and welcome back.
Everybody is We're back live here in the sports dish on sports cast their Ah little different type of stream to go through for today here, but actually went to a college basketball game yesterday.
We'll talk about in my game Reviewing what went on as this game took place yesterday was on Saturday, December 14th at 1 p.
This game took place at Boston University, and they took on the Dartmouth Big Green here.
So, Boston University basketball from the Patriot League they took on Dartmouth from the Ivy League.
As we welcome you guys over to my stream, Um, I went with my girlfriend.
By the way, she is Ah, graduate of Boston University, back in 2017 17.
So was my first time bringing her back to our old college roots in, like, two years or so, But a couple stuff a couple of cool things from the game yesterday got my ticket stubs that I always keep here for you guys.
I'm going to show you the ticket there.
Boston University Terriers Basketball as that he took on Dartmouth Dartmouth College from the Ivy League.
This one took place at the case.
Center Keisha Jim at the roof at the Boston University campus.
Usually the big, big events that they hold, like BU, is basically known for their hockey team.
They have, like a Top 25 hockey team, usually like almost every single years.
That hockey team, please, inside again Serena.
But the basketball team plays their home games inside the roof of the Case center, which is right down the road at Massachusetts Avenue, so that a couple of cool posters here to look at right here You got the two seniors.
I'll talk about these players in a little bit on the Ross about two seniors here, Number 51 number 20.
Number 25 there for two players.
We're gonna look at number 51 Max Mahoney is seeing there.
He is the leading scorer on the teams and ranking 17 on the Patriot League.
As Faras point scored per game.
Number 25 is Adam Mikula for the BU Terriers as well.
Just one more time.
I'll give that to you guys.
They're 51 in 20 five BU as I collected that post.
There also have a poster of the three juniors on the team as well.
A go through those for you guys on number 41 is super Mathon as he is on the poster right there.
Force Suk Mathon.
And then in the middle we got number 14 number 14 Andrew Cash, which is basically known as one of the three point shooters.
He takes a lot of three point shots in the team and then at the very edge is there one of their guards for the team devotee McCoy, one of the leading ball handlers for the team as well.
Number 30 long for you.
Also said, Those are the 3 June.
There's just sure the senior is gonna nice big Terriers men's home basketball schedule as well with a starting five.
And it's now show you guys right now it's got home games.
By the way, the bottom of the map right there, which, uh, one does with a de degree in D is the one I want to with Dartmouth.
Hey, welcome in I am the man.
Aaah! Thanks so much for dropping by over here in the broadcast.
Just going over.
The game review yesterday went out to Boston University, watch some basketball with some college hoops out there.
Also got a poster here.
Collected some cool posters from the game.
This is a junior from Shavers Town, Pennsylvania.
Won Suk Mathon, The Big Man, the tallest player on the team.
The center for the BU Terriers basketball program.
He's definitely got some size in the court right here.
Gonna show you the poster together, Suk, Because that's him right there.
Soup for B you and she only scored three points yesterday off the bench, but so many forgot Cover him.
He was completely left wide open, drained on a straight down, the top of the key three point shot for the BU terriers.
As far as my last post, they're here to go over for you guys to get a nice hockey looking schedule, as well as their mostly known for their BU hockey team that they have on their campus as they are Usually one of the best premier hockey programs in all of NC double sports as they play in the Hockey East also got a woman's basketball on the flip side here, terrier woman's basketball as well, as well as the men's home schedule as well So I got both of those schedules.
They're on the flip side of the poster alongside from the hockey program.
Also cannot forget about the program.
Here's got a nice big program that I was able to track down teams, the test Nick stuff like that, that they had all the program from yesterday's game that I went to so gone through a couple of things that I did collect in the pregame before yesterday's game.
Now go through the actual game here.
So Boston University was coming in on Lee with a three and seven record.
They're not really known as far as their basketball program are, so they haven't ever been known.
It's all about their hockey program on campus that BU they took on a Dartmouth team who hasn't been to the NC double A tournament in ages.
I believe since like 19 fifties 19 sixties, they haven't gone to the NC double tournament.
But surprisingly, I was looking at the record for Dartmouth this year.
Never record a six and four.
This team not really known for their basketball program either, as they came, took like two and 1/2 3 hour drive up north from Hanover, New Hampshire, in the Vermont border to take on Boston University in downtown Boston for this matchup here.
Now go through the game.
So at the early stage of the game, BU they were on top, and they lead throughout the entire portion of this game here, basically from start to finish.
As BU just took control of it, however, the it was just only one time Dartmouth took a lead by one point.
That was the only lead that Dartmouth had in like the second minute of the game.
Other than that, Boston University had a lead entirely in this one.
Be You just got on the fast start.
They were up quickly, 8 to 4.
The extended that lead.
Early on, they were up 16 10 but Dharma just kept on holding and holding on.
He kept on hanging in the game.
Drop the entirety of this game.
So we're gonna go through a little bit of this game today because this, given that they want Thio yesterday to see college basketball, tells you that no lead is comfortable, especially when in the final minute of a basketball game, so talking about the We'll talk about the case.
Jim here First, it's top 10.
Smallish gym in college basketball is ranked number 10.
I believe in the smallest Jim and NC double A division one.
Men's college basketball only fits around 1800 capacity inside the case.
Jim A really nice Jim.
The basketball court looks so much smaller compared to like all the seats that they line up in ah, in the court for, like the gym nap.
It's like that size.
It's actually it feels like it feels like it's like a pretty big size Jim with, like, all the seats.
But the basketball court seems like it's so so small compared to like other courts that I've been to a watch like a basketball game are so so be you came into this game, by the way.
They lost their last five games straight in a row before they came into this game there.
Last loss was a shocking win at South Carolina, the first ever win against an S E C powerhouse team from the Southeastern Conference out South Carolina 78 to 80.
But that one was back on November 19th.
They hadn't won for the month of December so be you started out the game, and they were only doubt once down by one point, the rest of the game they were up entirely in this matchup drew out.
But Dartmouth just kept on hanging in.
It, kept on hanging in.
It felt like they were constantly down by 5.
6 points, eight points.
They were down as much as 11 points in this matchup.
Now for BU, the main player that kept him in throughout the entirety of this game and why they deserve to one was because of this man, Max Mahoney, the senior number 51 from Basking Ridge, New Jersey, here for Max Mahoney.
He was the number two leading scorer in the team yesterday with 16 points for BU.
He also ended up having to assist.
He got in a little bit of followed trouble early.
He had two followers within the 1st 5 minutes of the game.
They took him out on the bench, but after that, he was cruising along heat.
He's a really good defender there on the BU team, a really good defender forced a lot of missed shots by Dartmouth inside a low post.
Dartmouth had trouble scoring throughout the entirety of that game as well.
Take a look at the shooting percentages later.
Max Mahoney was indeed the most efficient player shooting the ball on the court for BU throughout the entirety ist game finished seven for 10 from the floor, 70% shooting there from Max Mahoney.
He was a beast inside a low post 16 points and six rebounds, along with a block in to assist.
The leading score for BU, though, was Walter White, number five, the sop****re.
There's a lot of promise there with Walter way in his future.
Knock down 33 point shots yesterday when I saw employ, he did turn over the ball five times, but he was the leading score with 17 points.
Welcome into the stream Alos Chianti, 69 69.
Thanks so much for dropping by here on SportsCastr, Just going over My game review yesterday headed out.
The Boston University saw BU take on Dartmouth that the case Jim Inside be used campus now.
The starting five had great production there for BU.
It was going on in this game, and every single one of those players in the starting five had double digit points.
Javadi McCoy, the point guard, had 14 points alongside eight assists.
He was a passing beast and this one as Bebe you from the very start, I could tell BU look like they were the stronger team in the scheme.
Their players were moving on the court from Perimeter, that perimeter toe low post inside with the entry passes in the lane, the 51 Max Mahoney.
They were by far the strongest, he wild Dartmouth.
Their players just stood there.
They just stood there and tell like the final seconds where they were able to get a shot off and pray that it went in.
So I could tell that BU from early on would be able.
I would feel confident that be you would be able to take this being, which they did.
But the final score doesn't reflect how well they actually played.
I thought they should have definitely been ableto win this game, or the final score was 78 to 76 by the way, as Boston University got the wind, we'll talk about the ending here in a couple minutes, but Giovanni McCoy, with 14 points alongside eight assists and also join US Harper at 12 points.
Jonas Harper played 28 minutes on the court.
He rolled his ankle there on the court.
He was out for about five minutes or so.
For Jonas Harper is that was an injury scare.
The whole building got silence, but Jonas Harper five minutes later returned to the lineup knock down a huge three point shot to get him to double digit points in the game yesterday for BU.
Other than that, the bench was pretty much silent with players from the bench.
Shaw Super Mathon scored three points.
The Big Man, six foot 10 Sukma Thong, with its only three point shot a game.
Andrew Petty cash struggle from behind New York.
For the junior, he was one for four for only three points as well.
So as Faras Dartmouth, they just kept on, kept on being in the game, floating around even though it didn't seem like Dartmouth was able to make it like ableto make the game like a lead change.
After lead change, they were able to still float around and hang in there.
Now that CZ one of those games that's kind of interesting how Dartmouth kept on hanging in by 6 to 8 points.
Basically the entire game.
BU found itself up by 10 at halftime.
The score was 39 29 at halftime.
This is where we're going to get to the second half.
Dartmouth outscored BU 47 39 in the second half year.
By the way, there were zero slam dunks in that game.
I went to Harvard a month ago in Harvard, was just throwing it down against the main team of struggle mightily in the second half.
But as far as BU, the reason why they want this game because of Max Mahoney and his ability to be basically on both sides of the core owned the owner.
Rebounding boards force a lot of Dartmouth Miss shots inside.
They were having difficulty all along throughout the game for Dartmouth, scoring inside against Max Mahoney and also Mahoney inside.
He's just a low post beast in this game, scoring seven for 10 inside the low post for Max Mahoney and that shows here by this shooting percentage.
Boston University shocked about 59% from the floor yesterday against Dartmouth.
There were no answers at all defensively that stopped be used low per perimeter, scoring there in their second chance points as well. Offer rebounds.
And, um, and that was the big, big key yesterday for B, 59% from the Florida is fantastic.
That shocked about 27 for 46 words be used. Defense.
Hello, Bdart Minto.
Only 45% scoring five for 21 from three point range.
Where's BU? Knocked down 73 point shots from downtown.
Now this is where the game will get.
I got a little bit in trusting here, So in the first half Dartmouth struggled.
He turned over the ball like, ah, good amount of times they turned over the ball inside.
The low post like these buckets were hard to come by.
All game long for Dartmouth.
Inside the low post, they kept on turning the ball over a couple of really bad passes that went on the bounce.
Seems BU there, but Dartmouth had more that troubles in the first, um, half.
Where's be U turned over the ball more in the second half.
12 kernels turnovers total by Boston University in this game.
A total turnovers by Dartmouth in the game.
But most of those were in the first half for Dartmouth anyway.
Um, but Dartmouth has kept on hanging on throughout the entire e of the game in.
But by the way, BU was up the final minute left to play Boston University was up the score.
Waas, I believe in the final minute of the of play.
Welcome in right away and police socks.
Thanks so much for dropping by in the SportsCastr shared.
Yeah, Bu was up.
They were up 70 to 61 with 57 seconds to go 70 to 61 with 50 57 seconds left to go.
The final score. This game.
It didn't even go into overtime.
The final score was 78 to 76.
Dartmouth just had.
So, um, Dartmouth didn't have any false that give the kept on falling bu.
And like every single time, two or three seconds went off.
The clock went in the final minute be you went to the free throw line.
Brick here comes back.
They score a big three point shot.
Now that nine point game goes so like a six point game and be you.
If Dartmouth have been ableto commit a couple more falls earlier.
They would have won this game because be you cannot hit shots of the free throw line.
At the free throw line Dartmouth committed in this game, Dartmouth committed 25 followers as a key.
Most of those were in the second half.
I think like 13 follows or so in the second half for Dartmouth.
Now for BU, they shot the ball only 61% at the free throw line.
Yesterday, they were 17 for 28.
Ah, lot of those misses, by the way, came with under a minute left to play in that game.
So they saw a nine point lead with, like, a minute remaining of apparition.
The final score was 78 to 76.
By the way, be BU was up 77 to 76.
They they missed the 1st 1 of the double bonus at the free throw line.
The 2nd 1 they made in the score was 78 to 76 with four seconds remaining, Dartmouth's got the inbound pass.
This is how the game and the Dartmouth dribble drive all the way across the courts all the way to their ah, basket.
It should've been for Dartmouth toe Force overtime at the buzzer.
They floated up.
It goes off the back rim and it misses.
And that's how the game finishes up.
They should have forced overtime.
They should've should've forced overtime.
There is no excuse to miss that easy layup like a clear lane to the basket.
I don't think anybody for BU wanted the foul.
That's that's why they didn't want the bucket to go in.
And then the player from Dartmouth would have gone to the free throw line, and it would have ended in the final score if he would have made it 79 to 78.
But easy, layup.
I could not believe that it was a miss, by the way on, Just it talks about, like, be us a basketball programmer.
So, like how, like not strong they are is a basketball program and stuff like that.
Is that the final minute? There were a bunch of fans in the arena, by the way, like a good amount of them.
Like I'd say 75% of the fans at the case, Jim inside BU.
75% of those fans were wearing like either rather white colors to support Boston University.
Where is like the other 25% were wearing on Dartmouth like Dartmouth sweatshirts, the color green there to support the Dartmouth Big Green.
The Dartmouth fans like when? In the last minute of the game, when BU went to the free throw line, the Dartmouth fan, she's completely took over the game and we're just allowed out noisy inside the arena.
Just took it completely over it.
Didn't feel like a home game.
It all felt like a road game when in the last minute there, so be you just could not convert the free throw line.
It is scary, but yet they pulled away the victory, 78 to 76.
So that's basically my game.
Here was quite the game, though.
Good quality as far as the match up it was.
It was a really good quality matchup between these two teams.
Both really, even be.
You improved a three and one at home this season four and seven overall, but they have taken on some really tough teams this using couple tough losses in there.
The power conference teams like South Carolina in West Virginia, they only lost by five in in city rival Northeastern.
They also lost against Vermont To is going to be most likely inside the NC Double A tournament, as they've retained a lot of their starting lineup players from last season's team that made it to the round of 64 in the tournament.
But as Faras Dartmouth, they fought a six and five close game there for the Dartmouth the Green.
But BU they'll take on next you Massa law.
They only have to travel.
Or so like 40 minutes north of U Mass.
Low tours in New Hampshire border Next two games, they travel toe upstate, our North Shore Mass.
That take on these two teams to the New Hampshire border U Mass.
Low next Saturday, December 21st at one PM and the following Sunday, December 29th will be taking on Merrimack College at 6 p.
On Sunday, December 29th which is in Andover, Massachusetts, right down the road from Low Mass, where you will be playing that game.
But, yeah, that's basically a rap here to this video.
Hope you enjoyed it as that is my college basketball and c w College basketball game Review.
Uh, good matchup here with these two teams. Final score.
Boston University 78 Dartmouth 76 Hope you enjoy the video.
Thanks so much for watching as this sense the sports dish here in SportsCastr.
