Nick's family was popping Is your boy and we are here for Episode two or the second show off Nick's Weekly and thank you for joining me.
It's a very brand new show, so you know, there's a lot to do here, but it's a good show.
And today we're gonna, you know, recap everything that's going on in in the week of the Knicks.
We're gonna start with the games.
We talk about some games in a week or they gave me the week the player of the week.
We'll talk about some news and rumors.
And then, of course, we'll go over.
Uh, what is the play of the week, ladies and gentlemen.
All right, I got my man.
Isaiah here with me is gonna talk, you know, right now he's he's working, but, you know, sneaking around.
So, uh, if he has to, he'll jump off so he could do whatever he has to do.
But I say is joining us and joining in with us, and it's gonna be Ah, it's gonna be pretty cool.
Ladies and gentlemen, so is my man has a right there as a It was popping with you, bro.
Oh, hold on one second.
Yeah, I had your beauty.
It was going on.
Everybody was all shot to the chap.
Like it's time You already know what's going on.
Sam, how you doing today? I'm good, man. I'm good.
Um, hopefully we're going to get some more people join us.
You know, usually you know Andy, you know, he's over in where he is polling or whatever.
Yes, hopefully he can get in on the show.
But look, man in Nick's, it kind of had a rough week.
You know, if you think about the week, obviously last night we got the win last night.
We'll talk about that a little bit later.
But we had a rough week When you talk about when you think about the next Yeah, it was really a rough umm you know, one does and I don't see out of the West Coast.
Tricks in the last couple of years has been a good one.
Just listen to the the competitiveness for most of the games.
I really do for, like, finish game.
We let we let that one go clippers game. We should have won.
Um, what really got blow? Yes.
Oh, so defend While Phoenix and Clippers were kind of last week, you know, But like, this week really started with the Lakers? Yeah, the Lakers game.
You know, clean.
I think a lot of us came into that one thing like you know you to be, Um we will be fine, you know? But, you know, I find we competed for a little while then, you know, got away from us.
Um, but, I mean, we competed for the most part, aren't they? Certainly got his groove back this week, which was exciting.
I was I was waiting for that to come.
Um, you got his groove back a little bit.
Oh, lot of please.
The great Frank played great this week because he didn't play yesterday.
Always been playing better than you know what, man? I can't lie, man.
Ah, if we miss Julius little bit, which is that I never thought I would say that. Busy with his Jews.
A little bit busy, we got without surprised to fail.
But, you know, did I under Mike Miller, he's been better.
So it's been a crazy week.
Yeah, we definitely Miss Julius Randle this week, man.
Um, definitely Miss Julius Randle this week, You know, now let's talk about that Leaguers game.
Because that leaguers gain was that was probably the worst game of the trip for me.
That was the worst kind.
You know, we, uh I don't know, man.
It was, um We were just overmatched.
No matter what, you go about it, we would just straight up overmatched.
And what you could tell what you could really tell with that Lakers game is you know that the Knicks are playing with young players, right? The Knicks are playing with guys at a 25 and under.
You know, obviously we didn't have Julius Randle.
We didn't have Marcus Morris, but you could really see that we're playing with young guys and the Lakers were playing with men grown men, you know? Yeah, man, that that was you.
You said you said that.
You said that's what you could.
I mean, just looking.
No, the Lakers are beginning to really talk about it like this.
The Lakers are playing early nineties early 2000 style of basketball.
No one's really talking about it like that that their plane, they've only got, like one or two shooters.
Everything else is just big men, you know, in size.
Like if the Villagers and this was the Lakers and like the mid 2000 and their hearts that easily wanted easily won a championship.
But since it's such a perimeter league right now, then then actually, the full favorites, the winner.
But, man, that that team was huge.
It's like you take out Campanini Davis, who still got several McGee.
Take out General McGee still got the White House you take on the White House.
Would you go back to Anthony Davis? I mean, since they have interchangeable big men in L. A.
Yeah, you know, it is just as in the playoffs, I'm telling you, the Lakers were gonna be I hate to say it because I just ate the Fanboys.
He no Laker fans in the distal spoiled because they can't survive six years of nine moments of players.
They've been crying for six years, and I'm not going to the playoffs, you know.
But other than that man, the Lakers, man, when you get to the playoffs, um, they're gonna be hard, because besides, just rebounding this over that they're gonna win a couple of city.
Just offer rebounded, get crucial.
That's gonna be a little different story when it comes to lay it down.
But they're going to be a problem in this size is unbelievable.
Yeah, definitely. This size, their sizes.
I mean, every time we try to penetrate to the lean, it was just arms and hands everywhere.
So you know that.
What? That was a tough game force.
We're gonna get a chance to see him again, right? See if we can have a better performance against the Lakers.
You know, if we will be able to have a better performance against the Lakers, Um, but we'll get a chance to see him again and see if we, you know, see if we could do something a little bit better, because that was definitely that was definitely a tough game.
Um, that was a tough game, you know, me.
So I'll say this too, with that.
Look, you really disappointed me, Sin.
And this was on the Knicks was that they just showed the low best people like you that game that was a very low, like a very low basketball I Q game for the next.
They're talking about Bobby porters do, being an idiot the whole game.
Kevin, I didn't know what was going on.
It's just low blow basketball acute throughout the whole game to the next players, which really ****ed me off that game, too.
I'm watching the game and I was texting Guillermo.
I'm just like, you know, we're just doing stupid ish the whole game, these stupid things.
Um, like how many? I think so many times they just like, let like they wouldn't fight over screens.
That is, let LeBron have open shots.
But yes, I know, I know.
That's the one thing you want.
Libano due out of all the things is let him shoot.
But listen, man the duke and still make shots.
It's like people that they were just like, just like Oh, just shoot labarre.
It was very low, very low, like you in that game.
I will say this.
I will say this.
The one thing with the Lakers is Anthony Davis, Dwight Howard, Javale McGee.
They all set very good screens of what you saw is that the next continuously got caught on screens and I'm saying they just continues, got caught on screens.
And you know what money is in.
The people don't get credit for it.
That what we would like.
I understand the history of the White House.
I don't think that's a four time try to play every year.
Don't don't disrespect, dude.
I know he's well, you know, I don't know.
He's a mean, our all that extra funny stuff that would have that.
That dude is seriously still smart like you playing.
And he won four different planes of the year and is a game changer defensively.
Don't ever get that twisted.
It is people from good people.
People forget that about the white Howard man.
They just, you know, like again, you know, we live in his hair where he's a mean now so that your butt, that dude is still a problem.
And I was It makes you get mad because of ah saying I'm not saying the Knicks were thinking about the White House, but they could have got the warehouse cheap.
But sheep? Yeah, I mean, I mean, they could have they could you know, I guess.
I understood the thinking behind it.
Right, But they could have gotten Dwight Howard for cheap.
You know, I think he probably some of the Lakers for the vet minimum.
I'm assuming I think, like, brilliantly, You probably, you know, probably signed for the minimum.
Um, but, you know, all right, you had Marcus Morris, right? You got ties, Gibson.
Uh, you know, looking at the history of Dwight Howard, I don't think the White House the kind of guy that you wanna have as one of the leaders of your team, you know, saying he's in a good situation in l.
Because LeBron James is the leader of the team, he doesn't have to be, um, you know, Dwight Howard doesn't have to be the the guy, you know? I'm saying, 01 of the main guys he can kind of He could just be a role player.
Whatever he gets, he gets, you know, saying so it doesn't have to be that, um you know that there's not that much pressure on Dwight Howard.
All right, so the next you know, they got blown out by the Lakers.
It was easy game for the Los Angeles Lakers, and you can look up here on you and you can see the Knicks got beat, 1 17 the 87 against the Los Angeles Lakers.
And ah, that game, ladies and gentlemen, was just was just bad for the Knicks.
It was just bad for the Knicks.
And then we get to the Utah Jazz, and that game was just as bad, in my opinion, right? The best thing about the Utah Jazz game in the Knicks was when Frank Miller Kina did a little fake pass and laid it up for Lay up.
I think he got fouled on the players as well.
That was the best thing about that Utah Jazz game.
Everything else was terrible.
The Utah Jazz killed this in the paint all night long.
Don't after Don't got the dunk, guys.
Just penetrating past, uh, the Knicks.
Barrett, all of them Reggie Bullock.
Hey said, You know what ****es me off about that game? The Muslim was that both? What ****ed me off about this game again? This is probably have to do with parts of having low basketball. I Q.
And you know, I was laughing So I was lucky.
Game up in our seven gamble that game too, was that Ah, I'm surprised that Princeton called in that night the prince and call in your show because of up, Goto made your movie a plate.
And like the prints.
I'm surprised he didn't call it.
Send it to the prince of the West, my man, but it ****ed me off with a mirror.
You'll move here because I'm like, there's people on the team that played with Manuel.
These people don't know what he does and what he can and what he doesn't.
If they're not to exploit that, then that's like, you know, I know people could say he's probably changed in a year.
Yeah, that's true.
He couldn't change.
But the fact that the main movies not a good defender, you know, still, I mean, he did finish in the room, which where was his last year? Um, I was just like, man, can we exploit the guys that we know that little you on the team last year and we can exploit his weakness is like, no one could take advantage of that And we had this do like he I think he's 20 points, right.
It's on that or you Square like a good game.
Had a good game, manually, had a gun.
And I'm just like I'm like, Yo, the dude doesn't play defense.
Do the death. He doesn't eat.
He started out a good defender, Monty, and still not explained that you have a guy that let me play for you last year that you know his engine out.
Mostly if you play with him, you mostly knows about the late taking members of that.
Anything like, you know, this week again, e don't next year.
Remember last night? I said, You know, I want to run this team back, but I forgot to add that, like this year, man, we next year this next year coming up a free agency man said.
We we gotta get guys that just defended three point because the next they just act like we're playing in the nineties.
Basketball when nobody shoots threes like the way they play defense against three just is just so unbelievable to me that it just baffles my mind of like how we could just like, let's shoot her shoot like you letting Joe English shoot the stock.
One of his guys shoot, I might do.
We got to get do that's gonna fight over the screens and close out on shoes because it is just ridiculous.
Off this whole year, we was let people shoot.
You didn't shoot you in this life, Tend like they're not going to make him like it.
Suhani Players like I don't know what's going on with that.
Well, one of the things is this.
The Knicks are so worried about the paint sometimes and and, of course, this last week, Um, you know, they didn't do.
We didn't defend the paint.
They didn't defended three point line, right? They didn't do it, either one, But they're so worried about the paint they get.
They get caught so deep into the paint, and then they're not able to recover and get back to the person that the defendant I'll get back to the person who's, um you know who's who's free, right? Or the rotation.
You know, the rotations don't work, you know? So that becomes that always becomes a problem, you know, And part of the reason why they're always, um, always given up, given up those open three point baskets, right? So it gets the Utah Jazz when you look at the Utah Jazz against Nix, Um I mean, they killed us to keep this inside, right.
The jazz shot 54.
4% from the field.
They made 16 or 43 3 pointers and to be ours with you even last night against the Miami Heat.
We're gonna talk about that game.
Of course, they gave up a lot of three point shots.
You know, I'm saying, um, it's one of the things that the natives really have to work on.
They really have to work on finding a way to defend that three point line.
And, of course, it killed this last week.
Um, and it's going to probably, um, kill us in the future.
You know what I'm saying? That's just, you know, that's just what it is with the Knicks.
Williams in the chat said that that was the highlight of Emmanuelle movies year.
It may have been the highlight of his year.
To be honest with you, we'll see you, said Moody AM I wanted to get back at the Knicks for not signing the back.
Um, maybe, You know, maybe he did. I don't know.
It's hard to say, but maybe he didn't want to get back at the Knicks.
Or maybe he's just I mean, I'm sure somewhere in there he had some motivation to try to get back at the Knicks.
Right, Um, if it's a place that you want to stay, and then they went and they sign elfin Peyton, you know me.
Um and to be honest with Jesus player, that's probably not doing it was a better defended in Emmanuel Moody, right? So, yeah.
So the Knicks got blasted by the Utah Jazz, and then they came home opens.
It'll cover, and they played better.
They played better versus the New Orleans pelicans.
All right, so that they did.
They played better against the pelicans for 3/4 and losing the game by 12.
Do you? That game made me mad, too.
With pistol again, I go back to the lack of this close and not on shooters like my thing is, man, we Well, you're not Lonzo ball shooting threes, man.
Listen, I know he's gonna tear right now, but when you got that Jewish making the truth three it's a problem.
So this socially with the defense is going and then, like no people don't pay.
That ****ed me off.
****ed me off was when, uh, I don't remember what the That next challenge is the foul off from found Jewish railing Ingram.
But he it was like he didn't find him on the three and make bring with fake God.
I hope the next don't give over three.
What do we do? We want a challenge and gave him three.
Alright, Right, that that ****ed me off so that I was like, Come on, guys, we literally just won.
The challenge awaits the time That rhythm, but you guys is to not close on the shooters and then a three.
Anyway, I'm this life person that, um that may be mad, but I also know something that game.
Really? Really, really maybe say, I hope the pelicans watch Brandon Ingram.
I don't you with you because you because you know, because you know they didn't extend him.
That didn't extend them when they had a chance.
They pick up his fourth year option so he's going to still be restricted free Asian.
But, man Sam, I just hope they be, like, nowhere.
We can't pay fines over.
What is? I'm just hoping some because this kid right here said this Do if he got on the Knicks and I know it was a long shot, it's probably not gonna happen, Man.
This kid with him, r j and and whatever pick me getting you're talking about a serious foundation.
That's not necessary.
But I'll tell you what, but I'm gonna tell you what if they have to choose between Lonzo ball Oh, hey, Okay, You already know who they're choosing, you know, so you already know would choose it.
But I looked at these games, so I'm like, this kid can do it all.
And it was like you've seen it last year with him.
What, you didn't see with him abroad? Because what we know how LeBron Lexus plays around in a B.
We all know he likes place to be.
He doesn't really like a you know that we relate that type of play that ah Brandon equal. Ms.
He doesn't play well with those.
But this do Manson.
I'm watching this guy.
He could get anywhere he wants.
And I remember like I always sometimes I'm gonna like somebody I don't like when players like work easily this compare them.
Saw stars be more realist.
I've compared him to do that in the lead.
Well, when they compared to do the Kevin Durant, I think everybody's seen it now.
Yeah, okay, everybody's everybody's seen it now.
It was always there, but people that, you know, people like the hype of rookies wouldn't like, you know, the comments of the year, This do, man, that that dude is serious and I'm just like you and the pelicans be dysfunctional and just messed him up.
You don't get something a lot and just makes us come in and get that guy.
That dude is only 22 so this guy's gonna I know you don't be EVP one day, but the e might lead Oh, I mean, he might be the kid.
The kid is nice.
I would love to have Brandon Ingram on his team.
Obviously, I don't think that's going to happen.
I think the pelicans understand what they have in Brandon Ingram, but I love the had.
I love to have him on this team, you know? I mean, you know, he's he's definitely nice.
Is that is on the rise.
And he's about to meet again.
Yeah, you know, uh, look, let's hope that R.
J can become He's not gonna ever play like Brandon Ingram, but because, you know, what I'm saying against the Palace is Look, the Knicks played better against the pelicans.
Go right? We've only played better now.
We lost, You know, we lost the game down the stretch in the fourth quarter.
You know, we allow them to build a big double digit lead.
18 point lead, But we played better.
Our big Achilles hill and the Pelicans game was three point shooting on both sides of the ball.
We couldn't hated three point shot.
We were 5 to 27 we let them shoot 47.
4% from three point shot is gonna get killed from that from that three point line, you know, I mean, once again, we were killed from the three point line.
Um, Dee Williams brings up a good point.
You said, look how Look how long it took for Brandy Williams.
Brandon Ingram to develop? Yes.
He said, uh, you know, can we give my knots that much time? I agree.
I agree wholeheartedly.
Would you t Williams? Yes, You know it.
You look up, you know, look at the amount of time it took for him to develop, and we're worried about a year and 1/2 right now.
You had better averages, the knocks.
You know what I'm saying? He had better averages, didn't Ox in his rookie year his sop****re year.
But I get what you're saying.
We're not expecting Knox to be that, but who knows what nots could be? We just don't give up time, but not splayed.
Well, last night, you say something, Something to that yet.
So there's nothing with Knox.
Here's my whole heartedly thing with Knox that it upset gives me mad with it because yeah, and I hope you can agree with this, but he doesn't score.
What does he provide you? That's the part.
Would Knox Okay, I get better.
That's the park.
Gives me upset win because look on.
And I'm not saying that him and Frank are the same, but Alicia at the evident that you could say what you wanted about Frank about him scoring him, not being aggressive at the end of the day.
If you broke everything down, you knew if he wasn't gonna give him scoring, he's gonna give you defense.
But when it comes to knock, that makes me mad.
Is that and he doesn't score? He doesn't do anything else that provides anything positive to the game.
He's very, very, very, very bad on defense.
He he just lets his players blood blow blind.
It does stupid fouls it just anger me because I like nuts, I wonder, like Knox.
But when it just come to him that doing anything else in the game besides going that's what I have a problem with, at least you know, with B I b.
I was Was he the best of a man of work? I don't really reminded much like you what he he's So he's not going to be just not doing anything but want to come to Kevin.
Knox is just He doesn't do anything else when he scores, and that's the problem with him right now.
As it was on the port.
It just angers me with that because Kevin Lux has so much more potential than what he does.
So it is duper 36 or Kevin Knox, right? I got it going back quick.
Gay. We would do Per 36 for Kevin Knox.
Per 36 minutes for Kevin Knox.
9 points per game.
Remember, this is put 36 minutes, 13.
9 points per game.
Uh, he would be shooting 37.
8% in the field, 33.
Hey, would be grabbing just about six rebounds per game. 5.8.
Just about six rebounds per game to assist and just under one steel per game in just under one block per game.
That's per 36 minutes.
Okay, uh, if you you know, if you did the math on that, um obviously you would like Kevin knocks to provide more than that.
If you played 36 minutes a game, I could see Kevin knocks Possibly getting those numbers.
I think he would probably get a few more rebounds than that.
Have you played put 36 minutes.
Right now, he averages 3.
2 rebounds per game.
Obviously, Kevin Knox's production has dipped this season, and I think you kind of expected it to dip per season.
You hope that he raised his shooting to about 40 42% 43% last season.
He shot 37% this season.
He's shooting 37.
8% right? So you would hope that he raised his shooting.
We thought he was gonna raise his three point shooting last season. He shot 34.3%.
So far this season, he's shooting 33.1.
There was a point during the season he was almost that 40% and that he said It's his gold to shoot 40% I so we'll see.
You know, we'll see howto remain there this season. Rounds out.
Hopefully, last night was a starting point for Kevin Knox, you know, saying where he could begin Thio, uh, get his groove back.
You know, that's what I'm hoping last night did for Kevin Knots because he played very well.
And for the most part, I think, you know Yes, he definitely played well.
I think a lot of it was not that he did anything to differently last night.
I think a lot of it was simply that he, um he made his shots.
When your shots begin to fall and you see your shots go down, but some people can it makes him play different.
I'm not saying that. That's right.
You're saying I'm not saying That's right.
You know? You want guys to play how they're gonna play, you know me, you know, you got you want guys to get themselves going.
I think Nate said it best the other night.
Get yourself going on the defensive end and then you can, you know, and they like the rest of your game. Come.
You gotta work with what you got sometimes, you know? I mean, you gotta work.
What you got, King One king, one king, e 161 said Knox is trash.
I disagree with you. Big time.
I don't think Knox's trash.
Hey, played a good game last night, right? And the Knicks played the Miami Heat last night.
And, um, you know, we saw we saw kind of will be soldiers from the team.
We saw a little bit of other soldiers from the team.
Uh, Julius Randle was back.
I think that had it played a lot, you know, to do with the way that the Knicks played, you know, they can kind of go back to what they were familiar with.
I, uh the Knicks played the Miami Heat last night in New York.
They played at 3 30 yesterday, right? And guys like R.
Berry had a good game.
Julius Randle had a good game on the game.
We're all the way down to the wire tides.
Gibson played his second good game in a row, right? Taj Gibson, I think, had 14 points last night.
Like eight rebounds or something like that s so you know, we're seeing guys.
We're seeing production from across the board.
There was even scoring across the board last night, right? Very balanced going.
10 guys played seven of those 10 guys wearing double digits last night, but very good game for the Knicks last night.
Um, of course, beginning this week, they have a very, very tough matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks.
But let's hope that last night's win over the Miami Heat, you know, just brings a little something different.
You know that guy right there? Reggie Bullock.
I like what he's added to this team.
You're saying he's added a lot of these added defense.
Ah, respected three point shots.
You see Julius Randle catch that cut along the baseline from a d E mailing for the dunk.
Reggie Books added a respected three point shot, a shot that guys and guys in the league respect.
Right? Because they know what Reggie Bullock can do.
And he's a defender.
Every once in a while, he pulls a shock that I'm not happy with.
You know, you could take that when the guy works as hard as he does on the defensive side of the ball.
You could take that, you know? And so you like the fact what? Reggie Bullock being in there when you got Frank Millikin that could play defense.
Um, you know, you guys you see Julius Randle Fireside skips in with with a nice play there.
Ah, and you got Mitt Toucan who can erase mistakes about blocking shots? We still need Mitch to get a little bit better um, you know, in rotations and things like that, You know what I'm saying? Um, but when you got those, you know you got a wing player, you got a point guard that could defend you.
Gotta center that could defend, you know, you should be able to do some things where we get in trouble.
I'm not exactly sure.
So a lot of it is rotations, guys not making their rotations, you know, because last week before the Miami Heat game, guys, let me tell you before the Miami Heat game, we were putrid on defense, you know? And even in that Miami Heat game, we still gave up 121 points.
We still gave up 121 points.
That's still a lot of points to give up in a game.
Obviously, today's game today's MBA game is way different.
Um, and then back in the day.
But there's still a lot of points to give up.
Arjun. 21 points.
We just happened to score with them last night.
Not like we really shut him down.
And if it was good, okay, it's not like we shut him down.
We just happen to school with him, All right.
7% from the field.
Now they only shot 29% from three.
But that's about on par with what they've been doing all season.
I think they're shooting like, Well, not all season.
The last five games of previous five games, they've been shooting about 32%.
Something like that.
I need 32 In the last five games, they shot 29%.
Last night, they had 20 forces.
We had 24 assists.
Right? So, you know, it's while we played better.
And we played better offensively.
Um, I'm not going to say we were great.
We probably could have been better.
And we can be better. We've done better.
We've sown better, you know? But the Knicks, they defeated the heat last night to finish off the week.
And, um, you know, start in a week.
It was nice to finish it off after a long West Coast trip.
Ah, and then, you know, So you played a week of West Coast teams, right? You started.
I mean, before you even got to this week.
You Phoenix and in L.
And then you play the Lakers to start the week and then you tall and then, uh back home from New Orleans who have played a bunch of West Coast teams.
It was nice to get back and playing East Coast team and played him at home and get a nice win on Kids Day at Madison Square Garden.
It was Kid's Day.
Even one of the babies finished the race yesterday.
When they do Kids day and have the baby's race, they gotta move the finish line all the way up just so the babies could finish the race yesterday.
Even the baby's finished the race.
So I had to be a good day at the Garden last night.
Yesterday, whenever Waas had to be a good day at the Garden, Ladies and gentlemen, I had to be a good dad to God.
So my game in a week, the game of the week as clearly and obviously knicksfirst the Miami Heat.
The Knicks won 1 24 1 21 clearly the best game in a week for the Knicks.
After you know, being, you know, you know, having such a rough week on the West Coast.
That was definitely the game.
Nick's defeated the Miami Heat 1 24 to 101 listen, the last time we played the Miami Heat, we were blown out.
We were blown out the water last night, became through, played a good game, and we won 1 24 to 1 21 All right, good game for the New York next.
We can build off.
It's hope that we can build off of it.
As for players, you know, this week, uh, this week was a little bit rough on the playersside, right? You had Julie's ran to go out.
Uh, you know, his grandmother passed away, you know, condolences to him and his family.
Um, you know, so you know, that made them that made it a rough week.
Marcus Morris was out, you know? So we needed some players to step up and guess who did it.
Who stepped up? R. J. Barry.
He stepped up this week.
I got to give it the RG Barry.
R J. Barrett stepped up.
Uh, you know, he had been kind of in a slump.
I'm saying he kind of had been in a slump.
He was struggling.
Ah, you know, he was struggling to find his shot.
It wasn't shooting well from the free throw line, you know, people.
And it seemed like it was.
Seemed like he was kind of fading away a little bit every once in a while.
You know, I'm saying it seemed like he was kind of fading away from games.
Um, but he managed to come back this week.
All right? I don't know if it's because Marcus Morris was out.
A lot of people will say yes.
It was because Marcus Morris was out.
Uh, Julius Randle was out, so he got more touches.
But did he? I don't know.
I don't know if you really got more touches.
You know what I'm saying? Because, you know, a lot of I mean for most of the most of those nights, you know, he was shooting.
Like last night.
He had 23 points.
The only shot 10 times.
It was 7% from the field last night.
You don't need seven pretend from the field.
So you know r J.
R J had a Ah ah.
Is that you're talking about R J better.
We'll talk about who was your player of the week.
You know, we're talking about R.
J, but you know, when you're talking about the week I thought R.
J. Barrett really had a resurgence this week.
I was leading to R J this week.
When it comes to play of the week, Um, it's probably gonna be the hem.
I was beginning to him or Ah, it was mostly Tonto loss.
Would it be? I don't know.
You know that the only other person maybe would be in the conversation with Frank Miller.
Keenan? Yeah, I was gonna say him, but then, you know, people like to call me a frank stand, but I was going to say I was gonna say handed in the dark horse with Frank, and then the third would have been topped Egyptian.
Um, when it came to r J.
Man, I think he's seen definitely something.
I was much needed.
Mom, Marji, Beard is Ah.
So I will say this to this whole year, and people don't give him enough credit, and I'll immediately won't talk about crazies on the next.
But this kid's him, e I can see what he is gonna be.
And when I tell you, it's gonna be something that is probably gonna be unstoppable once he learns how to shoot.
And they actually and they actually would start respecting him and given him calls. Seven.
This kid, he's gonna easily, easily the 27 point score again without even trying.
Um, with him, Just get into the line alone, which he should get a lie.
They don't call it powers on me.
I guess he's working, but, Jesus, some some of the files he this kid draws he doesn't get called is amazing.
Um, he would impress me the most fearsome with him has been his defense.
I can hardly say that He hasn't really got me mad with his defense.
I mean, of course he's working.
So there's gonna be things that's gonna be like, you have a chalk it up to him is running the league.
His defense is always a pressing.
This year, he hasn't been one of those tech does. Ricky.
This just looks so lost, or he actually knows what he's doing.
And again when he when he learns how to shoot, it is going to be game over 27 point score.
You're talking about 27 6 in, like, six is gonna be a priest.
Giving less credit.
That was gonna move on to say eight.
I'm gonna say eight rebounds.
Gonna get rebounds. Six assists.
That's the kind of guy he's gonna be.
You got going on 20 seven points a game? Not obviously.
Travis did not like next season.
But, you know, you know he's gonna 21 when he gets the boat. 20.
I want to say 24 25 7 You're gonna start seeing that with him.
And when he gets 27 I mean, this kid is already strong.
No, e I get it, I get it.
Face tell you this Once he gets the foul, once he gets his foul calls and runs out of shooting free throws, there should be no reason why he doesn't get 27 points again.
Not only physically strong, but his head stole.
Yes, his his face.
Listen, I call it the Eli Manifest Theall.
They don't matter if you threw a pig, threw a touchdown, you make the same place R J makes the same freeze.
I wholeheartedly say he was built for this Steve Nash.
And I'm his father training.
Um, he's both for this and also what I like.
You know? You know, the Knicks on national TV Friday, they did an interview with him.
You know, Steve Nash told him something that that I think was so important for him to know.
Um, he said that you know what you're losing right now, but you're gonna appreciate this more once you start winning.
You know, he said and I think that really stuck out with me because he said it because he was like, You know what? You're gonna appreciate the game so much more when you lose and when you lose like this and you're constantly losing, you have the bad record.
That is what you get better.
You see, the hard work it takes to actually earn the right to get a winning record is he is going to stick with him a lot more than just, you know, right.
Coming up the gates to fix is doing good.
It's gonna be good for the kid, man and all.
I'm excited for Arjun.
Let's be patient for some people to even this year calling bust because he had of, Ah, a couple of bad games.
Just You're so ridiculous.
I don't even want to give it any energy was so stupid, you know? Like I said, the other game, the other I think I said a couple shows again.
Yeah, people are looking at job Moran.
You know, he's assigning new toy.
He's doing all these things.
But you know what, man? It's Listen, I would not be surprised him of R. J.
Barrett at the end of the big comes out to be the best play out that draft team.
Just he just has it all. He can play defense.
You can score, he can pass.
I'm all dizzy, a little upset that they don't give him the ball more and let him be more.
But this isn't maker, which I think is we're not really user right now.
That diamond let me make emo and you put them in the post.
You know what? Yeah.
You know, I put him in the post over.
You gotta put him here.
Not it is true again.
My says that No, you put R J in the post and let him work and let him maneuver the court and let him control the rock and let him see what's going on.
All right, You know this this kid? I'm sorry.
Said this kid's gonna be special month, surely special.
And I'm excited that he's only 19.
That's the scary with it.
He's only making it with it.
Um, the big freeze.
He just joined this big easy.
Let me get the freezing.
I'm gonna keep you on your beautiful Always medio.
Now I'm a muting him now and I'm gonna keep you live too.
So But if you gotta work or something, just let us go crazy.
What's going on? I'm good.
You think you got yourself? You got yourself a big crazy But some freezing Never take the head off.
You got by the way, We can't hear you right now for easy.
You freeze e? Yeah, we can.
Hey, we'll get it together.
But my player of the week, ladies and gentlemen, is definitely R j.
You know, frankly, cannot think was a close second for me.
Taj Gibson had some good games.
Get 19 verse. The pelicans.
He had 14 last night.
So he stepped up and played a role.
But my guys are j better for this week.
He added 17 points per game this week.
5% from the field.
1% on the free throw line, which, you know all these numbers are upticks for R. J Bear.
Well, I'm not sure about the rebounds.
If that's an uptick. R. J. Barrett.
Let's see what he's averaging for the season. Our day.
Obviously, the point.
They're definitely an uptick for R.
Barrett, but the season R. J.
Barrett is averaging 17 points.
Five rebounds, 2.
Ah, he's shooting from the field for the season.
5% is shooting 59.
8% from the free throw line, eh? So he jumped up to 17 this week.
Rebounds went down a little bit.
His average, you know, about the same with his steals, but its field goal percentage went up to 45.5%.
You see, he shot 70% last night against Miami and his free throw percentage went up to 73.1%.
So that's my player of the week.
And, you know, if you have a different player of the week, you let me know.
That's my play of the week in 17 points per game, 4.
3 steals per game shot 45.
5% from the field.
1% from the free throw line.
Barrett gets the, uh, nothing but Knicks Player of the Week Tonto and played it a week. R.
Next time next week, we'll have some highlights up there.
Um, you know, for whoever the Player of the Week is, as you know, I don't know if you could have my dog in the background trying to get this saying and who they think the Player of the week is, you know? But, um, let's move on, man.
Let's talk about some news and rumors.
All right, Um, let's talk about I don't know it was big freezer.
You, uh, can we here yet? Not sure if I can hear you, you still muted.
You still need a big freezing you might have to go into.
There's a settings in this app.
You might have to go into the settings and fix which audio thing issue might go in there and check it out.
Um, all right, so let's talk about some news and rumors.
All right, let's That's big game.
Let's begin with, you know, the big The biggest news that came out this week and excuse me for that lays him the biggest news that came out this week.
Ah, Andrei Drummy, Right? That the things that interested in Andre Drummond, that's the biggest news that came out this week.
Quieted down some, right? Ah, you know, obviously there's a lot of people worried that the Knicks are gonna make a move for Andre Drummond, right? Some people just don't believe that Andre Drummond is right for this team.
And then a lot of people, um, you know, some people feel like Okay, maybe he could be good for the team, But why trade form now? Why not wait into free agency, you know, because he's going to opt out of his contract.
Um, what is your take Isaiah on the entire situation? Um, I say this system.
You know what? Someone was funny about this, but I don't rely on that.
You know the person.
I appreciate the present for this.
They really love Frank Miller. Akina.
They love fragment with Tina men because they've been trying to get Frank for a very long time Now, um, and I didn't live like I'm looking at all of the things that everything is like, you know, the next little the princes will trade Julius Randle and they would treat under Dylan begin.
Oh, Jews ran away afraid looking.
Appreciate the pistons for seeing the value of fate They really want.
They were wanted for a while.
Um, I said how I felt about it before on your show.
You know, right now is just to me is not the time to have Andre Drummond.
If the next more of ah, I'll send it a little more 40 45 1 team.
And you know what? He wanted to come.
Would pursue the trade them to write **** he could be a piece like that.
But right now, for what? The Knicks don't know.
That's a mediocre trail right now for the next. I don't need that.
Lex need more solid trades or you anymore.
Got much anymore.
Skip the body, weakened a little bit, keeping a low trades, do the little things.
Get young players, young potential players.
Um, then you try to move, you know, you try to move.
That allowed it to get those young potential players.
You go try to get the more established player they try.
Thio, you know, you get to cover the free agent.
That's what you're trying to do.
I mean, martyrdom is a very good player.
I remember you saying that before they listen at the Hawks, I think that'd be a perfect match up Honks.
That's like, uh, I don't like 1.
5 Dwight Howard.
You know, let me ask you this because I'm not I don't want to give up assets and lets him give me up.
No older players, right? I'm not totally opposed, Thio.
I'm not totally opposed to Andre Drummond on the scene.
I'm not No, I'm not like trying to jump out there and, like, really pursue him.
That's not my goal to like, Oh, yeah, We got to go get on the German.
That's not, You know I'm not there with it, but I'm not totally on board with that, Actually, yes.
So I'm definitely not totally opposed to Andre Drummond being on this team.
Um, you know, I I actually feel like the the duo you know of having on Jade Roman and Mitchell Robinson as the 12 punch could be very, very effective.
And I know there's a lot of people that talk about.
Neither one of those guys can shoot the basketball.
You could spread the floor without Andre Drummond.
We're not shooting the basketball and spreading the floor, either.
I don't think you're getting a big man that's going to do that.
Kristaps Porzingis is gone.
He was, you know, our big man that could do that.
I will not get in any other big man in this league that can that can spread the floor.
I don't think so.
You could spoken anyone on the way to get cat soon, so don't Don't I guess maybe but I think you can.
You can use him to spread the floor in other ways.
You know, somebody in the stream the other day said something about, um uh, you know, why am I so worried about the fact that he can screen well? And here's the reason why, Because you're seeing it with LeBron James.
When we played the Lakers the way that Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard and them guys, we kept getting called on screens and then they would knock it down.
Why open threes when you have guys really screen? Well, it opens up the floor, right? And, of course, he's gonna be able to suck guys into the paint.
He should be a decent enough Passover.
He can get it out to three point shooters.
Now, do we have knocked down three point shooters? No, you know, saying, but you know it it can still help you to spread open that floor.
You know what I mean, huh? You know what I want to say about screen? And it just hit me.
Yeah, well, you know what good screening is? I hope people can understand this when I try to put the two and two together.
Good screening is like you got your power run full body.
You just keep running it down the gut of the defense every single time, you know, you just keep you keep running and running until, like, it's just that the defense is so tired that they just give up.
You know where you screen Well, you just put our body and the guy just run into the big man's body.
They get tired, they get tired of doing that, and it is exclusive to see what happened with the Knicks.
You keep running to the big guy's body.
People remember that letter train after it gets tiring.
Keep run into those guys bodies.
You keep getting screened.
That death, that's how.
That's how good the worries work, that they screech so much that it is God knowing that you just you just had open shooters.
I know when you get a big body like Andre and all those guys that I was coming a little disappointed this year that I felt like we had the bodies to be a good feeling team.
We do have the body to be in good spirits.
Let me say that we do.
We don't do it enough.
Yeah, but but that.
But that's what happens when you run.
Guys offer screens and things like that.
You know what I'm saying? Um, you know, they started inside and big freeze it.
Whenever you Whenever your audio is ready, I got you a muted so you can join in whenever whenever it's ready.
Because you still you still a mom right now? You got something muted somewhere? I don't know, but that big greasy it's the hat. Take that off.
Yeah, you got shot You to somewhere? I don't know, but but, you know, So listen, I'm not trying.
And I don't like the contract that you would have to get him to extend them, so that that is a reason that double scares me away.
Right? That's something that says, uh, maybe we want to hold the phone on it because I don't know, You know, he's 17 points, 17 rebounds a game, right? But that's a lot of money.
If he If you give him the max, that's a lot of money, and I don't know if we're there right to give a player that is not transformational.
I don't think he's Trans.
Exactly trained. So I don't know.
Yeah, and that aspect.
I agree, you know, I mean, I definitely agree that I don't think he's a transformational player.
Ah, he's a player that can definitely upgrade your team.
He is the type of player that, if you want, if you want to build a foundation to set it up for a star player to be here.
I think he's the kind of player that you could put in there to help set that foundation.
But I don't know if he's a Max.
You maxim out at $190 million over four or five years or whatever it is.
I don't know that I'm doing that.
So that's the one thing that scares me away from him.
But just the idea just speaking.
Basketball wives, not moneywise the idea of having Andre Drummond and and, uh, Mitchell Robinson together, Um, you know, it's it's intriguing, I think, you know, as the 12 punch and then went on.
And then when Mitchell Robinson is ready to take over, you're giving the keys you know what I'm saying? Uh, you know, everyone says is going to stop his development studies development.
I just disagree.
I don't think it actually works that way, you know? I mean, there would be enough minutes to go around, in my opinion, you know, for both of those guys, that would be enough minutes to go around.
So, you know, um, I get it, though.
I understand the concern.
You know, I'm saying, um, Simmons said he would be great on a team like the Warriors.
It would definitely be great on a team like the Warriors, where he could set a lot of screens for, Ah, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and things like that.
And then he can give, you know, some baskets offer the role.
Oh, yeah, he'd be great on. It seemed like the words.
That's why I think he'd be great on the Atlanta Hawks because they said so many screens betray Young and Trey Young uses those screens so well, he'd benefit.
He'd help Trey Young.
I think that would be devastating.
You know that that would be devastating.
Um, but, you know, you know, uh, I don't think that the Knicks are gonna trade for him.
Obviously came out that, uh, the Detroit Pistons tried try to try to offer up Andre Drummond in another player for Julius Randle and, frankly, Lykina, um, you know, that's not something that I'm interested in at all.
You know, that the pistons really, like, frankly, Latina.
I'm not interested in giving up frankly, Latina.
I'm saying I mean me, you know, And you guys, I think I already know it.
I don't want the next to do any moves.
I kind of want him to sit still.
And then when we get a new regime in that new regime, can they can do what they need to do to get things done.
That's kind of where I'm at with it, you know? I mean, and, uh, you know, we'll see.
We'll see if that's where we'll see what happens.
I'm pretty sure that they're gonna make moves.
I know that they're going to make moves, you know? I mean, they're gonna do something I prefer not, but they're going to do something now.
The next thing I want to talk about, ask any woman because there's a lot of questions right now.
So why the Knicks have not brought up Kenny ruling.
And if they're going to bring up any woman, right? Right now, Kenny woman is he's playing very well for the Westchester Nix.
But this is what I the only thing I don't want us to do is to get too excited off the highlights, cause while he is playing very well and he does embody some of the things that you want and young players, um, you know, he's, you know, he's only, I think 21 years old, he's very athletic.
I mean, the guy you see in him, he could jump out of the building, You know? I'm saying, um, he is, uh, he's a hard worker, you know? He embodies that kind of mind and spirit.
You know what I'm saying? Uh, Kenny booing.
So you know the big thing and you see him? No, no one down, right there, you know? So the big thing is, you know, you want to get this guy before everybody else around the league gets, um um you know, Do you know what I don't want everyone to do is expected he's gonna come in the league and just kill the league, you know, saying if he gets in, that's not gonna happen.
He's still a young guy, Still has a lot of offensive game that he's gotta work on.
You know what I'm saying? Right now? He's an athletic 68 athletic guy that can run to the rim and block shots.
Now we desperately need another shot blocker on his team and you see what you can do right there.
You know, saying so, yes, we desperately need another shot blocker.
I just don't want people to look at the highlights and think he's going to come in and just like, you know, start averaging 12 points a game, eight rebounds and three blocks.
It's not gonna happen, you know, I'm saying, But Willie, what he will do is come in and provide a lot of energy more speed on the floor to get up and down.
Obviously, here, help on the defensive end, you know, saying he's constant, you know, constant movement, constant motion.
Now he'll get some highlight dunks that will, um you know, he'll get some highlight dunks.
That's gonna, you know, energized the crowd energized the team.
You know he'll make some place.
That's gonna energize the crowd energized the team.
But, you know, don't expect that he's going to come in and just, uh, just kill everything, right? Because you see, you know a lot of highlights on ESPN and all those type of things, but I would love for the next to bring Kenny woken up, you know, saying as you see him, you know some of his highlights from the Westchester.
As you know, they get the victory.
I would love for the next to bring Kenny wound up.
Here's the thing.
Here's what it is, right? And we got two days to get this done because in two days, right in two days, he's going to be The Knicks.
Got to make a move by January 15th.
All right, they got to make it move budge anyway. 15.
Now the Knicks have Ivan Rab, who he recently just grabbed 20 rebounds in the Geely.
The Knicks have Ivan Rab, um, and they also have Kadeem Allen.
Kadeem Allen has been a contributor.
Ah, for the Knicks, you know, for the Knicks, not just the West estimates he's been a contributor for the Knicks, right? Eso both of those guys are on a two week contract.
Ivan Rab and Kadeem Allen.
The only way for the next to sign or to bring up Kenny won't win, is they.
They've got toe wave.
One of their regular.
Ross is one of the guarantee guys.
You know Wayne Ellington's in the world.
I don't want to say allows old trailer, but he's not getting any playing time.
You know what I mean? You gotta wave one of these guys and then give him a 10 day contract or wave one of your two way guys, which Kadeem Allen is actually playing for the team.
So he's actually contributing to the team, wave one of your two way guys and then signed Kenny Woman to one of those two way contracts.
All right, so a lot of people are saying, Wait, I've been rab and signed.
Kenny won't, um and people like, why hasn't it been done now? Or why don't we just wave Wayne Ellington and then signed Kenny Woman? I'm gonna tell you why.
They're probably not gonna wave Wayne Ellington right now and sign Kenny Wound.
They're probably not gonna wave Wayne Ellington because it's three weeks to go into the trade deadline they want.
They're probably trying to see connect throw him into a trade, right? Can they can they put him, Uh, can he be caterpillar in the trade or whatever it is? So you're probably not gonna see any guys on the guarantee, you know, in that 15 man roster, you're probably not going to see any of those guys waved.
Not until after the trade deadline.
Most likely if it's gonna happen.
So the best thing that they can do and probably should do is wave one of the 21 of the other two way players.
Maybe I've been right.
Most likely would be Ivan Rab.
If you wave I've been RAB, then you could move Kenny walking into that spot, right? You can move any woman into into that two way spot and then if you want, and then after the trade deadline, you know he can come up, he can play with the team.
You can come to the next.
You could play a team, you'll have 40.
Whatever games that he can play with the team before the Knicks would have to make a decision on whether or not to give him a long term contract.
All right, so the next good wave I've been rab bring up Kenny Wu in O R or I'm sorry sign can he walked into a two way contract, bring them up to the team to play, and then after the trade, that line, If you want to give him a longer term contract, you can do what you want because you got control of his contract.
So we'll see what happens in the next two days.
We'll see how this works out.
All right? Um, I don't know.
It's hard to say.
We'll see what goes on with that. We got a phone call. Good.
It's been I was waiting to see if we're gonna get a phone call.
Let me let me get to the phone call.
See what you got to see.
What? You know, Whoever is on the line thinks about, can you will calling on live with Dr.
But next, what's popping its next weekly here? What's going on with you, bro? What's going on? And this is Bravo and call you from the area, which is Detroit presents.
I'm from Detroit.
All right, So? So maybe you got some information about the whole Andre drumming thing name? Yeah.
Um, actually, I watched a lot of news about an intercom, and he's one of my favorite guys for the person.
I'm actually disappointed that he's going to be traded because he's our old star.
And for the Pistons, for the best seven years, it's really, uh, find it difficult to watch a guy like him being traded like this low value.
So I wanted to ask you, from Nick standpoint, what would be an ideal deal for you guys to pick up under coming from us? Well, uh, okay.
So I'm going to speak hypothetically, because me, you know, given the situation that the Knicks are in right now with, you know, the way that we're not sure if you know Scott, parents Steve Mills, they're still gonna be the executive office going forward.
I don't want the next to make any moves because, um, I want the new regime to come in with a clean slate and be able to, you know, make make all the moves.
So yeah, I'll put that there.
But I think you know those who are willing to make a trade for R J.
Drumming, Uh, date.
No one wants to give up many first round draft picks.
Um, I don't think the Knicks want to give up any first round draft picks from everything that I read on.
And then people are looking at, like trading like, uh, you know, Todd's, Gibbs or Bobby Portis and offered pay in Bobby Portis and Wayne Ellington.
Ah, and then, you know, and then everyone's really reluctant to throw in a ah, young draft pick two, and it's not.
It's not because of Andre Drummond, who he is.
It's because of the situation right where the Knicks are not really ready to really, like, commit a lot of money to a player who's not transformational, who was very good but not transformational, right? So not ready to really commit $190 million to Andre Drummond.
And then So if you're not going to commit 100 $90 million to him, you might lose him in the off season if and when he pops out.
And so, if you up.
So if you trade away a first round draft pick Oh, you trade away.
Ah, young asset and then you lose him.
You basically gave away an asset, but nothing, you know, right? So I think that's the you know, that's the That's the reason why Probably form or teams than not just the Knicks, you know, for for everyone.
That's the reason why is so low right now.
What was it? Did you get a report today? Notification today? That the next day they're not.
Ah, First conflicts. Yeah.
With this year, right? Not doing any change first, right? Right, s So that kind of tells you about what I was gonna happen when I do jump.
Because, you know, the pistons personal looking for three persons are looking for three things.
We're looking for a young player, money relief and a first round pick.
Father dropped three things.
I know what they're looking for, you know? So yeah.
So? So if I would be accepting the considering a tradeoff.
Julius Randle on Dennis Jr.
I mean, we love tell you what, In Detroit, we haven't really good passion for Junior.
We do not think he's the bus by any means.
We still have hopes.
I hopes on this guy.
And I think he could be a really good, solid player for the person I don't know of.
The next, though, is interested in ah, adding a pick to make it happen, you know? I mean, I don't see it as a bad trade by enemy, because the Knicks are still getting a star player from our team, and you guys can give us like a late first round pick.
Bennett's new junior and Randall.
I think we got a deal, Huh? Uh, I think the Pistons would go for that deal easy.
I do, uh, because Randall's on a contract.
Compared to Andre Dramas contract, Randall's contract is really nice.
While compared to what Andre Drummond would be making, Miranda was like $20 million a year and then in 2021 you don't even have to.
You know, there's a team option.
Basically, you can wave him before July 21st July 28th 2021 you only got a paying four million.
You didn't work out.
Um uh, like I said, I don't think the Knicks are gonna give up any first round draft picks.
Yeah, I don't think they've given up in first.
I wanted to avoid my Hey, keep it going.
I really watch your channel.
I'm assistant stand.
But I'm also a next man too, So, uh, keep it going.
Have a good one.
This lease and the Knicks not giving up any first round draft picks now.
Dennis Smith, Jr Date might move.
Dennis Smith, Jr.
They might be willing to move. Dennis Smith, Jr.
Um, let's get back to Kenny wound.
And Isaiah Well, let's see if big freezes easy there.
Oh, there we go.
We've got greasy online now.
I mean, the guy's a on the line.
What do you guys think about Kenny? Woman man? Hey, Melanie, is that that dude possesses something that we rarely get as a, you know, a zone organization, man.
An athletic big, um, with with high upside, raw young man.
We don't get our hands on kids like that that often, man.
I mean, I think I think I think if if we can just not try to outsmart ourselves, maybe just go ahead and and just cut bait with Wayne Ellington because, you know, we want diet to play.
We want career to play.
We won't r j to play.
We want bullet to play.
We just don't have room for, like, you know, fifth shooting guard type guy, man.
But we definitely need athleticism or athleticism in the front court.
But we cut bait wit with Ellington.
We really don't even miss anything, really.
You know, all it does is free up more minutes for career and Dotson.
And plus, we add that athleticism shot blocking in the front court that we desperately need the lake.
The Lakers showed us the other day that having five shooting guards is not the way you know, I'm saying they bullied us down low if we had a cat like Wooten.
I'm not saying you have won the game, but he'd at least president some type of resistance, man.
Um, no, no, I feel you like that.
We don't have I mean, how long has it been since we've had that type of athleticism? You gotta and Mitchell Robinson? So imagine having two guys.
You know, that criminal You disappointed me.
That would be this.
Houston, was that I haven't seen.
You want a lot of these young guys we don't want what I want this entire zoo.
Where have I seen arguably again? One All of you.
But I was disappointed, but I'm like, No, Why would you want to get one of you? Why? Mitchell Roberts? Like, uh, drive until I understand.
But listen, man, with a lot of young, but but but But when you love it when you okay? I mean, even though the guy's a young, you gotta look at the type of guys that they are, right? Julius Randle is young, but he's I mean, he can get downhill, but he's basically still not a transition fastbreak guy.
No saying his body is not built that way.
Oh, even though he can get downhill.
R J Bear, it's not that type of a guy's not built that way, you know, I'm saying Kenny woman is one.
He is built that way like that's what they would excel.
I get out, getting out in transition, you would excel at getting ah, you know, catching lobs.
I mean, he would just excel at that, you know, that's one of the people you know.
People like to make fun of the next man, but I'll say this about that next.
When it comes to our especially the next and the wrappers. Julie, teams.
We could do some real good quality players, man.
We produce the world Good quality players.
Yeah, All right.
Um oh, and let me Excuse me.
Where? Excuse me. Screen.
Ladies and gentlemen, there we go.
So what can I ask a question? Just Yeah.
Eso eso What's the deal with Knicks fans being so down on? Kevin knocks understanding that this dude probably hadn't played 100 games yet.
I don't get it at all.
I don't know, man.
Um, you know, people want that instant gratification, basically, you know, that's basically what it is.
People want that instant gratification.
They want it like they want to see him come in.
You know, they want to see him coming.
He averaged 10 points last year.
They want to see him come in an average 13.
14 this year. They want to see the progression.
But a lot of times, when people don't say that progression progression is up and down, you don't see up and down.
You know, it doesn't always go exactly that.
How you think it's gonna go development? It's up and down, you know, And, um, just gotta be a little patient.
Let that development happen, you know? I mean, because one thing about Knox is is what they don't realize is Knox had an adjustment to the MBA.
Right? But the MBA also has an adjustments to Knox now, Now that they know he loves to go right with his go, right with that right hand, teams like a man make this dude go left.
And if you don't go that you don't have a shot, he have to pass it on to something with it.
And the other thing, too is is last year off the All Star break out.
No, I keep harping on this, but last year, after the All Star break, you could It is debatable to say that he may have been our best player.
Heat for the numbers don't lie.
The dude's free throw percentage increase.
After the All Star break.
After the All Star break, he also shot over 40% from from the three point line, which on on our team, anybody shooting 40% man, we should cherish that because we don't have guys that shoot 40% from from the three point line.
Haven't had one in a long time, right? And people forget also that Fizdale was not drawn up easy looks for any of these young guys last year and came out and was going the same thing this year.
Then Fitz gets fired and in comes a new coach, and people forget that when you have young guys you have to treat, they have to learn how to transition from one coach and coaching staff style to another.
Veterans are more prepared to do that because they may have been through it once, twice, three times.
But for guys that are rookies, you know they have to make the adjustment.
That's probably one of the reasons why r.
I'm playing on uneven kill.
He had a coaching change before the All Star break of his rookie year, but we don't take things like that into it in account.
We haven't take those things into account because you know, the grows just like you said man.
And when you said it, it was a gym.
Growth in MBA is not Lydia.
It's gonna be up and down, especially when you had all those variables.
Coaching changes on office philosophies and veterans to your team injuries.
All these things you have to take that into account.
Mint, right, right And like like Gamma was saying, Game girl Masino here is not instant gratification.
Ah, that is not instant gratification is one thing that struggle as a young player I don't even care about.
Offense is playing with no focus on either end, no focus and concentration.
But see, my thing is, my C is exactly that.
When you're talking about development, it's not just the physical tools that have to be developed is the mental calls have to be developed.
It's the first there has to be developed is the concentration that has to be developed.
All these things have to be developed.
Everyone wants to compare one player to another player.
When every player has their own path.
Every player is a different individual.
You're saying you have to figure out what makes that player tick, you know, saying you are exactly right, man. Exactly.
That's what I don't get it.
When a player has played less than 100 games in his entire career.
What we expect most expect because he's gonna be in the league most expect will probably be a 15 year career right over 1000 some games.
You know, if you think 15 say's let's just say Let's just give him the average of 70 games a year.
What's that? Posted 2000 games and he's less than 100 into his career, you know, saying, that's why it bothers me.
But I'm not, and I'm not defending him about anything, right.
If he's not playing defense well, it doesn't play defense.
Well, that's the area's got to grow.
If, you know he has to learn how to exert himself in.
Ah, in every game in Essen area where he has to learn, you don't seem.
But for someone who just flat out say he's a bust, no sent after, you know he's not even halfway through a sop****re season, right? It just be follows me, and it frustrates me saying, because to me that is lack of patients, you know, saying because you know everyone right now, not everyone.
But most Knicks fans feel excited about some of the things that scene from Frank Miller Kina.
But if you had a most Knicks fan, if you had it their way, most of what it straight at him last year or this rookie, you're right.
It is all right, right? They wanted Frank gone after his first year.
That's what I'm saying.
So you know, like this There is no patients, so, you know, Gamble.
You can say that if you want, but there is no patience.
And, you know, there's no patients with experience, you know, saying there's no patience whatsoever, you know? Ah, I'm in New York, where the running joke with when we were in Nick's got rookies.
They were only here for a year.
That was a running joke.
Every time the next arrested a guy first round, he was gonna be, Oh, if he wasn't All Star, he was gone.
That was on the job for like 20 years.
Guillermo says certain things you don't develop late in your career, things like court awareness and aspects of facilitation.
See, I disagree, because I know as a young player, right.
Um, you know, I had some, You know, I could see the court and things like that, but my eyes were used to get into the get into the basket and then seeing where I can dip it off right now When I played now, like I know so many different things going on on the court, right? Because my basketball, like you, was so much higher, I'm able to facilitate so much better because I can see you know where people are gonna be in what people are going to do.
So, no, it does come later in your career as you facilitating the basketball game.
I mean, facilitating anything in life gets better as you get more experience, anything.
So how can facilitating the game not get better with experience? That doesn't make sense to me and hurt awareness being aware where you are understanding where you are in the court that also comes with experience playing experience.
So I disagree with those things right there, and I'm gonna go back to and I know I've done it several times.
I'm gonna go back to the player that I coached who, um, he had It was kind of like Kevin Knox, right? And, you know, we worked on him being aggressive, going to the basket, those type of things Finally, he tried to dunk on somebody, and then it clicked.
Form Well, guess what? Just last night.
And I hope he's everything is good with him.
Just last night in a college game, playing down the Florida in college.
Now Ah, kid, right.
People would say had a low motor because that's what it looked like.
He had, people would have said had a low motor, was not aggressive.
Ah, was nervous.
Was scared, those type of things, playing in college.
He actually broke his leg going up for a dunk.
Somebody ran into him to try to block a shot.
Broke his leg, going up for a dump.
So don't tell me that it can't happen.
I'm saying we've got toe Have we've got to have patience, you know, saying gotta have patience, but freezing what I'm gonna do next, I'm gonna go through a couple of, um, so plays it a week nominees, because I got to jump out of hand, like, five minutes, all right.
Plays it a week nominees and and and see if, um who do you think? These guys, you know, if you think these guys, you win, if I can find it.
I'm trying to find it on the way sack.
Let me see if I can find it.
And then once I find it, I'll let you know if I got it.
I thought that I have Maybe I don't have it.
Let me find it here. Okay.
Going a little bit too far.
That's why my scroll and it should be.
Well, it's not here.
I don't know what I did with freezing.
I'm gonna find it.
Can I just add one thing just real quick? I promise.
15 seconds, Ed, because I'm gonna find my place in a week, so I can so I can get through it.
All right, so So this whole thing about us not and not want to get Andre Drummond to me is, like, the most backwards argument ever.
How did How does a franchise that can't sign all stars in the off season and is well, do***ent is almost like a laughing stock.
That franchise, with all these resources, can't sign a marquee free agent.
Um, in the off season, right is going to turn down the opportunity to tea trade for and an all star at a need at a position to need to me is to me.
Now I know people say, Well, freeze.
You look at the timeline and look at what you may have to pay.
But during the off season, we were still in the same timeline and we were trying to sign Kyrie, um, and Kevin Durant, which would have sped up our timeline.
So if you add Andre Drummond, which actually gives that the the mediocre mid to above average three point shooters that you have more space on the floor to get their shot off shots all in Crete for others, how was that a bad thing? Especially when all it takes for you to get Andre Drummond is French assets that you were gonna probably trader let walk out the door anyway.
Yeah, no, I get it. I understand.
I mean, my my my fear is is the contract after world, but I definitely understand for saying Okay, so I found what I needed to find.
I don't know what happened before.
All right, um, so let's get to ladies and gentlemen, first of all, you know, we're going to go over some of the um, player The week nominees.
****ysts Take a look here, um, our player of the week nominees for this week? No, Maybe I'm not going to Oh, here we go.
All right, let's Let's let's rewind is just a little bit so I could make sure I've got this right for you.
Ladies and gentlemen, the 1st 1 though, as you can see, and here we go.
We're going to get to it. It's, frankly, Lykina.
That's not the 1st 1 We need to rewind that.
All right, so we're gonna start this over so I can get it right.
This what happens sometimes when you know you get you know, this is a brand new show, so a couple of hiccups hand there.
Frightening looking with the fake past.
First the Utah Jazz see fixed the past Boom.
Then he lays it up for the nice layup.
That's number one.
That's the first.
That's the 1st 1 for easy, right? And then a boyfriend. A Latina.
You know, he's been playing well lately.
His number two months.
Frank Miller Aquinas.
He blows past the pelicans, goes down the land, he dunks it home.
You know, I mean, we've seen we've been seeing some things from, frankly, Latina.
The number three l for patient gets the pass from R J Barrett.
L for putting goes down a lane and dunks it on three New Orleans pelicans.
Uh, yeah, that was a nice play.
And in number four is R J Bear.
He gets the break last night and he dunks it with its opposite hand, if you want.
Well, you know, I guess he's really right handed, But most people Bingaman think of him is left handed.
If you see him looking at his hand and then the 5th 1 is ah, Tides gifts into Julius Randle.
Julius man who gets it back. The tides.
Which one do you think? And I go over one more time if you want to hear it.
I don't know if you got a chance to see it.
Go over one more time.
All right? Right, Neil? Ickiness pass Fake pass to a lay up.
First the Utah Jazz.
That's number one and then, Ah, number two a game.
Soon as it comes up this frankly, lieutenants, clap my hands with Miss Robinson.
Frankly looking universe Republicans down the lane with a cross over to the dunk.
Right? Nice play and listen.
It's nice to see friendly looking and getting this aggressive going to the right.
Remember, you guys would have traded him a while back.
And then r j barrettes Alfa Peyton's Alfa paying comes in lane over pay is only, like, what? 6263? Whatever he is, right? He's in the lane.
He bangs it over three pelicans in number four R J.
Barrett with the opposite hand.
The right hand dunk.
You see him again? He looks at his hand wondering, Whoa, I could do this with the right hand.
You know, I guess just put the MBA and alert like, yeah, I could do the right hand to a lot of people talk about our job at his right hand and then tides gifts, and this is probably the weakest of them all.
But I just thought it was, you know, I like there was other place in this game that maybe they were more Bob, that I could add it, but I decided to add that one.
All right. So crazy.
Which one do you think, man? Easy there.
I hate that I had a friend.
So we're going to Yeah, I'm here.
Hey, speeded up something speeded up real quick.
But go ahead and say it again.
I think I think I'm losing you freezing, but it sounded like you said.
You like the Frank.
I like the frank dunk man across the border. Fast, aggressive.
You like the crossover going to the basket? A lot of people, you know, because I did.
Ah, I did a video four.
I did a video for this, and a lot of people picked the frank dunk.
It's a matter of fact in the chat.
Uh, you know, in the video that I put in for the chat to check the winner for the check was the front door, right? That was the winner for the chat.
I kind of have a little bit of a different winner, you know, saying not that I have anything against Frank's.
I thought, you know, I am impressed that Frank could go in and dunk, but the chats winner was without a doubt.
You know, um, as you see here one more time Frank Miller Akina going in.
This is the chats. Winner.
I frankly looking and going in and getting a nice getting a nice, nice nice don't there, um, over the New Orleans pelicans.
You're saying that's the chats.
Winner War, play of the week.
All right, and then let me get together.
Oh, my winner is Philip played a week.
My winning for the play of the week itself a pain.
I don't know why I thought that one was a little bit more impressive.
Um, I guess just because you know he's smaller, Do you know hey, didn't clearly have.
Now the game was blown out.
The link The game was not even in, um, intention any longer, right? But yeah.
Alford plea in, You know, with Thea, you come down a lane and just, you know, bringing it home.
You know that was it for me, Ladies and gentlemen.
Um so again, chats Winner was, frankly, Lykina.
He was the winner to play it a week in mine was l for Peyton.
Did you see? Comes down on Lane, brings it home.
And next week I make sure I have these cute up a little bit better.
Ladies and gentlemen, make sure I haven't chewed up a little bit better.
Um, but I'm gonna get to one last phone call for easy.
They're going to get up out of here.
Okay? All right.
Live with nothing, but next was brought up.
Hey, how are you, Sam? Good man.
How are you? Good.
A, um, a couple of points, which is bringing out for conversation that I wanted You You.
Ah, you know, give me your opinion.
Well, my opinion, the team could use some help in free agency of the summer.
Um, but from a point of managing the cap, we gotta be careful.
I believe we, uh, have to, um Well, I don't see Amy.
Transformation of players like to use your words.
So, uh, is there any players that you think are interesting at the right price? And what price do you think that would be? You bring in to help us out.
Ah, um, you know, it's hard video.
I don't even know my name.
You know, James, and you can bring all the bring up other Bogdanovic from Ah Oh.
Jensen from Sacramento.
Yeah, on one on one that I really think you, which would consider a threat by fleet as that to bring him a scoring point Her to play next to NA to R J.
Okay, um and ah, I am.
I'm gonna tell you what I think about those two guys.
I will let you go because I got to get out of here.
S o. I appreciate you. And hopefully I get it.
You know, you call back in on the next show, okay? I appreciate it. Ah, Fred.
Like Fred Vanvleet.
Um you know, I think he could be a good point guard.
I don't know how much he's going to be worth or anything like that.
And then you also got a fit, you know? You know, what's it gonna be like when he leaves the Toronto Raptors is still gonna be the same Fred Vanvleet when he leaves the factory.
You know what I'm saying? So that's the question about that, You know, it is hard to It's hard to say.
I mean, Bogdanovich is like, 30 years old, you know? Means So what's the difference between keeping Bogdanovich and Marcus Morris? I'm saying that both giving you.
You know, about the same points per game.
Bogdanovich's Maybe, um I don't know.
I you know, what's the difference between the two? I don't know how much Bogdanovich is gonna make me.
He's, like, 30 years old, so it's not like it actually getting any Anyone whose youthful me. He's older, too.
So, um, you know, I'd be, you know, I don't know.
You know, I guess he's okay.
You know, he's a good player.
He's a good player.
I just don't know if you're gonna trade for Bob. Donna, Michi monster.
Just keep Marcus Morris.
You know what you think about that sleazy, and then I'm gonna get about it one second for easy as I've got the ah, the the the winner.
The winner is showing any chat.
So let me get that off of there.
And then, um, there you go.
What do you think about that for easy? No, Um, I don't like Eva.
Um, yeah, because because I think Kevin is a Compton, like a teddy Bridgewater.
Type it for those that follow football.
You know, a system player.
You know, I'm saying, but if he goes to a different team, can you be a franchise player? You know, I mean, And if we're not getting a franchise player, one of just rocket, which you got, you're ready.
You gotta have guys that are on that same level that make you know, millions of dollars less.
So it's just if you're looking at a cost ****ysis of whatever, it would just be better just to keep what you have.
Because Alfred Peyton looked looked similar almost too.
You know, guys in that same, um, average point guard type guy, you know, you know, on a team or whatever.
Um, bye gonna *****, man.
You know, that three ball man is crazy, but he doesn't defend, you know, I'm saying, and we have one of the best shooters in MBA and Marcus Mars, and he does attempt to defend.
So what do you get? And then we know Morris loves to be here, so, you know, it's like, you know why I go out and get that guy when you already have the guy that does, you know the same thing and more, and then plus wants to be here, right? Exactly.
That's when I met with a two man um, from a crazy man.
I got to get out of here because I got a meeting I got to get to by the hour and 1/2.
So, uh, I got to get ready so I can jump out to that meeting.
How you doing? Hey, can I just say one thing real quick, man? Dog, How you doing the Knicks show and converting other team's fans to Knicks fans and come and contribute to your show? I don't know, man.
You got some good, man.
There was some good old days.
There's other teams coming to be on your show just to contribute, man.
They doing double duty? My right, Uh, man alone will get out of here, man.
I appreciate you easy.
Yeah, Yeah, man, no doubt doing your thing, man. I'm out.
No doubt we'll be back with Nick's weekly next Monday.
I'm assuming it's going to be at the same time at, um uh, 11 a.m.
I got to see what my schedule is dull, but I definitely put it out there.
I appreciate it.
Ladies and gentlemen, thank you guys for being here with me.
Um sorry about some of the video thing on the player of the game player the week stuff like that.
But, you know, it's new show.
It'll get better to get crispy to get sharp, and everything will be smooth.
You know, that's the plan.
So I appreciate you guys for being here with me, sticking with me.
Um, I will be doing a game preview tomorrow morning at all tomorrow at 12 p.m.
I'm doing a game preview tomorrow at 12 p.
I wanted to do the game preview today, but it just wasn't enough time to fit everything in with some of the other things.
I got a basketball game tonight and all kinds of stuff.
But tomorrow at 12 p.m.
I will be doing a game preview.
Um So I see you guys tomorrow, thank you guys for being here and stick with me as his show grows.
You know, we're gonna keep this thing going in, and I'm gonna make the show with Negro.
Try to make it really pop pieces.
Guys, man, pace.
