Good evening and welcome to another episode F P C.
NFL live postgame edition.
Ah, I am me and Glenn in, of course, and I'm joined once again by Mr Brandon Ray.
And in spirit, you can see his image still up on the screen.
It is Mr Kyle Center.
Ah, we're dealing with some technical issues with his his ah, computer side.
So we're gonna try to get him on here.
Because, of course, you want to get his expert opinion on the Packers big victory tonight, setting up a big game against the 40 Niners next week for the right to go to the Super Bowl.
So, Brandon, it's just you and me right now.
The two people that don't have a team in the race.
Once I got knocked out.
Wild card weekend.
First off, what did you think of? We'll start with Kansas City and Houston.
Kansas City wins 51 to 31.
They outscored Houston 51 to 7 51 to 7 after Houston went up 24.
Um, you know, I I'll say one thing before I will give you the floor.
Ah, the Texans need a fire bill O'Brien and I'll let you react and let me know what you think about that game.
Talk about major hot. Take their means.
I wouldn't have service.
I wanna search the fire him, but he definitely deserves to have his seat let up a little bit more under his butt.
It was inexcusable.
Second quarter and second half and for all of the viewers and I know understands has been a little bit of a petty type of thing for all you viewers that made fun of Buffalo 16.
Nothing lead and how they show for the first Happy can't see the second image of their local because that's the second half.
Just a second half as well give up 28 unanswered points to lose the lead going into the second quarter.
And then you just completely crap the bed in the second half.
The shop. You don't put this game on the show.
Michelle Watson had no turnovers.
They had over almost 400 passing yards, you know, And its completion percentage.
It wasn't the greatest, you know he had keys are eating up 76 but you don't put the blame on him.
I put it on simply, Bill O'Brien and that defense.
That defense didn't just break.
They broke and it was repeatedly breaking type of stick type of thing.
And it's unacceptable.
I I put ah, 120% of the blame on Bill O'Brien.
And yes, I know the defense wasn't good.
But that was a lot Thio be put on Bill O'Brien because he put them in that position.
You're up 24 to 7.
For the most part, you've kept Kansas City and check.
They were able to get a touchdown after a big return on special teams that set them up nicely.
Yes, you don't you don't go down and score an answer, however.
You get an opportunity to put them in a position once again where they have to drive down the field.
And what do you do? What do you do? You run a fake punt, you've run a fake punt from your own 30 yard line and you fail.
Yes, it was a great play by Sorensen.
Let's let's not forget how great of a play that was open field.
He literally had to make the read immediately to make that play so, uh, you know, even if let's say it works, say the play works, it would have still been a bad player, just would never have been remembered that way.
However, in this case, it blew up in his face and right then and there, All of a sudden, you give a team that just scored points that finally started to kind of feel something mo mentum.
And you gave him a short field.
And what did they do? They score the score right away and then, you know, then the floodgates open and again, Yes, the defense should be able to rebound from from some of that.
But Bill O'Brien put them in an impossible position because then you know, a play.
Later on the kickoff, there's a fumble.
And again, once again, another short field.
And, you know, it was just to me.
I'm sitting there, You know, if anyone watched this morning, I I picked the Texans to win this game, and for the first quarter, I looked like I was gonna be really right because it looked like they came to play a a peak Texans game, a game that we're no, we know they're capable of doing every so every so often.
And this looks like one of those nights.
And boy did the excuse me.
Did the wheels fall off quickly? Because assumes that happened And people Ah, you know, it's funny how things change because, you know, I thought the kicking the field goal, as opposed to going for it on fourth and short, was going to be a big ah, talking point after this game.
Ah, i d I thought it was the right decision to take the points.
I thought at that point, you know, not it wasn't conservative to the point of like, you're gonna hurt yourself.
It was smart football.
You're you have a nicely it against a team you know eventually is gonna put some points on the board.
You take whatever point you get in, you come out and ah, you know you.
Even then he was undecided.
It looked like he almost was gonna go for it to begin with.
Uh, uncer*****y led to a time out.
And then they eventually just kicked the field goal.
And then again, everything fell apart in the next, like three or four plays for the Texans and and really, it's all about that that failed attempt to go on the punt that was just in my mind.
I tweeted it at the time.
It was a dumb play, and I even included they should fire Bill O'Brien in that tweet.
And I stand by that because, you know, I I understand where you're coming from, where it's like, you know, it's not all bad with Bill O'Brien.
And look, I'm eating a little bit of crow because I kind of threw him into the pro side of the Bellagio coaching tree within just this last day.
But I did highlight that he has some issues.
Well, some of those issues became a glaring issue today, and I think that was just It was It was not.
It was not a good thing for, Ah, for Bill O'Brien, and I think this Texan team is You're not gonna overcome this in the long run.
So I think, honestly, they should just say goodbye and move on.
Well, that's the thing, and we'll also makes bank.
You sit there 24 to 7.
If there's a time to be conservative, you don't even have to scoring more points.
Just keep the ball out of my bottom of Holmes, his hands and get tired off the clock.
Why do Carlos Hyde on Lee get 13 total carries for the entire game? Idol Carlos Hyde? He's not what he waas like 434 years ago.
I understand that he's still a power back that can gain the arts and get the clock going and get the time off the clock and keep the ball out of the homes hands.
And I think Bill O'Brien tried to get a little too cute with it.
He tried to make a statement.
You man, stay in the first quarter.
He literally went to Kansas City.
They went in there and they smacked around Andy Reid.
They almost sent into the red hot chair.
And just like I say, this, this is a waste of.
This was a waste of game.
Nothing for Houston.
This is a waste of This was a waste.
Good news is it looks like we have Kyle center on the other, and so can you.
Can you hear us? Ill? Maybe not.
Maybe you can. You can. You hear us? No.
Still still an issue? No, I don't have other stuff coming out of It's all right.
We'll let you will let you figure I'm gonna meet your mic for now.
Give me a thumbs up on the camera when you think you might figure it out? Actually, you know what? I just realized He can't hear me.
So you know what? I I I feel like an idiot.
It's like he's telling me he can't hear me.
And here I am, giving him audible instructions.
You blocked you, Mike.
There are quickly.
Oh, I blocked by Mike.
Okay, Right. Yeah.
See, then that's that's to screw ups. Um, okay, moving on.
We're gonna let Kyle figure this out.
Well, you know, work away.
We'll get you going.
But getting back to what you said, Brandon, what we kind of both in agreeance here is That's just That's just an incredibly disappointing, disappointing.
Ah, just absolute disaster for Houston.
You know, this is a game that they really could have won.
I'm not saying they came in as the favorites.
I'm not saying that.
Um I'm not saying that they should have.
Sorry about that, guys.
I accidentally held the call, so we lost you there.
Um, but yeah, this is this is an absolutely disastrous ah, turn of events for the Houston Texans, because, again, you're looking at an opportunity not only to go to the A f C championship game, but to hosted you are up 24 to nothing.
I mean, you cannot let that type of lead slip away and, ah, you know, again, that's why again, I'm really adamant about the fact that they need to get rid of Bill O'Brien and just move on.
He may be better served going elsewhere, doing something else.
He's not a terrible coach, but I think his welcome in Houston has certainly worn out.
And I think this this game epitomizes the Houston Texans under Bill O'Brien, and you cannot waste it.
Did Shawn Watson and some of the players they have on this team with a coach that's not going to get them there? Well, and you know, you hit that, you hit the hit, the nail on the head, it's You can't waste a cause, Watson.
What's it gonna be gonna be a league MVP.
Who's to say the lot to camp with ***y team to a Super Bowl? You could make a case that used it could've been Super Bowl this year while the like, like any team that was in its playoff race could have been.
So I'm gonna put it that way, Whether you agree with me or not.
Houston has one of the most electrifying quarterbacks since he came out of Clemson and the facts again.
I can't stress this enough If you're going up against the top seeded Kansas City, where you know that Tashima Holmes has that it factor like he's gonna get the job done.
Why not? At least give less time.
May come work for that.
Come back rather than give it away like they really gave him like a happy meal. Plus more.
Yeah, and he's only just like, Yeah, I don't know anymore.
Well, it's like and that's the thing, and they and your your frustration is resonating with me because it's the same way and it's not.
It's not that I'm disappointed that Kansas City, uh, ultimately want Yeah, of course.
You know, maybe I would have liked them not to have one and maybe for the Texans.
But, um, this is just me being disappointed in just the overall Ah, just opportunity that the Texans wasted.
And you said they could have won a Super Bowl.
Absolutely, they were to you win this game, you hold onto that lead that you have 24 Nothing most teams do.
Um, you know, maybe aside from Atlanta and some other teams that were, you know, you know, may mention here when it comes to blowing big leads, But, um, you just you cannot blow this opportunity because you win this game and you are a home win away from going to the Super Bowl and against against a team that you probably feel pretty good going up against because you know them a lot better than everyone else that's run into him.
And that's the Tennessee Titans.
So if I'm a Texans fan, I am thoroughly disappointed.
If I I am also angry because I I am disappointed what this coaching staff has put together and what they've been able to Ah ah, get out of this team, which is not as much as they should have.
So one quick check.
Kyle, can you hear us? Rice There were in action.
We're in action.
Okay? I took us a little bit, but we got you here.
And at least you're not just a still frame on the on the screen here.
So, um So Brandon and I have obviously been going back and forth about Bill O'Brien and the epic failure that is the Houston Texans in this game against the Chiefs.
What are your thoughts on this? I think Bill O'Brien needs to go.
I don't think I don't know if it's gonna happen, but I just I feel like this team can not go any further than what they are with Bill O'Brien as the coach game plan.
I certainly they were putting it toe working up in the first quarter, utilizing what the Chiefs were doing with the extra coverage for Fuller open things up being Kenny Stills on that.
That big play was open And s o.
I thought you initially great game plan by the Texans and their offense was really Yeah, they got the the special team score as well, but their offense scored two touchdowns pretty quick and things were looking pretty good and then, yeah, suddenly it almost almost feel it.
They've bought into it a little too much.
And maybe that's coaching and mental more the mental discipline of if you get a big we don't just celebrate is if you one when there's, you know, 3/4 of football left.
Um, I will say the decision to, you know, to go for it on fourth and one deep in your own territory, Um, at a moment.
And I guess I understand why he did it.
He was trying to kill the momentum of the chiefs and extend to drive.
But you just added even more easy for them to score, getting the ball back so quick, and it really ended them touch exactly.
So, well, I understand the aggressiveness.
I also really questioned it at that point.
That was overly aggressive there.
I mean, the aggressive nature worked for them later in that quarter getting the, you know, the funeral just before halftime, you know, least able to kind of to minimize the damage a little bit, and it should.
They could easily, no doubt had a kneel down there, but the actual imports I did like that.
Brian was aggressive at times.
But maybe you're right.
Maybe you know playoff loss after playoff loss keeps adding up, and I do wonder.
Do things need to change there? E.
I just I feel I feel like you don't want a waste to Shawn Watson.
I mean, you don't want to waste his, especially his developmental years.
I mean, Brandon mentioned it before when you first got on.
I mean, Shawn Watson did everything possible to try to get this team to win this game.
And, you know, how could you, though, when you know you make a terrible decision to go for it on a fake punt, which I understand that the idea that he wanted t kill the momentum, but it did the exact opposite.
And it was it was instantaneous the second that happened.
All of a sudden, all you have to do it.
I see here, you know, the ball travels five yards.
Tyree kills up the field or whoever catches balls up to field. Travis. Cassie.
I mean, jeez, he has.
He had two cuts, touchdown passes of what, one and 1/2 yards.
And it was just the same little rollout shuttle pass play that, you know, at that point, Houston was just like, Well, we don't care.
We don't really want to be here, you know, because it got to a point where it just seemed like they just didn't really give a bleep, you know, because at that point they were mentally defeated and mentally just on capable of handling the surgeon.
And, look, you know, they were doing an okay job of kind of keep in Kansas City at at ease.
Like we know they can sometimes start a little slow.
Ah, you know that we know they're explosive second quarter team.
So you knew at some point there was going to be an offensive burst from the from the Chiefs.
The last thing you want to do is is hand them fields combined of less than 50 yards to score 22 touchdowns.
Like that, it's just absolutely absurd.
And again, it all begins and ends with Bill O'Brien's decision.
Thio make that fake punt there when they could have just punted the ball away and given Kansas City a long field work with something they hadn't been able to do yet to that point.
So and I mean, it didn't.
Didn't the Texans win the turnover battle? Yeah.
So you had a lot of things working for you, but again, just an explosive second quarter by the Chiefs really again on the hunt is in that position, too.
But I mean, 28 points by the Chiefs in the second quarter.
What? The Texans scored 31.
So really, the rest of game that she's only had to score four points to defeat the Texans.
Well, and here's the thing, too.
And it's like, this is obviously where we know how explosive the chiefsoffense can be and how quickly they can score.
I mean, sometimes they can score this quickly on a field three times as long, so I'm not taking anything away from that.
But in this particular cir***stance, I'm betting, you know, 3/4 that the league could put up this many points.
Given this great of an opportunity from this team, I mean, when you're gifted, that you like basically college overtime length of field to get into the end zone like I mean, I like it said 75% of the teams in the league are gonna be able to capitalize on that.
For the most part, It again we're not gonna bring up what happened last weekend, but ah, you know, again, you get my point.
It's It's the opportunities that the Texans gave the Chiefs.
And again, I'm not sitting here trying to say that the, you know that the class ago the Texans lost in that know the Chiefs won this game of emphatically.
Yeah, but, you know, again that the Chiefs had I mean, the Texans were just horribly managed from from that standpoint and again that had such a ah impact on that team because they're not mentally strong.
They needed to play with that with that lead against that team, and they just got it.
So, uh, I'm disappointed into them.
Ah, I I like I said, congratulations to the Chiefs.
They get a chance, an opportunity to host another a f C championship game.
However, I do think this is gonna be ah, it's gonna be a tough matchup for because, you know, at the end of the day, the Chiefs did give up 31 points, uh, on defense and for a good chunk of that, but especially the first quarter, they looked like and we mentioned this this morning on the show.
They looked like the 2008 Chiefs defense and eventually, eventually they kind of found their groove.
I mean, I think part of that, too, was Ah, you know, the special teams obviously helped swing the momentum in the offense started to pile a point, so it became a little bit easier for them to play defense.
However, that early start to the game is concerning, and you know, we know the Titans are can be very one dimensional.
We know that they're going to run the rock with Derrick Henry, But we also know that Ryan Tannehill, when called upon, is capable of throwing the ball pretty well.
So this could be in it.
Look, the Titans defense is a hell of a lot better then what the Texans offered, especially in the secondary.
So no matter what happens that the Chiefs aren't gonna be able to gain easy yards against this team.
And, Ah, I'd like to get your first impressions on this game, and obviously, I'm sure we're gonna talk about it next weekend before the games kick off and kind of dive into a deeper, but I do want to kind of get your quick impressions before we move on to Ah, Seattle in Green Bay.
You lied, Brandon, or whoever wants start, you start Well, just something Brandon I'm both talked about this morning is a potential X factor.
Turned out to not even playing this game.
We should wear paying a lot of attention.
I'm paying a lot of tension to the Texans injury report.
Really? Like I really should look at the Chiefs and report Medical was there.
He you must find Wednesday injured at practice Thursday at the very end and then didn't practice Friday so that that type of, you know, getting an injury of practice.
Really those those are the ones that a lot of times don't end up.
You know, I'm playing through right, so we should have made you look at that more.
If Chris Jones is able to come back next week, that's a huge boost for the chief's defense.
Um, both in the run game in and ask you, you might.
You might be one of the only humans on the chief's team that could actually tackle Derrick Henry.
Yeah, so his presence and the absence of his presence.
If he doesn't play well, certainly.
Especially against the Titans team. Go ahead, bring it.
Yeah, well, so the Chiefs won this game, You know, this wasn't a Texans. Losses skiing.
The Texans lost that game a second quarter than the Chiefs just decided.
Just a punch him in the face even more.
And, you know, I respect that, because if you have a team that come into your house, put 24 points, you know, and you can tell every team gets a little bit ****y.
You know, when you take a big lead against big team, you know, they're taking all my gosh, His team is nothing.
And that is the first mistake in Kansas City sense, that type of blood.
And that's when they became the swimming sharks and they just munched on them and they didn't stop.
So I just got an image of Arthur Blank dancing cheering on the Falcons.
All right, that's it. I'm sorry.
And I knew you had a match itself.
Every pill I mean again, that's that's another set up.
You talk about a big comeback.
It's kind of hard not to bring up the Patriots, all right, and, you know, I use it as a benchmark, but anyways, go ahead.
But that was my chance. Science.
But I think what Karl said it was if they got lucky, thought Chris Jones.
I'm going to be honest.
I think Chris Jones did.
Having Chris Jones don't hurt him in the beginning.
I think they're about to adjust to it.
If you get Jones back, that is the one guy who could probably tak Derrick Henry alone, you know, and that's that's kind of what you need, because I pray, stressing Derek ever gets tackled by one guy on one play.
Probably wants, like, two years.
He's just a tank and he's a moving tank that she's gonna run you over.
And so I think when you look at this, Tennessee for Skin City previewed, I'm gonna save her for next week.
You gotta focus on, have this Titans defense give it to contain my homes because there's Titans.
Demons, like you said, is so much better than Houston's and a guarantee it's gonna show next week.
You know, obviously we could put the home field into effect put the X factor ineffective Mahomes.
But this Titans defense, I said it from the beginning.
This is a team that no one should want to play.
I don't think any Reed wanted to play this team. You know it.
That's the gut feeling.
So we're gonna It's gonna be a really, really good well, and that's the thing to It's like the loss of Ah Jones in this game.
Coming up against the Titans is going to be far more impact because if he's not on the field, I will easily pick the Titans in this game.
You know, I'm already kind on defense, you know, my heart says Titans to start, but I want to obviously look at it, You know, they beat him the last time that they played.
Obviously, you look back at the playoff match up.
Two years ago, Kansas City blew the 21 to 3 lead against this Tennessee team.
So there's some recent history between the two clubs with obviously some some players that are the same, obviously the big difference being Patrick Holmes was not the quarterback at the time.
However, this Titans team is far better.
I would give them easily the defensive edge, especially after this game.
I know we were kind of singing the praises of Kansas City before this game, however, Uh, when you continue to show some of this vulnerability and show this 2008 version of your defense, it's hard to trust them fully.
So if you're gonna put a gun to my head and say, Hey, who you gonna take easily to Titans defense? Obviously, the offense.
You know, the edge ghost can City.
But this Titans offense with Derrick Henry and without Chris Jones closes the gap significantly.
Because again, if Derek Henry's doing this thing, the Titans can play their game and it keeps my homes off the field.
And it puts the ball in the hands of Ryan Tannehill, who can who has playmakers and can have an impact against this defense. Because guess what.
We saw DeShaun Watson do it in this text in offense to it for much of the game today, even when they couldn't put the ball in the end zone.
So um, yeah, it's gonna be it's gonna be a big thing to watch all week, whether or not he's gonna be healthy enough to go because, um yeah, again on the road.
I honestly would the site and see me wherever they play.
You know, they've gone into New England and into Baltimore and one.
So, um, I don't care if this game is on the moon.
Okay? Efforts in Russia.
I don't care if it's, ah, the island that that that Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley all landed on and you could never get off of I don't care where it is.
They're gonna win this game, you know, they can win this game.
So, um, we'll see.
And Well, like I said, I'm excited to kind of really dive into this game all week, and it should be a pretty good match up, but we're going to shift gears a little bit, cause I know Kyle's excited to talk about this one for sure, but we started with this one second so he wouldn't have any audio issues or anything like that.
But, um, the Green Bay Packers held off a ferocious Seattle Seahawks rally late to advance to the NFC Championship game by the score 28 to 3, and they will head to San Francisco face Jimmy Garoppolo and the San Francisco 49 er.
So first things first, very end of the game.
Biggest two biggest plays of the game came off the arm of Aaron Rodgers, the third and nine to Davante Adams, Beautiful throw and then the final throw to really put the nail on the coffin.
And, um, this is something that we've talked about, where it's like you have the stats are nice stats or flashy, the big.
You know, the big passing numbers are great.
The great ratios, all that stuff.
But the biggest plays come that don't necessarily get put on the statute.
Like, you know, that 30 and eight completion to Davante Adams is not a touchdown.
It's not a ah, you know.
That is gonna, ah, jump off the stat sheet if you just look at it.
It's a big time, third down conversion, a very beautifully thrown ball in a big time moment.
Cause that again, that's a that's a that's a throw.
You have to make him win a game, and that's a game that in the past, at times he hasn't made that throw on.
That's been kind of his you know, when you when When you're kind of putting him up against some of the greats of the greats unit pick.
And that's one of the things you nitpick.
All right, Well, as Aaron Rodgers will guess, what he did that and he played an excellent game to the point of, Like I said, he's making the throes that need to happen.
And right off the bat, those two stuck out to me at the very end of the game and I was very impressed by that.
So, Kyle, I'll give you the floor.
Were your impressions of this game.
Um, do you feel confident going and having this team going to San Francisco? Are you a little concerned going away from Lambeau? Well, first off, I thought there was.
That was two of the three biggest place the game.
I think the 3rd 1 was actually the Packers are on defense that third down sacked by I mean, with everyone making plays.
Preston Smith finally kind of got his shining moment there.
Uh, got around the edge.
You quick recovery on Wilson got there quick enough that he wasn't able to escape so huge.
Get him down on third down and force a punt and really get the last drive that killed the clock after that.
Um, as for next week, I mean, considering the defensive line of the 40 Niners, it is kind of concerned, especially Blogger didn't play.
Today was an illness that was going around with a team.
And, you know, I know Danny by Italian.
The fullback was held out, uh, didn't seem to affect him too much.
They actually used a rookie Jay Stern burger as a fullback when they needed to.
But Malaga was really the only main starter that was affected by this Elvis, and you didn't play.
So having him back will help, but I think it's still pretty concerning.
They have trouble with that defensive line Last time.
I know Corey Lindsley had some trouble.
He made a couple bad lying calls, so maybe he's alert for that, and he won't make it.
Any mistakes or as many mistakes on the you identify the blitzes properly and put people in the right place to make some, uh, good pass protection moments.
Speaking of pass protection on that big plate, Adam's, uh, Aaron shirt gave Rogers time, so I'm something earlier and Jones clearly struggled with it.
Seems like this season he's really taken steps to improving his pass protection, and he was use a big part of it.
Obviously, he had the two rushing touchdowns only 62 yards on the ground.
But when they needed him, sorry when they needed him, he came up and, uh, you made plays both in the running game and passenger.
Now, uh, before you go, Brandon, I am gonna ask you as well, uh, Kyle, we can really pinpoint in that youth in Kansas City game where things swung.
I mean, we brought it up already 10 times the punt, a fake punt, all that stuff.
Obviously, Green Bay looked like they were going to come out and blow the doors off Seattle.
They jumped out to an early lead.
But all too often something we've seen with this team throughout the season, they can jump out early leads What the other team kind of you know, just ticks away.
Takes six ticks, too, to the point where at the end of the game to score is a one score game, and it looks a lot closer to him than what it was in your mind.
What do you think was kind of the moment, um, swinger in favor of Seattle that got them back into this game? Because at one point, like I said, it looks like this was gonna be a pretty, ah, pretty cakewalk, a win for the Packers.
So I'm looking in the third quarter, right after the big touchdown to Atoms, which at the time was the longest play of the game.
Um, you know that, you know, it's 2010 at that point.
The Seahawks, I thought I had a great answer on the the very next drive took up, but I think it was about six and 1/2 minutes of game time, which obviously hurt them.
They don't need that, but it really you know that the Green Bay defense was gassed from that point on, and it seemed like it kind of got their footing again later in the fourth quarter.
But after having such a long drive and the Packers started getting a couple three and outs, they were really tired.
So I think it was that drive.
That's if there's a specific moment on that drive or just in general that that that, uh I guess it's the drive that happened, I guess.
Just a t end of the third quarter.
They scored with less than a minute left in the third quarter.
So about that and the third quarter drive, I think to me, was the real momentum Turner and, uh, you gave gave him hoping to kind of put doubt in the defense's mind that they were gonna be able to hold up to the whole game.
Yeah, teams like teams don't often give you the easy pinpoint the moment when mo mentum shifts like Houston does.
They were very kind to us and gave us a very easy moment to pick on and point to as Thea complete game changer and all this.
So, uh, although to you, Brandon, what were your what were your impressions of this game and what were you? Most, I guess, most impressed by Ah, in terms of what the Packers did to win this game and move on.
I saw two teams specifically to offenses who were battling out for the big prize.
And that's a ticket to the death chamber to go to San Francisco.
So when someone doesn't want me by that.
What I mean by that is I feel like gold.
These kids are gonna be San Francesco.
Do I think that they could? I'm going to say that for next week.
But I saw two defense's who got pressured to two quarterbacks who could get out of these type of lake Hi heavy pressure situations.
But then I also saw them get to this court act like Russell Wilson.
He was able to scramble out 200 defenders of the adventure has brought down that you don't really see from defense If a girl begins Wilson.
And when you talk about this like momentum shift fourth quarter Marshawn Lynch to get the game of 22.
23 I lily said to I was I was head buddy's house.
I looked there was like Holy bleep dreamy is gonna blow it again.
And I thought I thought this was gonna be the momentum shift.
I'm like, Oh, my God, they're gonna do it again.
This is when a Pete Carroll defense comes alive.
They make that big play, you know.
And unfortunately, Aaron Rodgers put the final nail in the coffin with that pass of the bombs out of that was a beautiful throw.
And that kind of sealed the deal.
Although I've got to bring it up because, you know, I'm kind of like this.
That was not a first down from General Grant.
Your arm did not extend his arm.
Did not extend of line is clear as day.
Right there it is.
Tough to notice.
I don't think he goes down right away.
I think that defender kind of coming up and it makes to the knee doesn't hit down right away.
It did kind of seem like you assured.
I thought live watching it for the first time.
I thought he was gonna be short.
Was gonna get work in one.
A little surprising.
They didn't call, so I agree.
But it was super close.
Yeah, And I'm glad you brought that up because, like, here's I I've been I've been looking at it.
Lee, It's it's like that.
That stupid trend from a few years ago.
It's like, What color dress is this? Well, you know, every time.
And it's like what? Every time they showed me a different angle.
I'm like Well, I kind of see it.
I'm like, but the no, I can't really tell.
It's like that's kind of obstructing, But then they see this.
And so I kind of went into with okay, They called it a first down.
It's probably gonna stand.
And I agree with that.
There really was anything else, but I did.
I mean, the the explanation was kind of lied when it's like, Oh, yeah, we got extra video that we're not going to share with you But we're just going to say, believe us.
And I'm like, Wait a minute like and it's just to me, it's It's not like a This isn't a oh, the refs helped the Packers or this That is just it just to me is just the epitome of what we've gone through with the officiating this year.
Uh, just on a whole from from replay toe, just peculiar calls and just suspect Ah, decisions and all that.
And I was just I found it funny.
Do I think it changed the game? Del.
I think at that point it was just a formality.
I think the Packers won that game.
Ah, you know it.
Look, if the sea.
Ha! If the Seahawks, we're gonna win that game, they would have delivered when they had that. Dr.
Ah, with about three and 1/2 minutes left in the game and they couldn't They ended up punting the ball away.
So anything after that, to me, it was like, You know what? You you kind of blew your opportunity.
You were fortunate enough to get one more shot at it.
But for the most part, I mean, that's that's that is what it is.
So I am glad you brought that up, Brandon, because that is, you know, we couldn't have had a NFL playoff game without a little bit of controversy, and I feel like we haven't had that much of it.
Uh, you know so far this year.
So we released this weekend, so I, you know, I'll be I'll be interested to see if we get any decision deciding moments next week, but I hope not.
But let's hope it's nice and clean, you know, fair game.
Maybe they let him play a little bit, get a little a little fisticuffs here, But there's no ****ing come on.
No, that's not an iPhone deal with anything like, All right, well, I'm just saying I'm not saying let them all the players.
I'm just saying, like, you know, let's let's not call every little, ticky tacky thing.
You know, My biggest.
It should be consistent, You know, if you're gonna call it ticky tacky, ticky tacky, it the hell out of it the entire game.
I don't want, you know, calls being changed because it's the fourth quarter is like, Well, we can't call it here.
Well, it's no, you called in the first quarter, Call it in the fourth corps Don't care what time of the game it is.
So But do I have any faith that the rest can do that? Not Not at all.
Um, yeah, it's just it's it's to me.
It's not gonna happen, So I just I just hope I just hope to the and I pray to the football gods that there isn't going to be a topic that we are forced to talk about when it comes to refereeing and decision making.
So, um, look, I I you know, I did pick the 40 Niners to win.
Go our I'm sorry.
I picked the packers to win going into this game, I I like the Seahawks, but there was a lot of things that concern me, and I think some of them did kind of show up.
The slow starts the Thea kind of going absent on offense and again, in a lot of ways, this isn't really on Russell Wilson.
You know if there's one guy that carries a team or than Russell Wilson, I I'd like to know because I don't think there is one out there.
So, you know, again, this isn't on Russell Wilson shoulders, but the offense and the team ******* is a tendency to kind of, you know, disappear a times.
And this is what happened to start the game and you look it bit them in the end because despite putting up 23 points against A against a pretty good team, Ah, you weren't really in this game until the very end.
And even then it was Ah, you know, it was a hope and a prayer that you were able to get into it.
So, uh, it kind of, uh played out the way it did.
I thought the Packers had a really solid game plan coming in.
And ah, you know, I think they're really gonna have to step it up next week because I do think this is gonna be a huge challenge for them, especially.
I know it's hard to beat teams twice in a season, and the 40 Niners happen to be the last time the Packers actually lost the game.
So there's there's a lot of there's a lot of symmetry there if you believe in that and kind of, you know, you know, buy into that type of sports story.
But, um, the Packers didn't only lose, they lost pretty big, and they lost pretty big coming out of a bye week.
So that that is concerning.
And, um, you know, the 40 Niners are far better team, in my opinion, than the Seahawks, despite the fact that they do play each other very well.
We saw that two matchups late in the season between the Seahawks and the 40 Niners.
I do think the 40 Niners are better suited, uh, to go on a long run than the Seahawks.
I think they have a better defense yada, yada, yada.
So this is gonna be a big challenge for the Packers.
And, um, you know, I'm gonna be very interesting to see what kind of game plan they have.
Because I don't know if taken, just, uh, run the ball.
You know what I mean? Like, I don't know.
I think you have to throw the ball a lot against a mix that you know what I'm saying? I don't know.
I I I just don't You can go in thinking, okay? Aaron Jones is going to be just the workhorse, and we're gonna kind of feed the offense through him.
I think this has to be an Aaron Rodgers game.
Um, and I think he can do it.
I just think the 40 Niners are just really, really good.
So I've kind of given away who I think is gonna win earlier on our show.
Previously, however, I'm really gonna make sure that my pick is right and I'm going to really kind of jump into it this week.
So gets the one advantage the Packers might have.
They didn't have in this game in terms of quarterback, I think bread and references.
Jimmy Garoppolo is not the escape artist that Russell or even Rogers is that.
I mean, Packers Packers say.
I know Jimmy Garoppolo in hospitals are different.
Who would have thought the Packers Packers got five sacks in this game? They could have had almost double that amount if it were not for Wilson. Take.
It's impressive, you know, out of the clutches of certain players just whether he threw it away or Iran even really well escape, actually.
So that will be something that they won't have to worry about as much on defense? Um, I think, but yeah, the real challenge here is the Packers offense produced against this for yardage defense.
And we didn't really see much evidence that they could last time.
I think, you know, three keys to success for the Packers.
Here is really to hold the 40 Niners.
I almost want to say the single digit points like the Packers win this game 97 T area.
Do you remember if I did Richard Sherman play in that game? I can't believe so You did.
I think that was before the injury started with him. Okay.
All right. I couldn't remember.
I knew was kind of around that time, but I wasn't quite sure.
So, um, yeah, I mean, that's that's that's the biggest thing.
Can the Packers score consistently against the 40 Niners? And, um, you know what? I I don't have an answer.
And again, I probably lean towards not enough.
And that's kind of where I'm leading when it comes to making this pic.
But again, that could be I could change my mind throughout the week.
We have, ah, you know, whole seven days to break that.
Break that down and we will, and we will be back next Sunday.
Hope obviously Kyle will make the time and join us.
