, this game has now been going on for four minutes, just like the last one.
Two consecutive games going to juices and these players really up competing point for point in the early stages, that one goes wide off the net.
Party has been going to that second serve quite often, which, hey, there's nothing wrong with it as long as she's not having trouble on the second serve when she hasn't been nice shot there and body unable to return a bit of a pending her in the corner.
And it's deuce. Number three.
We're all square once again.
Look at that Margaret Court in attendance for this one.
Not this arena that they're playing at Rod Laver Arena, but the other one here at the Australian Open Margaret Court Arena, named after her powerful shot there by Barney coveted his return goes long.
She didn't really have any control over that with the velocity Barney had on her shot.
An advantage goes to party here.
Can she finally close out the game or rule? Will we be heading to yet another deuce? Here's the serve in the return from committed.
Are right on the baseline backing Barty up the one handed slice goes long And guess what? Deuce Number four coming up.
Wow! The way this Ah, this is playing out.
This game is never gonna end here.
Both players trading points 27 minutes into the match, 33 in the opening set and is a let's service from Barty.
And you know, the thing about the day session is that with the sun beaming down the heat, no doubt a factor.
That's why the night session is what I'd prefer anyways.
As a player, it's definitely a lot better with the sun down.
And, um, you know, it does cool down a good amount at night, but still comfortable conditions.
No doubt about that.
This is high in the air from Barty committed a lot of time to wind up on the forehand party, able to deal with it.
She goes down the line and a forehand.
Sean is perfectly executed by Ashleigh Barty, and she has advantage once again.
This game now lasting six and 1/2 minutes and counting.
And I mean, that's just unbelievable shot down the line that we're speed coming at 86 miles an hour.
We finally got a reading in miles an hour rather than kilometers.
So the first serve off the net from Barty.
Second serve put in play.
Game point yet again.
Cabin of a, though with a dagger of a forehand shot.
She was in the center of the court, goes to the right baseline and puts it right on the line.
Pinpoint accuracy on the shot in a studio number five committed But just not going away in this game.
Truly extraordinary embodies first service long.
She'll try again here.
That one's in play, but the cross court forehand shot by Covina is just unbelievable advantage to her now.
Break point number four.
So finally convertible has advantage in the deuce.
Can she take advantage, not return to me that 78 miles an hour and Barney and me to have a chance to move for a serve off the net party goes that second serve often and the backhand return his wide from Covina and it's deuce.
Number 68 minutes.
Now is the duration of this game.
Wow, It's going the distance, folks.
You think that's safe to say first, serve off the net from body.
Here comes that second serve again.
She has had no problem with.
That's a double fault.
It's the commentators jinx.
Is that what they say? Advantage.
Commit of a break point number five.
So committed us so far, too, for five on second sir points.
Barney. Meanwhile, five for 15.
The servant play powerful forehand shot will be on the line from Kevin Ova Party goes cross court.
That's as a reach of Kevin Ava.
And we go to another juice number seven in this game.
Wow! Two's number seven.
Absolutely extraordinary here.
And the forehand return from cabin of a soft the net.
Party with advantage.
Yeah, you're absolutely right.
Von Ivanova is not giving up.
This is quite extraordinary.
This is a heck of a game.
Yeah, I'm definitely with you.
It was giving it everything she's got here.
The backhand return, though, hits the net.
And the never lasting game finally does come to an end.
Nine minutes, 53 seconds is how long that game took party in the end.
Wins the game 4 to 3 in the first set.
Commit of Ah, serving after this.
More action coming your way from the Australian Open in the moment.
All right, welcome back.
So the Australian Open Day Nine schedule Well, quarterfinal action.
We'll continue at 11 p.m. Eastern time.
You'll surrounded taking on Novak Djokovic prime time out in Australia at 3 a.
m. Eastern time.
And so a lot to look forward to and through the night here on the East Coast or in the U.
In general, 4 to 3 body leads in the opening set.
It's been a good one.
It was his first service along in that last game was just a great effort from both players and Kevin of unable to execute that backhand shot Love 15.
That's one that you gotta have that is one that you gotta have right there.
If you're committed off, especially serving in this game, you can't let Barney win this game or else things aren't looking good here in the first set for her, he's got to keep it close for service lawn.
The shot of signing down on shining down.
Excuse me on just about the whole court.
A few think back in the baseline, but definitely not a factor here.
For the most part, that's a let's service convertible will try again.
Here that isn't quite convertible.
Goes with the slice and executes party does the same in return, Party to the forehand committed a cross court backhand.
Barty goes back the other way, but it's wide.
15. All coming of us.
Seem to have that one covered.
Even if it did go in play and we're back tied up at 15 off for a serve off the net from Petra Kvitova.
Here comes the second serve.
Both these players were having trouble on their first serve, and the second service gonna be a let seems a bit frustrated, too.
All right, that one's in play.
Perfect return there from party just barely over that both players on the forehand at the baseline now, Barney to the backhand, going with the slice, committed a steak with the forehand.
Waiting for each one to make a move and commit of us would be the backhand.
And that proves to be costly as she can't quite get it over the net.
Yeah, committed was making you know some unforced errors that are definitely frustrating her.
She hasn't really gotten to any rhythm in her game so far in the service.
Social, the further the second serve once again here, committed a down 15 30 in the game.
Cross court backhand return committed a down the line that's in play.
Bharti, though, gets to it.
She's moving back and forth along the baseline, and now the back head shot is called wide.
Is Barney gonna challenge it? No, she's not 30 all.
It looked awfully close.
Let's see, on the replay, I thought it was in at first who that might have been in.
I think that's worth the challenge of your body, but I don't know if she's gonna.
It looked close. It looked close.
I think it's worth the challenge.
But what? He's going to keep that challenge in her pocket.
30 up all want to return right over the net.
Committed by now closing into the net overhead shot.
Barty can't quite return Good effort, but on the forehand shot Couldn't quite execute in its 40 30 game point for convertible with a chance to tie things back up.
This game so far lasting four minutes.
I don't know if anything will be the last one that went Oh, nearly 10 minutes 9 53 It's gonna be hard to be is this match progresses? But you never know.
First serve is a wide second Service Employees party to the forehand saint for Kabayeva convertibles closing into the net and she takes it out of the air but cannot execute as that shot goes long and we are in Guess what a deuce we're already for.
Quite familiar with those here in the first set, she went for the volume.
Clearly regretted that decision afterwards.
So who knows how long this juice is going to go? I believe the other one would went seven deuces.
Yeah, there was a bit of shade there over Thea Arena for a second, but the sun peaks right back out, son.
Clearly frustrating. Committed.
But she does not like to deal with the sun here, serving in the afternoon.
And that forehand shot his long advantage party in a break point for her.
And the crowd comes alive at Rod Laver Arena.
And you know, Barney definitely seems to be in better shape as to not just because of the scoreline, but you didn't just tell us physically that commit of us is getting frustrated with yourself.
She goes down the line, the forehand party's gonna get there committed on the backhand, Bardi, somehow ableto return it.
But it will indeed go wide point to convince Ava.
And it's deuce number two.
This came already lasting six and 1/2 minutes.
Who knows? It could go as long as the last game one.
What's going on, Karam? Yeah, I know, man.
Rip Kobe. No doubt, man.
That's just saddening news. Tragic news.
I don't really know how else to put it. It's crazy.
Did Bill Peters do something offensive in the NHL? Um, Deuce number two year.
I mean, yeah, he was racist.
That's why he got fired.
That backhand return goes along, if that's what you mean, Von I think that's pretty offensive.
Eso commit of us so far.
One for seven on break points.
One Meanwhile, Bharti's one for three.
So both players don't have a the ah, that much success advantage of Inaba.
MBA should have canceled all games.
Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't have a problem with that, but I also don't have a problem with them playing honestly.
So, uh, this return, it's the net and committed a takes.
The game that's must needed for her.
The frustration was kicking in there, but she has stay disciplined.
Four all Barney, now serving and the trophy that all these players at the Australian Open are playing for is right outside Rod Laver Arena at Melbourne Park on display for the fans in attendance.
Yeah, I wouldn't be against can't canceling all the games.
But then you said a president, because then in the future, you know, like if another big name, you know, unfortunately passed away.
I'm not saying, um that's gonna happen, or hopefully it doesn't happen any time soon, obviously, but like and they don't cancel games for that, then I think people get frustrated.
Oh, you didn't You didn't cancel games for you.
Canceled games for Kobe, but not for Player X or something.
I don't know that that's an issue that could arise if they canceled the Games.
I'd have no problem with it personally, but it could cause problems in the future.
So, you know, 30 love here and Barney's first serve is long, but yeah, it was kind of a sad day with like, it was just strange Strange evening with all those MBA games going on.
Um, yeah, I was watching the Celtics and they kept, you know, like putting the game in the corner and, you know, talking about Kobe Bryant back in like the studio.
It was just sad, man.
Yeah, so 30 love here, body in the lead and that service just barely wide body had the power and nearly the accuracy as well.
But instead it's a double fault.
I served from body committed.
His return is long, and it make it 40 15 game point for Barty as she can retake the lead in the opening set.
A very competitive first set going back and forth between these two and Barney, though Mrs the forehand there and now she's getting a little aggravated with herself, 40 30.
And guess what? Kevin was trying to force the deuce here.
I've not be surprised at all if there is a deuce because we've had won.
Just about every game so far are at least in recent memory.
The last few and that serve is wide left.
Party second serve Coming up 43 minutes into the match, you're on SportsCastr and that service gonna go off the net.
And why? It's another double fault from Ashleigh Barty and we are indeed in a deuce.
Wow, you can't make these things up with players on the back end.
Coveted switching on the forehand.
One handed slice from Barney near the baseline.
Both players at the center party now switching over to the forehand.
A good rally between these two.
We haven't seen many great rally so far in this one cross court shot.
Now, Barney, with the slice, Ash is going to go down the line convertible, able to return cross court shot from Barty and cabin of Ah, doing a lot of the running and that forehand shot down the line goes.
Why Advantage Party? That last rally 21 shots And Bharti, so far in her backhand, spends 52% of the event Topspin.
So she likes the variety there.
She likes to switch it up.
Do I know any Finland soccer player names? Good question.
Um oh, And that return from primitive as long? I don't think so.
Vaughn, Are there any finished soccer players? I even know? I don't know.
I want to think about it, But I have to think about it overnight because that's gonna put a wrap on the broadcast folks 44 minutes into the match.
Unfortunately, I have to put a wrap on it.
Ashleigh Barty in the lead over Patrick.
A bit of a 5 to 4 on what's been a very competitive first set.
