Everybody is We're back on the sports this year.
And SportsCastr, thank you so much for stopping by.
Today is a fantastic matchup slated ahead of today, this one kicking off at 4:25 p.
Eastern time actual at stadium.
By the way, I'll be on the call for this game.
Here is we have the Kansas City Chiefs versus the New England Patriots.
The chief's heading into this match up with an eight and four record five and one this year on the road as the Patriots are on the feet of five and went home with a 10.
And to record so far to see isn't walking.
And Gavin, my man.
Thanks so much for dropping by over on the broadcast year for this Patriots preview as they take on Kansas City in this game.
A F C championship game, a rematch all the way from last season here.
The Patriots are three point favorites ahead of this game away there today, the over on their set up 49 a half points.
Now the chief's lead overall, Siri's a team wins by Kansas City.
The 16 losses and three ties between these two for all time.
Siri's the Patriots Thio, though, winning the last two meetings, 43 40 last year, back in the regular season, October 14th of 2018.
And then the Patriots getting the NFC title game, 37 31 back on January 20th 2019.
Now the last Patriots lost by the way against the Chiefs was back at home.
That was the last off second to last loss that they did have at Gillette as they have 1 21 ST.
But that game took place on September 7th, 2017.
That was 42 the 27 victory by the Cheese, where Alex Smith was looking like a star out there, he was like an M V P forms for like the first, like month or so that season back in 2017.
But Alex Smith was the quarterback two years ago at four touchdown passes.
I know Karim Hunt had a huge game that game two years ago for Kansas City taking a look towards the injury report, though for today, as last week, the Patriots, at 17 players list that question on that injury report.
And none of those players were dealing with an illness that they had to take down two separate flights.
The one flight for the healthy.
Another plane for the L players.
There's the Patriots have all but one recovered from the flu bug only player that it's still eloped.
The moment is on.
The offensive line is that is, markets cannon, as he's still is having that illness as he did not look like he was like anywhere like close, the like.
Being himself after that Cowboys victory is I took a look at the YouTube video afterwards, and everybody was giving Robert Kraft like handshakes after the game.
And he looks so under the weather that he had to give Craft a fist fist bump after the Cowboys victory two weeks ago.
With the flu bug basically over for the Patriots, by the way, the Patriots signed back their old kick or neck folk as he is back after his appendectomy last week.
I'm Thanksgiving as they have released Chi for about the Patriots did try the sign kicker Chase McLaughlin off waivers.
Former kicker from the 40 Niners, but he was clean first and waiver process, but Indianapolis Colts.
Welcome to the broadcast, Baby Shark J 93 Things so much for stopping by over here.
So we take a look at the injury report for today for these two teams, as the Patriots have two players that haven't ruled out had this match of 1st 1 defensive lineman Byron cowards with a head injury.
He is out defensive.
Also, offensive lineman Ted Caress is out with a knee injury.
The rest are questionable here.
Welcome to the broadcast worldwide West.
Thanks so much for stopping by over here on the sports dish on SportsCastr.
As far as the Patriots question balls for this game, wide receiver Mohamed Sanu question ball seems wide receiver joint. Edelman.
But Edelman has been questionable for quite a while on the injury report he has played ever since Safety Patrick Chung.
Cornerback Jason McCord.
A game time decision.
If he cannot go, that means that J. C.
Jackson will be will be receiving some more snaps in his place once again a linebacker.
Jawan Bentley, also questionable.
Last player here.
Still recovering from the illness is offensive tackle markets cannon.
As far as the Kansas City Chiefs had this match up here.
Running back Damian Williams is out for this game.
He is inactive tonight, for the chief says that is, Ah, big player in the backfield.
After Kansas City, he torched the Patriots linebacking corps underneath and had a big touchdown reception that a F C title game.
So Damian Williams, inactive today with ribs, injury cornerback Mo Claiborne also out with a shoulder injury in the secondary and another cornerback or shot Fenton, also out for the Chiefs with a hamstring injuries.
Three players out to in the secondary.
One of them their main running back for this game, as far as the two players as question while the 1st 1 is defensive and Frank Clark, second player is safety Jordan and Lucas now as far as the chief's here.
Chief's coming off a t******* 42 9 defeat over the Oakland Raiders last Sunday that she's just crushed Oakland last Sunday.
Yet the passing attack is still struggling, not back to their usual form from last season, when Patrick Meow meow Holmes was M v P Tyree, Kill was balling it up, grabbing deep ball after deep ball down the field, Padma homes on Lee passed the ball for 175 passing yards last Sunday against Oakland.
Even though they put up a 40 spot on the board, He want 15 for 29 passing with one passing touchdown now.
The defense stepped up big time last week that she said the big pick six.
They picked up Derek Carr two times in that game.
Now, as far as the Patriots here, the Patriots and their offensive identity, it's still yet to be seen this season.
They are struggling big time off offensively, especially with that young receiving corps turned over all over the place in the off season.
How much turnover they had with no more Rob Gronkowski there, they brought in some new tight ends.
Look, Austin is, though they haven't been the answer whatsoever to seize.
And I rather see Duane now and back on the roster, tohave him block up front there and get the running game going to be a big help to block up from.
But unfortunately, he was let go in the off season here, Um, Gavin, pointing out defense's, has figured out Patrick Mahomes to there.
Yeah, um, that's correct.
There I'll go, I'll go through the later a little bit, but I feel like the Chiefs will struggle today because they're not really looking underneath.
Passing attack, where Houston beat up the Patriots last week on their needs with Duke Johnson now, is that what the chief's coming in with, like zero identity as Faras? They're Russian game.
I think that could be a big, big thing for the Patriots.
All they have to do is just stop the passes downfield by my homes in this one.
But as far as the Patriots here is that it was basically joined Gentleman and James White last week, that was all that showed up in the in the receiving game there.
Nothing else that's happened.
The keel, Harry just non existence.
Just no separation with other survivors.
Here's receivers, Philip Door said.
It's been struggling like ever since week.
Week two and beyond.
He has been struggling to gain separation.
He had that big game in the season opener against the Steelers.
After that is just going non existent throughout the rest of the season, and Phillip Dorsett isn't really known to be that like long downhill receiver here for the pictures they were trying to get Dorset on the deep ball and Dever double covered, covered a couple of times in the last game, and that just didn't happen there.
Philip Door set on that type of pattern down the field.
That doesn't work for that type of receiver, though.
Jacoby Meyers is the one I like to see here break out in this game for the Patriots.
He's had a couple of big games with some move the chains receptions here and there.
He's had a couple of big drop passes over the past few weeks, but he has been been the one that Tom's been targeting the most.
That all those receivers lately, though that's able to gain that separation.
But getting the separation down the field spent a huge problem for the Patriots.
They have zero offensive identity.
I do question the play, but calling by Josh McDaniels in the last game to going for on Fort Down and fourth and inches.
They shouldn't just ran the football.
The middle could've got the first down.
Could've snuck it in with Tom Brady anyway, on the fourth and one play, but no t dropback play action.
Pass the door set and Of course, it fell incomplete here, but they need a whole lot of, like balance there with this attack.
They had a great first drive against the Texan says.
They ran the ball down the field.
Sonia's show pounded the Rock for 33 yards total on that first drive, and then after that, he only gained well.
He only gained, like 12 yards out of that after the gate.
After that first, Dr I said I was at Sony.
Michelle finished with 45 yards against Houston.
He had 33 on his first drive to the Patriots.
In this game, they really do need to pound the rock.
I'll go over that and the keys to the game in a little bit here.
But as far as the Patriots offense with Tom Brady, he is coming off the worst three games.
Completion percentage wise straight in his career, 26 for 47 passing, only 55% completion percentage three weeks ago against Philadelphia.
And then the following week, he was 17 for 37 passing, with a completion percentage of 46% against the Cowboys.
Last week, he followed it up with only 51% completion of his passes versus the Texans, where he was 24 47.
You expect Brady to drop back 47 times.
There's just not really, like much going on with rushing the football welcome in Rocket Blast Joe over to the broadcast.
I appreciated, though, but a good second half good fourth quarter from James White, though, could bring in a little bit of momentum.
James White was the leading ballcarrier.
Most of that was in garbage time production, though a SZ faras the Russian game.
James White with a career high rushing yardage as far, I think, his longest total run of his Patriot.
I think it was like 31 yard run.
I believe in that game there last week against Houston.
But the Patriots, that's the problem, is struggling.
Rushing the football.
They have yet to have a 100 plus yard rusher all season long.
Now, Sony Michelle What I talked about earlier 33 yards in that first drive.
Then he only saw the field and rushed for 12 more rushing yards.
All game total 45 in the last game here, but the pagers focal point.
I believe in this game has to be pounding the rock running the football.
That is what they have to accomplish here against the Kansas City defense.
I feel like the chief's defense is simply isn't good enough to stop the run in this game.
Number two is that Kansas City's defense just has been having difficulties all season long, trying to get off the field of stock the wrong.
They were gassed up a bunch of time, but a bunch of times by multiple running backs.
And the Indianapolis Colts were the best team that showed that all season long on that Sunday night game, where they just gave the ball constantly.
Marlon Mack, Marlon Mack, Marlon McKinney kept on chunking out yards, 56 yards, picking up first down after first down at the first down.
And before you know it, the courts had possessed the football for like 38 minutes, where the Chiefs only had the football for like 24 minutes on that clock during that game.
But key number one here for the Patriots, and I'm gonna go over the keys right now.
Success for both these teams today.
As a look towards this, Patriots Chiefs preview.
Number one key for the Patriots has to be pounding the rock today, getting back to the old school Russian game with what they did last season.
During September our December, they were able to unleash the Russian game there with Tony Michelle and the pages will have to get that offensive line going something and struggled to dio throughout the entirety of the season.
Get the Russian game going as well as the chief's defense ranks.
30th Ray now on NFL As far as their rush defense now, Kansas City has given up 91 1st downs to the run so far this season.
That is second most behind the Bangles so far this season.
So number one number one key has to be the Patriots getting back to running the football.
I feel like it's going to be a good good weather for today.
Cold weather out there, 30 degrees at Gillette.
Nothing better than pounding the rock.
And that's what the pages are gonna have to accomplish today.
Building off some of the late mo mentum last week, which James White had finishing with just above 70 rushing yards in the last game of key number two for success today for the Patriots has to be the stop.
Patrick moans in the passing attack, stopping these two top targets entirely in the scheme.
Tyree killing Travis Kelsey.
Those are the two players that the Patriotssecondary will have to lock up upon.
And I feel like if they just go for the deep ball it constantly, and this game, the Tyreke L.
I feel like it's not gonna work.
I feel so confident that the secondary is there.
The Patriots of a stellar secondaries.
The fun Gilmore, Devin McCourty, Jonathan Jones, J. C. Jackson.
I feel like those players can step up locked down there, locked down what they could do on coverage there.
I feel like Maur.
The concern is what Houston tried to do last week with them and pass the ball underneath the Duke Johnson junior.
That's where he was able to work on a linebacker and coverage and get a touchdown into the end zone.
I feel like Kansas City probably won't be able to get that going in this game because they don't have Damian Williams, no Jamie and Williams.
So there's a load of the leeway there for the Patriots defense to know what to expect.
Probably they'll be seeing a lot of the gun slinging going on with my home.
Since they also don't really have a Russian game for Kansas City.
They are basically one dimensional.
When no running back here, they signed back to their roster.
Spencer, where Spencer, where hasn't played like, hasn't made an impact in the NFL since he was a chief back in 2016.
He's barely plead beyond 2016.
Do the injuries.
That is a main concern.
The Russian game in general for the Chiefs in this one to the Patriots.
I bet the Patriots are gonna expect pass after pass after pass in this game for patching the homes.
Key number three.
The success here for the Patriots will be.
That's one Kansas City.
What I just talked about will most likely be one dimensional here as the chief's.
They've struggled to rush the football season long, 24th in NFL, rushing the ball.
But there's just a little concerned there.
I feel like a little concern that I have that the Patriots will have.
The Patriots will not struggle.
I bet that they just won't struggle all when it comes to giving up big yardage, their running backs.
I feel confident that the Patriots won't will be able to just stop the run entirely.
I don't think that Kansas City's rushing attack is there, especially what shady McCoy now to be the lead back, is basically behind his prime years there that take the load going.
But we saw something interesting that match up with Frank Gore and in the Bills back in a week.
Oh, so we'll see if there's another player here in a father, timeless that can be able to rush over the Patriots.
But I don't expect it to happen since Damian Williams is out.
Spencer, where signed earlier this week, hasn't really had that impact since 2016.
I feel confident that the Patriots are able to stop it.
Give Kansas City difficulties all day long with air rushing teams, Just take him out of the game or they're rushing the football and Casey will have to become a one dimensional team.
And that is how the Patriots will just they'll just have to stop Tyree Kill and Travis Kelsey after now, they'll have to go to the other options out there.
Hardman is another wide receiving option.
Another one of those impact players, as far as a speed start at the Patriots, will have to take away.
So the pager is the big key here is that they're gonna have to take away the big playability.
That's how the chief's drive is big, big passes down the field, like 60 70 yard balls.
We saw that last season with Cheon Crossing and coverage in the NFC Championship game, that the Chiefs had very little momentum and that first half until patching Mahomes hitched up on a long ball in the third quarter early third quarter over the Tyree kill.
And now we'll get to, well, one of the big key components here.
The very last key for the Patriots.
And this one has to be the Patriots receivers being on the same page as Tom Brady.
They will have to be on the same page, all game long as TV 12 and they'll have to step up big time, find some separation out in the secondary.
Here, it seems like it's only about joining Element and James White. That is it.
The two players that Tom Brady has relied upon now Tom just keeps on going to an element on third down after third down after third down, third down. Conversion boom.
Right into gentleman.
Welcome in Dave with the Dolphins.
I appreciate it.
Thanks so much for stopping by over here in the broadcast right now, but as far as Tom Brady, there just needs to be separation with the other wide receivers. Players.
A step up Jacoby Meyers in the keel Harry Philip Door set hasn't been a player has gone off since Week one against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the opening night games.
So I like Philip Door sets or really step up.
Since he is the number three wideout on this team, he needs to step up here in this game as well.
Same as a tight ends, every single one of them.
Ben Watson, Mala Cause Ryan is Oh, these guys really needs a proved the Doubters wrong and show Gronkowski that they can fill and and they can be ableto come.
Combine all three of them and ship into the productivity of what Gronkowski has had in years past year for the Patriots.
Is that the tight ends real, you need to step it up as well, and I feel like if Tom Brady can have some, just if you can spread out that football here and they could be on all on the same page they've been they've been putting in the effort all this season, the Patriots wide receivers, that tight ends they've been putting in the effort.
Only problem is, is just the execution.
When it comes gametime, it's just dropped passes all over the place.
Players running wrong routes, Tom trying to signal over the Jacoby buyers to run this route.
He doesn't come back to the football.
It's an incomplete Pai schist.
There's just a lot of bad plays in the last game there for the Patriots.
I feel like if they're able to be on the same page for once this year, this could be the game.
They haven't found that identity offensively all season long, but the Patriots have a chance with a get it right game tonight against Kansas City.
And this could be the game where they are able to find their stride. Offensively.
We know what they can do defensively.
The defense's carry them all season long.
Now it's just the offense finding the 1st 100 plus yard Russia of the season for New England and doing other things like spreading out the football to +89 different targets in the game and having other players step up and catch some touchdown passes.
That could be the key for this one.
For the Patriots, that is what they need.
Some chemistry there offensively, something we haven't seen all season long.
But as far as the chief's here will dig into the chief's keys to success in this game.
Number one here for Kansas City is that I feel like they're just not gonna be able to get the running game going at all in this one against the pagers, said Number one, that they have to lean upon his big play explosiveness.
Now that's how you beat the Patriots.
We saw that last week a big reception that back in the end zone by Will Fuller for a touchdown working on Jonathan Jones.
There just needs to be explosiveness in this game by Tyree kill Travis Kelsey.
They're really gonna have to dig deep into that trickery playbook to do something some and around Jet sweeps week sought out with the Redskins Steven Sims had a 65 yard touchdown run off a jet suite for the only touchdown by Washington against the Patriots back in Week five of the season.
So the Patriots they are prone there a couple times of being beat by explosive big plays down the field.
Kansas City, of course, does not lack explosive tea.
There is explosive players.
Tyree killed the fastest one in the NFL on their roster.
If the Chiefs want to win this game, Tyree Kill will have to go off for 100 and 20 plus for Steven Yards.
If they really want to keep this a game and get the W tonight.
As far as Number two on, the less this one has to be for the Chiefs here, putting pressure and Tom Brady is a big key for Kansas City in this game, the pass rush has to be a big key to getting to the quarterback.
Make Tom Brady feel uneasy foursome the throw passes earlier than he is expected to.
And that's the problem for the Patriots is that when a team has been able to get pressure on Tom, then the wide receivers haven't still found their separation all year.
Like in the years past.
I was watching Patriots film from years before with other wide receivers like Deion Branch, David Paterson.
They just constantly gained separation.
Troy Brown out on the field.
Receivers like that.
It constantly gained separation out there in the field.
Who could ever forget Randy Moss, too, But constant separation from years past its Tom.
Just three step drop backs left on, just dropped back, zips it in right there for a first down.
We've seen that entirely in the years past.
This season, we've seen Tom hold the ball longer than usual.
That's something that the Chiefs will have to be ableto put on Tom today.
Gavin, pointing out.
He believes that that usual send more blood today up.
That will be a good key there for Kansas City.
Definitely no use some blitzes designed blintzes, for sure.
And that's one especially free blitzing up the middle.
So because these wide receivers for the Patriots haven't gained separation all season long, if you send the blood's up that Tom, I'll just have to either number one take the sack or number to release the football and see where it goes to in Kansas City has actually been good this season.
As Faras takeaways, they've been able to get some key takeaways there.
Intercept the football.
I think they're like top eight, an NFL right now, as far as interceptions so far this season.
So if they could send a blitz is up there.
Tom, My Tom might get picked off or so in this game, too, and Tom said some pretty bad passes as well so far this year.
So number three for a key to this game for Kansas City has to be stopping to run.
This is a big, big one for today, so Kansas City has to stop the run.
If their defense wants to get off the field, they need to stop the rush.
And this is a team the Patriots team, the very towards like.
The bottom quandary of the NFL here in rushing The book on That's how the pictures were able to beat him last season is because they were able to get touched out runs in the NFC championship game, which Rex Burkhead to Goto got two of those touchdown run, so they're gonna have to stop multiple running backs today for the Patriots.
Whether it's Tony must show whether it's James White, whether it's Rex Burkhead or even print in Boldon from time to time, played a little bit. The running back.
The Chiefs will.
I have to stop the run here.
Something that they've struggled to do all season long.
Gavin pointing out.
He'll see if the refs will call phony roughing the passer calls like last year's NFC championship game.
To there? Yep, in that, UM, also as well.
The big offsides call was, Ah, the Chiefs had it.
They had it last season in the D.
Ford offside psychologist.
Ruined it from there, too.
So, of course, the Chiefs were the penalties here this season.
It's just no stupid penalties here by the Chiefs is they want to win this game.
They have to play a really clean game if they want to get the W.
The last one, though playing a clean game as well as that's number four, the last key to success here for the Chiefs in this matchup, they cannot turn the ball over, especially against the number one defense and well, number one defense and interceptions this season with a pizza with the Patriots number one defense and fewest points allowed.
Number to ring to total defense in the NFL as far as US total yards behind the 40 Niners.
The Chiefs just cannot turn the ball over in this game.
So those are basically the keys for these two teams.
As far as my Patriots cheese preview. Thanks so much.
Guys were watching before I sign off here in the video, I liketo give you guys my predictions here for the game.
I feel like it's gonna be a great one today.
Course, they put it on national television on CBS.
Should be a great game.
Tony Romo and Jim Nance will be on the call for this game over on CBS for 25 p. M. Eastern time.
3 25 Central, This one taking place at Gillette Stadium, 30 degrees out.
My prediction for this game feel like it should be a close one.
Last Patriots home loss, though.
You have to go all the way back in the books here to October 1st.
That was against the Carolina Panthers, where they lost on the gram. Good, No kick.
I think it was like a 58 yarder to win the game for Grampa.
Noah's A Page has lost 33 30.
The loss before that at home was against Karim Hunt and out Smith and the chief's back on banner night in September 2017.
But I feel like the Patriots here just gonna be too good at home in proving that 21 home game straight winning streak over the 22 in this game.
I do have the Patriots wedding a close one final score.
I've got New England's 27 Kansas City 23.
Um, I take down those numbers a little bit, though, because these offenses haven't been that strong is like years past year.
What Kansas City number one offense last year in the NFL, now their number four as faras total offense.
But I feel like the Patriots will still be able to pull out the victory at home, though, as we we all know how Bill Belichick steam please in December.
There just so tough to beat their, especially comes time when the weather gets colder and teams won from other parts of the country struggle out in the cold weather.
But Kansas City. It does get cold.
So they are one of the teams that one of the few teams that they don't struggle as much in the cold weather compared to like another team like Miami or Jacksonville, or some team down south there that has struggled in years past when they come to New England and take them on in the cold weather.
But that is it here to, Ah, my prediction video here.
Thanks so much guys for watching this video.
Gavin pointing out last game they didn't have any penalties, so they have to build on that, too.
Yup, so the Chiefs will have to build on that place.
I'm queen football to make this a close game.
I feel like it's gonna be a fantastic matchup.
I'll be on the call later today for 25 p.
Eastern time. Patriots versus cheese Hope.
Hopefully, you guys will join me there.
I write for being apart here on this video.
Gonna sign off now In the stream.
Chiefs versus Patriots Week 14.
Previews should be a dandy.
Yes, this is the sports dish on SportsCastr.
