00:00:06
And this is the Lakers Nation postgame show.
00:00:09
We're breaking down.
00:00:10
The Lakers won 17 toe 107 win.
00:00:13
It looked like it was gonna be a block the whole way ended up getting closer.
00:00:16
It was a little bit nervous.
00:00:17
Time for Lakers fans.
00:00:19
We're gonna break it all down.
00:00:20
Explain what happened first.
00:00:21
Quick, shout out to our sponsor up time, energy drinks.
00:00:23
So energy should feel welcome.
00:00:26
Those you are joining us live coming in from both YouTube live Facebook live as well as periscope.
00:00:32
Any of those outlets fear coming in.
00:00:34
Welcome.
00:00:35
Appreciate It will be taking all of your questions and comments.
00:00:37
Joining me is Chris the masterpiece Masters rocking the new Lakers Beanie Chris, How you doing, man? Happy New Year.
00:00:44
Happy New Year, brother.
00:00:45
I'm great.
00:00:46
How are you hanging in there? Hanging out? You know what a great start to 2020 but it cash that game got a little sketchy towards the end in it.
00:00:53
Yeah, man, That first quarter, though, was amazing.
00:00:55
They came out with hela energy and you know, they got stops defensively they got out.
00:01:01
I mean, it kind of looked like m b A jam out there, Like I was telling you, with all the dunks and what not really hot start.
00:01:06
They were really intense in that first quarter, you know, about the first half.
00:01:10
But I mean, as I was worried about and I'm sure you were, they jumped out to that big lead.
00:01:15
I think they got it by about 30 points in the first quarter.
00:01:18
And then, of course, complacence complacency reared its ugly head.
00:01:22
Come the second half.
00:01:23
And then we got a much closer game there in a kind of a bit of a nail brighter there at the end, which would have been that they would have lost.
00:01:29
That would have been the worst loss of the season.
00:01:31
But luckily they did it.
00:01:32
And, you know, just unfortunately they didn't get to rest.
00:01:35
LeBron are after the Davis wants.
00:01:36
Yeah, exactly.
00:01:38
See, look, I mean, I've already got people that are sounding off in our chat here, but the issue with this game, I mean, first of all, it's a win, and that's great, right? You'll take away.
00:01:47
The Lakers are now 27 7 on the season, which is phenomenal.
00:01:50
They're doing great.
00:01:51
This is a very good team for me, though.
00:01:53
The problem is, and look at the stats.
00:01:55
They're they're great across the board, 26 11 for a D 31 13 and 12.
00:01:59
Get a triple double for LeBron.
00:02:01
You've got Avery Bradley going on for 18 19 for Concho asthma.
00:02:04
Some great performances.
00:02:06
But the numbers that I don't like 38 38 minutes for Anthony Davis.
00:02:11
38 minutes for LeBron James.
00:02:12
They should be at like 28 minutes.
00:02:14
If that right, This is a game where they should not have had to come off the bench in the fourth quarter.
00:02:19
And yet the Lakersbench couldn't hold the sun's off entered a video To their credit, the sun's kept pushing and kept playing hard and all that.
00:02:25
That's that's great, but this was a game.
00:02:27
This was an opportunity missed where the Lakers could have got some rest for Anthony Davis and LeBron James, and they didn't.
00:02:33
Once again, this is becoming a consistent pattern.
00:02:37
Yeah, and I don't know if I'm starting to come around to what you were saying.
00:02:41
Not that I wasn't it initially, but, you know, I don't know if Rondo is.
00:02:45
I mean, Rondo is not gonna quite cut it.
00:02:47
I mean, I don't think the offense is flowing, obviously, when LeBron and 80 go out and I think Rhonda usually has that responsibility or at least he did.
00:02:55
And that small portion of the fourth where they tried to sit down LeBron at 80.
00:03:00
And I mean, they son started eating away at the lead.
00:03:03
I think it got to about 10 points, but from whatever it was like 32 35 36.
00:03:08
I think at one point it wasn't Yeah, go And you and it's just it's worrisome.
00:03:13
I mean way can't rest either one of these guys and even count on the team to be ableto withheld it for or hold down the fort for a good couple minutes.
00:03:23
You know, that's concerning.
00:03:24
And you know, that's obviously something that's gonna need to be addressed, which I'm sure we'll get into.
00:03:29
Yeah, absolutely.
00:03:30
And people are already sounding off about Darren Collison.
00:03:32
Don't worry, guys.
00:03:33
We'll talk all about him.
00:03:34
That big rumor that came out today we will talk about Darren Collison will dive into it.
00:03:38
But for this game tonight, you know, it was just another example of the Lakers offense completely shutting down as soon as LeBron James is off the floor at the start of the fourth quarter.
00:03:47
A few times the ball got thrown to Kyle Kuzma on the wing like they were asking Koosman to bail them out and find a good look.
00:03:53
That's not Kyle Kuzma.
00:03:55
Not at this stage.
00:03:56
Not yet.
00:03:57
He's not the guy.
00:03:58
You could just give him the ball and say, Okay, Cruz, go get us points.
00:04:01
The Lakers don't have that guy right now, and that's been a concern of mine.
00:04:04
That's been one of the things that I think they need to address.
00:04:07
And maybe you can get a little bit of that from Darren Collison If they do wind up adding him but a TTE the same time the start of the game was phenomenal.
00:04:17
I mean, the Lakers went 11 for 11 to start the game shooting.
00:04:20
They absolutely were not missing.
00:04:21
It looked like Pleasantville, that scene where they they don't miss any of their shots on the basketball court.
00:04:26
That's what the Lakers were doing.
00:04:27
They were incredible.
00:04:29
They were getting defensive stops. They're getting turnovers.
00:04:31
Anthony Davis had a few monster dunks. I think he ended.
00:04:34
Aaron Baynes life.
00:04:35
It was ridiculous.
00:04:37
It was.
00:04:38
It was.
00:04:39
It was everything you would want to see as a Lakers fan to start the happens.
00:04:42
That's why I don't want to forget about that.
00:04:45
I don't We have this recency bias where we freak out over what just happened, and rightfully so.
00:04:51
But let's also give credit where credit is due for that first half, because that was a lot of fun.
00:04:56
Yeah, they were on fire, you know.
00:04:57
They were absolutely on fire, and you can you can almost it's hard to blame them and certain points.
00:05:03
I mean, in understanding human nature.
00:05:04
You know what? You go up by a lead like that.
00:05:06
It's hard to keep your foot to the pedal to that same intensity.
00:05:10
But, um, you know, Yeah, they played freaking awesome.
00:05:12
And it, you know, it's just again.
00:05:14
It's unfortunate that it seems to be a pattern with the team.
00:05:18
Whenever we start out this good, it's always in the back of my mind where I think we've seen it.
00:05:24
A few times a season where you know, they just they let their foot off the pedal and all of a sudden the teams start coming back and there's more urgency to play our starters, Allah, LeBron.
00:05:35
And then you know, So I mean, this is just the pattern.
00:05:37
It's something that hopefully that we can fix somewhere here throughout the season.
00:05:41
Where were, you know, obviously by acquisitions, but also just, you know, they can keep the intensity up, even though they come out and out these good starts and maintain that on Dhe, you know, sustain it so we don't have to go through this part of the course.
00:05:56
Yeah, it's one of my pet peeves in basketball.
00:05:57
You know, when you see teams that, like you, said, they take their foot off the gas pedal, they stop doing the things that got them the lead because they want to slow the game down.
00:06:05
Don't give the opponent a chance to come back and all of that, and invariably what you wind up doing is you settle for worse shots on offense, which is essentially like a turnover.
00:06:12
If it's a long enough rebound, that is almost the same as the turnover because the opponent's gonna get out in transition.
00:06:18
A lot of times it leads to easy baskets.
00:06:19
And that's exactly what the Lakers did.
00:06:21
I've got a lot of comments here about Rajon Rondo.
00:06:24
A lot of them jumping out here.
00:06:26
Somebody jnl from YouTube said Koosman looked like Eminem.
00:06:30
Yeah, he didn't start it.
00:06:34
Mr called Slim Shady.
00:06:36
He's got a new hairstyle every every game.
00:06:38
I mean, I've seen some of the comments on some of our shows.
00:06:40
People are worried that he's more concerned about his hair than the games.
00:06:43
At this point, he's, Ah, he's bringing back that Dennis Rodman flare there with different hairstyle each game.
00:06:49
Yeah, you know what? The cruise mode. I thought he played fine.
00:06:52
You know, I wasn't too concerned.
00:06:53
Didn't shoot all that well.
00:06:54
But other than that, well, that, in fact, actually saw some good things from him on the defense events.
00:06:58
All one play in particular, where he switched down in the corner and forced to turn over.
00:07:02
That was something that he wouldn't have done before.
00:07:04
So, you know, Look, the shooting aside, I wasn't, you know, two down on ah cruise.
00:07:08
Um, overall. But but Rondo.
00:07:10
He's got a ton of people talking about.
00:07:11
In fact, there's one that just flew past me, so I didn't see the name on it.
00:07:14
But Chris, they're asking you to put Rondo in the master lock like that's the feeling.
00:07:19
Rajon Rondo right now, what's what's happening with him? Well, um, you know, I don't know exactly what's happening with him, but I know that, like for most of the time.
00:07:28
But I remember you were talking about this.
00:07:29
I think under previous show that you don't like to jump the gun when somebody has a bad game.
00:07:34
I mean, it's the team concept where you pick the guys, pick each other up, guys have bad games or they have bad streets of games, and then you just hope that they can turn it around eventually and start playing back to their numbers.
00:07:47
But, you know, with Rondo it, I don't think we can necessarily give him that leeway because I don't feel like we've gotten a lot of ground Rondo throughout the season.
00:07:55
Really, I don't think he's kind of what we acquired him to do.
00:07:58
He's not really doing out there, and that's what the problem is so like you know, when you're talking about Danny Green and KCP and some of these other guys, they have a bad game.
00:08:06
But then, you know, they usually they turned it around like Casey Piece turned around cruises turned around.
00:08:11
I just I don't feel like we've seen that Rondo, and I think that's what everybody's problem is.
00:08:15
Probably that's commenting is we haven't seen that.
00:08:18
So, you know, it's just It almost feels like Rondo is.
00:08:21
I You know, I don't want to say dead weight, but it's feeling like that at this point.
00:08:26
Yeah, I mean, look, you look at the stat line.
00:08:28
He was a minus 12 on the night, one assist and over for shooting, and that's it.
00:08:33
And one turnover and one foul.
00:08:35
That's it in 15 minutes of play.
00:08:37
He really didn't do much out there tonight.
00:08:39
And the second unit.
00:08:41
Here's the thing, like what you need from Rondo.
00:08:43
If you're going to get the very best out of them, you can't expect him to be the kind of score of the Lakers need off the bench, and that's okay if he can get other people shots.
00:08:51
If he can create shots for other people but isn't gonna score himself.
00:08:54
That's okay.
00:08:55
That's still a useful skill set.
00:08:56
The problem is, it's not happening right now. It's not happening.
00:09:00
He's not.
00:09:01
Ideally, he would be the guy that you give the ball to when LeBron goes out and you say, Okay, you're you're a pro.
00:09:06
You've been in the league for many, many years.
00:09:08
You can set up on offense, you can get guys, looks go do that and make sure that we can continue scoring when LeBron James is out and he's not capable of doing that right now.
00:09:17
And that's why this Darren Collison rumor is so intriguing to me.
00:09:21
Not so much that Collison is gonna be the score that they need.
00:09:23
That's why I would still lean for a guy like like, say, a Derrick Rose or someone like that.
00:09:27
But if you're gonna, I think that he could fill that role that Rondo is not feeling right now.
00:09:32
In terms of being a guy who can set of the players up.
00:09:34
Being a guy who can handle the basketball and not turn it over, being a guy who is going to be able to preserve leads for you.
00:09:42
I think Darren Collison would be a really good fit in that regard.
00:09:45
So that's what people are getting excited about when we see this rumor that Darren Collison is going to be coming.
00:09:49
This is from a dream.
00:09:50
Or Janowski of ESPN is looking at returning to the N v A in February.
00:09:54
He shockingly retired this past summer.
00:09:56
He was high on my list of free agents.
00:09:58
The Lakers should go after and and now it sounds like he's going to come back.
00:10:02
He's targeting February, and he's gonna pick either the Clippers or the Lakers.
00:10:05
It sounds like to join, so I mean, Chris, the it seems like to me, if you can get that and get him without having to give up anything, right, you're just signing is a free agent.
00:10:16
It seems to me like Collison would be a pretty good edition.
00:10:19
Yeah, it doesn't seem like there's any downside to that and, you know, just to go back to Rondo when you look at the stat line.
00:10:25
If you look at Runa stat line and you only see one assist, you know that he's not having a good game because it's not like we got Rondo, necessarily for his scoring or anything like that.
00:10:34
We got him to strictly facilitate.
00:10:36
I know that he's got them big hands and he can grab rebounds and stuff like that, too.
00:10:40
But he's just not a score.
00:10:41
So any time you have Rondo on the court for a game and he's only pulling one assist, you know that.
00:10:47
You know, we're not getting what we need out of him.
00:10:48
So, uh, you know, Derrick Rose sounds awesome.
00:10:51
Darren Collison sounds awesome.
00:10:53
I mean, we just need somebody that's a creator that can come up there and, like, settled things down.
00:10:58
It does not look settled down out there when LeBron and Eddie are not out there specifically, LeBron.
00:11:02
But, you know, obviously, with our two top guys, it's even more prevalent.
00:11:07
Yeah, I mean, today they look very, very lost.
00:11:09
When LeBron and needy weren't on the floor, they looked like they didn't know what to do.
00:11:12
What sets to be in.
00:11:13
And part of that, too, was Troy Daniels was out there.
00:11:15
He was part of it because Alex Crusoe has a calf injury.
00:11:20
Now they did say he just he just had some.
00:11:23
He just had some tightness in his calf.
00:11:25
So it's not like they said, Oh, he tore his calf or anything like that doesn't sound like it's anything serious.
00:11:30
Just it was enough to keep him out of the game.
00:11:31
So not only do you have the bench out there without LeBron, but you've got the bench out there with Troy Daniels, who hasn't been playing a ton lately in place of Alex Caruso, who probably is a better passer than Troy Day. Not probably he is.
00:11:42
A better passer would probably alleviate some of those issues that we saw out there, at least to some degree.
00:11:47
But still, you can imagine that Collison probably provides Maur of what the Lakers need out of a guy like Rondo.
00:11:53
But then here's the problem, though, right? Like, what do you do? Do you bring in Collison and just push Rondo to the side like, Is that going to go over Well, knowing that that Rondo that, like Anthony Davis, wanted to play with Rondo DeMarcus cousins wanted to play with Rhonda.
00:12:08
Like these veteran players like Raja Rondo, they like what he does for them.
00:12:13
I think politically it could be a little bit of a battle If you just bring in Collison and say, Hey, say sorry, this guy's better Even if that's the truth, Yeah, but trip.
00:12:23
You know how it isn't sports.
00:12:24
It's put up or shut up type thing.
00:12:26
And, like, if so, as much as they like, run to a runner who's going out, then he can't contribute.
00:12:31
I mean, we're not just gonna keep him out there because they like him or because they have this past of highlight plays or, you know, they have this, you know, working relationship with Rondo, so to speak, you know, like they everybody who's out there needs to contribute, and they need to do their part.
00:12:46
So, uh, it would be very ridiculous for a D or any one of those guys to, you know, have a big fit over the fact that the guy like Collison came in and just replaced Rondo.
00:12:57
I mean, you just, you know, put Rhonda on the bench, and if there's a situational basis where we need him or you know somebody can't play or whatever, we bring him in, but I don't have a problem with kind of moving him aside at this point and seeing what we could get out of one of those guys that were able to acquire them.
00:13:12
Yeah, yeah, agreed.
00:13:13
Look, it might be an uncomfortable situation for Frank Vogel to deal with, but if you can get him and you can get Collison without having to give up anything, I think you got to do it again.
00:13:22
There are some guys who I think are better fits.
00:13:24
There are some guys that they could target like you would have to make to trade for them, though, like a guy like Derrick Rose.
00:13:29
Or you could go after, say, Jamal Crawford.
00:13:31
I would take Collison over Crawford, but you go after Jamal Crawford, Somebody like that.
00:13:35
There's other players out there.
00:13:36
This isn't Darren Collison or bust, but the point is, the Lakers need somebody.
00:13:40
They are.
00:13:41
It's very clear, and this game showed it.
00:13:43
This game showed that they need somebody who can really run an offense off the bench and preferably someone who can score a CZ.
00:13:49
Well, probably finding the guy who could do both, though, is going to be a really tough task.
00:13:53
So if you can get a veteran point guard like Collison, who could run the show and probably run it at a higher level than the Rondo.
00:13:58
Then I think you got to do it.
00:14:00
But that begs the question.
00:14:01
Chris, the Lakers have a full roster right now.
00:14:03
They're not cutting Dwight Howard, who's the only non guaranteed contract.
00:14:06
So you've got to get rid of somebody in order to make room to bring in a Darren Collison or whoever else they're looking at.
00:14:13
Who do you cut? Well, um, drive by thing. I mean, it's not.
00:14:19
I don't think it's too difficult to answer that.
00:14:21
I mean, really, it comes down to it still comes down to cooker Daniels, really, where? You know, at this point, and I kind of had a question for you.
00:14:28
I know we've had a lot of Andre Iguodala talk, and now we're having a lot of talk about these other guys.
00:14:34
Let's say in a perfect world, is there a way for the Lakers to actually be able to get and Andre Iguodala and one of the guys we've mentioned? I mean, how would that even work? Yeah, yeah, they definitely can't.
00:14:46
They can't.
00:14:47
So if let's say the eagle dollar gets bought out, and Darren Collison also is is wanting to join the Lakers.
00:14:52
You can get both of those guys.
00:14:53
You just have to cut to people in order to do it.
00:14:55
So let's say they pick Quinn, Cook and Quinn.
00:14:57
Cook is guaranteed a $1,000,000 next year, so you're gonna absorb that dead salary on your books next year of a 1,000,000 bucks.
00:15:03
You could cut him.
00:15:04
Troy Daniels.
00:15:05
His contract only goes through this year.
00:15:06
So you cut both those guys and you could bring in the Wood L and Darren Collison.
00:15:09
I think instantly the Lakers would be a better team if you were to make those moves.
00:15:12
You could also get rid of DeMarcus cousins in order to do that, who probably isn't going to play this year.
00:15:18
You could cut him since he's eating up a Rod's response.
00:15:20
It has been nice having him around the team, though.
00:15:23
Maybe there's a slim chance he can come back for the playoffs.
00:15:26
The question is, do you want to hold on just for that? I don't know.
00:15:29
Look, that you're going to cut two guys in order to do it.
00:15:32
If you're gonna bring in these guys and in terms of the salary capital that don't have to worry about it because these guys would be coming over on veteran minimum deals.
00:15:40
At least that's the assumption they'd be veteran minimum deals coming in and and then you have those pieces to your roster.
00:15:45
Now let's say you want to go after a Derrick Rose, though, who's making right around like seven million or so for the Detroit Pistons? And he's got a deal that goes next year, so he's probably not getting bought out.
00:15:55
That's where you've got to put together the pieces of a trade and give the Piston something in order to make it work.
00:16:00
So if let's say that you get Iguodala for free, right like you do, you get.
00:16:05
He gets bought out by Memphis, which again they're still saying they won't do it.
00:16:08
But let's say it happens.
00:16:09
Let's say he gets bought out by Memphis.
00:16:11
And so you add in that wing defender and Iguodala.
00:16:14
Now you can take whatever you can scramble together whatever things you have left, and you can try to make a run and say it. Derek roads.
00:16:20
So there's options there.
00:16:22
What would be really hard to d'oh is to try to trade for both of those pieces that we think they need.
00:16:26
And that's a a scoring guard who can come off the bench and run an offense a little bit, too.
00:16:32
And a wing defender trying to trade for both of those would be really, really difficult.
00:16:36
I don't think they have the assets to pull that off.
00:16:38
So I think if you're the Lakers, you need to get at least one of those things off the bio market coming in as a free agent where it doesn't cost you any assets.
00:16:46
Yeah, so I mean, that essentially means we buy, you get all in, Then we be trading necessarily for one of these parts.
00:16:51
I again I think it just comes down really to me.
00:16:55
I mean, if we're still I don't see us getting rid of a CZ.
00:16:58
Muchas were saying we can bench Rondo.
00:16:59
I don't see them getting rid of Rondo necessarily.
00:17:02
But I could see them getting rid of, uh, we're trading Cook and Daniels, and I don't think anybody is really gonna blink on that because we haven't seen them really come through this season at all For us, not in even one game, really, That I can think of where they even had a streak of scoring or great defense.
00:17:18
I don't know.
00:17:19
I mean, maybe granted, we've had quite a few games now, so maybe there's something I missed.
00:17:22
I'll leave it to you to maybe interject on that, but I just I don't think we've got seen anything from them.
00:17:28
At this point.
00:17:29
I wouldn't I wouldn't even blink if we ended up trading those guys at this point.
00:17:34
And I don't like saying that because, you know, it just feels mean.
00:17:37
I mean, I love our team and everything, and I don't like to just, you know, treat these guys and really talk about his assets or whatever.
00:17:43
But they're people and whatnot.
00:17:45
And, uh, you know, you mentioned the Boogey Thing to which I know we've talked about before.
00:17:49
I mean up.
00:17:50
For whatever reason, I like the idea of keeping Boogie.
00:17:54
Maybe it's partially because the guy had such a tough last year and 1/2 and he's been with the team every single game like I've literally seen him at every game, and I don't think he's required or has to show up to every game.
00:18:05
The guys, you know how such terrible injuries and whatnot in rehabbing.
00:18:09
But again, it could pay dividends at the enforce that were ableto Maybe we keep him through next season.
00:18:14
And then we have that floor spacing big that we talked about so again.
00:18:19
To me, it just goes back to the two guys that previously Yeah, look, I mean, those you're right, they're good guys.
00:18:25
Quinn Cook and Troy Daniels.
00:18:27
The question is, what have they provided? And really not Not much on both good guys and team chemistry is a real thing, and you don't want to upset that.
00:18:34
But at the same time, if you can get upgrades and maybe it's something you have to look at me hell, look, the Lakers treated Derek Fisher, right? I mean that.
00:18:41
That's something that happened.
00:18:42
And Fisher was her.
00:18:43
The rock, right? And he has that, and that hurt right? But that was they felt like they had to make, so sometimes you have to do those things in order to get the win.
00:18:52
You know, that's just it's it's the way it goes in order to to eventually win a championship.
00:18:57
Sometimes you have to make really tough decisions.
00:19:00
Uh, look, I mean, when when the Lakers treated Eddie Jones like that was brutal was brutal.
00:19:05
That was That was one of the was a fan favorite, one of the best players right on the team.
00:19:09
And they traded him way in order to get a better fit.
00:19:11
Sometimes you have to make those tough, tough decisions.
00:19:15
Um, s O if some people have asked about Derrick Rose, How well is he playing this year? As I've mentioned him a few times now, eyes averaging 16.
00:19:22
8 points right now, 5.
00:19:23
9 assists in 24.
00:19:25
4 minutes.
00:19:26
So he's putting up almost 17 points in just 24 minutes like he's really good guys.
00:19:31
This is a really good player.
00:19:33
Would the Pistons get rid of him? Yeah, but they they're going to need something for him because pistons aren't doing well, but they'll want something in return.
00:19:40
They're not just going to give them away for free or anything like that.
00:19:42
But yes, Derrick Rose is very good.
00:19:44
My only concern is well to concerns the defense, and he's only shooting 33% from deep, so that's not great.
00:19:51
But here's the thing.
00:19:52
Like if the Lakers have the option of, say, parting with Troy Daniels and Quinn Cook and another something minor in order to go get a Derrick Rose, I would rather do that.
00:20:05
Then get Darren Collison for free.
00:20:07
And I'll tell you, why is that? I think Derrick Rose has another level he can get to know.
00:20:11
He's not M v p Derrick Rose anymore, but he's gonna have some blowup games.
00:20:15
He's gonna have some games where he goes for 25 he wins you the game like that's gonna happen a few times this season.
00:20:21
Maybe that windy a playoff series.
00:20:23
Darren Collison doesn't have that.
00:20:24
He doesn't have that next level to get to you because he's never He's never been that level of player, right? Uh, that's so that's where I give the nod to Derrick Rose.
00:20:32
He'd be my target one, right, but Collison to get him for nothing, we would not be a A zero sum move like that would be a good move as well.
00:20:40
So, um, some options out there, but, you know, like we said, some tough decisions are gonna have to be made by replica over the next, What, six weeks or so before the trade deadline hits? Yeah, I think you really got me sold action on this Derek Roasting because I know one thing for sure, and I haven't seen a ton of Derrick Rose lately.
00:20:58
But I know that Derrick Rose just last season had that 50 point game.
00:21:01
I believe it was so.
00:21:03
I mean, you know, obviously the guy's still got some gas in the tank.
00:21:06
If he's able to go out there and put up 50 unless I'm wrong.
00:21:08
Did he not put up a 50 game point game last season? Derrick Rose? I don't think he did.
00:21:14
That sounds right.
00:21:15
Well, the fact of the matter is this.
00:21:16
We know based on what we've seen from guys like Cook and, uh, Daniel's, that Derrick Rose is gonna give us more than what we have right now. That's for **** sure.
00:21:26
Yeah, And he would definitely be a calming and settling force for us to bring up off the bench to run with some of our bench guys.
00:21:34
So I'm completely sold on that. You did a good job trip.
00:21:37
Well, Thanks.
00:21:38
I, uh you know, I don't know that it's something that he's actually gonna even be available, right? Like, we don't know that for sure.
00:21:45
We're just saying that type of player would be on kind of guy.
00:21:47
You know, Dennis Schroeder's another guy that's getting getting a lot of comments here in our chat.
00:21:53
That's the same kind of guy, right? Same time player.
00:21:55
Shorter's obviously younger and all of that.
00:21:57
But that style of player is somebody that that you could certainly use.
00:22:01
I do want to dive into some of the questions that are on here.
00:22:04
Um, one question that I found found was really interesting.
00:22:06
If you had to give up Caruso in order to get Derrick Rose, do you do it? Who? Wow, that's home, right? Yeah.
00:22:16
So good defensively.
00:22:17
Yeah.
00:22:18
Who? Man, I I, you know, based off what Dirk Rosewood bring.
00:22:24
There's a good chance that I might do that, but I'm not.
00:22:28
I'm not completely sold at this point.
00:22:30
I think part of that is that you know, we like Caruso a lot here in L.
00:22:34
A.
00:22:35
I mean, he's a sentimental favorite to us, so I don't know if maybe That's just kind of playing into it.
00:22:40
But I know that I do feel like if we did get a guy like Derrick Rose, we would get, you know, I don't know we made Maybe we would take a hit on the defensive end.
00:22:49
That's a really tough question.
00:22:50
Honestly, what do you think? Yeah, I mean, look, it's it's hard because I like what he's done on defense, but I feel like you've kind of got a guy who could do that in Avery Bradley.
00:23:00
There's a little bit of duplication there between Bradley and Caruso.
00:23:03
Uh, I hate treating a younger player like that, but at the same time, Rose would provide a lot of what the Lakers could use.
00:23:11
So I think I probably do it.
00:23:13
But it be tough speaking, which Stephen Strong wants us to mention Avery Bradley.
00:23:17
We should have talked a bit more about him already.
00:23:19
Uh, this is the Avery Bradley game we've been waiting for, right? Like this is the gate.
00:23:23
He was great defensively.
00:23:24
He was active.
00:23:25
He was all over the place.
00:23:27
Uh, So look, Avery Bradley on the night.
00:23:30
18 points, Five boards, three steals, nine of 11 shooting.
00:23:33
His shot has abandoned him since he came back.
00:23:36
This is the first good shooting performance room.
00:23:38
Maybe Avery Bradley heard the Darren Collison rumors.
00:23:41
And that old man, I'd better start hitting some shots.
00:23:43
And I guess Roger's Rondo didn't hit.
00:23:44
Didn't hear them because he, he, uh he did kind of no show tonight.
00:23:48
Avery Bradley.
00:23:49
The great performance from him Are we hoping for? Are expecting more of this out of him or what? We think we're we out on him at this point.
00:23:56
Yeah, well, like I was texting you during the game is great to see Avery Bradley kind of have a breakout game again because he's just he's come back from the injury, and we haven't seen anything like this from him and again, I think he goes back to what we've seen out of a few of our players, even coups.
00:24:09
And, um, you know what Not it's like, you know, when they come back from these injuries, it's not like they come back and they're automatically at game speed.
00:24:15
You know what? It takes a few games to really get in, get your legs under you and get back to that n b A style pacing.
00:24:22
So it just looks like Avery Bradley finally was really feeling himself tonight and feeling like himself because he really just I mean, shooting wise.
00:24:29
He was exceptional, but outside of that, he just kind of really looked like Avery Bradley that we were used to before the injury, which is great to see.
00:24:35
And, uh, yeah, like So it was great to have a good a good outing for Avery Bradley like this.
00:24:41
You know, I feel like we're kind of trapped in a time loop or something here because this keeps happening and people keep getting upset with players and frustrated that they're not coming out of the gate straight off of an injury and playing just lights out.
00:24:54
It takes time to get your legs that Look, look how long it took Lonzo ball to get going.
00:24:58
Last year, right when he was coming off of injury, it felt like it was months.
00:25:02
And then he had a whole another level, right? He was great.
00:25:05
In fact, that Houston game where he got hurt, he was phenomenal up until that point and that we saw the same thing on a cow.
00:25:10
Kuzma it took a while for him to get his legs back under him.
00:25:13
In fact, he had to go back and sit out games in order to get 100%.
00:25:17
And now we saw him throw down a hammer dunk that looked like the most athletic play that we've seen from him this season.
00:25:22
Right? Avery Bradley, now doing the same thing, had a similar type of injury, a leg injury where you can't train through that.
00:25:28
And now he's got a few weeks under his belt here, finally getting his legs under him a little bit, and he has a good performance.
00:25:34
Sometimes you just gotta be patient with these guys that are coming off injury and understand that even if they're healthy enough to play, that doesn't mean their rhythm, their timing, all of that is gonna be at the level that we're expecting.
00:25:46
Sometimes it takes a little bit time, and we just gotta be patient.
00:25:49
Yeah, and kind of get add on to that.
00:25:53
You know, the thing is, you know, when you're out to that extent, it's not like, you know, there's nothing that simulates actual game time like actually being in the game and I can tell you that just even throw through my wrestling career.
00:26:05
There was nothing that simulate hated being in the ring in front of an audience than actually being in the ring in front of an audience.
00:26:12
And I'm sure it goes the same thing with these guys.
00:26:14
I mean, I know they're training.
00:26:16
They're practicing, you know.
00:26:17
They're doing two on Tuesday, three on threes, four on fours, even.
00:26:21
But, like, you know, when you're doing those games and practice, I mean, it's just it's not exactly the quite same speed is when you get out there and you're on, you know you're in a real game, you know, in front of 10 15,000 people online TV.
00:26:34
It's just a whole different animal there.
00:26:36
So I mean, that's why you know, like, you were saying a lot of the fans they need Thio kind of kick back on these guys a little bit and realize that, like it's gonna take them a few games because they can't simulate these games when they're not, You know, in front of the camera where they're not on television or at a real game, they just can't do it.
00:26:53
So they're doing it in front of us, they come back.
00:26:55
They don't necessarily have a great game coming back because it takes a few games to really get back to that point again.
00:27:01
Yeah, that's that's a great point that there is no way to simulate this, right, Just like you said, there's no way to simulate the adrenaline you're going to feel when you step into the ring right When you've got a huge crowd around you, they're all cheering or they're all booing.
00:27:13
Depending on what role you're in.
00:27:15
There's no way to simulate that in training or in practice, right? No, not at all.
00:27:19
I mean, there's just there's no, it's just it's a completely different speed, you know? I mean, that's like even when these guys are practicing their not probably practicing at that same n b a speed, and it's just, you know, it's human nature, you know? I mean, there's ah ah, level of urgency that might not necessarily be there, you know, because it's not the it's not the big dance or what not? Yeah, exactly.
00:27:39
And you know what I've got? Ah, comment here on on periscope from Antonio must die, said uh, Bradley shot selection is horrible.
00:27:49
He would be better off driving and looking for contact.
00:27:52
I get that right now in the game.
00:27:54
Today, all the rage is you want to take either lay ups or threes or free throws, right? Those are the three things that are basically allowed in today's MBA.
00:28:03
That's the Houston Rockets model, right? You don't shoot mid range or long tubes those in the most inefficient shots in the game unless you make them if you're very, very good.
00:28:14
Hitting mid range twos and defense is today are set up in order to give up those shots.
00:28:18
And that's why we see Avery Bradley get open on so many of them.
00:28:21
If you can knock them down at a high enough clip, then that's a fine shot.
00:28:26
If you're hitting it efficiently enough, the problem is, most people are going to hit long twos as efficiently as they would if they attack the basket.
00:28:33
If they get the line, or at some point, you might as well shoot the three.
00:28:36
But for Avery Bradley, if his shot is that long to is that pull up jumper from 15 to 20 feet, then great He just has to be efficient enough at it.
00:28:46
And so, you know, he hasn't been shooting well from three.
00:28:48
And if the long tubes can get him going and he's making them, I don't have a problem with it.
00:28:53
Yeah, and that ****ytics thing.
00:28:55
I mean, honestly, I understand it, but it completely drives me crazy, especially when I see the Houston Rockets.
00:29:01
And like you've seen some of those games they've had, like in the playoffs last year, where they live and die by that theory of, like, only a three point where you get to the rim like and then you go out there and you shoot, like, horribly from the three point line.
00:29:13
I forgot how many degrees they missed him.
00:29:14
That those last games, that missing the playoffs.
00:29:16
But you know, like I understand the idea behind it, but it's the best possible shot that comes to you is a mid range.
00:29:24
I mean, you just you gotta take that.
00:29:25
You can't just I don't.
00:29:26
I just I don't buy into that old Houston Rockets thing that it has to be three pointer or you get to the rim because you know there's gonna be situational basis.
00:29:37
There's gonna be certain possessions where hey, that three pointer isn't there there defending it? Or they built a wall going to the paint and the mid range, like we just talked about, is opened up for these guys, and it just ends up being the best shot available.
00:29:49
I mean, two points is still better than no points.
00:29:53
You don't mean if we're trying to settle for just the three year, they can't get to the rim.
00:29:57
Absolutely, absolutely.
00:29:58
I mean, the question is points per possession.
00:29:59
It's not so much, so much.
00:30:01
Hey, you could only shoot these shots.
00:30:02
It's how many points per possession are you generating if you shoot.
00:30:05
If Avery Bradley shoots Ah 100 mid range jumpers, right, and he can generate enough points off of that, then then you'll take it right.
00:30:13
If he can generate as many points as he could, as if he was driving to the basket and the opponents are giving you those shots, then take him right.
00:30:20
If they're there now, it's a little bit different.
00:30:22
If it's Dwight Howard, right, who's being given an 18 footer every single time, and he's not gonna make that many of them, then you don't want him shooting that because it's not gonna be an efficient scoring option, right? It's not so much that you have to only shoot layups.
00:30:34
You have to shoot threes, any of that.
00:30:36
You can shoot mid range jumpers, even though today we're just kind of conditioned to see those and go automatically.
00:30:42
That's a bad shot.
00:30:43
No, it's a good shot if you make it high enough.
00:30:44
Percentage of them think like Richard Hamilton, Right? Rip Hamilton lived on mid range jumpers because he was great coming off the screens, and he was super efficient at it.
00:30:53
That's that's what he did.
00:30:54
He didn't shoot a ton of threes or anything.
00:30:56
Do Martin Rose and does that Brandon Ingram that last year for the Lakers and became extremely efficient in that mid range game.
00:31:02
You can do that and still be an efficient player in today's ****ytics driven and be a uh, let's get into a few more of these questions.
00:31:10
Make sure we get the fans.
00:31:13
Let their voice be heard here.
00:31:16
Uh, Charles Dolphin as a great Charles Dolphin from Facebook.
00:31:22
Uh, I'm like running through poor Pa's puns here right now.
00:31:27
my head's I will.
00:31:28
I will save you guys and not say any of them.
00:31:30
Would you trade for Kevin Love? If so, who would you trade? Chris, I'm gonna let you take first crack of this.
00:31:38
Do you Do you trade for Kevin Love, If that's an option? Um, I don't think so.
00:31:44
Because I don't really know what role he's necessarily gonna play or what? Well, he's gonna fill.
00:31:48
I mean, I don't see us having a problem, Really? At that position from, Well, you know, again, we you and I know what what it comes down to.
00:31:55
It comes down to us for a wing defender and shock reader, and I don't think Kevin Love really falls into any one of those.
00:32:02
So I mean, I just I don't know who you'd be giving up or where you're looking to replace.
00:32:07
I know he works.
00:32:08
He plays the power for position.
00:32:09
But, I mean, I think we're pretty solid at that position.
00:32:12
Yeah, I agree.
00:32:13
I think he could be a small ball five, I guess, but, you know, Yeah, he could, but, I mean, not not permanently or anything.
00:32:20
Uh, let's just to go over some numbers.
00:32:22
31 million.
00:32:24
I'm sorry.
00:32:25
28.
00:32:26
9 million this season than 31.3 million.
00:32:28
31.3 million and 28.9.
00:32:30
Again, His contract runs through 2023.
00:32:34
So, no, I wouldn't trade for Kevin Love just because that contract Ah, he is 31 years old.
00:32:40
I think that that's Ah, that's gonna be a pretty tough contract to swallow in a few years.
00:32:44
On top of that, you've got the issue where the Lakers don't have the contracts to match up to that deal.
00:32:50
So it's an impossible.
00:32:52
Okay, nothing's impossible.
00:32:53
But it would be extremely difficult to put together enough contracts to treat for Kevin Love, even just just to logistically make it happen.
00:33:00
Not to you.
00:33:01
Look at it doesn't make sense basketball wise, just to assemble enough contracts to make a treat legal would be all but but impossible to do.
00:33:09
And then when you look at the basketball side of things, Chris, like you said, they they don't need help of the power forward.
00:33:14
You've got Kyle Kuzma there.
00:33:15
You've got Anthony Davis.
00:33:16
LeBron James can play there.
00:33:18
That's the one spot they probably are power forward and center.
00:33:20
Probably two spots that you don't need help, that you need a guy who can score off the bench, preferably from the guard position.
00:33:26
You also need a wing defender.
00:33:29
Those are things you need.
00:33:30
Kevin Love isn't either of those things.
00:33:32
I'm not giving up a bunch assets.
00:33:33
I think he's a good player.
00:33:34
He's just not somebody that the Lakers need right now.
00:33:37
He doesn't fill a need for a championship contending team.
00:33:40
Ah, here's another question.
00:33:41
Trevor and Chris Masters, please put on your GM hat.
00:33:44
Tell us what you would do.
00:33:45
It trades or cuts or buyouts so we can have a great team for the playoffs.
00:33:49
Or would you just wait until the trade deadline in February? So we've kind of gone over this, But if there's anything you could do Ideally, Chris, what would you do to make this team a championship contender? Or do you just stand pat and say, You know what? They're good.
00:34:03
No, no, not I do not stand pat at all.
00:34:05
I mean, we've already seen.
00:34:07
I mean, we know we're a good team, but again, we've played the Clippers twice and we've seen some deficiencies in our team.
00:34:12
So I think we definitely need to make some changes.
00:34:15
And I'd be really shocked if we don't make any changes, because that would just be saying that.
00:34:18
Okay, we're fine as is, but I don't think we're fine asses like, Yeah, we're gonna win a lot of games.
00:34:23
We got LeBron James and Anthony Davis, but when it comes down to it, we're still not matching up quite well with the top tier of the N B A like, yeah, we're beating these lesser teams.
00:34:32
And yes, we have beaten beating good teams as well.
00:34:36
But, I mean, we've gone up against the Clippers twice already.
00:34:39
We've seen kind of how that how that is ended.
00:34:42
And I think that we definitely have to be active in looking at making some kind of changes.
00:34:47
Now, I'm not as good with you in terms of the numbers and the contracts and making the money work and all that stuff.
00:34:53
But I would definitely not just leave the team as is.
00:34:56
We have to make some changes.
00:34:58
And again, I would just be completely shocked that we went into the postseason.
00:35:02
But this exact team Yeah, I would as well.
00:35:04
I agree.
00:35:05
I think the bio mark it will be kind of the Lakers because they are the exact kind of team that by the players were bought out.
00:35:11
Want to go join a team that's got a chance for a championship of veteran team? That's S o.
00:35:16
I think there's gonna be some options there for them.
00:35:18
Ah, a few questions here for we We wrap up one person from YouTube asking, Can we trade for Bradley Beal? Uh, no.
00:35:25
For a few reasons. His salary is enormous.
00:35:27
The Wizards just re signed him to a new deal, and they're not treating him.
00:35:30
So no, that's that's not going to work.
00:35:35
J. J Red**** would be nice.
00:35:37
Sure, he'd be a nice shooter for the Lakers.
00:35:39
Could could use his shooting.
00:35:41
But again, are the pelicans gonna be super thrilled? The trading with the Lakers? Probably not.
00:35:46
Probably not.
00:35:47
I don't think that's necessarily gonna happen.
00:35:49
Ah, Few people talking about players like Dion, waiters J.
00:35:52
R.
00:35:53
Smith, Jeff Green, give a preference with those guys.
00:35:55
The guys were already off free of any team.
00:35:59
They're already free agents now, not J.
00:36:01
R.
00:36:02
Smith, because I think, You know, I just I don't like Yeah, I just Well, it's not even that he can't play.
00:36:07
It's just I don't necessarily like that fit for our team.
00:36:10
I don't feel like it's necessarily what we need.
00:36:12
I know he's instant offense and whatnot, but I mean, you know, I just I don't think we need that.
00:36:17
I don't know where the other two guys you had mentioned it was Dion waiters who right now well, Dion waiters is with Miami.
00:36:22
Still, kind of.
00:36:23
They haven't been super thrilled with him.
00:36:25
But Dion Waiters Jeff Green, J.
00:36:27
R.
00:36:28
Smith.
00:36:29
I'd lean Jeff Green out of that group.
00:36:30
Why, Honestly, Dion waiters would be great out here in California with his much as he likes to do the edibles of what you know, he's a good option.
00:36:38
And then who was the other guy? Did you say it was Jeff Green? Oh, Jeff Green.
00:36:43
Uh, I just I don't definitely not J R.
00:36:46
Smith. I'm not sure about the other two, quite frankly.
00:36:48
What do you think? Yeah, you know, I would lean Jeff Green.
00:36:50
I just think that he's got the He fits the profile.
00:36:54
What the Lakers need a three and DIY type player.
00:36:56
Long lanky wing defender.
00:36:58
Uh, that's who I would go on.
00:37:00
But again, I would hold out for Andre would L.
00:37:01
A.
00:37:02
And see if there's a way to get him first.
00:37:04
Let's look ahead.
00:37:05
So the Lakers take on the Pelicans on Friday.
00:37:08
You get lungs a ball coming back in town, you get Brandon Ingram, Josh Heart.
00:37:12
All the former Lakers Zion Williamson is not back yet.
00:37:16
What do you think about that matchup? What's the reception gonna be like for those guys on? Are we over at home? This is our home stand now.
00:37:22
I you know I would.
00:37:25
There's no reason to have any beef with those guys.
00:37:27
Those are basically I always look at New Orleans like the Baby Lakers were.
00:37:30
You know, they're like our kids that we had to send off the boarding school or something.
00:37:35
You know, I like all those guys.
00:37:36
That was unfortunate that we had to get rid of him.
00:37:38
But I understood that, you know, my the timeline doesn't match up with LeBron.
00:37:42
LeBron needs the win out.
00:37:43
But, you know, I'm still just waiting.
00:37:45
I'm dying to see that pelicans team.
00:37:48
Was I on play the Lakers, cause I mean, I was just all this past summer.
00:37:53
I just kept thinking about what's he gonna look like with Lonzo ball handling the ball? And Zion, will you Williamson on the break? Because, I mean, that's gonna be like, Showtime s right there.
00:38:02
You're gonna see some awesome stuff, but, I mean, quite frankly, I think the Lakers I mean, we I think we have a soccer schedule now, including the pelicans.
00:38:10
I think we're probably gonna dominate that one.
00:38:12
We're at home again.
00:38:13
And, you know, I hope that Brandon and Lonzo and Hard all have good games.
00:38:17
But of course, I hope they lose, and I'm pretty sure they will.
00:38:20
You know what? I would love to see Lorenzo and Ingram has been phenomenal.
00:38:24
Okay, I think he was just player of the week.
00:38:26
The pelicans have been much better recently.
00:38:27
They're starting to figure things out.
00:38:29
Drew Holiday is a dangerous player.
00:38:31
This isn't just a gimme game.
00:38:32
The pelicans have been bad, but they've shown signs of life with last week, week and 1/2.
00:38:36
They've been really good.
00:38:37
So I think this is gonna be a battle.
00:38:39
I think that Lonzo and I think that that heart and B, I think they're all gonna get cheers and they should.
00:38:44
There's no reason to move these guys.
00:38:46
They didn't ask to be traded or anything like that.
00:38:48
These guys all got shipped out for a reason.
00:38:50
Nobody's complaining, right? You got Anthony Davis. He's tremendous.
00:38:55
Nobody is regretting that trade or anything.
00:38:57
So I expect cheers for all three of those guys.
00:38:59
I'd love to see them have good games, but ultimately they need to have good games in a losing effort.
00:39:04
I want to see the Lakers get the win.
00:39:06
First and foremost.
00:39:07
That's gonna be important.
00:39:08
And then and then from there.
00:39:09
Yeah, okay.
00:39:10
I want to see these guys grow.
00:39:11
I want to see them develop and kind of like you.
00:39:13
I see them as almost like an offshoot of the Lakers and my head there. The Pel Acres.
00:39:17
Okay, They're not even pelicans.
00:39:18
I want to see these guys play well, do well and then have successful careers.
00:39:22
And so far, Brandon Ingram is the guy who's really stepped it up.
00:39:26
Yeah, I was a big fan.
00:39:27
I mean, I was I really loved.
00:39:29
Actually, I know a lot of people are necessary Big Amancio ball.
00:39:31
But I really like Lonzo Ball the way he set the pace for the team.
00:39:35
Some of the outlet passes.
00:39:37
I mean, obviously, when he went to the free throw line, it scared the hell out of me a lot of time watching that and seeing him shoot.
00:39:43
But, I mean, I think he did a great job of, you know, facilitating running the offense.
00:39:48
And I just love the pace the team played at Brandon Ingram would show signs or flashes of, you know, what looked to be potential greatness.
00:39:57
You know, I don't know if that's maybe taking it too far, but, uh, yeah, you know, I'm fans of all those guys.
00:40:03
I know that they didn't want to leave either.
00:40:04
As you were saying, they didn't want to leave.
00:40:06
They were kind of just They were booted out of town.
00:40:09
Pretty much so.
00:40:10
Uh, yeah.
00:40:11
I think Staples Center will get behind them a little bit when they come in on Friday.
00:40:14
I think Brandon Ingram could have a legitimate All Star All Star consideration here.
00:40:19
He's got a He's got a case.
00:40:20
I mean look, just their last game.
00:40:22
They actually just beat the Houston Rockets knows of Rockets team playing without without Russell Westbrook and without James Harden.
00:40:30
So again, Do you want to get too ahead of ourselves here? But Loves will put up a triple double 27 10 Attend Drew Holiday had 25 5 assists and Brandon Ingram had 27 64 and two.
00:40:42
Like, they all look good.
00:40:44
They've been good.
00:40:45
They've been playing well, And, uh, yeah, I'm excited.
00:40:47
Well, Josh Hart was over eight that game, but otherwise, this is for everybody that's looking at this pelican's game thingy.
00:40:53
Oh, it's an easy win again.
00:40:55
This team has gotten better.
00:40:57
Okay, in fact, they're as of right now, they're on a four game winning streak and they haven't played since last Sunday, and the Lakers game is their next game.
00:41:05
So they've got this long break here, so they're going to be well rested and ready to run to the Staples Center.
00:41:10
But again, they've won their last four.
00:41:13
They've been playing well.
00:41:14
Don't expect this to just be an easy win.
00:41:16
And the team they beat the Blazers, they beat the Nuggets they beat the Pacers.
00:41:19
The Nuggets of the Pacers both have wins over the Lakers and the pelicans just beat them.
00:41:23
Uh, they're this team is better than what we've seen before.
00:41:26
So don't assume that this one's gonna be an easy win.
00:41:29
And there's one more thing I would add to that tramp it.
00:41:31
I think if I have this right, uh, Lonzo Ball didn't even play in the last time the pelicans played the Lakers.
00:41:37
You gotta imagine Lonzo Ball.
00:41:39
Brandon ing of Josh Hart.
00:41:40
They're gonna have a little extra motivation on Friday, especially coming back to Staples Center.
00:41:45
It's just like you're saying this is not gonna be a a definite win already.
00:41:49
Think, press, because those guys are gonna come in with chips on their shoulders.
00:41:51
They're gonna want, you know, show off in front of the L A.
00:41:54
Fans, their previous home, and you know, you never know.
00:41:57
I mean again, these guys have all the motivation to go out and play as hard as possible just to ah, you know, kind of road in LeBron and Robert Lincoln, everybody's face.
00:42:06
So that will be interesting to see.
00:42:08
Yeah, it's gonna be a lot of fun, can't wait, excited to see them back and again.
00:42:11
Hopefully it all ends in a Lakers win.
00:42:14
Last thing I want to throw out here.
00:42:15
A lot of people have been asking about Taelon.
00:42:17
Horton Tucker did some amazing things in the D League.
00:42:20
Put up like 36 points.
00:42:21
I want to say he had, like, 10 boards and seven says or something like that.
00:42:24
Ah, big stat line.
00:42:26
I'll have to look it up.
00:42:27
But he did, and I don't even care so much about stats cause G League stats get over inflated, but he's looking explosive off the bounce.
00:42:34
He's throwing some incredible passes.
00:42:36
If you If you haven't seen the South Bay Lakers highlights, go check it out and get ready to get excited about tailing Horton Tucker again.
00:42:43
I want to treat patients with him.
00:42:45
He's super super young, But the Lakers may have really found something here in this kid because look, I'm not expecting to do anything this season.
00:42:52
I don't know if I'm even expecting much out of him next season, but he's got a skill set that is really, really intriguing.
00:42:59
Once he puts it all together, he's showing some flashes of some really impressive things out there, and I'm getting pretty excited about what we've seen from him.
00:43:06
So again, if you haven't done it, go take a look at what tailing Horton Tucker is doing for the South Bay Lakers. DeVante K.
00:43:13
Kaka's.
00:43:14
Well, these kids are good, and at some point we're going to see them get an opportunity to play a bit for the Lakers this season.
00:43:19
Who knows? Exactly win, But But I'm excited for when that does happen, because the Lakers have some interesting pieces coming up through what's becoming the farm system here in the delete.
00:43:30
Did they not have him come up and play a few minutes? Actually, this season, was he not the one who was crossing over people and whatnot? Yeah, yeah, he did.
00:43:38
He cross the people he's throwing.
00:43:40
No look passes.
00:43:41
Pretty impressive stuff.
00:43:42
Yeah, I can't even think of how, but I know we got a little bit of time, but, you know, these guys need to develop, but, you know, that's exactly what they're doing.
00:43:49
And it's gonna be really interesting to see what comes out of that.
00:43:52
Yeah.
00:43:53
Yeah.
00:43:54
So that's why we've got this stretch here of opponents who aren't that great, right? And so this is where I want to see some blowouts.
00:43:59
While some of those guys were called up because I'd love to see them gets abroad and see them out there on the floor against N ba talent would be great to see.
00:44:07
All right, guys, I think we should call a night there.
00:44:09
Appreciate all the comments coming in, everybody giving us your thoughts, your questions, all of that.
00:44:13

00:44:20
Sad news today in the N b A.
00:44:22
That David Stern did pass away, uh so obviously want to say rest in peace to one of the best commissioners in all of sports.
00:44:30
Obviously, Lakers fans have that that kind of moment in the back of their mind.
00:44:34
Basketball reasons with Chris Paul trade.
00:44:36
But remember, what this guy did for the league as a whole was really, really impressive.
00:44:40
So sad day for the MBA as a whole.
00:44:42
We do wanted to send condolences to the family and finish up with that again.
00:44:46

00:44:13
With your coming in from YouTube line from periscope from Facebook Live.
00:44:17

00:44:46
Appreciate everybody for joining us.
00:44:48

And Chris will not be able to make it to the next show.
00:44:57
Jazz is out of town for one more show and then he'll be back on Chris, You're gonna be in Iowa. Manson.
00:45:02
So stay warm.
00:45:03
Stay.
00:45:04
Stay warm.
00:45:05
Hopefully, will you still be keeping updated on the Lakers? Oh, yeah, absolutely much as I can.
00:45:09
