What's popping is your boy.
Well, the Knicks have traveled to Portland, and it will be taking on the Trail Blazers as they try toe snap a nine game losing streak under in term head coach Mike Miller.
Can they do it? Well, they go. We'll see.
Obviously, we're all looking for some changes from in term head coach Mike Miller.
We're looking to see how key ways that he can improve the next, supposed both defensively, all offensively, the way that they approached the game, their mindset to the game.
We've seen a better showing against the Indiana Pacers.
Just a couple of days ago, the Knicks lost to the Pacers with 0.
1 seconds left on the clock as Julius Randle missed a game tying free throw, Obviously, the entire game to come down to Julius Randle missing the free throw.
But the free throws, those free throws like my Man City for Real has been saying for weeks since the beginning of the season.
Those free throws have come back to bite us and the tush.
I'm more than one occasion and it came back to bite us against the Indiana Pacers.
Hopefully I don't know what Mike Miller is done about the free throws we're gonna hear from Mike Miller a little bit later in the show.
Hopefully, he's done something.
He's helping the guys work on making those free throws and learning how to make those free throws in the clutch.
All right? Yes, Ladies and gentlemen, you see, right, I got my coaching gear on, because when I leave, when I'm done here, I'll be done about three o'clock, maybe even sooner.
But when I'm done here, I'm heading straight to a basketball game, right? So, yes, I mean, my coaching gear uniform, all that good stuff.
So if the colors don't match, what can I do about it? You know, I mean, I got to do what I do when I'm doing it for TV.
Let's get to this breakdown.
Ladies and gentlemen, talk about the Knicks in the Portland Trail Blazers.
Let's rock with it, folks.
And yes, ladies and gentlemen, the Knicks played the Trailblazers tonight at 10 p.
As they began a West Coast trip.
Yeah, that's a late game 10 p.m.
Eastern standard time.
That's late game, but I'm pretty sure we're all going to stay up to watch the game.
And yes, I will be on after the game.
Even know what's going to be late.
It's going to be 12 30 in the morning.
So if you'll be on, not beyond will be on together.
Sleepy, tired tomorrow morning, the next ladies and gentlemen of 4 19 on this season, which is the reason that Coach Fizdale has been fired.
But anyway, well, we're gonna talk about courts. Fizdale.
We're done with that past this, and it's in the past.
In the past, the Knicks have for 19 important Trail Blazers a team that went to the Western Conference finals last season, 1915.
They lost some ingredients.
You know, so many people don't just don't understand the importance of some of those smaller pieces on the team.
You know, the guys that go out there and rebound the basketball, the guys that go out there and sc**** up their knees.
The guys that go out there fight for the loose balls, you know, people discount those players.
But when you got those kind of players on the team, man, that's what makes it stick.
That's what makes your team better.
But anyway, let's take a look at the starting lineups.
The projected starting lineups.
But the New York Knicks is frightened.
Barrett, Marcus Morris, Julius Randle in Taj Gibson.
Now understand, ladies and gentlemen, these are projected lineups.
So between now and the game tonight, things could change.
Things could change.
I don't expect them to change, but you just never know.
That's the way the MBA works.
Hey, that's the way that the MBA works now. Four.
The Portland Trail Blazers.
Your projected starters are Damian Lillard.
CJ McCollum Can't base more Carmelo Anthony and Hassan Whiteside.
The injury report for both teams for the next Reggie Bullock has a neck problem.
Has been had a neck problem for a while for the Portland Trailblazers Riding Hood.
He's dealing with the sore Achilles and, ah, narc it.
She's still in with a lower left leg.
Has been out the entire season.
Now for the Knicks.
Wayne Ellington has been released.
It was released yesterday.
Well, I'm sorry it was released a few days ago.
I don't know if he's we don't know if he's gonna be back or not.
But Wayne Ellington was always also out with a sore left Achilles against Indiana Pacers.
We'll see if he's if he makes it back for tonight's game, and I'm interested to see because if he does make it back, I want to see how Mike Miller uses Wayne Ellington.
Effie uses Wayne Ellington.
Yeah, so once again for the Knicks, frankly, Latina R J.
Bird, Marcus Moore, Julius Randle, Taj Gibson and for the Portland Trailblazers, Damien Little it C J.
Can't Basem or Carmelo Anthony and Hassan Whiteside take a look at the team? Comparison? Ladies, gentlemen, the Knicks during a nine game losing streak.
They're trying to avoid the 10th loss in a rope.
By all means, I hope that they can avoid that 10th loss in a row.
6 points per game.
They gave up 111 points per game.
1% from the field, 35.
They grabbed 45.
5 rebounds per game.
Excuse me, the average 20 assists per game and 14.
9 turnovers per game.
The offensive rating is 102 That's 30th in the league last in the league, and their defense of rating is slipping.
Continues to slip, and it could slip again tonight.
Defensive rating is 1 12.
5 There's 24th in the league, but the Portland Trail Blazers again, they're 9 to 15.
There on a two game losing streak, they average 112.
7 points per game.
They give up 115.
4 points per game.
If they'll go percentage.
The the average Ah, they shoot it at 45% from the field.
Issued 36.2% from three.
They grabbed 46.
3 rebounds per game.
1 assists per game at 13.
5 turnovers per game.
This is a nice old team as well, but guys like Damian Lillard and C.
McCollum they place an isil basketball and come Milo Anthony and play some isolation Basketball.
The offensive ratings 109.
3 days, 10th in the league, and their defense of rating is 1 11.
8 That's 22nd in the league.
The Knicks got to take advantage of that because the first time in a while that we've played a team.
It doesn't have a good defense.
Heat match ups for the night.
Damian Lillard versus Frank Nil Akina Hand Frank Miller, Kino.
Stay in front of Damian Lillard.
We'll talk about that when we talk about our keys to the game.
But Damian Lillard 6 to 1 95 point guards averaging 26.
7 points per game, 4.
6 rebounds per game, 7.
4 assists and one steel per game.
He sues the ball at 44.
3% from the field and 35% from three.
Frankly, Lucchino, he's on the opposite end of the spectrum from Damian Lillard.
All right, Frank or 67 £200 his guards flash forward.
4 points per game, 2.
1 rebounds per game, 3.
4 assists per game at 1.
3 steals per game.
He shoots it at 38.
3% from the field and 35.
2% from three Now.
Frankly, licking his job is to be a defensive specialist.
You notice we all notice and he deal with Damian Lillard.
That's the question because Damian Lillard is a baller.
He may not shoot the best percentage from the field, 44.
3 all from 3 35%.
It gets it done when he has to get it done.
Do we need, frankly, Neil Aquinas to be on Damian Lillard without switching.
We'll talk about that.
C. J. McCollum, but R. J.
That's the next key matchup column.
6 £390 He's a guard.
He averaged 22 points again, 4.
5 rebounds, beginning 3.
8 assists in just under a steel per game.
He shoots the ball at 44.
7% from the field and 38.
Let's not let this guy get loose from the three point line R.
He's got his work cut out for because C.
McCollum is a crafty player, A crafty scorer.
Barry has definitely got some work cut out for him.
We're in daily with CJ McCullough, R J. Barry.
He's 66 to 14 guards flash forward.
3 points per game, 5.
3 rebounds per game, 3.
3 assists per game and 0.
5 lots of game next year.
I should have been steals per game.
Ice field goal percentage is 39.
5% from the field and she was 31% from three.
All right, that is your guy.
Have a guy, our rookie.
Ladies and gentlemen, now R. J. Barrett.
He's crafty himself.
The one thing I like about this matchup is that R.
Barrett is also gonna make CJ McCollum work.
All right, he's going to make him work that, you know, And that's different than what's gonna happen with Damian Lillard and Frank Miller.
Kina Okay, right.
Millikin is not gonna make Damian Lillard work as much because he's not an offensive guy.
We know that about Frank.
Barrett is gonna make, sees a McCollum work, some argue, but it's gonna take the ball to the basket, especially if he gets hot.
CJ McCullough is really gonna have to call them, and that's a good thing.
You want God guys that can score the basketball.
You want them to have to work on the defensive end of the floor, right? Because if they work on the defensive end of the floor, hopefully you're burning out those legs a little bit.
So when it comes to the fourth quarter, they're not as fresh as usual.
So that should be a good matchup.
I think that's gonna be a good match up. R. J.
I, uh you know, I think our debate will do a good job on C.
McCollum not saying it's going to stop him not saying he's going to stop him.
I'm just saying he'll do a good job defending and playing to get CJ McCollum.
A guy like that matchup.
I'm looking to have some fun watching that match.
I just said, Hey, look at the keys to the game.
Some of the keys, my keys to the game.
Ladies and gentlemen, they got a match.
The energy showed against Indiana.
You got a match, that energy.
Hopefully, you know, Julie's ran.
Who said this is Maybe this is a turning point.
Let's hope that it is a turning point.
Let's hope that it is because if you're gonna beat Portland and they're beatable, they don't have a very good defense.
You got a match, that energy defensively.
We cannot come out and switch against CJ McCollum, and they mean little it all night long.
If we do that, I think will be in trouble.
All right, You got two guards frightening Latina and R. J. Barrett.
Frankly, Lucchino, who is sooner or later going to be an elite defensive guard If he's not already in our J.
Barry, who was very good defensively, there's no reason to switch off.
No reason, because if you switch off with those guys, you're gonna get Damian Lillard defended by Julius Randle or defended by Tides Gibson.
That's not a good look.
Same thing with CJ McCollum.
If we switch, they're gonna abuse those guys now to discredit Mike under Mike Miller, we've seen less switching against Indiana.
We've seen guys fighting over those screens a little bit better, or at least a little bit more.
I want to see the same thing tonight.
First, the Portland Trail Blazers is really going to be important first, the Trailblazers, because they have two very good guards, two very good guards.
And if he switched on, those guys are gonna be in trouble now, speaking of them, having too good guards gotta help on Lillard and C.
Inevitably, those guys are gonna get past our Did Barrett C. J. McCollum.
Get past Barrett.
He'll get past Franklin Latina.
All right, It's going to happen.
You gotta be able to help.
You need help, side.
And then you gotta have somebody helping the helper sway.
Defense works the way it happens.
I said we're gonna need help.
No, I mean, what's got to be alert? Frankly, l Akina A and R. J. Barrett.
They're gonna need to trust that their teammates have their back so that they can play aggressive defense.
Because here's the thing.
If they don't trust that their teammates have their back and they won't play defense as aggressive.
And if they don't play defense as aggressive, did you gonna get them comfortable shots on the perimeter? Gonna let these guys get comfortable on the perimeter? Gonna let these guys be able to shake you up a little bit because you don't have much pressure defense if you trust.
Because when you play pressure defense, you're gonna get beat.
It's gonna happen.
But if you trust that you guys got your back and you could pressure up a little bit because you know someone's gonna help you until you recover.
And then you don't let these guys get comfortable.
That's all we can ask.
Garden. These two don't let him get comfortable.
Don't let him get to their spots.
Take advantage of a weaker defense.
Listen, the last three games, you play the number two.
Number three, number 10 defense in the league.
These guys in number 22 22nd best defense in the league.
So we get a little bit of a break.
Let's take advantage of it.
This is the time when we can really try to execute our offense.
We're probably not going to get as jammed up as we have against some of those other teams.
Um, tough teams will go. Defense is Milwaukee.
Tough defense is.
Milwaukee was third in the league at the time, Denver was second in the league time and Indiana was 10 or something like that. They might have been better.
They were the top.
There were top 10 defense.
Let's take advantage of a week of defense ball movement.
We've got to keep the ball moving, make them work on defense.
Their defense is not good.
That doesn't mean go ice.
So that means move the ball even better.
Continue to move that ball.
Keep a movement because obviously it gave up 150 points per game.
You move the ball, you're gonna find some holes in their defense.
You're gonna get some easy buckets at the basket.
That's what I'm looking to see.
Keep the ball moving, man movement and pay attention.
Mike Miller is going to use some triangle action.
You pay attention.
At some point in the game versus Indiana, you seem to try and go on one side of the floor and then you see the screen being set for the wing player on the other side of the floor.
Now I'm not saying that he's going full out.
Just seen is using some actions.
Uses some action.
He's a system type of guy.
Well, pretty sure he likes systems.
We'll see if he's here next year to really implement a system, but for now you're going to get to see bits and pieces of what he can do do not fall in the isil ball.
This game could be close.
I think I think this could be a close game, even though they do have guys that can light it up.
McCollum and Damian Lillard.
I think it could be a close game because they're not good defensively.
But those guys with Melo was, well, those two you guys, they're gonna play a lot of isil basketball.
The Trail Blazers only averaged 20 assists per game.
Like the Knicks.
I don't want the next to fall into that ice.
I mean, I already play Isil basketball.
We're trying to break the mold.
Mike Miller is gonna be trying to break those habits.
But this is a team that if you don't want to play like them, this is your playing like them.
Then you're playing ice.
Oh, so you don't want to fall into that isil bolt everything.
Don't worry about personal battles.
Let's just play basketball trying to play a team game.
Gotta play a team game.
Hi, ladies and gentlemen and I want to thank you guys for being here.
Hopefully the next bill to break this nine game losing streak tonight.
They can avoid this 10 game losing streak.
But I appreciate you guys being here.

Okay, ladies and gentlemen, let's take a listen to Mike Miller.
You heard, and I'm gonna go over it again before I get out of here.
And you heard what? My keys to the game on.
You've seen some of the numbers broken down.
Let's take a listen to Mike Miller.
See what he's thinking about the game.
See how he's feeling about the gate, All right.
And, um, you know, this would be wanted for this.
This, for me at least, is the first time that I've heard him speak before the game.
So, ladies and gentlemen, this is New York Knicks in term head coach Mike Miller.
Let's take a listen well, without divulging thing.
You know as well as we go into it.
How that's where.
You know, different boy.
This guy's Does pros like keeping, not want secrets? I mean, what? Well, we really started in real, simple terms that we just want to be better doing what we're doing every possession.
So it's just, you know, really getting to those and sticking to it, not read about a broad range of things that's really locked in these areas where we've shown that we could be pretty good.
Listen, let's do it for long stretches.
One of the themes of ball movement David former, is that something that I think I think it is, probably with.
Everything's always searching for that because it, you know, it just creates different, different things with the offense.
Doesn't matter really looked so it's more of the concept.
It's not really what we're doing, How we doing it kind of thing, you know.
But when the ball moves and improved had ups and downs in trouble, turnovers and things like that, I mean, have you seen him kind of the way you guys using, of course this season and what I think he has really, really played well.
And I couldn't even have any game go back really effective, really, really excited for him how to play on Saturday.
I love the energy in the Plains and all the different things that I thought he was trying to read into.
You guys seem to run that something you want, you have to be honest.
I couldn't even tell you their number if we really did.
I'm not sure you look more like that.
55 games were different.
Having coverage is, you know, you look at Indiana, where they really good, you know, waiting to begin one field goal percentage to defending the rim.
So you've got to move those guys around.
Maybe it was just a game that we got wrong issues this season.
You guys, are you doing anything different to try to rectify that problem? You have worked on free throw shooting since time, but they're different techniques.
Yeah, there's different.
Do you know the bottom line is this guy's getting comfortable stepping up there and doing what they're doing.
Guys throughout their careers, their scores.
You know how a season does something.
Sometimes I coach guys over the baby.
Don't get off to a great start.
When you look at the second half of the season, you see great trying to do with everything.
Just, you know, every team that we've been apart that's way better as WeII, he scores the ball.
Yeah, I've watched I watched a couple of games a few games.
Scoring the ball still presents the same problems he has been so good about coming in and getting his working on how he approaches every game been so impressed with his maturity as a young guy is a look.
I think cornices, just the experience of going through it, seeing different coverages and playing a different guy.
There's some things you do to get him ready job.
I mean, obviously there's more information about now more games for teams to evaluate him.
I mean, that would have been with making the adjustments counteract.
I think he studies that he wants to see those things on.
That's why he's been so fun to work with because he wants to get better.
He sees he's approaching each game knowing maybe something different.
Three point guards Still gonna you know, for example, those guys have things they bring to the table.
So based on the game and you know the game the other night, there was no plan to play it the way that we played, that was way.
That's that's kind of where we're gonna go.
WAY would've assumed going in.
We're getting off to a good start, so change that part of it on that.
We'll see how the game goes.
But we're confident and all the guys and no, we can use it to give the challenges that way had it for it's been around for a few years, so it's a very comfortable knowing, when way kind of going through it.
I think some of the data early that I've seen from the road may be a little different than what it was in the jewelry with how people used to.
Okay, so I think you used you used when you were sure that you saw that play and more so when you need to make changes.
Mo mentum foul on a guy that, you know.
Maybe it takes a basket away.
You try to use it where it's gonna be advantageous.
My experience with that is, you know, I think on average last year, Julie was like every coach used to challenge.
So it wasn't like it happens every game.
What's that thing in the morning? Maybe people use that early for saving until later, so it doesn't impact.
The game does an impact to think That's how you tried to use it.
You know, I've read all the comments on It's been interesting because we've been doing it four years later.
Challenge the final second there.
Indie couldn't count in the final two minutes.
You can challenge the Final Two user.
I don't think I know you have to do it.
Do it so again if you If if you didn't see it, did they have a timeout? But otherwise it made no sense.
It was It's different, but they might have saw an angle made.
There was contact.
Why waste It goes over time will say that might build a Ladies and gentlemen, there's one thing a big difference that I see from Mike Miller between Mike Bill and David Fizdale, Mike Millicent to be very in tune to the statistics of a game, recognising another team's strengths and weaknesses and had to capitalize against it.
Now it's hard for me to say whether or not coach David Fizdale did that because you didn't hear that much in the press conferences.
You didn't hear him talk about a team's percentage at this or that, maybe every once in a while.
But Mike Miller seems to.
It seems to just be part of who he is and what he does.
You know to really recognize the team's strengths and weaknesses, and how do we capitalize on on it? But sometimes if you're a good coach, you can even capitalize on the team's strengths.
I mean, I tell you what, and a u I do it all the time.
We play against somebody who has a guard that's really good at going to the basket and really good at scoring, and I tell my guard to pressure upon that guard because of your pressure on that guard.
He's gonna go back to his instincts and try to score the basketball every single time down the floor and then behold, that's what they do, and then they shut off everybody else on the team, right? So I just used his strength against him.
Mike Miller strikes me as that kind of a coach, just from the things that he says also people in there.
You did hear that.
He said He likes the way the team has been starting.
He's gonna continue to start, frankly, looking at point guard, you know, at least until the time being.
If something changes, it changes.
Graduate is gonna do.
For now, I'm interested to see how he works.
The rotation of Frank Miller, Kina Dennis Smith Jr and Elfrid Payton, now the Alfred pay in his back off injury.
I'm also interested to see if, in due time, if Alonso trail starts to get some burn in lieu off maybe Dennis Smith Jr or Wayne Ellington.
It's going to be based on what Mike Miller wants to do and how he wants to play the game.
Gonna be based on those things on who he used when he uses them.
How uses him? I did like, you know, what he said is it's far, you know, talking about effort.
Alfred pay in playing down the stretch against Indiana, he said, that's what the game dictated.
That's what the game gave us.
So that's what we went with.
Each game is gonna be different.
Every game's gonna have its own story.
So you know, there you go.
Big shout out to my man Rare form.
Thank you for becoming a member.
I appreciate you Rare form.
Just became a member of the nineties. Nix.
A big sad out to you, so I'm interested.
I like hearing Mike Miller.
I don't feel like he's selling me something.
Selling me a story.
He strikes me as a guy who is very nice, but I don't want to say he's nice, but he's also straight.
You know, the kind of guys like Listen, man, you know, you did everything right.
You did that, But you didn't do this.
So we got to make this change, you know, stuff that I could do about it and then go on with it.
That's what I feel from him.
I don't feel like he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that feels bad about He's probably not a screamer.
Ah, holler or yeller.
But he's more of a tactician.
It seems like to me, we'll see as we go forward.
We'll see as we go forward.
Also want to hear from R.
Barrett? Ladies and gentlemen, you are J.
Barry's feeling about this game.
You know he's matching up against CJ McCollum.
You know, it's a good matchup form.
You also got guys like Carmelo Anthony there.
You know, some of you guys are probably wondering why I didn't have Carmelo Anthony and one of my key matchups.
I wasn't gonna put him there just because he's Carmelo Anthony.
Obviously, he's a story line to the game, but he'll be a bigger story line when the Knicks come to when the Portland Trailblazers come to Madison Square Garden.
That's when you're gonna have a bigger story line, you know.
Ah, about Carmelo Anthony.
Come into the garden.
You know, um, you know what? Melo is Just gonna be Julie's.
Randall's got a garden not going to kill Julius Randle with speed.
It's not gonna kill him with talent.
Gonna shoot mid range jump shots.
Dooley's Randy got to be able to stay in front of that.
I gotta be a matchup.
You see, those two guys play one on one over the summer, right? That would be a match upto watch.
It should be a fun matchup.
Let's listen to R.
Barrett, though, because you know R J.
Barrett wants to be mentioned in the likeness of guys like Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum and come up on Carmelo Anthony.
Let's listen to R. J. Barrett.
Ladies and gentlemen, do you feel the difference with practice these last two days running? E.
He's a different guy, so of course it's gonna be a little different, but just stick together, really.
I mean, I looked like you had a different strategy against Indiana.
Not switching is, Is that something that you think it's gonna continue on with trying through E.
I know, you know, it's been a few days now, but you it's still okay with what had transpired.
I mean, there's a tougher the teams time to, you know what happened, how it's tough, but I think we responded great game playing games and like I said, this is a business stuff.
What happened? But I still have a whole season ago.
You gotta move on and get better.
Hey, Mike, tough.
You individually unlocking some things that maybe work more happening on the offensive end.
You like messages? He way spoke.
Just continue to do what I've been doing just collectively.
So did you see that when you walked in? I've already been Oh, this is nothing new.
This is my place, This home.
So you because you're talking about.
But, you know, when I was with you, I don't really know.
I only know exactly words to describe it, but it's two different kind of, you know, styles, different ways.
Wait the whole games free booth way.
Give ourselves a chance to win your first time.
What's it like when you go against game like you get like stars like these guys? I think really think about it.
Just just like that.
Our car just like course.
They're great players, but I'm gonna be play like that one day.
So you are Carmelo during those, uh, now we're on the same team.
So do you guys work well together? Great.
They're looking for growing up, so it's gonna be a lot of fun.
Obviously, that was ah, recording yesterday.
But this anybody and I think I see somebody in the There's anybody get the feeling that r J.
Berry and I think Greenhouse just mentioned it and maybe some other people.
That's the only person that I saw.
But anybody get the feeling that R.
Barry it's not too concerned about Coach Fizdale being let go.
I don't know what the relationship was like or not like, but I feel like he's not as worried about Coach fishtail being fired.
You know, everyone else is kind of like the coach was my guy.
You know, I really like Coach Fizdale.
He's going to be part of us forever.
You know, R J is kind of like is tough, but we got to keep moving, you know, I don't know.
I feel like maybe I feel like from the coaching tree that R.
I don't want to see the coaching tree that he comes from from the coaches that he's had in the past before David Fizdale.
Mike Miller is going to be more in tune to those type of guys.
That's what I feel like.
You know, I feel like he's gonna be more in tune, so he's gonna be more used to.
He's gonna be used to what Mike Miller does and what coach Fizdale does, because Mike Miller is probably more like his previous coaches, you know? Yeah, Guillermo, Exactly, you said.
I think they think Fizz was a good guy but was not a good coach.
Say I agree with that because they all talked about how he was a good guy.
They really liked Coach Fizdale.
Um, you heard Dennis Smith Jr said.
You know, that's that was like losing a brother.
But you know what? It shouldn't be like losing a brother should be like losing the coach.
You know, I'm saying shouldn't be like losing a brother.
That was the issue.
That was the biggest issue to me.
The biggest issue with David Fizdale.
You can't be like a friend or brother with these guys.
Got to be a coach.
That's what I think Mike Miller is gonna be.
You know, I'm saying he may not relate to those guys the same way that Coach Fitz they're related to him.
You know, culturally may not relate to him that way, but that's okay.
It's not wrong with that. It's a matter of fact.
It may make them look at him in a different light because he doesn't have that same.
He doesn't really on that level.
They might look at him more as a coach than a friend.
It doesn't mean that every you know, every because Mark Jackson could probably relate on that level is well, but the things that he'll demand from them would make them look at him.
Look at Mark Jackson as a coach.
The same way that was Fizdale issue man to me.
These guys got about 10 minutes left.
Ladies and gentlemen, give me a call if you wanna get you get your two cents in on Tonight's game was deported.
Trailblazers call the young Live on after, but Nick's was popping.
Then what's going on? My man was going on with you, brother.
How you feeling? Going good, man.
Listen, it's been a long time. I haven't court, man.
No, But let me tell you this, right.
Before, before I get to what I was saying, I don't weigh happy Late holidays, Human.
I was going to give him It was great, man. Appreciate.
How was yours? Minds is great.
No, Get back without saying.
You know, I think meat is was a great was a great guy.
I know. I don't think I don't like him.
What I feel like main reason why he brought him here was to try to recruit guys like LeBron and a bee.
And it didn't work out.
Now, when you look at this, I feel like in my right mind that d'oh was I mean to me in that always four.
What got on the stand? How many coaches the team is gonna go through and in.
And the next thing you know, it's still the same problem.
If you look at the lift.
The Gar, many coaches they had and add a spelling shelling peas on the loan coach, I could say that Eddie to the playoff maybe twice under them with my words, But they're I don't say I have to blame 100 because he didn't have the place.
But at the same time, for us to lose badly crosses your job, you get what I'm saying.
Them, huh? No, I get what you're saying.
I get what you're saying.
Um, no, no, I feel like my pillow.
Um, give him a shot.
It's too early right now.
and if we're looking at the next course, But I think Jeff Van got he knows the game very well and just talking about fine from my job.
And I think you got a guy go Steve Mills, you understand, because you the truth, how many coaches you're gonna go through and it's still the same problem.
Now I feel you, and and I think that I feel you there and I think Steve Mills is going to be relocated.
That's what I think.
I just think it's going to be relocated looking to another part of the garden.
Now what I'm telling you, I'm not making this stuff up.
This is real stuff.
I see it comin that one world Mike Woodson, even though the way they did Mike Woodson pretty the 23rd 2014 seasons.
I think that was kind of Oh, that was kind of unfair.
Um, well, Mike D'Antoni was the worst one.
I could say that was the worst one.
Um, like the list just goes on and on and on and on, and then yet, But then again, you're still the same problem.
Now, I could guarantee you you have Mike Miller here it's still gonna be the same problem.
And you go to get another court.
Still the same problems you wanna watch because you gotta have the players Gotta have the place in the front office mindset.
Got gotta be on point.
Got hired the right person at Steve Miller's position.
Who knows how to recruit place if he if he knows how to recoup place at least try.
You understand that? I understand you travel Kevin Durant and then you tried with Sorry.
And you didn't get them.
I understand that.
But at least I'm making New York and see that you're trying.
But I think the next person to be out Steve knows Thanks for taking my costume and have a blessed, uh, Christmas if I don't get you.
All right, man, I appreciate you.
You two have a blessed one yourself.
I mean, listen, I think that if James Dolan can get missile, you Jerry, Steve Mills is gonna be gone.
He probably should be going out. Probably.
He should be gone regardless now.
So I think that James Dylan is gonna fire him from Madison Square Garden.
No, he might relocate a movement to another part of Madison Square Garden or whatever it is, something like that.
I do not think he's just gonna fire him, You know, he's no longer working at the guard.
I mean, look. Look at Isaiah Thomas.
Still working at the garden.
Oh, Lisi was whenever what they're for, You know, um, that's what I think.
What happened? I who knows? I'm pretty sure they're going to give him until the end of the season.
And I'm hoping that they're going to give Mike Miller It's the end of the season as well.
You know, to me I got a time for a couple more phone calls.
Ladies and gentlemen, give me a call.
516 405 to 246 I'd like to hear your opinion.
Like to hear your opinion on, um, tonight's game was the Portland Trailblazers again.
The Knicks played important troubles tonight at 10 p.
It is a late one there on the West Coast trip.
Ladies and gentlemen, Donna, West Coast trip.
And this is a winnable West Coast trip.
Does that mean that the names will win? It does not, but it is winnable.
The Portland Trail Blazers they played tonight.
It's winnable, folks.
That's winnable for the Knicks.
Portland Trailblazers do not have a good defense.
They are, you know, they got a good offense, but the defense isn't good at all.
Their defense is ranked 22nd in the league.
You know, over the past three games, we played the federal best defense in Milwaukee, the second best defense in Denver, and we play the top 10 defense in Indiana.
You got blown out the 1st 2 with Lise, where Indiana was close.
You take a look at the upcoming schedule on the Knicks, Maybe.
And of course, you know teams do this all the time.
You know they fire the fire.
A coach, you know, just in time put into place.
Um, some favorable teams Take a look at what's coming up over the next few games and explain the Portland Trail Blazers tonight.
It's, um, all night they play the Golden State Warriors.
State Warriors are terrible team right now, although they have, they have more wins than the next.
There's still a terrible team.
The Sacramento Kings did it the next play, the Sacramento Kings, after they played the Golden State Warriors.
Then you play the Nuggets.
Obviously, the Nuggets blew us out.
Then we played the Atlanta Hawks, right? And then you see the Miami Heat.
But you know, I'm still stopping at the Hawks over the next 12345 games.
At least four of those games are winnable.
Is it possible that the Knicks could go on a little? Many street kids, you know, maybe tie together some wins, make Mike Miller look good.
Make Mike Miller looks look good.
Is it possible that they could do it? I hope so.
Hopefully we can together tied together a few wins.
You know, get some energy back with the fans.
You know, call your allow another. But Nick's was popping.
A man is doing what's going on about how you feel it.
I'm good. Are you? I'm good.
So tell me You think the Knicks could get a win tonight? I think it's gonna be gonna be tough because, you know, it's like a It's a mellow, mellow over branch game.
His own your revenge game.
They're gonna come out hard.
But you know Damian Lillard.
See, Jamie called him, but I really like what Michael is doing, man.
I think he's got the defense kind of figured out, like six with the whole switching thing, Uh, cutting down on a switching, Uh, think, like, basically, we don't have a chance.
We have a chance in this West Coast trip for sure.
Um, you know, Yeah, but definitely.
Like you said, with the switching, and tonight it's gonna be important.
It's gonna be important that they don't do a lot of switching tonight because you deal with Damian Little CJ McCollum.
It is important that you don't do a lot of switching tonight, and then the early foul trouble with Frank, that's not happen tonight as well, too.
Yeah, hopefully, hopefully, you know, the good thing is, if that happens, you got overpaying who can also play some defense.
He's not Probably not the defender that Frank Miller Keane is, but he could play some defense.
Um, yeah, you definitely need thio not have Frank really keen to get into foul trouble.
To be honest with you, I'm really worried about Randall getting lit up by mellow man.
Yeah, Listen, I'm gonna tell you what they played some one on one.
And this isn't working out over the summer.
And you better believe that Mellow knows what he can and can't do against Julius Randle Metal.
He's a smart is gifted offense, a player He knows what he can and can't do against Julius Randle.
And I'm pretty sure he knows you know where he can score against Julius Randle.
So it depends on if Melo was hot and not.
You know, I'm saying he's hot.
He's not something super hard, but he's super hot.
Last game, he had nine points.
He shot about 22% in the field.
So we need that Mello to show up tonight.
That's the mellow we need to show up tonight.
Yeah, exactly. Exactly.
I have my Coleman.
I'll look to call back again another day, So All right, man, please say you have a good one.
A man could let the next step.
Ladies, gentlemen, I'm almost down to the end of the show.
I couldn't take a whole lot of calls, but, you know, it is what it is.
The Chatham gets home shortly.
But what I want to do before I get there For those who have just joined him.
And thank you for joining me.
I appreciate you.

So let me go ahead in talk about this pregame game preview really quick before I jump about.
The Knicks play tonight at 10 o'clock.
I guess it is a West Coast game.
West Coast game.
So is the late game 10 o'clock at the Motor Center in Portland.
Brmsg to be on NBC S N W In Portland, you can listen to it on 98.
5 in New York or Rip City Radio, 6 20 Important.
The Knicks have 4 19 on the season.
The projected starters for tonight.
Frightening Latina, R.
Barrett, Marcus Morris, Julius Randle, Taj Gibson.
And if you, if you were here earlier, you heard.
Mike Miller say is not changing a lot.
He likes finally looking at point guard feels the teams were getting off the good starts.
If you didn't get a chance, you can always go back and check it out.
Injury report for the Knicks. Reggie Bullock as the neck.
And we'll see if Wayne Ellen's is gonna play because he was out against Indiana with a sore Achilles.
The Portland Trailblazers.
They're nine and 15.
It projected starters of Damian Lillard.
CJ McCollum Can't base more.
Carmelo Anthony Assigned Whiteside Rodney Hood.
He's out with an Achilles inner kitsch.
He's been out the entire season with a lower leg.
Let's take a look at some of the numbers as we compare the teams the Knicks on a nine game losing streak, and they don't want to make it 10 important Trailblazers.
On a two game losing streak, the Knicks average 100.
6 points per game.
They gave up 111 points per game.
1% from the field, 35.
6% from three, the average 44.
5 rebounds per game, 20 assists per game and 14.
9 turnovers per game.
The offensive ratings.
One O'Toole that's 30th in the league defensive rating is 1 12.
5 That's 24th in the league.
They got a losing streak of their own.
It's only two games go on a two game losing streak, average 112.
7 points per game, but they gave up 115.
4 points per game.
They don't have that great of a defense issue.
45% from the field, 36.
3 rebounds per game, 20.
1 assists per game.
5 turnovers per game.
The offensive rating is 109.3.
That's 10th in the league, and their defense of rating is 1 11.
8 It's 22nd in the league.
The Knicks really need to take advantage of playing against a week of defense for once.
Right? Milla Qena defending against Damian Lillard.
That's going to be key.
Damian Lillard, 6 £295 Average 26.
7 points but gained 4.
6 rebounds per game, 7.
4 assists in one steal.
3% from the field, 35% from three Frightening Latina.
He happens to 6.
4 points per game.
3 steals per game issues 38.
3% from the field and 35.
But that's not what we're really worried about.
What, frankly, Latina.
Obviously, people want him to score better, but we need him to play defense on Damian Lillard.
We need a frightening Latina to keep Damian Lillard from going crazy.
He's going to score points anyways, probably gonna score 25 26 27 points, anyway.
But we need, frankly looking to make it tough.
Hopefully, we keep it at a low shooting percentage.
Gonna be important that we don't switch off.
No switching tonight.
Our switches on Lee Switch one is really necessary, right? So we need frightening Latina to play good defense on Damian Lillard.
Sees a McCullum in R J. Barrett.
He's 631 90 averages 22 points again, 4.
5 rebounds, beginning 3.
8 assists and just under one steel per game.
7% from the field, 38.7% from three.
Barrett is 66 to 14 averages 14.
3 points per game, 5.
3 rebounds per game, 3.
3 assists just under one steel per game.
He's shooting at 39.
5% from the field, which is down from what he was doing earlier in the season.
Course coach Fizdale was using for a lot of minutes.
I'm not going to say that.
That's the reason why shooting this way, though it's probably just because he's rookie.
You also shoot 31% from three.
But this is a good matchup for R. J. Barrett.
McCollum is crafty.
Finds way to score.
You know he's finally finds different ways to score.
Our job is gonna have to be on his game defensively.
But R J barrettes crafty till he finds ways to score two.
And he can keep the pressure on C. J. McCollum.
He could make C J.
McComb have to play defense.
You got a guy that could school.
If you can make a play defense, hopefully you can use those legs so they get into the fourth quarter.
Maybe they don't have enough power on this shot.
Maybe the shooting short.
Something like that.
Barrett could, you know, put some pressure on C. J. McCollum to play defense.
Sick of the keys to the game, My keys to the game.
That is Number one.
We need the next to match the energy.
This is me talking to the Knicks.
I say match the energy you showed mercy.
That's me talking to the next right.
So then I need them to match the energy, the shoulders. Indiana.
Play with that same intensity.
Play with the same intensity.
You got a chance to win this game.
You're playing against a team that doesn't have that good of a defense.
You got a chance to win.
Got a chance to do it.
We got to come out and play with that same energy.
I just talked about it.
You gotta have a limited switching.
You can't switch all over the place with Damian Lillard getting, you know, you know they switch off, and all of a sudden, Julius Randle's Garden, Damian Lillard or Julius Randle's Garden, CJ McCollum or Tides Gibson is guarding.
One of those two guys will be in trouble.
We will be in trouble, so we need to limit our switches Onley switch when it's necessary, we need to help are lowered and McCollum.
It's gonna be important that Frank Miller, Kina, Arja Bear they know that if they get beat, it got somebody backing them up and then somebody's backing up in helping the helper.
Those are important items because this will allow Frank Millikin and R.
Barrett to play aggressive on ball defense if they're worried that someone's not gonna help him out and they're gonna play back a little bit and then you're gonna let those guys get comfortable, get comfortable with the rhythm dribbles get comfortable pulling up the jump shot you don't want doctors didn't want trouble, take advantage of a week of defense.
I mentioned this earlier.
These guys the 22nd and league, they'll let you score that.
They gave up 115 points per game.
So let's move the ball.
Undoubtedly, there's gonna be holes in their defense if we move the ball.
If we move, the ball will find holes in their defense ball movement.
It's what I was just talking about.
We gotta move that basketball ball movement, man moving.
All right, and then do not fall in the isil ball.
This is a team that plays a lot of Isil lacing basketball.
Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, Carmelo Anthony.
They only averaged 20 assists per game.
They are going to play Isil ball.
We're trying to break that habit.
We're trying not to play Isobel.
So let's not fall into playing Isil ball with these guys.
They see if we can step outside of that.
It was taken, and we and we start to play Aisa Aisa basketball against them and we play their game. We're gonna lose.
We will lose that game 100% of the time is they just have better isolation players.
Those are my keys to the game, ladies and gentlemen.
So before I get out of here, I got, like, two minutes left for Get out of here.
You know, I want to say what's up to the guys in the video chat? I get these guys real quick to give me their take on tonight's game on, and then I'm gonna jump up out of here.
All right? So, Andy, I'm gonna come to you.
Then I will come to market their time to get out of here.
Because, you see, I got my I got my coaching.
I got my coaching gear on, right.
And, um, I got to get to the game.
All right? So, Andy Well, quick.
What's your take on tonight's game? Yeah, what's up? Some, uh, was a jet.
I actually agree with every point you made on the on your scouting report.
I add only maybe play a little bit more.
Pick and roll When, uh, when Whiteside is on the bench, I think we can really take advantage off the 1415 and even know R.
J playing with typical role.
Ah, would Randall or or with Mitch? I think that's gonna be the key to the game because they have a really weak defense inside when Whiteside is on the bench.
So I had no 10 12 15 maybe maybe 20 points.
No, from easy pick and rolls.
And that's actually one of the keys that I was so happy when I was watching the Pacers game.
Only two first at the adjustments I saw from Mike Miller may making to the next Waas stop switching and adding a little bit more pick and roll in spring rolls to the offensive game That really made me happy.
And those were the keys.
And actually, you know what? I don't think we even need a w here.
Ah, I think as long as we're going to see Miller implement ah, Riel accountability and, you know, stop switching and stuff like that.
The minor, which is in the in holes tactics over the current Knick team.
I think I'm gonna be fine with it.
I can take a loss because poor son know that they're not a really pretty good team.
But, you know, they're beautiful, but, you know, you can't know, Expect from Miller to take over a demon and start to get, you know, double use, like, you know, 600% wise and stuff like that.
But he's not gonna win six out of next 10 or stuff like that.
All one more thing, I think it's it's really bad luck for us, because if we had that Golden State game today and know the person came tomorrow, I think we can actually pull this Golden State game out to know tomorrow we might be no exhausted after this game because it's a backpack that that stuff look for us.
But, you know, like I said, I'm gonna be happy if I'm going to see the things I I saw and you put it out and stuff.
Good, which I had a little bit more time.
But I do got to get to the game, so Mark will come to you real quick.
Go ahead, Mark. Talk to me by the man.
Um, me personally, I'll put our German a lot of our post ups bunks on Lexie Tico Mismatch.
I will get our Jane mismatch between Lillet in C J and oppose a lot because again, 83 defense is trash without lights are, you know, white side there from time to time.
Watching Whiteside is like watching someone.
They're going to want to play basketball like No, he's not a fact that he's a flaw.
Basically, I think when when he's on the floor, it is a better chance teams to score because he's lazy.
So I would put R J and oppose a lot amongst the guards.
Find a lot of Mitch match when it comes to the guards because the guards, the guards is to small.
So as I told I told you from the beginning to see that a lot of up generated from and then I'll get our shots were opened up so personally need I would start in a post a lot with r J.
Get him get him percolating first because he's a rhythm player.
I don't like to see him, you know, throughout the game, you know, get the ball and you don't get the ball.
Foreign loan a post Boeing opposed.
And I want to see a lot of, ah, face tool.
Tell me out like the next.
Better with pace instead of half court sets because may not have core team because they don't have half court spore roots big, you know of shots with good defense on him.
So, you know, just play tough, you know, from the picking role as I've been seeing Lions game.
Just please, please limit the threes, for Christ sakes, old my God.
And was that That's gonna be a tough task playing against these guys because, you know, she's calling me a little stick with the guards, but they scored the paint.
Cool, but don't give up the three.
But when you kill the tree, it becomes a habit, and they don't just don't guard it.
So meet personally.
I will go through my old guard inside the pink like honey, don't go.
All right, bit you got You got the next getting a win tonight.
50 50 Because I don't wanna win.
And I don't want to lose men because watching the game within the games and we have a chance The where you get me high on What? The dog I want the star.
What? The dog coming on.
I know what you got.
People think that Oh.
Oh, about plans for this team.
But I'm your future.
I want to continue like crap.
Let me get out of here, man.
I gotta get I got a game tonight.
I got to get to the game.
I appreciate you guys were jumping on with me.
Ladies and gentlemen.
Thank you guys would be here.
I will be on tonight after the game.
The game starts at 10 o'clock.
Ah, I'll be on after the game.
But I gotta head up out of here because I got to get to.
I got to get to my own game.
All right? So you guys be peaceful and I see ya later, man matter here, he's
