00:00:07
everyone.
00:00:08
Thanks for tuning into my livestream.
00:00:10
Just like, as always, I'm gonna be re capping the Lakers week of what's happened so far.
00:00:16
Looking forward, what's gonna be going on in the in the next week and then also just going forward, talking about some stuff to look for stuff that I'd like to see change before I get into it, though I'm just gonna give a few people a little bit of time to get in the stream How I do it.
00:00:33
It seems to take a minute or two before people drawing.
00:00:36
So in the meantime, I hope everyone has had a good week.
00:00:40
I talk to you guys last Sunday and I had mentioned that I was not feeling great.
00:00:45
I think I was coughing a little bit and I'm getting sick pretty sick this week.
00:00:50
So originally I was planning to do a video earlier in the week, either one of the my pregame pregame previews for the game against the Magic or the Heat.
00:01:00
But I just I was not feeling well at all this week, so I decided I'd just stick to what I have been doing the last few weeks, giving you guys a nice long video, some in depth ****ysis over what I've seen from the Laker games for this week.
00:01:13
And then, like I mentioned, just what I'm looking for and what I would like to see changed one forward.
00:01:18
So it seems like we're starting to get a few more people in, so let's just get right into it.
00:01:22
I'm gonna start off talking about the game today.
00:01:25
Earlier today against the Atlanta Hawks, tip off for that game was at 3 p.
00:01:29
m.
00:01:30
Pacific time.
00:01:31
So earlier game unusual on Sundays.
00:01:32
Usually, when the Lakers aren't home, they're playing at 6 30 There on the road, though it was in Atlanta the game.
00:01:38
That was really frustrating this whole week.
00:01:41
There were different levels of frustrations throughout the three games of the Lakers played this week.
00:01:45
So they played the Magic on Wednesday, played the Heat on Friday, and then they played the Hawks Today.
00:01:52
Obviously, the Heat are a really good team.
00:01:54
Heat, before they played the Lakers on Friday, had not lost at home the whole year.
00:01:59
Magic are an okay team, a team that is, ah, borderline playoff team in the east, and then this game against the Hawks tonight or earlier today.
00:02:09
The Hawks are not a good team.
00:02:12
They're not making the playoffs.
00:02:13
I actually, if you guys remember from way back money that might preseason predictions.
00:02:17
I had the Hawks actually making the playoffs as the seven seed.
00:02:21
In fairness, that was before John Collins got suspended for 25 games.
00:02:24
But although John Collins is a good player, he doesn't make up for everything that the Hawks lack.
00:02:30
I I didn't realize how bad of a team at least right now.
00:02:35
I mean, Hawks were very young team. They have young players.
00:02:38
I'm not that high on DeAndre Hunter.
00:02:41
I don't think he's gonna turn into anything special.
00:02:43
I would not have taken him at number four overall thing.
00:02:46
Cam Radish has a lot of potential, but it's risky potential because, as we've seen from this season so far, but even before this season last season, that do is so many great physical attributes.
00:02:57
But he just doesn't really know howto make them all work in unison and how to be a really good basketball player, nearly anything close to his good of a basketball player as he should be given the physical tools that he has, so that remains to be seen.
00:03:11
I kind of thought that he I did think that he would be a better N b A player than he was a college player.
00:03:17
So far, that hasn't really been.
00:03:18
The case has just been inconsistent again.
00:03:22
Sorry, said, 06 So you guys gonna have to deal with a little bit of coughing in this episode? It's a live stream, so you get me live, No edits, no anything, just my raw ****ysis, but also means my sickness is well, Luckily, you guys can't catch it up.
00:03:37
So yeah, let's let's talk about the Sox game, though.
00:03:40
Like I said, oxen underwhelmed.
00:03:42
This year, Lakers went in there. They shot.
00:03:44
I believe it was five or 31 from the three tonight.
00:03:47
They were only.
00:03:48
The thing is the fourth time in the N B.
00:03:50
A history that a team and shot at least 31 threes in the game, made five or fewer and still won the game.
00:03:57
I thought about that stat because if you take interest on its surface that you would think why only four times in the history of them gay has that ever happened? But think about how many times 31 threes have been shot in the game.
00:04:09
Not until recently was that the norm where a team would consistently shoot that many threes.
00:04:14
You go back to the eighties.
00:04:16
I mean, the eighties have said Team shot 10 threes in a game that was amazing in the nineties and the 2000 teams from shooting threes that consistently they weren't shooting 30 threes in the game.
00:04:28
So, yeah, it's still pretty impressive that they were able to squeeze out this victory with shooting 31 three's only making five of them, but probably not too many games that have actually qualified for a team.
00:04:40
Even shooting that money threes in the first place, much less on Lee, making five of them and then still being able to win, too, but still impressive in a lot of turnovers to they had 22 turnovers.
00:04:52
LeBron James had the second quarter thing at 17 points in the second quarter.
00:04:57
He finished with finished with 32 points.
00:05:02
Get a really good game.
00:05:03
You're 13 rebounds and seven assists.
00:05:05
Weird thing about this game and this was kind of an odd game, but LeBron James his first assist of the night.
00:05:12
I hope you guys saw his between the legs bounce pass to Dwight Howard on the semi break and transition.
00:05:19
Where hey, with running but kind of slowly jogging up, the court started to push the pace.
00:05:26
Saw Dwight Howard behind him, just dropped it between his legs to Dwight for the dunk.
00:05:30
It was a great pass, but was also LeBron's 1st 1st assists of the night.
00:05:35
And thank you, T X gal 33 9 before for the tip.
00:05:39
Appreciate it.
00:05:40
Glad you like my ****ysis.
00:05:41
And also, if you guys have any questions while I'm talking about this stuff, go ahead and ask.
00:05:45
I loved interact with you guys, so please feel free.
00:05:48
Um, but yeah, that was his first assist of the night, and that came with things like under two minutes left in the second quarter.
00:05:56
So he finished tonight with seven assists.
00:05:58
He's the league leading assist man in the n B A by a pretty wide margin.
00:06:02
Still think it's still around one assist a game.
00:06:05
It's gone down a little bit earlier on in the year years, up around 11.
00:06:09
1 assists per game.
00:06:11
Now he's dropped down to I think he was at 10.
00:06:13
8, maybe his 10.
00:06:14
7 after tonight, but still distributing the ball really well, obviously, when he's leading the league in assists, but just a weird game.
00:06:22
LeBron James didn't get any assists until less than two minutes left in the first half.
00:06:29
There had never been a game.
00:06:30
I believe it was this year where LeBron didn't have an assist in an entire half.
00:06:34
So just a strange game.
00:06:36
Yet Danny Green had a ton of open shots.
00:06:39
What did he finish from? Three? He finished 05 on three, and there were at least two or three threes that I can remember where I think it was LeBron on, like all three of them were found Danny Green and semi transition in the corner.
00:06:52
Which is where that's Danny Green spot.
00:06:54
He loves to shoot those corner threes, and they just we're not falling for him.
00:06:59
Aren't falling for anyone.
00:07:00
LeBron was the only Laker to shoot a respectable, respectful percentage from three.
00:07:07
He shot four for 10 from three.
00:07:08
Other than that, Anthony Davis, who I'll get to him in the second over six on threes.
00:07:13
KCP over to Danny Green.
00:07:16
Like I said over five.
00:07:18
Raison Rondo.
00:07:19
One for four, Avery Bradley over two and Alex Caruso for two.
00:07:23
Well, so LeBron Rondo made 13 But other than Rondo's 13 LeBron made all the threes for the leaders tonight.
00:07:32
So LeBron had a great game.
00:07:34
Anthony Davis came down on his ankle.
00:07:36
He turned it on them, and one he got towards the end of the game.
00:07:40
Stuck in there, got it out.
00:07:42
He was quoted after the game saying that might have spent a little bit of adrenaline, but he wanted to finish the game out and got it out. That's what he did.
00:07:51
He played pretty well down the stretch for someone who was only on one good ankle.
00:07:56
But we'll see what happens.
00:07:57
Moving forward.
00:07:58
I'm gonna get into moving forward in a little bit, but we'll see if Anthony Davis can play against the Pacers.
00:08:04
I hope he can, but obviously health is more important than one game Lakers of one, now 14 games in a row on the road, which is two games away from matching the all time record they currently have the third longest road winning streak in NBA history.
00:08:19
The 94 95 Utah Jazz won 15 in a row on the road, and then the all time record was set over the course of the longest winning streak in MBA history.
00:08:32
33 game winning streak by the 71 72 Lakers over the course.
00:08:36
Of those 33 games, one in a row, they want 16 in a row on the road.
00:08:41
So Lakers are pretty close.
00:08:44
And like I said on the video last week, I I know that the Lakers know how close they are, and that's something that I think that it means something to them they have.
00:08:56
They've done a pretty good job this year.
00:08:58
Frank Vogel.
00:08:59
Something a good job of setting these little mini goals as the season goes along to kind of push them and keep them occupied over the course of this 82 game season.
00:09:08
And that's something that maybe they didn't have it set out as a goal for them to start the year.
00:09:12
But once I started getting closer, I know Frank Vogel has let them.
00:09:16
I know this and I know they know this I know LeBron Anthony, Davis, Aiken just tell they want this winning streak.
00:09:24
They want this record for longest consecutive wins.
00:09:27
It's gonna be really tough.
00:09:28
They play the Pacers or a good team on Tuesday in Indiana, obviously, and then on Thursday game.
00:09:35
We've been waiting for for a while.
00:09:36
I've been waiting for for a while.
00:09:37
They play the Bucks in Milwaukee.
00:09:39
If they win both of those games, they end up tying the streak at 16 in a row.
00:09:45
And then I I don't want to get too far ahead of myself.
00:09:48
Those air too tough games.
00:09:49
Lakers could very easily end up losing either or both of those games, but if they were to win both of their games, they would have a chance to break the record at Portland on December 28th.
00:10:00
Lakers already beat the Trail Blazers by 23 earlier this month on December 6th in Portland.
00:10:06
So it's definitely within reach and I do feel like Anthony Davis might try to push himself to play so that they can get that winning streak record.
00:10:17
But like I said, the season is more important than the game Anthony Davis has to rest even for a week to get that ankle right, he needs to do it more important to be healthy for the playoffs.
00:10:28
And it is, too.
00:10:29
Have some regular season record with that said, it would be cool to see it broken, so we'll see what happens.
00:10:35
But tonight's game Anthony Davis played really well down the stretch, like I said, sprained his ankle with about three or four minutes left, came up with some big defensive plays.
00:10:43
Trey Young had possession Where he got by.
00:10:46
His defender was one of the basket.
00:10:47
Anthony Davis.
00:10:48
I don't know if he ended up getting credited with the block and looked like he got a piece of the ball, but definitely at the very least, altered.
00:10:55
Trey Young shot and made him Missa.
00:10:57
What looked like was going to be a pretty uncontested layup.
00:11:01
Came up big on the other end, made some clutch free throws, although he did miss one.
00:11:05
Still, I've said before I feel really comfortable with Anthony Davis at the free throw line in the clutch player.
00:11:11
I do not feel comfortable at all.
00:11:12
In the clutch at the free throw line is LeBron James and again tonight he missed a free throw down the stretch, got fouled, and at first he I believe he inbound the inbounded the ball with the Lakers, down or up to in mounted the ball that Anthony Davis there was like 18 seconds left in the game, the Hawks smartly came over to double Davis instead of foul ings that didn't want a foul.
00:11:35
Davis Davis, swing it back to LeBron and LeBron kind of held it for a little bit.
00:11:39
Instead of trying to pass it around.
00:11:41
Enough getting fouled went to the free throw line.
00:11:43
One of two ex possession down for the Hawks.
00:11:46
Hawks were down three.
00:11:48
Everyone on the Lakers, especially LeBron James, should have known.
00:11:52
They're only going for a three if they go for a quick to just let them take the to.
00:11:57
LeBron James was so far off of his man in the corner believes Cam Radish.
00:12:01
He was basically with one foot in the key.
00:12:04
His manners in the corner drop, who drove to the basket might have been DeAndre Hunter or Trey Young.
00:12:10
Someone drove to the basket, and they but Ron stayed there.
00:12:15
Help swinging out became rather sit.
00:12:18
LeBron didn't even take a step out the camera outage to contest.
00:12:21
Luckily, Reddish missed the three Lakers rebounded.
00:12:24
They end up winning the game, So this is a game that was frustrating.
00:12:28
There were different points in the game where it looked like the Lakers were gonna start pulling away.
00:12:33
They got it up to the lead up to 10 or 11 points on thing two or three occasions.
00:12:37
But they just couldn't pull away and let the Hawks keep getting back into it.
00:12:41
And they very easily could have ended up losing this game.
00:12:44
And this is a game where the Lakers, for the most part this year, have been really good with putting away bad teams, even lost any games against bad teams yet and knock on Wood that continues.
00:12:55
But they have been dangerously close.
00:12:57
A few times in this game against the Hawks was definitely one of them.
00:13:01
Going back, though, to the game on Friday night against Miami.
00:13:04
He that was a game where it absolutely would have been understandable if the Heat had ended up beating the Lakers Lakers running into Miami.
00:13:14
That was a battle where Anthony Davis said, I think it was either before or after the game.
00:13:20
You had the heat who hadn't lost at home all year.
00:13:23
You're the Lakers who hadn't lost outside of Staples Center all the year.
00:13:26
Something obviously had to give it and end up being the heats.
00:13:29
Undefeated home record.
00:13:31
The so the final possession, where the Lakers were up by three in the heat of the ball with three point something seconds left and Jimmy Butler got the ball in the corner.
00:13:41
Mr three.
00:13:42
Anthony Davis was contesting him to tie it in.
00:13:44
Lakers won envy him out of the last two minute report, where they said that Jimmy Butler was fouled twice.
00:13:51
First time was where? I don't think this is me being biased, but to me it seemed like before Jimmy Butler got the ball.
00:14:01
LeBron James switched on.
00:14:02
Jenny Butler and Jimmy Butler just ran right over LeBron, which it's hard to do that.
00:14:07
But Jimmy mother had a lot of momentum behind him.
00:14:10
The last two minute report said that LeBron foul Jimmy Butler on that.
00:14:13
Ron wasn't moving on that he was set.
00:14:16
Get me brother ran right through him right through his chest.
00:14:18
Should've been an offensive foul if anything, After that, Jimmy Butler gets the ball in the corner, pump fakes.
00:14:23
Anthony Davis flies by him.
00:14:25
Then, as he shoots, it looks like again, I'm not trying to be biased.
00:14:30
I don't think I am.
00:14:32
But sure, if you're a heathen, you're gonna Same bias, for sure.
00:14:35
But looks like Jimmy Butler on his three kicked his legs out and tried to draw some contact with a D, which he did.
00:14:43
Didn't get the call.
00:14:44
Ball didn't go in.
00:14:45
Lakers won the game, and I thought that was the right call N b A. Said.
00:14:49
No, he should have been fouled.
00:14:50
I disagree with that.
00:14:52
But then game is the whole, though.
00:14:55
Was such a fun, exciting game to watch? I was really upset, though, because it was on ESPN.
00:15:02
But for some reason, ESPN blacked out the game in L.
00:15:06
A.
00:15:07
And I don't get why.
00:15:08
It's just It happened twice last year.
00:15:11
One game was the Lakers going up against the Rockets. It was black.
00:15:14
Down in front of the other One was, I don't know why that's never happened before last year or any nationally televised game for the Lakers has been blacked out.
00:15:23
And what made it even weirder is that the second game of the doubleheader was the Clippers on the road in Minnesota.
00:15:30
That one was not blacked out, and the Lakers Heat game was one where I was at work and I wanted to watch it.
00:15:38
Once I got home, I had recorded on ESPN.
00:15:41
Have you tube TVs? I don't have the Lakers Spectrum sports nut channel unless I have ah, Spectrum SportsCenter at home and on the DVR for it, so I have to watch it live.
00:15:52
And, yeah, I couldn't watch the the Heat Lakers game, so I have to catch a replay of it, which I just don't like doing.
00:16:01
So.
00:16:02
I like not knowing what the score is out of time.
00:16:04
And when you watch those replays on spectrum SportsNet, the score's always flash of the bottom.
00:16:08
I wish there was some way you could turn that off, but I'd stay off my phone long enough to watch it.
00:16:14
I I'm really serious and committed to this stuff.
00:16:17
So, um, but really good game against the heat.
00:16:22
JaVale McGee had an incredible run in the third quarter where he had you know, how many blocks he ended up with.
00:16:28
Let me see if I could pull that up against the Miami Heat.
00:16:33
JaVale McGee ended up with.
00:16:36
He had five blocks.
00:16:37
I think all five of those came in the third quarter.
00:16:40
He played 17 minutes, which for him is quite a bit.
00:16:44
Dwight Howard sellout.
00:16:45
Played him by one minute.
00:16:46
Dwight Howard.
00:16:47
Not a good game, too.
00:16:48
We had eight rebounds, only four points.
00:16:49
But that's not rates and they're in there to do.
00:16:51
He's not in there for offenses in there for rebounding, and they're for defense.
00:16:55
And that was one thing I forgot to mention about The Hawks game tonight was I thought Dwight Howard had a really good game.
00:17:01
Was physical inside, battling for rebounds.
00:17:03
I think he finished with seven rebounds, only two points, but again, he's not there to score.
00:17:08
He had three blocks and he was just protecting the rim really well.
00:17:11
They came up big.
00:17:12
Is the Lakers needed him and it was just a really good game from him.
00:17:16
But Friday against the Heat, JaVale McGee was the best of the Lakers to senator the better of the Lakers to centers.
00:17:22
He had nine points, 10 rebounds, five blocks and I was only in 17 minutes.
00:17:27
He was just so much bigger than everyone that Miami had.
00:17:30
It just seemed unfair, and it was really, really cool to see that and just good for him, because this has been sort of a trying year for him, where he's had kind of his ups and downs.
00:17:41
But he's been playing better lately, and I'm obviously happy with that.
00:17:46
LeBron James and Anthony Davis combined in this game to go for 61 points there on off splits.
00:17:52
When LeBron and Anthony Davis were both on the court, they outscored the Heat by 17 when Anthony Davis was on the court.
00:17:59
Without LeBron, I believe the Lakers were outscored by eight and then LeBron was on the court and 80 was off the court.
00:18:07
Lakers routes Word by six, I might have confused the LeBron 80 when only one of them on the court, but point being, they were obviously a lot better than are both on the court.
00:18:16
And it's just it's so difficult to stop at the broad Anthony Davis pick and roll.
00:18:20
There almost is no way to stop that, And that was something either.
00:18:25
Last week or the week before, I had mentioned how Lakers just haven't run a lot of taken role between LeBron Anthony Davis and that I thought they were deliberately doing that, making a concerted effort not to run to money.
00:18:36
LeBron, 80 taken roles so that they could work on other parts of their offense that would help them later on this season.
00:18:43
And, as you can remember over the course of November Lakers at a pretty light schedule.
00:18:49
So if they were going to do something like that, that was the time.
00:18:52
Now we're seeing they're playing these tougher teams.
00:18:54
They're goingto the LeBron 80 pick and roll or frequently, because although they have improved other other parts of their offense, the LeBron 80 pick and roll is still and will be for this entire year, their most most lethal weapon that they can utilize on offense.
00:19:14
So we're going to continue to see more of that, but sorry, but one other thing I wanted to talk about two is Anthony Davis being clutch, not just hitting his free throws, but just his play down the stretch of pretty much every close game that Lakers have had with the exception of opening night against the Clippers, where I think he didn't score in the fourth quarter, only had two points.
00:19:38
Him and LeBron both look tired in the fourth quarter of that game, but other than that, Anthony Davis has come up huge time and time again in every close, gay and against the Heat.
00:19:48
It wasn't just him hitting his free throws.
00:19:50
It was him coming up with big time rebounds down the stretch, defending Jenny Butler on the final possession, which I thought was a clean no foul on that room's just good defense.
00:20:00
Even before that, just switching, being able to defend every position.
00:20:04
And I just can't say enough about how incredible he has been.
00:20:09
Obviously, LeBron has been extremely incredible, is well, but LeBron played for the Lakers last year, so I witnessed last year, even though he's having a much better a year this year than last year.
00:20:18
Especially defensively I witnessed last year firsthand watching him in every game, he played just how great he is.
00:20:26
Anthony Davis.
00:20:27
I knew he was a great player, but I knew the type of stuff of these capable of.
00:20:31
But it's one thing to know how good someone is and see their stats and see their highlights and see them play every now and then.
00:20:39
But to see an absolute superstar play night in and night out, the way that Nancy Davis has been playing this year is unbelievable.
00:20:50
The stuff that he is able to do it so cliche to say.
00:20:53
But he effects a game so much more than his box score, even shows, and his box score already is really impressive.
00:20:59
But the stuffing and do on defense does not shine through in the box for enough.
00:21:04
And I am so glad that Anthony Davis is on the Lakers.
00:21:09
And one other thing I want to talk about to kind of bringing the picture a little bit more bigger picture right now to all of December.
00:21:17
So at the beginning of December, I even admitted Lakers have a really easy, relatively easy schedule to start the year, and it helped them and hurt them.
00:21:28
Hurt them because they built up some bad habits playing a playing against some not as good teams, but also helped them because it helped their confidence and that going into December we were going to find out just how great the Lakers were.
00:21:42
Lakers play 14 games in December, and at the beginning of the month, if you had told me that they would go nine and five, I probably would have taken that, and that would have felt like a win, because in December 10 of the 14 teams that they played at least 1 December started 10 of the 14 teams they're going to play, we're above 500 or yeah, things above 500.
00:22:05
So really tough slaved for them.
00:22:08
And, yeah, I would have taken nine and five, and that would have felt like a pretty good, pretty good month for them, given they're pretty tough schedule right now, they are seven and one in the month of December.
00:22:21
They're on pace to G O 13 and one or 12 into everyone.
00:22:25
Slice it.
00:22:28
That's pretty crazy.
00:22:31
And they've already shown Yes, they lost the Dallas on December 1st.
00:22:35
Haven't lost since they won the back of back in Denver and then in Utah the night after that, which never happens.
00:22:42
That just that's crazy.
00:22:45
And then they beaten Portland in Portland, which I know.
00:22:48
Portland is not playing very well this year, but Lakers have struggled every time they go on to Portland for the last.
00:22:54
I don't know how many years it seems like my whole child.
00:22:57
That was just one place that they could not win.
00:23:00
And they've just I hope that everyone can stop questioning just how good the Lakers are because they are really special right now.
00:23:08
The Bucks and the Lakers are both on Paste win 73 games.
00:23:11
As long as they continue winning and winning at the same rate that they have so far, I'm not expecting either team to get to 73 with.
00:23:20
I'm not expecting either team to get 70 wins.
00:23:24
Honestly, if the Lakers have ah 45 game lead with 67 games left in the regular season, especially in the Western Conference, probably arrest their players a little bit.
00:23:37
I get the feeling that down the stretch, even if if the Lakers air four or five games ahead of the next best team in the Western Conference, but they're jockeying for the number one overall seed best record in the n B A with the Bucks, they might just give it to the Bucks.
00:23:56
I don't think I mean, we've seen how well they played on the road.
00:24:00
I don't think home court matters to brush them.
00:24:02
Would they like to have home court? Of course, everyone would like to.
00:24:06
Even other winning percentage is better on the road right now that is at home.
00:24:10
That doesn't mean that they're They play better on the road than they do it.
00:24:14
It's they've lost two games at home.
00:24:17
I mean, the game against the Clippers was in Staples Center, but technically, they've lost two games at home.
00:24:22
One game on the road, even a fennel in road game was in L.
00:24:26
A.
00:24:28
I just I hope that we can, yeah, stop saying, Oh, well, their schedule isn't that great And that's why they have this record.
00:24:35
I'm like I said, I don't think they get to 70 wins.
00:24:39
Probably 66 67 as long barring injuries, knock on wood, No big injuries, and we just saw anything.
00:24:47
Davis get injured earlier tonight earlier today, but I mean he still might play against the Pacers.
00:24:55
I obviously hope he does, but just Lakers are a really good thing and I'm not saying that they are for sure going to win the title.
00:25:05
I do think they should be the title favorites right now, as well as the Bucks have played in the Bucks of one, what, 16 17 games in a row? You look at that Buck's team.
00:25:15
That Buck's team, I don't think is as good as the Lakers and the Bucks very well could beat the Lakers in walking on Thursday.
00:25:22
Lakers are also playing.
00:25:24
That's their fifth game in a row on the road, so it's gonna be even tougher.
00:25:28
Bucks could absolutely win that game, but in a seven game series, I would take the Lakers and I take on the win in probably six games, Ya miss, I think, has learned from last year last year in the playoffs, especially, and I think he is going to be just an absolute monster in the playoffs and be relentless.
00:25:46
But there's only so much that he can do when the Lakers have.
00:25:50
I might even give be honest.
00:25:52
I mean, his play this year has shown he is.
00:25:56
If I say he's the best player in the league, I don't think too many people are gonna argue with that is out of the three point shot, somewhat which look even just the threat of him being out there.
00:26:06
You got to take 1/2 step closer, them on the perimeter.
00:26:09
He already was blowing by people before.
00:26:11
Now he's even doing it more.
00:26:12
But with that said, I just don't see the Bucks beating the Lakers in a seven game series when the Lakers have two of the two of the top five players in the NBA, you could argue two of the top three.
00:26:28
Some people could even argue the top two players in the N B A.
00:26:31
I'm not going to go that far, but they definitely have two of the best players in the n B A.
00:26:38
And they have a really good roster around them, too, Just like the Bucks ever really across her around, the honest.
00:26:43
But to really good players, two really great players beats one really great player, even if that one really great player is better than the other two really great players, if that makes sense, But in terms of what I want to look for going forward, So oh, briefly touch on the Magic game against the Lakers, to that was the most could, already the most frustrating game of the week, either.
00:27:09
That honor the ox game gave me that's the Magic Lakers came out absolutely destroying them.
00:27:15
Magic hat, I think.
00:27:16
Nine points at the end of the first quarter, actually.
00:27:19
Is that me? Yeah, it's 26 to 9.
00:27:22
After the first quarter in the second quarter, Lakers open it up to a 24 point lead and then they just kind of tried to coast from there.
00:27:31
They let their foot off the gas.
00:27:32
Magic came back.
00:27:33
Magic end up even taking a lead in the third quarter at one point.
00:27:36
And then in the fourth quarter, leaders were ableto somewhat pull away again.
00:27:43
It was still pretty close for most of the fourth quarter, and the Lakers ended up eking out a win.
00:27:48
It was just frustrating game, where it felt like the Lakers should have handled it a lot earlier and could have gotten some players.
00:27:56
Some needed rest, notably LeBron James and Anthony Davis, because in this game, LeBron ended up playing 37 minutes.
00:28:04
Anthony Davis, 36.
00:28:07
Ideally, this is a game where if you're up 20 forms second quarter, they rest.
00:28:11
They don't play the fourth at the very least, and you give them some much needed rest Didn't happen.
00:28:18
Kyle Kuzma hasn't played on this road trip yet, as long as he is feeling any effects from his ankle injury.
00:28:24
Lakers should not plan.
00:28:25
Don't tryto push him through this.
00:28:26
Like I said with Anthony Davis, stuff wins in the regular season are nice, but you just got to get to the playoffs.
00:28:33
Be healthy, give yourself the best chance to win that way.
00:28:36
And that's what they're doing with Kyle Kuzma.
00:28:38
It's the right move to do, too.
00:28:40
So we'll see if he's going to end up playing again on this road trip.
00:28:45
My guess would be no, but I know that Kyle Cruise was a competitor and if he can get out there, he's going to.
00:28:51
I just heard that the Lakers are smart with him and kind of hold them back from himself from hurting himself.
00:28:57
So we'll see what happens with that biggest thing.
00:29:01
I'm going be looking for moving forward, though, especially this upcoming week.
00:29:05
Aside from just the battle with the Bucks, with the honest and also just seeing who's guarding honest, I would expect Anthony Davis to be on him, especially to start.
00:29:13
Yama starts at the 4 80 starts it before.
00:29:17
So should be a really good battle there.
00:29:19
But honestly is just the backup point guard battle.
00:29:22
So K C P, I think, is going to keep starting, even though Avery Bradleys, minutes for this game has minutes restriction.
00:29:30
Went up to 25 minutes for minutes for the game, and I'd expect somewhat soon he'll have no restriction on him.
00:29:38
Casey Piece played really good with the really well with the starters, and I think he'll continue to be in that spot.
00:29:45
Frank Vogel seems like he's a coach.
00:29:48
Where do you have something rolling around a winning streak? Don't change it.
00:29:51
So I'd expect that to continue.
00:29:54
But in terms of backup point guard minutes since Rondo's come back from his hamstring injury, two things have happened.
00:30:01
One.
00:30:02
He has not been shooting the three nearly as well as he was before the before the injury.
00:30:06
He was before the injury.
00:30:08
He was shooting the three at it was 50 the Reaper sent from three and now he is down to sorry one second, and now he's down to 47.
00:30:25
5% from three, which obviously issues that for the year.
00:30:29
I'll still take that.
00:30:30
But he went over four against the Heat on Friday, which is has returned from the injury one for four tonight on three.
00:30:38
OK, maybe he's trying to get his legs back under him.
00:30:40
He missed a week, so it's not like he was out for an extended period of time.
00:30:44
He shouldn't have lost his legs in a week, but okay, maybe give him a little bit more time to adjust.
00:30:50
I never thought that he'd shoot 53% from three for the year.
00:30:54
I don't think he's gonna finish that 47% for the year.
00:30:57
If he can finish at 42 43% and still shoot them consistently when he's open.
00:31:04
Okay, then that's great.
00:31:05
But with that being said, Alex Caruso has played so well and I'm gonna get keep beating Alex Caruso drum.
00:31:11
But he has played so well, especially on defense.
00:31:15
Just like I've been saying, it's been playing extremely well on defense.
00:31:19
The defense of rotations when Alex Caruso on Davies, Caldwell, Pope, a growth on the court on the perimeter have been phenomenal and I want to see more of that.
00:31:27
But in the two games that rage on Rondo has been back.
00:31:32
Rondo has played more minutes than more minutes than Alex Caruso in both games.
00:31:38
Against the Heat, Rondo played 25 minutes out minutes.
00:31:42
Alex Caruso only played 10 minutes, and then today, against the Atlanta Hawks, Alex Caruso played 15 minutes. Minutes.
00:31:51
Sorry, I'm stuffed up.
00:31:54
Alex Russo played 15 minutes while Rage on Rondo played 26 minutes, and Rana had some good stretches in today's game.
00:32:01
But still, I just I want to see Caruso playing Maur.
00:32:04
Leakers have building identity around the defense, even though their defense has slacked off a little bit in their offense.
00:32:10
Has obviously taken a big step forward, but they want to continue being a defensive team.
00:32:17
They want that to be the mindset.
00:32:19
And if you want that to be your mindset, you have to have your best perimeter defender and Alex Caruso playing more than just 10 or 15 minutes a night.
00:32:26
And part of it might be just politics in the locker room.
00:32:29
Rage on Rondo is the respected veteran that everyone seems to like, but his game is not on the same level of about Alex Caruso when you consider everything of this team needs, and also just how well each player plays in the role that they're given.
00:32:48
So that's actually the biggest thing I'm looking for this week is Rondo seems to fully integrate themselves back into the rotation.
00:32:56
Is Frank Vogel gonna be smart about his minutes rotation wise and give Alex Cruz of the minutes that he has earned? Or is it just wouldn't be given to Rondo because he is the veteran and Caruso is going to have to continue to keep fighting and showing that, no, he is a better point more than Rondo.
00:33:13
So I've said before not many things to complain about with Frank Vogel.
00:33:18
This is something that it's still not much to complain about with them, but as a potential to turn to turn into a legitimate gripe, at least for me, as someone who watches the Lakers closely.
00:33:30
So I hope that doesn't happen.
00:33:32
That's the biggest thing to look for, though.
00:33:34
That's all I have for today, though, thank you guys for tuning in.

00:00:07
everyone.
