the Kansas City pre game for the NFC championship.
So I want to talk about the meeting that they had earlier in the season.
So the Titans came up on top and nail biter 35 to 32.
But I said this before I said it for when the Chiefs were playing the Texans.
This isn't the same defense that they face.
So weeks 11 through 17 this team has been significantly different.
Uh, they're actually allowing 14 points a game, compared to 24 points a game.
Uh, they're only allowing 95 rush yards to compare Thio 148 and the Rolling allowing opponent passer rating of 69 compared to what they were allowing at 93.
So all these numbers are significantly different.
Obviously, Derrick Henry is an absolute monster, and it's gonna be hard toe stop him.
But like I said, this team, this chief's defense is a little bit different.
So there it's gonna be, ah, harder test for the Titans than it was in Week 10.
So I'm just kind of gonna compare like teams like talk about times a little bit and then talk about the Chiefs and kinda then give the keys to the game.
So the Times are actually one of the most unexpected teams in the playoffs right now, we're, like, over the 60.
They're probably gonna lose to the Patriots.
They're probably, you know, Oh, they beat the Patriots.
They're definitely gonna lose to the Ravens.
Well, that didn't happen.
They're the Cinderella team this year.
So if they actually had a beating Chiefs, this is gonna be the 1st 60 toe make it to the Super Bowl since the 2010 Packers.
So the times didn't start off very well.
They started to and for my best friend's boyfriend is actually a Titan's fan.
And I talked to him quite a bit about the Italians and their seasons and what he thinks is gonna happen and all this stuff.
And he's like Savannah.
I'm tired of these eight and 89 and seven seasons were just mediocre.
We're never bad enough.
Have you know, a top five top, even top 10 picks.
So we can, like improve our team, but we never make it far in the playoffs.
We just we were mediocre, and he's tired of it.
He wants marry 02 gone.
He doesn't think that the he's like, good for the team.
They need somebody else to come in and step up.
And if that means drafting quarterback, then that means drafting a quarterback.
Well, after the two and four start, they burned the bench Mariota, and they brought in Tana Hell and this team completely turned it around.
They were no longer this mediocre two and four team, and they made it for the succeed in the playoffs.
They beat the Patriots.
They completely took out the They completely took out the Ravens, and now they're gonna be facing a really good electric Chiefs offense.
So there Henry has been phenomenal.
He's averaging 100 a little over 188 yards per game in the playoffs, and then and Week 10 versus the chief's.
He had 188 yards to touchdown and two touchdowns and Week 10.
So I'm thinking all he's averaging 188 yards and in the playoffs, and then he had 180 yards against the Chiefs.
So now he's probably gonna brush for just about about the same amount.
But like I said, this is a difference Chiefs defense, So I'm not really sure you'll actually get up that high.
I definitely think that he's gonna rush for over 100 yards, probably around like 1 40 I'm this guy's a monster and he's almost absolutely impossible to stop.
The times offensive line has gotten really good lately, and that's ah lot of the reason why Derrick Henry husband will do that because he finds these gaps and they create these holes for him that he could just burst through.
So Tana has had less than 100 yards passing over the last two games.
You know, the wildcard ground in the divisional round.
I definitely think that passing the ball a little bit more is gonna help this offense.
I know Derrick Henry is carrying it, but I think that if they were to get more into the passing game and get that, uh, step it up a little bit of passing him, it would definitely help their offense, especially taking on the chief's defense.
Brown has done phenomenal.
He's definitely up for our offensive rookie of the year.
I'm not necessarily sure if he went, if we'll win but out in the second half of the season, his name has just come out of everybody's mouth like that.
He's something gonna win.
He's, you know, he's the best rookie out there and I mean, he's He did great.
He had 52 receptions for 1000 and 51 yards and eight touchdowns this season, but he kinda hasn't really been a factor in the A J.
Brown only had one reception for four yards against New England and one reception for nine yards against Baltimore.
So getting a Z Brown core, devious ties and sharp getting all these people involved is definitely gonna help the Titan.
So then, if we move on to the Chiefs, you gotta think any read okay? He's this great head coach and he wins during the regular season, and then he doesn't when in the postseason.
It's kind of weird.
He's this great coach.
He actually has 207 wins, which is the most in the regular season for any head coach that hasn't won a Super Bowl.
But he's won five in championship games, So I want to say it's coaching.
I want to say it's, you know It's the chief's defense, but I don't really know what it is like.
Obviously, I'm never gonna say it's the Chiefsoffense because they're just absolutely electric, and you re just doesn't seem to be able to pull off any of these winds in the postseason.
And I don't know why, but ah, I feel like there's hesitation towards his playoff record.
I mean, this this team this year is just a completely different, you know, more electric.
They have a better defense.
Uh, they're like, Oh, because they have Patrick Mahomes and they could do it.
But yet they lost last year to New England in the championship round at home.
So Andy Reid definitely needs to figure something out to be able to get this championship one.
So he can, you know, be two and five instead of one in five.
So the honey Badger you know, uh, he came from the Texans.
He's doing really well for the Chiefs.
He actually I think he fits in really well.
Here I find was gonna the Texans, and now I think he is even better at the chief's.
He blitzes, he reads the quarterback's eyes.
He's ableto take out the first target.
He's able to take up the second target.
He's really amped up this defense.
He's really helped turn this defense into what it is today.
So the chief's actually fell 24 20 down 24 to in the divisional round against the Texans.
And I'm sitting here like, Oh my God, it's over.
Like I cannot believe this.
I pick the Chiefs.
I cannot believe the Texans are blowing them out like this.
And then they failed to convert on fourth down and the Chiefs get the the Chiefs get the first touchdown And I'm like, Oh, never mind.
The Chiefs are winning like they're often, too, so Oh, absolutely electric that when they score like that, they're going to continue to score.
It's just they were, have they? You know Petra Holmes was overthrowing.
They had a couple of drops.
They weren't converting on third down.
This team just looked off the first quarter and then by the half they were up 22 24.
So it just shows.
It just goes to show you have great this offenses and Tommy Kill even knows that He came out and said that you know, people can't guard us.
They can't stop our offense, especially, can't guard me.
And he's probably right.
I mean, people literally call him and Cheetah for a reason.
He's probably the fastest receiver in the NFL.
He's a little bit shorter.
Be has he has a great bird alike and jump up and get balls That veteran home throws over all these taller corners and safeties and defensive backs and stuff like that.
So So Patrick Jones actually doesn't have any interceptions in the playoffs, which doesn't shock me.
But the way that he, like, likes to throw the ball up and do like the big plays and stuff.
I thought it does Sharpe me, but it doesn't.
So he has over 100 pass attempts in the playoffs without an interception.
The lights you want to say, like the lights of the playoffs are not too much for Patrick Mahomes.
The handle. He proved it last year.
Obviously, he didn't get the ball in the overtime against the Patriots.
That wasn't his fault.
But if you would have been the ball back, I'm pretty sure that the Chiefs would have won because of how well he plays The postseason is a different story for a lot of quarterbacks.
They am of their game and everything.
But Petra Mahomes looks the same as he does in the regular season.
He's just as good as Justice Electric.
He can maneuver out of the pocket.
He can throw these like crazy passes that most quarterbacks couldn't that you would just be like.
How did he even get away without, like, how did he do that? So they're definitely not gonna let that happen again.
They don't want to get to the point where it's over time and Patrick Holmes isn't gonna get the ball because they have the balls.
And this game it's over.
Like Patrick Mahomes will score the winning touchdown or get them into the range of field goal world blowin.
So I was watching Good morning football a couple days ago, though, and one of the host need Burlison.
I actually made a really good point, he said.
Just because you can put up points doesn't mean that you can win, and you want to know why that resonated with me so much because the Titans can put up points to I mean Derrick Henry is a monster.
He runs, you know, almost 200 yards a game and then put him in position to score touchdown.
He's thrown a touchdown pass.
Tina has thrown bombs so far like 40 50 yard touchdowns already this season are in the off season postseason, so they can score points, too.
They can do it through the air, they can do it through the ground, and the Chiefs can really on Lee do it through the air like they don't have this monster running back like the Titans, due to be ableto, you know, have a running game and have a good passing game.
So for me, in the case of the game, actually really come all on defense for both sides.
So when it comes to the Titans, you definitely have to keep the homes in the pocket.
He is a great scrambler.
He makes plays out of absolutely nothing.
So if you keep him in the pocket and you get him under pressure, he's going to get to the point where he doesn't really know what to do.
Like I said, he doesn't throw interceptions in the playoffs, but he always is able to scramble out of the pocket.
He's always able to create these plays.
So if you limit that if you limit the big plays, then you definitely have a chance, because then they're definitely gonna try to run the ball in.
Like I said, they're not a huge running team.
And you also have to keep Kelsey and check.
Everyone saw how good he was against the Texans.
The re touchdowns.
I believe it's there.
He's absolutely electric.
He is the reason why this offense is so amazing.
Besides Patrick Mahomes, he is an all around great tight end.
Obviously, he's more receiving Titan, then a blocking tight end like it'll is.
But Kelsey is phenomenal, and he will be, too, so quick.
So ce is he will.
He will annihilate you, so you have to keep him in check.
If you don't keep him and check the game's over, there's just no possible way that the times they're gonna come out with the win, no matter how many points that they could score, and the Chiefs the only thing for me really is too slow down. Derrick Henry.
I mean, they're like I said 10 all hasn't thrown over 100 yards in the postseason yet, so they're gonna try to get the passing in going.
But King Henry is the reason why this team is where they are, so you have to limit him.
You can't just allow almost 200 yards rushing.
It's kind of gonna be like if they don't slow down.
If they don't sort of Chelsea for the cheese, you don't slow down Derrick Henry, you don't have a chance.
He's gonna run all over.
He's gonna run straight down your throat, and he is literally gonna be the reason why they went and the Chiefs are gonna fall apart.
So both teams are hot right now.
Obviously, the chief's coming off of that comeback win against the Texans and then the Titans, completely beating the Patriots and then beating up the Ravens.
So a fun fact for you.
Tennessee is only the third team since the merger in 1970 to take down the league's number one scoring defense and number one scoring offense in the same post season.
That, like think about that number one scoring defense, number one scoring offense, the fact that they were even able to do this blows my mind.
So, I mean, I have to go with my gut here.
You know, they took down 2018 M V P.
They took down possibly 2000 twenties M v p.
And then they're about to face 2000 the current 2019 M v. P.
I mean, I have to go with my gut on this one.
As much as I want to see the chief's, I'm gonna have to go with the Titans.
I think that Derrick Henry is gonna be too much for this defense.
I think that they're gonna be able to keep up with the Chief's Chiefs are having electric offense, but Henry causes creates an electric offense with the Titans. They're strong.
They're heights up.
You know, they're the 60 that no one really thought that they were gonna be here.
They probably everyone thought that they were gonna lose to the Patriots.
Then they didn't.
Everyone thought they were gonna lose the Baltimore and then they did it.
They are the Cinderella team, and I am picking them to go to the Super Bowl and win the NFC championship.
So since both of these teams are Electric.
I'm going to say it's more of a higher scoring game.
I know that the defense looked really good against Baltimore, but I think it's gonna be more of like a shootout, offensive game, whoever scores the most points.
So I'm gonna go with the Titans on this game, and I have them picked to win 37 31.
I think that this is gonna be a really good game, but I think Henry is just gonna take over.
I think they are going to get the passing game a little going.
But to me, Henry just too much, he's proven it.
He's literally proven it.
So the Chiefs aren't ready.
Not not to be in the Super Bowl.
They're just not ready for Derrick Henry.
So I think that he's gonna take over this game and I think he's gonna help the Titans make it to the Super Bowl this year.
So thank you for joining me when it comes to this role, whoever makes it in, I will definitely be doing another SportsCastr on that.
So I hope you join me then.
