Welcome to the end, these fantasy football show.
Now for your host, Dan Mater.
Come back, everybody.
Yes, this is Dan Mater.
Welcome back, Empty nation to the ending Change football show.
And we are rolling here back to back now, the reason why we're doing that after we just got done doing a video saying that we were going to go ahead and wait until after Super Bowl, we're gonna do Joe Bro here on the player profile spotlight, but did not realize that we were having so many audio issues with the last episode that we just had until going back and watching over the video.
And we did not want to go out into the weekend into Super Bowl Week next week, two weeks away from next player profile Spotlight with you guys thinking that that's how the audio was actually going to sound.
So we're gonna go ahead and actually do this now.
I don't want to make sure you guys know that we did work out the king.
We figure out what was going on there, and we're well, she should be good now.
Here, moving forward.
I do apologize for that.
Be in case you were wondering keys.
He did not see if you watched the replay.
Just go ahead and skip the beginning part of it because we did figure out the audio halfway in, especially when we were breaking down the actual tape onto a tackle Ebola.
And during that the audio's just fine, so I still encourage you to go ahead washing replay on that on Facebook.
Live on YouTube at World on Facebook Live.
But you could rewatch that on the face of page at M D F F show.
You can go to YouTube Search and these fantasy football show on YouTube, and you'll be able to watch the video there.
And, of course, you could always go back and watch the replay on SportsCastr dot com at m d F f belly up US end.
So we are gonna go do this pretty quickly.
I've definitely apologize for the audio version that will buy us why we want to do the job.
Now you get some extra.
As a result, you gotta score because now he gets up extra content that you were expecting to put out there today for job rose, and that's a good thing because we broke down to attack.
Of all, we talked about how he is my number one quarterback and probably a good thing to go ahead and come back on the other side with breaking down Joe Pa.
Why he's our number two heading into this season, whether some of things that we do like about him, whether some of things that we are maybe possibly a little bit more concerned when it comes to Joe Burrow on that on that front.
So let's go ahead and get started into this one.
We won't take up as much time as we did in the two a version.
We do have some good film that we're gonna go through on this as well, and kind of just go through a little bit on what we see at a job burrow where some of our concerns, but most importantly, of course, one of our pros, because the guy has a lot of pros with without a doubt.
So here's your career stats, bro Bro. Breaking down.
As you can see, they're pretty good.
Almost 69 percent completion percentage.
Really great stuff out of him.
Of course, most of these big time stats.
He was only a starter for two seasons, and the majority of it just came this past year where he just had this.
You know, this crazy every year that everyone knows about it, with how he played the national championship on the statistical season, that he had arguably one of the best date in college ever.
So a lot of things were kind of going over here as well with him.
And, uh, look, you know, he's a big time scrambler. He is.
That's what that's what really kind of got me the most was the fact that this guy is more mobile than I think.
People realized that we're gonna get into that tape a little bit in the pros and cons and whatnot.
But he really is.
He is absolutely incredible when it comes, using his legs, being able to move the chains, being able to use it as a weapon.
I would say he's on.
He'd used his legs even more of a weapon than two.
It does, but it does get a little bit of trouble because he doesn't always use it in the sense that you're trying to extend the play and look down.
The field sometimes just kind of takes off and runs at certain times.
His athleticism, and I'm gonna give you comparison a little bit early here.
But his athleticism reminds me a lot of somewhere in between a Daniel Jones and a Josh Alan when you're breaking down.
Joe Burrow and his athleticism, his moat, his mobility.
And the reason for that is because he's definitely faster than Daniel Jones.
But he's by don't think quite.
It's not quite as quick as Josh Alan, but he used his weapon.
He's used his legs in a similar type of way of Josh.
He will lean on them to make plays.
He will lean on the move the chains, and he's more explosive than you think, because he is such a long strider.
Now you see, appear.
Got the pros and cons on the screen, right in front of you here and we got him.
He's NFL ready without a doubt.
Look, while I think to attack, LaVoy is the number one quarterback in this draft class, and if I was the Cincinnati Bengals, I would in fact take him number one overall.
The reason I am not going to kill the Bangles by any stretch of means that they decide they want to take Joe Borough number one overall is because he is definitely NFL ready.
He's going to be ready to go Day one.
He's a student of the game.
He's got consistent technique.
That's a big reason why he's ready to go big one, because he he's going to have the mental capacity of the game down.
Enough course is going to sell things going, need to learn.
But I'm gonna have a down enough that he's going to be even come in their day one and actually perform on at least a competent level, if not a very good level.
We talked about his mobility, won the best things I like about him and his accuracy in the short and intermediate parts of the field.
He's incredibly accurate.
We love what he's able to do there in those areas.
Now, some of the cons I do have for him he is a polished product, which leaves little room for improvement.
Now you may say, Hey, we think Joe Bro is great the way he is that maybe he doesn't need to improve drastically to be a very good NFL quarterback.
The one thing I do worry about when it comes on rookies, if they have setbacks, if they have some issues in the NFL, one of the easiest ways build coach those guys up and over.
The hurdle is when they have obvious breakdowns and their technique that you can kind of teach them.
In Joe Burrows case, he doesn't really have that, which is why I look at him.
Somebody I think you might be already as good as you are going to be as what you are right now and sometimes as something that's fine.
Sometimes you're already where you need to be to be a good NFL quarterback, but sometimes you need to be able to show improvement in certain areas.
And when you're going into the NFL, so it doesn't make me a little bit worried when you have a rookie coming in who, frankly, I don't really great as a guy who has a lot of potential to be even better than what we have seen thus far because it's kind of already a polished product as it is, it's harder to teach those guys different things when they already are set in their ways and have consistently good technique and maybe not feel like it's such a great thing, they have to improve upon or change in any kind of way.
The other thing, too.
Is that my knock on him? He only has a slightly above average arm strength in general now if he has very good timing and he has very good footwork, he can still you can still make all the NFL throws.
You can still push the ball down the field.
We're going to see ah, couple of plays in the film study that we're gonna go through here where he is able to do that.
But one of things that is definitely clear.
If things are not perfect, if the timing is not perfect, if his footwork is not perfect, he does not have the natural arm strength to get the ball down the field when need be and it winds up being short and we're going to see some couple examples off that as well when we break down the tape here on Joe Burrow.
So this kind of keep that in mind as one knocks I have on him It's why I keep him out of maybe being over to a title.
A boa is that arm strength is not naturally there.
It has to come through.
Technique has come through.
Consistency has to come through timing and if things break down around him, I question if he tries to push the ball down the field, if you will be able to get the ball there on a consistent basis while the other knocks on him, of course that he is 1/5 year senior.
So he is in a situation where came and L issued this year.
And he is not only older and everybody else a little bit more mature and everybody else has been around the game a little bit longer than everybody else.
They're in college, and that in it of itself, can give you, ah, quite a big advantage moving forward and I still only 23.
I think a lot of it being made out of it.
He's not as own People think he's not going to be 24 until December, part of season told later part of the season.
So this is a guy who's still young enough where you're not getting him on the cusp of where he would need to be in his prime just yet.
So I think that's a little bit overblown off some of the people who do not Jo Bro for being 1/5 year senior.
But one of things that I don't is the fact that he did have to leave Ohio State.
He could not be out J T Bear for the starting quarterback position.
He could not beat out Dwayne Haskins for the quarterback position.
I don't really blame too much.
I mean, let's keep in mind you're doing Haskins was a first rounder last year, so the idea that he couldn't beat out doing Haskin somehow is a knock against him.
I don't really put too much talking to that, but I do find an engineer.
This guy had to transfer somewhere else to really take on.
Now, one of the great things he does have going for him is the fact that he wand up with having Joe Brady as his offensive coordinator, who now is gonna be office according to Carolina Panthers, and is really one of the better offensive minds young offensive minds out there.
A quarterback guru have worked with Sean Pain or for the scenes.
So that's where he really saw him take a big step up.
That's why he looked like such a different quarterback from his junior year into his senior year.
If cancer differ anyway, he was reading the offense.
The defense's were different.
And of course, the offense itself that they were playing in was different and also opens a lot of things up naturally, just because of the Offenses system that they were running as well.
So everything kind of came together for Joe Burrow in this one, and that's why we want to break down the film and see exactly what we're seeing.
Let's remove ourselves from the hype a little bit and really go into it with clean eyes, and there's a lot of great things that we're gonna like.
And that's why he does have hype around him.
Of course, last condo I want to talk about here is the fact that he never lines up under center.
Now, maybe in today's NFL, depending on where he lands and most people thinking about the Cincinnati Bengals, it may not matter as much.
I do know here and we're gonna talk about the Bangles taking him.
Zac Taylor wants to run something similar.
Solomon Van? Of course, Yes.
Sean McCabe wants his fair share of shock in formation, but that often is predicated on being a single back running back.
You have Joe Mixon, who, quite frankly, is a similar mold there to Todd Gurley.
You want to be able to line up under center as much as you.
Possibly that you didn't say as much you possibly can, but you won't be able to line up.
Understand it because the way that you want to run the ball the way he wanted utilize his own scheme that they do win running the football and the way you want to use play action and levels.
And that's something you just didn't do A lot of it doesn't mean he can't do it.
Doesn't mean you can't learn to do it well and use a play fix, but it wasn't something that he did.
He just constantly ran shock on our pios out of Joe Brady's offense per diem.
I would say it was well over 50% of time is when they were running our Pios there and Alice you.
So there is going to be somewhat of an adjustment in that sense, because you're not going to doing that 24 7 in the NFL, especially Zach Taylor, who does have a certain type of offense of mine in place.
That's the only knock I could see.
Is this that we just haven't seen.
It is not necessary.
Knock is more of an observation that you can kind of put down.
There is a question mark off something that may need to be able to be answered before we go ahead and jump into the film, though I do want to mention one of our sponsors real quickly here defends doctors.

Okay, so now yeah, I know.
I get a little misfire on the last ones. Okay.
We'll be breaking into the job, Earl Film.
We're going over a lot of things there Before we get into that.
I do want to mention real quick that we are live on all three platforms in this video as well.
It's going very, very well today.
And now the audio ***es should be even better.
But we have. We're live on SportsCastr.
I go there at m D f f belly up us end and watch any of our replace any of our videos at any times we are going to do live replaces something we're gonna be trying out.
So we're gonna be doing and because the audio on the two, uh, Tech Novoa version would did not come out great.
We're not going to do a live replay on now.
And if you want to go back and watch it, you can go the SportsCastr or go to YouTube, which were on there, too.
Watch the indecency football show subscribe.
Get the video there.
Like I said, the audio for when we're actually breaking down, the actual film is good to go.
So you guys are fine there.
And of course, you go to Facebook at M.
D F F show and we watch that video there as well.
But this one, this one we are going to in fact, go ahead and break down the film on.
We're gonna take a quick break with a comeback on the other side, and we'll have jobs from right here for you.
And what we're going to do is kind of just break it down.
Break some of the things that were pros and cons that we found and we'll have that up and running in just a second, all right, And we are back and we're ready to go here.
So let's go ahead.
Kick that film off.
Here's what we have for you now.
Well, on breath.
All right, Now we have on Joe borrow this first place, we're gonna see a scramble.
So I was talking about right.
We have his mobility is really, really good.
And it's something that I think is underrated part of his game.
And people don't realize how much in the NFL he is going to be able to utilize is part of his game and really be able to make some place.
Let's wash the first plate and then we'll run it back on the 2nd 1 Okay, So as you could see there, he really is able to make a guy miss.
He's able to take it down the field.
He's got a long way long, Strider and I would be interested to see if he actually does wind up running the 40.
I think he would have come out pretty well there if that was going to want to be in the case.
So, uh, we, um let's go back and washes.
So, uh, didn't transition for you guys.
All right, so we're gonna go back with washes again.
So let's bring it down from the top now.
You guys actually have the film in a in front of you? Sorry about that. Real quick.
And he's in the scramble.
Got three receivers, one flex, one tight end, one running back.
He's going up against a dime blitz in this one, and he shows why he's gonna be ableto a chain mover in the NFL.
So we're gonna see the blitz.
He's gonna get flushed out to left and be able to make a play on the other side.
So let's watch that.
So just now, he sees a blitz coming.
You got the linebacker and safety coming on.
This one sees it right away.
There's no hot read.
Running backs picked up his check downs picked up.
You got man on man coverage.
All well around here was he does.
He flushes out, takes to the sticks himself.
Nobody in front make sky best. Now in the NFL.
You're gonna want to make sure that he gets down in that situation would make sure he slides.
You don't want to take that hit out there in the open field to make sure he gets out of bounds, but not a big deal.
There he is, a bigger guy than most.
So in college is going to kind of get away with some of those things like that, and that's that's kind of why you seem kind of going for it in that situation.
But that's where the biggest things I like about Joe Burns, why I don't necessarily kill him for his arms shake.
Necessarily, because even though he's in situations that he can't actually push the ball down, the field of things aren't perfect.
He's gonna be able to use his legs to either extend the play or be able to take off and make a play in his own rights.
That's one of the reasons why we like Joe Borough quite a bit there now for this next play.
He makes a great read, and we're still washing the Texas tape on this one, and he's gonna have three wide receivers in this 11 flexed flux Doubt tight end, one running back.
The coverage is going to be a nickel zone blitz.
So as you can see down here at the bottom, he's got the three trips on the one side flexed out tight as he moves over a little bit.
He's not lined up exactly on the line of scrimmage, ready to block.
He knows when to go out and run his pattern.
So it's watching you have here.
You got the four of you get the four rushers coming up right here.
You got two linebackers and then you clearly got the saving.
Who can drops in a little bit here.
And then you gotta have the zone push off coverage here with these two guys locked up.
And, of course, you have the safety who's counting for him and the linebackers accounting for the tight at Does the play action passes reading the defense right here? Both of these linebackers step up off the play action fake.
And like I said, these are pose is what this offense was built off of us when he ran the majority percent of the time.
Of course, that will be a staple in the NFL.
What he's going probably do with Zach Taylor there as well But keep watching as you go here now hits the wide receiver all across the field, finds a soft coverage in the zone, especially the linebackers.
And safety came up off the play fake to begin with, and all of a sudden he's got a wide open guy and just finds it.
And then it hits him right there for a nice pickup in the yard game.
Now we're gonna see him.
Break it down here one more time.
Look at the snap.
I kind of have the reed here.
He knows that these linebackers are able to buy on this fake.
He's going have the wide receiver coming across here on the middle.
He's gonna be open in the zone because that's exactly what they're showing them off of.
That your blessing, the one guy picks it up by the running back, just enough, and then bam hits him right.
Then they're so that was a pretty nice showing their job or Omega degree.
Rain hits the guy on the intermediate part of field, and that was really the bread and butter of his game.
About 10 to 15 yards down the field is that guy opened especially against zone coverage because he is so accurate, he's really going to anticipate where that wide receiver is going to come open.
That happened time and time again, really, throughout the season here.
Now, in this one, he's gonna standing against some pressure in his face.
Four wide receivers.
One morning back.
It's gonna be a dime blitz in the man coverage here, and we're gonna see why receivers gonna streak and then sticks the slot in the streets of the sticks and then the site where she's gonna come across in a skinny post over the middle.
Now he's going to show his ability to step up with pressure and his face and still deliver a perfectly thrown ball while improv ing way.
How he has to deliver this and you're gonna wash the first plane will break it down on the 2nd 1 All right, so you see, that comes up steps up.
Makes a great throw in this one here.
He feels it feels it.
And then bam feels pressure up.
The middle is ableto take it over the top.
He's the wide receiver going across the middle, perfectly thrown ball.
And now we're gonna now we're gonna see it again.
This is a different play against Texas, but the same idea this time he's going to even under more pressure, and he's gonna make another play.
But this time it's going to be a little bit less fundamentally sound.
And he's still gonna be able to deliver this ball just because of his will power to be able to do so in his improvisation skills.
So what washes First plane will break it down the 2nd 1 because a similar mold here guy steps up, Prakit jumps up off of his feet, makes the play.
Why? Receiver at sticks comes across and goes down the field.
Always Dutch, actually.
So washes again. You got a zone. You got a dime.
Got some defensive backs.
They're gonna be bringing the blitz from different angles inside the pouring all three of the guys in the middle with one linebacker to slot corner.
So now you know you got man on man with safety is everyone's locked up on a wide receiver and a corner here.
Bam, bam, bam, bam! He's got the running back. Potential here.
Francis said too many guys can't block a mall job, Bro sees it steps up in the pocket.
Look how he avoids the fender here on the other side, and then he's able to step up.
Over here is the safety's kind of comment on the quarterback and try to get his hands up in the air, deflected with defender on him in here, right in the rib cage area.
Make that throw.
Get it down the field on a dime.
It was a wobbler.
It wasn't Spider Booze where it needed to be at the sticks.
Forward number two to catch the ball.
And then he just does the rest as he just outruns the rest of the defense for the touchdown.
On that play, that was really the great pick up there for Joe Pearl.
That was one of the things we want to see him play.
Can he? Can he really deliver when the pocket around him breaks down? When things are not going exactly to plan and thinks they're not perfect for him? Can he still deliver the ball now on that one? It still wasn't a hugely deep pass, and he saw how much it was non spiral.
It took a little bit to get there.
He kind of had a LA button, but it was a 10 yard strike.
He was still able to make the play still a big time play and was still kept his most importantly, kept his eyes down the field while things around him were breaking down.
So that's the most important thing that we kind of want to be able to see their now.
We got Auburn here.
This one who's gonna show great technique versus Auburn are we got three receivers one time and one running back.
He goes up against a ****el.
Ah, ****el, a nickel man coverage on a cover to here and we're going to see him. The top water.
Syria is gonna go deep slot wide receivers gonna run a post.
The title's gonna run a drag the running backs and go to the flat and the bottom water.
Seaver down here is going to go deep as well.
Now Brozova shows excellent technique and timing and can give him the opportunity to make all of the NFL throws here.
And this is a prototypical Joe Borough moment that shows you why he is able to still make the place that he's able to make, so has washed.
His 1st 1 will break it down them, or that they're out.
Perfect. Now watch.
He knows of the coverage is right off the bat first and foremost, so he knows he could have one on one.
On the outside, he looks the safety down the middle.
First of the skinny post of the slot ride receiver, flips his hips out and goes from back the front and twist his body twisted about him.
Have his body get that extra torque.
Puts it up in the air on the rainbow, shot on a dime to the wide receiver.
Fender falls down.
That that that should those of the ways Joe Pearl's gonna wanna push down, push the ball down the field more times.
Not those are the ways you're going to see him push the ball down the field more times, and that is when he's going to have timing routes.
He's able to use his ability, his technique, to be able to do so.
So now we have Next up is is gonna be an interception against Auburn.
All right, so we're gonna see three receivers were gonna be a tight and just running back.
It's gonna be Nicholas going, Amanda, man, all the all the wide receivers gonna run streaks down the field, and the tight end is gonna be running a drag.
Now what? Wash here.
What happens when his technique is it necessarily 100% there.
And what happened? He tried to push the ball down the field, and this happened time and time again.
Not always an interception, but does happen at times band and winds up being short.
What happens here stabs the ball, gonna get pressure.
He doesn't step up.
He's gonna feel pressure from the outside right here.
He's got a clean pocket right here that if he just sets his feet and instead of releasing it here, if he just sets his feet and set steps up this one extra step into this area, he will be able to put enough velocity on throw to hit the wide receiver in the back of the end zone.
Which is where this ball needs to be thrown to begin with.
Because defender is underneath of him and There's no safety over talk to Bill to help him out.
All he has to do is take that one step up.
But this is what happens when he just sits there and it happens quite a bit.
There's a lot of times, or Joe Part feels like he doesn't need to take that extra step up because you just shifting his weight from back to front and sometimes that's fine.
When you're throwing it 10 to 15 yards, you may not have to be able to do so, but when you're going to launch it where we have about 35 yarder here in the air, you have to go in and your job early.
Don't have a natural arm shrink.
You have to take that extra step up right here to be able to get that extra umph, the extra velocity on your throat and when you try to rainbow it the way that you do and you don't step up to the throw, a lot of times it is gonna wind up being short like it is on this one and winds up getting picked off as a result.
So that's one of the things that really kind of breaks down with his tape.
11 of the things that we kind of see here, though I do get a little bit concerned at times when it comes to Joe Burrow.
But overall here we're talking about a quarterback who has definitely stupid the game.
He understands, reads.
He understands ringing defense is both pre snap and post AP.
He's very accurate and that short to intermediate part of the field, and he's also he's got the stature.
He's, you know, he's a big quarterback.
He's big guy we had in the beginning of the show.
He's trying to pull it up here in front of the 64 to 16.
You got that prototypical size.
He's not a small guy, but the biggest thing about him is that he has the mobility.
So when things break down around him, he's still going to be able to go ahead and be able to make plays, be able to extend the play, be able to move the change if need be so that's one of things that make me really excited about him before we go ahead and kick off our clothes and capturing.

Show it much better.
The audio for corrections were meat.
So we feel much better about going into the weekend now that that we were able to get through the job burrows tape.
But that is why I like Look, we're talking about Joe Borough talking about to attack the vote.
That's why we had to ID number one.
He just has a more natural ability to him.
But Joe Borough, as far as the mental capacity of the game starting NFL ready, he is ready to go Now.
This incentive Bangles will have a guy that they could start day one without a doubt and see what kind of future that they can mold him into.
But one of the big questions I have So we were talking about him from, ah, fantasy perspective.
Here is if he goes the Cincinnati Bengals.
Do they have a job? We have Joe Mixon, but do they have a J.
Green? Are you going to have to lean on Tyler Boy and maybe a Jon Roscoe? John Ross is gonna be a free agent to see a lot of things in flux right now with the Cincinnati Bengals.
That's why I like Joe Borough.
I don't like him as much as I do for two of her dynasty purposes.
Now, for redraft purposes, Yes.
Obviously, Joe Bro's gonna be more valuable to you guys and Avery Jack capacity than to attack a level will because I expect over Oh, to start day one.
We're into his case.
Depending on the situation he winds up in, there's a very real chance that will not wind up being the case.
So yes, job er will have more redraft fantasy value for you in 2020 But even then I don't know how much for streaming quarterback.
He's going to be That, I think is gonna Wiley depend on how much he shows you. He wants to run.
He's not gonna be somebody you draft.
Obviously, if he's somebody who starts to show you in the NFL, especially early weeks, that he's not afraid to take the ball down and run the ball quite consistently, then he has somebody think he might have some more fantasy value than you would have necessarily expected.
But he's not someone who we feel like it is going to have a lot of weapons at his disposal.
We really don't expect a J Green tea back in Cincinnati.
We really don't expect John Ross to be back in Cincinnati heading into this week.
You know you have a tight end Tyler Eifert, who's never healthy and really nothing more than a Red Zone threat at this point.
His career, either.
So the weapons that you can definitely count on for Joe Burrow to be there is going to be Tyler Boyd and Joe Mixon.
Now, of course, from a redraft standpoint, we're gonna have a better idea.
You know, when we get to that standpoint, when when we get to that as part of the field, we're gonna know what the rosters are from a dynasty draft standpoint.
You should You should know it's here because to me, if you're in a dynasty like there's really no reason to be drafting before the NFL draft, I know there's some leagues to do, and I don't really understand why.
Because you don't know what the roster is going to be like or looking like potentially moving forward until after the NFL draft.
The most part, when free agency has concluded when they have all the other rookies around them with the opportunities are really gonna look like.
So I never really understood the idea of why teams do that beforehand.
Hopeful you're in a dynasty league that does way until the fantasy draft is over.
But if it's somehow not the case, for whatever reason, uh, something you're gonna have to take in consideration that you really may not have the weapons that you're expecting to have a job.
Hopefully, your draft is after that.
Hopefully, ah, you will be able to know exactly what you're getting yourself into when it comes to his situation.
But when he's going to Cincinnati Bengals.
It is kind of a question of situation at best, because you just you don't know what kind of weapons he's really going to have.
Outside of Joe Mix and outside of Tyler Boyd.
At this given moment, this is the guy who's going to be ready to go.
He's gonna be efficient and the panel weapons you have.
You could have some big games throughout the year as well, but he is our number two quarterback for this, the next two quarterbacks that we're going to talk about, what we do.
The player profile spotlights, which we will come back after the Super Bowl week will be Jake from, and we'll talk about Justin Herbert.
And then that will wrap up the quarterback player profile spotlights that we have.
And then we'll get into the running backs.
We're going towards hot for running backs on the other side, our top four wide receivers and possibly top two tight ends.
Maybe more, we'll see what happens at that point.
