What's going on? Everybody Sorry.
Ah, last stream kind of cropped out there.
I'm gonna try to get this going again.
And Ah, you're not.
Probably have to hear a repeat of what I've already talked about.
And I apologize, but I gotta I gotta redo this for the I gotta redo this for the YouTube.
So as soon as it gets all started off, I will start it off again, and then we can have a good time and we can talk.
So sorry about that.
Going in a minute.
Thank you all for tuning into SportsCastr. You look great.
Dealing with my technical difficulties.
I truly, truly appreciate that.
And, uh, we're gonna get this going here in just a moment or so.
So I apologize for everybody for crapping out on you.
So Jimmy Garoppolo is taking the San Francisco 40 Niners to the Super Bowl, and that has some New England Patriot fans questioning if Bill Belichick made the right decision, trading a rising star and keeping an old Tom Brady the New England Patriots actually have other free agents Besides Tom Brady and Devin McCourty is not thinking about retirement at all.
Will he return to the Patriots? Will he not? That's a question that we will address tonight.
For the first time since the New England Patriots were served on early elimination at the hands of a New England Patriots legend, Mike Vrabel and his Tennessee Titans, the Patriots somewhat have finally publicly addressed whether or not they were going to re sign Tom Brady with three beautiful words that Pats Nation has been waiting to hear. Quote.
We plan to dear past nation What's going on? It's your boy, Ray, and welcome to my little show here on DP and Sports Talk live on stage SportsCastr, take to have you been watching on SportsCastr and thank you.
Everybody was tuning in and watching this replay on YouTube.
Ladies and gentlemen of Pats Nation, I am up on SportsCastr every single night of the week at 10 p.m. Eastern time.
If you can't catch me live, you can always catch the replay as soon as the show finishes.
And if that can't if you can't do that, then you can always wait until 10 a.
The next morning on YouTube, it gets released, then all I like to do is sit back, kick back, talk some football, talk some patriots.
I'm also I have a new YouTube channel some of you might know about called the Grid Iran, where I talk about the biggest news in sports.
It's not an opinion nated show like pads like deep and sports talk.
It is just a news for football.
If you're looking for football news, I've left the link in my description on YouTube and with all that being said, guys, I'd like to jump right into this Patriots video here tonight where I talk about the three subjects already talked about because here a DP and we like football.
We like football season and everything that goes with it.
So Patriots owner Robert Kraft was in New York City on Tuesday night and he was tracked down by one of those parasites from T M Z.
And he went up and he asked Mr Kraft, are the Patriots going to re sign the future Hall of Famer six time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady and Mr Kraft simply responded with? We plan to no guys.
I found this somewhat significant because the new England Patriots as an organization, whether its head coach, Bill Belichick, back whether it's any of his coaching staff, whether it's any of the Patriots players, how whether it's the Patriots players and no longer play on the Patriots and the craft family.
All included in that everybody always chooses their words very, very carefully and as a fan base in the fans of the path of the Patriots, past Nation, whatever you want to call it, I think that we've basically been conditioned to not expect anything of value to ever being said publicly.
And guys, if we started chopping up all the different sound bites of the last five season between Brady and Ballot Check and Craft and whoever, we would probably have gotten 30 seconds of actual useful content.
That's why here in Mr Kraft publicly proclaimed that the Patriots plan to bring back Brady.
I find that very, very significant.
We all know our goat, Tom Brady.
He will be 43 years old at the start of the 2020 season and guys for the first time in his career, as we all know, because we've heard about it 1000 times, he's facing free agency.
And as of March 18th Tom Brady would be open and able to sign with any team that would want to sign him.
Now, look, I have stood pretty firm that I believe Tom Brady will be returning to the Patriots and Mr Crafts.
Words gave me even more confidence moving forward that Brady will be returning to New England.
Whether you're a Patriots fan, whether your Chiefs fan whether your Jets fan, whether you're a fan of any other team in the NFL, can you really picture? Can you envision Tom Brady wearing the jersey of another team? Because I find it almost impossible to think of now.
Brady, Of course, he is the greatest Patriot of all time, and I think the only thing that would make sense right now for Tom Brady for the organization is a re union with the coach and the owner that have been so instrumental to his success over the last 20 years.
Now, Tom Brady, he is not on Lee, a six time Super Bowl champion.
He's a 14 time Pro Bowler.
He holds multiple NFL records, and he is a four time Super Bowl M V P and a three time league NFL and the NFL league MVP.
Brady's contract status has obviously added the most fuel to the fire, but it goes a little bit deeper than just his contract Now.
The Patriots, They had a pretty good season this season.
They finished 12 and four.
They were a F C East champions.
But the Patriots going to the playoffs and be knocked out of the postseason so early and losing the second seed at home on the last game of the season to an A F C East rival of Miami Dolphins.
That is the definition of the New England Patriots, underachieving Brady and Belichick.
They have set a bar so high they have set a standard so high they have.
I made it very difficult, almost impossible to achieve the standard that they set.
But when you think about it, for almost 20 years, 20 years, the Patriots have been meeting almost every single one of their goals.
Now the Patriots are gonna have to ensure that they properly entice Brady to return to the team.
And I know that there is rumors out there that Tom Brady wants top dollar.
He's embarrassed by his contract Suddenly at 42 years old, he's he's got little man syndrome and he's looking at all the money around the league, giving his wife of the multi billionaire.
He wants more money.
That's what people are trying to tell us.
That's what guys, that Gary Tango, you're trying to scream at us.
I don't think it's all gonna be about money when we look at Tom Brady's play last year, his number's dropped this season, and I truly believe it was much more about his offensive teammates.
Then it was about Tom Brady.
Bill Bell check is gonna have to look at in a dress and fix a bunch of problems on the offense.
And believe it or not, I don't believe it's the wide receiver position.
I believe that Julian Edelman, Nikkila, Harry Mohammed Sunu and Jacoby Meyers are good enough to get it done, but not on their own.
Bill Belichick is going to have to address the tight end situation, and he's gonna have to address it both in free agency and through the draft.
He's either gonna have to bring in two veteran tight ends, one of them being a star like a Hooper or Henry.
He's gonna have to bring in a second to your guy like an Eifert, and he's gonna have to draft a top prospect tight end.
Or he brings in one star in drafts to prospect tight ends.
That's what they need to do.
If he can do that a Bell check and achieve that goal, then he will be easily fixed.
The receiving problems on offense.
The Patriots are also gonna have to stabilize their offensive line.
It looks more and more like Joe Tune is gonna be gone.
We can't go through a season with Aluminum and Newhouse as blockers for for Tom Brady, and that's probably not to be addressed through the draft.
But if the Patriots front office, more specifically Caesarea on below, check if they do their job and build an offense that Tom Brady likes, I 100% guarantee the number 12.
We'll be back at Gillette Stadium when mini camp starts.
Mark my words, write it down.
I said it today.
Now, the next thing that I want to address Pats Nation is all these opinion articles, all these talking heads, All these people who are now talking did build ballot shack make a mistake, trading away Jimmy Garoppolo and keeping Tom Brady and old Tom Brady as people have liked to explain it.
And I'm here to tell you that the Patriots absolutely made the right decision keeping Tom Brady over Jimmy Garoppolo because look, here's the fax.
Jimmy Garoppolo could very well become a three time Super Bowl champion and just a couple of weeks when he plays in Super Bowl 54.
But I'd like to remind you, I'd like to remind the San Francisco faithful I'd like to remind the Chiefs I want to remind everybody all one.
Ryan, the whole bloody world that Jimmy G has never started a single game in the Super Bowl never started a single Super Bowl game.
And he's on Lee, a two time Super Bowl champion, because of Tom Brady.
I think I would also like to remind Pats Nation that we have been able to celebrate six Super Bowl championships because of Tom Brady, including two Super Bowl appearances after Jimmy Garoppolo was traded away.
And I know that it sounds like I've spent this whole week trying to discredit Jimmy Garoppolo and maybe, maybe I really, you know, by the things I've said, maybe I have.
But this credit in him, it would have been completely unintentional.
Jimmy is a good quarterback and he has a very good future in front of him.
All I'm trying to do is remind people that Jimmy Garoppolo is no longer a New England patriot and we do not have to celebrate him like he still wears that Patriots uniform.
I'm not excited that Jimmy G gets to play Super Bowl Sunday when Tom Brady's gonna be sitting at home watching the game from his couch.
And I don't understand why people on Patriots Nation are acting like this is some great thing.
But what's been even more frustrating is the chatter that I've seen on Twitter.
The comments I've seen on my YouTube page, Patriots fans saying that Jimmy Garoppolo should be the starting quarterback of the New England Patriots and that build Ballot Shack screwed the Patriots future by trading him away and keeping Tom Brady first of all, blaming Bill Belichick for trading.
Garoppolo is ignorant and uneducated.
I think by now everybody is aware that the Patriots owner, Mr Robert Kraft, forced Bill Bella Jack's hand, but that's not even what I'm here to debate right now, I'm here to debate whether or not the Patriots made the right decision.
Going with the greatest quarterback to ever play the game or his backup.
And look a lot of conversation.
You know, hasn't it? Hasn't just been sparked because Garoppolo finds himself in the Super Bowl because of his team's outstanding defense and running game.
It's also become a topic of conversation because of the uncer*****y and Tom Brady's contract status and the possibility that he won't return to New England next season.
Fortunately, I don't live in the world of hypotheticals and Aiken on Lee Discuss, fax.
And here's the fax.
After Bill Belichick traded Jimmy Garoppolo for a bag of potatoes, Tom Brady was selected as the league M v P and brought the Patriots back to the Super Bowl.
Having Jimmy Garoppolo wouldn't have made a lick of difference in the Patriots Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Brady set Super Bull records, throwing for 505 yards and three touchdowns and what unfortunately turned into a 41 to 33 losing effort.
The Patriots and Tom Brady battled their way back last season battled their way back to the Super Bowl, and they beat the L.
A Rams, and they brought a six Lombardi Trophy back to New England, living in hypotheticals.
If Bill Belichick one the power struggle and let Tom Brady walk away, there is no guarantee that Jimmy Garoppolo brings the Patriots to a Super Bowl.
And we, when we look at this season that just Waas.
Could Garoppolo have accomplished any better throwing the ball to McKeel Harry Philip, Door sat Mohammad Sanu and a broken Julian Edelman? I don't think he could.
Living in the world of fax.
The Patriots are at a crossroads, and I think that a crossroads that we've all been dreading for the last 10 years, that doesn't mean that the Patriots made a mistake sticking with Tom Brady.
It just means that we were able to watch them win another Super Bowl with no guarantee that the other guy would have gotten us there.
Yeah, there's also no guarantee that Tom Brady isn't back next season.
If Bill Bouche I can get some legitimate offensive weapons, the Patriots could easily make their way.
There's back to Super Bowl 55 now of course that's living in hypotheticals, but it's a real possibility.
But there was a good possibility the Jimmy Garoppolo was gonna be something special in the NFL.
But we also knew that Tom Brady is special, right? We knew that.
And we all know that Tom Brady is going to continue to be special.
And if you're one of the idiots burning the Brady jersey, or if you're one of the people constantly talking bad about him, or if you're now sitting on a perch screaming about Jimmy friggin G, you don't deserve Tom Brady.
You don't deserve the Patriots.
You don't deserve any of the success they've had or will have moving forward into the future.
The New England Patriots made the right decision, keeping the six time Super Bowl champion and the goats of the National Football League.
Garoppolo is good.
Tom Brady is great.
And even if he brought even if he left the Patriots this season, he brought us the two Super Bowl since Jimmy Garoppolo was traded away.
To put that into perspective for you, the last time the Detroit Lions won a playoff game was in 1991.
And yet Tom Brady bought brought the Patriots to three straight Super Bowls.
Two of those without Jimmy G backing him up.
The Patriots made the right decision, and there's nothing that anybody can say that's gonna make me change my mind.
Who now? We could be looking at a different Patriots team next season? You could, and there's a lot of different things that can happen.
And if the Patriots bring back Devin McCourty because he came out today and he said that retirement is not an option.
What you can't look at a news article related to the New England Patriots without seen at least 10 stories related to Tom Brady's upcoming free agency.
But I think sometimes we need to remember that the Patriots also have other marquee free agents, and they're gonna need to consider re signing those guys going forward.
Some of those names are big names, too.
That includes guys like they're left guard Joe Juni.
You have a couple of linebackers Kyle van annoying Jamie Collins.
You got special teammates Matthew Slater.
He's a free agent and he's also considering retirement.
Then, of course, you have a team captain, a Pro Bowler.
Our safety Devin McCourty.
He's also out there looking for a new contract now, W b said. Four.
CBS BOSTON They put out a report that says Devin McCourty isn't even considering retirement and would like to continue playing football.
Of course, the question is, does Devin McCourty finished his career with the New England Patriots, or will he be looking elsewhere? Here's what his agent had to say.
So Devin McCourty wants to keep it.
His NFL career going.
The 32 year old safety will be back for at least an 11th season in 2020 time, will tell if it's with the New England Patriots or if McCord, he will continue his career with a new franchise.
He wants the play.
McCord is agent Andy, Sims said.
And that's what he told my crease.
Idiots PM Retirement is not an option.
Look, obviously, Devin McCourty has been a huge part of the Patriots Super Bowl winning teams since the Patriots drafted him with the 27th overall pick back in 2010.
But at 32 years old and in the twilight of his career, the question has to be asked how much money will he be demanding? And how much time will Bill Belichick be willing to invest into an aging corner or an agent safety That also makes you wonder what the Patriots are gonna look like in 2020.
There isn't a whole lot of money left to spend, And there are a lot of familiar faces and staples of this team that will probably be moving on when free agency starts in just a couple of months.
No, look with his five year uh, no. The McCord.
He just finished a $47.
5 million contract, and McCord is gonna become a free agent on March 18th.
The Patriots could come to an agreement with their long time defensive captain before that day, but the team has a bevy of free agents I gotta sign this winter.
The Patriots are projected to have $28 million in salary cap space, but Brady is expected to take up a majority of that figure should he sign.
And when you look at teams like the Miami Dolphins, who have roughly $90 million in salary cap, or even like the New York Giants, who have 60 million, both those teams with former Patriots assistance coaching them.
They may be able to convince McCord he to finish his career outside of New England.
And if McCord he did move on from New England.
I see that is one of the most devastating moves of the off season.
Unfortunately, I don't know if I see a solution.
I expect Devon according to Garner, a lot of attention on the open market, and I'm not sure the Patriots would be able or want to match some of the offers that he's going to get from other teams.
And I don't know if McCord he would be willing to take a hometown discount to stay in New England.
Devon's twin brother, Jason, will still be under contract with the Patriots, but I've said it before.
I feel like there's a very real possibility that Belichick will release him and save the four million and cap space.
And if that happens, the Patriots can't rely on Devin wanting to continue playing with his brother.
And I can't help but wonder if we've seen the end of Devin McCourty in New England.
Now my opinion Devin McCourty is still playing at high levels this season, to defend it.
Five passes, he holding five interceptions.
He's the quarterback of the defense.
And if his time is really over in New England, man, the pages that have a lot to figure out defensively in 2020 and I'm not entirely sure how they're gonna do it.
And that's kind of it for my Patriots contact for the night.
So I appreciate everybody who tuned in to This is my patron contact.
It's now time for my newest session, called the Gridiron Rant, where I chill out and talk about the New England Patriots I talk about right now.
I don't talk about the New England Patriots I talk about.
I talk about stories around the NFL story, guys, I'm I'm going nuts here.
Yeah, man, we're gonna come in.
We're gonna talk about some of the bigger stories happen around the NFL, and it's also up on my other YouTube channel known as the Gridiron Ran.
So people who just want to hear about football can go over there and just hear about football and given by my ****ytics.
A lot of people aren't watching my videos this long, so there's a lot of you who started watching this video in watching now, so hopefully you'll go over.
You start watching the gridiron rant, so we'll see what happens from there.
What? Eli Manning has decided to walk away from the NFL with one of the most impressive, an unimpressive careers.
He finishes his career, ranks seventh all time in passing yards and passing touchdowns.
Manning is also 10th all time and game winning drives.
He won two Super Bowls with the Giants, beating the New England Patriots both times and securing Super Bowl M V P's both games.
The New York Giants CEO John Marsh showed appreciation for Eli and how he represented the Giants franchise.
Quote for 16 seasons, Eli Manning to find what it is to be in New York giant both on and off the field.
Eli is our only two time Super Bowl M V P, and one of the very best players in our franchise is history.
He represented our franchise as a consummate professional with dignity.
Excuse me with dignity and accountability.
It went something.
It meant something to Eli, to be a Giants quarterback, and I meant even it meant even more to us.
We're beyond grateful for his contributions to our organization and look forward to celebrating his induction into the Giants Ring of Honor in the near future.
And you know, guys, really, The writing was on the wall for Eli Manning this season.
You lost the starting job to rookie Daniel Jones, and even though Eli handled himself with absolute class but even said near the end of the year and of the season, he had no interest in plain as a backup quarterback.
Now, Eli, you got a whole lot of outcry today in support from the Giants organization.
The chairman and executive vice president, Steve Roach, touch base on what type of person Eli Waas roots.
Ah, Roach touched on Allies.
Selfishness, selflessness, not roads. Tous.
Why am I saying Roach Tish? And that Eli was always driven to do? It was best for the Giants.
We're proud to have called Eli Manning our quarterback for so many years.
Eli was driven to always do what was best for the team.
Eli leaves a timeless legacy with two Super Bowl titles on the field and his philanthropically work off the fields which has inspired in impacted so many people.
We're sincerely thankful for everything that Eli has given to our team and community.
And he will always be a giant amongst Giants, all right.
You know, sometimes coaches and great coordinate our great coordinators, but it just doesn't always work out when there had coaches.
And that's exactly the case when it comes to Jay Gruden.
But just because you couldn't cut it as a head coach doesn't mean you could.
You don't deserve another opportunity in the NFL.
In a few months after being fired, the Jacksonville Jaguars have hired former Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden as their offensive coordinator, the team announced on Wednesday.
Now, after becoming head coach, Gruden never gave up control of his offense.
He called place throughout his whole tenure with the Redskins, and prior to taking the job with Washington, Gruden was the offensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Now, Gruden's time with Washington guys was absolutely miserable.
Ah, he took over as the Redskins coach in 2014 and he held on to that position until he was fired from Washington when his team went on five to start this 2019 season.
His record with the Redskins is 30 5 49 and one, and that was just not nearly good enough to get him any special accolades as I had coach or even let him keep his job.
And considering that he controlled his own offense, who were often the problem, I wasn't sure if you would ever get another opportunity in the NFL.
Jacksonville Lee began their search for a new offensive coordinator after firing John De Filippo at the end of the season.
The Jaguars had coach Doug Marone.
He's heading into his most important season of his career.
Jacksonville went six and 10 and 2019.
They traded away their best player in Jalen Ramsey, and Nick Fools is the most expensive bench warmer in the NFL.
But Jacksonville owner Shad Khan decided to have faith in his coach and gave him 1/4 season as the Jaguars coach.
And Marone is going to be hopeful that Gruden brings some sort of spark to the offense.
Otherwise, I think it clean sweep after this season would not be surprising at all.
And lastly, to finish off my day and finish off my night.
No, the New Orleans Saints in the New England Patriots.
We're fans and we actually have something in common.
Tom Brady and Drew Brees are too high profile free agents.
And even though the Patriots don't know exactly what Bill Bella checks plan is, according to the New Orleans Saints, if Drew Brees wants to keep playing football, then the Saints want him to be their quarterback.
On Wednesday, States general manager ****ey Loomis said the Saints approach the Breezes.
Future is no different than it has been the last few years, according to ESPN Mike Triplet.
Loomis said that quote, It's easy to take him for granted, yet I don't take him for granted.
Breezes, the NFL's all time leading passer, are passing yards and touchdowns and just like Tom Brady's Contract breeze contract will automatically void March 18th.
And both future Hall of Famers will be free to negotiate with anything that they want.
But Brees, whose 41 years old now he did show a little bit of decline in 2019.
But he's still playing at very high levels and it looked like Breeze season was going to end early with the thumb injury against the Los Angeles Rams.
But he ended up only missing five games and breeze was still able to put up some defense decent numbers.
He threw for 27 passing touchdowns and led the league and completion percentage was 74.3%.
This was also the third season in a row that Breeze was the NFL's most accurate passer.
Now Loomis has a lot of faith in his aging quarterback scene.
Look, if any of us air surprised at what he does, then we're just not very smart.
Unfortunately, the Saints have the sixth lowest amount of available cap space entering the off season, and that could cause some issues of Drew.
Believe Bree's believes he's still deserving of top dollar.
Retaining Breeze will be a very, very difficult task for the Saints, who still need to sign cornerback Marshawn Lattimore and running back Alvin Kamara.
And guys, The landscape of the NFL is changing.
There was once a time that Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers were all battling it out to see who was the best quarterback in the league.
Now paint retired.
Rogers doesn't look as really Breeze and Brady are in their forties, and now the battle seems to be between Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson and DeShaun Watson as we officially kind of changed the era in the NFL.
It is what it is, I guess.
But it's it's the truth.
It's an absolute truth.
And guys with all that being said, I'm sorry.
I have to call it a night.
Mike Jaw is killing me.
I had a root c**** today and it took a lot to get through this.
Thank you so much for tuning into my show here on DP and sports talk.
I really, really appreciate it.
I hope you all will come out any day of the week.
Come chill with me. I'm here every night at 10 p.m.
Thank you so much for just being a great audience, man.
Enjoying your patriots and enjoying my show.
And I love being up here on sports star on SportsCastr with you.
And I love all of you who tune into me on on YouTube.
And it wasn't for all of you guys and passed nations and football fans all over the NFL.
I would just be a big fat Patriots fan sitting at home screaming into a microphone with nobody listening.
And I appreciate for that with all that being said, guys take care.
